This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide. I can hold it in the book!
A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host.
Hello, and welcome to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East. And I'm so glad that you're with us today on Missions Monday. Want to welcome all of our listeners across the Truth Network family. all across Virginia.
Ohio. The Carolinas Here in Utah. We're going to have a great time talking today with my friend Gary Rodmacher. Gary has a real burden Four. a part of the world in West Africa.
In fact, the whole he's going to tell you all about it. But West Africa needs Jesus. And so Gary, would you share with us a little bit about How did the Lord put the the little country of Ghana On your heart.
Well, thank you for the opportunity to be able to share this Actually, it started when I just graduated from college Way back in 1972. I was 22 years old, and there was a group of students from our college. That uh Went to Ghana for the summer. We did it for three months and we taught. Bible classes to fifth and sixth graders in two different cities in Ghana.
And so that was my first exposure to Ghana. And I thought it might be my last. We did go for ten days to Nigeria and had a chance just to kind of see what that country was like. Then I came back, went to seminary. Pastored for 33 years, youth pastor, Bible college.
Professor. And in 2018, my pastor came to me and said, Do you want to go over to Ghana for and do a pastors conference? And I said, yes, I would love to. And he had no idea that I'd been to Ghana before, and I had no idea that he had been to Ghana some thirty or forty years later.
So forty years forty six years later, I came back to Ghana for two weeks to do a pastors' conference to about fifty or sixty pastors. And when we did that, there was just a clear sense that. Uh God could use me. in this country. When I was a pastor, I always thought, well, I'm never going to retire because I've never read about retirement in the Bible.
So I'm going to just keep ministering ministering some way or another. And uh I saw that That there's people who are pastoring who don't understand the Bible. I've seen the same thing in other countries. I had an opportunity to do some.
Some uh Training with people who are in Latin America, and I saw that many of them. feel called, I was in India as well, and I feel they feel called to To be a pastor, but they really don't know what they're doing. On Saturday night, they're opening the Bible and saying, God. You know, what should I say? And So God said showed me clearly that He gave me a theological education, a Bible education.
I need to give it away to other people.
So that's what's driving me.
Well, praise God. There might be a listener out there who has been to Ghana, has a similar kind of a burden for this country in West Africa. And maybe you'd like to share. Yeah. stories, your experiences, your heart for Ghana.
Let me give you a number. And I know that just from hearing from you today on Truth Talk Live would be a blessing. Maybe you have a question for Pastor Gary. Here's the number you can call. It's eight six six Three four eight 7884.
That's 866. Three four eight. 78.84.
So Gary, as you think about uh these is the more recent times that you've been back there to Ghana what strikes you as some of the dynamics of that culture? What kind of things are we dealing with? What are some of the challenges? You had 50 or 60 pastors out there. Do you want to share a little bit about that?
So here on Missions Monday, we can get a kind of a snapshot of this part of the world. Yeah, so if you go to the website for the country of Ghana. Um They they'll se tell you that uh Ga Ghana is seventy one percent Christian. and then a a certain percentage Muslim and then the rest are you know, pagans or or animists or whatever they call them.
So Um so Most people w that that I talk to They use Verbiage that you would probably identify them as a Christian. But if you were to ask them, Well, how does one become a Christian? Um that would not be so clear. You know, uh go to church. Uh Do good things, that kind of answers what you get with them.
But if you say, How are you? You know, a typical answer from people in Ghana would be, oh, by the grace of God, is how they would answer. How are you? By the grace of God. And uh So they're very, very friendly.
I'm being in the capital city for the last seven years. When I go to visit, I've visited for as short a time as two weeks and as long a time as six months.
So I've had quite a bit of experience in the country there and They They um They're eager to learn, and that's what's so encouraging to me because there's people who are trying to be to lead a church. And unfortunately, most of the models, the most prominent models for them are what we would call here in America prosperity preachers. And so that's they're the ones who are on the big billboards, they're the ones who are dressed in ISIS, they're the ones who have the. the titles like Apostle and Bishop and and profit and and those kinds of things. And so they're the ones who write the books, etc.
And but the but the but the people are are are eager to learn. They want to know how to how to uh Yeah mind s mind truth from the scripture. uh by themselves and so they're eager to learn. I had an opportunity This last trip, I just was, I spent six weeks in October and November. And there was a man who had communicated with me that I had met before in 21.
And he wanted to partner up with our mission. Our mission is called IT Global. And the, and we're in several different countries, I think 24 different countries, and we do online and in-person. Training, biblical training for uh disciple makers who can make other disciple makers. And uh that's kind of how we How we uh uh roll.
So, um Uh anyway, this man had a c c uh named Charles Charles Van Dyck, it doesn't sound like a very African name, but he contacted me and wanted to know how he could partner with our ministry to. He had a group of pastors who wanted to receive training. And turn come to find out they had been involved in a in a semi-cultic group. Uh from uh From the E, from the from Asia, a group had come over and They taught them how to preach the gospel But they were preaching the gospel from every single passage of scripture in the Bible. Every passage of scripture could be turned to preach the gospel, and they were taught to use what's called an allegorical.
method of interpretation. And uh And so they didn't they didn't know how to To you know, to they didn't they never taught about how Christ impacts your marriage or or i in the workplace or You know, just the things that we need to know. What does the Bible have to say about how a church is supposed to run? Everything was always the gospel, and they loved the gospel, but they just felt like. I it they were so and the reason I say that they were semi cultic is because the group that that they were a part of wouldn't allow them to read books by other people who are outside of their group, which is kind of the sign of a culted group.
And so they're just so hungry to to learn.
So when I went to meet with him, I thought I was just going to uh talk with them You know, for an hour or two about our mission, but they said, No, we want you to teach us. And so, impromptu, I taught for six hours. on marriage relationships and on interpreting the Bible. And so They're just eager for me to come back again and teach them. There are several of them that are taking courses online from us as well.
Stay with us if you would, Gary. We've got a break coming up. But we're going to continue this conversation. I want to pose a question to all the people out there that are maybe 60 and older. Maybe you've had some Bible training.
Time to pass it on to some people in Ghana. Maybe that's where God wants you to go for a mission trip. We'll talk about it more here on Truth Talk Live. Stay with us. We'll be right back.
Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East, your host. I'm with Gary Rodmacher. He's been sharing with us his experiences serving the Lord as a pastor for many years and then. Having the opportunity to go back to Ghana after having been there around those college years.
And so maybe, Gary, before we talk a whole lot more about Ghana, would you want to maybe just kind of give a shout out to all the folks out there that the world might say, after you get past sixty, sixty-five, Like that golf course is, you know, kind of calling your name, you know? The beaches are calling your name. Um, You you know what I'm alluding to here? It's it's something that we can To some degree, yeah, we we might have to kind of change gears a little bit. Um and and but there's a lot of of mileage that we have left on our tires.
So let's change the name of that concept of retirement to retiring. Let's retire our car. Let's put another tire on and keep going as the Lord gives us strength. What do you say to that? Uh you're seeking my tune.
Um This is the passion of my heart, is not only to do the ministry I'm doing, But to try to inspire other people who are at this stage in their life. I'm not 60, I'm 75, so. And I'm asking God for 10 more years at least to be able to continue to do this.
So God has been investing in the lives of people, the people who are listening to us. And it's time to give him a return on his investment is one of the ways I like to think about it. He has been teaching you, he has given you experiences. You've touched people's lives, they've touched your lives. It's time to take that and turn around and give it away.
And I'll tell you what drives me. Rush, is that Um you know, the Bible says in Second Corinthians five ten that We must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account for the deeds done in the body, whether profitable or worthless. And um That sobers me up. You know, when I was younger and I heard that, I didn't like that verse. Because it sounded scary.
And but I but I studied it and I've I've understood what it means. And and there is going to come a time when when every one of us, our eyes will meet the eyes of Jesus. And that moment in time is, to me, is the most important moment in time. That's what I'm living for. That's what I want.
And I would like to encourage as many other people as possible to realize that will happen. You will be one on one, face to face with Jesus And all I want for him to do is smile at me and say, good job, Gary. Um and I I'd want that for everyone who who who is following Jesus Christ. Um you know. Yeah.
There's a lot of things that can attract our attention, like you suggest, the golf course or traveling the world or things like that. But this is an investment that will pay returns throughout eternity. Yeah. I I read in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2 that the source source of our joy in the presence of Christ is going to be the people whose lives we've touched. And uh Yeah.
It seems so common for Christians today to say, Well, I got my ticket to heaven. And then they just sit back and relax, it seems, or just do the minimum, go to church and give money, you know. But God wants all of us. He wants every part of us. And uh and I was just talking uh with the My grandson, who just turned twenty-one next month, and I just said, You know, If you're not following Jesus, you're not going to make it.
Anywhere in life, you need to follow Jesus because He's the only one who can enable you to have a successful life. And Jesus said, you know, uh if you want to come close to me Um Deny yourself, that is, say the same thing Jesus said in the garden: not my will, but yours be done. Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow me. And that's where the fullness of life comes in. And so it's not just you know, going to to to Gh Ghana uh I'm interested in the man across the street from me as well, and and the the homeless man that I'm that I'm that just gave his life to Christ in our town, and I'm counseling him and and uh doing uh discipleship with him.
Um This is This is a life. life um It's a life pattern. style I guess you would say Yes. And so maybe this would be a good time to just talk a little bit about ITEE. You mentioned IT Global.
It's a ministry. Bet kind of orchestrates some online training for those in foreign countries. for people that want to be servant leaders in churches. And it's just something really exciting. And I'm looking into it to try to put some time into that as well with the ministry with Utah Partnerships for Christ.
And I was just doing a Bible study with a friend of mine, and You know, God's word is just this never ending well. Of richness and depth, and it's God's Word, it's inspired by the Holy Spirit. You think you might have a pretty good grasp on God's Word, and then you just dig a little deeper, and then you just can't help but want to share it with other people.
So tell our listeners. Gary about About ITEE, what it stands for, and how people can get involved with that and even help financially.
So when I came back from Africa the first time, I was looking for a school that I could connect up with. And it took me about three years to find this school. And as soon as I saw it, I said, I want to be a part of it. It's called IT Global. That's how we say it.
It's it's actually the the letters are ITEE, which stands for Internet Theological Education by Extension. But we just say IT Global. 'Cause it's easier than I T E E global. Anyway, um It's a ministry that's only been around for about eleven or twelve years. But we're in 24 countries.
Right now, I'm facilitating a class online in the Gospel of Mark. And I have eleven students. They're in Zambia, Kenya, Uh you know Ghana.
South Africa. Uh Pakistan. And I have one student in the UK who is who is Ethiopian but who moved to the UK.
So I have those students and I interact with them during the week, the a term. We have three terms a year, so that lasts about twelve, thirteen weeks. and we and they have a curriculum, they go online. Most of them do it on a phone. because they don't have Uh you know, I'll uh tablet or a laptop.
But they do their work, and we can communicate, we can Zoom call from time to time, or we can. uh com con communicate with one another on WhatsApp. And it's just amazing to me to see I I went this past fall, like I said, I went to Africa, October, November. And for the first time, I didn't just go to Ghana. I did two pastor seminars.
In Ghana, and then I did one in Togo, which is a French-speaking country.
So I had Two people helping me translate, one that was translating what I was saying, and then one that would translate what people were saying to me. And right now, we have seventeen people who are signed up and taking our first class, which is always the book of Galatians, is the one that everybody takes for their first class. And it's just exciting to see that. And there's opportunities for people to be involved. If you've been a Bible teacher at any time or taught a Bible study or or anything like that, and you'd like to say I'd like to do that, with people in other parts of the world, there's an opportunity for you to do this.
We have several people who aren't were never pastors, but just active, involved people in their church. and have taken on an opportunity to become a facilitator. You don't have to come up with content. The content is already there. You just need to be an encourager and help people along the way.
So excellent. Yeah, and there's many other things that people could do. We're going to keep talking about Ghana. and the work there that's going on. We have another guest coming on, so stay with us.
Stay with us, Gary. We've got a gentleman named Kurt. Who was just in Gaudu? Back in August. He's going to share some of his experiences back there.
So stay with us. Call us if you have a question. 866-348-7884. We'll be right back here on Tuesday Live. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.
This is Russ East. I've been having a great conversation with Gary Rodmacher, and now it's going to get even better because I've got another friend. His name is Kurt Schneid, and Kurt He is a professional videographer. He went to Ghana In August of 2025, with our friend Fred Wilson. And so, Gary.
Kurt, I want to introduce you guys to each other. You guys are going to become lifelong brothers in Christ, well, you're brothers in Christ, but now you're going to become friends forever because Kurt, you had an experience in Ghana that you won't forget.
So, will you share with our listeners and right here with Gary, who has a heart for Ghana, about what happened when you got over there? And and you got that that camera rolling. And there was some really great stuff that happened. You want to share with our listeners about this? No, I'd be happy to.
Hi, Gary. Nice to meet you. And, Russ, thanks for having me on today. I have nothing but praise reports. The the love of Christ and all that God did and helping me to get there and get settled.
It certainly didn't start off without a hitch. I had a lot of struggle getting my visa approved, and it didn't get approved by the time my original air flight took off. And then It just it looked like it might not come through at all. And I was disappointed, and God used that time for me to really realize and think about. You know what it is that I'm supposed to do while I'm there.
You know, as a cameraman, as a filmmaker, I had one idea in my mind, a professional idea in my mind, but God used that time. For me to really sow in my heart his purpose. and in his prompting for me. And so I I was supposed to be in Ghana for a week. And by the time my visa came through and I was able to get on a plane and get there.
I only had like three days. And so we arrived in the morning time and landed. I got picked up from the airport, flew all night. Got there in the morning and got to the hotel, put my bags down. Grab my camera and we there in Accra, in in the the capital city of of Donna.
And my travel partner, Fred, walk the the campus there. and was able to meet with some of the participants and church members, and just share some of the truths about the Mormon faith. from America that's not being promoted or shared in the Mormon teachings in Africa. And so Yeah. Once we got established that day and up and filming.
Uh i it it was clear that God's hand was all over that trip. We went from one meeting to the next to the next. I remember thinking at the end of day two that we had been there a week because it was only. the end of the second day But we had done so much, we had met so many people, we had touched so many lives. And God was doing a work not only through me, but in me.
And I've shared with so many people since coming back, Russ, that You know, I had heard people talk about missions. This was my first time on a mission. And I had heard people say, you know, I went to serve other people, but I ended up getting served. I went to teach other people, but I ended up getting taught. I went to love on other people, but I ended up getting loved on.
And that was absolutely true for me across the board. It was an incredible experience. And such a blessing. It really was. I want to hear more about the moment when.
just to help our listeners know the backstory here, we went there to help to Um educate the Christians on how to reach Mormons for Christ. In that part of the world, because there was just a lacking there of understanding of really seeing what Mormons believe, and just really show that we need to reach them with the true gospel because they have a different gospel, a different Jesus, a different spirit, and they're teaching this. Mormonism is all over the country, so we're trying to reach them for Christ in a loving, compassionate way.
So, Kurt, he got to roll the camera when our other gentleman there, Fred, was witnessing to somebody, and or is actually some Mormon missionaries, and I'll have him tell the story of what happened there. But But Gary, when you're hearing that, is that just doing your heart well? What kind of thoughts do you have and maybe a question you have for Kurt possibly? Oh, well, yes, it reminds me you know, short-term missions is is a great, great thing. It just it it Transforms your worldview.
I thought the United States was the center of the world, and when I went to Ghana at 22, I realized. you know, they get along just fine without us. And uh but I but uh I I uh I hear your heart for the Mormon people where I stay usually. Just down the street from me, I walk by the Mormon uh church building or whatever they call it. And uh So I'm aware I see the I see the young men on bicycles.
So Yeah, I'm heartened by hearing that there's people who are interested in Uh teaching the truth. Yeah, it was um It was an incredible experience for us. We at the end of the second day, I had mentioned we we had um we had an opportunity to speak directly with some of the Mormon missionaries. the ward was within sight of the building where we were staying, the YWAM church facility where we were staying. And so we could look out the window and see the ward and see that there was no activity there.
But at the end of the second day, the lights were on and there were a couple of missionaries there on bicycles. And so we went over directly. and met them and started speaking with them and had a wonderful, engaging and respectful conversation. Very interesting, as Fred was sharing some of the messages and the love that Christ has for Mormon missionaries and some of the perspectives that we wanted to enlighten them to. A gentleman nearby, there were people all over the place, but there was a guy sitting nearby.
And listening. And then, as we left, we had convinced these missionaries: why don't you come across the street with us to the YWAM facility, meet your neighbors. And you know, if you're interested in in the lessons that we're teaching and the concepts that we're saying, you have people right across the street from you here that you can speak with that can help reveal Christ's love Uh further to you. And as we started off across the street, this gentleman stopped us and said, you know, that he had been listening and asked Fred if he was a man of God. And we confirmed, and he said, Well, I'd like you to help me.
recommit my life to Christ. And so we said, absolutely, come with us. We're going over to the YWAM facility. We're going to take these two Mormon missionaries over there. We start off across the street.
Now we've got the two Mormon missionaries and this gentleman. And then two more Mormon missionaries met up with us as we were approaching.
So we had four Mormon missionaries and this guy. We walked into YWAM and woke everybody up and got everybody out of their bedrooms so that they could meet everybody else. And we just had a nice time of fellowship. And then we all together with the four Mormon missionaries and all the pastors and the Christian trainees and everybody at that YWAM facility, We all help this gentleman recommit his life to Christ And it was just a beautiful moment of humility and love and grace. And testimony to the truth and the power of Jesus Christ.
Those Mormon missionaries Okay. Those Mormon missionaries got to see firsthand. how truth r resonates in the heart. And can bring a man to repentance. And that love of Christ is incredibly powerful.
Yeah, praise God for that. And if you didn't have your camera there and you there's that skill in knowing how to capture those moments and be able to catch You know, the the r the all the nuances of that. And that's what God is. Has gifted you with the equipment to use and just the wherewithal and the know-how and everything. Hey, I'm just going to go ahead and give people an opportunity to get in contact with you, Kurt, because.
May maybe there's a an event uh or an outreach where where you could do what you did for us. In Ghana.
Well, just give us a quick website address where people can contact you. In case there's another ministry, who knows? Maybe Kurt God wants to take you all over the world. I would be happy to serve alongside any ministry that is doing God's work in the world here. Our website is accessstudios.com, and access is spelled AX.
C E S S And then Studios S T U D I O S com, accessStudios. com, and we provide high quality video production and digital marketing services for mission driven businesses and nonprofit organizations and, of course, ministries of the Lord. it's an honor to be in that position. Yeah, imagine imagine. what what what kind of technology we have today where we can you know we take it for granted but Think about all the ministry things that are going on.
All around the world, and to have it captured and archived and passed on to others through social media and audio and radio and internet. I mean, you can show this, you can relive it, you know, and that's so exciting just to think about.
So I'm so grateful that the Lord worked it out. I remember us trying to. Track down your visa, and boy, that was a challenge. I think there was a little bit of spiritual. What's the word called um Warfare going on.
You know, there's some spiritual warfare, I think. Because, man, like you say, when you got there, great things were happening, and they continue to happen.
So there's opportunities we have to go back there. We've made some connections at Liberty University to try to get we want young, old, middle aged, whoever God is calling to go to Ghana, Africa. We're just Really moved by the Lord to make this a mission field that has a Has a change in the landscape, you know? And we want to just keep doing what what you've been doing, Gary, for many years. What Kurt and I have just started doing, and we appreciate all your prayers, all the truth talk.
Live family listening. We're going to come right back after this break. We have one more segment. I want to pose Galatians chapter 1. To Kurt and to Jerry, we're going to talk a little bit about this passage.
and how we can apply it. to our friends in Ghana. We can equip the Christians. We can educate them to what the gospel really is.
So stay with us. and we'll be right back. Truth time. All right.
Well, welcome back to Truth Talk Live. This is Russ East, your host. I am speaking with you from beautiful North Ogden, Utah, sunny skies, blue skies. It's a beautiful day here. And maybe you're on the East Coast though, where you're not experiencing that.
You've got a lot of snow and ice, and we've been thinking about you, and we'll be praying that you guys get through these storms. And so if you have a question for Gary Rodmacher with ITEE, the Internet Theological Education by Extension Ministry, then call us at 866-348-70884. Leave your name with our call our wonderful call screener. Grayson, he will take down your information if we can't get you on, but we want to just. continue to encourage you By way of also hearing from Kurt Schneid with Access Studios, And uh so guys, I'm gonna read this passage.
And then I'll start with Gary out of Galatians 1. Then we'll have Kurt chime in. What comes to your mind when I read these verses? In Galatians chapter 1, it says, Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead. And all the brethren which are with me unto the churches of Galatia.
Grace be to you in peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from the present evil world according to the will of God and our Father. To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, and to another gospel, which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we are an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have. which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men?
For if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man, for I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. That's quite an opening to this letter that Paul wrote. Gary, what are some thoughts that we can draw from this passage?
Well, certainly, the gospel is clearly enunciated by Paul and other writers of scripture It's a simple gospel. It's not a complicated one. But it but it um It can't be changed. I I love the way that John says it in his gospel. He said there's a lot of other things I could have written about what Jesus said and did, but these are written in order that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ.
the Son of God, and that believing you might have His life in His name. And so, as I read that and understand it, it's the the resurrection life of Jesus Christ is a gift that God gives to those who believe that Jesus is both Divine And the Messiah, the promise, the fulfillment to all the promises that God made in the Old Testament about one who would come. Who would bring peace to the hearts of men and someday peace to the whole world? Amen. Amen.
Heard. What are some of your thoughts when I read that and you see what was happening in Ghana and trying to kind of? You know, protect the Christians from a false gospel. We love these Mormons out there. I don't want anyone to think anything other than that.
Doesn't that passage just Does it ring true with what was going on? Oh, it absolutely does. I mean, it articulates much of what we see. in the LDS Church, in the Mormon faith, Um You know, the enemy seeks to pervert and to askew, and that's the meaning of sin, is to miss the mark. And even if it sounds close to the truth, but it's not the truth, it can lead you astray.
And so, what we see in the LDS church. You know, it's nice what what they write, it's nice what what their book says, but it's not the truth, and it's not the way, it's not the light, it it's not the love of Christ. And that's enough to keep people away from the truth and away from the love of Christ. And Paul clearly articulates. You know, this is not of man.
This is not of human origin. He goes on to say, you know, that he's received this revelation from Christ And and you know, if you knew who I was, Paul says, you know, and the things that I did, and and now that I have the truth, I I'm now promoting the the the people and and the the religion that I I once tried to destroy. And it's just it's a clear testimony, a clear warning against false prophecy. And it's all to equip the young Christian with the shields necessary. To avoid the fiery darts of the enemy that will burn up your life, that will cause you to go astray, that will keep you in bondage in sin.
And none of that is necessary, for with Christ, all things are possible. And if you just try. Trust. In the Lord. He will love and protect and guide you out of hell and into the many-room mansions of his father.
And it's just Absolutely, you don't Uh Overwhelming. I don't even have the words. It's not inspiring. Yeah, yeah.
Well, I was just on the phone today with a gentleman, never talked to him before, but he was sharing his story how. He has left the Mormon church. And I can't wait to meet with him next week because we're going to talk about what that means for him. And so you can just continue to be praying for me here in Utah. 'Cause boy, you know, he he was really impressed with the passage that says, I can't re re recall the exact reference, but where it says, Well, you know, we've done all these things for you in your n even in your in your name, but but then j but then uh Jesus says, He says, Sadly says, depart from me.
I never knew you. And so this man doesn't mean, I never knew you. I never knew you. And so, and then so this man, this dear man I'm talking to on the phone today. He's like, I want to, basically, he's saying.
I need a relationship. I need to know who you are, Jesus. And I can't wait to have some more interaction with this guy. This guy is just really cool. Just someone introduced me to him.
And so, you know, that passage, though, that I just read, you know, that was the passage. That the Lord Prompted me to read the day I got saved. I had never, I was 14 years old. And I'd gone to a Christian church upon invitation, and my whole family went, and I got saved that morning. I trusted Christ as my Savior, and I didn't even expect to be going to a Christian church that Sunday.
I was going around knocking on doors to do yard work at 14 years old, and a lady invited me and my whole family to go to a Christian church.
So never stop inviting people to church. You know, that's what we can do in Ghana. But I went to church, and I got saved at that church, and then I went home, and I took my Bible, and I flipped it open, and I said, God, what do I need to do? Do I stay in the Mormon church? Is that a Christian church?
I just had this experience with you now. I know you, but. And I'm not kidding you guys, my thumb stopped. At Galatians chapter 1, and I still have that same Bible today after all these years. And my thumb went right down to that part right there, and I circled it.
And I started crying as I started reading that very passage I just read out of a Bible that my grandmother had given to me. Yeah, so that was a very important passage for me personally. And I know in the hearts of so many people, I believe, Gary, you were saying that with ITEE, Gary, you guys teach through Galatians, don't you? That's our first course we teach, yeah.
Okay, what a great book to go through. And uh So we've covered a lot of ground. Gary, I'm going to turn it back over to you. Do you have any questions for Kurt, like for the future? Like we're looking at going back there, hopefully, again, maybe taking some Liberty students.
Maybe we can partner with Gary. Because Gary, are you looking at doing like another pastors' conference? 'Cause I know uh yeah that's that's kind of in the works possibly, right? what I do is is pastors' conferences because I'm a pastor and I and like I said, God gave me that experience and the education, and I just want to pass it on to others. And they're just so hungry to learn it.
So when I went to Togo, which is right next door to Ghana, they said, Oh, would you come back twice next year?
So, if It's really gratifying. Uh I have to tell you, uh um Currently. That I went over to Ghana for eight weeks in 2020 and ended up staying for four months because I got stuck there with COVID. Yeah. That is wild to think that that happened right at that moment, but somehow God gave you the grace to get through it, right?
Right? Oh, yeah. Yeah, a great opportunity to be involved in ministry for a longer period of time. I love it. You know, I went there, as I said, you know, primarily thinking my job was to technical.
My job was technical, to run the cameras and the microphones and capture everything. But God opened doors for me to. introduce Fred as he was getting ready to teach the congregation. And then God just put words in my mouth and concepts on my heart and allowed me to share my testimony and how He's worked in my life. And he opened the ears of the Gahanian people And I I made the offer to to pray with some people after the church service.
And I tell you, Gary, nearly the entire church stayed after the church service and lined up in queue To pray with me, there was a line down the one side wall and around the corner. It it was incredible how open the hearts of the Gahanian people are for the love of Christ. And just a beautiful country and people. And I can't wait to go back. Hey, speaking of prayer, we have to go now because the music's on, guys.
I want to thank you. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day. to speak to our friends in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Utah. We love you guys. Thank you for being part of the Truth Hawks family, praying for us.
Thank you, Kurt. Thank you, Gary. We'll see you again next time right here on Truth Talk Live. Truth time A quiet
