The kingdom of God is the reign of God, where God reigns as king, and his will is done. Jesus teaches us to pray 'your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.' The kingdom has been hijacked by Satan and sinful humanity, but Jesus came to bring the kingdom of God, and his enemies have not yet been made his footstool. We pray for the kingdom to come, not just for its eventual arrival, but also for its presence in our lives, our communities, and the world.
