This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing.

I'll tell you what: where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here is today's Truth Talk Live host.

So, what happened? Did America change its mind, or did a different America altogether show up to vote in the 2026 midterms? New voter estimates from the New York Times are raising questions about who voted, what's changing, and what it means for our nation. And for Christians, there's another question: What do these changes mean for us? Will American Christianity look the same four years from now?

We want to hear your thoughts. Give us a call at 866-34TRUTH. That's 866-3487884. Welcome to our live Thursday. Segment.

This is Truth Talk, and I am Ryan Hill. I'm John Galantis, and we're here with our host, Dr. Abbadon Shah. Dr. Shah, help us make sense of this.

You know, what are these numbers from the midterm 2026 elections telling us?

Well, we have to agree with the Florida Governor DeSantis, who said, "You know, this is a wipeout." Oh yeah, this is something we need to admit that.

Something radically has shifted in America, and the political landscape is going to look different for the next two years, or possibly longer. Yeah.

So we need to first admit that yes, something drastic had happened. We cannot sit back and say, "Oh, this is nothing. This is nothing." That something has happened, but now how do we make sense of it? What do we learn from it? And how can we better prepare ourselves?

Because two years from now. Again, we have a very critical election coming up, right? Yeah, I think that's something that people don't often realize is that everything is contingent upon the election prior to it.

So these midterm elections are setting the stage for in two years from now we're going to have presidential elections, and those will determine the trajectory of our country moving forward. There's probably a lot of people listening today who are thinking, "Oh man, I wanted to tune in to hear hear these guys talk about the Bible, and now we're talking about politics. I'm gonna change the channel." Before they do that, Doctor Shaw, why don't you tell us why it's important that as Christians We not only talk about these things, but really understand them, grow to love the process of what's happening in our country.

Well, let's just begin by admitting that our nation was built upon. Judeo-Christian values.

Okay, the reason America works is because of our foundation, and our foundation is solidly biblical. We've covered that in other shows, so I'm not going to rehash all those arguments and research, and and looking through those documents and how many times the Bible is quoted versus the Whigs or European philosophers and and Greco-Roman authors. No, the Abel was the most quoted book in the constitutional in in the revolutionary era. All that set aside, this election really challenged that.

Now we have to go.

Okay, do we want that foundation to remain intact? Because that is on the line now. Yeah.

Before we started this episode, you shared a New York Times article with us that sort of broke down all of the voting demographics. And looking at these numbers, it's easy and tempting to assume that everybody in the nation is just of one accord. Everybody changed their mind, but there's more to it than that. Like we need to know who it is that actually showed up. And why?

Why did these people vote? Why did these people not vote? And why did they shift the way that they did? Right. And that's why I'm saying, you know, if we want to continue as a nation, and have the same Judeo-Christian values, then it is important.

It is critical that we examine what happened, and and see what needs to happen now. To once again be that nation, one nation under God. Yeah, yeah. What are some of the reasons that would cause a person to to not show up to vote? I mean, it can be easy in a conversation like this to think like, I'm a Christian.

I need to go out and vote biblical values. I need to make my voice heard. But that's us talking. We're out there. There could be all any number of opinions on voting on the political process.

What would What would cause a person not to go to the polls?

Well, I'm still shocked when I come across people who complain about the nation and. How we are in a mess and all that stuff, and even talk about Christianity and Christian values, but they themselves have not gone to the polls. And you have family members who haven't voted. I mean, you know that, and and it's uh, it it blows my mind because to me, one or the other, either the thing, the election process is just a hoax, doesn't work, or they don't care about their future, yeah, about the future of their grandchildren. What kind of America are you leaving for them?

That's right.

So either they think this whole voting, election, campaigning is just bunk, is politicians doing what politicians do, or they don't care. Yeah.

I think it's the former. I think they they just don't believe elections are important. Yeah, I think it's it's a it's this disease of the mind that we have, and I don't know if it's a generational thing. I don't know if it's a spiritual biblical thing, but it's almost this apathy of you know what? It's just me and God, and me and my family.

We're gonna weather this no matter what. Because if I go out there and vote, we're still gonna go through troubles. We're still gonna have trials in the nations. No point in even going out there. And I think this has shown us.

That either you're you're right, Doctor Shaw. These midterm elections have shown us either it's that, or there's something else in in the undercurrent that we haven't considered yet. Right. Well, the very purpose of an election is to represent the the opinion of the the populace of the majority. That it's elected by popular vote.

But if not everybody's going to vote, that's not accurately representing. That's not good representation. Right. Yeah.

This this article that I shared with you guys, and I've been going over it for the past two days. It it is it is very indicative of where our culture is now. Yeah, because compared to even two years ago, twenty twenty four, there has been a shift. And especially the the where I see the longest arrow moving away from what we would consider conservative values is actually coming from young people. Ages eighteen through twenty nine, and that is shocking because I think it was two years ago we sat right here on this couch on the Clearview Today Show and talked about how it was the exact opposite.

Yeah, young men were were were becoming more conservative, and they were voting conservative values. They were turning to God and those kinds of things. But now here we're looking at as we look at these statistics, it's it's that age group that is. That has moved the furthest away, and and that to me is worth taking notice. Yeah, and I think we're all sitting here asking, you know, how did this happen?

You know, because that's what we want to find out. We can see the numbers now. The question is, what caused it? And there's no one right, clean answer. But I mean.

I guess that's kind of the point of today's episode: is what are some of the things that could have caused this? Yeah, especially among our young people. Right. Yeah, I mean, if you look at the numbers here, seventy percent of ages eighteen through twenty-nine. We're talking about, I guess, men and women here, in in this in this bracket, but eighteen through twenty-nine.

They moved to the left, right, and so they seventy percent, and only twenty eight percent voted red.

So that's say thirty three point shift from twenty twenty four. Yeah, huge thirty three point shift. Huge move. Yeah, now significant increase. If you go down here, ages eighteen through twenty nine.

And I'm trying to find men, men, eighteen through forty-four. Actually, eighteen through forty-four, the shift is about thirty-two points. We're talking about men, eighteen through forty-four. It's a thirty-two point shift. If I'm not wrong, I may be wrong, but fifty-nine percent voted.

Blue and only 40% voted red. And men absolutely did make up the the biggest shift towards the Democrat. We saw that more women voted Democrat than men did, but the shift in men was colossal. Yeah, was much more than we have ever seen before. Yeah, and so I guess there's something after the break we can kind of kind of talk on that.

But what is happening in the minds and the hearts of our nations, especially our young men, what's causing that shift? This is a massive. Swing only two years ago, we were seeing a very opposite story. Understanding that what's causing that shift or contributing that shift help us understand, you know, what what we can do in order to swing things in the opposite direction. That's right.

That's right.

You know, we're going to take a quick break, very quickly, but when we come back, we are going to talk about this because we want to dive into exactly what's going on. But we want to hear from you. Give us a call eight six six three four truth. That's eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We're going to look at these numbers.

We're going to talk about what they mean. And how we can be contributing to this as Christians.

So we are very grateful for all of you guys tuning in. Again, that number eight six six three four truth eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com.

Hey, welcome. Just joining us for the very first time today, we're talking about the midterm elections, 2026. The results are coming in, and Democrats have won the House and the Senate, and it is not even close. It is a landslide victory, which means for us something drastic has happened. We were just talking about that a little bit before the break, Doctor Shaff.

Something has gone awry. Yeah, there's definitely, as I mentioned in the opening, what Governor DeSantis has said. You know, this is a a Wipe out. That's right.

And we need to acknowledge that. We need to acknowledge that. Yes, something has shifted, has shifted. You know, I saw a lot of posts online, and I agree with them to a certain extent. Like, hey, God is still in control.

The sun is still going to shine, and I agree on that. God is still sovereign. God is still in control. But we do need to acknowledge that the fabric of our American culture, civilization, has shifted. If this is how people voted.

Okay, the candidates on the left were not shying away from their platforms. They were very clear on what they believed and what they were standing for. And yet, the populace voted, especially as we looked at in the last few moments before we went on break, that the young men, 18 through 44, shifted the most dramatically.

So we need to ask the question: What happened? How can this be? And if we're going to fix the problem. And I'm hoping that we will come together and help fix the problem, so that in two years from now we will be in the opposite direction. We need to figure out what went wrong.

I'm so glad that you said that because typically the Christian rhetoric is, while we agree, God is still in control, God is still sovereign, we would never disagree with that. That's often a a cop out. Oh yeah, it's I'm going to go hide my head in the sand and just kind of close the church doors and really hope for the best. Where yes, we acknowledge that God is still sovereign, but we've got a job to do. That's right.

Yeah.

When God said go out there and fight the enemy and win that land, they didn't say hey God's going to take care of it. They went out there and they did it. Yeah.

And so we want to hear from some of you guys. Eight six six three four truth. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We got Buckman from Ohio calling in today. Buckman, we are talking about the midterm elections, man.

What are your thoughts? Wow, how long do you got? Truth Talk Live. We got a we got a list of callers, but let me let's hear what you got to say. Yeah, well, two things comes to my mind, guys.

I filter all of my life circumstance through the scripture that I've memorized or I know to go to to rightly discern the word. And today, I was speaking to some people. And I read to them Jeremiah 29. That's the chapter that holds the famous 29:11. I know the plans, but a lot of people, fellas, don't understand who God was talking to.

He was talking to the ancient Israelites going to prison for sinning against Him as their God.

So he used Babylon to round up all the Israelites, the ancients, and take them to prison for 70 years. And why did he do that?

Well, I know I'm a geek. I know the real reason why they didn't let the land rest, and we can read that. But it was because of disobedience. And God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and now.

So, like Peter Rosenberg was saying on the program just yesterday, we have sinned so egregiously towards God since the founding of our country in 1776.

Okay, and I heard you guys say, you know, we we used to read, you know, the the military had. I mean, I've seen the printed copy of the Bible from our United States Congress. We're so far off biblical rails, and I believe God is so good and He's so graceful. He has led us on this far to re-correct, re-correct, re-correct. Are we going to Babylon?

We may be. What do you think about that, Doctor Shaw? I think I think Buxman has a point here, where he's saying I'd love to hear that. Thanks, sir. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, no, no. I think I think you made a very valid point because, yes, in some sense, this is what I wanted to discuss. That we have done a poor job in in teaching our people from the pulpit because there is this fear that if we talk about Biblical values. If we talk about the foundation of our nation, that we're bringing politics in the church, and and I think that right there is a big fatal flaw. That now we're paying for this, and I hope every every pastor who believes the word of God and he believes in the holiness of God and and in the holiness of God's people.

And I know, as as Americans, not everybody is saved. But we, as God's people, should be holding up the banner of holiness and and and challenging our neighbors and our friends to come to know Christ and walking with Him. If we don't do our job in the church from the pulpit, this is just one of the byproducts. Just one. There's more.

There's more. But this is one of the bottom line. Charles Finney, doctor, that's what Charles Finney said. You guys are laughing. Oh, that's so glad you guys know your American history.

And yeah, Charles Finney said that from the pulpit. If if things aren't going right in Congress and in the halls, it's the pulpit's fault. Thank you for taking ownership of that, doctor. That's awesome. Absolutely, and and and also, I would say, it's indicative of how culturally or you know historically illiterate our culture is.

Absolutely, and because of the work done in the public schools, not teaching them the history, what makes a nation work, what makes the people work. I mean, some of the candidates are very open about their. Muslim values and things like that, and people are still voting them. And I'm and I'm I'm shocked. And I'm thinking to myself, you have no idea.

Those two systems don't work, especially if we're seeing young people in in mass moving away from conservative values and moving toward more progressive values. It's because we're not doing a job of speaking from the pulpit and reaching these kids, reaching these young people, these young teenagers. Because if they're 18 now, they were 16 two years ago in the presidential elections. Which means that we're not reaching them then and teaching them that it's important to go and vote these biblical values. We're just expecting them to suddenly care and vote correctly, vote the way that we would hope they vote when they return.

Even though we're not the we're not the ones doing our job, Bucksmen. Thank you so much for calling. Before we hit another break, I want to get to Marie. Absolutely, I want to get to Marie from North Carolina calling to talk about the topic and the election, the 2026 midterm elections. Marie, you're on Truth Talk Live.

I was just listening and wanted to call in. I'm honestly shocked at the numbers we've been seeing. Do you think these voting changes mean that a lot of Americans have just changed their minds, or did different people vote, show up to vote? What happened here? I that that's something you know.

We we often talk about you know, have has the elections been hijacked or whatnot, and and and I don't know yet. Those those things will be discussed over the next few weeks or whatever. I'm taking the numbers for what they are, and from what I'm seeing, based on the numbers here, people have definitely voted blue. And the question now is why. One, I would say, as I mentioned with with Buxman just a few moments ago, the pulpit has done a poor job in teaching and educating our people the importance or of our Judeo-Christian values.

I'm going to say that as clearly as possible. Judeo-Christian values means our biblical foundation. We haven't done a good enough job. Secondly, in our school system, historically, we haven't taught them. The history of our nation.

What makes this nation work?

So, on two fronts. But there's also, I think, the impact of social media in in our culture that has been around for some time now. I mean, we cannot say that oh, social media just showed up in the past two years. It's been around for quite some time. But its impact.

Is far more now than it has ever been. Yeah, I think you're exactly right. This is where people are turning to, and they are almost, I would say, parroting what they're hearing. Hundred percent.

So if forces out there are putting this propaganda out there that you know gas prices and and grocery bills, gas prices and grocery bills nonstop, nonstop. Then some of our young people who are Listening to these things on social media, they're voting. Gas prices and grocery bill, which is why I think it's so important, Doctor Shaw, that you speak the way that you do. And when we say things like "vote biblical values," it seems obvious to people like us, but a lot of people don't vote biblical values; they vote with their pocket and with their wallet. And so, we're going to talk about that a little bit more as we're coming back.

But we still want to hear from you. Eight six six three four truth. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We're going to take a break. Be right back.

Truth Talk Live. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. We're here with today's host, Dr. Abadon Shah.

The Democrats have won the House and the Senate, and now we're asking the question: What should America expect next? Give us a call: eight six six three four Truth eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. Dr. Shah, maybe you can answer that question for us first. As people are calling in, I want to hear from you.

What do you think we, as Americans, should expect from the people who now hold Congress? What can we expect in general?

Well, that's a great question.

Well, of course, you know this is what the Democrats wanted, right? They wanted to control the House. They wanted to control the Senate. They wanted to stop President Trump from all his policies.

Okay, for so now, do it. Yeah, do it. If if you're really going to help the average American buy gas at cheaper prices, and if you're going to help average American buy groceries. At cheaper prices, and you're going to help the standard of living and all that stuff. Come on, let's do it.

Yeah, let's see some. Unfortunately, I think there's going to be a lot of you this and you that and trying to. You know, prove themselves. That's what's going to happen because that's what they did in the in leading up to the election. That's right.

Right. Just you are bad. We are good. You messed up everything. We would not have done that.

So now, now it's pretty much put your money where your yeah. You you got it all. Go ahead. Yeah, thinking about the the climate of the world of of things going on on a larger scale. Is there are there other things that have contributed to this outcome?

Other factors, things going on in the world that we can look to and say, hey, maybe this had a role to play. I know. Lately, in the past, I would say 24 hours, we've heard a lot about the Iran war. Iran war. Iran war.

You know, JD Vance said that, and of course, President Trump said, you know, maybe he's right. Iran war may have caused the Republicans, both the House and the Senate, and could be. I I think, and this is this is my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I believe that this time around, the candidates on the Republican side just did not have the likability, okay, the appeal that they needed. I'm not saying they were not qualified.

I'm not even saying that they were not good people. It's just. You need something more than just you are smart and you are, you you stand on good values, but do people like you? And I think somewhere there there was a disconnect. And I've told you guys over the past few months, I was like that.

Everywhere I look and I see the candidates, now some of them are pretty good, others I'm like. I just don't think you are gonna win. Yeah, yeah. I just don't think you have what it takes to win, and I say that with with a lot of you know grace because those people they put their lives on the line. They work hard.

They have to sacrifice so much to make this happen.

So, hey, I am sorry if if this hurts, but. You may just not have that likability. Yeah, I think you're right, and that's a huge factor when it comes to elections, as we've seen in the past. You know, we got David from South Carolina on the phone. David, we're talking about the 2026 midterm elections.

Well, I am. Thank you so much for the time. I'm surprised at you guys' responses, and this is why the Bible teaches us that in the last days, you know, it will get worse and worse. It will be, you know, lawlessness, and you go to My God, Second Timothy the second and the third chapter. You go to Romans the first chapter over and over.

It talks about how things are going to get worse and worse. And the Bible doesn't have a lesser of two evil standards.

So when I look at it, and I'm answering the question of why people don't vote like me, I can only speak for myself. Why would I vote if the definition of voting means to endorse, to support? To agree, why would I vote for either party? Both are ministers of Satan, the Democrats and the Republicans. You don't get a trophy because you don't want to murder a baby within the first three months, but you're okay with murdering a baby apart from that.

You're okay with the abortion pill, and you keep quiet on that.

So I use that as an example to say it's a lesser of two evils.

So I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two evils because that's not God's standard. No one is perfect. I'm not saying that, but I'm not going to vote for the Republicans or the Democrats because they both are controlled by Satan.

So why would I vote for them? And why are you guys surprised that the population in America, we got wicked people voting for wicked people? It's Satan's kingdom. It's his kingdom is not divided. He, he, and I totally, I sympathize with what David you're saying.

I totally get it. Until the day we have Jesus on the ballot, we're always going to have people who are not going to be. Perfect. I I totally agree with you. The neither side is perfect, and there is not a perfect candidate.

There's only one, and if Jesus ever puts his name on the ballot, I mean, you know, you and I are sold on it. I totally get it. I I picture it more as a bus, okay, a bus.

Now you have two drivers there, one who will go to the destination. The other one is not.

Okay, both of them have a criminal past, but at least we know this. One will lead us to the destination. What will I do? I will make sure that the one who can will take the steering. I I I don't have the license, but they do.

So I will support the one. Why? Because of all the passengers on that bus. That is my reasoning behind it. It's it's again.

I agree with you, and and that's what I said just a few moments ago. In some situations, the likability. When I say likability, I'm not saying just a pretty face. I'm saying some of the the character is weak. And I'm like, why?

Why are we running them as a candidate? Right. Why could? Is there nobody else out there? Is that what I'm saying?

Yeah.

Well, I think it's a very bleak outlook. Yeah, and I can appreciate that. I I agree with what you're saying, and it makes sense. But here's the only problem I have with what you're saying: that's not biblical standards. God doesn't.

You're using the word likable. You're using the word, you know, agreeable. No, we're talking about two parties that are sinful. Two parties that oppose the word of God.

So the Bible. I don't. Any human candidate in there is going to be a sinful, a sinful candidate. But yeah, what makes a sinful party? I don't know what makes a sin.

We don't have a whole lot of time to really debate this, but I don't know that any political party could be definitionally sinful. I think it's a very bleak outlook, and I think it's it's something that's kind of it's a it's an anti-American outlook. It's very pessimistic in nature, and I don't think it has anything to do with biblical standards, like you're suggesting. I hate to cut you off, David. Thank you for calling in.

We're going to cut over. Anna, who was talking about the election results, Anna from North Carolina, you are on Truth Talk. We're talking about the 2026 midterms. Yeah, just looking at the elections, I'm kind of left wondering, and I would love to know your guys's opinions. Do you think that the Democratic Party is offering something that people genuinely want?

Because I look at the leaders who were on the ballot and the leaders who were running, and I'm not aware of any particular charismatic leader making promises from the left that would like sway the numbers to the results that we've seen. Or do you think that something else is going on? Like they don't have a Donald Trump of their own that can sway people in these masses.

So what is it that's caused this huge shift? Is that what you're asking, Anna? Yeah.

Yeah, yeah. Again, that's the likability, and I agree with our previous caller, David. You know, who said you know the parties are sinful. I'm going with the platform. Show me a party that is standing for biblical values.

I'm not saying that the candidates are are prophets and preachers and saints of God. I want to know what do you believe about the life. Of the baby inside the mother's womb. What do you believe about the male-female roles? Do you believe that God has made you male and female, and that cannot be exchanged?

What do you believe about that? What do you believe about those kinds of things?

So, and those are just two. There's many more. I want to support that party that will stand for those values. Right. Okay.

So if you say they're both evil. If you're talking about the characters of the people, now in some situations I agree. That's why I said in the the likability. I'm not just talking about how how charming you are. I'm I'm talking about just the character of the person.

I mean I don't want to mention names here, but one person running from a major state that I wish we hadn't lost. He just did not have yeah the the proper character. He goofed up many times, and then he is on the ballot, and I'm thinking, oh, and the person running against him has very horrible views about the Bible. Yeah, talking about God being non-binary and all this kind of weird stuff. He wins, right?

And I'm thinking. Yeah, because who was up against you, just did not have what it takes. Yeah, is this a deficit in the the Republicans that were able to put forward for these offices, or is there hundred percent?

Okay, I truly believe that this time around was not just because of gas prices, and because of of grocery bills, or even the Iran War, even the Iran War. I believe this was just. They were very lackluster candidates. Yeah, I think it's we've said this before, but everything rises and falls on leadership. Yeah, you can have the right stance, you can have the right message.

We see pastors and we see religious Christian leaders do this all the time, where you have the right. "Quote unquote product of the right message, but you had lacked the leadership to actually carry it out and character." I would say, again, going with what David said a little while ago, I hope in the next two years, people will rise up, men and women who will rise up. For the challenge, who will have? I'm not expecting perfection because I'm sure David himself is not perfect. I'm not perfect.

You're not perfect. But people who will have a good enough character for the American public to get behind and say, "Hey, that person is not Jesus," but I like what I see. I like the platform they're standing on. I am going to vote for this person. Yeah.

To convince me and have to give me a long lecture on this, I'm I'm ready. Yeah, Anna, thank you for calling in. We got a couple of minutes before the break. I want to talk a little bit about the effect that this is going to have on the presidential election, particularly with conservatives. And we could talk about it a little after the break as well.

But, Doctor Hill, what do we need to learn from this? Yeah, you know, out of everything, we mentioned that up top that maybe this is opening doors that conservatives and Christian leaders have not opened yet. What is the take? What is one of the takeaways that we can take from this election result? I mean, a lot of things.

One, I think there is sort of a purging happening. In my in my opinion, this again, this is just me. Purging in the sense of some of the candidates who were not worth it.

Now they've lost. Yeah, it's time for us to put forth new candidates who are. Who who understand the issues, who stand for the issues, who are there with the people, who are likable. As a person, as a character, and I hope over the next two years, there will be those who are in charge start looking for those kinds of people, yeah, yeah, and start giving them the platform. Start, start praying for them.

I think that's what needs to happen on the front end. This, you know, this is certainly a landslide victory, and it it can be viewed as a setback for the Republican Party. Dr. Sean, your opinion is this a a Permanent swing toward uh toward the left, or is this the potential for a wake up call for the right? Oh, definitely, it's a big wake up call.

I don't think this is permanent. I I know there are a lot of people, a lot of pundits who are saying that. Oh, this is. I don't think we're going to come back from this. No, I think we will.

I believe these candidates who have been elected. They are they are not ready for the job. Yeah, I think you're right. We're going to wrap this discussion up right after the break. But we want to hear from you.

Eight six six three four truth. Eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four. We'll be right back. Truth talk live. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Hey, welcome back to Truth Club Live. We're wrapping up our discussion today on the 2026 midterm elections, and the midterms are going to have a huge effect on the next presidential election in two years. This was a big loss for Republicans, and it's given us a reason to ask the hard question: What is it that went wrong, and how are we going to win these voters back? And Dr. Shaw, before we went to the break, we were talking about what it is that we can learn from this.

Yeah.

You know, what can we glean from this? Yeah, and definitely. Sitting back passive is not the answer. That's right.

You know, one of our callers talked about. You know, both parties are evil, and and I agree. I agree.

Some of the things they do can be, go with the one, that is standing the most for biblical values. That's right.

Okay, go with that one. I think about people in the Bible. What if Joseph had said? Egypt is evil. I mean, if you have snake as the the symbol of your of your People, that's evil.

Yeah, and his brothers back home were evil. What if Joseph had sat back? No, he got involved. Yeah, he was involved in the political process. Saved not only Egypt but his own people.

I'm not going to become the pharaoh's right hand. Why would I do that? He's evil. Yeah, but he did, and that's what I'm saying. Yes, he never endorsed pharaoh and or his religion, but he.

Was able to save his people. That's right.

Think about Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego. What did they do? They became the counselors. They became the wise men of Babylon. That's right.

And later Persia. And they were able to save the people. That's what we're doing. They did not, for a single moment, say that. Oh, the Babylonian gods and goddesses—they're wonderful.

No, didn't endorse that. But they stood for. The values that they grew up with. That's right, right. I want to go over to Mike from Ohio, who's going to talk about the subject at hand.

Mike, we're talking about these 2026 midterm election results. What do you think about them? What are your thoughts on what we're seeing today?

Well, yeah. Thanks for taking my call, and I really believe that it was the the candidates. I I wonder why Americans don't think it's a calling to be in in part of politics. I really do believe that it's a God-given calling to get involved with your government, and I believe that the devil is deceiving us a little bit in saying, "Well, that's not a good place to be." You know, you're in politics, no. It is a good place to be, and because you're going to take care of us Americans, and also your grandkids, your your future generations, and I think our founders were or had the good idea of saying, "Hey, I'm going to get involved, and then I'm going to let somebody else take over who is who has been called to to be there," and I.

And I don't I don't understand where it's not being preached enough at the pulpit, saying, "Hey, get involved in politics," because we're afraid that we're going to offend people. I that's what I believe. I really think that we're going to offend the Democratic Party and we're going to offend the Republican Party because you're saying that. You should get involved in politics, and well, I'm a Democrat.

Well, I don't care which way you are. If you're called to God, go into politics. Go into politics and do the biblical values. And and I would love to see young men get up and and do this. That's what we need to preach.

You know, I mean, that's right. That's what would change America. That's right, Doctor. I know you have several, several friends, several people in your life who talk about a calling to politics to be involved in the political realm. Yeah, how how do we think about that as believers?

How should we respond to that? I mean, absolutely. My hat's off to you. You know, at one time, I remember making jokes about politicians in the pulpit. You know, there was a politician.

He, you know, was You know, on a plane, and you know, you know, make all kinds of silly jokes. I've stopped doing that. Why? Because you're cheapening that office. That's right.

So now I don't make fun of it. Why? Because we need good, solid politicians. Because that young person who is listening to my message, and I'm constantly talking bad about politics, what's going to happen? He's going to say, "Well, that's one, one, you know, line of work." I will never do.

Yeah.

So we have to to think differently about politicians and politics, and encourage our young people to consider. That's right.

I think even the people who are listening to this today, you know, if you didn't go out and vote, it could be because you have this jaded outlook on politics and this jaded outlook on the leaders that are leading this country. We claim this country is is Founded on Judeo Biblical values, and yet we don't actually act like it. We certainly don't vote like it. And so, Doctor Sha, and I appreciate Mike. Thank you so much for calling in.

We've got one more caller that I want to go to, Nathaniel from North Carolina, here in just a second. But Doctor Sha, if someone's listening, and maybe they have that jaded outlook, how can we soothe that? How can we change that and start to think differently about what we're doing? Salt and light. Jesus told us to be the salt of the earth, the light of the world.

How can you be a salt of the earth if you stay out of the food? Yep, the salt has to go into the food. Salt left in the salt shaker doesn't do you any good. No, neither does light under a bushel do any good. It has to shine.

So we have to be. The the the instruments or or or the salt that seasons the culture. If the culture has become tasteless, is because we as believers, as Christians, as Christ followers, as Bible believers, we have stopped seasoning the culture. That's right.

You know, we got Nathaniel from North Carolina. Nathaniel, we've got like maybe five minutes left in the show, but we're talking about the 2026 midterm elections. What are your thoughts on this? Yeah.

Well, first, I want to say thank you all for your your take on this. I've had people that I've known on social media posting some crazy stuff about like I've I've heard people say that both sides are evil and and things like that. And so I just wanted to get you know figure out kind of how to respond to that and what what y'all think of that because like God works together in in all things. That's that's Happening, and sure, both parties have their failures, but God's still in control.

So, with that being said, like, what what do we do as Christians, and why why would you say that both sides are evil when when you go forward from that? Yeah.

Yeah, yeah. There are two kinds of people there.

Okay, there. There's one group that maybe David, who called us a few moments ago, is part of that group that feels like, man, I'm just sick and tired. This, these both parties have problems, and both sides have candidates who don't exemplify a a a godly life. And and I sympathize with those people. I truly do, and I and I encourage them.

Don't don't be passive, don't sit back. You have to get involved. You cannot use that as your reason to not vote. Please don't do that. Vote for the one that lines up the most with biblical values.

Okay, so let me put that aside. The second group is the one that I have a problem with. This is a group that I told I truly do not believe that they care. About the nation, they care about which way we're headed. They have a very almost dismissive attitude.

They would rather get 500 likes or 50 likes on their post because that gives them some sixth sense of joy. Those are the people I'm more I'm disgusted with. Yeah, and we've been seeing that a lot on social media. Yes, because they like to do this. It's like they try to bait you.

It's called a rage bait, right? Is that what they call it? Exactly what it is. And those are the people I think they need to repent and get right with the Lord. Yeah, that is a whole different problem.

Those people, to me, represent people who don't have any vested interest left. Yes. And if you don't have foundation, if you don't care about the future of your children and your grandchildren, that's the kind of garbage you will spew. And you you you take that garbage and you see it in in social media, and you become this cynical, jaded person who really thinks that they're a lot smarter than they actually are. Yeah, I wouldn't even say they're jaded.

They're just cynical. They just like to to to to go and say radical things just to get your reaction. Yeah.

They have they have a problem in their heart. Yes. So, on one hand, I sympathize with people who are just frustrated with how politics and politicians are, and and I sympathize with them. And I say, hey, hey, I get it. But please vote biblical values.

But the other group that says the same things, but their motive is not the same. Their motive is just so they can, you know, they can back you up in a corner with a few arguments and a and a few.

So what about this and what about that? Those are the ones. Frankly, I think they just need to get saved. I agree.

I agree.

And Doctor Shell, we got about sixty seconds left in the show, but I want to end with a word of encouragement because there's people who are listening to this who are thinking. Truly, I do care about my nation, and it's looking kind of bleak. It's looking grim. What is the word of encouragement we can end the show on? God is the God of hope.

And hope is not just. I hope it works out, and man, I hope so. You know, no hope is as we mentioned recently. We're going through our series through Ephesians, where hope is faith on tiptoes, yeah, which means we see that there are good days coming. God is not finished with our nation.

As long as there is a remnant, as long as there are people like us who are talking, and people like you who are listening and who understand what is on the line, the future of our nation is on the line. It's not just that I'm here trying to save America, but America is the source of so much good that is happening in the world. I know somebody will say there's also a lot of bad. I understand, and for that we need to repent. But there's a lot of good.

A lot of missionaries go out from here. A lot of dollars go out in helping plant churches and feed the hungry. That happens from this nation.

So we need to save this nation. That's right.

It's worth saving. It needs to happen. And so, just know God's hand is upon us, and there are some good days coming. Amen. The hope is a person.

Hope is a person, Jesus Christ. He's worth. He's worth giving your life to, and and He's involved in the world around us. It through working through politics, working through putting the right people in office. You know, God is not done with America.

And I today's episode filled me with hope, and I hope it did the same for our viewers. That's right.

That's right.

And God's working in your life as well. And maybe this is inspiring you to get out and do something as well. We want you guys to make sure that you do that.
