"We caregivers are often one broken leg away from this thing turning into a Greek Tragedy."
Life insurance is a big part of our journey as caregivers, but what about if something happens to us that compromises our ability to serve as caregivers? Can we make that life insurance policy work for us while we serve as caregivers?
Jerry Garrett (855)-422-1522 called the show to discuss AFFORDABLE options for caregivers to provide a bit of extra peace of mind as we journey down the often hazardous path of caregiving.

Jerry dear juries on the phone with me today Jerry has been working with me on some financial plays. One of things we like to do with with with caregivers is provide a wide variety of things to help you along your journey and sometimes it means is sitting down and talking about things with a financial representative somebody's deal with insurance policies and all those kinds of things and juries done that with me and help me can reorganize some things and Jerry with me. All right dark in here you just find your your beautiful person and so will we do the best we can with what we got you and the insurance world has changed dramatically in the last 20 years hasn't and let me start out by saying what I got into it. You're all dark policy and 1520 year term and then you had your permanent policies, like your whole life and your index universal life now. They also offer a guaranteed universal life which is huge because you can actually designate the age which you want that to and you can regulate what you value to age 65.80, so also for the best things that they have added to the insurance industry is a living benefit and as you will remember that one of the reasons why you chose a plan that we desire. I want that means is if you get a chronic illness or critical illness or a terminal illness.
You can accelerate that benefit will be the wisest important caregivers is because a lot of busy taking care of somebody else.
They don't think that they somehow think that they're going to outlive or be healthy throughout the entire caregiving journey and things can really go south on us pretty quickly.
Sometimes were one broken leg away from from a Greek tragedy and and so here you might not know of the working population, but they don't plan for a catastrophic well and those of us are caregivers only taking care of one catastrophic health. So what are we doing to protect ourselves. You know and and what these things are done. These are these are actually pretty affordable and others disability insurance and long-term care insurance. This is something even different and it's pretty affordable is what I want to cite years to plan and there are a number of financial advisors that are going to suggest that you plan and invest in the restaurant here. Say you have a husband and wife. They get $50,000 policy each and then 10 years down the road say a massive heart attack and they cannot tap into that benefit until they get back on their feet and this is absolutely huge and the reasons why you chose a plan that you want me to any discs is affordable. That I got back up again here lot of us is caregivers think we gotta go out and get all types of stuff to get loaded up.
We can always get everything we want is for us are insurance and all I can stuff that we can do something and there you don't have to do. You don't have to go out and spend $1000 a month to have COVERED you can back it down and just do it incrementally and start just start doing something because in the event something happens to you, what happens to your monthly income. What happens to your family there there all types of options now that you have because the marketplace and the demographic has changed so much and a lot of these healthcare plans and insurance plays everything else have adapted to meet that this what Jerry is talking about. And so I just am pushing this as far as I can to folks to give them an option to do something don't don't just throw up your hands and say well I can't afford this.
Let the lease look at it and then take an opportunity to to explore anything whatsoever. You have plans that even started $25,000 will go but something is better than what Jerry did.
He has a question regarding the use of the chronic or whatever that that illnesses were or infirmity that cause you to want to cash in on this benefit is to be something that is permanent in your life. For example, I had a knee replacement.
Once I got better for about two months there I couldn't drive. If I'm a caregiver. I'm her wheel so to speak. Is that something or does it have to be something that you is considered permanent and and always to be a problem for you, and you can what you can use cite part of that policy is to be deducted from the face amount. If it is more plan if you're using it to actually grow cash value. It can be deducted from that the individual in the scenario have different types of situations. And that's why suggest that you get with a licensed agent that can walk you through the sages like a walk the planet yet this is what I'm happy with you and get some of this knowledge will not begin to answer our request.great to hear John as I write my had no colleague but no I Jerry this is a huge service to folks. I think it's it's so important, I think, will I see that more more companies are providing easy steps into this. You can't always get everything that you want.
I think somebody said that was the Rolling Stones and it was not Alibris or Boris Johnson just corrected me. It was not a laborious event for me it was something that was pretty smooth to do and just gave me a little bit more. That's what insurance is, by the way its peace of mind doing okay something really squarely happens.
We got at least this going on and in that so important to us as caregivers to know okay because there's too many there's there's there's no margin for error and there's too many opportunities for air and and that's what we've got to work on and and and so this is an easy way to take advantage thank you for service.
If you have anyone in the listening audience and would like more permission, I would be happy to help. List the best way people can call and they may be outside of this audience in this area. National, but you can direct them on a national level to where they need to go. But if somebody had just a follow-up question Jerry what's the Best Way, Gmail.com dear tutees, bars to ourgart@gmail.com I will put this in the podcast put to suffer from to take a look at and see Jerry appreciate you very much. Take the time to call on this today will talk to you some more about this is just one more tool to put in the toolbelt of a caregiver say okay here's how we do it and you don't have to spend a fortune.
I'm not spending a fortune with this, but it's a very good product. I've got several things in my financial kit that I try to do and I got more than I'm going to try to do even even the rest this year.
Jerry don't don't get excited at your but it's easy. Jerry will be fellow. It was actually thank you for that again. Jerry just to help us stay a little bit financial financially healthy as we journey down this road. It's hard enough being a caregiver. It's harder to do. It broke you know a man and so there's no need to put yourself in that kind of situation we got more to go, but Jerry, thank you for the call on that. I do appreciate that very very much and will see you next time. Or I Jerry, thank you see getting this little things like that that we try to do in life, and it's not something I would've thought of you don't think insurance you think and how I can get through this and in health insurance you think about that all day long but not life insurance will and in its end and now that they change the marketplace to help us have options that we didn't have before right before there was just really kind of sorry term policies or expensive whole life policies. I think you got more people being caregivers is going.
Hey, maybe you should do something for that to and and and so it's it's one of those things bubble if you want to follow the show is on Facebook live and but we get limit of the videos is stalled out on the Internet or something ethic.
Everybody was downloading something for in a year after we had little activity in Nashville this week you broke the Internet. This is true, and I have a face for radio that might be messing things up just not used to that kind is, is used to your hair and will.
It should be as well. She well you know we got an this this show for those you just joining please are sorry got Jaeger's fault hope for the caregivers that conviction that we as caregivers can live a calm or healthier in their estate more joyful life. That is the conviction that the show brings and and hi I need to hear that justice much if not more than anyone else and so I'm saying it over the heirs. The airwaves is as much as I possibly can because I know what it's like to be in those isolated moments when you are just drowning in despair. I get that. I understand that feeling in ways that I hope many of you hope none of you have to do, but I do get it.
And so I've committed to going out there and and speaking life into the world of the caregiver. But part of that is to lighten up and that's her caregiver tip of the day earlier that you heard and and that's why I enjoy having dinner here because he he pops he sings in John two of them only for started with the show. W. Lacey told me that I did hear WIC Nashville network course national but they said don't rescript the show and are suitable for the contest. Don't write it it it. I've got here with some tubs of scrap of map with my notes but that's that's impressive you can with the scrap map it will hit but game I was I was frustrated at times when I started to staring at the wall and speaking and you just never know what's going on and then also not turned to the glass and there's John over there and he was actually listening to the show producer the show but is actually listening, which I would or lease pertaining to theory and so it's a lie.
I I started talking with John, and I realize how much I was getting out of just that banging ideas around someone else. And then when you committed to this, not your first time here and then you and I talk outside of here. We just bang ideas around it and you just get you. You become sharper and stronger and I was the word I'm looking for job more robust real will set the six dollar call robustness energy is a caregiver, though it got to do this together got to spaghetti. Thank you for being part of this with thanks for letting me be a part of. And that's not any voices.com and will have the stuffer Jerry that you can go out and asking some questions will all upset our podcast which is@hopeforthecaregiver.com.
It's a free podcast, and we love you take advantage of it got down what we put out the whole show but will put out some of the show to make it easier for your listening audience and we want to make stuff readily available to you. However we can.
