Nehemiah's heart is burdened and broken because God's people are not worshiping Him, and he is consumed with the fact that God is worthy of worship. He is a man who is focused on the right thing, and his heart is impacted by the report of God's people not worshiping Him, leading him to mourn and weep day and night. He comes to worship with spiritual sensitivity, adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication, and his prayer is a plea for God to be merciful and compassionate and to bring the people together.
