At Edward Jones, we believe rich is about taking care of what gives your life meaning. That's why your financial advisor personalizes your plan to help you preserve your progress and create something that lasts. Let's find your rich. Edward Jones, member SIPC. And presented by FanDuel.

See what I did there? It is the Jim Rome Show, starring me, Jim Rome, and it is presented by FanDuel.

Okay, time to beef. If you're listening, that is the sound of me knocking on the iconic plastic tower of beef. Beef about anything you want. Except for those two or three things that you know not to beef about, you already know what they are. Call me up with a beef if you're going to get on the phone.

Just make sure you keep it tight. Get in, get out. Like I'm looking for rapid fire beefs. You know, bam, bam, bam. Keep the thing moving.

If you don't want to call, you just want to send me something on X. Do that. If you want to hit me up in the chat, do that. If you want to hit me with an email, do that. Beef any way you want.

You only get to do it once a week. Otherwise, I'm trying to keep things upbeat and positive and lively. But right now, if there is something bothering you, I am here for it. I am trying to think of a way to get you started.

Something that I don't have any beefs. I am actually in a pretty good place. I had one earlier this morning, but see, this is the way I'm living my life right now, right off my back. I had it, couldn't hold on to it, and now I'm going to start with one of your beefs. No, no, I'm not going to start with one of your beefs.

I'm going to start with the same beef that I start with every single week when this guy shows up because he sets the tone for me. Let's go to Charleston, Miles. Miles, what is your beef? Jim, no worries on forgetting your beef, buddy. I got plenty of them.

So I have a beef with all these morons all week after daylight savings time who complain and moan about. Oh my God, it's getting darker. Oh my, it's dark. If hey, moron, it's been doing this for forty years, Jim. These are the same losers that complain that it's cold in winter and hot in summer.

Get a life, unworried Mike in the. Al, Jim, nice job, Miles. Thank you for getting me started. Rock him. Oh my God, it's light during the day and it's dark at night.

I hate that. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Hey, love him or hate him, my man Miles is so consistent. Never misses. Always sets the tone for the beef segment.

And that's important. I've noticed that when you, it's kind of like asking Shador. This is why they asked him. What do you have to do to get yourself in a rhythm early in a game? And then Shador Nation will say, "What's he supposed to say?" Well, this is what I do for that segment.

I want to get us in a rhythm early in the segment. I know what I'm going to get, so I get that guy the ball. I get the ball to Miles. We get off to a good start. We're in a rhythm.

You see that comp? Does that make sense? One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Let's go to Dayton, Ohio. Alex in Dayton.

Alex, what is your beef? Hey Jim, my beefs with any clones crying. We didn't get a smack off. You didn't skip it. We forfeited it.

The smackoff isn't our right; it's a privilege.

Now there's been a revival on the phones, but sadly, you've mostly gotten generic platitudes and love. The show takes on repeat, not smackoff caliber. The golden ticket's nearly extinct, and the watch list is extremely suspect. I would know. I'm on it.

The standard is the standard. We need to own it. Thanks, Jim. No, thank you, Alex.

Well said. I didn't have to say it myself.

Well, I have said it myself like twenty times, but I'm glad somebody heard it. He's right; it's exactly right. You're not entitled to it. You have to earn it. It's not a given.

It's not going to be there every single year.

Well, it has been for thirty years, but you know what? If it's not there, it's not there. I'm not going to force it. If it's there, the smack off. It will be organic, and I'll know it, and I'll feel it.

I'm not feeling any of that. Find me right now ten people consistently coming in that are smack off material, or find me five. My man, even you, you're on the watch list. Feel free to call outside of the beef segment, Alex. And you're one of the positives.

But even he knows that's why he said it. We don't deserve it, and I'm on the watch list. Let's go to Justin in Melbourne, aka at Lanier Messenger. Justin, what is your beef? My beefs with these dumbass birds that keep going kamikaze in my upstairs sliders.

I mean, last I checked, I'm not a taxidermy. All right, in the last three months, my sliders have lobbed off more bird necks than Randy Johnson and the Juice combined. I'm out. Wow, Rackham. Not because it was good, but just go ahead and rack him.

He does have the best social media handle in my mind in the jungle at Linear Messenger. It's true, man. That those birds slamming into the sliders. We even get a little bit of that in the country. I get some of that in the country, to be sure.

Not as much as you do in Melbourne, I'm sure, but I get some of that. This guy's gonna get out in front of it. I like it. I like this kind of reverse trend, Los Angeles, Chris in L.A. Great to have you, Chris.

What's your beef? Yo, Jim, my beef is with DoorDashers complaining about their jobs. Like, yo, bro, you know they are one of the few employers at your will. Employers, plus, what type of business can possibly be successful when half the employees? Are renting e scooters by the hour, hoping I tip enough for them to get their next hit of fentanyl.

I'm out, dude. Hoping I tip enough so they can get their next hit of fentanyl. Hoping they make enough money to rent e scooters and that I give them a big enough tip to get their next hit of fentanyl. Ouch. Kevin in Frisco, is that the clientele you're dealing with?

Kevin, I didn't know that you were on e-scooter. No wonder you're so mad all the time. Kevin, what is fentanyl like? I've always heard that if you took it once, you could die. I've seen a lot of shows.

I'm not making a joke, even in using your voice, Kevin. Fentanyl kills. You idiot. You idiot! You didn't tip me enough to get fentanyl.

You idiot! I laid that scooter down for you.

Now I have to pick it up and ride it. You idiot! If you're wondering why I'm doing that, you don't know, Kevin. Kevin generally calls during this segment, so you might better understand that soon. You idiots!

Kevin, you idiot! I don't have the voice for this anymore at this point of my career, Kevin. This is taking a year off my life every time I do you, Kevin. You're the new hacksaw, you idiot. I just liked a Doordash customer getting out in front of the Doordasher who is going to kill the Doordash customer, like he preempted him.

One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Have to go to no. Want to go to Iowa, Josh? In Iowa, good to have you, Josh. What is your beef?

Thanks for the kind words, James. Today we're here to talk about adults over the age of twenty-four that have curse words on any part of their clothing. You got that stone cold shirt when you were nine years old, and you still try to fit into it in your mid twenties. Listen, man, you're wearing your IQ right there on your shirt. We all know how stupid you are.

Anyway, James, that's all the time I have for today. Thanks for being on my show. Until next time.

Well, thank you for having me on your show. How about can we use curse words on the radio for over the age of twenty five? That call sucked. Stop thanking me for being on your show. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six.

Does anybody have any profanity on their shirts? I'm trying to think in my closet. Do I have any shirts with four letter bombs? I do not. I do not.

Do I have any guests that come in here and drop the occasional four-letter bomb? I do, I do. Do I ever do it myself on this program? I do not. Do I ever do it on my podcast?

I do. Know your room. Just know your room. How about Tierra Verde? That sounds like St.

Pete. Either way, we're in Florida. Let's go to Florida, man. John in Tierra Verde, Saint. Hey, John.

Hey, John. What is your beef? Hey, Willie. I got a beef with the state of France, where they held the Steelers Saints game the other week. They ran out of food at the end of the first quarter.

Everything—no chips, no dogs, no popcorn, nothing. Do better. These cheese-eating surrender monkeys. Thanks. Cheese eating surrender monkeys.

I guess somebody ate all the cheese. I guess somebody went to France and didn't get any food at the football game and is not happy about that. Then again, you're not wrong, bro. If in fact you went to that game and they ran out of food at the end of the first quarter, they were not prepared. How's that possible?

Now, cheese eating surrender monkeys is a bit much, but he had a beef. Can't say that he did not have a beef. It is the beef segment. What is your beef? It can be about sports.

It can be about non-sports. It can be about work. It can be about life. It can be about family. It can be social.

Family. I don't even care. Family. Just bring me a beef. Where to?

Let's go to Green Bay. You know I love Wisconsin. Mike in Green Bay. Great to have you, Mike. What is your beef?

Go ahead, Mike. You're on the air. Hey, bro. My beef is with my male coworkers. Matt, whoever.

Go ahead, bro. Hey, my beef is with my mail customers who leave their flags up and they don't have any outgoing mail. Hey, it's for me to know if you've got mail for me, not if you've got mail. And then you get all bent out of shape if I leave the flag up after I deposit the mail. Thanks for letting me vent.

Have a wonderful day, dude. I got you. I'm here for it. Exactly. That's the whole point of the beef segment.

I'm here for it. He just said I needed to vent that out. Thank you for letting me vent. He said, "My beef, first of all, is when you have your flag up. That's mail carrier, and you don't have any mail.

That's a problem. And then you're mad at me when I give you your mail, but I don't put the flag down when you put it up, and you had no mail." I'll tell you something else about that guy. You know how smart that guy was. You know how great that guy was. He didn't correct me.

I was wrong. I thought he was Mike. He was actually Matt. He knew Alvin's rule. And I said, "Hey, Mike, yo, Mike," and he just stayed in.

He just, I just kept going, "Hey, Mike, hey, Mike." He's like, "I'm trying to tell you my beef, Rome." He didn't correct me. He's like, "Hey, Mike." Hey, Mike. And he waited a beat. He waited a beat, and he's like, "My beef is that was so great. That was so well played by him.

It's the single worst rule in the jungle. I don't like the rule. I want to do away with the rule. It's your show, Rome. Why don't you fix it?

I can't. I can't. Alvin's got the hammer." Alvin, for whatever reason, has his his cold dead hands around that rule. Don't correct the host, or you get hammered. That guy knew it was coming and played through it.

That was a genius call by that mail carrier from my Nashville. Cami in Nashville, Cami, what is your beef? Hey, man, uh. How about get the dead animals off the side of the road? You got like five guys filling up potholes, one filling, the rest leaning on shovels.

How about you guys going down the road and get that dang dead animal off the side of the road? That's all I got, Jim. Bye. Great job, Cammy. Who's By whose job is it?

Like who you who you yelling at? I don't even know whose job it is to get the dead animals off the side of the road. I'm not doing it. You're not doing it. Animal services, or I I don't know.

Certainly not pest control. Like like I've lived.

Well, we vacation. I don't live. Like any area, you will see dead animals.

Now, in Wisconsin, where we have a home, in Montana, where we used to have a home, we're talking really dead animals, big animals, large animals, not squirrels. I mean, I'm talking elk, bucks. I mean, big animals. I'll never forget one night. We were in Big Sky or either Livingston or Big Sky, but I was coming home from the rodeo, the Livingston rodeo, and everybody was asleep in the car.

It was like a forty-eight hours episode almost, and I'm just barely staying awake because it's really dark, Big Sky country, right? Like it is not well lit. It is really dark, and I'm kind of nodding off, and I'm nodding off, and everybody's asleep. This is one of those like terrible stories that could have happened, and I've got both hands on the wheel, and I'm watching, and all of a sudden I see a flash, literally a flash. I'm like, holy crap, what was that?

It was some deer, man. This jumped right out in front of the car, and I'm probably going sixty, and how that car, how that deer beat that car. How I missed that deer, I don't know. But anyway, was I gonna pick up that deer? That that deer was not gonna end.

That was not gonna end well on the side of the road. Cammy, who's supposed to pick that up? Me? You? I don't know.

Anyway, it is the beef segment, and Cammy is tired of the dead animals. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Let's go to the West Bay. Ren, hey Ren, don't let me down. What is your beef?

Thank you for the vine, Jim, and thank you for the time. Hey, I got a beef with no Golden State Valkyries championship coverage. Nah, I'm just playing, Jimbo. War, war, my Oakland Raiders. War Raider Rob, where you at, boy?

War War Tom Brady calling the Raven a. No, you don't like that car. I don't like that car. All right, friend. Not a very good car.

Let me explain you what just happened. First of all, you cracked me up. Actually, he made me laugh. He had a beef with the Golden State Valkyries coverage of the parade. He goes, Nah, just kidding.

No, I don't. That made me laugh actually. But then he just he didn't have beef. He just started warring things. And then Alvin ran you for quote having too many wars.

Anyway, dude, you did make me laugh. You actually did dig me. I'm like this dude. That's why I said, hey Ren, don't let me down, man. You don't really have a beef with the Golden State Valkyries parade coverage, and in fact, you didn't.

I'm like, come on, man. To get the hell out of here with that, I know you don't. I know you don't. Actually, having a pretty good time with the calls. I don't want to go to the written beefs just yet, Tom.

Should I? Let's try Toronto. I like it, Billy. Billy, good to have you. What's your beef?

Jim, my beef is with the ball and strike overturn in Major League Baseball. Look, baseball, do you want to get this right or not? Why do you only get two calls? You got a guy sitting up there in the booth who sees every pitch come in. Why doesn't he have a a thing with the umpire?

He just beeps the umpire and says, "You blew that one. Overturn the damn call." Why is it up to the players, the catchers? Maybe only the number three and four hitter and the eight and nine hitter can't do it. Overturn every damn call. You have the technology.

Do it, and you'll get every damn call right. That's it, Jim. Bill, you are pissed. Hey, obviously, not if you are going to run a guy for too many wars. Are you not going to run a guy for too many dams?

That was like Quentin and all his executes. Thirty-two dams should get you run. I don't know. I got a theory on that. I think the theory is they could do that.

And if you have the technology, why wouldn't you use it so you get it right every single time? But they turn this into kind of a game, and it's kind of fun, and you get challenges. It's a challenge system, not a get it right system. A challenge system, not a get the call right every single time system. And that way, they can fly in their graphic, and we can see whether or not they got it right or wrong, and turn it into a little chess game.

Yeah, I actually liked it. I don't have a problem with it this year. I think for the first year, it went pretty well. We got bigger problems, such as whether or not they're playing baseball next year. The lockout is supposed to start in a month.

All right, why don't we use that to go to break? Hey, do not. Do not hang up if you're on hold, because the calls were working, and I'm gonna walk this thing off with more telephone calls. And you never know what you get with the written beefs or the video beefs. If they're not that good, I'm coming back to you, callers.

Tavor, one of my favorite companies, and I've told you before, and I'll say it again: this how much I like this company. We used this company before they became a partner on this program. I didn't use the company once they became a partner. I was already using the company. I'm talking about Gusto.

G U S T O dot com. G U S T O dot com. Gusto dot com. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. At Edward Jones, we believe rich is about taking care of what gives your life meaning.

That's why your financial advisor personalizes your plan to help you preserve your progress and create something that lasts. Let's find your rich. Edward Jones, member SIPC. Start your day with a morning jolt of Drake Seetol. When the ball is snapped, it's in his hands and his hands only.

Ben Black and Abdallah. How about the records dictate who you play? That's sports. This isn't gonna happen. And Westwood One Sports Night caps it all off.

The Rams are the biggest disappointment in the city of Los Angeles. Without a shadow of a doubt. After a month of playing with fire, Texas finally got burned in Red River. Westwood One Sports Talk. Follow and listen on your favorite platform.

Okay.

Okay.

Man, I've got such a bad case of the Tourette's, and if I've got the jungle Tourette's, how you are ever? How if I can't cure myself of it, how can you ever get cured? All right, so let's go to the written beefs.

Okay, the column beefs were great. We will walk it off with some phone calls. Let's go to the beefs by video. That's actually become one of my favorite things this year. It is a digitized show.

It is a streaming show. We have a digital component, so why would we not have beefs that are digital, that are video?

So let's check them out. This guy is like the guy. This guy is the go-to guy in video beefs. We go to the South Side, Eric in the South Side. My man.

Oh, a concrete beef today.

Sometimes it's tropical. This time it's definitely urban and concrete, my man. What is your beef? Jim, my beef is that I'm in H Town, and you see all these empty parking spaces behind me.

Well, it's because it's a preferred parking where you can actually purchase to park in these prime locations, right? And these are the front rows right over here, and you don't have to pay.

So the early bird does get the worm. Why the hell would you have to pay in a parking lot for a spot that's nowhere near the entrances of either of the stores? You got me, Jim. I'm out. No, bro, you got me.

I have no answer to that. That is very specific. I like the way he swings the camera around to the sign. Preferred, paid parking. He's like, yeah, but over here you don't have to pay anything, and you're closer.

Yeah, but you're not closer to what though, Eric? Not closer to that store over there. Anyway, anyway, way to get specific with it, and topical, and geographical.

So Eric on the South Side was in H Town. He's a traveling beef artist. Let's go to Jim in Coachella. He has not left home yet, I don't think. Jim, via video beef.

What do you got, Jim? Hey Jim, it's going through my garage recently. And back in the early two thousands when we built this house, we were kind of out in the sticks, so we didn't have cable. We didn't have high speed internet. We didn't have satellite TV.

So you, at the time, you were pimping a product that that rhymed with bling socks, and I thought this would be a great thing to have in my house. But then when I went to hook it up, I realized we didn't have the internet speed to run it.

So my beef is, by the time we had the internet speed to run it, this thing was obsolete. That's my beef, Jim. I remember those guys. I remember those guys when they presented that product to us, and we were one of the first ones to see it. And then they got really rich, really fast.

And you, my man, by the time your internet finally caught up with that product, it was useless. Jim in Coachella. All right, got another one. Denver, a video beef from Will in Denver. Hey, Will, what you got?

What's your beef? Rome, what's good, man? Hey, my beef. It's with these country club squatters out here not paying their dues. War me lacing it up, having it on the smoker in an hour.

Come on, Will. Come on, Will. Come on. That's an elk reference. Little closer, little closer.

Come on, laced it. You still have that anywhere, Alvy? That was one of Alex' top top stories. Clones love that one. My man's talking about squatters in an hour.

I'll have him on a grill. This guy, Clark here, is made of mine. He he lives out in the woods, so he's got all these deer running around around his house. I said, "Mate, I said, you reckon we can knock one of them off with my bow, dude?" He says, "With your bow, yeah." Okay, he says, "Yeah, mate, no worries, come out, no worries." So I went out and grabbed a couple of bags of corn, went around the whole perimeter of his yard. You know, this is messed up, and got inside the house.

And I was the golf was on telly, so I was. And then they're watching the golf, and and Bullet was caddying for me. And I said, "Bullet, there's a couple of deer out front, there, mate." I said, "Just open the door a little bit, bit further, bit further." Oh, that's good, right there. Hold right there, mate. Hold there, hold there.

And I was right on the couch, and I'm watching Freddie Couples putt on this tournament in Japan. I said, "Hang on a second, mate." I went right through the door, mate, through the crack, laced it, had it on the barbecue in 20 minutes. Incredible. I mean, everything about that is so wrong to me. I'm not about that life, but that is incredible.

That that was peak elk, peak elk in the jungle, telling stories like only elk could. Had it on the Bobby, watching Freddie Couples putt. A little closer, a little closer. Laced it. That's where.

That's what Will and Denver was talking about. This is a great written beef right here, Rome. My son attends CU as well, and there is so many things I love about Boulder. With that being said, my beef is with every pedestrian in Boulder that feels that they're invincible as soon as they hit a crosswalk. No fake waves or fake smiles.

No eye contact. Just pure annoyance and invincibility. If they pulled that in Houston, they would get smoked by an F one hundred and fifty as soon as their feet hit the white line. Sincerely, Bill in H town. Incredible.

Great beef. Wayne Covio, fifty six, fifty eight, Rome. My beef is neighbors still having their Halloween decorations and still lighting them up at night. Take the pumpkin and goes down, you losers. Wore the Bills crushing V's and Jim's Vikings again, bro.

I do not root. I would have no problem with the Bills crushing V's Vikings. Oh, we got super chat. Haven't seen one of those in a minute or two. Appreciate it, Richard Japaro, twenty eight thirty.

Thank you, bro. Dear Jim, my beef is with my girlfriend who wakes up when I turn on my PS five and says, "What are you doing? What do you think? Go back to bed. Why don't you make me a sandwich?

What do you think? What do you think?" Bro, I think she knows what you are doing when you fire that thing up. I think she's excited that you are firing that thing up. Isn't that code for anyway? At Jet Stink, my beef is with the Westwood One guy talking about Lamar Jackson as a quote future Hall of Famer during the commercials.

Is it his injuries? Or an inability to throw outside of the numbers that will get him in at Old Trapper, bro. He is a two time MVP.

Now he's not going to go down as the greatest quarterback ever, like John Harbaugh said he would. But I don't think him getting a yellow jacket is that far fetched. This is Vincent Fresno, who's always very succinct. My beef, the sample vultures at Costco, Vince in Fresno. Yeah, really, have some pride at the sandlot, Jim.

My beef is with bringing my daughters to the dentist. I feel like I need a damn lawyer once I leave that place for my words and actions. Hey Miles, meet me at the dentist so we can get this done in one shot, and you can also have lunch with your wife. With your wife. This guy's back for more.

Richard Ciparo, twenty eight thirty. Beef with Steven Seagal. Enough said. This one says my beef. Retailers.

You lose that one. Retailers and people that want to bring on Christmas in October, just pass over Halloween, not too much, and pass over Thanksgiving. They just go straight to Christmas and rush to the end of the year. These are the type that put their Christmas tree up in mid-October. Why rush it?

I understand that these are the times that we're in, but why rush to get to Christmas? James in Indy. See what I mean? I told you that if the written beefs were not good enough, I would get back to the Colin beefs. Skipping that, Adam Taylor.

My beef is with Hunting Guy. No, dude, I don't want to eat that deer sausage you drummed up in your garage. Nor do I want any seared duck. I'll stick to beef. War I ray using sidewalk chalk to mark his address number.

I don't mind duck. I could deal with some deer sausage. Hey, I have a beef with middle aged guys with please be patient student driver stickers on their cars. Your kid is in his thirties by now, so stop trying to milk it for an easy merge. You will get no benefit of the doubt from me, and God forbid you pull out in front of Corvette guy.

Wait in Virginia. Dear Jim, my beef is with gasoline retailers who do not keep receipt tape in their pumps. I use the receipts for my taxes, and I do not like going into the store and waiting in line five minutes behind people buying cigarettes and lottery tickets. Do better, Bill in Florence, Arizona. Not in prison.

War rain in the desert. Romeo, my beef is with the person who stands by the front doors after I leave the self checkout, waiting to see my receipt. You just freaking watch me scan and bag all this crap. If you ask for that damn receipt, it's a reason to go. I don't care if you are a seventy-one-year-old lady, Ryan in Myrtle Beach.

Wow, Ryan. Do people do that? Is that thing? Do people ask to see your receipt? You mean on the way out the door?

Sean and Eliso Viejo, aka slave to the four and five pimp. My beef is with all the snot nosed kids on Halloween who told me, "Can I get a different kind?" When I handed them a handful of random bars from my variety bag, don't look a gift horse, taik. Oh, I got a beef. My beef is in this new country home. Jano bought so much damn candy, so much candy for the new nabe.

But funny, she didn't want to give it out this year, so she left it on the front door. The front doorstep, so much damn candy, not one piece was taken, not one.

So where does it end up? In the pantry. Who goes into the pantry every night? This guy, who was utterly furious after the sugar crashes and the handfuls. She she would look in the trash can the next morning.

She's like, oh my god. Do you know how many rappers there were in there? I said yes. Janet said, "How many?" I am like, all of them. Can you give it away?

Can you get rid of it? Can you not bring that crack in the house? Another reason why I hate Halloween. Pimp, my beef. People can't look at you in the eyes when they carry on a conversation.

Look, you loser, dweeb. If you want someone to listen and conversate, look at them. Yeah, dweeb. Jason in Texas, my beef. Freaking clones telling the Hall of Famer how to do his show.

How do I respond to that? Ding, ding. Where's the damn Liberty Bell? Dong. Where's Big Ben?

Dong. Nailed it. Yo, bro, you just won the smack off of that. Let's have a telephone call.

Somebody walk me off.

Somebody walk me off.

How about this guy, Mike? In Studio City, back to the phones. Hey, Mike, what's up, dude? What's your beef? Hey, Jim.

You know, as a connoisseur of drops, I've got a respectful beef with the goat, Alvy, regarding the falling down the well drop.

Now, I love the anvil sound, but it's not really appropriate because that's for heavy inanimate objects. And the splash doesn't really work because the well is dry, and that thing sounds like something fell in the ocean. What we need is a splat, i.e. Give it some thought, Albie. Search the library.

Thanks, Jim. I don't know. Thank you, Mike. One of your best efforts ever. Denny Nagel would have been impressed with that.

What we need is a split. There's Denny. Alby, that was pretty good. That that guy. Never mind finding a niche.

He's one of one. Nobody. Can do live drops, live drops. Maybe one, maybe you have one good one in you. That guy's got the entire catalog in him, and then all of a sudden, come up with something like this.

That was awesome. I could walk off on that. That would mean a number of you would be left on hold, but you're not gonna do better than that. I don't think. Let's walk it off on that.

Nice job! Great job on the beef segment. Good job. Good effort. We will come back one last segment.

We're not done yet. If you want to hit on something that we've already talked about and you want to react to it, it's not too late. In fact, that'd be a time to do it. Go ahead and do it.

Next segment. And we will have more. Stay tuned. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. At Edward Jones, we believe rich isn't about having life all figured out.

How about the records dictate who you play? That's sports. This isn't gonna happen. And Westwood One Sports Night caps it all off. The Rams are the biggest disappointment in the city of Los Angeles, without a shadow of a doubt.

I thank my pals at Old Trapper who make that segment possible because that's always a blast every single week. All right, so last chance, last segment. I want to talk about the big fella, Wimby, Wimby, Wimby, Wimby. R.I.P. Stacy.

Love Stacy King.

So, because we can't ignore it, right? When the generational alien does generational alien things, like I know that Wemby is normalizing generational, generational perform generational things. He's normalizing alien behavior, but we can't become totally desensitized to that alien behavior. We can't just ignore it when the guy goes fifty to twenty four and eight. Like, how insane is that?

It doesn't even sound like basketball numbers. Actually, the full stat line was fifty-two points, career high; twenty-four boards, career high; eight blocks, two assists, two steals, only one turnover, and a plus twenty-three in just thirty-four minutes. He did all of that in thirty-four minutes in a game that the Spurs won by only one point. Thirty-four.

So none of that was stat padding. Or garbage time. The Spurs needed every bit of that historic performance from Wemby just to win that game by one, aka the first game anybody has scored more than fifty, grabbed more than twenty boards, blocked more than five shots in a single game since the ionic Bob McAdoo did it back in 1974. Arguably the best big man game in half a century, and if you take it up to eight blocks, the only other person in NBA history who has ever had a game of fifty plus points and twenty plus boards and eight or more blocks is, of course, the Stilt, Will Chamberlain. And then after watching that game last night, those were the vibes, right?

Wemby was thrown off, wilt vibes, like change the rules vibes. It's almost like Wemby's playing a different sport. It's almost like that, even in a league of freaks. You know the biggest freaks of all freaks. This guy still is uncommon amongst all of them.

Like the sport needs new rules for this alien. It's almost like his physical dominance is no longer even fair. Like, imagine a league of the most dominant athletes, and you'd have to change the rules because this guy is so dominant over the most dominant athletes, especially on a night like that when he's feeling it. This is why I already call this guy the face of the league. It's because nobody else in the league can do what this guy can do.

Nobody else in that league has his upside. Nobody else has the potential to turn any night. Into a historic night like Wemby, my only concern, same as everybody else, is his long-term health prognosis. Can the guy stay healthy? Because it's hard not to hold your breath every single time this guy hits the deck, which is pretty often.

And I'm not sure how he just popped right back up last night after he rolled his ankle, but that's exactly what he did. He popped right back up last night after he rolled his ankle. You know, this is one of those shield your eye moments, except this guy did pop right back up. Lembi seems to be okay now, but he grabbed his leg when he fell down. It was a tweak of the ankle.

Yep, the foot. On Clayton's foot. I don't know. He's talking to the officials. I don't know what he thinks happened there, but that's just total inadvertent contact right there on the foot of Clayton.

It didn't seem like the ankle turned.

Sometimes you see it almost goes to the floor. Fortunately, now he's going to sit down. They're going to come attend to him, but he appears to be okay. That was a big miss by.

So if you're A member that organization in any capacity, and you see something like that. How are you not terrified? Like every single time, the entire franchise is just like on the verge, on the verge, right? And yet somehow that dude was fine. He came right back three minutes later.

He scored ten points down the stretch. He led the Spurs to the dub. Dylan Harper said he's never seen anything like it, and it's a testament to how well that big dude takes care of his body. Like Wembley may have the ability to go Gumby. I guess you can add that to the alien superpowers.

Gumby, Gumby, where's Pokey? Gumby, that was a funky show, wasn't it? Pokey, Gumby. Little clay figures, anyway. Wimby's a superpower and a class act, unlike a lot of the bags around the association these days, which is why it was tough watching him become the villain of the postseason.

This dude's not a villain. Wimby is not a villain. Definitely not that. Definitely not a villain. Definitely not comfortable being that guy.

And he's not a bag either. He's the kind of guy who. Would be the best big man in the NBA in a half century, and then just flip the game or the ball to his head coach, even though his head coach almost managed to lose despite his alien having one of the best games ever. Here, coach, you can have the game ball, even though I just went fifty twenty eight two two and one, and you almost blew it, Mitch. Anyway, Mitch, you can have the game ball.

Anyway, Mitch, I bailed your ass out, so you can have the game ball. Wimby, get a free Mobil 1 oil filter with purchase of five quarts of Mobil 1 Advanced Clean Motor Oil at O'Reilly Auto Parts.
