A matter of fact, in 20 minutes from now, We're going to have a conversation with someone who covers the chargers. You can catch her on the sidelines for the Chargers radio network. You can catch her on the Gary and Shannon show. Out in California, we're going to be joined by Shannon Tharon. to talk about all things charges.
Are they real? Or are they just gonna, you know, go through the season? In choke. Talk some college football. Dabo Sweeney firing at his critics.
You think I suck? Then uh. Hey, let him find me. I'm gonna go find a new job tomorrow. Shut up, Dabo Sweeney.
Relax. Take it easy. Ain't nobody with half a brain serious about you getting fired, so just relax. The Bengals added two quarterbacks today. Yeah, none of them are exciting.
Sorry about that. Mike White and Sean Clifford. And when's the last time you saw these two guys play? In college? Maybe.
Probably, possibly. And we're going to show some love to Baker Mayfield. We'll get into some of these 0-2 teams and whether or not they still got life. Hello to you, Kansas City Chiefs.
Next out we'll talk about Tom Brady. People are complaining about him just I don't know, being an owner, being a broadcaster, being a coach maybe. We'll see. People are still complaining about the tush push.
So we got a lot to do as the show continues on. You want to be a part of the show? You can. 888. 710-4ISN is the number.

You got a smart speaker, ask it to play. The infinity Sports. Network There's so much to do. We'll get into Baker Mayfield and There's just a lot to do. We're busy here.
which is a fun thing. This is a great time of the sporting calendar. Look at this way. You're gonna blink? We're gonna be at the will be in the Major League Baseball playoffs.
Going to have the NHL and the NBA starting up. NFL is now in full swing. For anyone interested. Maybe for gambling purposes, maybe, I guess, I don't know. We got the WNBA playoffs that are going on right now.
Yeah, things are going good. Hey, Bacha, this is like uh the holidays for a sports fan, right? Uh yeah, it's as good as it can be. Just wait till hockey starts up too.
So they have all was it four sports then? NBA two? All of the things, yeah. Are we missing anything? Missing a sport?
Golf Golf NASCAR Championships is going on soon. There's probably F1 somewhere else. F1. Yeah, F1 has a they take a short break and they just keep on going. They're all over the world.
Yeah, F one. Yeah, I mean, the way Saudi Arabia is investing in all these sports, who knows? We may have uh The sports year round if they pay all the guys. What a world What a world eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. Right before we went to break, and shout outs to John for calling up from Indianapolis.
He's just like damn it, this guy Arch Manning. He skipped the line, He thinks that he's he's overhyped. That he is where he is Because of his last name. And yet, sure, things haven't looked good here. For Arch Manning.
He's at a crap time. And you think about even the victory, if I want to call it a victory. Over UTAP, At one point in time, the man missed. Ten straight throws. He threw one touch down and one interception.
The only game that Arch looked good in, he's supposed to look good in, it was against San Diego State. He looked real bad. We know he looked real bad against the Ohio State University. Can we be surprised? That's one of the best teams in the damn country.
And next up is Sam Houston. Can we ring the alarm bells if he looks like garbage? Against them. I think that'd be a little bit more reasonable. I'm not prepared to ring the alarm bells.
I'm solely not prepared to say. That he skipped the line. He's only where he is because of his name. That's garbage. He's no backup.
He's a starter. You at least turned that part. Come on now Someone who skipped the line. Because of his last name is Bronnie James, okay? It's a put Arch Manning in that same type of space.
It's not fair. You know, somebody like Bronnie James. He was a McDonald's All American. He was highly recruited. Bronnie James got to school.
Unfortunately, the guy Had a heart issue. And his season was wiped out.
Okay, his dad putting him on the team because he was and still is LeBron James. That's skipping a line. And God bless them. We got people who are doing that every day with their damn kids.
Okay, if you can do it, then go out there and do it. Why the hell not? Arch Manning didn't get the job because Peyton picked up the phone. Archman Inc. didn't get the job because Eli picked up the phone.
I don't see Tennessee here. I don't see Ole Miss here. I don't know if Cooper got the juice. I don't know if Archie got the juice. This guy was highly recruited.
And then to think about where he came out of high school. You know, John had brought up the point about: oh, you know, the school and level of competition. Eli went to that school.
Okay. Odell Beckham Jr. went to that school. Peyton Manning went to that school.
Okay, the guy was uh One of these max preps freshmen of the year. Like what? Can we just wait before we call him ass? He's played like ass, he has. I think anybody with two eyes can admit that.
But to start throwing around, oh, he's only this because of his name.
So so what happens in another Month. And he flips the switch. What happens if he takes on the sooners and he has a good game? What is his name good or bad at that point? Because I would think when it comes to actually playing the position, Something that his family has done for generations now.
I would utilize and see that as a benefit. I don't think he just got here. Because of his last name. Has it helped? Of course it has.
But also think sitting around talking to his damn uncles and his grandpa. has helped a lot too. And so just to go Arch is here because of his last name is holy. Unfair Come on now. Arch was asked about this.
Are you hurt? That was a thing a couple of weeks ago. Arch is wincing after these throws. Maybe the throws are ugly. Maybe I'm wincing because I'm making ugly ass passes.
This is what Arch had to say about whether or not he's hurting. Or his just uh He got the yips. His his brain is starting to listen. Probably mental, to be honest. Like, I think I just need to go out there and play my game.
I know the type of athlete and type of player I am. Just go cut it loose and. Have some fun. Play ball. Yeah just have some fun.
Like when a guy makes some of these throws, you go, oh, damn, that's amazing. And then he has some other throws where he goes, Where you throwing that ball? It's natural. Let Archman and Grover guys played Three Games. Three games.
He said coach. Steve Sarkeesian. He talked about Arch and he said, You know what, the fact that he stinks right now It's probably actually good for him. I think some of this is really good. You know, here's a guy who's had.
An awesome life. The way he's grown up, where he played, the school he went to, the people he's been surrounded by. But I think you learn a lot about yourself through adversity and overcoming adversity and getting on the other side of adversity. And so to have some of this adversity that he has right now and when he gets on the other side of it, I think all of this is going to serve not only well for him, but well for us as a team. That's a good point.
That's a very good point. What's the most difficult thing that Archer's had to do in his life? Everybody now, I don't care who you are, I don't care how much money you got, it serves you well. every now and then they get punched in the mouth. It builds up perseverance.
You know, I don't want to hang out with nobody who's never had to work for nothing in their life. I don't want to be around anybody. who doesn't know what a little bit of pain feels like, because I think it helps build you up. It gives you some calluses. It makes you work harder.
It makes you appreciate things. Come on now. It's been Three Games. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. Jalen is calling from Texas.
You're on the JR Sport Reshow. Go ahead, Jalen. Hey, they are you know. I'm terrific. What's up?
Hey, I'm I'm gonna lean in on uh that Texas talk 'cause uh I am I'm still optimistic about Arch, but at the same time, it's It's seeing him play against Ohio State, he had the jitters. He he was doing the best that he could to maintain that game, but at the same time, I'm I'm still seeing the little jitteries even when they were playing against San Jose State and And they started off, they didn't start off too well. But at the same time, I'm still being optimistic. I'm still you still even though it's been three games I'm still trying to see how we do in the conference. Because That's going to be a tough, tough conference.
SEC is no joke. I mean, you're out there in Atlanta. Them dogs, they went up against the balls, and that was a crazy game. That was a crazy ending. But if we go out there and we start having these bad starts, Up against Georgia and Athens, that's going to be tough.
That's going to be tough. Oh, without a shadow of a doubt. We know that's a beat-down city. Look, I don't look at Texas, and thank you so much, Jalen, for calling from Texas. I don't look at the longhorns and just go, oh my God, they're going to go out there and win a championship.
That's not my expectation. I think what a lot of people would have loved, and I would have loved this. is to go out and see Arch Manning. You know, be one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. Come on, before we even got to the start of the season.
They were conversations about him. Being a Heisman Award winner. Being drafted into the NFL next year. His grandpa opened up his mouth. Archie's just like, ah, nah, you know, typically in our family, you know, you got to.
You gotta finish up and stick around for about four years, so don't expect him. To come out next season.
Now, Will I say that Arch Manning Being in the Heisman conversation and all of this because of his last name, is there hype around that? Absolutely. But do I think he is currently where he is as a starter right now solely because of his last name? Held to the knob. I I I don't.
And you just heard Arch say, Hey, it's in between my ears, I I gotta do better. Charlie Ward actually tweeted At Arch. Charlie Ward, yeah, Heisman Award winner, a seminal.
Now coach himself, Charlie Ward, former New York Net point guard. Multi-athlete Charlie Ward basically said, Listen, Arch. You'll get past this. Said they used to boo me too. Come on now He says, I see a Heisman in your future.
That's what Charlie Ward had to say about how difficult it is. You know, when you're a quarterback, in between your ears, listen to what Charlie Ward said. You hear Those that aren't encourage you louder. Um in a lot of ways. Uh and so I I just think he has the right mindset.
You know. Going. When it comes to I gotta get better, you know, just that alone kind of helps him understand and know that he's not playing up to his potential. uh or his expectations And he has to continue to put in the work. Yeah.
Three games. And right now, his first three games, he sucks. Completing 55% of his passes. This Fifteenth in the SEC. Horrific.
He's only passed for 579 yards. That's 13th in the SEC. Horrific. Less than seven yards an attempt Thirteenth, that's horrific. Your archmitting hasn't looked good, but I I'm not gonna Throw the guy out.
I think if anybody was gonna look this bad, You know one thing I would want? I would want for him to have the last name. Manning. I would. Because you don't think that he's able to continue to learn something.
We'll find out soon enough whether or not he's hot trash. But as it stands right now, It's too soon, Nicole. And it is certainly Certainly not fair. To say that he is the starting quarterback at Texas, that he got this job. Just Because of his last name.
They didn't pluck him out of the stands and just go, hey, let's. Let's give this kid a a make a wish opportunity. That ain't fair. It's not. Let's see what he does.
Maybe he'll stink the rest of the way. Maybe he won't. Can he really be this bad? I I don't think so. We'll find out.
That's the good part about watching. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast. On the Infiniti Sports Network. We're going to take a break. When we come back, And we're going to have a conversation about a quarterback.

It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast. on the infinity is sports Network. Man, the Chargers have started the season two and O. The Kansas City Chiefs are owing two, Now the charges have dealt with some injuries. I mean, before the season with Slater, Last night we saw a big injury.
We got Jim Harbaugh talking about Derwin James being the greatest safety ever. The charge is going to be interesting. But are they going to continue to win? Right now it's time to have that conversation with someone who knows him very well. You can catch her on the sidelines for the Chargers as their radio reporter.
You can also listen to her. On the Gary and Shannon Show on KFI AM in Southern California. Joining us right now is Shannon Farren. Shannon, I appreciate the time. How are you?
Of course, I'm doing great. Anytime the Chiefs are 0-2 and the Chargers are 2-0, and just kind of off a. A win there in Vegas beating the Raiders. It's a feel-good time here in Los Angeles, I'd say. No, I know a lot of people are happy.
Now, I love Justin Herbert. I love one of these guys. He's typically been a pocket passer, but when he needs to go out and run, he can go out there and get it. What is your first impression on how he's advanced as a quarterback over the years? We know in the playoffs he hasn't always looked that good, but he even seems to be taking another step, even though it's only been two games.
Well, you know, this rarely is a player not injured in the NFL, especially when you get to weeks four, five, six. Everyone's playing with something. And Justin Herbert has been playing with something for a lot of years. I mean, he has not had a completely healthy season. They're very secretive about it.
He's very secretive about it. But the difference right now is that Justin Herbert is 110% healthy and he has great protection. Like you mentioned. Awful injury that we had on that line. Rashawn Slater signed, the injury happened about 11 days after he signed a massive contract to protect Justin Herbert's blind side there.
And he goes out for the season. And everyone thought, oh no, here we go again with a lack of protection for Justin Herbert.
Well, Joe Alt just moved over to the left side where he happened to spend all his time at Notre Dame.
So it has been smooth as silk. Joe Alt has been playing damn near perfect games and kept Justin upright. And this is what a healthy Justin Herbert can do. There's another difference, and you saw the difference between night and day, essentially, between the way the season ended last year at Houston in that playoff game where the Texans were, you know, largely decried as the worst playoff team. LA went in as the favorite to Houston.
And what everyone forgot when they made the odds is that at that point in the season, Justin Herbert had no weapons left. It was a banged up wide receiver room. And all he had really was Lad McConkey.
Well, that day, Lad McConkie went on to break rookie records for playoff performances for a receiver. It wasn't enough. Justin had to do too much. He ended up throwing four picks in the game more than he had the entire season. But now this season, night and day, like I said, you've got a fully healthy wide receiver room.
You've got Keenan Allen back from Chicago from his one year away. And when you get like Justin Herbert enough weapons and he's spreading it around, you're going to see. Games like you saw in Brazil against Kansas City, where they passed 60% of the time. I don't know what the numbers were from last night, but I know it wasn't a run game that carried the Chargers over the Raiders. Absolutely.
Shannon Farron is joining us. You can catch her on the Chargers sideline as their radio reporter. I was going to get right into that. Typically, and even from when he got the job, there was so much emphasis on. On Jim Harbaugh and how he wants to ground and pound and he wants to run.
Well, they just drafted Omari Hampton, got him out of North Carolina. They got Najee Harris. Granted, he's coming off of that eye injury that was very secretive, but they haven't rushed the ball. Can we anticipate that eventually they start to pick that up? Or is this a different offense that we can expect to see with Harbaugh?
You and I both know we've watched enough football to know you don't go very far without a consistent run game. And it doesn't matter if the league is pass happy from year to year or what have you. You have to have a run game. To sustain your season and make it into the playoffs and make a deep run, you have to have a run game. They love Najee Harris and Omarian Hampton with a one-two punch.
No pun intended. Call it a bit of thunder and lightning. The two are both dual threats and they love this moving forward. We just haven't seen any of it. You know, last night and during that game, I think it's the second quarter, you know, I'm texting my husband, run the ball.
Why aren't they running the ball? You know what I mean? Because it's like. That's what you expect from a Greg Roman offense, from the offensive coordinator Greg Roman and Jim Harbaugh. They love the run.
And, you know, there they picked up Omar and Hampton at number 22 in the draft. And everyone's ready to just open up this gift week one, like it's Christmas morning. And what's the run game going to look like? Because that was something that lacked last year as well. Will it finally come to fruition under these guys?
And I think we'll see that. Omarian Hampton's going to break out and what he does. And you saw last night, like if you look at this guy's legs, you know he is built to withstand tackling. And that's what you saw in a couple runs last night. I mean, he evaded.
He was, they tried to bring him down three, four times on at least a couple nine, 11-yard runs that I can remember right now offhand. He's tough to bring down. And Najee Harris, he is another guy who he keeps those legs moving. And he made something out of nothing a couple times last night. They haven't committed to the run yet.
But again, it's early on. You're going to see a lot of phases of this game evolve and a lot of different game plans, I think, too. That's something that you can always. You can always count on with Greg Roman. He he can tend to surprise you from time to time.
Well, Shannon, I want to talk about the defense. We saw Khalil Mack's arm kind of get stuck in between two dudes, and now he's dealing with an elbow injury. We know Denzel Perryman, he's already on injured reserve. What's the latest, if anything, on Khalil Mack? And should there be concerns about their top defenders kind of dropping like flies here?
MZL's okay. I talked to him last night. He did not have to go on IR, but there's other spots the team needed depth in other than linebacker. He's going to be okay. Khalil Mack, it looks like a dislocated shoulder situation when we've seen similar injuries like this.
And I'm not privy to any internal information or medical information or anything like that. But just from what I've read around the league, it looks like it's an injury that he could play with in weeks to come with a brace in terms of the dislocated elbow.
So, so yeah, I mean, when you see Khalil Mack. Go down like that. And when he gets, he doesn't get injured.
So when he does, it's quite the blow and it's very dramatic. And Jim Harbaugh was beside himself yesterday on the sideline when Khalil Mack went straight to the injury tank because he's been playing long enough. He knows when something's wrong, like really wrong. And it was just a definite mood changer because Khalil Mack also plays really well against the Raiders. I mean, he has like 12 and a half sacks against them ever since he came over to the Chargers.
I think he plays more sacks against the Raiders than any other team, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe, maybe second most against any other team. But But yeah, there's definitely going to be some issues to address on the edge there. They do have some nice depth on that D line, but you can't replace Khalil Mack. You just can't.
And remember, Joey Bosa left on the other side of that line, our other edge guy, he left to Buffalo.
So definitely going to need some next guy up mentality there, at least in the coming few weeks. Yeah, I can't wait to see what Joey Bosa looks like in the snow. I hope he can stay healthy. I hope. Speaking of health, we heard this from Jim Harbaugh last night.
And it sounded like he was just processing it while he was saying it. He said that Derwin James is the. Best safety that he's ever seen in the NFL. And I had to go, what is he talking about? But, and God bless Derwin James.
He's someone over the course of his career. He's had to deal with plenty. of injuries but he is all over the field It's good to see him healthy, isn't it, Shannon? Jerwin James is the leader of this team. I mean, he's a four-time Pro Bowler.
He had a first-time all-pro nod in his rookie year. He arrived with an impact the same way he arrives to every collision on the field with an impact. When Jerwin James tackles someone, you can hear it. You can feel it. Look no further than that Travis Kelsey body slam from a year ago or two years ago.
I think everyone remembers that. They love playing a three-degree safety package. They love having that nickel-heavy package and having Derwin down close to. kind of scrimmage, kind of like a third linebacker almost. You can play that way and allow Derwin to do what he can do if you keep that safety room healthy.
Now, we had one safety, Elijah Molden, who was injured and out for the game.
So they brought Tony Jefferson, who is a veteran presence in the locker room. He was already scouting for another team. They brought him back out of retirement last year. And he is just such a gem of a guy and a player. And they plugged him in last night.
And Tony Jefferson came up huge. I mean, he had a pick. He fit in perfectly. But what Derwin James can do revolves around the health of that unit as well. In terms of the way that Jesse Minter likes to play him.
But my gosh, that Jesse Minter defense and Derwin James, it's a match made in heaven. and Shannon Farron is joining us. from Southern California, catch her on the sidelines for the Chargers radio network. Knowing what this offense is is capable of. Knowing that the defense can hold itself, it still needs some help in regards to getting to the quarterback.
They're 2-0 right now. What can we expect? What do you expect? the rest of the way from this team. I mean, I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of.
Injuries. It's all based on people staying healthy. You know, I'm just, I don't know about you, but at this point in the season, I'm kind of weak to week. You know, like, I've got to look at who we play this week. I know we've got the Broncos this week, but I just pulled up the schedule because, you know, you're traveling and every week is different.
But I mean, they should be able, seeing what I saw with the Broncos last season or last week, this last week, they should be able to beat the Broncos. Then they go to New York and they play the Giants. They should win there. They go to a hobble or the Commanders come here. Commanders now without Austin Eckler.
Quarterback trouble there. That should be a win. The Dolphins come here. That should be a win. The Colts, the Vikings.
I mean, I'm looking at this schedule. The Titans, the Steelers, the Jaguars. These are all hobbled teams already. These are all teams that I think the Chargers could win. The only losses that are glaring that I think could be potential losses is when the Eagles come.
Come for a night game, but it's in Los Angeles. And then you've got the Chiefs again, and then the Broncos again in Denver. But I mean, I see this team definitely making the playoffs and making a run for it. maybe going deep into the playoffs this year. And that's not me being biased.
That's just me Finally, taking a look at the schedule talking to you right now.
Well, Shannon, we talked a lot about what we see on the field with this team. But with the head coach. Jim Harbaugh is one of the more eccentric coaches that we've seen NFL College over the past several decades. What is it like? covering Jim Harbaugh.
You know, I, between you and me, I grew up a 49er fan.
So Jim Harp, a Bay Area person up in the San Francisco Bay Area.
So I knew when he was at Stanford. I was aware of it. He comes to the 49ers, gives that team new life, takes him to the NFC championship game, I think, three times in four years, takes him to the Super Bowl where he lost to his brother there in New Orleans against the Ravens. He is a culture changer. He did it with every program, whether it was San Diego or Stanford or the 49ers or Michigan and now the Chargers.
The way I've had it talked to me or explained to me is that there's no sit-down with anyone that comes to the Chargers. There's no sit-down when Jim Harbaugh comes to a team. It's just understood. The culture change is just understood. And everyone who's covered him and dealt with Jim Harbaugh, it's not a shtick.
This guy is 110% authentic. What you see is what you get. I mean, he is a different cat. And I think that players respond to that. Players like guys who are honest.
You can't BS a room full of guys who are putting their body and their lives on the line like this. You just can't. And he is. An honest person, you know exactly what you're getting with Jim Harbaugh. And yeah, he's at a left field.
You know, he's, he's quoting the black-eyed peas, you know, the entire song, I've Got a Feeling last year in front of this group of guys. Um, you know, he's uh, he's, he's quoting uh songs from the 70s to these guys. He, the last time we played in, in Vegas, he reached into his pants and he pulled a back scratcher out of his pants and he said to the guys, you know, you know, people aren't always going to scratch your back for you. You've got to scratch your own back sometimes. And he gave all the guys a personalized back scratcher with their name and number on it.
You know, he did the same thing with the blue collar work shirts. He did the same thing in San Francisco when he took over there. He did the same thing in the Chargers, where he gives every guy like a worker shirt, like you'd see an electrician or a mechanic wear, those blue-collar shirts with their name on the patch and cursive over the left breast, you know, just to show that, like, hey, we're all in this together and we got to work. You got to work for a living. And hard work pays off.
And it's not shtick. It's actually who he is. And guys just love it. They eat it up.
Well, it's certainly working out so far this season. I think if they stay healthy, without a shadow of a doubt, whether they win. If the AFC West or they get in as a wild card, I think we can expect to see the Chargers back in the postseason. And I mean, it can't be worse than what we saw last year, so I feel good. about that.

She feels good about the Chargers if They stay healthy. I want to see the Chargers do well. I really like Justin Herbert. I like the fact that he just shows up. He goes to work.
He's not one of these guys in all the commercials. You barely know what he sounds like, but he's out there just whooping ass. I like to watch him throw the ball. I really do. He's just.
This is rare. We don't got a lot of big dudes in the league anymore who just stand around and throw the rock. And he can run. He doesn't put himself in harm's way or risk at all, but And a lot of times he just slanging a rock. I appreciate that.
If you missed that conversation with Shannon Farron, go ahead and hit Rewind. On the free Odyssey app, the Chargers starting their season 2 and 0. The Kansas City Chiefs are well, uh 0-2. And we got a lot of 0-2 teams. Kansas City Chiefs don't want to be in a...
the company and it E squads. The Browns The Jets, the Dolphins, the Titans, the Panthers, the Saints, the Bears, the Giants, yet not where the Kansas City Chiefs. Wanna be. Of course the Chiefs got time to turn things around, or maybe they miss the playoffs. Maybe there's too many injuries.
Maybe the offensive line stinks. We're going to find out. It'll be catastrophic. Let's just put it this way. The Chiefs don't look like Title Contenders At all.
That all instincts. I'm going to tell you about one of the other uh fellow O and two teams. Tennessee Titans, we know they ain't winning no title. God bless them. They got Cam Ward.
They're 0-2 right now. They lost to the Broncos. They lost to the Rams. They got the Colts next. The Colts are 2-0.
Looking good. Brian Callahan. the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. He says, yeah, we're not playing hard enough. What do you want from me?
Season 0 and two, certainly. I'd still got a lot of belief in our football team that we can win games in this league and this season. But right now, we haven't put together a game that's worthy of winning against two really, really good football teams to start. Yeah, they lost to the Broncos and they lost to the Rams. And now they got the Colts next.
And you got Cam Ward out there. And Cam Ward is playing on a team where, let's face it, there's a reason why he was selected number one overall because they were bad. And now they gotta take on the Colts? The two and old cults led by Daniel Jones? Yeah, the same team that has yet to punt the football.
The same team that has yet to turn the football over the Colts are 2-0. They just beat Denver. And Daniel Jones is like. Yeah, uh I feel good about us. I feel good.
We got a lot of confidence in our guys and our guys to win in a lot of those matchups and they did. It's a good secondary. We talked throughout the week. It's a good secondary. It's a good front.
I mean, it's a good defense. We were confident with our guys going in that we'd stack up well. I think game like that, you're going to have some good, some bad, but you kind of just keep going, play the next play. And we won a lot of those situations today. And it was good to see you.
Yeah, I'm like, damn, they just they beat Denver as one of the best defenses in the NFL. How the hell did he do this?
Meanwhile, You got the dolphins.
Well, they stink. We know they do. Dolphins are O and Two. and got no confidence in them at all. Losing to the Patriots.
He had lost These cults, they got to take on the Bills next. Oh, my God. This is going to be. Bad. And Mike McDaniel is answering these questions about his job security.
And he was asked if he saw signs in the stands that are asking him to be fired. No, um I I was uh coaching and calling a football game.
So, yeah, I'd I wasn't. I wasn't spending my time Uh uh considering what the fans were doing at all, I th they Bands want Their team to win.
So they They uh I I figure that If we win football games, that's I don't think it's personal. I think they want to win, and so do I. Ha ha ha Man, somebody needs to just start mashing up. his press conferences.
Somebody needs to make like a mixtape. like the best or worst of uh Mike McDaniel. It'd be hilarious. I don't know if I'd make it through all the uhs and ums, but Maybe one day I get through it. It may take a couple of days or weeks, but It's going to be rather interesting.
Oh man, the team that they're going to take on, the Buffalo Bills. This is a Super Bowl contender in their own division, the AFC East. The Bills are 2-0. They just annihilated one division foe, and the New York Jets beat him 30 to 10. Game was not competitive by any stretch.
It might as well have been thirty to three. Garbage time touchdown. Buffalo Bills' defense looked at the Jets and said, Oh, we got this. Man, you got. You got the We got quarterbacks.
Leaving over here in the concussion protocol. We got Tyrod Taylor having to pick up slack. Justin Fields, the guy on sport brain is mush. And Josh Allen is just like, yeah, yeah, our defense is good. Yeah, I mean I think they took it personal.
You know, they understand what type of defense they can be. They went out there and they played extremely well. Um you know, and that's that's the standard that we're looking from for from them.
Okay, whatever. L talk to me in the Super Bowl, okay? And then we got the New York Jets. Uh n n nothing related to a Super Bowl. We got to go back to 68, 69.
the last time the Jets in Super Bowl ever went together. You got Aaron Glenn, brand new head coach. You got Justin Fields in concussion protocol. And he's trying to tell everybody: you know what? Rome wasn't built in a day.
Uh but he had a different analogy. I understand the outside noise, and I'm not affected by outside noise because I know exactly what we're trying to build here. And I wish it was instant coffee, but it's not. You know, these things take time. And my confidence or the coach's confidence or the player's confidence is not going to be shaken.
And we're going to continue to do the things we've got to do to build this. Yeah, it's going to take a couple of years and better players. Damn. Kansas City Chiefs are in this category. Owen two.
The Browns, the Jets. Dolphins, Titans, Panthers, Saints, Bears, Giants, Texans, we'll get to them. And then the Chiefs. Yuck. It's having a conversation with one of my media friends based in.
Kansas City. Telling me that the vibe in Kansas City right now is bad. The team is bad. Nobody's expecting anything.
Well, you can't be on top forever the whole damn time. Damn, Kansas City Chiefs in the same conversation with the The Jets and the Browns? Yuck. Aaron Glenn comparing this to instant coffee. Botcher, do you you know about Instant Coffee?
I'm assuming it's just like Coffee you put in a cup and you put hot water on it, it's like hot chocolate. Yeah, I get I don't I'm not a coffee. I know espresso. I try not to drink that, but uh yeah. No idea what it is.
Yeah, the jets are bad. Instant coffee. Instant coffee sounds bad, so maybe uh maybe just like the Jets. It stinks. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
We're going to take a break. We come back on the other side. L let's talk about a team that's actually good. This is a team They're two and oh. We're gonna talk about Baker Mayfield.
In the box. They look good. That was a good game against the Texans yesterday. I'm going to give you some of the odds of these 0-2 teams that they can actually make the postseason. We're going to get into Tom Brady and his influence.
on football, whether or not Tom Brady is doing too much. We're going to have Greg Allman joining us. He covers the Buccaneers for Fox Sports.
So we got a lot to do as we continue on. And now we got people still complaining and whining and crying. about the tush push. We'll get into it all. You're locked in.
