Edward Jones, member SIPC. All right, let me start hour number two with some reaction and a quick reminder that the Jim Rome Show is presented by Fanduel. We had our Fanduel segment yesterday with James Kelly, but Fanduel presents this show every single Monday through Friday. Great to have you here. All right, telephone number is one eight zero zero six three six eight six eight six.

Find me on social media on X, hit me up on email, or jump up into our chat. Here is some reaction: Brad in the PDX quote Cole. How did Trent Dilfer work out at UAB? Great job today. I'm surprised you've never been on at Jim Rome, at Cole Kubelik.

Unworn, my alma mater, Birmingham Southern, going out of business, bro. You're all over the damn map. Like so, he was great, or he wasn't, or he was great, but you don't agree with that one take. That's why I asked him the question.

So you've got North Carolina State, and I agree with him. Like Dave Doran, Dave Doran's a ball coach. Dave Doran did a really nice job there until they decided that he was no longer doing a nice job, and then they fired him.

So then immediately Philip Rivers is on the short list. All right, Phil is a legend of that program. Yeah, I don't buy so much the whole thing about yeah, his kid's coming too. His kid was coming anyway.

So you're going to get him anyway.

So if you get you don't you don't need the old man to get the kid because the kid was already a commit. But Philip Rivers makes some sense because he's such a big name and was kind of a coach on the field anyway and a potential Hall of Famer and had a great NFL career and is coaching high school ball, but. Coaching high school ball, no college experience, and I said, "Then, if not him, what do you make of this notion that Russett could come in? Russett has never coached ball at all. Why Russett?

And do you want guys coming in in this day and age to coach if they have no coaching experience at that level?" And I thought Cole's answer was really interesting. He said, "Five or ten years ago, hell no." It'd be a disaster, of course not. He said, "Bud, it has changed so dramatically." And what he said, I hear as well. There are so many coaches that don't get to coach ball; they're doing all these other things because of the changing landscape. They've got to raise money.

They have to worry about the portal. They have to worry about NIL. They have to worry about how much money they have to spend. They have to worry about how to spread that money out. They have to have a general manager.

Like all these things that get in the way of actually being a ball coach. I mean, if ever there was this notion of a CEO, that's what you need right now. But you need somebody that can rally a program.

Somebody who's got that juice. A guy like Phil Rivers can command a room, for sure.

Now, if Phillips is all about ball and only ball, he might not want to do those things. Russ does not strike me as a guy that's going to command that room, right? In name, but how else?

So I just don't know. Look at the coaches that are killing it right now. Look at the coaches that are just crushing in college. They're coaches. They're coaches, right?

They're coaches. And have had success, or their coaches that didn't come from a power conference that got their shot finally—a Curt Signetti, a Bob Chesney—it could work. You know, I wouldn't just say, "Look at Trent Dilfer; that didn't work," so therefore, it doesn't work. It didn't work with Trent, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't work. You got V in the fee.

"Quote: I'm not buying Kyler's hamstring injury." This is a soft benching because when someone scratched my hammy, I went down harder than JFK in Dallas. Toodles, Caleb Williams. Hey, VD, just crack on, man. Keep on about Caleb.

Meanwhile, the guy's playing better and better and better and better. And when he's been out there, he's been an MVP. And Chicago looks scary now. To your first point about Kyler, and that being a soft benching, yeah, I tend to agree with that. I can see that because they're going to go up against Buffalo, right?

What you don't want to do is run Kyler out there against Buffalo, have him go right into the tank, and have Buffalo beat them down and beat him down.

Now, if he's not right. Or if he's not right enough, and you've got something to hide behind, like that, like he has a quote sore hamstring, sure, go ahead and let Carson Wentz out there. And for some reason, Wentz v quote War Wentz throwing four hundred on Monday Night Football. If for some reason Wentz gets loose and throws for four hundred, then Koc can say, "Oh, I think I am going to quote play the hot hand." Here in another start, it's just hard for me to fathom that Kyler. Remember, I was the one.

The second that deal got done, I started hammering the future MVP bet for Kyler. I I just cannot get my head wrapped around how badly this guy's playing, how much trouble this guy's having in that system, and why we've even come to this.

Well, is it a soft benching? Like the hell happened to this guy? We saw what Sam Darnold did that in that system. We've seen what other guys would do in KOC, like Kyler Murray. This was a lifeline to save your salvage your career, possibly make a deep run.

Like I cannot believe. That this guy's having that much trouble in that system. If anything, just find JJ and get him the ball, man. With that defense, they're not asking you to do very much. You don't even need to be great.

You don't even need to be the guy that was the first pick overall. You don't even need to be be that guy. You don't need to be any kind of savior. You just need to not suck with that defense, or we wouldn't be having this conversation. And then there's this.

This goes back, but it gives me an idea going forward. All right, so I'm going to allow this. This goes back, but it gives me an idea going forward. Jim and Coachella, dear Jim, I don't know why people are so upset about my Halloween costume. Signed Jessica Alba.

All right, so I'm showing this right now on the stream. She went dressed as. Nancy Kerrigan, and people took great offense to that. You know, with all the bullcrap going on in the world, you are going to take great offense to that. I mean, she's got taped up bloody knee.

Tanya, right next to her, is with a bat. It said the real problem is not. Nancy with the taped up bloody knee. It's Tanya with the Louisville Slugger. Hey everyone, I am Tanya Harding.

The other problem is it's really not even accurate. It wasn't Tanya with the Louisville Slugger. It was Galooli with the steel baton.

So if you can actually do the costume, do the costume, do it right. Martha Stewart thinks that's insensitive. Martha obviously did not get the memo about no bum smack.

Well played, Martha. Not tone deaf at all. Anyway, anyway, that aside.

So I've got this idea. Everybody's so upset with Jessica, not me. Kind of clever. Kind of clever, actually, and then it got me thinking. You know, I really don't like Halloween, and I really don't like Halloween for adults.

But then I'm looking at this. All right, all right.

So I'm sticking up for Jessica because I think that's actually pretty funny. Nancy, Tanya, then I start thinking about other costumes. Then I start thinking about it's kind of like a jungle Halloween, isn't it? Clones, how pumped would you be? You don't need a smack off; you need a jungle Halloween party.

Clones, I have an idea. I don't know which establishment we would do this in, but can you imagine me, the crew, hosting a jungle Halloween party? Maybe some sports bar somewhere. With only jungle Halloween costumes, Nancy, Tanya, OJ, cut it, OJ, cut it, Bicycindy, come on, cut it, baby J, cut it, OJ. Anybody in the Rat Fam?

The entire Rat Fam, Mama Cass. Holy crap! Alvy can be the DJ and just mix the spooky mix live. Nage, imagine that a jungle Halloween party, and you can dress as anybody jungle-related that you want. Of course, Mama Cass.

Asap, as possible. I mean, pretty good idea, right? By pretty good idea, I mean like the best idea I've had in a minute. Anyway, Jim and Coachella. Hey, Jim, thanks for giving me the idea.

Look at this guy. It's Sweaty Cowdog on chat. Yo, chat, what's up, chat?

Somebody could be Steven Seagal.

Well, you can't really be Steven Seagal. You'd have to weigh like seven twenty.

Wells, that might be your way back in.

Wells, that might be your way back in.

The jungle. If there's a jungle Halloween party and somebody wants to be Seagal, you gotta look the part.

Wells, at seven twenty, bro, you might be. That might be your way back in. If we have the party, but it's obviously not happening this year. Check this guy out on chat, sweaty cow dog. Yo, Rome, currently listening from Japan.

War YouTube stream and War VD. You mean VD generally, or VD in the fee? I'm hoping you're warring VD in the fee. I hope you're not like just generically warring syphilis. Or gonorrhea, or the clap, bro.

Turn your turn your laptop around. Show me, show me Japan. Show me this. You're watching two hams, twenty dollars, half a season of studio work, and Mister Unlimited is already looking to be a coach. Must be great at studio analysis.

No Russ, Mister. You go see if that job is open. Why do I have a feeling that Russ? I mean, he did interview, reportedly. I don't know.

It feels a lot more like a pub grab than something he could actually do. Steve Rogers, B two K. Quinnin Williams has a big mouth for a guy who hasn't won a damn thing. Less talking, more tackling. Dallas already has enough noise.

I mean, what did he say that was wrong? Other than him telling somebody else to do better when he plays on the worst defense in the NFL, and he did the jungle all wrong. Other than that, what did he do wrong? He didn't say anything wrong, other than do better. At Legal Latino Heat, zero and eight is a better Rome show on Monday.

Let's go Texans! Oh no, it's definitely a better show. It's better for everybody. It's better for everybody if they're zero to eight, except for them. Let me tell you something.

Zero to eight is a better Rome show on Monday. One in seven means Rome may end the show. One in seven means Rome may put the show in the ground. It's a must-win. I'm not even going to sugarcoat that.

It's a must-win. It's a Super Bowl. It's the Jungle Super Bowl, but especially for the Texans at 11. Hondo Herbert sees cat.

Son Madison Beer. We see cat, mate. I'm not talking about significant others. I still per I still personally believe. Aside from the Tourettes, I still think McVay is a bigger problem for him than McBeer.

That's my take. I'm not saying that she's not a part of the issue. I mean, look at Bill Belichick. Had a great conversation yesterday. With June Lee on my podcast, Jim Rome, the Jim Rome podcast, and we talked about Belichick, and all of a sudden, how Belichick.

Now we find out months after the fact. I don't want to give up or wreck the entire pod, but we had this conversation because June Lee is an independent journo now. He used to work for ESPN, among others. And I said to him, "What do you make of the timing? Not just the announcement that Belichick and Jordan Hudson are no longer together, but still business partners.

And then, what do you make of the timing of that? If they broke up, allegedly, TMZ reported they broke up. They have not been dating since the end of last year, and we're only finding out about it right now.

So, I said to Junley, 'What do you make of the timing of that story breaking when it broke?'" And what's your reaction to it? And I thought that he and he said something that I had not heard before.

So you want to go to that podcast and you want to check that out. And why do I bring that up? That goes back to Justin Herbert and why is he as bad as he is right now? Is it because of his famous girlfriend or is it because of his famous coordinator? All right, there is some reaction.

And my reaction to your reaction. Keep it coming. Also, start thinking about what you want to beef about. The beef segment is the top of next hour, and between now and then, Tyler Algier, Arizona Cardinals running back, had a day against Dallas. All that still ahead.

Alvie, grandparents. Listen up. Your grandkids' home address could be online right now, exposed for any stranger to find. Here's how: type your name into a people search site. You will see your home address and your home phone number and a list of your relatives.

Edward Jones, member SIPC. So, a few years ago, there was a loss in our family, and what that was was a reminder that life is so unpredictable. All right, so I know answering questions from the media can be tedious, but it's really not that hard, and it really is a part of the job in the NFL. It's certainly not as hard as Shador Sanders is making it. But I will give the dude this much: watching him attempt to answer simple questions is way more entertaining than watching him attempt to play quarterback. Which is why we likely, we will likely get to see that in New Orleans this weekend, because Deshawn, the creep Watson, is still out of practice and in the concussion protocol today.

So Shador is back. And he was asked the question, "What have you seen when studying the Saints' defense so far?" Because he might get his first start of the season.

So, what have you seen on tape? Yeah, I know, really spicy stuff. What have you seen on tape watching them defensively? Like a completely loaded question, a booby trap designed to trip this guy up. Yeah, either all of that, or the most benign, obvious question that you would ask any quarterback prior to their next start: What do you see on tape regarding their defense?

Despite all of that, and a really easy question, check out how Chador decided to answer that question. What are you seeing? Um. Yeah, I've seen a lot. When I smile, just know that means something.

I'm maturing, you know. I'm saying I'm maturing. Like I could have gave that, you know, a decent answer, but now I'm just gonna smile whenever it's just like some question, you know. The hell is that? What?

What? The hell did I just see? The hell did I just hear? I mean, truthfully, I've watched that like thirty times, and I'm more bewildered every single time I see it. What is that?

Oh, and you're maturing. Yeah, right. Because nothing says I'm maturing like the most immature answer I've ever seen a professional athlete give. That is some of the most inane material I've seen since your old man was running around the clubhouse hitting Tim McCarver with buckets of ice water back in the day. What are you even talking about, dude?

It's the most basic question ever. Just answer the question. The question, jerk. That's my question. The question, jerk.

My man, even Johnny Manziel thinks you need to get serious. When you smile, that means something. What? What? What did you smile?

What did you smile for? Instead of answering, like what answer did you not want to give, or you almost gave but you didn't give because you're mature, so you just smiled. What does that even mean? And what's so funny? What are you smiling at?

Like you know something we don't know. Like you know something they don't know. Like you think they suck. Is that what you're getting at? You saw the Saints' defense, and you think they suck.

So you're up there smiling, but you're not saying what you know because you know something that they don't know, and you don't want them to know that you know what they don't know. Is that what you're saying? It'd be so much better if you just said it, something, or or not say it, but say something, anything other than what you just did, dude. Better be ready to back that up, whatever the hell that all was. Because I bet New Orleans is smiling too.

I bet they're smiling at the thought of seeing you as well. I bet they saw something too.

Well, not much because you haven't put much on tape of late, but they probably know. New Orleans is probably smiling because they're getting a chance to knock that smile off your face. You know, I know, I know. Here is when Shador Nation comes running up in here with "Here we go again!" Everybody overreacting to Shador being Shador. Shador is unapologetically Shador.

It's funny. It's entertaining. Y'all don't get it.

Well, you're right about that. We all don't get it.

Now, here's what you don't get, Shidor people. Shidor being Shidor is the reason why the league left him to rot in that draft house that he built for himself in the first place. Remember all that talk about could he go number one?

Now, not in the first round. Could he go number one? How high will he go? Is he top ten? He's definitely first round.

Oh wait a minute! Nobody's picked him, and we're in the fifth round now. There's a reason for that. A lot of reasons, and part of it is that kind of nonsense. The reason he fell to the fifth, clearly, he must have had some of that bizarre vibe and inability to answer simple questions in the pre-draft process.

You can't tell me that didn't have something to do with the fact that he fell all the way to the fifth round, and that was not the only thing that he did or said. And again, I, I can't get my head around that at all. What are we doing? What? How is that an adequate response to what do you see on tape with regards to their defense?

But somebody tried something else.

Somebody tried another question. All right, that didn't work. That was weird, but somebody was coming for him again, and luckily, Shidoru knew it. Shidoru was ready.

Somebody asked, "Well, what can you do to establish an early rhythm on Sunday?" Seems like another pretty simple question, right? The kind of question that any quarterback would get before any game. Very simple stuff, right? Not for Shador. How do you establish your own tempo, pace, rhythm early in the game to to get yourself in the offense rolling the way you want?

Y'all asking questions I probably didn't even think about to be honest.

So I really don't have an answer for that. Dude, nobody's trying to trick you. Nobody's trying to fool you. The media is not out to get you. They're not out chasing clicks.

They don't hate you. These aren't gotcha questions. They're the simplest questions ever, and you're bombing every single one. Again, if this is how this dude showed up at the combine interviews, it's a miracle that he got drafted at all. Again, even Johnny Manziel can't believe how doofy this dude sounds.

And it's been the same since day one, right? He just doesn't sound or act or carry himself like an NFL QB one. And so far, he hasn't really played like one either. And it's not because the NFL has some grand conspiracy to keep Dion's kid from succeeding. It's much more about Dion's kid showing up like that and saying and doing what he's doing.

Everybody's not out to get him. Those are not a different set of questions for him than anybody else would get. Man, that's easy stuff, really easy stuff. And the response is getting worse and more cringy. Like he didn't even start off that bad.

All that time, and that's what we're getting now.

So I really don't have an answer for that. You don't have an answer for how do you get yourself into a rhythm early in the game. You haven't even thought about that. How could you not think about that? Believe me, the coaches have thought about that.

You can't tell me the coaches have not discussed how do we get this guy going early and fast. How do we get this guy in a rhythm early in the game? And you're going to sit here and say, you know, y'all are asking me things I haven't even thought about. No, I don't know. I don't know how to answer that.

You don't know how to answer the easiest questions, so no, no, the the world's not out to get you. I'm mature. The media does not hate you. Unfortunately for you, Shador, the NFL sees it all very differently. I'm mature.

I mean, my man, you're making the creep seem almost likable at this point. Anyway, Shador Nation, do what you want with that because I know you think that that actually was cool and funny and entertaining and different and Shador being unapologetically Shador. It it was that. It was definitely Shador being Shador, but it wasn't cool, nor funny, nor entertaining, nor fresh, nor different. I mean, it was just really cringy.

And to me, as a Browns fan, really concerning. Hey, but listen, you can make all that go away by going out there and winning. But does he look like he's ready to win? I'm maturing. How can how can you give the most immature answer I've ever seen an athlete give, and then chase it with, you know, I'm maturing.

I'm maturing. I'm not going to answer any of your questions. I'll just smile. What's going on here? All right, when we come back, Tyler Algier joins us.

Top of the hour, the beef segment.

So back to back.

Now would be a good time to start dialing. What is your beef? If you want to write me a beef, write me a beef. Send it to X. Send it to our email.

Get up and chat with it. But we're going to talk some Arizona Cardinal football when we return. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. Let's find your rich. Edward Jones, member SIPC. That's true, but to be fair, we are on Westwood One, we are on Sirius XM, we are on our YouTube channel. We are on the Rome TV channel that has eight other platforms.

So to be fair, and I've got a beef segment at the top of the hour. Right now, though, we are joined by a stud, a running back for the Arizona Cardinals. He is in his fifth year overall in the NFL. It is his first year with the Cardinals. He played his college ball at BYU.

And was the Pro Football Writers of America NFL Rookie All Team member in 2022. He's coming off an enormous game, which I'm sure you saw Sunday. That dramatic overtime win over the Cowboys. He had 191 yards from scrimmage. He had a couple of touchdowns.

He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. The Cardinals are three and five. They take on Seattle on Sunday. We are joined right now by Tyler Algier. Tyler, great to have you back, dude.

How you doing? Doing doing well. How about yourself, man? Good, man. Good.

Really good to see you. I got to ask you, coming off a game like that, man. How did you come out of that? How you feeling? Not too bad.

I feel like today was for sure one of the better days after getting a lot of recovery and stuff. But besides that, it was good. It was a good workday. Good to hear it. Good to hear it.

All right.

So the reason I asked that question, you went to that game and you knew that you were the only running back available. And absolutely, man, they needed every bit of that. What was your mindset going to that game? I mean, obviously, you want the ball and you want the opportunity. But knowing that there was no other net and you were the guy, what was your mindset?

And did that change your approach at all? No, not at all. I felt like it was really just hey, just find a way, find a way, find a way every play. Just whether it's preserve your energy, but play at a really high level.

So just being able to shoot, just you just gotta get it, get it done. Talking to Tyler Ojir, you know I'm looking at you right there. You and I actually have not spoken since you made that move to the Cardinals.

So let's take a step back for a minute. You signed there in March as a free agent. Every time you and I have talked in the past, you've been with the ATL.

So what's that transition been like for you, both on and off the field so far? No, it's been good. Yeah, Arizona. Arizona's been great. Great to me, team wise, franchise, freaking the city, fans.

The it's been it's been awesome. It's been a great transition. Good to hear it, Tyler Rousier joining us. I want to set this up. I want to let the guys in the production studio know that we're going to run this play.

You had a huge game, but especially in the third quarter, there it is. Can you take us through this second and three, which you turned into a 63-yard TD run? What do you see here? Can you walk us through it?

So we got we caught a little dual scheme, little duo, total duo, right up the middle. Great blocking, had to beat one guy. Boom. Once you uh, it's gonna be a big play if you make the first man, first and for sure the second guy miss, and then we got Reggie and Simey just going ham, double under double team. I'm just being patient, trying to read their block, and we end up scoring.

Freaking great effort all around from the O line, tight ends, and then the two receivers right there. Freaking little Reg and and big Simey, man. Got big dudes in front of you going ham. How'd that feel? How's it feel?

How does that feel? Taking out one of the house. It was dope. I think that was my. It was the longest, man.

So it was a. It was a. It was a great feeling, and even better feeling that we won.

So. Tyler, I was here joining us. You know, better feeling that you won, but imagine you come all the way back that you did. You expend all that energy to get there, and all you need is a PAT to walk it off. And then, incredibly enough, you miss that.

I'm not asking you to point the finger, but I'm asking you this: How do you reset yourself? Given you expended all that energy, it's like, damn, we got to go win a game that we just won. How do you reset yourself? What do you tell yourself? How do you get through that?

I felt like for us as a team, even Coach Lafleur, like brought everyone together. Like we just we knew we didn't go this far just to get this far, so like we knew we had to win. Like whether like whether it was whatever we had to do, we knew we had to figure out something to really finish this game. And I think we ended up doing it. Tyler Ojio joining us.

You did. You finished. You mentioned Mike Lafleur. Let me ask you about him, man. What's it been like?

I mean, it's all new to you there, but we're talking about a young first-year head coach having to get a buy-in from vets. New situation. What's he been like, and what's his culture been like in terms of the way he's installed it, and you're buying? Yeah, no, it's been it's been awesome, Coach Lafleur. Freaking.

No, I love Coach LeFleur. I feel like he's a really great coach. He's smart. He's uh pretty active with the offense, obviously. And then she was just—he has everyone bought in, man.

I feel like everyone in the locker room just really wants to play for him, and it shows because I feel like. We're not the team from last. Obviously, I wasn't here last year, but like this isn't the this isn't the same Cardinals. Like we're a different we're a different Cardinal, we're a different Cardinals organization or a team. We're the we're the twenty twenty six Cardinal, so we're just trying to make our make our stance do what we can.

I feel like he does a great job just reminding us, like a like we're different, so let's be different. Shoot, dude, I was going to ask you about that. You were not there, but the team has already matched last year's win total. He won three games last year. He won three games already.

Do you just kind of have this sense that?

Something is building.

Something's happening.

Something's different now. No, for sure. I felt like, especially because what from just hearing a handful of the guys, it was just like they were just like so close last year. Like there was a lot of these one point games, and just like they were up in the second half. Like for example, the Chargers, like us winning the Chargers, and then the Rams and stuff.

It's just like we were up in the second, but then they slowly start creeping up, and then they end up losing. But us being able to finish that, and we we could have had a handful of more games, but we just didn't play our brand of football, and just really just good. Ball, I think Coach Lafleur, that's his big thing. Like he just wants to, like win or lose, he just wants to see good ball played.

So us being able to just play good ball and especially come with a dub too, so I feel like it shows a lot of character with this team. Process, man, focus on the process. Don't worry about the outcome. Process. If you're locked in on the process, right, the outcome should take care of itself.

Tyler, what about your quarterback Gardner Minshew? Like we we've seen this before, right? This not the first time we've seen this guy do something like this. Maybe not to this extent, but what's to say about a guy? Like that, right?

I know this guy. You got to be wired for it, but to come off the bench ice cold the way that he did and starts slinging it, it's easy to say, "Yeah, but that's part of the job." You got to stay ready. It's easy to say, not so easy to do. What's it say about that dude that he let that come back the way he did? Really, just having his mindset like every play, every play he's locked in.

Whether it's in practice, like whether it's in practice or especially in the game, like every play he's locked in. Always just getting the mental rep, like calling out the plays. Like I'll ask him, "Hey, like what's the play?" And he's already has it in his head. Said like, "Hey, it's yada yada yada west right." Twelve, do or whatever, and then, but he's just has his mindset. He's already a natural leader as well, and then, shoot, yeah, he was just able to really just do his what is it, Minshu magic?

Is that what people say? That's what it is. Exactly, that's exactly what it is, Minshu magic. We need something for you, my dude. After what you did, some Alger magic.

Well, I'll come up with something better. I'll come up with something better. We'll create. We'll create some. We'll create something.

Hey, let me ask you. You, you getting ready for Seattle? And you know what they kind of defense they have, right? They, well, they could do better than the dark side. By the way, they should create something better than the dark side.

But it is a good defense. It's a really good defense that Caleb Williams happened to shred last week.

So you know they're going to be fired up. Let me ask you something. Watching them on tape. What kind of thoughts do you have about their defense? They're, like you said, they're really good defense.

They're stout. They have really good D line. Obviously, really good backer. Really just from top down, it's a really good defense. They're stout, so I feel like it's just a great opportunity.

They came off a loss, and shoot, we came off a win, so this is their redemption game. And for us, we're trying to. We've seen how. We're trying to succeed after. We're trying to have success after success because we know how it feels to fail after success.

Or, or yeah. I see you working, dude. I know exactly what you're trying to say. Yeah, you know you. I feel you, man.

Yeah, you and I've done this before. I feel you exactly. We're just trying to stack. We're just trying to stack games. Exactly.

Stack one. You just got you just got to stack, man. Instead of these win one, lose one, or lose two, win one. It's just it's just consistency. I feel like that's uh, that's all that's all we can do.

Just being one and zero every week. We're just trying to stack exactly. Tyler Algieri joining us. We're just trying to stack winning days, winning reps, winning practices, dude. I got to ask you before you go.

I know you and I have talked about this in the past, so I know it's a big week. Aside from what you got going on, you've got the Holy War. You being a BYU alum, the Holy War rivalry game is coming BYU and Utah Saturday, a top ten matchup, no less. Dude, listen, outside of Utah, I don't think the rest of The nation fully appreciates the nature of this rivalry. You've been in the middle of it, man.

I think it is absolutely fierce. I know because I've talked to both sides for so many years. Can you explain what it's like to be in the middle of that rivalry and why it is so intense and what it's like? You either bleed red or you bleed blue. There's no in between.

It's Somebody kill or be killed, man. You know, it's a it's an insane rivalry. I feel like us goes back forever. Especially when I was there, our our it was our first year beating them in like ten years.

So like it was, and then now we've just consistently been able to to big bro them.

So it's been a. It's been it's been good. It feels good to beat Pro them, but they're they're nice this year, man. They're tough, right? They're really they're a really good team.

They're a really good team. I feel like all all teams are. Our team's really good, but freaking Utah, they've you know they're really good team, man. They're number three in the nation. We are number nine.

Yes, yes, number nine.

So I mean, like a top ten matchup. Yeah, so it should be it should be really good. I'm excited. I'm excited to watch. You know, I'm going with my Cougs all day, every day.

But you know, you just can't get comfortable. Sure, we've had success. We've shown that. Freaking, obviously, they have had success.

So it's gonna be a it's gonna be a really good game. I'm excited to watch. I mean, when you call something like that a holy war, it seems like all right. Let's not get carried away. But it actually feels like a holy war.

It really is an amazing thing. Like normally, you can throw the records out, but don't throw the records out because you got a couple of. Top ten teams, so this one is big. Tyler, always good to see you, my guy. Especially coming off an enormous game.

In fact, great to run you down after your best game as a pro. That's fair to say, right? Your best game as a pro. Hands down. Yeah, I'd say so.

Absolutely, I'd say so too. All right, bro. Great to see, man. Thank you very much. We'll do it again soon.

Appreciate you. Ooh, my man. Appreciate you. You too, always, Tyler. Always love having him on the show.

Representing Fontana too. Don't you forget that, SoCal.

SoCal, some of that SoCal toughness. Oh, oh yeah, SoCal athletes. Yo, man, they're so laid back. That dude, that dude's a monster. What a huge game!

143 yards rushing, 191 yards from scrimmage. All right, so really quickly, let me just tag this and hit me with your beefs. A number of you are saying, in response to what I said about Chidore. What was he supposed to say? What was Shador supposed to say to that question?

What kind of a question was that? What was he supposed to say? I don't know. Did you notice that I asked Tyler Algier the exact same question and he had an answer? All you have to do is say something and not go viral.

Just give a standard response. Tyler Shuck had a pretty basic response to the same question. I asked Tyler Algier that question. Here is Tyler's shot when he was asked, "What do you see out of the Browns' defense?" In response to you, Shador Nation, what are you supposed to say? I don't know.

Something like this. What do you think of that Browns defense? Ah, they're solid, man. They they do a really good job as far as just you know they're dynamic up front. You know they they get off the ball really really well, and they got some some good players on the back end too.

And I think more than anything, those linebackers stand out. They fly around and hit.

So we got to be ready to go, and it starts with us on our details. And I think more than anything. Like I said before, we're getting in the right some of these situations. How do we capitalize and finish those, and bring our play style to the mix, especially at home? That's it.

I don't even need that much.

Some of you are saying, "What kind of amazing answer are you expecting, Rome?" I'm not. I'm not expecting any amazing answer. Just something that doesn't go viral because it's so silly and ridiculous.

Something.

Something.
