The Bible teaches that true salvation is not just a decision, but a transformation that results in a life of righteousness, obedience, and a hunger for God's will. To prove one's salvation, one must examine their life and compare it to the standards set by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. This includes right thinking, right words, right actions, and right relationships, as well as a right relation to money and material things. Those who come to Christ on their own terms, rather than God's, are on the broad road to destruction, while those who come on God's terms, stripped of their sin and self-righteousness, are on the narrow road to life.
