The following program is recorded content created by the Truth Network. It's Matt Slick Live. Matt is the founder and president of the Christian Apologetics Research Ministry, found online at carn.org. When you have questions about Bible doctrines, turn to Matt Slick Live for answers, taking your calls and responding to your questions at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.

Oh, well, here we go. What helps? I move the microphone over. Hey, welcome, everybody. Today's date for this podcaster is September 1st, 2026.

If you want to give me a call, it is easy as usual. All I'm going to do is dial 8772072276. I want to hear from you. Give me a call. It looks like the phones are working better than yesterday.

We had one line open yesterday.

Now we've got two calls coming in simultaneously, so that's good. Things look like they're back to normal. And we'll get to those in a second. Just want to give you a heads up out there in Radio Land that let's just say that. We need your financial Support.

Just down here, just that blunt.

So if you've ever thought about supporting us, please consider that. All you got to do is go to carm.org. And uh just look at the top of the page, it'll say donate. And we ask ten dollars a month. That's what really helps us make budgets and things like that.

So even though this economy is getting worse and worse and it just is. I've seen lots of stories of people just ha struggling. There's a lot of stuff. We can get into stuff, but but um If the Lord puts it on your heart, please consider supporting us because it's something that Carm really does need now. And I just talked to a couple of people who work with Carm about our situation.

And we'll all be praying.

So anyway, uh that's it. And uh You know, I'm reminded of of some ministries where they say, If you don't do it right now And I don't do that. I remember one ministry said that if he didn't get enough money, God would kill him.

Okay. It was what's his name? out of Oklahoma. What was that guy's name, Charlie? Oral Roberts, thank you.

Oral Roberts said that back in, I don't know, 80s, 90s, whatever it was. He said that if he didn't get enough money, the Lord told him he was going to kill him. Put a guilt trip on everybody. I remember, I never forgot that. It's like, come on.

And so the thing is, we are financially lower than we've been in a long, long time. And I'm actually kind of joyous because I'm just going to wait and see what God does. And he's come through so many times, so many different ways, that just praise God. And if he doesn't, well then he's got something else going on. And we'll just adjust accordingly.

And it's really strange. I have a real piece about it. Praise God. And if you want to support us, if you can't do it financially, please consider supporting us in prayer because we certainly need that. And that's actually more important.

We want to be able to get the Word of God out and discuss things with people and do all kinds of good and neat stuff.

So there you go. All right. All right. What I'm going to do now is get on the air with, let's see, Joel from Washington. Hey, Joel, welcome.

You're on the air. Hello, Matt. How am I coming in audio-wise? Oh, you're coming in very well. Very good.

That's right.

Well, thank you, Apple, for those AirPods.

Well, I'm calling today because I have a question about how to rightly honor a modern day Sabbath conviction when I'm in a family who does not share that conviction. an extended family wants me to do things on Saturdays. When I would rather be home with Jesus, being spiritually formed. and being with my household.

Okay. Then that's what you should do. Yeah, you're if that's what you believe is the right thing to do, then you need to uh to follow through with that.

Now. Christians We worship normally on Sunday because that's the day of the Lord's resurrection and things like that. There's no command in the New Testament to keep the Sabbath. Not in the Old Testament way and not on the Saturday. But.

It see, you have a conviction, and if you have a conviction that's on Saturday, you need to honor that and you need to not compromise it.

Now, as long as you're not judging anybody else by it, it's just your thing, and stuff like that, then that's fine.

So you got to do it according to the system, the ways and stuff that you think is appropriate. And we can discuss that if you like.

Okay. Yeah, I would love to. Where I stand on the subject is I see this as a Romans fourteen issue. It's a conscience matter. Good.

And I'm aware that I'm not required to do it. Um but the Sabbath Existed in a way before the Mosaic law, but God configured the Sabbath for Israel for a time. But that time is over, and so now I see it more as a spiritual discipline that we're invited to do. But we don't have to do it. Yeah.

I'm aware that it could in practice, do it any day of the week. But the reason I choose Saturday to act out this conviction is because it's the only day that I'm not required to be places. And it's the only whole day that I can feel right in my heart about giving God a whole day. Boy, I know you have a great attitude. You have a really good, balanced attitude about it.

Seriously. Thanks. Yeah, no, yeah, no, nobody should. be upset if someone else does it or doesn't do it. Um as Paul says, we're supposed to not hold each other in contempt and not judge.

So, you know, if I'm a Sabbatharian and my wife isn't. I need to be okay with what she chooses to do. Seven be honest and joyful about what it's like, but not be upset if she doesn't do it.

So do you think that it would be the right thing for me to do? If I were to choose to make space in my home for my wife. And kids someday. to have the space for Sabbath. And for me too.

Have intentional rest and spiritual formation on Saturdays and not force them to do it. But let them know that The house is a space for them to do it if they ever develop that conviction. Dude, man, I I just can't improve on what you're saying. I just think you have a very healthy attitude about it. You want to honor God.

You don't want to legalize it for anybody else. You're not obligating anybody else. You're just providing an opportunity. I think you're being a good husband, a good spiritual leader. it what you're doing in my opinion is is is good, it's great.

You have wisdom about you can do a different day if you want, and that's fine. You just feel conviction about Saturday. I'd recommend you follow through with that. You talk to your wife about it, and it's going to be a little bit bumpy road because there's this life and things happen. As long as you realize, you know, the kid broke an arm, it's okay to drive to the hospital on a Saturday, you know, things like that.

But if your ox falls in the hole, then you're going to go take it out. Jesus made exceptions, and Jesus even did work in some sense on the Sabbath. And I get that there's exceptions and emergencies. And I've even been lenient sometimes. you know, when birthdays and things come up and it happens to be on the same day that I would normally be home.

I usually just play it by ear. And if I'm able to rest and participate in those activities, sometimes I go out. But there has been a few times where my wife has got a little upset because she feels like She feels like as a newlywed with me. that her family Sees it as, I don't know, just being standoffish or maybe even lazy. Um She has mentioned that her her family has made a few subtle comments about me.

And that there's some sort of unspoken disapproval of what I do. And I want to make a good impression on my new extended family, but I also love Jesus more. And I'm just wrestling a little bit. It's a new season for me. We just got married four months ago.

This is where I am right now. Wow. Wow, I just really respect your attitude. Seriously, you seem to have a mature attitude about it. And you're wanting to walk through it properly as you honor God and your family.

And that's going to be a difficult thing to do sometimes. I'd recommend, you know, me, I'd say, hey, convert to Sunday. But hey, if you don't want to, you do Saturday. That's your business. But what I would think about doing is uh is go talk into the family.

Very confident. Just like you did with me, man. It's good stuff. And if you were a new friend of mine in our friends' group here, and on Saturday we found out that that's what your position was, my friends would honor it. We'd go, oh, yeah, no problem.

We I actually have a friend who won't go any place, won't go to stores and won't uh go to restaurants on Sundays. That's his outcome. No problem. We don't judge him.

Okay, fine. We just mock him. We want to have fun without you. We love him. But he's just let us know.

And he doesn't judge anybody. There's nothing about it. It's just his thing. I think that you should do the same thing with your family, your wife. And be ready to, I don't want you to compromise, but be ready to compromise.

for the sake of the ox. And uh you know, occasionally here and there and and stuff. But That's a gray area. I think you know what I mean anyway. But um Yeah, I would just go talk to them.

If you feel, I'm going to just tell you: if this is your conviction that it's going to be on Saturday. If that's your conviction, then you need to obligate and honor that because it's before the Lord. And I think Sundays are the the true days now. But I'm not going to disagree with you. I'm not going to put anything on you.

And vice versa.

So you need to honor that, talk to your wife about it, how it can work. And one thing I would worry about. is if it's going to have a a harmful side effect on your marriage. And I'm not saying don't do that like that. I'm just saying.

Just, you know, just be aware and do what you can to work through it because I think your wife is more important than your Sabbath. But Jesus is more important than your wife.

So your teeth are tottering. Yeah. Yeah. I think you have a good attitude though, but Yeah, it'll be interesting to see. What happens?

Well, maybe I'll call back in a couple months and let you know how it's gone. But so far, it seems to only. become a little issue when her family gets involved. 'Cause I actually spend A lot of Saturdays. hour like hours and minutes otherwise with my wife.

It ends up being around four or five hours with Jesus and around seven or eight hours with her, and it's just off and on throughout the day. And we'll leave the house and go downtown, but I try to not leave too far from home. I like to make home home-based on that day because commute takes time, and you know, I'd rather. be doing things that they can't do other days.

Well, other than Romans 14 And Colossians 2, 19. Do you have any other scripture that applies to the situation That I should be thinking about. I think Colossians 2:16, let no one act as judge in regard to the Sabbath, moon, things like that. I really can't think of anything else, except to say, of the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament. All but one are reiterated in the New Testament, and that's the Sabbath.

And Jesus is our rest. Matthew 11:28, come to me, old, heavy laden, I'll give you rest.

So we can rest in Him on any day, and that's fine. I have no problem with that at all. If you think that that's how you have to honor him on that day, then you need to honor them. And uh It's And so just remember, it's not legalistic, which I was going to make sure you were okay, but man, there's nothing to add to what you say. You're just, I think you're doing great.

And besides, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, you know, Mark 2:27.

So, right. I just think. And you have a good attitude, and I'll just see how you work it out. What kind of. Issues kind of come up, but tell the family, okay, let them know.

Let them know that you're trying to honor God above. above them not to be disrespectful. and because that'll help build character awareness in you. And they know you honor. God, and by honoring God, you have to honor your wife and your family, etc., as well.

I think it's good. Do you mind if I ask a follow-up question on an interpretive issue of Romans 14? Sure.

Okay, I'm trying to make it quick. Thank you. Um In those first few verses of Romans 14, and I'm shooting from the hip here. when he talks about how one considers one day above the rest, do you think that he has Sabbath in mind specifically or feasts in general? Yeah.

That's a question that's been raised to me before. And my standard response is: I don't know what was in his mind. It's not a. a snarky comeback. Uh But we got a break coming, so hold on, and we'll get back.

We'll talk about that a little bit, okay? About that, just all right. Thank you, Matt. All right. Hey, folks, you're right back after these messages, and I'm enjoying this conversation.

I think he's doing very well. May the Lord bless him. All right, hey folks, we'll be right back. Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276.

Here's Matt Slick. Hey everyone, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Joel from Washington. Joel. You still there, buddy?

I'm still here, Matt. All right. While I was researching a little bit I found out another verse uh It's Galatians 4:9. He says, You observe days and months and seasons and years. I fear for you.

Um And he's rebuking the Galatians, though, for their legalism. But anyway, that's just a semi-related verse. It's kind of tertiary.

So, when Paul in Romans 14, I've been asked this question: what was in his mind? And I say, I don't know what was in his mind. I can only go with what it says. And what he says here, what day is the Greek word uh Himera. and it's a generic meaning of just day.

One uh person regards one day above another, another regards every day. They alike. And I've had this discussion many times with people, and I ask them.

Okay, let me back up. When people are telling me I need to observe Saturday, Sabbath, I'm not knocking you for holding it, I'm saying they require it. They said, you have to do it on Saturday. And if you don't, you're not saved, and all this kind of stupidity. And I say, so when he says one person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike.

Does the Sabbath is that day included in the overset of every day? And that's the question that traps them. because if every day exists, then Sabbath is part of the set of every. of every day. Yeah.

And so, what I say to people is that you have to understand this. And then the next verse: he who observes the day observes it for the Lord, and he who eats does not sow for the Lord, or whatever. And what you're doing. is observing the day for the Lord. Which is according to your conviction, and which I totally 100% support you in.

Absolutely. In fact, if I know where you live in Washington, come over on Saturday let's go out and get a beer.

Well, probably wouldn't have got to do it. Um That was a joke, but you know, so I I I'm just saying that uh I understand the idea of festivals. But it's not what he's saying. He just says every day. and therefore Sabbath is under that And so you're free to do what you want.

According to convictions that you have before God. And of course, I'm willing to talk to my wife in depth about this because she's my wife, and I want her to understand me as much as possible. But when it comes to her family, if they start to get argumentative, Do you think I'm within God's will to appeal to verse one of Romans 14 and say, This is debatable. And And God says to not argue about it. And I accept you even if you don't do what I do.

I'm okay to just leave it at that. Yeah, absolutely. You could also get some water balloons and just pelt them. But Or the other. Holy water, that's right.

Are they Christians? Um And there's there's been some criticism in the past about certain decisions I make. But it's not because it's outlandish. It's just because they hadn't had a discussion with me about it, but I feel like this is something that we could go in circles for a long time. Yeah.

And that's the reason God let us be free about it. Good. Okay, so you've been married four months. You are now the head of the house. You are the federal head representative of your wife and your coming fourth children, plus you're adopting a man or whatever.

So you're the one responsible, and you are the spiritual leader. And if you believe that you're supposed to do this on Saturday, then you're obligated to do that by the condition of your heart. And you have a very healthy attitude. It's not legalistic, it's not salvific, you're not condemning anybody else, it's just your conviction.

So that's a good attitude.

So you have that right and obligation to do that. according to your conviction, and no one else has the right to try and get in the way of it. And if I were to try and convince you to go move away from that, I would be in the wrong because. each man be must be fully convinced in his own mind. And so that's what it says.

So that's your conviction. You need to follow it, and you kindly need to let others know this is what you're going to do because you believe it's from God. And. You say, but I'm open that God may change my heart and mind later. And I'll let you know if that's the case, and that there's no problem if that occurs.

And you set the boundary because you're your own man, head of the house. And you set those boundaries lovingly, patiently, kindly with those who are not. your uh your your other flesh, your one flesh person. Mm.

Okay. Sounds good. Thank you for your time, Matt. I really appreciate you. Yeah, I really appreciate you.

I really just want to give you a huge compliment. I thought your delivery of the issue was mature, concise, and thorough. And good for you, brother. Good for you.

Well, praise God. I guess I guess school helped me out in some way. Praise God, man. Praise God. All right.

Well, let me know what happens.

Okay, you too. Let me know what happens. All right. Get gone, blah blah blah. Seriously, again, he had a seriously a really good attitude about it.

He has a conviction. He's trying to work it through. He's not being legalistic, not demanding, seeking counsel. Wow, what a mature young man of God he is.

So, praise God for people like Kim. Let's get to, let's see, Scott from Washington. Scott, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, how's it going?

I just uh had a quick question, but Just before I ask, I just wanted to thank you for having people pray for my mom. She's now out of the hospital and back home. And we'll see how she's doing from here on out.

So thank you. Um So I had sort of a I don't know if it's more of a comment or a question. I was just wondering if you've ever considered this thought.

So a friend of mine was speaking the other day about babies. You know, if all babies, you know, received salvation and babies who died and things like that. And, you know, you and I share that we've both lost children. I lost my daughter, you lost your son.

So this is a personal topic for people like us. And so we were speaking, and you know, the Bible says that, you know, God will save those from every nation, tribe, and tongue. And he made a point that there are Tribes out there who have never heard about Christ and maybe who even died out. And his thoughts were, you know. If no one from the tribe heard about Jesus and they all died in their sin, and yet there will be people saved from their tribe, therefore it stands to reason that babies from said tribe will be in heaven.

And so it seems like a little bit more of some evidence towards the positive. on that question. Do you think that's reasonable? Within reason, but I would just say that the Bible doesn't tell us what happens to children. Sure.

All in Adam all die. That's 1 Corinthians 15, 22. He's the one who represented us, so all people are fallen, have fallen natures. They're simple. We are by nature children of wrath.

Ephesians 2:3.

So, uh Having dealt with that issue, and since the Bible doesn't tell us explicitly, I have just leaned on the side that all babies who die go to heaven. I can't prove it. Same here. I'm not going to die in that hill. But, and I, you know, Jesus says, you know, suffer not the children to come to me.

He says, the kingdom of heaven is such as these.

So these inferential, third-level inferential kind of statements. Uh I just take comfort. And I believe I'll see my son when I get to heaven. and a lot of others who never had the chance to be born.

So Uh that's all I can tell you. Uh that's it, you know. That's it. You can.

Well, um when you started the show Y yeah, it it is. Um, but w anyway, when you started the show you mentioned uh Car meeting support, and you know, we give a small amount every month, but I wanted to put it out there. If someone else wants to call in, I'll match them 20 bucks. I'm okay. We appreciate that.

Yeah, we we've uh things have happened recently and And stuff we need to export. But anyway, thanks a lot, brother. All right, Scott. Amen. We got to go.

There's a break. All right. Okay. Okay. Hey folks, if you want to give me a call, you gotta wow with that window in line: 877-207-2276.

We'll be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show.

Now let's get back on with Cole from, but Cole from Georgia. Welcome. Thanks for waiting a long time. What do you got, buddy? Yeah, yeah, ma'am.

I've got a a question for you. Um Yeah.

Now, um Do you believe that we're in the last days? Yeah. Okay, um All right.

Now I got a couple of verses up for you to read.

Now, and let's please read the verses, don't just thrust through them. You know, can you please read them? Depends. If it's 80 verses, I'm not going to do it 'cause you know, but what do you got? It's only like three and one and three, about six total.

Well, look, let me decide what I want to do. What do you want me to read?

Okay. Okay, uh, this is going to be Revelation chapter 21.

Okay. Verses one through four. Yeah, it's a lot to read.

So, new heavens, new earth, as Lord is talking about.

Okay, Tabernacle of the Man. No, well, you've got to read it because you're not going to stay on with me, but I finished if you read it. No, I don't. No, I don't have to read them.

Okay. What's your other set of verses? My other verses are twenty two, three through five. And then I've got a question for you.

Okay. That's only two verses. Read that one. Yeah, no longer the cursed. Uh Bondservant will serve him, they'll see f his face.

Yeah?

Okay, right there. You say we won't see government. I didn't say that. Yes, you did. You said we won't see God.

You say we will not see God's face. That's exactly what you said. No, it's not, because I never say that. I said, Oh, you Matt, we had a big argument about this. Cool.

I said you won't see God the Father. You won't sing it. That's not talking about comic. And if you back up. Cole, Cole, Cole, Cole, stop.

Look, I'm just being precise. You said I never said you could see God. I didn't say that. I said the Father. And you said, see, that's what you said.

That's not what I said. See, the very fact that these little nuances you get wrong tells me that.

Well, maybe you're not really listening to what I say.

Okay, okay, Matt, Matt, Matt. Can I can I can I say what I I need to say? It's only gonna take me a minute.

Now the virtue is it. Revelation 21, 1 through 4, it says that we're going to be before the throne of God, and the Father and the Lamb will be there. It specifically said that. And it says that the Father Himself will dwell with us. He says he's gonna wipe away all our tears.

Now how are we not not gonna see his face if he's gonna wi not wipe away our tears? God the Father has a face? Does God the Father have a face? We don't know, we won't know that until he wipes away our tears. Yeah.

So You don't know that means he might have a face.

Well, does God the Father have a body of flesh and bones? Matt, listen, it's just like you swear in trouble. I love my wife and my kids, they never see your face. Cool. You can't believe that, Matt.

Come on. Cole, you're not thinking critically, all right? I asked you if God the Father has a face. You said you don't know, which means Cole can't. Forget it.

I'm just hanging up on him. I've done this many times where I want to reason with him, and he doesn't want to reason. He just wants to keep talking, and I'm just not going to go with that. Let's just go to Eric from Ohio. Eric, welcome.

You're on the air. Hi, Rat. Hi, how are you doing? 2531246.

Okay. which seems to be the final judgment.

Okay. And I'm interested mostly in the reactions of the just and the unjust. That especially the just that they see themselves as not being righteous when Jesus says, Hey, you did this, you did that. And the response is, when did we do these things? Right.

So my question is, is it a necessary attribute of Salvation to see yourself as vile. and incapable of righteousness. Uh yes and no. Uh it depends on how you mean by necessary. One of the necessary aspects of regeneration is an awareness of our own sin.

But you can have someone Who is not very aware of it? There's different levels of it. And I keep bringing this up. When I used to work at a hospital, I remember seeing a particular individual, a very elderly man. in a very dire condition with tubes everywhere.

Because I used to have a job at a hospital transporting people and bodies and stuff around. And his image sticks with me even 30 years later. thirty five years like it sticks with me. Could such a man um Be aware, love, do very much. Before he died, if he received Christ right away.

There's different levels. Of the idea of being aware of their own sinfulness. I would think that he would probably be if the chaplain were to go in there and say, Look, you're a sinner. Yes, I know I'm a sinner. You need Jesus.

Thank you very much. He wants Jesus and he receives Christ and He dies.

So how much was he aware of his own sin? uh sufficiently. And so it it's a difficult thing to kind of solve if if you understand what I mean.

Okay, yeah, that kind of reminded me of the. the thief on the cross, like that was one of the things he said. right at the end. He's like, we deserve it. to being aware of the Yeah, perhaps I didn't word it correctly.

Is it something that should be expected? Would you expect to see that from I I mean obviously if you don't make it you know, in that situation we only have a day or two or whatever, minutes. you know, you're not gonna have full knowledge of things. But if you've been a Christian for a while, like, sh you should gravitate towards this? Yeah, you should.

I have a sermon that I preach, Who's the Biggest Sinner You Know? And the goal is that when we're done, you point to yourself. because you only know your the depth of your own depravity, not somebody else's. And so, yeah, normally speaking, uh the the longer you're a Christian, the more you should be aware of your failures. and your sinfulness and uh your dependency on Christ should increase.

So yeah, I I would agree. Mhm.

Okay, so I don't want to say doubting salvation, but Just because sin Makes it Cloudy. it's real easy to see yourself As somehow, I don't want to say losing your salvation, but you're like, wow, like. Like I heard a joke. you know, that is Paul wrote Robin seven 'cause he hadn't met me yet. Yeah.

I like that one. It reminds me of the one I say, I'm glad God predestined me from the foundation of the world, because if he looked at me now, he wouldn't pick me. You know, same kind of thing, yeah.

Okay. Okay, so but it's easy to I don't know what to rightly say, not doubt Jesus, but. It's like you see yourself as really missing it. Wait, you mean missing, what's the it that you're missing? Know that you're not righteous.

And That helps. That helps you. have to rely on Jesus. But you know, you start to kinda like, man, am I really Am I really Christian here, am I really doing these things? Right.

doing what I should be doing. et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

So when I was looking at this, at Matthew twenty five and seen the reaction of the just. like almost dumbfounded. That like we didn't do anything righteous.

Well, when did we do these things? Jesus is giving an illustration. Remember, to covenant Israel to people who were under the law. and Israelites who see salvation based on their goodness.

so he's teaching them accordingly. And what's interesting is in that section of Scripture, there's no mention of the cross, atoning sacrifice, or justification by faith.

So what's really going on. And it seems to be a demonstration of true believers versus true non-believers. There's going to be a difference in attitude. And the believers, to some degree we could say, aren't even aware of what they're doing in a good way. It's not something they boast in, not something that they They raised their flag about Hey, look at me When do we do these things?

There seems to be something like that going on.

Okay. Okay, and kind of seemed like the opposite of Matthew seven. Like people and it's kind of like what the just star. For the unjust star. Like look what I've done or hey, if I knew it was you, Jesus, I would have done these things.

Yeah, so there's always an appeal to what they're doing as opposed to a believer is to the appeal of, well, it can't be me. There's something to that, but I think what really is going on is there's going to be an appeal before God on the day of judgment.

Now, the implication here is Christ is already crucified. Ultimately, we know that would be necessary, be in the mind of Christ. On that day, they are appealing to various things. Oh, there's a break. Darn it.

So hold on.

Okay, hold on. We've got a little bit more to go through this on 9025. Right after the break, okay.

Okay, butter.

So hold on.

Um and we'll be right back. Hey folks, we'll be right back after these messages. And uh please stay tuned, okay? Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276.

Here's Matt Slick. All Roberti, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, you can. It is easy. All you got to do is dial 877207, except right now we don't have any open lines, so you won't be able to get through.

I just want to give you a reminder that we do stay on the air by your support, and we do need that. It's been very difficult lately, as a lot of ministries have experienced. But this is a particularly difficult time for us. Please consider supporting us. Go to carm.org, C-A-R-M.org, and Just uh look for the word donate at the top of the page.

That's all you got to do and set it up. It'd be great. All right, let's get back on with Eric from Ohio. You still there, brother? Yeah, still there.

All right. Okay, so Jesus is showing the difference between the sheep and the goats. They're different in nature. Goats are lost, the unredeemed. And the sheep are the the saved.

the redeemed. And the evidence of their nature is demonstrated by their works. And Jesus talks about this kind of thing elsewhere. Matthew 7:18, or 7, 17, 18, he says, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit.

Luke 6:43, there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree that produces good.

So he's giving them the information that they know about what they are by their nature. And the evidence of it is what they do.

Okay. You there?

Okay, yeah. Um Well, you got a lot of callers waiting, so I'll I'll just uh let it go for now. I was just really interested in the um Just the attitude that believers have compared to unbelievers. and how they see themselves. Yes, um There should be a humility with believers, and that they're not even aware to a degree of the goodness that they might do.

And um Because as you grow closer to Christ, That's something that happens because you start realizing you're not as good as you thought you were. And so, well, when did I do that? And so I've said this on the radio before when I get to heaven. And God points in my direction and says, well done. I'm turning around to see who He's talking to.

Because Because he's not talking to me. Because even though I've done a lot of stuff, I've never done a single thing, in my opinion, from a pure heart.

So You know, all he can do is stumble forward. And hope that God uses us in spite of our sinfulness. And maybe that's part of the attitude of the sheep there. That day they go, when do we do that? You know, I'm hoping that's what it is.

It's okay. Yeah, the tape. All right. Thank you for your time, man. I really appreciate it.

All right, brother. God bless, brother.

Okay. All right, next longest waiting is Elijah from Pennsylvania. Welcome, you're on the air. Hey man, um So my question for you today is out of John 2.4. Um I heard a Muslim say to a Christian in a recent exchange.

He said that uh Jesus was a sinner because Jesus spoke back to his mother in John 2:4. And when I first heard that, I busted out last day. Um Okay. And we go to John 2 for the wedding wedding. Yeah.

Uh He was uh correcting his mother.

Okay, that's all he was doing. Uh Because she wanted him to do stuff, and he said, My time has not yet come. He says, Woman, what does this have to do with us? My hour is not yet come. It's not an insult.

uh because ultimately he was crucified for his miracles that he was doing. And the Pharisees didn't like what was happening. Pharisees and Sadducees worked against him. And so It was not a rebuke because he could not have broken the law. He could not have.

It was not a sinful anything, as I need to say. It could not. have been anything wrong because he always did what was right. And it's really interesting. And so the Quran teaches in Surah Nineteen Nineteen.

That Jesus never sinned. Gabriel speaking to Mary about the coming birth, says, I'm only the messenger of your Lord to give you news of a pure boy. And so it's generally understood that that means that he never sinned.

So you can ask the Muslim: did Jesus ever sin? No. Oh, good.

Okay, well we agree with that. And he's just uh correcting his mom. There's nothing wrong with correcting your mom. If your mom says something that's just wrong against God, you say, Mom, that's not right, blah, blah, blah. Doesn't mean you've sinned.

Because honoring your mother and your father doesn't mean that you allow them to do what is wrong or you follow them into sin. And so Mary Mary was politely um let us say, politely rebuked. My hour has not yet come. They killed him for his miracles. She was asking to do a miracle.

'cause she knew who he was, And he says, My time's not yet.

So he's correcting her, but yet at the same time, He he did what she said. He helped her. He helped people out.

Okay. Yeah, and uh what's what's interesting is that No, this is the this isn't the only time I've you know, heard Muslims uh uh disrespect Jesus because recently I also heard a a Muslim I tried to argue that there was another Jesus around, I think, the 60s AD. Uh who was named uh Jesus son of Sapphias, who like led a uh Jewish revolt. And he was trying to say that this Jesus was more More famous and popular than Jesus of Nazareth in the first century. And I find it interesting how.

Muslims are so desperate to try to debunk Christianity that they'll debunk their own prophets in Islam. Like, they they they believe that Jesus was a prophet in their religion, but yet they're over here disrespecting their own prophet. You know, I j I just don't get it. Um Well, think of this. Think of the Moslem religion being authored from the devil, and the servants of the who are Moslems sometimes give themselves over to demonic things, and they'll speak forth their lies.

Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Yep. Yeah, I believe Islam is Uh the uh is A counterfeit form of Christianity authored by Uh the devil. Who is if Muhammad even existed.

And there's debate about that increasing now. A compilation or a coalesced figure, there's some interesting evidence. And um So there's that. But at the very least, the Islamic religion teaches conversion by violence. It teaches, it denies the true God, denies the true Christ, denies the.

the crucifixion. and it denies a resurrection. And it denies salvation by grace through faith. It denies all the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. And then there's uh There's the The right.

To oppress others who don't agree with them. This is exactly what you would see in a demonic religion. And what I've seen in cults, uh mind control cults, where they they they foment control over individuals and punishment of those who don't abide by it. Uh this is just uh what Islam is. It's a false pagan religion.

And it is not of God, and I'll just go so far as to say: I don't believe it should be allowed in America. Yep, that's how bad it is.

Okay? Yeah. Um uh what was what what was I gonna say? Um Uh Oh, yeah, this. This one last thing.

So, I don't know if a Muslim ever made this argument against you before, but I was saying the devil's advocate and trying to think of a Muslim arguing against Christianity. And I thought of this.

Okay, since uh Christians like to say that Muhammad couldn't have been a prophet because he was a pedophile and God would never choose a pedophile to be a prophet. What if a Muslim would say, Well, Moses was a murderer and God chose him, so God can choose a murderer to be a prophet, why can't he choose a pedophile to be a prophet? And how would you respond to that? I'd say, oh, so you admit he was a pedophile? Interesting.

Okay. Well Okay, I just wanted to get that straight. You admitted that, that's fine. We know that Moses was a murderer, and we know that he spent 40 years in the desert being disciplined by God, and God chose him specifically. But um Yeah, so you admit he was a pedophile.

Wow, okay. Interesting.

Yeah, okay.

Okay. All right. Yeah. All right, man. It was great talking to you.

All right, man. God bless, buddy. All right. Hey, folks, just want to let you know that we stay on the air by your support. Please consider supporting us.

We definitely do need that. Go to carm.org and top of the page, look for donate and help us out. We would like that. Let's get to Jermaine from Georgia, Jermaine, welcome, man. You're on the air.

Or California, you're just where you go. Um Hey, Matt. I know we only have a few minutes here. I wanted to ask about Romans 16:7 and might have to pick it up tomorrow, but. I've seen a lot of people use that as a proof text.

to say that it should be okay for females to Hold the position of Senior pastor. Or whatever because um That uh a female was an apostle. But I know there's more to it, so I wanted to hear what you had to say about it. Yes, uh, it says Junius, my kinsmen and fellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles.

so my kinsmen and fellow prisoners If Junius is an apostle and Greet Andronicus and Junius, that would mean both were then apostles. my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners. Who are outstanding among the apostles? That would mean Andronicus is also an apostle by that logic. Or what it could also mean is they are outstanding people that the apostles are aware of.

Now there are different kinds of apostles as well. There's seven different kinds.

Some apostles are among the twelve. They performed miracles, some wrote scripture. Paul was an apostle, maybe a unique position specifically commissioned by Christ. Barnabas was an apostle, performed no miracles, wrote no scripture. Jesus is called an apostle.

There are apostles in the sense of simply being sent. They're messengers. That's Philippians 1:19, John 20:19. It could possibly be that anyone who's involved with Christ's ministry before his death and saw him after his resurrection could be referred to as an apostle. And there are false apostles.

So I'm just saying there are seven categories of apostles. That are taught in the scriptures. And the word Junius there is in the feminine form.

Now uh it's a Singular feminine form.

So, this is why some will say they could be an apostle. Let's just say hypothetically, it means that they were an apostle. Yeah. In what sense and what category is she an apostle, such are seven categories. Which one is it?

And it still doesn't mean she's a preacher or an elder because it says an elder is to be an hermius gunaikas, a man of one woman, a husband of one wife.

So then what they would be doing is setting scripture against scripture by trying to go to Revelation 16, Romans 16:7, say Junius. And then that means they're setting scripture against scripture. They're not understanding the context of both, and this would be a bad thing for them to do. Does that help? Yeah, that helped, and I'll try and pick it up tomorrow to have some more.

Questions by that I it seems like a lot of like Isoging the text to Get it to say what you'd like it to say. Yes. That's right.

But uh yeah, we we can pick it up tomorrow when uh we have more time. Absolutely better.

Sounds good. All right, ma'am. All right. God bless you now.

Okay. Now it's Oscar from New York. We don't have time to get to you. On Ephesians 2:20. I'm sorry we've got 30 seconds left in the show.
