This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing.
I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Oh, it is eleven three, and it is what an election day, and it is also like I had a grandbaby this morning at eight o'clock.
Well, your daughter had a baby. I yeah, that's true. My daughter had Beatrix June. Right, just unbelievably, my ninth grandchild, and I'm just couldn't be more excited that she was born on 11 3. And so, because you know, I I have Doctor.
Date the word Carson in front of me, and immediately, you know, I have to tell you the story. I'm going to get to the question in a second. The the question is, you know, how did God give you? Your daily bread this morning. If you want to call us now at eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four, that'd be fun.
But the reason that fits so appropriately is because my son-in-law this morning, man of few, so few words. It's unbelievable, right? We get a text this morning at seven twenty. Baby coming. At eight o'clock, we get a second text, baby here, right?
And this is the only word we have, right? We're like we're we're waiting in this hospital. Four words. What more do you need? Right, because it takes you know nowadays between the time the baby's born and you get a chance to go up to see your daughter and the baby and make sure everybody's healthy and all that stuff, the only thing well we knew D well enough to know that he's very very amazing.
Like I don't know how I could be so lucky that God would give my daughter such a husband, but he is a man of few words. Baby coming, baby here, right?
So we just had to assume, and we knew D well enough. If it was anything complicated or something, he would have said something. But this is all you need to know, right? And and so when I said that to Doc, immediately said that's perfect with Luke eleven three, which says what Doc, give us this day. Our daily bread, right?
Few words. Few words. He had very few words, but I'm guessing that you like me and like Doc, right? Doc was studying something he had never studied before, and I loved what he told me this morning. He said, "I never wanted to preach on this verse.
I never," and then it fell right in my lap. He has to do truth. Walking to Wednesday and tomorrow, yeah.
So. And I had an amazing time before I got the text at seven twenty, in the Song of Solomon chapter one verse sixteen. And so, how about you? Like, what was the daily bread? And maybe it was just some somebody said.
Maybe it was something you heard in a podcast. Maybe it was something you heard on the Truth Network. We would love to hear what was your. Cause he gives it to you, I promise. Eight six six, three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
But right before we went on the air, right, our boss, Stu Epperson, he called because it was on his heart. Like, man, you got two hours to get two and a half hours. We got to be at the polls by seven thirty, right? Right. Depends on which state you're in.
We know we got listeners all over the country, so you got you got to check because some people right now in Utah they still got plenty of time, but you've got to find out when the polls close. But before those polls close, you've got to get there, go and vote. It's it's it's an amazing opportunity that God gave us. Yes, and whichever side, you know, whatever it is that that God gives you to do, you know, look over the ballot. And I, you know, I'm one of those people that always votes on election day.
I'm like I don't like the early voting program, and so I went this morning just after the baby was born. I had a very exciting morning, and saw so many people at the polls that I knew well. Yeah. And you know just.
So, people you saw there—they were people there to vote, or you saw poll workers. Both, both.
Well, where I live in you know, Rockingham County, you know, we don't have a huge precinct, so you know, most everybody knows. You know, most people that live around there, and so I saw you know the people voting, I knew well, and the people in the poll workers, I knew them well too, and we just had a nice little. It was wonderful, and I walked out there. I said, Tammy, man, if there. There's ever an easy place to go vote and and feel like your vote actually is getting counted, etc.
I'm just blessed to be in that situation. But maybe you have a comment about the election. Maybe you have strong feelings. You know that's why we have a live program at four o'clock on the Truth Network. Our boss, Stu, this is his heart.
Right. He wants our audience to have a voice and. Doc and I would both agree. There's nothing more blessed than your phone calls from. Love hearing from our listeners.
Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
So this morning you had to, you had to get ready for this Wednesday in the Word, and you landed on this. You know what are you going to do with this bond woman? I, I was thinking even later this afternoon. I don't even have any of the verses. That I'm teaching on tomorrow as part of anything with date the word, if if your birthday falls between four twenty one and four thirty, you'll never get Galatians four twenty one or twenty two or twenty three all the way because I've never those verses are so what in the world is this all about?
But Stu asked if I would teach for him tomorrow, and So, I have a feeling. Here we go. When we record in next April, I wouldn't be a bit shocked if you don't teach on it because God taught you so much this morning.
Well, I'm telling you to learn about how the bondwoman is going to be a picture of someone in slavery, and Sarah. Is the free woman, and when you're the mom, but whoever your mom is, that determines your status. You're either free, or you're a slave. Right, and in Israel, very much so, and it's this way today. You, your bloodline comes through your mother, not through your father, and so fascinatingly, when Tammy and I were in the accident last March.
Around that four twenty four thirty day, interestingly. Anyway, my rabbi friend, who's an Orthodox rabbi, do Robbie and the Rabbi Voices from Zion podcast. You know, I talked to him. All he was like, Robbie, I want to pray for you, but I need to know your mother's name. Because our prayers go like this, and he asked for Tammy's mother's name too, which my mother's name was Marjorie, and my wife's name was mother's name was Nelda, and so he was said, he said we'll pray like this, you know, Robert, son of Marjorie.
You know, we pray, and then, and so he brings the bloodline through my mother, your mother, and fascinatingly, same thing with my wife. He, you know, Tammy, daughter of Nelda, and so what? What Doc is saying here is that that that's the reason he doesn't. Pick on Abraham in this particular equation. Yeah, he he goes to Sarah and Hagar.
Sarah and Hagar, and who's your mama? Not who's your dad. Who's your daddy? No, who's your mama? And if you're coming through Sarah, born of promise, and so.
It's all about faith or works again. That's all Galatians is trying to convey. Are you going to go back to Moses? Are you going to go to the Messiah? One's got you working, working, working, and it never ends.
You'll never do enough work. Where Jesus did it all. He said it is finished. The Father accepted it. Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father.
It's done. My salvation. Listeners, hear this: If you've trusted Jesus Christ, it's taken care of. It's taken care of. Satan can say you still didn't do enough.
It doesn't matter what he says; he's a liar. Jesus took care of it, and we're supposed to cast out this mindset of ever trying to do any work for our salvation. After we're saved, we work for the Savior. Not for a salvation, and when I was a going through my religion rebellion religious days, Robbie, this weight became unbearable. I knew I could never do enough good to ever satisfy God.
Jesus satisfied it for me. He took care of me. Right. Well, we got to go to a break, but we would love to hear from you. What was your daily bread this morning that God taught you?
That just like man, I did not see that coming. Or maybe got some comment about the election or something else that's on your mind. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
Cast out that bondwoman. We got more on that when we come back, Steve. You are listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork dot com. Welcome back to True Talk Live. Today's question: Give us this day.
It's Luke eleven three. Today is eleven three. It's also election day. Give us this day our daily bread. You know what was what was the daily bread that God gave you?
You know, and I love again. We're talking about Doc's daily bread came out of Galatians, and that that story about cast out the bondwoman, which which is a fascinating story again because again, what happened there was we know that Abraham. Right, he believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness. But this part of the story, he didn't completely believe God, and he thought he would work his way into having a baby. And what you end up with is Ishmael.
We end up with human ingenuity. Which that? How do we get saved? We start coming up with our own thinking. If I do this, if I do that, I'll be good enough.
No, it's God's way. And so when a you know Sarah eleven eleven is going to be Hebrews eleven eleven where Sarah, she finally came to the place she laughed at God, but then she believed the one who made the promise would keep the promise. That's absolutely yeah. And so, like Galatian, right? Like you, foolish Galatians, how did you go back to you know the whole thing?
It's just so beautiful. And again, that was you know, it's it's isn't it amazing to me? Those of us who who. Have this opportunity to have daily bread. Like, here's a man that you know.
He he does date the word. He he's pretty familiar with the Bible. Like, but yet every single day you talk to him. I do a lot. He's always got something that God lit his fire with.
Right? That he never knew before. He never saw before. I don't think you could ever. You can't exhaust scripture.
Can't do it.
So we got Mike, is in Ohio. I bet he's in Dayton, Ohio. I'm just guessing. Oh, Mike! Welcome to Truth Talk Live.
Well, thank you for taking my call. Hey, um, yeah, God's been dealing with my daily bread too, and um, not I haven't been struggling with this too much.
So maybe later I might. That's how God works. Yeah, it is.
So and um. You know the daily bread. Worrying about tomorrow—that's—that's what I'm getting out of it. Our min study just got done with the the Lord's prayer and giving us our daily bread, and we just talked about that. And it's amazing how God just keeps coming at you with.
The daily bread and worry and and that kind of stuff, and I'm saying, well, God, I'm not worrying right now.
So, what's coming up, you know? And and I'm worried that I'm not worried about something. I'm not. I'm worried about. I'm worried about something.
Yeah. And you know, with you know, with the war going on with Iran and. And the rumors on Facebook about the the power shutting off. Go get some food and ninety days of food. I'm hearing it.
Everybody hears it. I'm sure. And you know, we need to put our trust in God. You know, and and we need to keep our trust in God. And that's where God is saying.
Hey, Mike. Don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow has enough worry about itself. Yeah, there. I think that's scripture you just said there.
I think that's Matthew six thirty-four. That's just that's it. If there were thirty four days in June, we'd have that as a date. The word, but unfortunately, just because because it follows after he gives that great statement, seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you. If you put Jesus first, you don't have to worry about tomorrow.
You know what I love, Mike? Is if you look in Isaiah in Isaiah eleven, is You know, actually, verses one through three about it. It gives you the seven anointings of the Holy Spirit, or it's you know, it gives you the wisdom. You know, he's going to again give him wisdom and understanding and counsel and might and knowledge. But then he says, "The fear of the Lord." That's number six, and the seventh is a delight in the fear of the Lord.
And when you Realize what that's saying is that not only am I realize that I need to fear the Lord. But I'm at the point that I realized that my dad is so big and so bad that I'd have nothing, like nobody, no how, no way, could ever get to me to really hurt me because the one who is the most powerful in the universe is absolutely in love with me. And the way I put it to my wife the other day, Mike, was this because she was really worried about some stuff, and I and she was sitting there. We have this dog, it's a Dachshund named Ruby, and it was sitting right next to her, just. You know, I said, "Do you know how much you love Ruby, Tammy?" Oh my gosh!
You know, I I love her with all my heart. I said, "I know." I said, "Can you imagine how much more God loves you than you love Ruby?" Just for a second, just just think about that.
Now, do you would you ever let anything what it was in within your power truly hurt her? You may have to take her to the vet and let her get a shot and stuff that would hurt her. But would you ever, ever, ever, ever let anything hurt her? Based, I said, how do you think God would ever let anything like that to happen to you? And you know, the more I've thought about that, I was talking to myself.
Talking to Tammy like, yeah, that makes perfect sense, Robbie.
So why are you thinking about, you know, worried about the election or things like that, Mike? I mean, I get it. I I'm with it. Yeah, and and I'm trying to calm my wife down about this as well. Isn't that ironic that my wife is Tammy and we just gave my son a dog in a way?
It's it's ironic. Do you guys have a dog? You can try it on it. But you know, God is God is good about giving us scriptures how to lean on Him. You know, and and then not work, not try to figure it out on our own.
You know, I I love that so much, and I I just have to say this because what you just said is so powerful. You know, I had Bob Young, my Christian. John Cargan, the Christian car guy, showing this. What he said: "You you can write this down, use it if you want to, Pastor, because I know it's it's so profoundly said." A lot of people believe in Jesus. He said.
But there aren't so many that lean on Jesus. And if I could sing, I'd break into leaning on the everlasting arms. I always say, "That's yes." It's so powerful. I've thought about that also since ever since just got my soul, and I'm like, "Yeah, yeah." Do do do you believe it? Go ahead, Mike.
I'm sorry, I keep interrupting you. No, you're great, man. I love you both, all my heart. You know, I mean, you guys are so awesome, both of you. I'm so.
I wake up in the morning and I go to my phone and Dr. Carson. I look at this email and and this that Percy just said was it popped up and and I pondered on it all day and and you know. Give us our daily bread, and and it's it's so, it's so gratifying that God just just tells us what you need to hear, and He's going to do that for us, you know, and and He gets it to us with people that, yeah, part of what you just said makes so much sense that you know I. I can't tell you the stuff I get from the Truth Network, right?
But it came from God, right? I mean, it was His message, it was His word. He got it to me through the Truth Network, or He got it to me, you know, through my pastor, or He got it to me through somebody else, you know, wherever He got it to me. But He gets it to me, and that's the that's the deal. And you know, we all have the same spirit.
And time and time again, it's interesting how he's got us all kind of on the same lesson plan, Doc. Yeah, Amen. And our, our, I'm sorry, Doc, I'm interrupt you. But our sunny, our Sunday school class is talking about anxiety and and how to trust in the Lord as well. And and it's it's so it's so amazing how God just keeps.
Firing the darts around us. I mean, he just keeps shoots outward. All right, he's got he's got some firepower. He does. We got to go to a break, Mike.
I'm sorry, but man, as always, I love you. I'm glad you voted. Excited about what God's going to do. We'll be right back. We need your calls.
Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today is Election Day, and so. You know what an opportunity we have to make an impact for the kingdom, right? That you get to cast your vote, which could make all the difference, or it might not.
But the good news is, you know, I'm going to go to bed tonight knowing I did my I did what God put on my heart to do, which was, you know, I was given this right. People died for that right, you know. Um, amount of people that invested their life in government and serving this country, that that people would be responsible in order to do that stuff. You know, it it you make an impact, and it's a privilege and it's a responsibility, right. And with all privileges comes responsibilities, right?
As you might remember, they used to say rank has its privileges.
Well, guess what? Rank has its poss responsibilities as well. And so, you know, freedom isn't free. And one of those things we have to do, right, is make sure the next generation that was just born for me was, you know, I've got one on the way, and you know, that's that's pretty. Exciting stuff, but today is also eleven three, which tells us because we're with Doctor Date the Word that in the in the Lord's Prayer is where this is yes is is found in in Luke eleven three, and fascinatingly, you know, the structure of the prayer is such that he makes a great deal out of God that you know.
Our Father, art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Right. He's setting all this up as as a point of worship, and and putting God on His throne to make sure that you know before we have any request, and then fascinatingly.
When he when he starts with the request, like you said, Doc, he's a man of few words. Man of few words. This this is considered the hinge verse. Everything's been about God so far, but now give us our daily bread, and and immediately there's this thought of like, well, that's so simple. I mean, we're just talking about bread and water, but no, God's interested.
In that, and He wants us to ask for the basics, and so one of the sentences I put in my devotion was that while we might consider this too small for our Father in Heaven, I like to say there's nothing too big to ask of God. There is also nothing too small to ask of God. And so right now you may be standing going, well, I don't. I the request that I need to talk to God about, He doesn't have time for this. Yes, he does.
While while there may be someone right now asking God for ten million dollars, or in some cases at Liberty University, where Dr. Falwell was raising money, fifty million dollars.
Okay, he's also interested in you today, asking him just to make sure that you have the ability to get to work so that you can get a paycheck, so that you can feed your children. Ask him to provide. Ask him to open the doors. And so, over the years, you know, as the Christian car guy, many people may know that I also and that that radio show I've had for over twenty years. But you know, a number of years ago, I'm always getting asked to do interviews on other radio shows across the country, and I got asked to do an interview with G.
Gordon Liddy, who. Not a Christian at the point in time he has this interview, but he's fascinated by the idea that my title or my radio show is called the Christian Car Guy. He says sounds like an oxymoron, right? It's not making a lot of sense. But what he said, and after he got done with the humor part of it, he said, and he was being very sincere with his question, Doc.
He said, "So Robbie." Do you mean to tell me that if you're underneath a car turning a wrench, God really has any interest in that? What a beautiful question! That was a beautiful question. I mean, it was a very sincere question. It was a very beautiful question, and and I said, Mister Liddy, let me tell you that one of the joys in life.
Is turning wrenches when you're turning it the way you feel like God told you to do it, and to feel His pleasure because remember, when in in Charities of Fire, right, and that that famous line where you know the the the runner said, you know, I can feel God's pleasure when I run. God's pleasure.
Well, believe me when I tell you that a Christian mechanic. Feels God's pleasure when he's in communion with God, as he's turning that wrench, or if you're at a computer today and and and you're a clerk somewhere, if you're punching those keys in communion with God, knowing that He wanted you to punch those keys or whatever it was, you know, then then. Whatsoever you do, and you do it as unto the Lord, and and there is the beauty of the simplicity of a true relationship with God. Means right that in prayer constantly, right? And you could have told him one of your birthday verses, Robbie Matthew ten thirty.
You know, not only is he interested in me turning a wrench, G G Gordon, listen. He's so interested. He counted every hair on my head today, Matthew ten thirty. He knows the hairs on your head. Why, God, have you taken time to get to know that detail?
There's other areas of my life.
Well, Duane, if I'm interested in knowing how many hairs you have, I am interested in every, every, every, every of your life. You're my child. Yes.
So, what if what daily bread did God give you today? Maybe gave you something that just wow'd you. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. At my church, we are doing a. Walk through the Song of Solomon.
One of my, in fact, it is my favorite book in the Bible, and the verse that I was studying this morning. Although nobody would know the hours that I've spent in this book, it's like, "Hello, Song of Solomon, chapter one, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again. I've been there so much; it's unbelievable." But in verse sixteen, the, uh. Of chapter one.
Of chapter one, the the bride is responding to the bridegroom who just said, "Behold, thou art beautiful." Behold, thou. He says it twice to make sure that she gets the picture, that that she's beautiful. She responds by in verse sixteen, by using the exact same word, saying, "In a way, I'm beautiful because I reflect you." Right, because I'm a reflection of you, and that's as it were a reflection of Christ. And then there's this at the end of it. It says, "And you're most pleasant." Which, if you look at the 16th Psalm, this is the 16th verse, and it's the 16th Psalm that it lines up with.
It says, "You are also pleasant." Well, that word "pleasant" is the same word is the last verse in the 16th Psalm. Which is at his right hand. The end of it is, you know, pleasures. Right, in his presence is fullness of joy. At his right hand, our pleasures for evermore.
There's the word pleasures.
Okay, so she uses that just to give you an idea of of she's experiencing Jesus for sure. And then at the end, she says something peculiar. She said, "And our bed is green," or. You know, our bed is verdant. If you are looking in the King James version or something, but it's always been a very fascinating.
And obviously, you see that would mean that that's fruitful that they're going to have children, and that's beautiful, and that's obvious. What isn't so obvious that I discovered this morning, and I always knew that the word in Greek that I mean, in the word in Hebrew that's described as a bed, there had to do with an arch. And the arch that it's making reference to, as you do a deep study of it, you'll find that there is a bed chamber in both the tabernacle and in the temple that is actually the sanctuary, and that when when Solomon makes reference in the third chapter of the Song of Solomon about this bed, he's he is actually referring to. The sanctuary, and so when I think it was Josiah was kept kept by his nurse in the temple. He was kept in the bed chamber.
Yep, which was the sanctuary, and Rashi and old ancient, you know, Hebrew scholars. They they put it there. They they understood that the idea of the sanctuary is it is a place that is verdant. It is a place that that that produces life. In other words, you want to be connected to the vine.
You want to bear much fruit, right? Be in the sanctuary.
Well, the reason that's so applicable to my life and yours is we are the temple of the Holy Spirit now, right? And so, if Our bed is vert is green. In other words, we're gonna as as we commune with God, right? The idea of that is is going to bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing, right?
And and so the the beautiful thing of that is, I just saw that, and just like I was saying, this daily bread. I've looked at this verse. I can't tell you how many times I did a whole podcast on it once. Just this verse. Um.
So I was not unfamiliar with the verse, but oh my goodness. Like another feast to another level, not not necessarily deeper, but just to another level of understanding that makes the scriptures so much more beautiful, right? Right, right, right, and so I know as I'm saying that I'm, I'm thinking this morning you got to look at something that you had not seen before, and so by sharing it on the air with us, we can all get a vision of what you got to see. Like Doc got to see, um, you know, throughout the Bond woman, and and I got to see mine. What was yours?
Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four. Truth, of course, we don't want to discount, uh, the. Election, any way, shape, or form. If you've got some strong opinion on that, or even whatever you want to say, we would love to hear it. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
Clearly, you know it's time to get out there and you know and do what you can do. Or you know maybe you did it and you're feeling good about it. Maybe you had a good time doing it. You want to call in and talk about that? It's awesome.
Because when it comes to voting, I, I've had the opportunity, Robbie, to be in Russia, and walk there in Moscow on Red Square. I've been in Beijing. I've walked on Tiananmen Square. I was there in Russia when. Had opportunity, communism was in pretty well still enforce.
The wall there in Germany was starting to come down when we went to Russia, there nineteen eighty nine. But there was still communism, and we were singing on Red Square, "Amazing Grace." It's Thanksgiving in America. The snow is falling on on Red Square. It was so beautiful, and we're singing Amazing Grace, and a policeman came over and said, "Stop singing that song." Not stop singing, stop singing that song. That's not permitted at this place.
And on Tiananmen Square, with it with in China, you can't spit because that's a form of protest. But yet here in America, I have freedom, and one of those great freedoms is to vote.
So please go and thank God. And if your name is Gaston, you can spit. We need your calls eight six six three four eight seven eight. You might get that later eight six six three four eight seven eight four. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Welcome back to Truth Talk Live today. If I could talk, and the question we would love—oh, we would love to hear from you—eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. The question is: Give us this day. It's eleven three, right? And so, November the third.
In the Lord's Prayer, Luke eleven three, it says, "Give us this day our daily bread." That has a lot of different ways that you might look at that. How does it work out for you? Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four.
Did it give you something today? Maybe gave it to you where you're voting. I don't know, but we would love to know because those God nudgers are what our whole audience, everybody's anxious to hear. You know something that you delighted in that you had a chance to experience from God today. You know another way that I ask that question, Robbie, is what did you have to eat this morning spiritually?
Jeremiah fifteen sixteen. Your words were found, and I did eat them, and they became the joy and the word you just used, delight to my soul, because I am called by your name, O Lord God of hosts. Wow, Jeremiah fifteen sixteen. What did you have to eat this morning? And if there was a fifteenth month, you could do that.
I know, but since it's Jeremiah fifteen sixteen, so I work it in another place. This, so maybe if your high school jersey was fifteen or sixteen, you could you could have that as your Bible verse if if that was your high school jersey. But I like that Jeremiah fifteen sixteen. Jeremiah fifteen sixteen. Your words were found, and I did eat them.
I remember doing a, as you were talking about how God has certain people speaking in your life. Charles Spurgeon, I found Jeremiah fifteen sixteen from reading one of his sermons on the scriptures, and he said, "Our bloodline." Should be so filled with Scripture that it's it's bibline. Eat the Word till your bloodline becomes bibline. I thought that was interesting, Spurgeon. That he had several sermons on the Song of Solomon.
Seriously, yes. And actually, it's really cool. In the Blue Letter Bible app, I don't know if y'all have seen this, but if you just click on a verse, and it will show you the commentaries that are on that verse. And certain ones, you know. And when Spurgeon does a comment, he doesn't do a commentary.
He does a whole sermon. Yeah, doesn't do a comment. He does. And so when you read one, you got to be prepared for a good little read there. And they're well worth it.
Because you you'll never be the same. The man had such relationship with Jesus that clearly he understood his word in amazingly beautiful ways. You know, and one of his favorite books was the Song of Solomon. And and and interestingly, in one of the sermons he wrote, he said, "You will see a thousand commentaries on any." Of the Pauline letters, he said. But how many commentaries do you see on the Book of John, or the Gospel?
Not the Gospel John, but the Book of First John or Second John, that here are some of the simplest words ever read. But you won't see many commentaries on there because they're so deep in love. Like love is is the gigantic theme of those books, and at that time in his life, apparently there weren't that many commentaries on First John. I just found that fascinating. He said, "But even fewer still you'll find on the Song of Solomon, because it it takes this lens of love in order to to realize what God is really showing us in that book." I just you know again he had.
Just an amazing, amazing ministry, amazing opportunity to minister.
So, so your daily bread. What did you have to eat? Which leads to what are you chewing on? Because that's meditation, right? And the reason you've got to get that daily bread.
Man should not live by bread alone. Yes, there's the physical bread you've got to get. You're looking for God to help you have the ability, but it's also, Lord, I need your spiritual bread so I can chew on it, meditate on it, and and and Psalms one nineteen one thirty. I open my mouth. What did you open your mouth to receive this morning?
And it speaks of God's word being wonderful. I've been that—that's been on me for about three weeks now. That's not just this morning. I just keep thinking, wonderful words of life. They are what's been on me actually since I did a podcast.
About ten days ago, with Rabbi Heim, and he talked about something I did not know. That at the end of the Festival of Sukkot, which is their. Feast of Booths, right? And you may know Jesus stood up at that ceremony and and and you know talked about living water because that was the big time where they call for the rains. And in Israel, and I did know this: in Israel, the raining season starts right then, and those prayers for rain are huge because if the rainy season doesn't come there, you're kind of out of luck.
What I did not know was that that began the prayers for rain. For that whole rainy season, but they change the prayers up on the first day of Passover, and they quit praying for rain because if it rains then, because now the fields, the the fields are ripe, and a lot of times already harvested, then the rain would cause the crops to rot, and so they switch the prayers on the first day of Passover from prayers for rain. For prayers for due, and again for those may not be familiar that Passover is Easter essentially for for Christians. In other words, the the the the date of you know the Last Supper was a Passover Seder, and you know clearly he was the the Lamb that was slain, etc., etc. And the dates line up perfectly and so fascinatingly.
The time of year, and I'm, you know, I don't have a lot of answers on it yet, Doc. I just know that I've been chewing on the fact that wow, and and you may know, I think it may be Psalm one, say, is it Psalm one seventy three, where it talks about the dew, Herman, um, so Psalm one thirty three, Psalm one thirty three, only one hundred and fifty psalms there, Robbie. I'll keep you straight. Good. I'm glad you do.
I knew there was a three in it, and I knew there was a one, but I didn't know one thirty-three, right? And that's the one where the whole psalm on unity is that the dew of human on Herman would be in that idea of dew on. It is like the dew of Herman. Descending upon the mountains of Zion, for there the Lord commanded the blessing, life for evermore. And think about that: life for evermore happened on Passover.
Right, and it goes from rain to dew. I, you know, again, just what do you? I love that idea. What, not only what did you eat, but what are you chewing on? Maybe you got something you're chewing on.
Eight six six. We got a minute. We'll get you in. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. I love to have those things I chew on.
Genesis twenty seven twenty eight. Therefore, may God give you the dew of heaven. The dew of heaven. I love that. I, growing up on a farm, close to the James River, I was just with the guy that's renting the farm from us, and we were talking about while everybody else seems to be having a dry year.
The farm on the James River is got green grass even now for the cows to eat because you get the fog, which then leaves the dew, and it's just a great feeling. You know that to walk on that in the morning and to know the grass has been watered by God, which gives you you know back to Psalm one, right? Planted by the rivers of water, rivers of water.
So you know, I never even considered that until just now. If you're planted by the rivers of water, not only obviously can your roots be possibly in the river, but even if you're just the grass with short roots, you're getting the dew. No. All this is coming from the Word of God. It's why, friends, it's so important.
Have that daily quiet time. Wisdom appeals. Please set at my gate every day, morning. Get there, Lord. Speak to me.
Open my eyes, I may behold wonderful things. That's the that's His Word coming to life, and and hopefully we're conveying today in this show. It. You never exhaust it. No, no, that's the it's the first verse in the gimel section of the 119th Psalm, the one you just quoted.
Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. And the gimel in Hebrew has this idea of provision, which ties us right back to Luke 11:3, doesn't it? Right, right. It is. It's all part of the same equation that you know God is providing that today.
For you this morning, and if you make your appointment, oh, he will make it worth your while. It's absolutely, you know, the I can't even imagine my life without it. I I don't want to think about it. Robbie, the other day, Friday, I was. Privileged to be a part of what's called the Golden Alumni.
I was a guest. I'm not one of the Golden Alumni. There's 76 graduates of Liberty University, but we went to Dr. Fallwell's house. First time I'd ever been in his house.
I've been to his house, but not in his house. And then they told us we could go into his study. And I don't know how many times I heard him talk about. This morning in my study, I was reading Oswald, Oswald Chambers, "My Upmost for His Highest," and I was reading God's. I was reading the One Year Bible.
I was reading out of Proverbs this morning. I was reading out of Psalms this morning. I was reading out of New Testament. And I thought, here's where this man got the dew of heaven on him, and he got what he could achieve. He got his daily bread every day, every day, and it made his life that he reflected Jesus right for all of us.
Well, thank you all so much for listening today. We got Peter Rosenberg tomorrow, so again, thank you so much for listening to the Truth Network.
