When we struggle with guilt and shame, we need to remember that Jesus keeps us because he's the keeper, not because we're keepable. He transforms our wounds and redeems what we've been through, giving us the confidence to keep going to him as our bread for satisfaction.

Jesus' deep compassion and emotional response to the pain of others is a model for Christian maturity, showing that it's okay to feel sadness, grief, and anger in the face of a broken world, and that the truth of the resurrection and life can reframe and deepen our emotions, rather than numbing them.

Jesus Christ describes his heart as gentle and lowly, offering rest to those who come to him, and inviting people to take his yoke upon them, which is easy and light, rather than the burden of religion, which is heavy and oppressive. He calls people to come to him, not because God sent him on a mission he didn't want to do, but because he is gentle and humble towards them, and his heart is full of love and compassion.

The gospel is for everyone, and we are called to share it. Jesus came to redeem us from our broken and sinful lives to restore us to a right relationship with God. The Bible makes it clear that salvation is by faith and not by works, and that we are all called to share the good news of Jesus' love and redemption.

Joshua's famous line 'Choose ye this day whom you will serve' is a call to make a choice between serving God or idols, and to understand that we will serve something anyway, so it might as well be God. The fear of God is a reverential awe that commands our worship and service, and it's a choice that we need to make every day.
