How are you? Rich man, just another week of the craziness that's the National Football League. I know. It's totally off the charts. It's nuts. It's, as we let off the flagship show on Monday, it is that time where some of the season long storyline arcs that we follow are hitting some very crucial points in the campaign. Oh yeah. And we're getting a few more answers.

We're getting to see what's going on, not to steal any thunder of anything that you're about to bring up. But the two time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs look to be well positioned and the Detroit Lions look pretty damn good. And Russell Wilson came out of the gate and his first start and looked absolutely terrific. Yeah, your Super Bowl pick looks pretty good right about now. One loss between the Lions and the Chiefs. And yours had an interesting game in Lambeau Field on Sunday, Texans and Packers. I think we'd sign for that Super Bowl.

That was a pretty fun game. Let's jump into it. Here's this edition of Over Reaction Monday.

Go for it. Hit it, please. That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage. This place sucks. Over Reaction Mondays Monday.

All right, what do you have out there, Chris? All right, Rich, let's get it right going with what we saw Sunday night in Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson is back.

It took a quarter-ish, right? Maybe some boo birds, but Russ is going to lead the Steelers to the AFC North title. Dude, that's an overreaction. Come on now. He's QB one for week seven.

Dude, what do you mean? I know he looked terrific. I know that this is exactly why, you know, why Mike Tomlin wanted to, you know, check in on him to see if they could get a different style from the quarterback position, which is more chunk plays, more throwing it down the field, which is something that, you know, he used to do in Seattle. And we didn't see enough of in Denver and in his last year in Seattle, which is why he's in black and gold.

And, and, and so I needed to see it. It was against the jets and I need to see more of it. And for everybody to sit there and think off of one start, that this is the Russ that we're going to consistently see is what I would think is an overreaction for them to actually win the division over Ravens team that has over the past four weeks looked like the Ravens team that we thought they would be not starting. Oh, and two Ravens look good.

The Ravens team that stubbed its toe or stepped on its Raven in week two against the Raiders team, because of Davante Adams, putting up a hundred, some odd yards with Garrett, you know, with Gardner Minshew, that Ravens team is gone. And the four weeks that we've seen has been through a month of consistent quarterbacking from a two time MVP quarterback, who I think we can extrapolate out deep into the regular season to say that they can win the division in a way that we can extrapolate it out off of four quarters that Russ is going to win the division. This can't surprise you. My take on this can't surprise you here, Chris. Of course that right.

I just like to declare something and then watch you kind of talk it out. No, I think that a lot of people coming off of last night think that this is what we're going to see from Russell Wilson. Run game looked better. I don't know if that's a reflection of Ross, but run game looked better. No, but Najee has been coming on strong towards the end of the field. Also, George Pickens has been kind of unlocked with Ross that I can say is the difference between Russ and fields.

Like if you want to say, what did we see a difference in? It was throwing outside the numbers. And he had a nice long one to fryer Muth too. I mean, he's chucking it up there and look, I know George had to make a play, a bounce off the jet guy's helmet or whatever. And then another one, kind of a back shoulder ish while he was being held, but 14 looked good.

Well, it looks like Russ's old connection with a 14 in Seattle as well. You know, so one game so far, so good. But to say that he's going to lead the Steelers to the AFC North title because of what we saw. You know what I might do is one, one day, I don't know. I won't give you a heads up when you want to heads up is that I'll end up agreeing with everything you say. You're like, what's gotten into you? It's like, you know, one of those 80s movies where I've exchanged bodies with you. You know what I mean? Like we're freaky fried 18 again. I got to say, I also really enjoyed Mike Tomlin's walk off podium moment.

Can we, can we, can we hop that one up here? Like, like we'll play it for you. It was unexpected. And it was kind of him being like, see, because I know what I'm doing.

Well, here's trust me. The reason why this is so out of character is because it does infer that he hears what's being discussed outside the building, which never countenances. And he has said in meetings that I've had with him, broadcast meetings prior to games that I'm calling in the Steelers has said that he does. He does have an ear to that because it's brought to him or he, or, or he will ask, what are they saying about it?

He does have a Twitter account that is active, but I don't believe he's, he's sitting there, you know, like scrolling. I don't think he's scrolling about the Steelers looking in his search function, but Hey man, you know, for one gaming and one game in for that, for this to look the way that it did and go as well as it did after even a quarter and a half where it wasn't looking all that good. Russell was getting booed. He had some throws that were one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. It was, he was thrown to his left for a quick throw to his left receivers right there on the sideline.

And it was four yards behind him and it was bounced short. I know. Even he said it took a while for, cause again, the last time he played was Christmas Eve, the game that I called that beat where he beat Belichick. That was the last time he played.

I called the last game he played Christmas Eve of 2023. We beat them. Right. That's what he made. That's right.

Where Belichick beat them. My bad. At any rate, I was, you know, far be it from me to toot my own horn and screw it up. I guess that's the way to lead to Tomlin tooting his own horn when he was asked if this is the boldest movie he's ever made. Was that one of your boldest decisions to go with 30? That's why, that's why I'm well compensated.

Thank you. And he almost cut the question off. So he had that locked and loaded.

That's why I'm well compensated. And again, it's just that Rooney's doing what they do, which is to just monolithically run the franchise with a monolith owner, giving it to the, giving it to the coach and saying, we, we, we believe we've hired the right guy and we're going to keep rehiring him. And it makes people there in Pittsburgh nuts because they think maybe it should have been time to change. But the fact that you don't change allows a coach to make a bold maneuver like this. And then they sit back and see how it works. And guess what?

It works for one game, but to sit here and say that it's going to work all the way through is, is an overreaction. What else you got over there, Chris? All right.

All right. Let's keep this overreaction train moving. This episode is brought to you by Progressive Insurance, fiscally responsible financial geniuses, monetary magicians. Bunch of frauds. Shanahan and Purdy combo will never beat the Chiefs. Why would you say that based off of yesterday? Ever. Or Monday?

Off of that Sunday? They're never going to beat them. Why would you say that? I think it's plainly obvious that Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes just run circles around these guys. Well they run circles around most everybody. And they think they're in the same class as the Chiefs.

Well they are. They took an overtime in the Super Bowl, Chris. Did they win? Do you get a ring for almost going to the overtime in the Super Bowl? No you don't.

You do not. But yes, the Sunday game that you're referring to had Purdy throwing to at one point receivers four through seven. Including two rookies, including one playing in his first game.

And Ronnie Bell, who I love from his time at Michigan, who on occasion does not appear in spots that he's supposed to and doesn't make plays that they're hoping he can make. Ayuk was out. And Jennings didn't even dress. And Deebo was dressing. And then apparently, how many people who have Deebo Samuel in their fantasy league were like, why does he need oxygen at C level? And so he was sick. I saw Purdy throw it into the arms of the Chiefs players. That's what I saw.

The thing is, are you great or are you not? People want to make excuses for Purdy when everyone's there and they're like, well he's making all the throws. Someone's got to deliver it to the All-Pro's. He played really well in the Super Bowl, Chris. And then there's nobody playing and then it's like, well everybody's injured.

Which is it? Can we stop making excuses for this guy? I am not making excuses for him. And then Shanahan, the next big game that he wins will be the first. Did you see the stat? He won the NFC Championship game last year, twice in his tenure, three times in his tenure. Oh, and 40 with an eight point deficit entering the fourth quarter. Can you make a comeback and win a game that matters, bro? I think it's an unfair supposition coming off of the way that this team was... I think Niners fans agree with me and they're getting kind of tired of this act by these guys. Let me just say this in the same way that I said it about Tomlin.

They let go of Kyle Shanahan. It'll be five minutes until he gets a job somewhere else. And that's fine.

But maybe he just can't get it done there. I think that you are wrong. I think this is an overreaction.

We said it last week. It's kind of funny that you come on this podcast with this opinion. Because it is exactly what I predicted would be the overreaction coming off of this game is that the Niners are in trouble. It is exactly what I thought you would say if the Niners lost this game, which interestingly enough, you thought they would win. I thought they would win. As a matter of fact, your overreaction prediction for this show is that the Niners were back in it. And here we are in a situation where I was right and you are doing exactly what I thought. Because even with the Niners losing, and I didn't even think Juwan Jennings would be inactive or Deebo Samuel would only play three snaps because he was sick. Didn't think that Brandon Iuch would suffer a frightening injury and one that was potentially long lasting. I didn't even think that this would happen in this manner, but I will repeat it again. When the Cowboys lose to this team next week.

Wow. When they lose in San Francisco next week, because this is exactly the scenario. I don't know, man. Where the Cowboys come off of their bye week and everybody's like, okay, now we got to reset. No, Micah, no tank, right? Yeah.

All right. But we got to reset here. And this is the time we should beat this team because this guy's not there. And that guy's not there. And McCaffrey still not there, which by the way is a big difference maker. And when the Cowboys lose this game, all right, the Niners will be four and four going into their bye week.

And that's all they need to know. Seattle had a huge W in Atlanta. Yes. Huge.

Okay. Huge Sunday. It was monster pig because they're now a game in front of San Francisco, which at this point in time will welcome Seattle into their midst in week 11. And all they got to do is win the division, which is 100% in their grasp, even at three and four, all they got to do is get that ticket in and get healthy and get Dre Greenlaw back and her funga back and McCaffrey back and Deebo back and Juwan Jennings back. And hopefully at this time of taping, we haven't learned about the severity of IUX injury, so on and so forth. But for you to sit here and say they will never beat the chiefs. Never. It's an overreaction.

Never. What else? IU wasn't doing much before.

I know that. Quarterback heavy overreaction now I'm realizing looking at my list. Don't worry about it. It's a quarterback driven league. It's an overreaction. It's an overreaction league. I'm on fire. The Giants should just make the move.

Start true lock this week. This is a sinking ship. I don't. They're not going to, by the way. Yes. I know Brian Debo has said that the guy that he took out of the game on Sunday is still their story because he needed a spark drew lock as a spark.

Just go with them. Dude. Anything's a spark. What is Daniel Jones giving you at this point?

A threat of a run. I don't know. Dude. That performance against Minnesota two Januarys ago is still an absolute outlier on Daniel Jones's career. Unbelievable. What was the stat that he hasn't thrown like a home touchdown in like 600 and something days or whatever?

I don't know. It's, it's not pretty, but going with drew lock, I can't say this is an overreaction. I can't sit here and say that that would be neighbors didn't have a second half catch. How was that possible? And neighbors has been having a nice campaign until the concussion knocked him out for two games.

And then this knocked him out. The giants are taken on the Steelers on a Sunday on a Monday night, Monday night. So we have to be subject to nationally solo game of a Daniel Jones performance against the Steeler defense. You're telling me that's, what's going to happen. Chris.

I'm about to call giants Panthers nationally in Munich, Germany. Chris. I just had heart palpitations for you. Here's no, no, no.

Don't worry about it. I love doing it. I can't wait to do it. I might visit the Hofbrauhaus for breakfast though.

You know, like that one, Mike, Mike laughed off Mike Del Tufo, laughed off camera. I might join you. What else? You got another one? You should go full Cosell for that, for that game. Welcome to Munich everybody. Welcome to Munich. I am Rich Eisen. Rich, I liked this next one a lot. Okay. And I don't think enough people are talking about the way this person is playing.

Why did you sell it? Because of his history. He got shipped out to this city. But I said a few weeks ago that the lions are America's team. I believe that. And I believe Jared Goff should be at the top of the MVP discussion. Oh, you heard what I had to say during the flagship show on Monday.

The top. And I... This dude is ballin'.

I said that he is the MVP of the season. I love that. For seven weeks. I love that take.

And that is a fact. I did not stutter that Jared Goff is absolutely on a heater right now. He comes out of the locker room and gives his chance to win right off the bat as he went 15 for his first 15 in Minnesota. Does he throw incompletions? He started 15 of his first 15 in Minnesota. It's his third game of the season starting 14 for 14 or better. He's the only NFL player with a single such game in 2024. And he's done it three times. Only player since at least 1991 when even two such games in a single season.

Now he's got three. He's the only quarterback since 91 to start three games in a four game span with 10 or more completions in a row. Six career games starting 10 for 10 or better. That's tied for the fourth most in the NFL since 1991.

Here's the one though that jumps out at you that absolutely plays into what you're saying right now. Is that he is the third quarterback, the third quarterback in the National Football League to have in this campaign, a passer rating of 140 or better in three straight games. He's the fourth. The only three others to do it were Roger Staubach, Kurt Warner and Aaron Rogers. Warner and Aaron Rogers won the MVP in the seasons that they did it. And in the season when Staubach did it, he wasn't the MVP of the season. He was the MVP of the Superbowl that he won.

That works too. And Jared Goff has caught a touchdown this year too. Dude, I saw a stat in the last four games. The Lions have more touchdowns than incompletions, 18 to 15. They are killing it.

And in that it was Rogers in 2011 and Kurt Warner in 99 and Staubach in 71, 140 or better passer rating in three straight games. So he's, he's, he's not, he's not starting slow and thus the team can, has to overcome it. He's not putting him in a hole. He's getting everybody off on the right footing. And I think it adds a calmness to everything. I think so too.

It helps to have a run game like Gibbs and Montgomery killing it. What do they want to be called? Sonic and Knuckles? By the way, whatever they want to be called is winning and winning. Yeah.

Right. And so, and by the way, one last thing too, I'll say this about the Lions with certainly my guy Hutch, Aidan Hutchinson out, right? This guy Brian Branch is out standing.

He is everywhere. He is making games two passes defense and an interception in week seven. It's his third interception in his last two games. Detroit's had at least one takeaway in 10 straight. That's the longest streak in the NFL and Brian Branch is leading the way. So the lions are the best team in the NFC through seven weeks. And this guy, Jared Goff is the MVP through seven weeks, period. End of story.

Agreed. What a way to hit halftime here of our overreaction Monday brought to you by game time picks. That's the new feature of game time. It's even easier to see your favorite teams play live with game time picks because it filters out the fluff to show you only incredible deals on great seats. So you don't have to waste time searching through thousands of tickets. It's actually helped as I'm beginning to curate for the big baseball series that's here in Los Angeles, California.

I've heard that's coming. And this is no fault of game time. The numbers jumped off the screen. That's why you need our code. Well, I don't know if the code is going to do too much damage to that number, every little bit helps, but the all in pricing feature also helps because you see the whole total upfront. There's no surprise fees at checkout.

There's only a surprise when you see the actual retail price for these tickets here in Los Angeles. Hey, but it takes the guesswork totally, totally out of buying tickets with game time picks. Download the game time app, create an account and use our code overreaction for $20 off your first purchase terms apply. Visit game time.co for details again, create an account and redeem our code O V E R R E A C T I O N. You get $20 off and I'll tell you what, it's a perfect time to use the game time app and game time picks with basketball season coming around, starting off right now. And obviously the professional football season up and running. It is awesome.

The view from your seat feature is one of my favorites. Download game time today. What time is it? Game time, Christopher.

Second half. Hey, congrats on the Yankees, by the way. Thank you, sir. I had a lot to do with it. I don't mean it either.

Okay. From the team that makes you happy to the team that makes you sad. Rich, the Aaron Rogers experiment in New York has just been an utter failure. Oh, how can you say anything about that?

What's wrong with, I mean, so far. Oh yeah. I mean, first of all, last year was, last year was no fault of, of, of the jets. I mean, they made their bets and the football gods and the injury gods just took the table and flipped it over.

Yeah. But I mean, the table was wired for the jets. But they're better last year than this year. That's the crazy thing is that last, well, I mean, Robert Saul was their head coach last year. They were four and three through seven games with, with Zach Wilson and took the chiefs with Taylor Swift in the house in New York, right? Which was at the height of what while Taylor Swift is going to all these football games. And Zach Wilson played well in that game. And Zach Wilson beat the Eagles, which I don't think these jets could do right now and, or take the chiefs to the, to the brink right now. I don't know how many teams they can be right now, to be honest. But it has been an utter failure, but again, it was no fault of the jets that Rogers got hurt last year and then eventually, you know, fell apart.

I mean, I mean all of it, I mean, turning the, basically picking the players over to him, having a hand in the head coach. Like, I mean, it's, it's all been a disaster. Here's the disaster.

Here's the disaster. Once again, if they had gotten the quarterback pick right with Darnold with Zach Wilson, but maybe they did get it right with Darnold. They could have, it was the coaching at the time. If they had gone ahead and said, we liked Darnold, we're just going to totally reverse it in the same way. Mike McDaniel came in and said, we're going to stick with Tua. And we're going to build around them.

We're going to get faster. And I got this if they had done that, but they didn't get their big top five quarterback draft picks. Correct. They didn't nail it or they did and didn't surround him and be patient enough.

However you want a term, not getting it right. They didn't. And what ended up happening is Aaron Rogers popped free. And I tell you what, I don't think for anybody else would they have gone ahead and went back into the veteran free agent market to pay or acquire a veteran quarterback like they did for Favre, the same franchise and all of that after that didn't work out at all.

It was a smart play for a team that didn't get these kids right and Rogers pops free. And the only issue was his age and his desire. And if he looks everyone in the eye and say, I have the desire, then it's just like, let's hope the age doesn't come home the roost. And it did last year.

And now it does appear it's possible. His age is an issue, but it's just the rest of the team. There's just something missing.

There's not something, there's something that's not there. Like we said on paper, the roster is really good. Right. So, but so is the dream team for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. You know, it's what, what I said after the Jets lost to the Bills, the Bills are a sum of its parts, the sum of their parts.

And the Jets are parts looking for the sum or some win. Damian Woody said it on the flagship show on Monday when he said the names on the back are great, but it's the name on the front that nobody's playing for. They're not a team.

And they're just a roster is what he said. And if you want to look at Rogers and say, you need to be the leader that makes the roster a team. He just needs to play better. Well, I mean, the two interceptions, one might've been his fault because Devontae Adams is open to his left and he tried to jam it down the middle and, you know, they made a great play. The Steeles made a great play on him.

And the other one is not his fault. He had Garrett Wilson right in the five. And that, that flipped everything, you know, and I don't think there is a resilient, a team that can overcome something like that in the middle of this season right now with an interim head coach is just something that is missing. And if you want to put it on Rogers to say it is on him, he is the leader. He's the guy that helped bring a lot of this roster together. He is somebody that Woody Johnson absolutely is handed the franchise over to and say, we need you to win it.

And, and, and he's willing to try it and do it. And if it's on him, maybe it's what Rod Woodson said on, on this podcast network to Susie and Amy on what the football that he's, he's got power, but that doesn't mean you're a leader, right? So it's going to be on him to bring this all together at two and five. But of course it's been an utter failure. So far last year was a total dumpster fire.

And this year there are two games worse through seven games than last year's dumpster fire at this point. So I don't think you minced any words there, but how, what are we going to say? It hasn't been an utter failure so far, not that he said it's an utter failure. It's going to finish an utter failure.

I'd say that's an overreaction. Cause you never know. You think they're still in it, dude, they're two and five. I mean, so if it doesn't look good, cause it's a hard two and five where they lost a home game to the best team in their division. So they lost the vision game at home, which you, as you know, we keep mentioning here is, is, is the stuff you need to hold serve.

And when you lose it, it's the worst loss you can have. That 10 nine against Denver is going to really come back to haunt. And again, so if, if you believe, and I said this again on the flagship, if you believe the chiefs are going to win the AFC West, which is by the way, a solid belief. And if you believe the Ravens are going to win the AFC North, which is definitely more of a question than the AFC West right now, then the best teams in those divisions to have a shot at a wildcard spot, you lost to Denver and Pittsburgh. The other two are the best losses you can have, which is out of conference, right? You don't have a loss in conference. You definitely don't want to have a loss in division and you absolutely can't afford to have a loss in division at home, which they've done to Buffalo. So it doesn't look great at all, but Hassan Radekis showed up.

Davante Adams just played one game there. You start stringing them together. I mean, they have to just win.

They have, it's crazy. They have to win eight of their final 10 to go 10 and seven. Okay. If they finish eight and two, they're 10 and seven.

Okay. They go nine and one. They're 11 and six, right? They go 12 and O for the rest of their games. Right.

Am I getting the math right here? I go 10 and O pardon me. They go nine and one. They have an 11 win season. They go 10 and O. It's a 12 win, 12 and five.

Correct. 10 wins will get you there. But nine you may have a problem because you got the Steelers and the Broncos, but there is a seventh spot. So I'm giving you the path to the playoff basket for the Jets. It's becoming more and more of a dumb and dumber chance with each loss.

Yeah. You lose to New England on Sunday. I mean, that's basically a wrap.

What else you got? That would be bad. That'd be bad. A team that does have a chance in the AFC, the Colts are looking pretty good right now, but they're doing it despite poor quarterback play that can all be changed.

They could win the South if they start Joe Flacco moving forward. Yeah. You didn't stutter. Oh. But they won't do it. But, but, but why? Because you drafted Anthony Richardson. But he's not ready.

And when he's out there, he's playing so poorly. But the only way to get him ready is to give him the reps. But you're doing that.

You're doing that because if the guy's the real thing. Shouldn't be the idea is to win the games, win the games each week. The idea is to win the games as consistently as you can week to week, year to year, but to have a situation where you're set up for a decade plus to go.

But that's what you're looking for. This season when you can win the division. That's why you choose unready quarterbacks at the top of the draft.

Oh, that's so dumb. And it's always a question of how fast can you get the kid ready? Well, we've seen that the guy's not ready. And he's not, but the only way to get him there is to play him. And everybody in the locker room knows it. And you have to have an owner patient enough to tell the general manager and the coach, this is your gig.

I get it. When we draft this kid, we're going to have to keep going with it. And that's the way it works in the national football league. And long after Joe Flacco is retired, the idea is that Anthony Richardson is going to be taking the Colts to AFC South championships. And those aren't the only banners they hang in Indianapolis that you Patriot fans like to joke about them hanging. When Peyton Manning was winning AFC South titles, you know what I mean?

Like, so that's the idea. Joe Flacco absolutely can win the AFC South for the Colts in 2024, but that is not the goal for the 2024 Colts. The goal for the 2024 Colts is to win the AFC South with Anthony Richardson. Well, that's not going to happen.

All right. I believe if you looked at Shane Steichen and you told him that he would say, says who? If you said that to Chris Ballard, if you said that to Chris Ballard, he might say, you're right. But my job is to generally manage the team. I want a gentleman to generally manage wins and playoff wins. And they got a guy who can do it.

And it's not Anthony Richardson. And if you asked Jim Irsay, he'd say, would you want some Cherry Garcia ice cream? Sure, sure.

Hey, may Del Tufo laugh again. Sure, Jim. I'll take an autographed guitar. Okay. A guitar pick.

What else? Start the best player. You're not wrong.

Start the best player. But they're not going to do it. Ridiculous. And they won't do it. These teams.

What are they doing? Well, they all can't be fresh out of the box after you choose them 199th overall, Chris. That was a long time ago. I understand that. How about third overall? He looks good. He can't be the second overall pick straight out of the box like Jayden Daniels or CJ Stroud. He can't be that either. He can't be the third overall pick straight out of the box like Jayden Daniels or CJ Stroud.

He can't be the third overall pick straight out of the box like Jayden Daniels or CJ Stroud. That was a long time ago. So what else? I don't like it. All right.

Two more. NFC is really good, right? We agree with that.

NFC is really good. By the way, speaking of which, did you hear the phone buzzing during the show? No, no. What do we got?

It looks like Dan Campbell's on our flagship Tuesday. Hey. Nice.

I had some kneecaps. Can't wait. Dude, he's long past that one.

Yeah, but it's still really funny. Okay. He said that at a press conference. Multiple 10 win teams in the NFC are going to miss the playoffs. Who are the multiple? So one of them is going to be an NFC North team is what you're saying? Perhaps.

And then another one is what? Who are the multiple 10 win teams? Maybe Dallas, maybe Seattle, maybe San Francisco. Dallas. Give me the scenario where Dallas wins. Give me the scenario. Washington and Philly have 11 wins and Dallas has 10 in the route.

Give me the scenario. Atlanta. Where Dallas wins 10 games.

Oh yeah. That's what I'm saying is that you have to have teams that win 10 games. I think they're going to win 10 games. Enough that two of them get left home. This is an overreaction.

I don't even remember the last time. Do we have the NFC standings? And we can just throw them up there.

They're really good. No, I understand that. But the second place team in the, this is before the bucks play on Monday night football. Right. Right. Right. Okay. And so you see a, you know, two, five, four, five wins.

Look at the sniffing column. There's two, four win teams in it. You could have two 10 win teams right there.

Right. Eagles, Falcons, Cowboys, Niners. They could all win 10 bears can win 10. I mean, I said the Vikings were going to be left out last week. They could win 10 and not make it.

Boy. There'd be a lot of, have to be a lot of top heaviness. A lot of top heaviness. And a lot of NFC teams beating AFC teams for that to happen. Well, AFC is not that good. Okay. The same. I think this is good. This could happen. I'll push back and call that an overreaction.

You put a pin in it. Wait to see. Oh, that's a good one. It's I like your, I like your moxie.

I like the cut of your jib right there. NFC is really good. Okay. Really good.

What else? Last one. Yes, sir. You're going to hate this one, but it's the truth. It's like when you really analyze it and you think about it, it's the truth.

Despite being undefeated, Patrick Holmes is not a top 10 quarterback right now. Dude, let me just leave. Let me just read you. Correct.

I would not like that. Let me just read you some metrics. These are all numbers though, right? They're numbers, right? They're numbers.

What you're giving your numbers. So there are facts. Hold on a second. Whatever. I know. I know you can give me your numbers.

I'm going to read you them. Oh my God. He's 14th in yards per attempt. Okay. He's 21st in touchdowns.

Got it. He leads the NFL and interceptions he's 23rd and passer rating, you know, who's first and passer rating golf chair, golf, golf, 30 points, less than golf 11th and ESPNs made up QBR that people like he's not that good. They're winning in spite of him. You're using a statistic that you called made up by a television network that people like, because you don't even know what the hell the QBR is. You're just going to be, at least it's a, it's a TV network created statistic that you don't even know what it is, but outside of the top, but it's, but people like it, people like it enough for you to use it as a metric against Patrick Mahomes as something that's a viable window into his productivity. Correct. Ah, good to know you're a moron with the ultimate of love and respect when it comes to this subject.

You honestly think he's playing like a top 10 quarterback right now? Excuse me. Yeah. Be honest. Yes. You cannot watch the game and be like, I don't like the name on the back. And he was just number guy on Madden.

You'd be like, he stinks. Okay. If you said in the twenties for fantasy, if you keep cutting you off. Okay. Thank you. You made your point. Thank you. I'm sorry. Called your moron. You stated Patrick Mahomes is not a top 10 statistical quarterback right now.

You're accurate. But in terms of being a top 10 quarterback, he is outstanding. The winning in spite of him, I disagree.

I disagree. We have no idea, Chris, sitting on our couches, what plays he's checking into what he's doing on the sideline, what he's saying to come up with the plays, what he's doing in terms of pulling it out of his, you know what, in a moment that they absolutely need to. And part of the reason why they absolutely need to might be because he's turned it over might because he's not playing as well as he's played in the past, but it's you're six and Oh, for a reason, and it isn't just luck and it isn't just one side of the football either. Their defense has been terrific, terrific.

I get it. But when it comes time to actually in the moment, as I said on the flagship show on Monday, as I said, what they remind me of, of your Patriots for all those years, situationally down to down, snap to snap quarter to quarter, depending on down and distance, depending on field position, depending on everything, they are winning when they have to, because they are attuned to doing it, that they are well-coached they're the best coach team in the league. They're well coached, but they are also filled with leaders and guys who understand the mission snap to snap.

And the guy who leads that charge is number 15. It is Patrick Mahomes, which makes him a top 10 quarterback in this league, 100% statistically, it is ugly. And once again, you sir are seeing the cheese of a chief's team that doesn't hang their victories in the football Louvre.

It doesn't look pretty. And you're once again, seeing the cheese of chiefs aren't all that good. I mean, you can get them because they're not doing this well or that well, and we've done this before. We've done it before. Two years ago, I was the moron.

I actually said the Raiders were going to win the AFC West. I don't know why. I don't know why you did that. Cause sometimes I like zagging.

People are zigging I'm zagging. That's what I do. So I was a moron doing that.

And to this day, I still hear it from chief's kingdom. And then last year, even with me taking the chiefs to win the super bowl, I got off. I got off them at Thanksgiving for the Ravens, but then got back on them for the playoffs. Cause I started seeing, yeah. What am I doing? Oh, I took the nine. What am I doing?

What am I doing? And I got on them. And in this year, who did I predict to get the first ever three right out of the gate.

And I will not wait. We were in KC. Excuse me.

You said it before going to Kansas city. There's no pandering. I am not wavering. I am not taking the cheese. This guy's a top 10 quarterback and sorry statistics.

You might have, I love it. I don't know what the statistic is. It's totally made up by a bunch of people I've never even met, but those numbers support what I'm saying. So I'm going to use it.

You believe in facts or you don't all right. Let's predict what we're overreacting to next week. I nailed it.

As a matter of fact, what was your, what was your second, what was your second supposition for me to bounty around? Oh yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. I said that the Niners would lose to the chief. Never going to beat the chiefs and that the chiefs are going in trouble. I mean that the Niners would not be the chief Niners are in trouble, right? And I said the Niners would be in trouble and you even went further, not trouble this year.

I took it forevermore. They're never going to be like, you see their fate literally never. So I, you went over the top and you read owns them obvious. So what are we overreacting to next week? Reacting to let's just throw it up because I can't remember it off the top of my head right now. I didn't write it down. Ah, the Eagles are back.

Here's what's going to happen. The Eagles. Oh, they look so good. Did I call that take on Barkley a game against the giants? Yes, of course. By the way.

So did the rest of the free world. You said it was more likely that Drake May was going to throw three touchdowns. Here's the thing.

They're going to wait. Which looked good. Drink me so good.

Early on in London. Drink me. So I spared everyone a Patriot's take this week. Yeah. The Eagles are going to go into Cincinnati and I think really, really spank alike of the Bengals. Okay. And then we're going to be like, Oh, Philly's back.

All the weird Sirianni stuff. Doesn't matter. Hurts is throwing. AJ Brown is back at a fourth, fourth down play.

And you say that you won't believe it. You don't think they are going into Cincinnati. It's not indicating that this team is actually a playoff team that can go on a run.

I mean, come on. The thing is they're going to beat Jacksonville in week nine, right? Which the, uh, which NBC just flexed out of smart move NBC. So now they're going to be what six and two going into Dallas. Yeah. That's going to be, that's going to be fun.

Or five and three. Cause I think Cincinnati actually wins. I can't quit.

You'll borrow. You can't, you can't. I just, I still think Philly has a lot of good players.

No, I didn't do that. They're kind of getting, despite their coach being a real weird. I almost took them instead of lions to win the NFC this year. So but I think we're going to be talking ourselves into the Eagles, but you still, but you don't think it's an overreaction. You still believe it.

Eh, Detroit's still head and shoulders above everybody. I agree. Uh, all right. So here's, here's how I'm, I'm, I'm zagging.

People will be zigging. Okay. But I'm zagging.

All right. And I just said it. I used the word. I used the word. When the Cowboys, when the Cowboys lose, it's what I said against San Francisco next, when they lose, there will be this overreaction that the Cowboys are going to miss the playoffs.

And even with them losing next week, but you can still think they can make it. Yeah. Why not? Oh, wow.

Why not? Three and four. There'll be three and four at that point in time. They're so top heavy and coaching. I know, but they're going to get their guys on the defensive line back. Yeah. And they're going to, after that go on a really hard schedule, but there are some winnable games for them towards the end of the year.

They usually split between Philadelphia and they usually split against Washington when they're really good. But this is why they're going to be in trouble against Houston and Tampa, Cincinnati, Houston. Yeah.

I know. There's some tough ones up there, but they are, they have all those at home though, but they're not a good home team. That's correct.

That's right. So people are going to say that they're going to miss the playoffs. There's still a chance that they can make it. If they can pull their, you know what together, I know it does. And certainly when you're three and four, having lost to a Niner team that you think is less than yeah.

So I'm just going to sit here and say, it's not over. I think they'd be, they'd be the Niners. How about this? I think they'd be, how about Jerry at three and four decides to throw costs in the land. He's just going to start acquiring players. They have the cap space for it. He's going to realize that they go, I don't know. Who could they go get? I don't know.

I don't know, but maybe they do it. Like Max Crosby? No way. Why do people think he's available? Because the Raiders are kind of a mess, but that's exactly the type of guy they need to have there. Yes. That's true. What about Miles Garrett?

You know, there are people starting to call the Browns. Well, as you know, where do you go to college? Miles Garrett, Texas. Correct. I don't know. By the way, that'd be nice. I'm just saying that it's not over yet for the Cowboys.

It'll look at, and people stick a fork in them. But it's not over. It's three and four.

It's not over. Three and four is not over. I just don't see them winning 10 is my problem. They'd have to be at three and four. I think, I think three and four, they'd have to win seven. They'd have to win seven of their last, um, right. Three and four would be terrible at math. They got to go seven for 10.

They sit. You got to get 10 wins. Seven seed is going to have 10 wins in the NFC. It'll be tough, but it's not fork sticking time just yet. I think they beat the Niners. Okay.

And I do not. Good stuff. We will see what happens next week. Thanks for taking in this edition of overreaction Monday.
