Now, on with the show. Live. Live. From the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. The opening of the baseball season.
The season has begun. This is the Rich Eisen Show. Web swing on Drive it again. Drive it first. He's in there with a triple.
Earlier on the show, NFL Network insider Tom Pellisero. Two-time NBA All-star Carlos Booser. Coming up, actor and comedian David Cross. And now, it's Rich Eisen. Hour number three, the Rich Eisen Show is on the air.
We've had a fun time. We were on the air live watching the Pirates give Paul Skeens a two-run lead before he even threw a pitch in the 2026 Major League Baseball Regular Season Opening Day for the Pirates in City Field against the Mets. 2-0 Pirates, and then the Mets scored five on Skeens and knocked him out of the game in the first inning. Skeens entering his second start. of the season.
Whenever that is, with an ERA of sixty seven and a half. It's 5-2 Metropolitans. Opening day, the Dodgers will have at it. Against the Diamondbacks at Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium. Am I saying it right?
I have no idea. I don't know. When you say Dodger Stadium, what's the cloak? The cloak. They're at the clo of Chavez Ravine.
Let's go. It's going to be just like Staples Center. All good. We're going to call. But it's March Madness, guys.
Guys, everybody focus. David Cross is going to be coming out of our green room and is he here? Yeah, he just came in. Fantastic. I love the back door.
Fantastic. We appreciate that. We we would assume the anal repus would do that. Uh the famed one of uh What? Of uh I'm making an arrested development reference.
I know. All right. He's here in our green room, but joining us right now. Um is a proud dad. A proud Duke Blue Devil.
And the man who I believe was chosen with the draft choice and the last Cavaliers' draft choice in the draft before they took LeBron James Carlos Boozer is here on the Rich Eisen Show. What's up, Carlos? How have you been, man? Guys, how you guys doing? I'm doing terrific, man.
Couldn't be happier. How you guys doing? I bet you're happy. My gosh. What is it like for you and your family to watch your sons in action for Duke?
What is it like? I mean, you go through all the emotions. Obviously, this is. The best time of the year for college hoops, and the stakes couldn't be any higher.
So you go through the excitement, the nerves, the anxiousness, the celebration at the end of the game when they win, all the emotions, man. But ultimately, just proud. You know, I'm super excited for him to have this experience. You know, I went through it a long time ago, and to watch your kids go through it is a whole different kind of satisfaction.
Well, Michael Irvin, who I adore and have hung out with quite a bit, told me once upon a time that He told his sons There were three things he couldn't, they had to do. They were beyond their choice. Everything in their world is their oyster and they could choose to do whatever they wanted to do. But three things they could not choose were their religion, their last name, and the fact that they had to go to the University of Miami. Those are the three things he said.
So I'm wondering, is it the same thing for your two basketball playing sons, Carlos? No, no, I didn't force it on them at all. They chose it on their own. They went through the entire recruiting process. They met all the coaches.
They went on their official visits and And they decided to play together and play at Duke. And I was obviously extremely happy about that. It's obviously worked out pretty well for them. But they went through the process on their own and did a hell of a job making a good choice. And how did you find that out?
How did you and your wife find out that they were You know, going to play together, and that, and that they're going to go to Duke. How do you guys find that out? That's a good point because, like, for example, the option of if there was a situation that was better for Caden. Than Cam, there was an option for them to go separate, right? And have a chance to go to college in two different places.
Yes. If it was better for one or the other. But they sat down and handled it like some men and decided they wanted to. to choose to play together. And because it's going to be the last time they get to choose that, obviously the NBA is very different.
And they chose to go to Duke. And I was obviously very, very excited because they had to get to know John and the staff, and they did. And they chose to pick that staff in this program. And as a proud alum, I can't tell you how my phone was blowing up. When the boys decided to go to Duke from all the alumni, like Grant Hill was calling, Jay Will, and Batty A, and the list goes on.
So they made the Brotherhood very proud. Did anybody call in advance thinking you could put your thumb on the scale, knowing about how talented they were and they wanted them to go to Duke? Was your phone blowing up prior to the decision? Yeah, definitely, definitely that too. But I think I did a good job of letting them just stay out of it, let them decide for themselves.
And then again, I just know with my wife and I, with three kids and having to, you know, play zone defense sometimes with everything that they do extracurricular outside of school. Um What made you happier? The fact that they chose Duke, or the fact that they're playing together, and you and your wife would just have to go to one place. Oh my God. How convenient is that?
Because we've done, obviously, our older son, Carmani, plays baseball. Yes. But we've done the like, you know, three hours on the baseball diamond and then rushing across town in Miami to go make sure we catch the basketball game inside. And sometimes baseball, you have a double header, so you got to double back. We've done that before while they were younger.
So I'm very, very, very, very happy that you're at the same school. That's a great point. Hey, hey, man, I'm a dad too. You know, and I know my role as chauffeur sometimes more than anything else, you know, and seeing. My gosh.
And you mentioned Carmani. I would love for you to tell this story, Carlos. about Carmani's health. And your two boys The twins and the family planning you went through, and why? Because I don't know if a lot of people know this story, Carlos.
Would you mind telling it here? Yeah, yeah, sure, absolutely. Um, so obviously. Uh me and CC. The boy's mom, we married and were so excited to have our firstborn.
I have sickle cell trait. And then she had sickle cell trait, which we didn't know. And that gives you a 25% chance that your offspring will have a sickle cell, like the flow bone disease. Carmine fell into that 25%. And we found out, maybe like, you know, four or five months in, we did an amniocentesis.
And we tested the fluid and we found out that he had it. And we had to, and we didn't, we got tested. We were not a match. And we found out that the most effective match is from a sibling. But because he's our firstborn, there is no siblings.
So CC took it upon herself to get more information about IVF and vitro and that whole process because we were, I mean, we're young, we're in our early 20s and we don't know that much about that kind of stuff.
So we got educated very quickly. And we went through the process and we were able to pick out two embryos. that did not have a sickle cell or any sickle cell gene in it. that were just healthy, healthy embryos. And we put both of those insider and they both took.
And that's how Cameron and Caden came out. And then we used the umbilical cord, the cells from the umbilical cord. To run through Carmani's body.
So basically, Carmani has his brother's blood running through his body, and he's completely healthy. He's a 19-year-old stud baseball player at the University of Fort Lauderdale. And thanks to his brothers, he has a pain-free, injury-free life. My goodness, gracious.
So cool. Wow. Man. Talk about being blessed. and talk about obviously um being blessed In a way that you have the technology and the ability to do it, right?
Absolutely. My word, that had to have been a process, obviously, for you guys. It was. It was a lot. You know, we had just given birth to Carmani.
Carmani was young. He was 15 months old.
So he was a youngster, was still like, you know, just speaking very basic words, and communication wasn't like, you know, full-blown sentences.
So you had to kind of read him. You know, if he was having pain or if he was having discomfort or things like that.
So, and it was tough because he had to go through the entire process of. You know, he lost all of his hair. You know, he lost all of his cells. They had to redo a port and move it from one part of his chest to the other part of his chest. And again, he's barely over a year old.
So this is all. You know, it almost felt like a guinea pig at times because there wasn't that many kids his age. He may have been the first 15-month-old kid to go through this process. You know, way back when.
So to us, it's a modern day miracle. We thank God every day for it. Um, and and um, just grateful that the boys are all here, half, healthy, and happy, man. And what I honestly, I did not know that until just a few weeks ago when I read about it, Carlos. And It's just something for everybody to keep in their mind's eye as they obviously watch your sons.
Do what they're doing on behalf of Duke and such a massive platform for the tournament on behalf as well of their brother. It's truly something else. You guys must get emotional. You guys must get emotional watching it. Yeah, we do, man.
I mean, it's popped up a lot recently. Right.
So we did a, you know, ESPN did like a 30 for 30 or like a E30 or whatever it's called, E60 story on them or something. It's pretty nice.
So it's been nice to get the love from the people who haven't known about it.
Some close friends that didn't even know about it.
So it's been nice for the boys. And the cool thing about it is. You can talk to the boys about it and hear their perspective on it now because they're old enough to articulate themselves very well.
So it's great to hear the boys' perspective on it, too. Born for and with a purpose, all at the same time. You know, it really is remarkable. Carlos Buzzi here, on behalf of DraftKings, which we'll talk about. St.
John's, you want to turn to a pundit here, not just a dad? I mean, you know, Patino and St. John's, this is a significant opponent for your sons and for Duke coming up on Friday in D.C., I imagine. Yeah, very, very good team, obviously, extremely well coached, Hall of Fame coach. They got some studs over there, some grown men.
It's going to be a great challenge and a great battle. I'm looking forward to it. I just got to DC. I'm here now. I just landed.
About an hour ago and jumped on with you guys, but I can't wait to watch the game. And Carmani will be here too. Carmani will be here too.
So you guys will see him in the crowd as well. But no, St. John's is a terrific team. I've been watching them all season. They had a great, great finish to their regular season.
Battled a couple of tough teams like UConn twice and got the dub. Had a very good tournament thus far, and they can score, they can defend, they defend like crazy. Um, and obviously, they you know, Coach Patino does a great job of putting his players in a position to be successful, so the challenge is going to be there and. um we're looking forward to it okay um and obviously you survive in advance enough You might end up watching Duke take on Arizona. How ironic would that be?
Obviously, if your sons get a national championship with Duke. against the same opponent that you did. back in the day for Coach Kaye, that would be I mean, it's possible. It's entirely possible. It's very, very possible.
And it's been so many full circle moments this year with them being wearing that uniform and being on campus. If that were to come to fruition. That would be incredible, man. Yeah. And, you know, you won it all with Jay Williams, who you mentioned before, Shane Battier mentioned before.
The current general manager of the Golden State Warriors, Mike Dunlevy. Junior, I mean, look at that. What do you think of when you see this shot right there on the screen? Dang, I feel like I had hair back then, you know, without the Sharpie star.
So good to have some young hair back then without the Beijing. But no, no, we had a good team, man. I mean, those, I mean, Shane was such an incredible leader. I don't know if these young kids know how great Jay Will was as a point guard in college. He was magnificent.
Don't need he was growing into a sniper, sharpshooter. He was like 6'9, 6'10. We just had a team full of guys who loved to compete, didn't care who got the name in the paper. We just wanted to win. And that's what this group is like.
This group is a group of guys that just wants to win. They got a brotherhood, a very close-knit group this team is.
So it's been fun to watch them battle some adversity, go through the ups and the downs. You know, losing guys to injuries, guys coming back from injuries. And no matter what they do, they just next man up. They circle the wagons. They believe in their coaching staff and each other.
And it's been fun to watch. It's been fun to watch this team grow together. Any similarities between Coach K and John Shire? Carlos. Oh, a ton.
A ton, man. What do you got for me on that? You know, obviously, people that may not know, but John was a phenomenal player, you know, at Duke, won a championship, and also was an assistant coach under Coach K for nine years.
So he learned a lot. from coach k before he took over i think one of the things that that John is learning in his young coaching career is the poise under pressure. Coach K was a master at being poised under pressure. You know, you go all the way back to the beginning with that Glatner shot against Kentucky since we're playing Patino coming up tomorrow. But just to have plays in the back of your mind, to know in every situation or what to call.
to have composure like that's that's a that's a skill in my mind from a coaching perspective Not to freak out, but to be poised because guess what you are? You're the leader. and the team sees you as that leader and John has developed that. It's been awesome to watch. Yeah, I I I bet it has been.
And again, for you For you to maybe have that full circle moment with your kids on the floor, you know, Carlos, that would be amazing, obviously, for you and your family. What are you doing with DraftKings? I'd love to give you the floor on that. Carlos. Thank you.
First of all, what a great time of year, man. The games have been so close. There's no better place to bet responsibly than DraftKings. They do a great job of giving mystery options for the consumers. They're putting together this super app so you can do everything at one location at DraftKings.
Guys, go bet at DraftKings and bet responsibly.
Okay, everybody, make sure you do bet responsibly, obviously, when it comes down to it. Carlos, I had Jamal Mashburn on the show yesterday. Um and I talked with him about how Stuart Scott and I called you know, his highlights from Sports Center back in the day. Yeah. Same thing with you, sir, when you were doing your stuff with Duke.
Honestly, I was calling all your highlights, so was Stuart.
Well, I'd probably call all of them. Stuart wanted to have nothing to do with Duke, you know, being from North Carolina. Nothing. Absolutely. He wasn't terribly happy.
Then I went to Michigan and I was with him too on that front, as you know. You know, we were like oil and water, Michigan and Duke, when it all comes down to it. But you were there when LeBron showed up in Cleveland. You just you were in year two. What was that like when LeBron showed up in Cleveland?
Carlos. Man, he was, he was, to be honest with you, I don't think any of us knew how good he was going to be. We watched him in high school. We've seen a ton of guys in high school that were dominant. But he stepped in as a rookie and was just as dominant.
Like he was the best player. We knew he was the best player after the first practice we had. And I was blown away. This kid was 18, built like a grown man. You've seen guys come out of high school and they had the skinny frame like most of us had as an 18-year-old.
He was stronger. He was more athletic, obviously, but he had a good build to him. And his vision, his IQ, his basketball. Uh, just natural born-given ability was beyond what we had seen before.
So it was a whirlwind, man. We went from having No media coverage to every game being on ESPN and national television. That was great. But he made the game easier for us because to me. It's so fascinating to me how he's the all-time leading scorer.
But to me, his best skill was his passing ability. He made the game so easy because he could see a play ahead. He was tall enough to see over the defense. He put the ball on time, on target for you as a scorer, as a finisher. And he's leading, he's led the entire NBA in history with the most points.
But I still feel like his best asset is his passing ability. Did anybody dare to haze him? Rookie haze him? Like, tell him? Yeah, he had the same stuff.
He had to, you know, get donuts, he had to get coffee for Big Z. Yeah, he was a great rookie, man. He was he loved every bit about being in the NBA. He was ready for it. He stepped into it with a great maturity to him.
He wasn't above like all the regular hazings that we all had to go through. I went through it too. Everybody went through it. He was a terrific teammate, honestly. Zedrunis Ilgauskis has told.
LeBron James in his life, get me donuts. Is that what you're saying to me? Don't happen. Abseason. She told me to my rookie year.
Absolutely. And what donuts did Big Z like? I mean, I like the game. He liked glaze, glazed krispy cream. Standard, I think.
Nothing too special, but you still had a great form.
Okay, yeah, Cleveland, boy, I'm gonna tell you, it was some days that you didn't want to go, but you had to go. Hey, Carlos, what a great uh way uh to catch up. Uh, I really appreciate it. Congrats to everything going on, right? Yeah, it's been way too long.
Let me know whenever you're out here in Los Angeles. Would love to have you here. We'll just chop it up. I love that, man. Thank you for having me on.
Have a good time. I greatly appreciate it. I wish you the best of luck, unless there's one particular opponent that you do see. We already played you guys. Come on, man.
I mean, we did, but you know. Why don't you tell him what you think? He's still complaining. Still complaining. No, no, it was.
It was eight on five at times. Oh, boy. Eight on five. Yeah. Eight on five.
Your son, your son never travels ever. Never. Do they even call traveling anymore in basketball? No, no. Certainly not against a Duke Blue Top.
Oh, boy. But against the Wolverine, absolutely. That happens. No, it happened. Oh, good.
That's okay. I'm glad you appreciate it. It's so good. I feel opposite. I feel the exact opposite way.
Well, we'll talk about it then. We'll talk about it again, man. Thank you. In the meantime, we go our separate ways and wish each other the best and hopefully face each other in Indianapolis. That would be great.
Take care, sister. That would be amazing. Here you go. That's Carlos Boozer, everybody here on the Rich Eisen Show. I felt it was nine on five for a second.
Wow. Him being here. Hey, I'll say it.
Okay, great. I was trying to be classy.
Well, and you dragged me down to your level. How can you do it? That's not his level. You say it out loud. Yeah.
We hear it on the mic. That's true. Yeah. Don't be scared. Eight on five, it's very difficult.
to win a basketball game. Five guys in white jerseys, three guys in black and white stripes. It's very difficult to win those games. Yeah. St.
John's will find out. I'm very worried about this game. Ah Why are you worried? Why are you worried? Oh, that's right.
My bad. I keep getting off the vampire.
Okay, that's true. Let's take a break. David Cross is here. He has a new comedy special that we'll talk about. with a man from Georgia when we come back on The Rich Eisen Show.

Sorry, what are you watching? I'm on your multi-play thing here. I'm watching the Philadelphia Cream Cheese ad on that channel. Yeah. It is you can put it in scrambled eggs?
Yeah, you can, yeah, yeah. Isn't that a reason? Yeah. Yeah. Philadelphia cream cheese.
Go figure that. What? All right. Well, thank you for having me on. What's up?
How are you? Good to see you. You two are. I would like to. Yes, I appreciate you plugging the special.
Of course, let's do it again in a minute. But let's uh so fantasy baseball. Yes, sir. Underway. Underway.
Yep. And I'm in a NL only. NL only six by six. Six by six, meaning for the six offensive categories and six pitching. All right.
And how many teams are in this thing? 10. 10? Yeah. NLO.
So this is deep. You got to go deep. It's really hard. It's we've been. Most of us have been doing it for 22 years now.
Damn. All right. Who's the most of us? What do you got for me? Anybody that we would know?
Some celebrities from Hollywood types, a bunch of Hollywood liberals. Is that the name of your team?
Well, I live in New York. The New York Liberty. We got some. No, the name of my team this year is. I change it up.
Some people never change it up, but mine is. Because I'm an Atlanta fan. I'm an Atlanta boy, and is Albie's Inu. Clever, clever stuff. Albie's Inu.
Yeah. Okay.
Okay.
And so, who else is in it? You mentioned Ben Falcone in the break, right? Yeah, because he's got Skeens who got blown up today. Effer. I didn't see it.
I was coming in. TJ, call me. I was by the door watching your big screen over there. We were coming back from break, and I was walking in my seat, and I'm like. Who's what?
Is that stable cross? Look at that. And I'm like, what happened? I'm on my phone, like, who's got skeins? And it's Ben Falcone.
That's a tough one to start. How to leave a bruise. We do have some people that I think have insider information. Who's that? Oh.
Who do you got?
Well, you know Mike Barnacle? Of course. Yeah, he's on him and his. Yeah, his inside information is from like, you know, Peter Gammons in 1983. With all due respect, he's going to.
Let me tell you about, I'll tell you about what Yaz can do. You know what I would do? I would draft Mike Schmidt for third base. Am I wrong for saying that? No, no, I don't.
James Barnacle for crying out loud. I think that's. Is that fair? Is that fair? Yeah, because he hasn't won yet.
So you're probably. We got Jason Bateman.
Okay.
He runs it. He's the commissioner. Oh, he's the commissioner. We're big on that.
Now we're getting it. He's all LA.
So he's got bets. He's got Otani. What's he got? No, he didn't get Otani.
So it's fresh every year. There's no keepers? There's no keepers.
Okay.
No keepers. He got Tucker. That was his first play. He's got his coder there. Not bad.
Yeah, he's got by the end of the. Seasonal at most. How many yachts can he water skeep on right now, man? You know, I mean, it's crazy. Hey, he plays hard.
We all play for real. It's real. And if you don't, you get kicked out. John Hamm is no longer a part. He didn't, he didn't play.
He didn't make trades. And, you know, you gotta be a part of it. Oh, so he didn't, he wasn't. He wasn't watering and gardening the team. And he did Autopic, which is a sin, unforgivable sin.
I think in an auction year. Auction. It's auto and auction. It just, whatever your next thing is, you go through the ESPN app. Sure.
Okay.
Ham is just, he's too busy. It's called pulling a ham when you do that. Pulling a hammy. Pulling my hammy.
Okay.
So ham is come and gone. Pull one out for John. Yeah, we have a couple people that are over the years. Right.
We're like, sorry, man.
Okay.
You got to do this for real.
So, who's on your team? What do you got? I'll tell you because I don't remember. I mean, we just drafted last weekend. And I've got, I'll tell you.
Taking out his phone. Yeah. Uh my ESPN app that's a good idea. Who's on Albie's New Year?
Okay.
Ladies and gentlemen, David. Oh, we've gone up to. Seventy six. 0.5 points.
Okay.
All right. So I got. You had somebody last night, then, I imagine. I got uh. No.
Gabriel Moreno at catching, Mike Bush at first, Bryce Tarang at second, Machado. At third, he was my second pick. Mason Wynn at short. Garrett Mitchell, Luis Roberts Jr., Ian Happ in the outfield. Because.
Ronald Decunha Jr., my first pick, is not playing today, so I slotted somebody in. Ivan Herrera, I think, is going to have a good year. Yes. Norman Gorman. Uh Nolan Gorman.
Yes. Uh uh utility. Mm-hmm. And uh Um Like it. Nathan Church.
That's my batters when I'm here. Man, we're getting deep. I got Chris Sale, who's my third pick. All right. Yep.
I tried to get as many braves as I can. Good for you. And, oh, you want to hear something else? I got, I'm not going to go through all this stuff, but that's my team. That's basically offense.
My youngest son, who lives on the MLB app, we get thumbs up on David Cross's team. We're good? Yep. Okay, so that's, but keep in mind: 10 teams, NL only. NL only.
It's pretty decent. It is. I agree. A bunch of Cardinals. Yeah, a bunch of Cardinals.
Because I think those guys are going to play because they're already giving up.
Sorry to the St. Louis fans. But congratulations, Cups fans.
Okay, very good. I assume did you meet Jason Bateman on Arrested Development or did you already know him? Yeah. That's where you met him. I haven't met him yet officially, but it's very, it's very informal.
Man, my daughter, 12 years old, my son was here, his sister, has essentially, I would say, learned her sense of humor by watching Arrested Development. That's cool over and over and over again. She's binge-watching Arrested Development right now.
Well, enough's enough at some point. You think so? Yeah, I absolutely. But would you. Give is that good that's good parenting on my on my wife's part, would you say?
Yeah, uh y she's twelve? She's twelve. Yeah, so start with arrested. Yeah, then get into uh Mr. Show Baba David, yeah, when she gets a little older.
Yeah. Then The increasingly poor decisions of Todd Margaret and get her into that.
Okay.
Then. When she turns 13, show her all of my specials. I got nine.
So start from the beginning. That's her her bot mitzvah present? Yeah, it will be. It's the crosses of nine comedy specials. That would be it.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Fantastic. Wait can I I'm sorry to interrupt, but what is a girl like a the the the boy gets a pen. That's the traditional thing.
Okay.
Uh does a is there a traditional gift for a girl? For a bot mitzvah? For a bot mitzvah? I don't know, money, just like anybody else. I don't know.
A check? I have no idea. I'll learn. I'm finding out. She's my only daughter.
Okay.
What do you mean, a pen? Like, you get a pen? Is that what you're saying? Yeah, that's an older. You've given pens for no that.
When I was growing up, the. The The traditional Gift for Bar Mitzvah was a pen. It was like now you are a man. It was like a like a fancy pen. I don't know why.
Okay.
That wasn't just like my household. It was a thing. It wasn't 'cause a cross pen. You know what I mean? Interesting.
See what I'm going with right now. Those are the fancy pens. I I that explains all the royalties. I'm not a part of those people, but uh. No, I'm I'm serious.
That was a thing. I don't know. I'll let you know.
Okay.
When I'm, you know, we'll we'll send you an invite. Yeah. I got to go and say no. I understand that. No, I know that.
And I appreciate your honesty. Yeah. By the way, right? I would not go to, I mean, I wouldn't go to my dear friend's daughter's. You wouldn't even do that?
No. You're like Larry David. You wouldn't go. I would not. No.
I don't like going to weddings. You don't. What? Not an evil? No, no.
I mean, it's got to be a good one. There have been a handful of good ones, but. I yeah. Does anybody here like going to weddings? Be careful.
He's got one coming up in July. I'm going. We're excited to go. You're getting married? I am, yeah.
Yeah. But you understand why people might not want to go, for sure. And I. Can I sug suggest eloping? It's a small gathering.
Yeah. It's not like a.
So you're not putting too many people out. Right, no. You do realize that it's a reason to celebrate, not put people out, right?
Well, yes. But, and I did it the right way. Which is how do you. My wife and I did it. We did a we.
Have a place in upstate New York on the Delaware River, and there's a. Yeah. Like at least of 50-year-old, 40-year-old Jewish summer camp thing.
So we. Rented out the summer camp when nobody was there. We got married in October.
Okay.
And You put people in bunks? Yeah. And we had about 120 people and it was a three-day thing, leaving on the third day, but all kinds of activities. There's ziplines, and it's beautiful, just absolutely beautiful up there. And And then we had uh all this stuff planned.
Like I got a Fran Drescher impersonator, a Little John impersonator, and a Ralph Jackie Gleason as Ralph Cramden impersonator, and had them and we're up it's very rural. I mean, there's no one there. It's like we're in the woods and we just had them walking around You know, for like little John going, uh, you know, what you know, what was he saying? Whatever his thing is. Oh, yeah, he's walking around out in the woods, you know, all fully dressed up, and they all came up from the city and uh.
And then we had uh We had Jo you know John Benjamin? H. John. Sure.
So, John, we had him as a. Rabbi Interrupting our wedding. Like, it was all fun stuff, goofy stuff. Clearly. Yeah.
Yeah. So that's. That's the right way to do it. Yeah, and then we had our favorite food trucks from New York. Isn't that true?
And my sister, who makes, had a food truck in Atlanta, come up, and we had, and Quest loved DJ, and we were out in the middle. Wow, okay, that's great. By the way, the Latango played. You could have led with that. Wow, but then it's all disappointing.
No, it's not at all.
Well, I mean, although. I disagree. I'm a storyteller, Rich. It's what I do for a living. I didn't mean to denigrate your storytelling.
So your guests for your wedding had to share a shower and a toilet in a bunk? Is that really what happened? Yeah. Was there inspection to make sure that they cleaned up and made the hospital corners on their bed the next day? Or like how do you think?
have uh Ryan and Blake and uh you know have to do their um, beds. That's part of what we paid for. And yeah, we had some we had some uh everybody got down and dirty and it was really, really fun. It was basically forty eight hours, you know, with like fire pits.
Okay.
It was awesome. It was amazing. How long ago was that? How long have you been married? Uh oh, to me to test you.
on the air here. Doing math. It'll be 14 games in the project. It'll be fourteen years this year. All right, so the cat was the the cast of Arrested was there?
Did you did you invite them? Was there? Was Odenkirk there? I think, yeah, of course.
Okay, cool.
Okay, very good. Yeah, some well, most of the Like Hollywood famous people were on my wife's side of the List. Understood.
So before I let you go here, David Cross. What is the one arrested development storyline for your character, Dr. Tobias Fionke, that you had the most difficult time saying, all right, I'm going to do this? Yeah. Uh I mean Nothing that was presented to me was all really fun.
There was one, there were two things. Yes. One we didn't get to, which was supposed to be revealed. Later on, like uh uh I guess if there was gonna be a movie or whatever, but uh that Tobias uh is black. Yes.
What? And if you go back, I don't know where they are, but they've laid in. Certain Things that I said or responses to people that sort of. Clue you into that. They laid Easter eggs throughout the seasons for rest of development.
Yes. So this was the Genesis idea, pretty much, of or they decided post-pilot to do this sort of thing? Oh, post-pilot.
Okay.
Yeah. I believe it was post-pilot. Do you recall any of these lines that might there was something, and it was either there were two.
So I had Carl Weathers. And then Ice, there was a guy named Ice in some episodes. who's black and I would say it was things like, and I don't know the exact thing, but it was like, well, you know, guys like us, or something like that. All right. Where when you go back, there were a handful of them throughout the season.
But it never got paid off. Never got paid off. All right. So, what was the other one that you mentioned?
Well, the other one is in hindsight, which is. The being blue was really, really unpleasant. And.
So the reason it was unpleasant Because You know, there was no kind of experimenting or rather. Figuring out what the best way to do it was.
So I would get. you know this Coat of blue, and you don't realize how often, constantly, you're touching yourself. Like you're faint, you're going like this, or just your hand here, or scratching, or whatever. Anytime you do that, it comes off or smudge it.
So they'd have to redo it, and you'd have to sit like this. in a chair until you shot And then if you touch anything. And then I they would So they would uh they had this like industrial size thing of goo where they would uh clean me off after we shot in a chair. Then I'd get in a little, you know, those little golf cart things and they'd take me to a sound stage that had a shower in it. And I'd go and take a shower with more stuff to put on there.
And then I would have to take a shower again at night when I got home because there's like blue stuff all in my ears and on the on the sheets, and it was awful. It was awful. I mean, it was worth it. The world moves fast. Your workday, even faster.

For you, but it was, it was, uh, you know, we didn't, nobody, and then later on, uh, we shot. It was the end of one of the seasons where I think it was, you know, on the next, arrested and George Senior was on the run and he was disguised as a Blue Man Group thing, and the Blue Man Group guys were actually there and it was a real quick thing and And he's getting ready to shoot, and he's got this whole blue bodysuit, except for right here in his face. And And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Wait, what? They're like, yeah, that's how we do it. Are you kidding me? And he just has a little bit around his face. And I'm like, and you can't tell because it's all blended in.
Yeah. Didn't have that afforded to you, sir. No, I did not. Just spent, imagine eight hours like this. I couldn't.
And then you have to get up and they have to lift to shoot the scene and then you have to get reapplied. Oh, my God. Yeah, it was pretty, pretty rough. Yeah. You were making fun of them that?
Well, let's see. What if Paul Skin's Final line against the Mets today. It's not good. Five runs, five earned runs, one strikeout, two walks, a hit batter, and an ERA of 67.50. Whoopee!
That's literally only because O'Neill couldn't catch a pop-up.
Well, that's everything's always because of some kind of broken. Oh, no, no. O'Neal Cruz. That one hit over his head. It would only have been two runs if he had caught the pop-up.
Like, come on. No, it wouldn't have. They had a basis clearing triple. It would have been it was 4-2 after that. It was the extra run, 5, and they just added a 6.
But I understand. Anthony, listen, man. Your Mets are awesome. Is that what you wanted to hear? Isn't that great?
all I'm saying is opening day and the Mets have the best record in baseball. In Queens percentage-wise on opening day in MLB history. Oh, is that right? I had no idea.

Is that right? What are they in the other 161 games? That's not what he was talking about. I was just wondering. After opening day, what happens?
Anything? Mm. Okay.
