So. Overreaction Mondays out there for everybody. Take in on our our YouTube channel as well as podcasts. And I bring it up to start this show because on that Overreaction Monday show that we recorded yesterday before our Monday program, Christopher, the last item you threw out there was if the Bears beat the Seahawks on Monday Night Football, they should be talked about as the team to beat in the NFC. And if you know, if you noticed, if you noticed, I said very little about it.

I kind of shined it off because I needed to essentially see Monday night before saying if this is a proper reaction or an overreaction. And now we've seen it. Bears Super Bowl contender? Should they be considered as such? I've written down the answer.

Yes, I wrote down yes. Oh my! Oh my! Is right. Oh my!

Oh my! Is yeah, man. The Bears showed up to Seattle in a mood. That's what you need in this league. You need to show up in a mood, and they showed up looking for a fight.

Fixing for a fight, eager to be in that arena. To use the Tom Brady phrase, they were up for it. You could see it right from jump. They were all over Sam Darnold with their new monster of the midway, Jeffrey Simmons, and then got the ball back. And this is where I pulled up a chair.

And I think the whole country pulled up a chair, because it was in that stadium, just eight days before, that the defending Super Bowl champs looked the undefeated Chiefs in the eye and said, "Not tonight." As a matter of fact, we are—and the word I've been using—we are going to erase you from the field. Patrick Mahomes, 165 passing yards, zero red zone possessions. We are going to. Kick your tail, and send you back to Kansas City, wondering if you've been exposed. And the Bears took the field against this dark side defense, and marched right down the field to start this game off with a remarkable seventeen-play, eighty-yard.

Eight minute and thirty two second long drive, in which Caleb was picking the defense apart with Loveland, and Luther Burden the third, and DeAndre Swift, and Ben Johnson was dialing it up. And the thing that got me was the way it finished off. And it was unbelievable—a three-yard run by Roshan Johnson to the Seattle one, and they immediately got on the ball, going fast. Seattle not able to get their ducks in a row, and made everybody assume they were just going to run the same play right back. There was even a cutaway of Ben Johnson on the sideline barking.

At the team to go fast. This was the moment to go fast and get the dark side defense all confused or not ready for the same play. And as Peyton Manning pointed out on the Manning Cast, it was all a charade. They were making it look like they're going to run the same play, and instead, Caleb rolled out and found Luther Burden for the touchdown. And it's like, okay, we see you.

That's your plan. You come in with a plan, how to attack this defense, how to attack this defense with your own trickery, and come out and bloody them, and see how they can taste it. Holy cow, that was unbelievable. And sure enough, you know, Seattle stays in the game with a field goal in the first half, and they're punting all over the place because Jeffrey Simmons is making this defense better, and you're seeing it. And this is a thirteen-nine game going into halftime because finally, Sam Darnold has enough time to find Jackson Smith and Jigba for a touchdown, wide open, miss the extra point.

Thirteen nine at half. Bears get the ball to start the second half, and the Seattle defense starts to show up. Punt, but the Bears get the ball back after another three and out by Seattle, and there comes a ten play, sixty nine yard drive, where good lord is Caleb Williams deadly accurate, deadly. He's something else accurate. Twenty to nine, and Seattle.

Just when you think this thing is toast, the defense comes up big. They finally sacked Caleb Williams. They could hardly put pressure on them with their front four because the Bears' offensive line was in a mood. Caleb's finally sacked. He also throws one out to Colston Loveland, who coughs one up.

Seattle, when they get turnovers in their building in a night game, it is a frenzy, and you cannot stop that train. Sure enough, touchdown, two point conversion, three point game, and the Bears. How do they respond after a Cooper Cup touchdown and a Horton two point conversion?

Well. Seattle starts making mistakes, and we'll talk about Seattle later on with the flags and the 15-yarders, a late hit out of bounds on the kickoff, giving the Bears terrific field position from which they get lucky. They get lucky. Third down in no man's land, they're going to run it because they're going to go for it on fourth down. A loss of what looked like three or four yards, but the play doesn't count because.

There's a delay of game penalty, and it's third and nine. Troy Aikman even called it. It's like one of those horror movies, Seattle fans, where you could just see the the guy, the chainsaw coming. Even Troy Aikman was right on it, saying it's the best thing that could have happened to him, because now Ben Johnson gets one more crack at it, and he dials up. What looked like a scream, but it was beyond the line behind the line of scrimmage to Luther Burden, who just goes on a 39-yard scamper to set up a DeAndre Swift touchdown.

Boom, ten-point lead, from which the Bears turned Sam Donald over one more time because he didn't have any time to breathe, and another touchdown for DeAndre Swift, three on the night, and the Bears. Leave Seattle. Just like Seattle left Kansas City, looking exposed. That's what the Bears did to Seattle. Seattle's defense all over.

Pat Mahomes all over him. They couldn't protect him, but that four-man rush that Seattle likes to send. The Bears kept Caleb clean for much of the night because he also gets rid of the ball fast, and also Ben Johnson frequently has the Bears in the right play. It is all clicking for Chicago. Ben Johnson had this to say about that big moment in the game after Chicago was up by only three.

When the pressure's high, we want to be at our best, and I, like you said, all three phases did that, and so. I, I think you find out more about your identity as a team when you get put in those situations, and you talk about it as much as you want. And yet, to go through it, to live it, and and to see us come out of the other side, it's I think it's good for building our team because that's really where we're at right now. We didn't we didn't come here to make a statement. We're still building.

We're still building, and this is part of that process right now. And and you know we got a lot of really good pieces. Guys are. Owning up to their roles and every little way they can impact this game in a positive fashion, they're looking to do that. To use a phrase from a famous Chicago movie about pieces and finding pieces, the Bears have found themselves a pretty big piece and are placing the phone down and letting everybody come find that one-armed guy with the legs.

And the deadly accuracy, and the total complete package that they hoped Caleb Williams would be. This dude, man, he is doing it all. Caleb Williams in this game. You want to talk about passing the test in this game? First quarterback to throw for over 200 yards against this Seahawks defense this year.

Third game this year for him with a 70% completion percentage. Do you know how many of those games he had last year? Zero. Already has three of them right now. His 70.9% completion percentage.

Is second in the NFL only to JJ McCarthy, who you have to throw out because he's only gotten one start.

So he's basically tops in the NFL when it comes to being accurate. Oh my goodness gracious! When he's not pressured, because Seattle couldn't touch him last night, he's got an 86 percent completion percentage. 86. How many times did he put the ball where only his guy could get it?

Oh my goodness! Is he deadly accurate? And he can't—he extends plays, and that confidence that he has—it just oozes out of him into every pore of anybody playing with him on any side of the ball in any of the three phases. It's a fact. And he was asked if that, in his mind, is his role when it comes to showing up in a place like Seattle.

I like to say that I'm one of those guys that that steps up in the big moments. I like to say I'm one of those guys that creates some energy for the guys. I like to say I'm one of those guys that. When we need a play, when we need some energy, when we need anything, I want to be there and I want to be that guy. And so, sure, if that's if that's you know what it is and what it takes, that's that's I mean, I'll do whatever to to get the win.

Oh yeah, well, how good is he, guys? Extremely, you said he puts him in elite status. It's elite. Yeah, yeah. I was saying it yesterday.

You can see this coming. You can see it. You could feel it for Chicago and Caleb Williams. They win that game last night, and now we're going to be talking about him all week. Super Bowl favorites.

Caleb is now top five MVP, and I think it's all warranted. No doubt. Three straight games since coming back from the hamstring injury. Thirty or more points for the Bears. It's the first time they've done it this decade.

And then Ben Johnson talking about him. I mean, the the machine that he has built, and this monster of a quarterback that he has ushered after a disaster of a first season for this kid. Hit it. We knew it was going to be challenging, and this was one of the more Elaborate game plans in terms of what we were asking him to do as well, and that had a lot to do with their scheme and and we needed that out of out of him to to make sure we were getting into a good play that had a chance. And so, you know, you still look down.

He had a couple delay games and false starts and things of that nature.

So the crowd did did impact our operation, but he stayed calm, cool, and collected throughout. I think that. There were some times where it can get a little bit chaotic, and yet he didn't allow that to phase him at all. Cool, cool, cool. Under pressure, the Ice Man, right?

And and so, listen, I know he said Ben Johnson, this is not a statement game. They're still building.

Okay, so so how does this sound? They beat last year's Super Bowl teams from Super Bowl sixty in back to back weeks. They beat New England last week. They beat Seattle last night. It's the second straight year they went into the home of the defending Super Bowl champs and whipped them.

They did that to Philadelphia the day after Thanksgiving last year. That's when last year you want to talk about statement and building. That was the that was the one last year where you are like, okay, this is real that they're building it in Chicago. That's not two years in a row the Bears have done it, and you know you have to sit here and wonder what it's going to look like this year. Obviously, it's just two big games.

I get it, and the Week Two result can show you how quickly things can go poof for the Bears, right? Caleb turns twenty five Week Eleven. Ben Johnson is forty years old. Ryan Poles is forty one. And I understand talking to Bears fans for decades.

You are wondering when are we going to get the quarterback? When are we going to get the coach with the quarterback? When are we going to get the GM that's going to put everything together? And when we're going to get the the McCaskey family to figure it out? Done, mission accomplished.

Now I know that's you know that's a famous phrase in this country that's premature, but. It's a great. The table's wired. The table's wired. Jeffrey Simmons on top of it.

Jeffrey Simmons on top of it. Roll it, roll it. It was unreal, man, to to be accepted that fast. You know, to be able to, you know. To know that this city, especially in Chicago, they breathe football.

They they they they behind their their sports team, and I'm happy to be a part of it. I'm happy to be able to have that like this type of fan base behind me, and just that. I think that just a small part of it. You know, this not even our home crowd, so to be able to have that on a a road game, that's big, and you know. Like that's that's what we need.

That we need that energy from our fans, and like I say, I couldn't I couldn't be more happy to be a part of it and have them type of fans. How about this? Okay, hey, anybody out there wondering if Ryan Poles did the right thing?

Okay. Yeah, what did they trade for him again? I already forgot. Exactly, a sack, six tackles, two for loss in the Bears' debut. Right, he played forty-eight snaps with his orange sleeves.

By the way, you know he wears bright-colored sleeves so his three-year-old daughter can notice. Daddy on the field—that's awesome.

Well, the whole league knows.

Well, he's called. We're call him Daddy, right? That's the smartest thing he could have done. He played 48 snaps. The Seahawks were held to three yards per play, and the Bears' defense as a whole had three sacks and an interception when he's on the field.

When he was off the field, the average yards per play for the Seahawks was 13.3. Get out of here!

Okay, so I get it. Yeah, it's one game, and last week I was talking about the defending champs are back with Seattle.

So, but holy crap, was that all three phases tail kicking of the defending Super Bowl champs? And you bet, San Francisco on their bye week had to sit up and take notice. And the rest of the NFC has to take notice that this division is so deep. As we know, everybody's over 500 in the division, and the Vikings already have won in Chicago. That Week Two game is definitely a leg up for them moving forward.

But Bears sure look like the team to beat in the NFC moving forward. Cause that last night, they will go into anybody's building and rip your heart out and show it to you, pumping. And if last thing too, because okay, weather's going to get colder. How does this team look with the offense that they run?

Okay, when it gets colder, as if last year didn't show you what it can do. But it's not so high, you know, falutin an offense. That in their operation, when it gets colder, will be difficult to execute. They have seventeen rushing touchdowns this season; it's the most in the NFL. And the last time the Bears had as many through eight games of a season was nineteen fifty six.

So they will hit you in the mouth, and then when they don't hit you in the mouth with the run game, they have a deadly accurate. Very confident, king in the making. That's what I took away from last night. I don't think I'm mincing any words or going a little bit overboard. No, at at all.

He's playing like a number one draft pick should be playing. Correct, and it's all working. It is an overreaction Monday on a Tuesday as well. We'll hit that. Josh Page just zoomed in, so let's make sure we get to him as close to on time as I possibly can.

Against Ohio State, oh man, he had to go screw things up because everything was nice and linear towards towards the result. I was I was happy for them that they got the win. I'm not sure what it changed. I'm not sure if you felt the reasons you felt towards Lincoln Riley about not coming through in big games before that. That merely doing what he should have been doing a long time ago against someone with a backup quarterback changed your mind.

I'm not sure that it really altered. Course of history, and then, by the way, how often do you come on air with prepared statements in your pocket? Yeah, that was wild, Josh. After beating Ohio State, he had a prepared statement about you know winning and what it meant to him, and sort of a manifesto in a way to read at all of his haters. I said, Josh, I don't, I don't even write stuff out.

On Emmy nights, ever you know, like I don't, you know what I mean? Just, just do this while you say I win Emmys, and I don't even write stuff. I don't win. Oh, he did with Lucci. It's not a flex, man.

If if you're the Susan Lucci of sports television, but listen, that was wild. Yeah, he did that. Yeah, so I've got a group text with several buddies of fan bases. USC is one of them, and they they hated it. Because they were all celebratory, and then they're like, "Wait a second, what is he doing?" Because their viewpoint was, "Why is he taking the one time that he's done what he's supposed to do, which is you know beat big time competition, and turning it into this referendum on him?" Like the last thing you walk away thinking about is the players or the fan base.

It had to become all about Lincoln Riley.

So I don't know that it really changed anything. But I will tell you, what would change something if they continue to win and then they go to the playoff?

Now that fundamentally. Changes something, but they still got a little ways to go before they do that. And in terms of that, um. The Ohio State now learning what life is like with a a young quarterback who is talented but potentially not ready for big moments, and then it affects the rest of the team. As you could see, I'm not just laying it all on Phase Lap, even though it sounds like I'm doing it.

But it's a quarterback-driven sport, as we all know. Have we identified the team that should they get a third loss is still making the college football playoff anyway, Josh?

Well, if we have, I don't think it's Ohio State.

So we talked about this. We talked about this two weeks ago. You remember. We we painted the scenario that some of us got lambasted slash lambasted for. We've never nailed down the pronunciation, but the mere mention of Ohio State maybe losing a couple of games down the stretch just tarred and feathered you.

Well, now they've lost one; they'll probably lose at least one more, and they'll be a nine and three team in that scenario. And there'll be other nine and three teams out there. I think the difference is that committee has shown the propensity and willingness in the past to judge you based on. Or injured quarterbacks, FSU being the most glaring example in 2023. Also, they will have gone.

I think that would be three and two without Julian Saein, and they'll they'll be viewed as a pretty ice cold commodity in that path. They probably will have not played for the Big Ten championship, so I don't think they're in there. I do think there are quite a few teams who, if they are three loss at the end of the day, would have the resume to push them over the finish line. Texas comes to mind. Maybe LSU comes to.

Mind off the top of my head, there's an outside shot. Alabama is that. This is not an exhaustive list, by the way, but I don't think that Ohio State is one of those teams.

Okay. Speaking of Alabama, they're at LSU. That's how much water's under the bridge with. With Lane Kiffin, is that this is what two angry fan bases ago? You know what I mean.

Like, so it's Alabama at LSU, Texas at Missouri, Georgia at Ole Miss, Kentucky at Tennessee. Those are the four SEC matches that jump out.

So, which one do you want to highlight here for this upcoming week, Josh? Alabama LSU's just gonna be insane. It's the kind of day where probably the fourth biggest game would be highlight material. Texas Missouri would have maybe been the biggest game in the country last week if it happened last week, and we could go through this entire conversation and not even touch on it.

So Alabama LSU, last time we saw Bama on the road, it was in Neyland, and they were a mess, totally discombobulated.

Now the thing that both of these teams have in common is they've been really banged up. Bama's been badly banged up, and I was. Literally twenty minutes ago, talking to someone down there about the. Prospects of maybe getting their center back, getting Ryan Williams back. They've been down a number of defensive guys, and this is the kind of all hands on deck.

If you can walk, you're going to be out there type type attitude.

So the same thing goes for LSU. The difference is last time we saw LSU, they were red hot and they were finishing going into the bye against Mississippi State and against Auburn and just smoked them by a combined like sixty something to eighteen. Those are two of the three worst teams in the league. That doesn't mean anything. It just means that LSU still got to do it against quality competition.

When we do those playoff reveal ranking things tonight, and LSU is wherever they are, I guarantee you.

Someone's going to sit there on your TV screen, and they're going to accurately say, "Yeah, LSU's losses aren't terrible. That's not some albatross." But where are the high-quality wins? It doesn't matter because they have the ability to secure those in the next three weeks against Bama, Texas, Tennessee.

So, so get a load of that, boom, boom, boom. Yeah, I think also over the past couple of weeks, I mean, when you've seen Sam Levitt. You've seen Sam Levitt in the pocket, just carving folks up. And if he can do that Saturday, and Alabama has has shown the ability to be picked apart a little bit, LSU's got home field at their back. I don't care what Lane says, even at two thirty Central Time, it's pretty tough place to play.

And Alabama can't protect Russell, then it's going to be a long day for Alabama again. Yeah, it sure will.

So, how does this all shake out? Do you think? You want to crystal ball it for me here? Josh, at the end of the day, November dust settles. We're just at the top of November now.

What do you think? How many? How many of these teams did we mention here? Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee. That's eight terrific teams that are.

Let me make sure I got this. Eight of the top nineteen right now. How many do you think make the ultimate? The ultimate here of the twelve. I am.

I've been on four for a while from the SEC. More and more, there's a path to five, but that's if all the losses in the SEC kind of fall the right way. Because the top eight in the league all play each other this weekend. It's almost like it was written that way. And so you got a bunch of losses that are going to be scattered around.

You just got to wonder how many three loss teams are in the bubble, like in the mix at the finish line, and then you got to stack that on. Top of two more pancakes. One of them is in the Big Twelve. Does that sort itself out, or do we see Texas Tech just win out, and then Utah win out, but then or Brigham Young win Saturday against Utah, but then Utah beats them in the rematch? And in that scenario, you've got three potential Big Twelve teams in, and then the Big Ten.

I have no idea how that's going to shake out because Ohio State's technically in the thing right now, Indiana's technically in the thing right now, UCLA's undefeated, of course they're in the thing right now. Do you? Supremely confident, putting your vote of confidence in Penn behind any of those teams right now, given how they've looked. And so, I don't know if they're going to have two teams in in the Big Ten, three teams.

So, a lot of that and how it shakes out is going to impact whether there's a fourth team and especially a fifth SEC team in. Right, and then there's Miami, Notre Dame, and BYU and Utah. Is there any way, shape, or form BYU and Utah is a knockout game? Do you think? Based on the numbers, the numbers game you just unfolded, Josh.

Yeah, there is a way. I think maybe more so for Notre Dame because Notre Dame doesn't have a conference title to play for. Brigham Young does.

Okay, so last Saturday was a low key disaster for Notre Dame, and which sounds weird to non college football fans who are listening because you are like, "Hold on, let me look." Well, they they beat Navy by three scores. How could that be a terrible day?

Well, it's because Wisconsin lost handedly. And Notre Dame very much needed Wisconsin to keep winning to boost their resume. And then SMU losing to Syracuse was a huge kneecapper because those two, theoretically, one of them SMU theoretically in the future, were going to be the two ranked wins. Those were going to be the two things in case Notre Dame loses to Miami that they were going to be able to look at and say, "Yeah, we lost two games against top ten, top five competition, close, but look, we do have some quality data points." Buddy, the quality got drained out. Those data points.

So you better beat Miami Saturday, or else you lose and you're a two loss team. And I've got a strong suspicion, by the way, that when those rankings come out tonight, Notre Dame's going to be several spots lower in the playoff rankings already than they are in the AP poll, which has been drunk for a few weeks on Notre Dame.

So they're going to probably start in like that seven, eight, nine range. My guess would be eight, and that's going to be a clear indicator. Your odds, like your chance to springboard yourself, is this Saturday. There are very, very few chances after this Saturday if you lose to springboard yourself. In which case, we'll look back at the Brigham Young game, and you could very well say, "Wow, that ended up being a knockout game, and we didn't know it at the time." Great, man!

It's part of one of the many reasons why I love having you on here. It's just it—it's such a massive puzzle. With so many teams right now, and I don't want to go down again the twenty four, the expansion, and the drama that we just discussed over the last few minutes here, kind of would have a lot of the air let out of it. UCLA, Bob Chesney, our friend Bill Simmons on his pod was very adamant that they're going to extend him, kind of. Got an idea why he would be so secure in saying that as to who he might be talking to on that front.

I'm just going to leave that out there, and it that sounds accurate. It sounds accurate because it makes sense, and and and I think Bill would know. Is this true? What do you think? They're going to extend him.

They're going to hold on him, or or is this going to be a Bob Chesney Palooza as soon as this season ends? I hope it's true. I hope it's true about Chesney. I hope it's true about Will Stein. I hope it's true about I mean Jake Dickert at Wake Forest.

I hope it's true about a lot of these guys. I love the new landscape. There's some things I don't like about the new landscape. One of the things I do like is you can win anywhere now. That's been proven.

You don't have to mercenary yourself towards one of the ten evergreen pastures in college football.

So I mean I don't want to tell Bill how to spend his money, but if that's how they're choosing to spend their money. There more power to him. The one thing I wish I could see is I wish I could see Bob Chesney doing his part, which he's doing in a Rose Bowl that's more than fifty percent to capacity, which they're not necessarily doing right now. I don't know that he cares about that. I think he cares about a path to win, and I think he knows in time if we're winning here, they'll show up.

So I hope that's true. The other thing you got to ask yourself is. In the scenario where Bob Chesney was looking to leave, which jobs are going to come open right now? We got Florida State. You're insane if you leave Bob Chesney's current situation for Florida State.

Right.

So I'm going to go ahead and mark that off the board in case anyone's wondering.

So what what else is open? Like where else are you going to go? We kind of we kind of need we we need puzzle piece B to open before puzzle piece A can even talk about such things.

Well, where do you think other puzzle pieces might open? Josh, the only ones that would even theoretically make sense would be Michigan, would be Texas, would be the the biggest of the big, and I want to very very clearly state even then. Yeah, I don't think it's some guarantee that Bob Chesney would leave, nor is it a guarantee he needs to leave. I'm just saying, right now, I look across the landscape. Texas isn't think of the playoff race.

You would know more than I do about Michigan, but I, at the special circumstance, at the very least, so those would be the ones where if they came open, you'd have to do a circle back. You'd have to take a second hard look at this. I think they're smartly just trying to get ahead of the whole thing and lock them down.

Okay. So where you go? Where you going Friday? Where you gonna be?

South Bend, Indiana, my friend. Yeah, you are South Bend, Indiana, and for kids who grew up in the rural South, taught to hate Notre Dame from birth. I think I think my dad spoke to my mother's tummy when I was still in the womb, and and said Notre Dame. We don't, yeah, we don't like them down here. But then I grew up, and I got to go up there, and it's become my favorite campus.

It's become my favorite place to go. Just, it's like a movie scene. It's unbelievable. Can you imagine Miami coming in there? Temperatures in the low to mid 40s by kickoff Saturday night.

It's going to be awesome. Going to be awesome. I'm old enough to remember the convicts versus the Catholics, Josh. Like that is a long time ago with Miami and and Notre Dame. And this one around, man.

You know this is this is going to be great. This, I would love to see this in the college football playoff too. You know what I mean? Like this is the sort of old school, if you will, blue blood stuff. And and on this campus, it's going to be great.

You got a a key to the game before I let you go for this? Yeah. I I was listening. I know that I besmirched the good name of Dan Orlovsky last week, but I thought Orlovsky made a good point when he's not talking about arts. He makes great points, and he made one about C.J.

Carr, and he said it feels like when you watch tape of C.J. Carr, he's capable of more than they ask him to do. And I agree with that. I didn't put it as eloquently as him, but I agree with that.

So Miami's pasty Billy Edwards carved them up against North Carolina last week. Like Edwards played a really good game, and you've noticed a couple of quarterbacks play the you know quote unquote game of their lives against Miami.

Well, partly it's because you can get Miami through the secondary, and Darian Meats and them are probably gonna score on you. I fully believe Notre Dame's got the offensive juice if they so choose to use it to trade. Points with Miami. The total on that game's mid to upper fifties. By the way, the total is going to be way higher than the air temperature is, and you wouldn't normally think that about a kind of a rock fightish sort of game.

That's not the way this game will probably be played. I just want to see how much they sort of embolden C.J. Carr to turn it loose.

Okay, I look forward to that.

So you're saying when it comes to Arch, you agree with? Orlovsky zero percent of the time, but on C.J. Carr, you agree with him a hundred percent of the time. Just to put it on percent, I was in the office the other day. We were looking at coaching buyouts, and there's this special.

I'm going somewhere with this, I promise. There is a special clause in Dabo Swinney's contract, which is going to be totally irrelevant. But the clause anyway states that if he goes to Alabama, he owes like a hundred and fifty percent of what his buyout would be. Oh no! And so I hit Orlovsky.

And I said, "Hey, to your point, man. If we're measuring percentage one to one hundred, how can a hundred and fifty percent of something even exist?" And he is the new mind blown emotion.

Well done, Josh Payte.

Well done. You know, I think you will find a a brother in arms in dislike of Notre Dame with Taylor Lewan. I don't know Compton's opinion on the subject matter, but we'll see. Bussin and Payte on campus Friday, two Eastern on ESPN. Have a great time, sir.

Thank you, everybody. Check out obviously Josh Payte's college football show on YouTube. All right, let's take a break right here on the Rich Eisen Show. Eight four four two. For Rich, we'll turn to the WeatherTech Fan Line when we come back.

Stuff with Josh Pate right there. By the way, did I make it sound like I think Simmons is putting his own money up? Did I really do that? Because that's not that's not what I'm saying. Oh, okay.

But I think he's accurate. That's for sure.

Well, I know you want him in Michigan. Why would you say that? I haven't said that into this microphone. It's been a disappointing year, but I don't know. Eight four four two zero four.

Rich is the number to dial here on the WeatherTech Fan Line. I can't believe we haven't gotten a call from Chicago yet. Miss Bears fans from all over the country. A lot of Bears fans calling. Can't believe ESPN one thousand.

I want to hear from you. They're probably hung over, right? Howard in Los Angeles. Let's get him. Howard.

Hey, Rich. First of all, I am long-time listener. I I admire your your whole body of work. I've enjoyed watching and listening to you for years. Appreciate that.

I'm honored to be on the show. Oh, wow! Thanks, Howard. You're a Bears fan sitting right here in the city of Angels, huh?

Well, yeah. I'm kind of like you know I'm a Bears fan. Like What was that show with Kunta Kinte? You know the the guy that wasn't from Africa, but he, yeah.

So my whole family hails from Chicago, and I built a relationship with my father over Chicago sports. And I, you know, you're not talking to somebody that you know is on the bandwagon since 1985. I I go back to Bob Avellini and. Bobby Douglas, and so this is as good as you've seen it, right? I mean, I understand there is the eighty-five Bears, and the only comparison you could make, I guess, from Caleb to to Jim McMahon is a, they're winners, and b, in with Caleb's shoes, it's kind of like.

Him thumbing his nose in the in the face of the league, although he did wear, I guess, what logoless shoes last night. Covered up the logo last night, correct?

So, but you got to be out of your skull right now, right?

Well, I am, and I think you know the fact of the matter is after after living through you know fast forwarding through Justin Fields and Mitch Trubisky and all that, and this is the inaugural franchise. Of the NFL with the Hallis, George Hallis, and the family, and the way that they were bottomed out for so long, it it just killed me, you know. And so now I'm I'm looking ahead, and of course I'm loving what I see, and you know Simmons and everything. It's great, but I'm I'm also looking at Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant's going to come back in December.

They they do need some help in that secondary, you know.

Well, one there, no doubt, not quite the same guy, right? No, no doubt, Howard. And thank you for calling and call back, please. And I appreciate your kind words there. Listen, you know what helps the back end of the defense, Jeffrey Simmons up front.

Seriously, I mean, last night Simmons did what he did, as we know. Austin Booker blocked the field goal and then tipped the ball that went into the hands of James Lynch. Right, Montez sweats back from his two game suspension. He and Simmons go back to their college days together. I mean, so he just makes that.

When you put that piece right there in the middle, it makes everyone around you better and the back end too. Hey, listen, JSN eight got his because he just gets his every single night. But I mean, we'll talk about Seattle in a minute here. Let's go to Jeremiah in Alaska. How are you, Jeremiah?

I'm doing fine, Rich. How are you today? I'm doing fine. Are you calling into this show because you think it's the other Rich Eisen rather than the incumbent Rich Eisen, Jeremiah? Is that what's happening in there?

No, no.

Okay, very good. Just want to make sure you got it all straight.

Okay, very good. What's on your mind?

Well, I was. I'm a Raiders fan.

Okay, and I'm really happy that they're at 500 right now. Yeah, at this time of year in November. And I was wondering if this last game, where your Jets, if the Jets are jetting again, or if the autumn wind has finally come to Vegas. Amen. The Vegas Raiders are not in the realm of winning games that they're supposed to win.

Right? Like every win is worthy of being celebrated. Quite frankly, yes. And so it doesn't matter who the opponent is; they're going to fly all the way across the country and win that game. It looked like the Jets had their best.

Offensive game all year, and the the Raiders absorbed it and gave it right back to them, and came out with the win. And in terms of moving to lose that game, exactly. Jeremiah, thanks for the call, greatly appreciated. I've got my top five teams that are not dead yet coming up next hour, and the Vegas Raiders. I'll give you my two cents on on them a little bit more there, but they're five hundred.

They're in the mix, in the mix. They're only a game out of the playoffs right now.
