I'm Bart Winkler. It's great to be with you again on this Monday, November second. We are live after a Bucks loss. The Bucks are going to fall to one and six on the season. They fall to the Timberwolves without Anthony Edwards.
He's going to be out a couple of months, but still, that's a better starting lineup than I thought. I thought, okay, no Edwards. Bucks maybe can steal one. Jaden McDaniels is good. They've got Kaminga.
Forgot about that. Rudy Gobert. Rudy Gobert's. I mean, he's tall, so he's gonna get a bunch of blocks. He only had one tonight.
But then, like, there was one play early. Gobert tried to. Rebounded, he just swats and it just bounces up high and just like falls to a buck. He would be a polarizing guy to to root for if he was on my team. Better than not, probably, but there would be moments.
The soon move come over from Chicago a few years ago, and then they've got Lamelo Ball, so it's still a good lineup, much better than ours. Bucks started Kyle Kuzma, who had two points and did very little. Hakez had 19, Turner had 13, Tyler Hero had 21. And Braden Burry's got to start. Braden Burry's got to start tonight.
Twenty six points or twenty six minutes. Going to be a while before in the twenty six point range, but nine points. He was four of fifteen shooting, so he'll have to work on that. A season high for points right now is fourteen. That was the game they played on Halloween, Halloween, Halloween night against the Cavs.
So the Bucks have one. Win on their ledger right now. That's against the Pacers, and if you think the Bucks are bad, I would like to alert you to the Pacers. Although they kept it close against the Hawks tonight, they're two and six, but they're starting what? They're starting four, five.
Was Jalen Slosson, Jarris Walker, Jarris Walker, Jay Huff, Quentin Jackson, Braden Smith, and then Kobe Brown got thirty-eight minutes off the bench. They only went six deep. They played one sub. What is going on over there? Why is everybody hurt?
And when did they get Kelly Ubre on that team? Either way, Bucks do lose and they fall to one and five on the season. Again, I'm Bart Winkler. This is into the Winkler verse.
So this is the second podcast recorded on this Monday. The second. Carlos Ortiz joined me. We did the national perspective. I talked about the World Series and the football weekend, and even some WNBA for you, real hoopers and hoop heads out there.
So, if you are, if this is the one, sometimes when I like throw a bunch of pods at once, then it's like, what did I?
So, t here is a Carlos episode too that is out today. If you are just checking, and there will be an back. That will be back tomorrow on Tuesday.
So Paul will be back, and Grant will be back. Wednesday we'll do another Bucks post. Might have another one in there for you. Intentionally have planned Brewers episode, and then Thursday the picks with Horvat.
So these Bucks shows, I do want to do Bucks post game shows, or at least we'll be going live after Bucks post games. And we can talk about the Bucks, or you could talk about whatever else you want. Do not think I'm about to do 45 on the Milwaukee Bucks. I mean, I don't even—I don't know that I could. I think—I think you can give me a topic, and I can go for you know a while.
But on this specific Bucks team, I'm not sure what I could get 45 minutes off of. I wouldn't talk a lot of X's and O's. I would talk about like tickets being low, but now do you even want to go? That kind of thing. The things that I'm most curious about.
Well, first of all, let me just talk about my bet. I bet that they would win 30 games, and if they're going to do that, they need to win like one out of every three games.
So to go 30 and 52, pretty much you're going. You're batting, you're batting, you know, three hundred or thirty-three percent, and I put five hundred dollars on that bet. Um, again, it was going to be twenty-five for the over/under twenty-five and a half, but I didn't like the odds. It was five hundred to get three hundred back. Didn't love that.
So I thought, if I'm gonna if I'm gonna risk five hundred, I need something to look forward to rather than just get my money back. Um. And so I found thirty wins at plus two hundred, which is pay five hundred, get a thousand. Garrett says, "I think the more games they play, the more they gel. Second half of the season, team for sure.
I would agree with that. Although, what are they going to do at the trade deadline? Is going to be a question.
So even if they start to gel, what are they going to do? The trade deadline is hero gone or others gone." You know what this team could use right now? This team could use a seven foot freak athlete. Is what they could use. Giannis would be their first, second, and third tallest person.
This is not a very big team. This Bucks team. Jake says vets are ass. Kuzma is jogging out there.
So I, I'll get into that. But I also did something even dumber because I figured. I figured.
Now they're one in five, and I still think they're going to win thirty.
So what I'm going to do is I'm also going to bet on these games that they're huge underdogs. And then if I can start getting one or two every couple weeks, then I'll I'll make my five hundred back.
So if they would have won tonight, I put twenty on the game tonight. With our friends at Potawatomi, Potawatomi, this is going to be the greatest sponsorship of all time because I'm going to give them all the money back and then some.
So they know what they're doing. I don't, but I always love popping it.
So I did not win on the twenty, but we'll do it again against the Celtics later in the week. They got to win some of these. They got to even if you look at their schedule coming up, they got to win some of these. Right, I'll make my money back. I'm just doubling down, tripling down.
That's how we're going to do it. The Bucks' schedule is it is not it is not good. If you have a bet where they need to win 30 games, so here's who they have coming up: Boston and Toronto this week, and then Boston again on Sunday.
So you've got two of the better teams in the East. You see them three times this week. Then you go to New York next week. Lakers come here to the Magic, Hawks. We've got the Miami game.
Let me throw that up too. The Miami game is coming up on November 18th, and Tim Shea and I. I want the banner on the Dan Shayne YouTube stream. Tim Shea and I are going to invite you and whoever to come hang out at Pota with us.
Now, if you just want to come there that night and watch the Bucks and Heat. With me and Tim and some other Winklerverse members, you're more than welcome to do that. The table I'm at, though, is going to be for me and Tim, and then the winner. And we, me and Tim, are going to cover you and the winner's beverages and food for the night.
So it's a great thing that we've been able to do with our friends at the Potawatomi Sportbook. If you want to get in on this, we're going to keep it open for another week. Um. Email just one time. All you gotta do is one email.
Email. Um, what is my email? It's intothewinklerverse@gmail.com. I thought it was like Bart at Winkler. I forgot intothewinklerverse at gmail.com.
Intothewinklerverse at gmail.com. Just say hey. Let me know who you are, and one person at random will be picked. Probably by the beginning of next week, and then that will be Wednesday, November eighteenth.
So we'll have a table for you again for the food and drink. If you want to make some bets, that's on your own accord. I will probably put fifty to see if the Bucks. I don't know. I I got a the whole the the main reason for this bet was to win money, but also I thought it'd be a fun hook throughout the show.
Like, why are we talking Bucks? Why it's a season? Why, why, why would we even come and and talk to Bart about it?
Well, you love the Bucks. We've been doing Bucks post game shows for years, but they're they're especially bad this year.
So I thought this would be a nice hook to see if I could get the thirty. Um. Going to be tough again. The schedule coming up not great. At some point, that has to lighten up.
The problem is when you're trying to look at easy teams on the schedule, it doesn't help when you're one of the worst teams in the league. You, that that's three or four wins right there. We can't play ourselves. I didn't really consider that all too much. MC says, counterpoint: If the Bucks were ever to beat the Celtics this year, it would be when they play them twice in one week.
Yeah, so I'm going to keep doing this. I'm going to put 20 on the Bucks against the Celtics on Wednesday, and I'm going to put 20 on them against the Raptors on Friday, and I'm going to do it again on Sunday, and and we'll go from there. That Sunday game is that? That's at night. That'll be after Packers Patriots.
We'll be doing the post game show. I believe there's another game that's about to go on right now. If it hasn't tipped yet, the Panthers, the Milwaukee Panthers, are at USC. I also put five on that one. I did put five on it to pay out one hundred and fifty.
Ah, pick them to cover, not money line. I know, but if I'm gonna, if I'm going to make, see, I'm trying. I'm chasing my five hundred dollar bet. That's what I'm doing because the cover, yeah, I just win the twenty bucks back. Don't.
This is all. Don't talk me into smart. This is all horrible investment. Horrible investment. Don't talk me into smart.
Okay. Post game shows are brought to you by First and Bull. Check out firstandbull dot com. That's how you type it. The word first, the word and, and the word bull.
It is a great space for indoor games, group parties. Actually, I'm going to throw up the website here to give you a little bit of a look, and I'll be there with a party in a couple of weeks.
So I'll show you some more stuff. They're in Tulsa near Mayfair. But they've got a bunch of different things that you can check out. There's parties, events. Let's go around here.
You got the open play. You got the kids' party. You can have corporate events. You can do adult parties, birthdays, bachelorettes, reunions. This is great too.
In the winter is when they see more business because how many times do you get stuck in the winter wondering for something to do, especially if you have children. I don't want to slander Kids Empire because I I like Kids Empire. Big Kids Empire guy. I think I've aged out of Kids Empire, or at least my kid has.
Okay, so I need somewhere else to go. This is a great spot. First and Bull. Check out firstandbull. dot com.
Here the kids' parties I'm looking into. You get the pizza and the soda, and there's some packages. All of these rates, by the way, you do get 10 off with the promo code Bart.
So it's promo code season once again. 10 off promo code Bart first and bull dot com, and the promo code Bart's also good at happyplacehemp dot com. 25 off each and every order at Happy Place Hemp. Dot.com. I've also got my eye on, as you probably do, the Bears and the Seahawks game.
Bears are up twenty to nine. I went through some of the divisions with Carlos today. I don't know who's winning the North. I think if I had to put my five hundred dollars on it, um. The Bears.
I mean, the the Bears. They're playing well, right? Seattle's got to come back at home to beat the Bears. They're down two scores.
So this Bears team is good. Make make no doubt about it. They're they're good. I don't think they're great. I think the the problem is Chicago thinks they're great or Super Bowl bound.
I think. I think they're kind of like us. I mean, all these NFC North teams are—they're—they're nine-win teams that might win ten or eleven. We won't. Packers won't.
We'll win nine. But the Bears could win ten. The Bears could even win eleven. Little Sam Darnie rollout. Little touchdown.
Cooper Cup.
Okay, I captained him. That's his first catch, I think. Let's go. Let's go. Come on.
20 to 15 now in favor of the Bears. I also want to find a box score for the Panthers game and the Badgers one tonight. You know, some of these nights too, we could talk. We could talk Badgers a little bit. They beat Denver, although not by much.
Okay, USC is up 10-5 on the Panthers.
So we'll we'll see. When we need to pay a little more attention to this one, but I also have an interview with Bart Lundy, head coach of the Panthers. Basically, we need to breathe. I don't know how Marquette did. How did Marquette do?
I'm not a Marquette show. Did they win? You're right. No love for Marquette. I'm not a Marquette show, and I don't.
Oh, they! I'm sorry, I didn't know they beat Mercyhurst. If I knew they beat the Mercyhurst Lakers, I think I, I think I would have reconsidered.
So, congrats to Marquette. Yeah, I'm not a Marquette guy. Oh yeah, Brewers were at the game. Um, Brewers were at the game. Bryce Terang was there even after us.
These guys are like. These guys are burning the midnight oil. At least Murphy got to sleep a little bit in New York and be on the Today Show. Bryce Terang, Yelich is at Raising Canes. All this stuff going on.
Crazy week. All right, we will get into some Buck stuff again. Comments are welcome. Link is available if anybody wants to join in as we do the Bucks post. This is for the sickos.
Okay, this is this is for especially the live viewers. This is this is for the sickos. But this is where the Winkler verse got its bread and butter. This is when we discovered kind of what the Winkler verse was going to be with all these buck shows.
So let me tell you just some thoughts on the team. I love that Burry started. I think that's got to be the point. I don't care that he was four for fifteen. I don't care that he was chucking up shots.
I'd I'd love for him to chuck up shots. I'd love to him for him to make some of these shots. One for seven from three, but he needs to he needs to get out there. He needs to get control of this offense because it's going to be his offense. A lot of you guys in the comments already upset about Ryan Rollins, and and essentially he got benched.

That's about it. That's what it felt like." And Taylor Jenkins is good, and he's going to coach well. And this is just far from the team. I mean, this is like 2015 Brewers. This is not a good basketball team.
I don't know what I was thinking. I I love our teams. You know, I've got confidence in our teams. I want something fun. Excited for the NBA Cup games.
No, when is our first one? Is the Celtics one? I, I'll just say this: what I say about the NBA Cup all the time. They have different divisions for the NBA Cup than the real divisions. It's too complicated.
We don't even know our real divisions now, and now you are throwing out different group play. It it would be very easy. I don't I don't understand who thought this idea up. Because at some point they would have said, "Well, why don't we just have it to be the divisions?" Oh, we can't do that. Why not?
Just do it. At least at least it's more tangible. I don't know in our division, and the divisions change every year. The group we're in. I'm sorry, group that we're in.
Now, if we win our first game, I mean that would be fun to win an NBA Cup again. That banner still is up there. That's part. It's part of what makes Milwaukee Title Town. I mean, did did we not win that title?
That's three titles in five years. Two Bucks, one Brewers.
So, Tony says Kuzma sucks. Garrett wants to trade for Giannis at the deadline. Jake says, "On the bright side, we're going to give a top five pick over to New Orleans, and we don't have a pick, and so so we're not. It's it's just like the Packers too. It's like we're tanking and just giving away." Um.
Our picks. Not that the Packers are tanking, but they don't have a pick. I'll get into the Packers in a minute. I'm not in love with this Josh Jacobs situation. I'm also not in love that I the the Packer fans are like the ones that have to answer for it.
Um. Tom says my ancestors left Europe so our sports leagues won mid season tournaments. The mid season tournaments are fine. It's just you can't do them within the league. That's the big problem.
All these soccer leagues have mid-season tournaments with other leagues, whether it's all the levels of soccer in one country or the whole continent. You can't just so stupid. But we won one. We won one.
So Burry's got to start tonight. Hero. This is what you're going to get out of him. Complimentary. Turner, this is probably a better night than he's going to have most nights.
I'm I don't need him out there anymore. Even when he does well, I just I I don't know. Hockeys I like, Kuzma obviously we all like hate. Green was pretty automatic for a stretch with threes, but I'm not even in love with Green. Rollins, I really feel like Rollins was.
I say this all the time, but I feel like Rollins was ascending. And then Giannis came back, and Rollins didn't know what to do. And ever since then, he's just been confused about how to play basketball. I feel like Giannis broke Ryan Rollins. I blame Giannis.
Drew B is in the house. What's up, Drew B? Good evening. How are you? Oh, you got the championship shirt.
I see. Yeah, I got a hat too. I actually drove to Milwaukee for the parade from Indianapolis. One day trip. Oh, I didn't know you were in Indy.
Yeah, I live in Indianapolis, so deal with the Pacers fans a lot. It's always brutal. Were you good with your parade eyesight, eye line, with your view, with your vision, with your spot? Yeah, it was great. I woke up pretty early here, like around like three fifty, and made the drive.
Dealt with like the shuttle disaster from you into the park. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and. Um. Yeah, it was great. I mean, do you know what I did for parking?
What did you do for parking? I parked in a lot before I knew what the price was. Oh, yikes! How much was that? How much is too much?
I don't know. For the parade to get a good spot, I would say. I paid eighty dollars. Yeah, I was gonna say a hundred is probably too much, but at least I mean you got a spot because, like, I I mean I saw like how like just like it was just I don't think it was planned out very well, but I don't think they were I don't know why they weren't expecting that many people to show up, but it was great. I mean, even I got a good vantage point.
We had two kids with us to justify. Yeah, that's fair. I mean, yeah, I don't. I mean, can you put a price on the Milwaukee Brewers World Series parade? I don't think you can.
No, but you know, just being in the city because I haven't been in Milwaukee for like it's been about five years since I was in the city.
So just to feel like the energy and the aura, just walking down Wisconsin Avenue after the parade, and you know, just taking in the city was just like really invigorating. It's I love my country of Milwaukee. It's the best city in the world. Despite all that, watch a little bit of the Bucks tonight. I know this is the Bucks post game, so I'll talk little Bucks.
I the Bucks, it is. We will talk Bucks on these post games. I but this is this is a very soft Bucks post game for sure, for sure. You know, I'm kind of just looking forward to February to see who's still on the team by then. I think they will have some draft.
Hopefully, they'll have a draft pick. Going into here, I know they don't have one, but I mean Turner will be traded, Kuzma will be traded. I mean, AJ. I mean, really, the only people that probably keep is Burris. I mean, probably Ware and all the Heat guys.
I think they're okay. I think they're going to extend Harrell actually, just because the Hallies embrace the city. And I mean, what what free agent are they going to attract? Who can average twenty five and five? As inefficient as it can be, or how bad the defense can be, when he's not on the floor, no one can score on that team.
Burris will get there eventually, but these last couple losses, when Harrow's on the bench, is when these teams go on these huge runs. Like they play close, Harrow goes on the bench. He has no one who can score, and it's like a twenty thirty point deficit. But the thing with Giannis was he's always talking about championships, championships, championships. What does Hero want?
Does he want a championship? Is he like, all right, I play with the Heat, we got to a final, whatever? I honestly think he's. I mean, again, this is like just like from like interviews and post game stuff. But I think he's really embraced, you know.
Playing in his home state, in his home city, how long will that feeling last? Who knows? But I mean, at least from all optics, it looks like he enjoys being the guy in Milwaukee where he grew up playing basketball. Will it lead to Bucks being good? Who knows?
I think Burris is that guy, and then those future Miami Heat picks, whatever they turn into. But I don't. I don't think you're going to win that bet.
Well, let's wait till after Christmas. I think what's going to happen is they're going to lose a shitload now. They have a tough schedule. Yeah, there'll be a there'll be a couple stretches before the trade deadline where they win like four in a row. I mean, what's is the over under twenty six?
It was twenty five and a half.
Okay, yeah, see me twenty. I think I get. I mean, but I win thirty.
Okay, but I mean, that's still losing fifty two games.
So, I mean, they're still gonna lose a lot, and you could still win your bet, I guess. I still think Jenkins is kind of figuring out what he wants his rotation to be as well. Too, he's just trying out a bunch of guys. They're running like ten, twelve deep every night, but yeah. The Josh Jacobs stuff—I know we don't really give that—that's that's despicable.
Matt Lafleur with terrible comments again today. I just think, you know, he is a guy who has no conviction, so of course he would leave it up to the NFL to make the decision on Josh Jacobs, which is frustrating. But we have the Brewers. It's really like. I listened to your episode of Carlos earlier today, and you asked him like, "How long does this feeling last?" Baby, it's gonna last forever.
Like, there's nothing, there's nothing in in Wisconsin sports that could get me down for the next six to eighteen months. I feel like it's it is different, and I, you know, Carlos was explaining that like, you know, with the Cubs, you want another one, and I, even with the Bucks, we're like, okay, Giannis, go get another one. I, I just I I feel like nobody thought this was ever going to happen. No, like every every everyone about the Brewers feels the same, is what I'm taking from the last month. We have different feelings about the Bucks.
We have different feelings about the Packers. The Brewers are just the thing that we love. That's there. Baseball, we can hope and dream, but it will never actually happen to us. And if it ever did, we all when Eucher passed away, we all said the same.
Everyone had the same memories. When they when they won, we thought we never. I mean, everybody, everybody saved up their money. Everybody, if they didn't save up their money, max their credit cards. Like we all did.
We all lived like we were dying. Nobody was like, I'll get the next one. Or this isn't important to me. Everybody, everybody feels the same way about the Brewers.
So I do think that the first 44 years of my life, 42 years of my life, we're waiting to get one, and the next 42 years of my life are going to be enjoying the one we got. If we never win another World Series, I mean, now we're gonna watch like okay, they give the offer to Bowers, and they're gonna do the option with Contreras, and we'll see what happens with McGill.
So, okay, it's a new season. What are we gonna put out there in 2027 for how much of it is, but? If if they like if they like lose Game Six to the Dodgers, I'm gonna be like, dang, we didn't do it this year. Remember when we did? Yeah, I don't I don't know.
That might be we're still in like post nut clarity of a World Series, so I don't know. I don't know what I'm gonna feel like later, but man, I I feel like with the Brewers versus like. The Bucks title and the Packers title from from recent. Is I think like the way the media talks about the Brewers, the national media is different too. Because even though the Bucks won with Giannis, they there was still that ticking clock of him wanting to leave.
And then they were talking like dynasty and MVP with like Rogers. The national media treats us like we're that kid that was the manager all year and then came in and made ten threes or whatever the right, yeah, one time. Like they can't believe that it happened either.
So like I think that. Helps too. Like there's, and they know it never will again. They're not. There's not that many expectations.
Who even knows? There'll still be those. I mean, Zips projections will come out, and they'll probably still project the Brewers to win 86 games next year. And that's just kind of how I like it. But it's just you're right.
I never thought it would happen. We're roughly the same age. Yeah, two thousand and eight was the first. I was in college when that happened in oh eight. The Sabathia trade up was like the biggest Brewers moment of my life up until you know.
So it's it's like the shared live experience. Baseball, being a baseball fan, is such. It's like a more Intimate fan experience than any other major sport, because you follow this team every single day from February to at least September or October, and no other sports like that. Like, and I think that's why this means so much to everybody is because you you start in spring training in February. Who's going to make the team?
Who's going to be the forty? Oh, who's is this guy going to break out? How are these prospects? We got to see the prospects that we've been promised like show up and lead us to a World Series. And yeah, it's just different, and I think it's just because baseball is such a like an intimate fan experience because of how much you put into it every single day, whether it's passive or you're up in the front of it.
It's it's just there every for you know 180 190 days of the year versus the other like major sports. I feel like Flat Smack 420 doesn't agree with us. He says I feel like the Brewers owe me two more championships. Let's get a threepeat, and and we're all good. But no, I like everything you said there about the Bucks, real quick, Drew.
So, how are you going to watch? Like, we're not watching every night. We are; it's on. What's because I am still trying to figure that out too. I I'll watch the games during the week for sure.
If I am going to do shows after, but when's the next game? Friday night? I am probably not going to watch Sunday. I mean, maybe we'll look at it, but Sunday night football. I don't.
I mean, I for right now, I I box score watch a little bit. I do have league pass because I like to watch other games too. But yeah, I mean, either either tonight I was just like, wow. Like a week ago, I was like sweating bullets over the Brewers. Like now, like there's nothing.
There's nothing stressful. Like there's nothing stressing me out sports wise. It's crazy how that was such a month. And then it just ended, right? And yeah, I mean, I mean the Bucks are bad, and that's okay.
I I mean, I follow them. I I at least box score watch, and I'll turn it on every now and then when it's close, or you know, if Burries is in, I want to watch them play. I like watching you know Nate Iment play. I thought he had some promising minutes the last couple of games. Um, but really, it's just coming down to like I said, I think.
I'll be a little more interested to see what they look like in February. Just like what the turnover, like see what kind of picks they get, or like what they do with this roster that's still kind of like Jenkins and the front office is still trying to figure out.
So probably be a lot of passive engagement. Very very. Interested though in buries and immense developments. First time we've had this in a while, really since like the first couple Giannis and Jabari years to be like so focused on two young guys progressing on this team. Um, we'll be curious to see what happens with Ryan Rollins.
I mean, there is a lot of promise there. I I could see them trading him as well, especially if a team wants like a defensive first type of point guard who can score, they could get some draft value out of that because clearly he's not going to be the point guard of the future. I don't think he ever was going to be. They could have probably sold high on him this off season, but they probably didn't want to start with Burry starting off right away. It'll be interesting, but it sucks that we still have Kuzma, but he's on an expiring.
You're not just gonna cut him, no. The other thing that I would that I would that I would tweak is why aren't they paying or playing Gary Trent? If you're so, they they might just like not give up. Like the whole league wants you to burn for something that you're already being punished for, right? You're paying Gary Trent.
I was just like. I was kind of like really kind of hoping they could have pulled off that that Durant trade from Detroit, just because the I think NBA is going to nuke those Miami picks, so we might as well just traded them and get like Jalen Durant for them or something. Because I I think I think Silver is just looking for any excuse to just put a hammer on Milwaukee, even though the Gary Junior contract just hurts the Bucks anyways because. Yeah, I don't know. We did, we traded Giannis.
We did what they want, but we didn't, we didn't do it soon enough. I guess. I, I don't. The Trent thing's interesting. Either they think nothing's going to come out of this investigation, so they have nothing to worry about, or, yeah.
It's insane that you know they're spending what he's making what seventeen million dollars. Or they're being like, "Come, come, do it then. If you're gonna do it, do it. We're not playing them. We're not playing them.
Do it. If you you want to fuck with us, do it. Yeah, we're not playing. We paid this guy sixty million a year. We're not playing them.
What are you gonna do about it? We're trying to call their bluff. I forgot Gary Trent Jr. was even on the team until you just mentioned him like five minutes ago. Anyways, that's that's.
I forgot he was too until I re looked at the box score and saw Gary Trent Jr. on the bottom. Another DNP coach's decision. Another. Yeah.
But yeah, I just wanted to jump in. I know I had a feeling the. Maybe that people are all like champing at the bit for a Bucks post game, so I wanted to jump in just, just talk shop with you.
Well, and anyone could do that any time, and I appreciate you doing that. We again, these are you're not going to get a lot of Bucks breakdown wherever you look, so we'll do our part, but we're not doing an hour and a half on Bucks every night. No. Anyways, go Brewers. Have a great rest of your evening, Bart.
Catch on the flip side. Hey Drew, that's Drew B down in in D, and you can always join whenever you want. I throw the link out in the Facebook and YouTube comments.
So if you're on Twitter, I might make you do a little work. If it were my friend, I know exactly what I'd say. Call your doctor. Ask about lung cancer screening. He said, "Yeah, but I smoked." I tell him, "That doesn't mean you shouldn't know what's going on with your health." Funny how much easier it is to say that to someone else.
Give yourself the same advice. Finding lung cancer early can significantly increase your chance of survival. If you're 50 or older with a history of smoking, ask your doctor about lung cancer screening. Learn more at go. lilly.
com/siriusxm. Although it is to the point where I might even start calling it X. I mean, it's that's what it's called. That's what it says. I just can't.
I don't. It's not about Elon. I don't. I'm not not calling it X because of Elon.
Well, kind of, because he's he's always had a sexual fetish with the letter X. Whenever these people do something weird, Bears interception. It's it's a sexual thing. There's something sexual about it. I don't know what it is, because he wanted he had PayPal and he wanted it to be called X, and now it's X money and X marks the spot and fucking whatever.
I don't like it. Speaking of X, I'm going to pull up what Drew had referenced regarding Matt Lafleur. I just want to hear his comments. I don't love so. I don't know what's happened with this Josh Jacobs thing.
I don't know. I I have not read all of the details, and they put out a statement again today. I've not read that either. The other night was it Saturday night or Sunday night? Saturday night.
There was a report from other women didn't look good, and it's a lot of he said she said that's that's going on, and. I think the thing that's upsetting me about the situation is, well, there's two things. One is that the Green Bay Packers are our favorite football team, and they are choosing to employ Josh Jacobs. And while they employ him, we have to answer for it as fans, or at least we're being we're being told to answer. And I know it's all hearsay on X.
But I I don't I don't have anything to do with this. I can't control what's going on. Oh, you can kind of see the TV there. Oh, by the way, the USC Milwaukee score. We are now at twenty-seven to nine.
So I'm going to lose that five dollars too. It appears.
So we we don't know the whole story.
So here's Matt Lafleur. Talking today, after more allegations have come out against Josh Jacobs. Start out just obviously we're aware of the prior allegations on Josh, and we're going to allow the NFL to do its process. But I would anticipate him being a member of us moving forward. That's really all I have to speak.
Incoherent, not confident. Choking up, even he's going to be a member of us. That's not how you say it, Matt.
So the the read I'm getting off of this from Matt Lafleur is Matt does not like what happened. Whatever, maybe he knows more than us. I don't know. But Matt Matt does not like what happened.
Okay, but Matt needs Josh Jacobs on his football team. Matt Matt Lafleur wants Josh Jacobs on his football team, and so does Brian Gudikson, for that matter.
So when Lafleur is going to get up there, I guess I wish he would either say, "Look." This is a this is a matter that's being. I I want him to be more confident either way. At least fake fake it. Get up there. What do you want Lafleur to say?
I'll tell you. I want Matt Lafleur to say this. He gets two options. He can say, "Look, guys, I don't know what's going on. These are complicated issues.
We don't condone physical violence. We're not the kind of team. We have to let this play out." If it if it if it comes where the facts are unavoidable, but until then, we're going to let the system play out, and we're not going to get rid of a guy until we know what the facts are. Is he going to be right or wrong? No, but at least that's like okay.
I mean, I understand it. Like you get where he's coming from. You're trying to do right by the guy, and maybe maybe I don't know. I don't know the story. Or the other thing you could say is, I don't want to deal with this.
Or there's smoke, there's fire. Where the Green Bay Packers, Josh Jacobs is not good enough for us to deal with this, and no one is, quite frankly. And Josh Jacobs actually isn't. He averaged 1.9 yards a carry the other night. But Matt Lafleur seems to think that they need Josh Jacobs more than Caleb Johnson or Pierre Strong or Marshawn Lloyd, and it's clear that Matt is trying to put his head in the sand, hoping that this goes away, and will forget about it afterwards.
It's just more of what I don't like about Lafleur. There's no conviction. It's the same. He's talking about he's talking about this very serious matter, like he's talking about cutting a kicker or his calls on third and short. Just lack of confidence, almost confused about where he is, what his role is, what he's supposed to do.
And I'm sure there's guys on the team that have come to him or that they're talking like. Yeah, I'm sure people are hearing from their wives and girlfriends, like, "What is going on here? What's what's up? Why is Matt Lafleur defending him?" We're not a Josh Jacobs away from the Super Bowl, so why do we need to die on the hill of Josh Jacobs? And why do we, as Packer fans, need to need to be the one to answer for all of this?
Matt Lafleur can't do it, so I get. But we haven't heard from policy or Gooch either, so they're just kind of throwing him out there. And Ted used to do that to McCarthy all the time.
So I don't know. I don't. This this whole year, this has not been a good Gooch year, and it's certainly not been a good Lafleur tenure. Packers at the Patriots. This weekend, the Bears just scored again, so they're they're really taking it to Seattle.
And with this win, like you really could have all of the NFC North teams in the playoffs at this point. You really could have all the NFC North teams in the playoffs. The teams that are Competing, so the Bears are going to be six and two, Lions five and two, Vikings six and one, and we're five and three. The East is not going to get a wild card team in. The South is not going to get a wild card team in.
So basically, we're going to be left fighting between the four and four Seahawks and the four and four Rams. And I think the Rams are not good, and I think the Seahawks are, but maybe not. Super Bowl hangover, I guess. Thirty-four seventeen, Chicago. We'll wrap things up soon.
First, it's hot take Jake in his bathroom. Is that your bathroom? No, it's not. But that's everyone thinks that's your shower. That's why Buckshot Bobby really wishes it was.
Yeah, you brought up Lafleur, and I kind of commented on it. The guy he already has a shotty ass reputation here, and it's just funny to me that he really thinks of himself as this hard ass disciplinarian. And the two examples I bring up are Romeo Dobbs pouts a little bit about getting some. Not enough targets, so he gets benched, and then he doesn't like Jair's personality and the way Jair handles himself.
So they have a little bit of a standoff, and that's you know obviously he's got to step in and take control of the team. But this is okay, you know that this is fine, and he just the guy doubles down on it. Like he looked like a dad with his son the other day, giving him the big hug after the touchdown, and it's like this is just gross. This is not. The Packers football that I know now.
Don't get me wrong. I think the whole Packer people thing was. Pretty played out and you know kind of lame, but I do think that you need to have a better set of standards. And it's it's gross to watch. I want him gone.
I want Jacobs gone. I don't want either those guys associated with. Even the touchdown celebration, like we thought it was handcuffs, and then he said it was breaking the chains, which is fine, fine. If that's your celebration, fine.
However. No, not not not. If if you if you do something that we can say, oh my God, it's that, and then your explanation is like it's that. You got to know that when you're doing that, it's going to look like that. Yeah, I mean it.
It's no different than John Morant after he you know had the issue with. Putting his, you know, having to pull his Glock out on Instagram, and then doing the the the finger guns and Gilbert Arenas, like you're you're so stupid. You have an opportunity to have generational wealth, and you get to play a game to do it. And all you have to do is not be an idiot, and you can have that. And these these guys just can't help themselves.
It's this weird egotistical trip that they have. It's like when your boss tells you to stop making fun of the midday guy, and then you do twenty minutes on him to open the show the next morning and get the call into the studio that you better go to commercial break or you're going to lose your job right the fuck now. Ah, what are you going to do? Oh, that's on tomorrow night. I thought that was on tonight for a second.
I got to watch that tomorrow. Yeah, I mean, but you know, whoever did that, they're probably serving the people, so I think it's kind of cool. What do you think about this Bears win? Um, I mean, Darnold is really, really bad. I don't understand how on earth he has a Super Bowl win.
But I mean, the NFL is just bad right now. It's I noted before. I'm I'm watching a little bit of the game, and it really feels like this is a Bears home game. And Seattle's gimmick is that they have the 12th man.
So I guess, but a lot of just Pittsburgh took over Tampa. Packer fans travel. I think. I think NFL fans are tired of going to their own stadiums. Yeah, and it's just it's too big.
I'm not saying I'm relishing in the NFL like getting worse and worse, but like I don't know. Every empire thinks they're too big to fail, and I thought you guys made a great point on the national perspective today, where obviously the saturation of the market is just too much. You know, but I think their goal is ultimately like let's, as you said, let's let's get a game every day of the week, and that that would be horrific. How do you think of the Bucks? I watched the game.
I mean, you have a team full of individuals with no goal. It seems like they don't have a system. You have some guys on contract years that are trying to put up big numbers. There was a stretch in the second quarter where I think they shot fifteen threes in a row. Probably not, but that's what it felt like.
Yeah, and that's also partially just the NBA, like the NFL. The product is getting worse and worse. Analytics, you know, as you know, smart as they may be, they have ruined the game to a degree where they figured out a three is worth more than a two, even when you're missing a bunch of them.
So that's kind of lame. The team itself, I mean, there's nothing really to be excited about. I know people want to talk up Burris and he's young, but I mean, trying to take off the Bucks colored glasses here and.
So far, from what I've seen him play, I just see a guy that shoots a lot and kind of reminds me of a young Monte Ellis.
So I, okay, if that's what we have to look forward to, I'm not saying he's a bad prospect, but if that's like you think that's the cornerstone of your team, you're you're not going very far with that. I like I still like what I'm seeing from Kalel Ware. He needs to get more minutes.
So again, moving Turner has got to be a priority because it's just blocking him. He needs to be getting consistently thirty minutes a night. Hero looked pretty bad tonight. I know he's not been as bad as I thought he would be, but I also just think he plays a style of basketball that does not affect winning. Certainly, even when he's on, I don't necessarily think that that's that's a winning brand.
Panthers are within sixteen. It's now thirty nine twenty three. There we go. Two minutes left in the first half. It's on Big Ten Plus for those of you that are.
Cause they're playing Panthers. Are they still the Panthers? Milwaukee Panthers. Yeah, yeah. That's who you're talking about, right?
Yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Totally. Oh, so I'm gonna remake this.
What is that? This is my 1987 Brewers thing. Oh yeah, get that shit off of there, man. No, no, I'm keeping this. But I, I ordered the SI cover, the journal print, and I'll put new cards.
But and then I'll put it over here. And of course, I got Drew Rasmussen on the. What do we call that? The shame frame? Oh yeah, yeah.
You got him on the cleanup towel there. Yeah. Ah, so I actually, when I was in Florida a couple weeks ago, we were at this pretty cool aquarium, and they had like a a charity table of stuff you could bid on. And there was a plaque with a shot from the movie Happy Gilmore, signed by Shooter McGavin himself, Christopher McDonald. Nobody bid on it, so I put the opening bid, and I ended up winning with the opening bid.
So it's like, yeah.
Well, now I got to ask you how much it was. One hundred and fifty bucks. But it went to charity, and it's and it's nice. It looks very very nice. It was well done.
Nobody bid on that. No, I'm like the dude's the greatest villain in the history of freaking movies. You need to. We did some like radio things in the past where we would get nice like donations. You got to find small town radio silent auctions because you can go in there and just rake.
I was gonna say, if there's nobody there to like, you know, if a tree falls in the woods, if you know, if there's no one there to make the bids, somehow I went to the Lombardi dinner once. You know this Lombardi dinner? Sure, sure. This charity dinner. You're an award winning journalist, buddy.
So, oh, I got there through my wife's work, actually. And that's when I randomly sat next to Wayne Laravie. And Bob from Bob and Brian, or Brian from Bob and Brian, and I didn't know who it was at all. Did they big time you?
Well, no, we were talking, and then the guy, the girl is girlfriend, or was like, "Hey, you don't know Bob and Brian?" I'm like, "Oh yeah, I do know the show. I didn't know that was him. I don't know." Yeah, and then Wayne and I were talking, and then I don't know. Did you so in those small town radio auctions? Did you ever like you know anything ever fall off the truck and it ended up in the Winkler basement?
Are you asking me if I stole from my radio station? I'm not asking you that. I'm that's not specifically what I asked you. You know, things get left behind. I only, I only stole one time.
Do tell. This is this is like a classic Winkler verse episode.
Now, now we're getting into it.
Okay, so there was we did this like concert show, and the trade was we. Promote the show with ads and graphics and all this stuff, and then you pay us a portion of the gate.
So they didn't buy ads per se, but we took a portion of the gate. The show was not well attended. The money that the station got was not worth the squeeze, so I just they gave it to me that night, and I just said, "I am just gonna keep this." I think it was, I think it was maybe one hundred fifty dollars. Maybe I cover your scooter, scooter thing. Oh, bargo!
That's awesome.
So when I worked for the Brewers, oh, after after COVID, this isn't really stealing, but when Horvat and I were in the station after COVID or during COVID, when nobody was in there, and when I went back, yeah, yeah, we just went around the building and took like every anything we could, like cleaning supplies, toilet paper, yeah, bobbleheads. We just took it all. That was all going to end up in a dumpster, anyways. Yeah, so we just took it.
So when I worked for the Brewers, I worked in the visiting clubhouse, and when you're a clubby, sometimes you have to be the bat boy for the visiting team, which I did many times. And you know, they would travel that like they had a bag just for the bat boy stuff. You know, for like the uniforms, the communal uniforms that you have to wash everything, and authentic uniforms. You know, and sometimes maybe one got left behind from certain teams and that, and you know. It's a shame.
Nobody's perfect. You got one on you right now? Uh, well, funny enough.
So I have an authentic roadie Chicago Cubs jersey, and I would wear it two games at Wrigley because I had it customized and I had stitched letters and numbers put on.
So I put for the number o three and for the name Bartman.
So like. Cubs fans would be like, "Yeah, go Cubbies," and I would just like to turn around and like point at it, and then I get "fuck you" and you know, middle fingers and all that.
So, yeah, I was a shit stirrer. What they believe, yeah, believe it or not, was yeah. Anything else? I'm gonna probably get hemped up and go to bed. Watching just that, I miss the Brewers.
I miss baseball. Jake Powers' qualifying offer—that was a little surprising. Oh, we got lip service to that earlier. Yeah, we'll talk more about that. I'm sure on the return of can't wait conspicuously absent during the entire World Series run.
Yeah, flagship show is—is that going to be addressed? I think so. Are we going to have a new cast member? Like, is there going to be a new Paul? I—I don't think so.
I don't know. I don't know. I can't wait. You got Punk winning the NXT title on Wednesday. I don't.
Okay. Fucking Wallers. I hate them. Don't give me start on wrestling right now. I want to be done.
So he's a good heel, okay? No, he's not a good heel. All right. All right, Jake. Good to see you.
Love you. Kisses. Bartman, oh three. I could say my name is Bart. Bartman, Steve Bartman.
All right, so the Bears won that. No, whatever. I don't. I don't really care. I.
I like. I don't. I don't even really care that the Bears won. I'm not even like. I can't do anything about it.
Do you guys want an election night podcast? No. All right. Um, we'll be back with this on Wednesday. I will have tomorrow, and I I do appreciate you guys.
You know that this run's been fun. There's been some new voices that have come in. There's been some new audience that have come in. I think we'll keep a lot of them through our Brewer stuff and and our Packer post games for sure. But I do feel like this is this is like this is the Winkler verse for better for worse.
Bucks post games. That's that's our flagship show right here, the Winkler verse. We'll see. And thanks for stopping into the Winkler verse.
