The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, they're currently tied at 54 points apiece. A little less than five minutes to go in the first half. Knicks are trying to stay out of a 3-1 deficit. The Pacers are trying to go up 3-1. We talked about the game that took place last night, the Minnesota Timberwolves going down to the Oklahoma City Thunder again.

The Thunder now one game away from advancing to the championship. Talked about all these NFL teams that have opened up off-season training. Voluntary OTAs.

Voluntary. And sure, I told you who didn't show up. Guys like James Cook, TJ Watt. These dudes are looking for new contracts.

They were not at work. And we've done a lot. Thank you as well so much to Scott Doctorman. Covers all things college football for the athletic. But he came by and we had a good old chat about some of these potential changes on the college football scene. Talked about Kaitlyn Clark and Jalen Ramsey.

Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. It's been May 27th. All. Day.

Long. You know what? Let's take a step back. Let's think about some of the news and things that we have discussed here throughout the course of the day, throughout the course of the show, as it's been a very busy one.

Knicks and Pacers are going to take us all the way down to the wire again. If you want to be a part of the show, by the way, you can do so. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. You can find me online. Do you use the internet? Do you scroll?

Do you waste your time? I'm there too. I am at JR Sportbrief. Interesting game that the Knicks and Pacers are playing right now. Tom Thibodeau, mister, I never go to my bench. He has already utilized five players off the bench. Yeah, guys, you probably never heard of because he never plays them. Precious Atua, Myles McBride, Josh Hart was a starter, 16 minutes off the bench, Delon Wright, Landry Shammet.

I mean, we might blink. P.J. Tucker might be on the court. Who am I kidding? If we see him, it's super garbage time.

P.J. Tucker might actually be a good thing for the New York Knicks. Rick Carlisle, the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, he was actually asked about the usage of the bench in game three, as Carl Anthony Towns pretty much helped spark a comeback. And Rick Carlisle, are you surprised that Tom Thibodeau used his bench?

And Rick Carlisle was like, no, I don't know if he was joking or if he was being serious. The bench guys have had a lot of good stretches all year long and in the playoffs. You know, Payne, who's had some very good stretches, didn't play. I mean, look at this. This is going to be, you know, we had some unexpected guys playing in the second game and, you know, they made some changes in the third game.

And tomorrow's another new chapter. Cam Payne has not played a minute tonight. He's trying to bait Thibodeau. I don't know if you've seen this, but that's the third time he's done that. He keeps mentioning these deep end of bench guys and being like, we're very scared if they play. I don't know if he's trying to bait dibs into playing them.

Have you seen this? Yeah. Cam had some good stretches. I mean, besides game one against the Pistons, he wasn't good for the Knicks this postseason. Maybe one game against Boston.

Well, Cam, there's a reason why campaign is on the bench. And I certainly think that that Rick Carlisle, he's been around the block. And Tom Thibodeau was no idiot as well, but he knows the narrative exists of pretty much Tom Thibodeau not utilizing his bench. And Tom Thibodeau is not going to be bullied, you know, outwitted or outsmarted to go ahead and getting into his bench.

But Rick Carlisle with a little bit of gamesmanship, not too surprising for a vet like him. The New York Knicks have now taken the lead. They lead 61 to 62 minutes to go here in the first.

We'll keep you up to date on this one. This is an active game as the New York Knicks are trying to keep this series or move this series to 2-2. Last night, well, the Knicks don't want to be where the Minnesota Timberwolves currently reside. That is in a 1-3 hold.

To the shock of, I think, nobody. The Oklahoma City Thunder are now one victory away from advancing to the NBA Finals, representing the Western Conference, something they haven't done since they went in 2012 and lost to LeBron James in the Miami Heat. Well, last night, Anthony Edwards, what a crap game he had. 16 points. Julius Randle only had five. It was just bad all the way around. And I don't know if Anthony Edwards is demoralized based on what they've seen. He was 5 of 13 from the field. And in the locker room, when he was asked about his performance and why he struggled and Randall, he didn't consider it struggling. He just said, I didn't get enough shots.

OK, listen to this. I don't look at it like I struggled or he struggled. They just they had a good game plan, making us get off the ball, especially for me, man.

It was super in the gaps. I made the right play all night. So I don't really look at it like I struggled. I didn't get enough shots to say I struggled.

So that's my that might be how you guys look at it. But yeah, I didn't struggle. It's just I made the right play. No, you struggled. You struggled. Julius Randle struggled. You guys went out there and lost by two points. The bench had to pick you guys up. They're paying you the big bucks to ultimately win the game. Not not Dante DiFacenzo. So, I mean, if you played any you put a couple buckets up, you won a seven from downtown.

Yeah, I would have won as simple as that. He's going to go into an off season and he's going to have some added motivation. There's no there's no Olympics to save Anthony Edwards. He's going to be able to go into the lab and hopefully, especially if he's a funny guy, very gregarious, very nice guy.

He's a cool dude. But I think we might see a little bit of an evolution now that he's likely going to fail here again in the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year. He's going to have plenty of time to think about things. They play tomorrow with their backs up against the wall. Wouldn't be shocked if they had a bounce back performance. But ultimately, the season is going to end for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Speaking of seasons ending, we got the NFL.

Their calendar year is already underway. We've had rookie minicamp. And today we've had 20 NFL teams that held voluntary OTAs. And we know in the NFL voluntary means unless you are Patrick Mahomes or you're Aaron Rodgers trying to make a trip, you got to show up.

But we have some guys who wanted to make a statement by not appearing. One of those guys happens to be James Cook. You heard me correctly, James Cook running back for the Buffalo Bills. He was not at work today as he's looking for $15 million a season to be the Buffalo Bills running back. Sean McDermott had an update on him not coming to work today. Wasn't because he was drunk from over the weekend. And then he also talked about a guy who is just hurt again.

Listen to this. This is Sean McDermott on James Cook. All but James are here and accounted for. Joey Bosa will not participate today. He pulled a calf.

I believe it was late last week, Thursday, I believe. And so he'll be out for more than likely the foreseeable springtime at least. And then we'll get into training camp. Should be good to go by training camp.

Oh, man. James Cook is out here looking for the bread. He's looking for $15 million a year, are you? Saquon is making 20. Christian McCaffrey is making 19. Jonathan Taylor is out here at at 14. Derrick Henry, he just got paid as well.

And I understand James Cook had 18 combined touchdowns last year. If you're going to go for some bread, if you're going to try to get a contract extension and make some money, now would be the time to go out there and do so. You want to make more money than Derrick Henry? Derrick Henry is just getting a pay increase, OK? You're making $8 million a year. Now, Derrick Henry's making 12. You're asking for 15?

I understand. Shoot for the stars. He even put this on social media on an Instagram Live that he was looking for 15.

Good luck with that one. I think the Buffalo Bills would tell him to take a hike in another year before they go out there and pay him 15 mil. I'd be telling him, go out there, man, and do it again.

Actually come back and earn your money in a second consecutive year. He's not the only person that didn't show up for their job. Kirk Cousins, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, was not present at Atlanta Falcons OTAs. I guess Kirk Cousins is, I don't think he's hanging out in Cleveland anymore.

Looks like all those jobs are pretty much occupied. And so earlier today, Raheem Morris, the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, he was asked about Kirk Cousins, maybe, possibly the future quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, maybe. Raheem Morris was asked about Kirk and Raheem Morris had a very simple answer. I did not see him today and I didn't go out to practice, but he did not show up in the meeting.

So I did not see him today. Yeah. What else? What else is new? Who knows what Kirk Cousins is just waiting on somebody to get hurt or maybe waiting on Aaron Rodgers to show up and then having to wait on, unfortunately, somebody to get hurt. Apparently, Aaron Rodgers, if you didn't hear it over the weekend, he has some advice or he, no, he has some thoughts I should say on where he might end up. He was doing a podcast and he was asked about his future. He was talking to a Bears fan. A little girl asked him if we would ever see him playing for the Chicago Bears. A little girl asked this and Aaron Rodgers gave a little bit of a hint that he would be playing in Chicago, but on another team.

Listen to this. Will Aaron Rodgers ever go to the Bears? Oh boy. Can security, can we get her out of here?

Can you take it easy on her? No, but I believe there's a team that might play in Chicago this year. What team? Road trip. I don't know. Not sure. Got to check it out.

Are you speaking in code? I love Chicago though. Way more than they love me. It's been a great relationship all one way. Yeah, this man, Aaron Rodgers is throwing out hints here that he's going to be on the Steelers. It's just a matter of when. And just to be real, why would he show up to work right now? He's probably like, Hey, I'm, I'm over 40. I don't need to be out here sweating with these guys. I'll show up in July.

Leave me alone. That's what the vets do. Aaron Rodgers very into himself. That's what he would definitely do instead of working.

I don't know. Throwing the ball around more, getting acclimated to his, uh, unknown number two wide receiver. We'll see what Aaron Rodgers does or how long it will take him to show up for work. And someone who is at Steelers, uh, camp and OTAs, I guess he has no choice cause he's not Aaron Rodgers. Mason Rudolph is back in the Steelers uniform. Mason Rudolph who played for the Tennessee Titans last year, alongside Will Levis.

What a terrible combination that is and was. He threw nine touchdowns and nine interceptions last year. The Steeler fans do not want to see this man. He was asked about all the noise, knowing that as it stands right now, he is the starting quarterback.

Kirk Cousins could be the quarterback if Aaron Rodgers doesn't show up. Mason Rudolph is just like, man, I'm used to all of this. I'm a backup. Well, that's nothing new to me. I've, I've, I've, there's been constant noise that that is the nature of the NFL.

So I am been used to that for a long time now. I'm do nothing but, um, you know, be the best I can be and, and, and help our team help our team get better this spring. Yeah, I've been nothing, but let's just say it together. A backup and he will be a backup. There's no way in hell barring a catastrophe that he's going to be the starting quarterback for the Steelers. Not, not happening.

Not at all. 8-8-8-7-10-4-I-S-N. That's 8-8-8-7-10-4-I-S-N. Man, this is, there's certain things in sports that you can not avoid. They have the red panda at the Pacers game. She is flipping the bowls and the plates and what have you onto her head while she is on the unicycle. This woman has been doing this for the past, I feel like 40 years.

God bless her. I don't know if she's going to one day pass this on to somebody else, but, uh, and she's out there in Indianapolis doing it and then she's out there kicking plates and bowls. That means it's halftime. Right now the Pacers lead the New York Knicks is 69-64. There's been a lot of conversations about playing defense and who plays defense.

Uh, nobody is playing defense. Tyrese Halliburton leading the way for the Pacers. He has 20 points in the first half. Almost already has a triple double.

Listen to these numbers. 20 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds for Tyrese Halliburton. It's the first half of the game. Pascal Siakam with 13. Aaron Kneesmith who was dealing with a sprained ankle.

We didn't know if he was going to go. He has 12 points to a four shooting. I guess whatever they shot in his ankle, he feels okay. I've seen him look healthier one time in his life and it was at the end of game one. Oh, Kneesmith knocking down the threes.

Yeah. Carl Anthony towns. He got hot here in this second quarter. 14 points. Jalen Brunson with 16. And Tom Thibodeau tapping into the bench.

How about this? Josh Hart, 20 minutes, seven points to go along with seven rebounds. So this game is definitely going to finish after we get out of here. 69-64 are the Pacers lead the New York Knicks. 888-710-4ISN.

That's 888-710-4ISN. We're going to take a break when we come back. I do want to give you an update on someone special who is at the Pacers game.

And I guess it's a, I don't want to say a tale of two cities, but there's always a negative and there's a positive. We got one Pacers fan today who was treated like a king in the city. We have another Pacers fan. Well, well damn it.

I can't say he was treated like a criminal, but he was because he committed a criminal act. There's certain things that sometimes fans just take a little too far. I'll explain on the other side of the break. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.

We have, oh, so much more to do. You're locked in. It's the JR sport re-show coast to coast on the infinity sports network. It is the JR sport re-show coast to coast on the infinity sports network. The Pacers lead the Knicks at halftime 69-64. The Pacers are trying to take a 3-1 series lead. Keep you up to date on this game as it continues on as we continue rolling here with the JR sport re-show.

8-8-8-7-10-4-I-S-N. That's 8-8-8-7-10-4-I-S-N. Hey, you know what? Earlier in the show, I want to say a big thank you again. That's to Scott Doctorman for joining us. Covers all things college football, but for the athletic. We discussed what might ultimately be a new playoff model. We know that we no longer will go with the automatic bids for the conference championships.

And that's good. We might expand to a 16-team model. We might have eight teams from the SEC and then also the Big Ten participating. And so it seems like we're going to potentially even get more of a market correction from what we've already received. I thought it was enough to remove these conference championships getting buys, but it looks like the SEC and the Big Ten want to flex a little bit more of their muscle.

If you missed that conversation with Scott Doctorman, go ahead and hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. But one thing that has changed, obviously in college sports, is the ability for the players to go out here and make money. Like he brought it out. I remember, I remember when he said it, it was at the final four. It was at a championship.

And I remember being right there when Shabazz Napier talked about not being able to eat at night. He's a college student. He don't have no money. And then they're not allowing him to go out there and work. It sounds criminal. There's a reason why they can make money. It was one of the most ridiculous things ever that you could have. It's just preventing someone by working. I don't know. It's just a lot of garbage, but we're past that.

Now we just have to figure out a way and a structure where the athletes can get a little bit more a piece of the pie. And so last year, I don't, I'm not into the games. As a matter of fact, I've never played this game ever. EA Sports, College Football 26. It was brought back last year and we had players who were able to opt in and they were paid $600 to have their name, image and likeness displayed in the video game. You would think that $600 for all things considered is a paltry sum. Well, I guess it is because EA Sports is now bumping things up just a little bit. The players will now make double that, more than double that. Last year they made $600 to be in the video game. Now they will make $1,500 to be included. They get $1,500. They get the deluxe edition of the game.

And then God only knows how much some of the ambassadors will receive by participating. One thing that we did learn in here today, we saw the two cover athletes of which there are many athletes, but they're really two dudes who are front and center. That's Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams. And they were sat down or they sat down with EA and talked about being a part of the video game.

I know that they made more than $1,500 to show up. Let's take a listen to what they had to say about being cover stars. They brought in some big talent to be on this cover as well.

The Tim Teves of the world, the Reggie Bushes. Let's take a listen to this. Being on the cover is just like, it's outstanding. It's just, it's a feeling that's unexplainable. To be on the cover of college football, it means a lot.

Something that I dreamed of as a kid growing up. It's just a blessing to be here in a room full of great talent around the country. Legends like Tim Teves and Reggie Bushes being here, talking to them guys and just being their presence is a blessing for sure. Wow. Yeah, they sound, Chris, they sound real excited, don't they, huh? Yeah, this is Chris Percion here on the JR Sport Brief. And man, am I, I'm so excited to have this opportunity here today. Yeah, look, they, they, they got paid.

That's, that's all they pretty much care about. And I'm sure it's fun, you know, see yourself in a video game moving into another season and we don't know how much money they got paid, but as ambassadors, I know it was a heck of a lot more than $1,500. I have never played this game in my life. Even before they kind of put it on the shelf for a bit. Have you played college football, the series at all?

Yeah, I have. A lot of, a lot of running the rock going on there. Some of the quarterbacks, not exactly the most versatile. What is the most interesting thing about this game? Because people, people rave about this game.

What makes this different than anything else? I would say the most interesting thing about the college football video game franchise is definitely and easily the opportunity to become the person in charge of a program. You can play the games as the coach, but during the off seasons you're recruiting, you're sending texts, you're sending limos for guys trying to get these players. So I think fans often find that they, you know, are quick to complain about the extent to which their favorite school does or does not recruit players. But this actually lets every sports fan do what they love to do.

If it's from their couch, just say, oh, well I could have gotten that rebound. Well, you're going to go get that five star. Come show us. So it's more than, it's more than just the actual game play as I assume the game play doesn't change at all. It's just, I guess the outside bells and whistles that make things interesting. Yeah. And they took the game engine from Madden, so it's the same game as Madden.

Like if you're playing college football just for the football, just get Madden. They put more energy into that anyway. Oh, okay.

All right. Well, I've, I've never played this game a day in my life, so good for them making money. I'm happy for them. Maybe they'll make more.

I don't know if they're happy for them, but it's good that you are. Well, apparently EA Sports is shelling out about $17 million just towards every single college football player. And the players have the opportunity to either opt in or opt out. You know, last year Arch Manning was just like, uh, no, you're going to have to pay me more than this.

And they, they were able to do a deal. Uh, but for the layman, I mean, Hey, it's a free 600 bucks to be in the video game, but why the hell not? Now the players will get 1500. It's going to cost EA about 17 million bucks.

And God knows that they're going to make a whole hell of a lot more, but there's $17 million with this game. The New York Knicks and the Pacers time really super flies. They are already back in action. The Pacers off to a hot start here in the third, about three minutes have already gone by the Pacers lead the Knicks 76 to 64. Now I did tell you earlier in the break or before we got back that sometimes you got two sides of a coin and sometimes you got the good and you got the bad with the Pacers. We talked about John Halliburton being let back into the arena to go ahead and cheer on his son.

I don't know, maybe he's energizing his kids tonight. Tyrese Halliburton, 20 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, almost had a triple double in the first half alone. Tyrese Halliburton you might recall. He did something rather nice. There was that New York, well, he wasn't a Knicks fan. There was a Pacers fan who happened to be near Madison square garden after the Knicks advanced to the Eastern conference finals.

You don't have nothing to do with that. This gentleman's name is Jan Perez. Hans Perez, excuse me. They threw trash at this man. Tyrese Halliburton was nice enough to get him tickets to tonight's game, fly him from New York to Indianapolis. This man got off the airplane and the Pacers greeted him off of the plane. He is getting red carpet treatment all the way through.

He's been documented on social media. It's not like the Pacers woke up and said, Hey, we're just gonna, you know, here's your ticket. We'll pay for your Uber and pay for your hotel and get you the hell out of town.

No, they're making this an entire experience. So, uh, Hans Perez now is getting a lot of love. He's getting a lot of love in India. Now they treating this guy like a king.

Meanwhile, I told you there's two sides to a coin. Hans Perez is a, I guess he's a good Pacers fan. Marco, if you're a firefighter and, but why would a firefighter in New York be a Pacers fan? What's wrong with this guy? You know, I was wondering that. I don't know.

I really, I don't have an answer for that. He might be a good guy, but he's an interesting fellow, which is nice. So good for him. He got himself a ticket to the game, but he had to have trash thrown at him in the process. This is the type of fan that you don't want to be. And I don't care if it's a Pacers or whatever. This is a bad Pacers fan.

I want you to take a listen to this clip from W T H R in Indianapolis. It's a man is now under arrest, accused of stabbing a man and harassing another at a brewery in Carmel last week. So this all stemmed from a fight while the three were watching game two of the Eastern conference finals between the Pacers and the Knicks. Now, according to court documents, 24 year old Jarrett funk of Carmel started harassing two Knicks fans during the game. A short time later, the two Knicks fans say they walked outside and the suspect followed attacking them and then stabbing one man in the back tonight. He's charged with battery and disorderly conduct. Marco was that you think that guy was drunk or was he sober?

I'm going to go with drunk. Like we, we stab an opposition at the bars. Is the Pacers Knicks robbery that deep? You got to stab somebody. You know, look, I've been around sports my whole life as most of us, and probably I'm everybody listening. You love it. You're, you're in tune to it. It's something that it's, it's in your blood and you don't even know why sometimes stabbing people over a game, what the hell is wrong with you?

I mean, I don't care how drunk you are, bra reassess. You're stabbing people because of the game that's going on. Stop it.

This is how you want to ruin your life. Ridiculous. Yeah. What did he say?

He was 23, 24 years old. I mean, come on now. You have no control of your emotions that you're going to get that upset and you wind up stabbing people.

And we talked about location being a key part of the, the situation, the brewery. It's not like they had this argument at church. That would make it worse.

Wouldn't it? No. Uh, probably. I don't think you're supposed to watch TV at church and yeah, you're definitely not supposed to stab people at church. I think that's, that's forbidden.

Well, I was going to say there's no church going on during the basketball game anyway, but that's not true either. Um, yeah. I feel wrong letting Marco talk to you, JR, not knowing the violence you were inciting earlier against the elderly. Oh, well Marco knows. Marco knows I push old people across the street every now and then I find an old lady and I push them. I got a problem with that. That was very loud. Yeah.

Marco Marco's familiar. He knows about that. That's different.

That's balanced. We're talking about sports. It is. Yeah. Yeah.

Marco. But uh, we'll see. There ain't no different than people getting concussed and knocked silly at Dodger's games and what have you. Uh, but I, again, I don't want to get on the soapbox, but like it almost gets to the point where it's like you wonder with the ridiculous prices and then you got to fear for your safety because somebody who's drunk might wind up, you know, stabbing me or knocking me out if I'm, I mean this was at a bar, but either way, but like we find this out at games too. Like can we just watch the damn game and actually be excited and not fear that someone's going to then stab me in the neck?

Like what the hell's going on? Wasn't it at a, didn't somebody punch somebody in kilts? Wasn't that a, a Patriots game?

Remember that? Somebody got punched and the guys, I think he hit the ground and you know, you hit your head sometimes it can be fatal. Um, yeah.

Look, I just, old, young, it doesn't matter. Yeah. But like sports is not supposed to be like, it's almost like a jail fight now.

I'm going to get shivved because I'm a Nick fan going up again. What the hell just happened here? Well, we see it in Europe. I mean they got plenty of shivves over there.

So we see it at the soccer matches. Maybe this guy, well no, he wasn't catching up. He's just, just drunk. Just drunk. Unfortunately. Hey, good luck to the guy who got stabbed.

Okay. One guy gets trashed. The Knicks fans are throwing trash at the Pacers fan. The Pacers fans are now, you know, stabbing up Nick fans. Maybe we need to get this series over with sooner than later. And uh, the way things are looking right now, I know the Knicks do a lot of coming back from, you know, being down, but we may have some things finishing sooner than later. It's the JR support preshow here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. When we come back, we're going to start to wrap things up. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. But right now you just heard his face. It's time for a newsflash. What's going on in the entire world of sports. It is the JR sport B show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. Man is a Kansas city chiefs legend right there.

And Tony Gonzalez played forever. Great guy too. Nice guy.

888-710-4ISN. You want to give me a holler? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I'll be back tomorrow at 6 PM Eastern, 3 Pacific. Right now in Indianapolis, the Pacers lead the New York Knicks 85 to 77. And when it comes to both of these teams, we know that there's never a game out of reach. You've seen the Knicks bounce back from 20 points. I know that they don't want to have to do this every single game, but I think we all know do not close the door at all on the New York Knicks. I know the pace of fans are happy as they're trying to go up three one on the Knicks. 888-710-4ISN.

That's 888-710-4ISN. We've talked about a lot that took place today in the world of sports OTAs who didn't show up to work. Guys like James Cook and TJ Watt. Unfortunately got Joey Bosa hurt again. He just got to the team. And we're just in a different space in a different world. He went from one coast to another one. And he's just you still hurt.

He can't he can't help himself. Let's go to the phone lines before we jump into a few things that took place this day in sports history. Mark is here from California on the JR Sport Brief Show. What's up, Mark? JR, what's going on? How are you? Shoot.

I'm doing good. So this next pacer game, man, the announcing is just driving me crazy. Like I understand Reggie played for Indiana, but it's every single play. He's like, Indiana, did this on the offensive boards?

Indiana needs to do this in order to win the game. I'm like, you shut up. Why are they having him announce the Indiana game? Like we already sat through it last year and it was so boring because he's not biased at all.

Never congratulate the Knicks on anything. And then the other dude is just sitting there and just spewing nonsense against the Knicks. Are you watching the game or have you watched any of it in terms of the announcing?

The other. Do you see me here on the right? How am I listen to the game and then be on a radio at the same time? Mark, come on. I don't know if you're on it every day, but have you watched any of the Nick Taser series? No, Mark, not not watching any basketball. Mark, you listen to the show. Have you heard me talk about how I don't, I don't listen to announcers. You heard me say that before? No, I've never heard you say that. Oh yeah. I've said that at various points over the past, I don't know.

Couple of years. No, I'm not, I don't listen. I don't listen. Like I'm, I want to watch the game. Like I'm not interested in what they say.

I mean, I can pretty much look at the stats and numbers. I'm either watching the game at home and doing a million other things while the game is going on. I may have music going on in the background or I may be outside at a bar and I'm not at the bar listening to what any announcer says. I don't, I don't, for me, nothing is being added. There's no additional insight. Like we re we really got to go deep into X's and O's and, and that's not what they do on the television broadcast. So outside of trying to have a better understanding of where a call is going or whether a guy is hurt or not, I don't care. I don't, I don't hear Reggie Miller. It don't matter to me.

Yeah. I'm just literally muting the television and just watching the game from now on. But I have a question too. Who is your basketball team? I don't think I've ever asked that and I don't think you ever said it, but which team do you root for? Man, let me tell you, when you actually work with the teams, it's, it's very different.

Growing up in New York, I was a fan of the New York Knicks. I work very closely now with the Atlanta Hawks and it's, it's different when you peel back the curtain a little bit. I don't care in the same way that you might care or somebody else. I really don't.

I just look for the best storylines at this point. Yeah. You know what I mean? Over the years, it's like, you know, being a Knicks fan has, I have to have my blood pressure medication next to me. I have to have my EpiPen. You know what I mean?

Just cause it's like, we never, we never win the whole game. We just talked about one Knicks fan who had garbage. Well, we had a Pacers fan who had garbage thrown at him.

And then we just talked about another Pacers fan who wanted to stab some Knicks fans. So as long as you don't go ahead and become violent, I think you're okay, Mark. Okay. Yeah, for sure. Thanks, Darrin.

Thank you for calling from California. Hey folks, it's the end of the show. You know what that means? It's time for a few things that took place this day in sports history. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore. But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history.

Back in those days, we had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and we liked it. On the JR Sport Brief Show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass.

May 27th, the year is 2025. If we go back in time to 1968, Papa Bear. Oh, George Hallis. He retired. This is the man who founded the Chicago Bears. He coached the Bears for about four decades. He won six NFL titles. Yes, NFL titles, not Super Bowls.

324 total wins. This man is one of the founding fathers of the NFL flat and buried, not just the Bears. A matter of fact, he was part of the leagues for the Pro Football Leagues, the Hall of Fame, their inaugural class while he was still active in 1963. I want you to take a listen to this bio via the Pro Football Hall of Fame and then you'll hear George at the end talk about what football has meant to him in his life. From his playing days to his coaching years, George Hallis's influence spanned the NFL's first half century. Affectionately known as Papa Bear, Hallis coached Chicago to six NFL titles and he is regarded as the founding father of Pro Football. Just being a part of the growth of the national football, that to me is the greatest thrill or event in my life.

Yeah, football was good. The bear, we could thank him for the Bears and a lot more. Hey, May 27th, 1981, the doctor, Dr. J, excuse me, Julius Irving, he won an NBA MVP award. It was his only NBA MVP award. He also happened to be the first dude to get one or multiple MVPs in the ABA and then come over to the NBA and get one there as well. 1981, 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks to a game for the great doctor. Someone who's very appreciative of him is another former sixer. His name, Charles Barkley. Listen to Sir Charles talk about the doctor. Dr. J is probably in more highlights than any player in NBA history.

It's a very short list. Let me say that if they had sports center like they do today, Dr. J would be the top one of the top 10 players, like every night. I mean, that's how, that's how I cut it. I mean, he made a play every game and I was at a different time, but he would be on that sports center top 10 all the time. Nowadays, we know the doctor and he's just smooth, smooth dude.

Shouts to Dr. J right here in Georgia. Now hanging out and those are a few things that took place this day in sports history. It's been made 27th all day long. If we think about what's going on in the world of sports right now, this minute, this second in Indianapolis, the Pacers still trying to keep some distance here. Oh, this day in sports history, we're done with that. The Pacers lead the Knicks 91 to 84. I told you about Tyrese Halliburton having completely lost his mind tonight. 25 points to go along with 13 assists, 8 rebounds. He's lighting it up from deep, a 4 of 9 from downtown. Pascal Siakam getting hot again with 19 points of the New York Knicks. They're going to need somebody besides Brunson and Karl Anthony Townsend to step up. Mikel Bridges, a poor shooting night, 8 points, 3 of 9 from the field. OG Ananobi, a 13 points.

He is 0 of 5 from downtown. And so by the time we come back tomorrow, we will know if the Knicks are in a deeper hole. The Pacers have taken a 3-1 lead. And then we'll also get you all set and ready as we might have a team advancing to the NBA Finals. Hey, the Oklahoma City Thunder won victory away, tomorrow potentially, from advancing to the NBA Finals. Thank you so much for tuning into the show tonight.

You can always hit rewind on the free Odyssey app if you've missed a minute, you've missed a second. You can find me online everywhere at JR Sportbree. We had a great chat. Thank you so much to Scott Doctorman, who covers all things college football from the athletic for coming through to join us. We talked about Kaitlyn Clark. We got into OTAs. One thing I'm sure that will not happen tomorrow, Aaron Rodgers.

I'm sure that he's not going to show up anywhere and sign anything. Find me online everywhere at JR Sportbree. I'll be back with you tomorrow, 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Thank you to Scott. Thank you to Chris.
