The Reformation was a pivotal moment in Christian history, sparked by Martin Luther's 95 theses in 1517. This movement, which began as a response to the corruption and abuses within the Catholic Church, ultimately led to the emergence of Protestantism and the fragmentation of Christianity into various denominations. The Reformation was not a single event, but rather a culmination of various reform movements that had been building for centuries, including the work of John Wycliffe, the Hussites, and the Waldensians. As Dr. Abadan Shah notes, the Reformation was a response to the church's loss of its core, and it shows that when the church veers from its true path, people will seek truth and reform. [... more]

The Bible contains the whole of the faith delivered to the saints, and it's the only objective, reliable statement of God's Word. The problem is not with the Word, but with the listening. We should be pursuing church unity, not content with division, and look into the scripture and study it in community. The New Testament letters assume the responsibility of the whole Christian community to pursue the truth, and we must take responsibility for ourselves, not lay it on someone else. [... more]

Calvin Coolidge was born in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, to a family of modest means. He grew up in a rural community where hard work and self-reliance were highly valued. Coolidge's parents instilled in him a strong sense of morality and a commitment to public service. He attended Amherst College, where he studied law and developed a passion for politics. Coolidge's early career was marked by his service as a lawyer and a politician, eventually leading to his election as governor of Massachusetts. His leadership during the Boston police strike in 1919 made him a national figure, and he was chosen as the Republican vice presidential candidate in 1920. After President Warren Harding's death in 1923, Coolidge became the 30th President of the United States, serving two terms and implementing policies of 'return to normalcy' and fiscal responsibility.
