Apparently, As the Lakers have wined and dined Lukadach, I think The Lakers have left LeBron James out in the cold. Apparently, as the Los Angeles Lakers knew that they were going to be sold, uh Luka Doncich knew about the impending sale. LeBron James did.
Not. The Los Angeles Lakers are like, we need to kiss Lucas' ass. And LeBron James, well, You just hear right now. Listen to what Brian Windhorse had to say about this situation earlier today on ESPN. There is no update, Dan.
LeBron is continuing to watch, but he is still under contract for $53 million, which makes no matter what anything is said, both verbally or non-verbally, his likelihood of remaining a Laker. I can't emphasize what I'm about to say enough. Regardless of who they sign at center, regardless of what LeBron does with his option, regardless of any backup signings they make, the number one most important thing for the Lakers this offseason is getting Luka Doncich into a contract extension, which they can do after August 2nd. And I'm going to sound this warning now. He's probably not going to sign August 2nd.
He's going to be playing with the Slovenian national team until mid-September, and he may not entertain that even issue until he comes back to the U.S. at that time.

Even though Cooper Flag had a bad game, 10 points. five of twenty one from the field. This was ESPN's. Fourth most watched Summer League game. Ever Okay, the game between the Lakers and the Mavs last night, where of course they had Bronnie James out there, it peaked.
At 1.1 million. Viewers It was big time.
Okay, the only games. that ever saw more games or, excuse me, more viewers than what we had last night. 2019 Well you had Zion Williamson versus R.J. Barrett. That was, you know, Pelicans versus the Knicks.
You had Victor Wembenyama. Two years ago the Spurs took on the Hornets and Brandon Miller. You had Lonzo Ball and Tatum, And those are the only games that garnered more eyeballs than what we saw last night. And Cooper Flag, even though he didn't have a great game. This is what Cooper Flagg had to say about his performance last night, his in his NBA debut.
Not up to my standard. But I'm going to regroup. I'm going to be alright. You know, it's a new feeling, new environment, new teammates. But, you know, the guys shouted down.
You know, Miles, Ryan, they were amazing tonight. Max. Oh, and they were great tonight.
So, you know, just, you know, they had my back. You know, I didn't have my best game. But I'm going to just keep going going forward. Yeah, just keep going for it. He got he got plenty of time to develop.
I think it's that nobody's expecting him to show up and just dominate. The NBA. actually think the expectations were higher, For Victor Wembanyama upon coming into the league because of all the hype that he received. And of course, he was coming from overseas, but Man, Victor Wembanyama, they they the NBA would h would play his games in the app. They put his games on NBA TV just so the American audience could become acquainted.
And with who he was.
So, yeah. Uh Ray, do would you agree with that, Wembenyama? He had well, yeah, he he's but he was hyped definitely way more than flag, I think. No, for sure. Wimbayama came into the league being positioned as the next guy.
And I still think, as of right now, once LeBron finally leaves the club. It'll be Wimba Nyama's club now. He'll get to go to the VIP section and call the shots from the back of the club. But I think Cooper Flag, if he can hit the ground running, Considering Dallas's history with white players, let's call it what it is. He has a great supporting cast.
He can absolutely push Wemby for that position as the face of the league. Wow, I'm not prepared to say all of that. And Victor Wembanyama, I hope that's the case. because I want to see Victor Wembanyama actually be healthy. And I I know i by all uh accounts we haven't heard anything.
About the blood clot that he had in his arm. And so I think it's safe to assume that he will be perfectly fine in that regard. I always thought that it'd be another type of injury to take him down, maybe a knee, maybe a foot. But when it comes to Wemben Yama, there's no athlete in the NBA. Not that you wish injury on anybody.
We saw or we have seen how many injuries are taking guys out right now. But Wimbinyama is the guy that I would really want to see active. And out there on the basketball court.
So a Cooper flag, one game, doesn't make a career. especially in the Summer League, And especially for a guy who's so young. He is only eighteen and Years. Oh. Hopefully we get a lot of matchups between.

Well He was arrested this morning. Ah, I'll let you take a listen, courtesy of uh WPOG News in Miami. Developing right now, a well-known boxer arrested right here in South Florida. Javante Davis is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Dural. And this is not the first run-in with the law.
Local teams, Roy Ramos, is live outside of the jail in West Miami-Dade. And I know you have some details on this latest arrest for the boxer, Roy. Christy and Alex says the charge he is facing is battery with domestic violence. And you mentioned this was an ex-girlfriend, but it is also the mother of his children. That according to police, let's show you who we're talking about here.
You were looking at the mugshot of professional and well-known boxer, 30-year-old Gervanta Tank Davis. He was arrested by Miami Beach Police early this morning on a warrant for his arrest following an alleged incident that happened in June on Father's Day. In the arrest report we obtained, Davis is accused of striking and slapping the mother of his children in the face, causing injuries to her lip as he arrived to pick up his kids from her Doral home. Unfortunately, this is not the first time Davis has made headlines for his run-ins with the law involving domestic violence. I tried to speak with him back in 2022 as he bonded out of the Broward County Jail for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend's Parkland home, causing injuries to her face.
In 2020, he was seen on video grabbing his ex-girlfriend by the throat at a celebrity basketball game. While Davis is known for his fight in the ring, it is his fight with the law that he is facing off with once again. And Davis is expected to face a judge at some point today, likely this afternoon. We will be there for that and let you know what the judge decides. For now in West Biomedi Dave, Roy Ramos, Local 10 News.

We're going to take legal action because you're saying that he's committed fraud. And it's like, how many more? How many more publicity stunts?
can we actually add? And they actually put him on the the rankings Uh to to get a a title shot, which is also a sham. But I guess anything that can go out there and and make money. I have no idea what this all female card will look like tonight. I know Clarissa Shields is not a part of it.
I think this is all Jake Paul runnin' around making his own damn money. But I'm going to tune in. I'm going to watch. I mean, they've already underway in New York City, Madison Square Garden. I'm going to go ahead and take a look.
But it it's tough. when it comes to to female boxing. Like How many how many female boxes have we had that that move a needle. me we had Layla and Lee Clarissa Shields. Am I missing anybody?
Off the top of my head, like at that highest level where they had crossover appeal, I can't remember anyone else. It's because I don't think there's enough competition for it. None. And oh uh How how much do you think the audience actually skews? Towards do you think tho what three percent more women probably watch because there's two women fighting?
It's probably sis all still all men, right? Um, I won't say that 'cause I remember when in the UFC When her name escapes me right now, but when she was popping in the UFC, the ladies tuned in. The woman who went to Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey. When Rousey was out here knocking people out, I would go to these fight parties, and the ladies were turning up for Ronda Rousey.
So if you're good, especially in the fight game, the women will come out and support. But if you're just there, I don't, you know, you got to show improve for the ladies to show interest. I guess. And I don't I don't Ronda Rousey wasn't always a isn't she a mom? Yeah, she's a mom now, right?
Yeah, she she had her run. You know, she might I think everything I've read says that she's more interested in going back to pro wrestling than UFC Oh boy.

Well, no, he didn't. He went from being a real wrestler. And then he went to WWE. And then he left WWE. and then he won the heavyweight championship.
in the UFC. And then he left the UFC because of diverticulitis.
Somebody needed to tell him he should have eaten vegetables. You just can't eat 20 pounds of meat every day. And then he went back to WWE. And now he's just gone because he was in that uh That lawsuit with Vince McMahon.
So it's probably best that he lay low. And then I've seen his daughter. His daughter, what does she do? She she does shot putt, right? Yes, shock putt and she's doing it at a high level.
Well, how long before WWE calls her?
Soon. As soon as she turns 18, I think WWE has like a. She's in college. She's in college. Well, she probably is on her way to getting that NIL back because I noticed with that company now, they're getting kids right out of college who probably never even watched wrestling, but they're giving them a pipeline to make money, and they're training them from the ground up to be wrestlers.
Is it better to be a wrestling fan to become a wrestler, or is it better to just have a real athlete out the gate? Uh In wrestling, it's always better when you have a person with an athletic background. They catch on much quicker. Look at Brock. Brock going from actual wrestling into pro wrestling.
Easy from pro wrestling in the UFC. You mean easy? Wait, wait, wait. Do you mean to tell me that everybody in professional, they're all athletes? No, they're really it's better to have an athletic background and go into pro wrestling as opposed to just being a guy that wants to be a wrestler.
Because a lot of them got, like, what's that guy? He tried MMA and got his ass whooped cup. CM Punk, he's not no athlete, right? Exactly. Not the most coordinated guy, not the most athletic, but he's a good pro wrestler.

We talk about a few things that took place this day in the day. in sports history. Back, back, back, back! Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history.
See, back in those days, we had radio and you couldn't see anything, and it was primitive and lousy, and we liked it. On the JR Sport Brief Show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. It is July 11th. 2025, but if we go back in time to July 11th, 1985.
Nolan Ryan becomes the first man in Major League Baseball history. to record. Four thousand strikeouts. Danny Heap was the victim. The Astros were taken on the New York Mets and Nolan Ryan sat him down.
In the sixth inning in the Astrodome. Listen to this. First man in the history of this great game to have 4,000 strikeouts. Breaking ball, and that's it. Strikeout number 4,000 for Nolan Ryan.
Yeah, he was 38 years old at the time. Then we know he ended up with almost 5,700 strikeouts. And by the way, the Astros, they beat the New York Mets four to three in that game. They got the job done in 12 innings. July 11th.
Let's go ahead and just hit the fast forward button. Let's go to 2010. Because Spain They went out there. And they beat the Netherlands in South Africa. To win the World Cup.

Well, this wasn't notable for good reasons. Steve Nash was traded by the Suns to the Lakers. Yeah, that did not work out. Steve Nash was a broken man. July 11th.
2015. Serena Williams ended up winning her sixth, sixth championship. at Wimbledon. She beat Garbine? Mugaruza of Spain?
She beat her in two sets. And for Serena Williams, it was her second Serena slam. She won all four major titles at the same damn time. This was her 21st. major at the time, take a listen to Serena getting it done at Wimbledon.
And she's done it. Yeah, so much Serena Williams is Wimbledon champion. For the sixth time, she's a brand slam champion for the 21st time. One more. to equal Steffi Graf.
Two more to eclipse her. and set a record that will probably last into the next millennium. Amber and beyond. The Queen of Centre Court. Once more.
Yeah, well, we know she did end up passing Steffi Graff and getting that record, Serena. Williams getting a job done this day in sports history in 2015. July 11th. 2021. Oh my goodness, this guy's still playing.
He actually lost today, so I'm happy about that. Novak Djokovich. He went out there and he won Wimbledon this day in sports history four years ago in 2021. He beat Matteo Betterini of Italy. To win Wimbledon, it was his 20th Grand Slam title.
And now he has more Grand Slams than anybody. But listen to Djokovic be oh, oh, so humble. It was more than a battle. I would first like to extend a congratulations to Matteo, his family, his team for a fantastic tournament. Tough match today.
Obviously, I know that it's not the best feeling losing in the finals, but I'm sure that there's a great career ahead of you and as he said, it's just the beginning. Yeah, just the beginning. Oh my god.
Well, he lost today to Yannick Center. He's like man, I'm old. He's 38 years old. He's still out here doing this. Nadal gone, Federer going, he's still going.
