We start hour number two. Good afternoon. The show is presented by FanDuel. Yeah, one thing about Fanduel, I want to remind you that we were doing our Fanduel segments, James Kelly and I, on Thursdays, but we have moved them to Wednesdays.
So I know some of you look for that on Thursday. Don't look for that on Thursday. We are doing it on Wednesdays.
So keep that in mind. All right.
So we start hour number two. We are open in this hour. Hit anything you want. Hour number three. Former MLB Russell Martin will be joining us in ATP, in and around all that.
We could talk pro ball. We could talk college ball. We could talk NBA. We could talk hockey. We could talk World Series.
I could talk about any of these things. Your reaction, I'm looking for. You know who I'm looking for specifically, and more than this guy. Nothing against this guy, Austin Juan. I know you're there.
Juan, I know you're listening. I know you're watching. All of you, Austin, where are you? I want to hear what Austin is thinking today because there's a lot to process from that game on Saturday night. Pretty thrilling game, and no, it was not pretty thrilling, but not pretty.
But the Longhorns did what they had to do to get that win, and they had to have that win. I said it going in, must win game. Doesn't matter that a couple of weeks ago they were number one in the nation. That was a must win game. They had to have it.
To keep their season alive and get everybody off of Sark for a minute and breathe some new life into the notion that maybe that Arch Manning thing might work out. It might work out after all.
Now I'm not saying I'm all the way there yet because I'm not, but I've got to give it to the dude. That's exactly the response that I was looking for. It was not perfect. It was far from perfect, but quote edgy Arch. Did show up.
Edgy Arch was asked about Sark saying we need Edgy Arch, and Edgy Arch said, "I don't know what he means by that, but I did play with a chip on my shoulder. That's what he meant by that." That Edgy Arch, Edgy Arch did have a chip on his shoulder, like Sark said he would, and he did make some big time, big time throws and some major errors as well. But bottom line. I think it's fair to say that Arch outplayed the so-called best QB in college football on Saturday night. Except that I think at this point we have to stop calling Trinidad Chambliss the best QB in college football after that performance.
Fact of the matter is, and I love the guy, but he and that offense just are not the same without Lane Kiffin. Ole Miss. It's just not the same without Lane Kiffin. I know that nobody in Oxford wants to hear that right about now. It's just true, because there's no way that last year's Ole Miss team rolls into that game against a wobbly, vulnerable Texas squad that was missing some key players and finds itself down at halftime, twenty-four to three.
Now, some credit to Ole Miss for crawling back the way they did. But no credit for digging that kind of hole in the first place. That said, when Arch threw that arm punt with the game tied at the beginning of the fourth quarter, it felt like surely Ole Miss was about to take advantage, maybe even take over the game at that point. Surely they were about to run away with it. Check this out if you're watching on the stream.
That's not a good idea. That's not a good decision. What are we doing here, Arch? Then once again, at the end of the game, when Ole Miss recovered an onside kick with over a minute left, it felt like this had to be the moment that they were going to make some kind of magic happen and flip the momentum and send this thing to overtime. But for all of their chances in the second half, and again, if you're watching on the stream, look at that.
I mean, we know the odds of recovering an onside kick in that situation are really small. Still couldn't capitalize. Credit to a Texas defense playing without its best player. Credit to Sark for having that team motivated and ready to go. Credit to Arch for making enough plays to win.
And yes, both quarterbacks turned it over three times, but I thought that Arch made more winning plays, and that's a huge reason why Texas won that game and they kept their season alive.
So they lived to fight another week, man. You can only imagine. What it would be like in Austin right now if they lost three games in a row after being top ranked, but they didn't, so they can breathe. They can breathe for now. They kept their season alive.
Not sure that I can say the same about USC's season. Not after my Wisco half fam or adopted fan kicked their asses all over Camp Randall on Saturday. You want to talk about a nice, swift ass kicking? Wisconsin only threw for fifty-eight yards because that's all they needed.
Meanwhile, USC ran twenty-five times for negative seventeen yards. You heard that right? Twenty-five carries for negative seventeen yards. This is freaking running back you, running back you. Twenty-five carries, negative seventeen yards.
How?
Somehow Lincoln Riley made. I mean, somewhere OJ. I'm not going to make an OJ reference.
Somewhere, oh, just looking to slice something up. He's just so angry.
Somehow, Lincoln Riley made that loss even tougher for Trojan fan to stomach when he got to the podium and took quote accountability like this. I mean, I think these you understand, like you know, you have to own it. This is the same team that played a way different brand of football at Penn State two weeks ago. We're very capable doing that again here in the coming weeks, but we got to do it, and it's going to take all of us together, coaches and players. And that's what we'll do.
That that that is accountability. That's your ownership. That's how you own it. That's all you have to say. This is the same team that played Penn State two weeks ago.
Okay, and and link the how does that even mean? We're the same team that went to Penn State, and everybody goes to Penn State. You mean the same Penn State that's winless in the Big Ten? That that's what you're trying to tell us? Everything's going to be fine.
We're the same team that went to Penn State. You all saw the Penn State team game. You saw the big whiteout. You all saw that. We're fine.
We're the same group. You mean the Penn State that everybody is beating right now? You mean the Penn State team that's on a four-game losing streak? That Penn State? Like the hell are you talking about?
Everybody relax. You saw the way we looked at Penn State a couple weeks back. You know we handled Penn State. We can handle anything. Yeah, I bet you look great against Penn State.
But that was then, and everybody does, for the record. But while you may have looked quote great against Penn State, you just look like ass against Wisconsin.
So what the hell does that? What does Penn State have to do with anything at all? What are we doing, Link? Things are so bad for Lincoln. People are speculating that he might skip town to go to Baylor.
Now I understand that social media is social media, and anybody will say anything, and that doesn't mean that that's a real possibility. Only that the Baylor job is suddenly open, and maybe Link might skip town for that. You imagine? You imagine bailing? No offense, Waco.
Waco is about to get offended. No offense, Waco, but imagine bailing on the USC job and Southern California to go running to Waco. No offense, Waco. Unbelievable. Yeah, I'm not even saying that it's likely or that it could or would or should, but the fact that it's even come up is incredible.
Hey, if they're willing to pay or match his buyout, maybe he would. But I think that Lincoln R is moving into the Coach O stage right about now at USC. He's happy to take that buyout if they don't want him around anymore. Link is going to straight up hit the USC administration with one of these any day now. What time you want me to leave, and what door you want me out of, brother?
I said, "What time you want me to leave, and what door you want me out of, brother?" Brother, Edo's the best. I mean, Link. Did I know you get kind of awkward sometimes? And I don't have anything personal against you, but you are really gonna sit up there and say we're the same team that went into Happy Valley and did Penn State? All right, so judges on that, not this.
What are you talking about, dude? What a horrible comp! That's not making anybody feel any better. Everybody's going into Penn State and punching them in the face. Happy Valley.
I know we have an affiliate there. No offense to you either. I'm not looking to offend anybody. I'm just looking to be real.
Meanwhile, if we're being real, why don't we look across town and see how ridiculously well things continue to go for Bob Chesney? The Bruins took a minute to get up for that game against Michigan State, but it didn't matter because eventually they got it going to get to seven and O. The UCLA Bruins are seven and O. The UCLA freaking Bruins are one of three of the remaining unbeaten teams in the country. And they're ranked seventh in the country, and USC is no longer in the AP top twenty-five.
What a time to be alive! It's the first time since UCLA has been seven and O since two thousand five. Hey, who are they led by? Then, fun fact: I'm going to wait for it. Who led them to a seven and O start in O five?
Freaking Drew Olson. That year, UCLA wound up getting curb stomped in the USC game by Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart.
Something tells me that is not how that game is going to go this year, because Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart are not walking through that door for the Trojans. Neither is the speed talking gum assassin, Peter Carroll. Loving this game and loving the guys. They're in the locker room with us, and they play for another relationship to build. You know he'd go back if they asked.
They connect you so that you keep battling because that's what that's what it is. What it feels like. You saw how hard we played tonight. There's there's nothing but guys fighting for one. 05 Bruins.
If I'm not mistaken, my dude, Mercedes Lewis, love him. You know what? Damn, Pete, can you go any faster? Theme by UCLA. Hey, how about this?
Did anybody coming into this year? Never mind. Did anybody out there think that UCLA would be seven and zero? Did anybody out there think that USC? They were supposed to make the playoff for the first time under Link five years in, would have the opportunity to play the role of spoiler to UCLA and not vice versa at the end of the year.
But look who's still ahead for UCLA because that's exactly what it is. USC is not going to the playoff. UCLA could very well go to the playoff, and USC could wreck that. You know what's incredible? You look at the disasters that are USC and Michigan.
Look who UCLA still has left, USC and Michigan. Man, can you imagine if Bob Chesney and UCLA were to beat both of them? How sweet that would be, and how disappointing would be if he didn't. And by the way, you can see where he could lose either or. I don't want to say both those games, but that that's still a big ask, even at seven and zero.
So, which brings us to this. What's worse when it comes to terrible answers from head coaches after bad losses? "Quote: We're the same team now that beat Penn State." This is the same team that played Penn State two weeks ago. What's worse, that or we're just a couple of plays away from being seven and O? Because that's what my guy Kyle Winningham tried to trot out on Saturday after Michigan lost at home again and had another pathetic offensive performance.
Again, somehow I don't think that Michigan is satisfied with this response from my guy Witt. My job is to do whatever is best for the program, and I, you know. I'm fully aware of that, and if there's tough decisions to be made in that regard, I'll certainly have made them before and will again. But right now, I don't think it's time to panic. You know, we're—I guess you could say—we're two or three plays away from six and one or seven and zero.
You could say that, I guess. Nobody would buy it. You wouldn't be accurate. But you could say that. Two or three plays from six and one or seven and zero.
You tell me what's worse: with the same team that beat Penn State a couple weeks back, or we're two or three plays away from being six and one or seven and zero, or or are you two or three plays away from being one and six? This team has lost three of its last four, and my man's up there talking about seven and zero. What? I mean, maybe a slightly better answer than I just can't find hate in my heart for Ohio State.
Something else, Witt said, but still pretty brutal. If the Michigan Wolverines are two or three plays away from seven and zero. Then there are about seventy programs that are two or three plays away from seven and zero right now. If Michigan is two or three plays away from seven and zero, then everyone is two or three plays away from seven and zero. I mean, I'll give Whit and Michigan this much: at least they got something out of benching their multi-million-dollar QB investment.
Well, wait. No, they didn't bench a guy you've already given millions to, and that you owe millions to, and for what? To put the ball in the end zone zero times to score six points at home in a game you have to have to keep any delusional hopes alive for this season. And believe me, we all know Michigan man does delusion better than anybody ever. But not even Michigan man is delusional enough to think that there's anything promising down the road this season, and for the Wolverines to be two or three plays away from being six and one or seven to zero, not even Michigan man is that delusional.
Not even Michigan man believes that. If only those two or three plays had gone the other way, Michigan would be the number one team in the country right now. Isn't it crazy how that works? Except that's not how anything works. Or two or three plays away from six and one or seven and zero.
But you're not. Wit, wit, my guy. You know, I got nothing but respect for you. But damn, it did not take you long to become Michigan man, because only Michigan man would be delusional enough to say something like that. I mean, you weren't Michigan man when you got there, and they tried to get you to say you hate Ohio State.
I bet right now you'd say that, because my man, you sound like Michigan man now. If you're saying things that delusional, at Baba in OC is jumping through on chat. If you're getting ready for work right now, you're Lincoln Riley, wild. What are you saying, bro? That he should have been fired by now?
You can't believe that he's getting ready for work. If you're getting ready for work right now, you're Lincoln Riley. Wild! Like this dude's like, I can't believe this guy's still getting ready for work right now, bro. The reason he's still getting ready for work right now is they're on the hook for many, many, many millions of dollars.
That's funny though. It's the same team that played Penn State two weeks ago. Not even like millions of dollars, tens of millions of dollars, after just getting slapped by Wisconsin. And I will tell you this, because they did get hammered by Wisconsin. That actually flatters UCLA, who also beat Wisconsin, and Wisconsin's having a better year than expected.
So that's good for UCLA. Not good for USC. SP eleven two eighty two quote. Coach Witt should have stayed in Salt Lake City. Michigan is one of the most toxic environments to coach in in all college football.
Two things, two things. Number one, obviously Witt did not feel wanted in Salt Lake City. Obviously, that had run its course, or he would still be there. Because I think at the end of the day, he really didn't want to leave. Or if he had things his way, he wouldn't have left.
And when you say that Michigan number two is one of the most toxic environments, right? That's why they brought him in to clean it up. They thought that he would lend stability. Michigan man finally went outside the Michigan family because all the Michigan family did was create this mess to begin with. They were hoping that a hardcore, old school, tough-minded outsider like Witt would come in and clean that mess up.
And so far, that has not happened. Aaron and Iowa, hey Kyle Witt, I wouldn't say that. I might not say that either. Signed Tom Jim Zula. I wouldn't say either.
Not say that. I wouldn't say it. Not say that. I would not say that. I wouldn't believe that guy even existed.
Not say that. I wouldn't say that. Jim Zula. Did he say that? I wouldn't say either.
I would not say that. I wouldn't say it either. All right.
When we come back, I wouldn't say it either. I would not say that. I'm looking for your reaction. I would not say that. I wouldn't say it either.
A lot of college football too. You can hear pro ball. You can hear college ball. I'm feeling like I want to talk some baseball too. I'm going to keep moving.
All right, so every small business owner dreams of scoring a touchdown. I did, honestly. For me, that touchdown was finding Gusto, the online payroll and benefit software that is built for small businesses. Gusto is all in one, remote friendly, and has every play covered. You can pay, hire, onboard, and support your team from anywhere.
We do. With unlimited payrolls and no surprise fees, I mean, we'd be lost without Gusto. I love this company so much; you should go to Gusto. dot com today and see why over five hundred thousand small businesses, including ours, call Gusto their MVP. That's G U S T O.
dot com, G U S T T O. dot com, Gusto. dot com. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show.
Some more reaction. I want to get to momentarily. First, though, quick question. Why is Old Trapper beef jerky so good? Why do I eat it every single day?
Because there is something to be said for a family business which stands by quality and produces the world's finest beef jerky. Do not be fooled by the other brands because not all beef jerky is the same. I think some of you still make that mistake. Make sure you choose Old Trapper, where you can actually see the quality right through their iconic Clear View packages. Every single bite of Old Trapper is tender; it's never tough because they use just the best ingredients.
Again, they don't have to do that. Either, there are other ways to go about that, but they want to use the best because they want to be the best. From their lean strips of beef seasoned with top quality spices to their real wood-fired smoke, Old Trapper delivers quality in every single bite. And it comes in four great, great flavors. That's why I love this partnership.
It is such a good product. Go with the best. Grab and go with a four ounce bag, or load up with an eighteen ounce bag. That way, there's enough for the entire team. If you don't see it, and you will, but if you don't ask for a trapper by name, because no other jerky compares.
Oh, trapper, what is your beef? And we have our ionic beef segment on Thursdays. That stays in the same place. All right, quickly, some reaction. Jimothy, let's pump the brakes on McCarthy.
He ripped up that trash ass, overrated, fraudulent Texans defense. I told you week one that the only real defense in the league is our Vikings. The Texans' fake ass defense and the G-men's run game. Won that game, V and the fee. War me and Rome's combined nine and O Vikings and Lakers.
Where Jonathan Taylor getting traded to our Vikings? Damn, V, an awful lot to unpack in that. All right, number one, Donac. I mean, for whatever you have against JJ, I understand it, and he was an absolute bust there. But bro, give the guy credit.
The guy played lights out. He played great. I mean, the guy was just throwing lasers, and looked great, and played great. Processed quickly, looked the part. The arm talent was there.
The guy was great, and you can't just put that all on the quote trash ass, overrated, fraudulent Texans defense. Even if, sadly, that's true at this point, I hate to say it, man. It breaks my heart to say it, but it is true. The Texans' defense is not playing poorly; they're just not good. You give up thirty that many times, and you let the Vikings come into your house, or not the Vikings, but the Giants, come into your house and run right over you, and you let JJ in his very first start slice and dice you.
That's not good.
However, V, your Vikings defense is great, but your offense is not. Yes, you're unbeaten, but what about that offense, dude? What about your offense? And stop saying it's our Vikings, bro. I'm talking about your offense.
Yes, you're undefeated, but an inability to run the ball. Kyler certainly does not look like the Kyler that I hammered for MVP futures. I don't think I'm going to catch that bet. By the way, you know what they look like? I hate to say it.
Your Vikings v they look like a team that they've looked like in the past, where they somehow get through the regular season, only get to the postseason, and get knocked the hell out.
So you better hope that Jonathan Taylor gets traded to your Vikings. Go ahead and keep hoping for that, or Saquon. Then there is this something we've not hit on. I mentioned the NBA. Sean Rice too writes as a Thunder fan.
Absolutely brutal to see J. Dub go down with that injury last night. Not even as it relates to what it means for the team and their title chances this year, but just for him as a human being, finally back healthy, just to go down in Game Three is awful. I agree with that. Not only for him finally to be back healthy after being hurt, not only to go down, but to go down like that in a just.
Really grotesque injury, and if you watched SGA, that tells you all you need to know about how they feel about him and how horrible a thing that was. He was closest to it when it happened, and you could just see his reaction. He was just absolutely devastated and rattled. Like like he doesn't even want to look. If you're watching the stream right now.
NBA on ESPN posted SGA was visibly shaken after Jalen Williams' injury. I mean, that's about as emotional as you ever see a teammate when another teammate goes down. I mean, they're all covering their faces because they love the guy and because of what he's been through and how hard he worked to get back and how grotesque it was. Even during the interview, he was crying.
So I agree with you. I want to acknowledge that that that was terrible, terrible. Dave Wilcox is in. Hey USC, can we start calling you the Clippers? Regards, your big brother in Westwood.
Go Bruins, brother. Man, that didn't take long, did it? That did not take long, did it? Like, Link has had five years. And Bob Chesney's had seven games, and already USC is lil bro.
That's how electric Chesney is. Like I don't even care what happens going forward for the rest of this season. The fact that they're seven and O in the Big Ten. I'm going to say Bob Chesney leading the Bruins to the college football playoff in his first year at UCLA is even more unlikely than him leading James Madison to the college football playoff. At least at James Madison, he inherited talent.
This guy shows up at UCLA with that cupboard is not. I don't want to say bare. They kept Nico, but Nico went down. See, that's the other thing. Not only are they winning.
And finding ways to get it done, but they're losing guys, and they're finding ways to get it done. It's the culture; they just believe, and they're physical, man. When was the last time you saw a UCLA Bruins team that had this kind of belief, and this kind of physicality, and this kind of juice, and this kind of energy? Every coach talks process. Every coach talks juice and energy and preparation.
Like they're all saying the same things, but it doesn't work for everybody. Chesney's like a magician. Not only is it not the first place he's done it, he's done it everywhere. If anybody had the right to say Google me, it's that guy. Gail was in.
Romy, how about my Giants? If I didn't love Nick Casario so much, I'd yell scoreboard, look at it. But I won't.
Now I've never been a JJ fan, but I'm starting to believe. Unwore a kicker with no confidence. There are some teams that need kickers. By the way, Frisco fan, it looks like you have a kicking problem again. Then again, Frisco fan, when have you not had a kicking problem?
You always need a kicker, Frisco. Kale, it didn't take long, did it? JJ, JJ, I'm sorry. He earned the right to do it, but it doesn't make it any less amusing that that guy's standing in the middle of an NFL locker room, firing everybody up. I mean, why don't you start giving out game balls, JJ?
Got there ten minutes ago after being run the hell out of Minnesota on a rail, and my man's there just dropping f bombs, firing everybody up. I couldn't tell if they were looking to laugh at him or if they were hyped. But then again, you go into Houston and you lay an ass kicking on them like that. JJ, go ahead and do what you want to do, man. As cringy and awkward as it is.
Just that guy standing in the middle of an NFL locker room, just like flexing like that, is incredible to me. But he earned it. He played great. All right, Russell Martin, top of the hour. When we come back, I may talk some baseball before I get to Russ, or maybe I won't.
We'll see. About some telephone calls, one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Lots to get to still yet, and an ATP. I want to remind you that get your ATPs in. Stay tuned.
You're listening to the Jim Rome Show.
Once again, a reminder: clones. Not all beef jerky is the same. Old Trapper is original, old fashioned teriyaki, hot and spicy, and peppered. All coming in four ounce bags, so you can sample different flavors and find the best one for you. Ask for Old Trapper by name because no other jerky compares.
Old Trapper. What is your beef? Also, Monday is NACP Day. Ask the pros. You get to ask me a question or anybody else on the crew.
It's always sponsored by O'Reilly Auto Parts. Just post that question at Jim Rome. Use the hashtag Ask the Pros on X. Listen later on next hour. And we will answer some of your questions.

Let's go to Tampa. Game three, St. Pete tonight. The World Series. Robert in Tampa.
Robert, what's going on? How are you? Jim, always great to be on the line with one of the hardest working men in broadcasting. I truly mean that. Been a fan for a long time.
So, Jim, I've been to a Stanley Cup, I've been to a Super Bowl, but tonight I am pumped. This will be my first ever World Series game, and you know what? I got tickets behind third base for five hundred dollars.
Now I know five hundred dollars is still a lot of money to a lot of people.
However, imagine if this game was in Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park or in Milwaukee. That ticket would be three, four, five thousand dollars easy. In fact, I have met a lot of Brewers fans this week who said it was cheaper to get on an airplane, get a hotel room, and go to the game, and also afford a few beers. It's cheaper to do that than it would have. Just to go to their own backyard in Milwaukee.
So here is my point: putting a call out to all those Rays fans. It's time to really start giving this team the credit they deserve. Every year, they're one of the bottom payrolls, but one of the top in wins. Every year, they supersede expectations. Let's go out and give them the support they need.
Two years ago, Jim, the roof was literally blown off of the stadium, Trabancana Field, because of a hurricane. Tonight, Rays fans, let's blow off that roof with energy, with excitement, with team spirit. The Rays have been the doormat for too long. They're too good of an organization, too many good players, too well-run. Let's go out and give them what they deserve.
I really, truly believe the Rays can come back. They got the kind of team, and my plan is to call you tomorrow with a recap when Junior Caminero hits a home run to win the game in extra innings. I love you, Jim. I'm out. Go Rays.
Oh man, Robert in Tampa. In market, on topic, lots of energy. Rack him. Hey, you know what? He's right.
Rack him. He's right. You probably could. If Brewers fans were saying we could make that trip, we can pay for our airfare, get our hotel, and our tickets, and it's still less than what it would cost for us to stay home and pay for a ticket. True.
Which is the rap against the Rays fans. Man, fill that yard. You have a really nice team. You're in the freaking World Series, all right. Yes, you lost a couple of games in Milwaukee.
Yes, you blew a four nothing lead. Man, don't sweat that. You're not the first. You certainly are not the first. This is what the Brewers do to people.
This is why they're so tough and they're so good. Actually, there's a lot of reasons why they're so tough and they're so good. But you got Peralta going tonight, Game Three in your yard, man. I hope that you did not start selling your tickets to Brewers fans because they will buy them because they're right. It is cheaper and better—not better, but cheaper—to get on a plane, get a hotel room, get their concessions, get their beers, buy their ticket, and see their team.
And don't think they won't, because they will. I think that guy nailed it. You better show up in force. I love that. I love the series.
I love the matchup, and that's coming from quote Dodger Jim. They are who we thought they were, both of them. Russell Martin will join me at the top of the hour, and we'll talk more about that. Personally, I like the Rays tonight. I like the Rays tonight because they've got a stud who won 17 games for the Brewers last year.
They're going to be at home, assuming Rays fans did not sell all their tickets. They'll be more comfortable at home. And the thing about Milwaukee, as insane as that bullpen is, as incredible as that bullpen is, I mean, it's got to crack at some point, right? I'm not saying implode. I'm just saying it has to crack.
For at least a game at some point, how long can they keep this up?
So, if we're going game by game, I like the Rays tonight personally, but we'll see how the fans show up. You know, Milwaukee's going to show up the same way they do every single game. They're going to use every single—never mind every single out. They use every single pitch. I have never seen a team work at bats the way the Brewers do.
And they don't beat themselves, and their bullpen is incredible. And there's just something about this team. Like I don't normally buy that whole team of destiny thing, but there's something about this team. And oh yes, they were the best team in all baseball throughout the year. Let's go to No Cow Steve.
What's happening, partner? Roll me, roll. We can't find it. How you doing, dude? Doing good, Rome.
Hey, I wanted to give my take on the World Series too because oh, and real quickly, V in the feet. I thought you were a Raider fan. Oh, that's right, you're a SoCal front runner. Anyways, this World Series is great. It's really intense, and you know, I'm a Giants fan, yes, but you know, you got to put team loyalty aside when it comes to the World Series because each year.
It's always the cream of the crop that shows up in the World Series. That's right, the cream hangs to the top, and these are the two best teams. And these two games have been super intensive because they went right down to the last strike. What more could a baseball fan ask for?
So I'm really loving it. I I don't know who's going to win. I'm not, you know, the betting guy. I don't really care who wins. I don't have any loyalty in it, but I know the best team's going to win, and that's what makes the World Series great.
I wanted to drop one more little thing too. I wanted to give props to Harold Reynolds. Harold Reynolds, to me, is the best baseball analyst announcer in the media. I look forward to him after every game and before every game.
So I just wanted to give big props to Harold. That's all I got, Jim. I'm out. I'll be glued to the TV tonight for the series. Come on, my brother.
Because we have a relationship, and you have a relationship with the show. I think I can say this to you, and you won't take this the wrong way, my man. When you say that's all I have for you, you actually had nothing for me, other than what's that, partner? I mean, bro, you you you're random. Always, random is one thing.
Having nothing is another. If you have nothing to say, I mean, like, I want the calls, but let's never forget, have a take. What was your take? What was your take? I don't know who's going to win.
I don't care who's going to win. The cream rises to the top of the World Series, and the best team will win. Rack me! I'm out. That's not a take.
I mean, I guess you were saying that Harold Reynolds is the greatest broadcaster ever. Is a take? It's a take. I don't know, my man. You can do better.
Cream of the crop. I mean, saying cream of the crop, but then saying it like that does not make it a take. Like I'll give you a take. The Rays are going to win tonight. That's my take.
I think they're going to win tonight, and they better win tonight because they're not going to beat Milwaukee four out of five games. This isn't a matter of Milwaukee held serve, and this is exactly where they should be, and the Rays are where they should be. If they lose tonight, this series is over. Obviously, they have to win tonight, and I think they will. Their backs are to the wall.
They will be more comfortable at home. I don't think that that Milwaukee bullpen can keep doing this over and over and over again. Peralta's been unhittable in the postseason. The big bats for the Rays will get on track tonight. They'll win.
They have to win. Their backs to the wall, and it's not just a matter of the cream of the crop. Have a take. Don't suck. Have a take.
Don't suck. The cream of the crop. All right, time for a phone call. One more before the end of the hour. Let's go to Denver, PJ.
In Denver, you made it in, PJ. What's up? What's up, Jim? How you doing? Good, dude.
How are you? Good, good. Hey, Broncos. We have we're a shaky five and two team right now. They didn't look good.
I even though we've eaked out a couple of wins, I think we lost confidence in some Bo Nix.
However, yesterday, you know his average throwing the ball down the field was less than five yards or something. Horrible like that. Yesterday, first play, twenty yards to Cortland Sutton, who has also been kind of a ghost on the field, gave me hope right away, and he kept it going. Also, the I think the biggest Broncos fear is his legs. Coming back from the injury, and yesterday he proved that it looks like he has the the confidence back, and actually getting down the damn field and out of the pocket.
And their schedule: they're five wins, they're three and one against the NFC West. That's a hell of an accomplishment, and we finish up this series with KC next week. We are done. We only have the pathetic Raiders and the pathetic Chargers left in the AFC West. Broncos, don't sleep on them.
I feel like they are looking good. I do want to point out to you, Jim. James Kelly said he lives off of Highway 93 out near Boulder. He was so close to you. Unmore him for not actually coming down to meet you up for a beer.
His drive wasn't twenty minutes; it was more like ten to twelve minutes. Peace, PJ. You could have saved us all the trouble and just gone to that, and that would have got you wrecked. Instead of breaking down how Bo Nix looks fine and Cortland Sutton did this, and let's not talk about even Sean Payton owning the fact that that trickery late in the game got Joe and Waddle hurt, you should just said James Kelly has not lived that far from where you were, Rome. He should have come down, met you at the airport, and gotten you a beer.
And I would have said, rack him, Russell Martin next. Fox News coverage of Democracy 26 is streaming live on Fox One.
