Jesus Christ marveled at a centurion's great faith, saying he had not found such faith in all of Israel. This man understood the concept of kingdom authority, which comes from a higher power and is linked to obedience. He demonstrated this by saying he was a man under authority, having soldiers under him, and therefore he had authority over them. This principle is still applicable today, and Jesus' authority is our authority, as we are united with him in his death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and enthronement.
