Oh yeah it's definitely that. I feel like many of us we are ready to move forward. Flash forward into a weekend. Flash forward into oh my goodness the start of July which comes up early next week. It's July 4th week so a lot of people will be on vacation.

Judging by some of the traffic in the New York City metro the last couple of days people already on vacation are already taking their summer liberties which is awesome. I know that I got a little cranky with the talk of the World Cup. I just I still have flashbacks of them missing the World Cup in 2018 and how disappointing that was and how I didn't watch U.S. soccer for a year and now it's finally on our own soil. We don't even have to qualify and if it's a flop that may be it. I may decide no more supporting U.S. soccer. Last chance? Sure last chance. This better be your best and greatest performance on the World Cup stage after all we've heard after all the coaching changes after the we're raising the standards we're going to be more aggressive we're going to change the style of play and it just feels like more of the same. That's what it feels like. I think that's fair to if you're on your last chance with them I mean how many are they going to get?

I don't know. I just keep hoping. Of course you do because we're supposed to be great at every sport we think in this U.S.

Team USA but in soccer it just doesn't seem to they don't seem to take the steps forward with the U.S. Men's National Team. A lot of times it feels like one step forward two steps back. It does. Okay well that game in Atlanta got dwarfed by other things in Atlanta on Thursday night. What else you might have missed I actually find it amusing and I'm sure people will talk about it once we get back to the NBA and really more to the point when LeBron James exercises his right to free agency which is expected to happen well then this becomes a little more of a story again but the fact that LeBron's son got drafted by the Lakers in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday and it was hey and then nothing.

There's only so many events that could do that. I feel like also it's like the basketball community has been waiting or like watching for this moment for I don't know five six years. Brawny Tracker and then it finally happened and did you say Brawny Tracker? The Brawny Tracker has been out for years now.

Like a bad old mobile a Brawny Tracker. So right it happens and it's just bad timing. Immediately overshadowed. Immediately overshadowed and if that wasn't enough evidence that a lot of what happened in sports yesterday really got overshadowed. How about the fact that Kaitlyn Clark plays immediately on the heels of the debate and I this might be the one game this season when the ratings don't do squat. When it's back to the old WNBA.

Yeah I don't think you're gonna fight the debate. Jay and I will be completely forthright in telling you that we didn't even know she was playing. Totally forgot. It was halfway through the game before I saw someone tweet about it. I was reading other things on Twitter kind of doing some stuff you know show prep to change my mental state and I end up seeing oh my gosh they're in the second quarter. I didn't even know she was playing. So yeah between Brawny getting drafted and Kaitlyn Clark playing you wouldn't have yeah you wouldn't have even known.

The headlines were so tepid and the reaction was so tepid but that's why you have us. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence. It is a Friday morning. Happy Friday to you. We did a little football Friday earlier and here we are getting back to basketball and it's yeah it's going to be a really crazy stretch for the NBA. This is kind of when they get into their silly silly silly portion of their silly season. Coming on the heels of the draft, free agency opens officially this weekend and there are some big names. LeBron James we just talked about.

Paul George. Of course Lawrence Frank and anyone in the Clippers front office has been answering questions about Paul George based on what he's talked about. There are names like James Harden who I wondered you know the reaction might even be less than what we've seen in in past years even though we still see flashes of brilliance from him but I don't know how many more chances he gets in the NBA and who knows whether or not he remains with the Clippers and so there's a lot of big names. Klay Thompson the reports out there and take it with a grain of salt because this could very well be his agent floating a report out there so that it gets picked up and it looks like it's competition for any other potential suitor but the report that I read on Thursday is a two-year deal with 50 million dollars from the Orlando Magic. If that's the price tag it feels like the Golden State Warriors could match that. No disrespect to the Orlando Magic but that's one of the worst teams in the league. Hey not if your boy Klay is on it. It might be completely different. Anyway so those are some of the names and those are some of the storylines the headlines heading into free agency but that's not it we're gonna see money fly around like it's coming out of a out of a bank and a game of monopoly and then you've got the NHL draft on Friday night although Jay pointed out to me it's at the sphere in Las Vegas that insane piece of technology where you two played while we were there for the Super Bowl that was going on while we were there yeah that's right and then drop through the middle you can see it so clearly from the air so both of us flying in and out you can see it so clearly it's a landmark it's an amazing piece of technology in the form of a sphere and so that's where the NHL is holding its draft on a Friday night though kind of odd almost like they don't want anyone to know what's happening not great not great except that it's at the sphere maybe that was the only time the sphere was available you have to book it two years in advance it's the only time the sphere is available I know the Eagles the band already booked a residency there they're booked up for months the sphere exactly months I'll bet they're booked up for years probably yeah so the NHL just slot us in on a Friday it's like people getting married on Wednesdays now slot us in on a Wednesday we'll take whatever you got if you're having Rogers's friend that's true wait just as a pause there I know we're going to talk about the what's happening this weekend and next week but you and I going back to the Aaron Rogers thing you you had told me we'd had this whole dialogue about how Aaron's on vacation on a European vacation and I said to you no bleeping way you cannot schedule a vacation when your team has its mandatory OTAs you're the starting quarterback you freaking played four snaps last year how dare you book a vacation during mandatory OTA so to me there's no way he said that if I don't play well next year everybody with the Jets could lose their jobs there's no way he booked a vacation and so that kind of died down and OTAs ended and I don't know if it was Memorial Day or whatever something happened and it it buried the lead and then I started reading that in fact it was exactly that whether it was an ayahuasca retreat again whether it was some other all natural drug or substance again Jay we're not we can't we can't ever prove it but you were certainly right about the reports that he was just on a freaking vacation it's gonna be hard to cancel what if Aaron Rogers could only get this one particular week for his ayahuasca retreat they were booked for years in advance there's no way he's mr ayahuasca they have they would make an exception for him ayahuasca why can't you just mix your own ayahuasca was it was it breaking bad all about some teacher who decided he would he would become a meth guy yeah and do his own meth lab hey made his own meth I mean why can't Aaron Rogers just make his own ayahuasca I guess he's not a scientist I mean I wouldn't put it past him though well I mean do you think that teacher was really qualified to make it so he was yeah Walter Walter White yes anyway that just it triggered something because I thought well maybe Aaron Rogers was trying to go somewhere uh darkness ayahuasca the mountains of Tibet I don't know I'm going to my darkness retreat and there was only one slot available and it happened to be the week of mandatory OTAs maybe he was learning from a Tibetan monk you never know maybe but I still don't think it excuses but you have to do it was unexcused right I guess I just can't get over that I'm gonna choose to believe he's not that unclassy and not that bad of a leader well he's the one who always says no distractions we gotta get right to work my point exactly um yeah the first time it's time to go to work where he has to be at work he's not at work maybe that's why he was in all the voluntary OTAs because he realized the mandatory one he's gonna miss does that negate going to all the the voluntary OTAs if you miss the one that you have to be at I just think there's no way you can do that to your team after you missed all of last season and then you decide ah you know what it's it's the middle of of the summer I'm what's the difference I've missed so much time what's what's another week what's another week in the darkness anyway I just wanted to tell you that I did in fact see all of those reports I don't know if they're confirmed or not who knows where he was I guess I don't really care that much only to say that I had the same reaction no freaking way I still had that reaction but you were right that there are reports out there that he was on vacation made sense to me he slotted in the only time that the tibetan monk had available ridiculous thing that it could have been it would probably was the war I was leading that's it that's a safe way to go there from from now on it's tibetan monk for me that's what it is he was he was learning how to be zen I could honestly see him doing that more absolutely I could more zen uh the tibetan monk was only available that week back to the nhl draft box breathing only available at the sphere on friday night june 28th that's it they only had that date available take it or leave it we need you to pause it right now so you've got the drafts free agency july 4th and then boom days later we've got the first rookies reporting for nfl training camp that's crazy as in seriously crazy poor baseball just gets the shaft over and over again uh as for baseball maybe right now people would prefer we're not talking about the phillies but they got a one-two punch last night with the the two hottest hitters right now for the phillies bryce harper and kyle schwarber a big reason why they had such a great month of june except that bryce get injured or gets injured on the final play of the game against the marlins last night marlins win that's really not the important part uh and bryce is gonna have testing today i've never had really any soft tissue injury besides my elbow so i'm gonna see like i said what imaging looks like tomorrow and um you know go from there uh i mean i don't know i don't really like i said i haven't really felt anything like this before um so if i had something to go back on i would you know let you know but i've never felt anything like this well that's not what phillies fans want to hear that he's never felt anything like this he grabbed his hammy as he's running to first base he ends up falling down when he gets past the base again outcome of the game i'm not even sure that matters right now to phillies fans because of the fact that this is bryce harper he ends up limping straight to the tunnel and then uh into the clubhouse to get checked out so that's one round of testing the phillies have to go through today but also kyle schwarber and the fact that he's dealing with soreness in his groin groin groin everything just kind of grabbed and uh they wanted to get me out of their precautionary wise and uh treated it and we're gonna see how it feels tomorrow and uh go from there but um you know personally hopefully not i don't think it's going to be super serious and hopefully uh see how we come in tomorrow and see how it feels asking for a friend because i don't know how this feels jay have you ever had a groin grab i don't i don't think so no not when you're kayaking uh biking a groin grab no no growing grab disc golf regular golf no no i'm pretty limber walking moose no he's a walk too fast maybe he's had a groin grab no growing grab i've yeah i've not he used it as a verb my groin grabbed my my obvious answer would be my obvious response is what did the groin grab also it's awkward groin grab i don't like it i don't like it at all it grabbed it grabbed out six to ten days with groin grab i don't know that's worse than soleus well soleus at least is a real thing it's just that it's a body part that no one ever heard of yeah until about four months ago a soleus grab a groin grab a hammy grab a hammy grab my hammy grabbed no actually you grabbed your hammy it didn't grab you you grabbed it i came out because i had a tight hammy now see that sounds so much more normal than my my groin grabbed no it grabbed me all right mad max get back to whatever you were doing please resume i'm not trying to make light of the fact that both schwarber and harper ended up with muscles that were grabbing them growing no but the grab part is the funny groin grabbed it grabbed have i lost my mind no seriously that's a that's a question have i lost my mind i think i might have a mind grab something grabbed my mind the debate grabbed my mind anyway i don't i'm who knows why who knows why i fell down that rabbit hole i grabbed it grabbed schwarber and harper let's get back to business here schwarber and harper for the first place fillies this is something that they'll be watching uh just to be careful as for the yankees and the blue jays they got the best man it was a shot by george pringer they got the best of the yankees last night and that's great for the blue jays and all it's june so we don't need to be scoreboard watching but man the yankees all of a sudden are in free fall so you it's crazy how teams go up and then they go down and then they go up and then they go down in major league baseball there's so much real estate in a regular season 162 games we've seen before a team could be 12 games out of the standings and somehow win a world series washington nationals just hasn't happened since then so yeah i don't want to make too much of standings at the end of june only that on this morning friday june 28th the baltimore orioles are barely in first place in the al east because the yankees are backpedaling they've lost 11 of 13 it's a mess right now even though erin judge is still hitting it's like nobody else is hitting and carlos rodon gives up another seven plus earned runs it's it's a disaster erin boone still sounds so cheerful though these are little things in the season that suck right now but that also make me feel continue to feel really good about this group and where we're going you know we'll look back in this time and it'll be something that's that i know is going to be end up being good for us i would agree with the adversity it just does constantly blow me away that you've got a baseball season that's long enough for a team to have an explosive month like what are the grimace right now 500 did you see them all playing in the rain recently oh yes yes yes in their purple and costumes and multiple grimaces running around drinking a lot of alcohol yeah grimaces everywhere we're grimacing everywhere so the nets they're on a tear now they were in a pretty big hole so they haven't yet uh gotten above 500 but they're back to 500 right they're back to 500 and we've seen other teams drop and then rise and then drop and then rise so i know yankees fans panic they're very panicky and maybe oriole fans were a little bit nervous at the beginning of the season but teams deal with injuries and they just have to keep playing and you never know what could happen we're in it to win it but at this moment the cleveland guardians have the best record in the national or in the american league excuse me in the phillies they've got the best record in the national league though the dodgers are encroaching which is also crazy because they don't have mookie bets although i guess if you lose one mvp and you have two more behind them well maybe it's not as big a deal all right i feel like we should take that segment out of the podcast i don't know that there was anything worthy in there anything um jay wasn't even listening he's too busy trying to think about what a groin grab feels like no i don't want to know what that feels like yeah that was a that was a segment jay something anything redeeming about that segment uh we've you know round rogers might have been at a retreat true not a great leader clarified that four snaps i could regurgitate all right we'll talk about brawny we'll talk about caitlin clark because i feel like a lot of people missed it on thursday on thursday night uh also if you missed my conversation with sean grandy good stuff from the longtime play-by-play voice of the boston celtics tying a bow on their championship because it was a week ago friday that they celebrated with the duck boat parade and just like we talked about with bill lindsey the longtime analyst and former florida panther how the stanley cup was a family affair for him getting five minutes to hold it over his head to share with his father who's in hospice care that was really the the climax and the the culmination of this journey for him that's what will matter to him forever as a longtime panther and you know an analyst that's seen the worst the bleak years and now has got the stanley cup well for sean grandy the last time the celtics won a championship he wasn't a dad and now he is and got to go on a duck boat with his son jack who's become kind of a cult hero just the the latest videos that have been posted of the celtics radio network and their calls so if you like family stories it's a good one and we tie a bow on the celtics and look ahead to what's to come even as the rest of the nba is moving on in the draft good morning to you it's after hours with amy lawrence you are listening to the after hours podcast with the 55th pick in the 2024 nba draft the los angeles lakers select brawny james from the university of southern california to be able to be out there and play the game you know with your son and with your dad as a kid without a father or something that uh that would have been a dream come true this is after hours with amy lawrence amy lawrence the voice of one lebron james and we know his story well and he has been a father who is very active who's very present dotes on his kids uh two sons and a daughter with his wife and i love the fact that he now can see his son realize his dream now there's a lot of layers to this but if you just look at it father and son what a moment and potentially unique history it's after hours with amy lawrence good friday morning to you this was yeah it was a weird atmosphere for the second round of the nba draft they moved it it wasn't in brooklyn at barkley center there weren't any fans there other people around it's a media covered event of course but just very different and if you're talking about la lakers fans who are watching to see what happens with pick number 55 it's what 1 30 in the afternoon in la when this takes place but they had to move it because of the debate meanwhile the nhl went ahead and held its awards such they gave it a shot two completely different philosophies for those winter sports so brawny gets drafted number 55 and he's with his family in kind of their their draft party and his brother his younger brother bryce captures it on insta select brawny james after investing billions to light up our network t mobile is america's largest 5g network plus right now you can switch keep your phone speaker or in the car with android auto or apple carplay that's pretty cool now right on the heels of that i actually took it off because i i didn't love it but right on the heels of that you can hear the tv in the background starting to talk about his cardiac episode and his cardiac arrest and the family and whoever's there in the room i don't know who it was it kind of off mic at that point starts complaining leave it let it go but that's right away one of the the issues that people will talk about the lakers draft the son of lebron james even though he played only a half a season in college there are greater motives here and i don't believe the lakers at all are worried about hiding them now do they believe that lebron's son could be a smart intelligent player do they believe he's got all the pedigree and all the iq well yeah and were there some positive moments sure but there's a reason why he was still there at 55 and the lakers didn't have to to trade to move to be able to draft him 55th overall it's after hours with amy lawrence so rob palinka of course he answered questions about it i think it's telltale when he gets to the idea of lebron and his son playing together in the nba brawny is um first and foremost a person of high character and second he is a young man that works incredibly hard and those are the qualities we look for in drafting players and adding to our developmental core at the lakers he had a great draft workout with us where he displayed those qualities to me in a our lunch that we shared in the building just to get to know each other became clear that he was a man of character it's an honor for us to add him to our program coach reddick is already excited about putting a development plan around him coach reddick to increase his basketball skills and turn him into the player that we think can impact and help this franchise every single time i hear it i get distracted by coach reddick coach reddick every single time i'm not used to that yet not jj anymore not the duke guy who enjoyed giving you the proverbial middle middle finger not a guy that people love to hate not quite as much as christian latner but close nope now he's coach reddick coach reddick it's still odd still a lot but i digress thank you rob for answering questions what about the possibility of lebron and his son playing together in the history of the nba there's never been a father and a son that have shared an nba basketball court and that feels like something that could be magical we know and have to respect of course that lebron has a decision about his opt-out and i'm sure he and his family and his agent will deliberate what they're going to do there and of course he has freedom to decide whatever's best for him and his family but if it worked out that he was on our team next season nba history could be made and nba history should be made in a lakers uniform that to me is the telltale tag it should be made in a lakers uniform i suppose the cavaliers could say it should be made in a cavaliers uniform now that's not going to happen because even if lebron doesn't resign with them which seems unlikely now since this was his stated goal well brawny his rights belong to the lakers and if he would choose not to sign with them he'd have to wait right you have to wait i think it's another year that you have to wait before you can re-enter the draft process if the rules haven't changed either way palinka indicates it should happen in a lakers uniform that's fairly clear the motivation it's a lot like the end of coby bryant's tenure kobe bryant had missed a couple of seasons parts of seasons with injuries serious injuries but they did not want him to go anywhere else they were willing to give him whatever money he asked for so that they could have him finish up finish up and celebrate the end of his career in a lakers uniform and i mean you saw how it ended it was brilliant it was exactly what they needed and what they wanted including the very last game of kobe bryant's professional career however they sacrificed that season the lakers were not contenders for a championship they put it off so that they could celebrate kobe and i'm not sure anyone especially now but i'm not sure anyone had a huge beef with it it was just very clear that's what their goal was for the season in which kobe retired we don't know that lebron is going to retire but what if what if he ops out gets a one-year deal with the lakers and then announces this will be his last season then the lakers have not just the history of he and his son playing together which has never happened before but they get to send him out a laker not that the lakers need attention it's not really about that but it's the fanfare it's the pump it's the circumstance it's whatever records he can break when he's finishing out his what would be your number 21 your number 21 it's essentially like tom brady all right now we didn't know exactly when tom brady would retire he didn't want it to be front and center same thing with drew breeze we didn't know if he would retire at the end of his season the lakers want not just the history but the chance to make a big deal of this and kind of be the center of the basketball world and they're willing to sacrifice a season of really competing i guess it you could also ask the question of what could they possibly find if they're not going this route with brawny and his dad and kind of giving up 24 25 as a everything else kind of pales in comparison to that right this is the showcase the lakers have it the lakers get the attention but if they're willing to do that if they're willing to give up the season for that maybe they it's an indication that they don't believe they can make enough improvements this season to be a contender the west is tough if that's the case you have to trade anthony davis oh meaning if it's lebron's last year and it's going to be about lebron and his son playing in his last year that you trade anthony davis you'd have to no way and what's the point well there's no if you're not trying to win there's no point of keeping anthony davis well they're gonna try to win they're gonna believe that with lebron still there and still in shape as he is hopefully they avoid injuries hopefully davis avoids injuries but i think in a crowded west with some really good teams the thunder are only going to get better i think the nuggets are still going to be extremely competitive the timberwolves were on the cusp i mean we saw what dallas did i think they're probably going to add some pieces but they've also got playoff experience you could throw other teams in the mix there as well but yeah i don't know that a they could find anybody else or anything else if they're going to bring lebron back and pay him the money that he wants what what do they have left to be able to to find out there and then you know you've got jj reddick as your coach which kind of changes things i don't yeah i mean i guess they could be a championship contender with jj reddick as the coach but he might need some time uh to get a little experience under his belt uh to me it feels like i don't want to say throw away because that's not fair a lot will happen i mean lebron's last year in the league if this is it it's it deserves to be recognized and there will be history but competitive no way i mean is brian gonna play at some point other than in a novelty well you didn't draft him to keep him yeah you didn't draft him to keep him on the bench well how many second round picks actually end up playing in the rookie season i'd say less than five percent oh that's quite a statement i'm not sure i have no idea i'd have to research that i don't know but not a lot not significant time anyway speaking of second round kyle philipowski he got drafted on thursday he was one of the two guys that was invited to the green room so to speak and he ended up not getting drafted wednesday night in the first round and instead had to wait to hear his name called so he ends up getting drafted by the utah jazz and i'm glad me seven-footer that you know came out of duke after a couple of seasons but yeah was expected to go he did go before brawny but he was expected to go in the first round which is why the nba had him there um did end up hearing his name called still though that was one of those weights that people were a little bit surprised by all right in the excitement over things happening on thursday evening maybe you missed the fact that kaitlyn clark was playing maybe maybe you didn't maybe it was some mindless entertainment after the happenings of the day uh but yeah there's uh there was a game and there was a question from a reporter that actually got a bit of an annoyed reaction from kately you don't hear that very often we'll get you set for your weekend just you know weekend we can't get there fast enough it's after hours with amy lawrence you are listening to the after hours podcast we got a ballgame again 11 wins all of last season they're already at 10. look at the tie last year's winning record from way downtown going is it doing okay going right off the window and over there we've seen a couple of bunnies on both sides missed thus far clark now over the top another nice pass and this one is converted you just see the touch by the rookie this is after hours with amy lawrence well that's perfect music for a friday morning thank you producer j as my nieces tell me all the time the 80s and 90s are back so huey lewis definitely fits into the equation i won't even tell you what i or how i used to sing to this song when i was home as a kid top of my lungs though it's something along those lines it's after hours with amy lawrence from amazon prime it's where you can get a lot of your wnba games i'm kind of wondering how many people realized that there was a game last night following the other happenings in our nation it was not a great game for the indiana fever a lot of turnovers still half dozen for kaitlyn 15 points though she did share the team high i had a few points in the game but it was a great game for the team high i had a few triples seven assists six rebounds but maybe a step back so they had the one game or the one point loss to the chicago sky last weekend it's a great game that kind of felt like this was maybe a product of a longer road trip or just lack of energy there was some frustration that was boiling over yeah it wasn't the type of game with the type of game that they were trying to get out there drive to improve or really you just get out there and make the most of this opportunity they did have a better third quarter but for the most part this so the storm took advantage of them early on we want to win more than anybody like this is our job like our job is to compete every single day and if you would say the same thing like nobody enjoys losing like it's not fun to lose and have lost 12 games and we're not even at the halfway point of our season yet like we're trying to give it our all and be able to win every single night and you like we're not going to be walking around the court like smiling when you're down 15 points so i think just you know being able to find that competitive edge at the same time staying positive is a hard thing at times but i think we can definitely do a little bit better and continue to just motivate one another because you know sometimes it's you're going to have good games you're going to have bad games but you know it's a team sport you got to find a way to lean on your teammates and you know stay connected and i think we can do a little bit better than that jul loyd had 34 points so she's the one that put on the show in front of gosh 18 000 plus there in seattle there was some pretty impressive star power i'm not sure if you all saw the list but damion lillard in attendance there so yeah he's he was there in seattle even though he's now a product of the bucks uh jp crawford from the mariners also in attendance also in attendance sue bird megan rubino of course megan not have to worry about us soccer right now and so she is free to attend wnba games so yeah 18 000 the sellout and this happens for the second time that the the fever have been there so i guess the people who were in attendance were bringing the energy but it was a tough night they really focused their defense on caitlin clark they were tough and they were physical making her give up the ball a lot she only had two shots after the break so only two shots in the second half and honestly the second half really got bogged down gosh i think i was looking at it and the storm actually oh the fever excuse me actually outscored the storm in the second half but in the fourth quarter they had a combined 35 points something along those lines this is kind of rough the offense wasn't there in the second half and yet still the point that caitlin's making is we can't allow our frustration to boil over and christy sides echoed that sometimes it's hard to hear her with that voice i think what we weathered earlier in our season with that tough schedule um you know it kind of set us up and got us to these guys kept showing up and doing exactly what we asked them to do that's on me and my staff to make sure that they're showing up every day i'm finding a way to get better you know we're gonna go back we're gonna watch this game um figure out how we can get better to get ready but they are young they're the least experienced team in the league um we've got a lot of growing up to do that's just what it is all right i just let you know if you didn't hear that's gonna be tough jay if there are people and there are people driving in their cars this morning you've got highway noise there's a lot happening around you maybe you're not listening with both of your ear balls that's hard to hear i i'm sorry i'm gonna let it go no i'm not i'm not gonna let it go at any point it's not covet anymore why do we need to do interviews over zoom wow that was inappropriate it doesn't have an answer jay what it's annoying it's so annoying and i get that the teams are probably the ones who are doing zoom calls it's not just them great burr holder did well you said he didn't uh but there are times where in every sport even though the players are in the building they're doing their post-game press conferences over zoom i think marco is saying it where it's just kind of like accepted now because it's quicker it's the worst audio it sounds like she's in the bathroom she might have been no she wasn't in the bathroom no don't start that rumor it's just so annoying because there's no reason that they can't do press conferences in person and honestly if you want the wnba to be treated like it's professional if you want the wnba to you know to have to continue its momentum then how about have your coach sit in front of an actual microphone and do a press conference it's not that hard it would help they fly charter now it's not that hard you're absolutely right also there was a young reporter jay says she seemed like maybe she was in her early 20s same age as kaitlyn clark who decided it was a good time after a loss mind you a good time to ask kaitlyn what she wanted her legacy to be in the wnba holy smokes um i don't know i mean i'm 19 games in i i i think just continue to learn and continue to have fun um playing this game and obviously we're a really young group so uh continue to build day to day um you know the storm is like the type of team that love that we want to be at so like we go against these teams and you know we put together you know a good quarter there and i felt like in the third we beat them 22 to 17 but we didn't have four of those quarters so um i mean i think take it game by game and you know hope this help this uh organization get back to the playoffs is our main goal this year i'm impressed that she actually answered it with that with the initial holy smokes just the yeah just holy smokes one little blip she normally just answers every question and i can imagine because the thing is it was so early in the press conference right it was like the second question that she fielded uh to ask about legacy following a loss so yeah i was clearly a young reporter who maybe doesn't have a lot of experience she answered questions for three minutes straight finally she said to the people on zoom hey want to ask a question of alia boston alia wades and it's like nah i'm i'm good go ahead we'll talk to you on sunday night have a great summer weekend it's after hours with amy lawrence boom after investing billions to light up our
