Quinton Lake. Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles on today's show. ESPN NFL analyst Marcus Spears, your phone calls, latest news, and more. And now it's Rich Eisen. Hour number two of the Rich Eisen show is on the air.

Eight four four two zero four Rich. Number to dial here on the program. We hit the NFC East. The AFC West, the AFC North, with the Ravens. In hour number one, we'll hit the Steelers and the Browns coming up on this program.

Gardner Minshew has entered the chat. Um, I think he held his first press conference as a winning quarterback in quite some time in a bucket hat.

So that's coming up. Not just it was like white bucket. Yeah, it was white. Had like bows on it. It looked like a Gilligan situation.

But I mean, we just hit the Cowboys situation hard. Let's give TJ some time to recover before he shows the quarterback who made his nightmare come true yesterday.

Sorry about that. I mean, I knew it was going to happen though, right? It's like watching that movie and you already know the outcome. Like you knew not to go down into base. Let's go to Kellen in Austin, Texas, on the WeatherTech Fan Line.

What's up, Kellen? What's going on? Hey, how's it going, Rich? Thanks for taking my call. Always a pleasure to to be on my favorite show on ESPN.

Thank you. Hey, real quick, TJ, I just got to say we're going to get through this. You know what I mean? We're gonna we're gonna get through this. It's it's tough, you know.

But Rich, I called you in August, and I said, "Hey, you're crazy for putting the Cowboys in your top five." And by the end of that call, you had given me a hug. You made me say that I believe. And I just want to say, I'm not having fun anymore, Rich. I'm not having any fun.

So offering you a hug now would be fruitless—an empty gesture. I mean, it would—it would feel good in the moment, but I just, you know, I don't know. I don't know where I go from here. Listen, like, but Kelly, I mean, have me questioning my whole existence. Right?

Listen. Back in August, there was reason for optimism. Yeah, everyone had it. You know, we had Rashawn Gary walked in here straight from training camp, telling us about how George Pickens was becoming a leader. That's true.

No, yeah, and that guy led everybody back to the locker room first up yesterday. Did you have to go to the bathroom? Is that what that was? I got no problem with that because I ran out of my apartment afterwards. Is that what it was?

Yeah, I didn't. I mean, to be fair, I didn't have the TV on anymore either. Pickens have to go potty. Was it Pickens potty time? That was.

I just ran down the hallway. Callen, okay, here we go. Rich Eisen Show, famous bro hug. Here we go. Extended arms.

Appreciate it. All right. Then move my arms around, tap, tap. We tap you on the back, and then we separate. That's it.

Is that better? Absolutely, ladies and gentlemen, Kellen in Austin, the WeatherTech fan. I'll give you a tap count for American-made floor liners and a cargo liner that laugh in the face of fall weather. Visit WeatherTech dot com today. Joining us in his usual Monday spot, ladies and gentlemen, is none other than Marcus Spears of Monday Night Countdown.

Good to see you from Seattle. How are you, Marcus? What's up, my guys? What's up? Let's go.

What's up? Okay. Are you out on the Cowboys now? Officially over? Done?

What do we got? Yeah, it's a wrap. It's a wrap. It's uh, it's been what? What we in week eight now, Rich?

Is there three and five? Same issues. Same issues every week. Um. And by this time, you're supposed to be getting into kind of a flow or rhythm about who you are.

And their flow and rhythm is leaving people wide ass open, not being able to stop the run, not being able to handle pressure when teams blitz them a large majority of the time. And if C.D. Lamb and George Pickens are not going for over a hundred, your offense is going to get stagnant at times. And when the run game, obviously, in last week in Philly, it was phenomenal, and then you. Get this.

Can't be a championship football team. We can't talk about you about being a playoff team or going forward if nothing about your team is consistent. I would, I would, I would, I would be hard pressed. As much football as I watch and film, I break down to tell you what the Cowboys consistently are good at. I have no idea.

I guess maybe maybe maybe Aubrey, the kicker. That's probably it.

Okay, that's never a good sign when you say that. What do you think is happening with the Ravens right now at four and four, Marcus? If you're in that locker room right now, what? Like you're Calais Campbell, you know, you're Derek Henry, you're Kyle Hamilton. What?

What? What's going through your mind? It's a lot of angst, a lot of probably feeling like we don't have a shot. I mean, look, the elephant, obviously, Rich is Lamar and his availability. You and I have talked about that, and it's unfortunate, dude.

Like, break your thumb, you're fresh off a high ankle sprain. It's not like these injuries are are from him being. A crazy football player, or trying to do something unbelievable. You know, those are two plays, routine plays. That those things either happen or they don't.

And I, you know, the other part too is like there, there's an overall arching conversation about the future with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. I don't, I think you have to be insane to let Lamar Jackson walk. I don't know the nature of that. Like how all of that's gonna play out, but being a player in that locker room right now, I mean, look, man, imagine if Mahomes goes down, or Josh Allen goes down, Joe Burrow goes down. Like that's the reality.

Is that what you may be able to overcome? What you're lacking as a football team, whether that's defensively, whether that's run game, you were one of the teams that legitimately had a guy good enough to overcome some of those things and hide some of those problems, and that no longer exists.

So you know it's unfortunate. Injuries are a part of it, but. Especially in this particular situation, with a new head coach, and you know the the positivity that we came into this season with with Baltimore. For on the outside looking in, it feels like all this loss, especially when you see Snoop Huntley go down as well.

So it's it's it's very hard in that locker room. You got to be professional. You got weeks left. You not out of anything, but in the back of your mind, it's like, how do we do this? And that's very difficult when you don't have.

I'll even say Snoop Huntley. Because we know the obvious when Lamar is there and healthy and playing at his level, you know, is it fair to say then the Week Ten game Pittsburgh at Cincinnati with Pittsburgh having already beaten Cincinnati this year in Week Three at home? Yeah, is for the division. Yeah, I believe so.

Okay, I believe it is, and kudos to Pittsburgh for that being the case. When I, you know, you asked me about Dallas, there are some things that's transferable that I'm seeing in Pittsburgh. They're pressuring the quarterback. They're pressuring the quarterbacks at a high level now. This defense was very disappointing last year in a lot of situations.

As bad as the offense was. The defense last year was giving up a ton. They seem to be getting those things fixed. Those veterans, we calling the veterans' names a lot about making plays, and the young Hirsik and obviously Cam, who we see here, and you know we we know what TJ is going to do. Jalen on the back end, like this team is starting to kind of round into that mature veteran led team, and then Aaron on the other side is playing phenomenal, even without a super.

Super explosive passing game. They're figuring out ways to win.

Now, the one question going forward is, from an offensive standpoint, is that sustainable in in games that you know you're gonna need to be able to be explosive when the receivers are so inconsistent and like DK make. I've been saying this for three, four weeks. I don't know what has happened to DK Metcalf. Literally, don't know how he doesn't fit him and Aaron. Supposedly has a great relationship.

I have no clue how. He could be he could fade this much, and look, Big Darnell Washington and Fry move, and we know Jalen Warren is playing out of his mind. Aaron is is precise, not turning the football over, playing well. Offensive line doesn't get enough credit for how good they've been as well. But I just don't know how long can you do this without being explosive, unless that defense is creating short fields.

But Pittsburgh right now. Coming off the last couple weeks, is the best team. Cincinnati is the most explosive offense, and we know why. But team wise, it seems like Pittsburgh is putting together performances that kind of look like who they'll be going forward, and that's a difficult team to beat. Marcus Spears here on the Rich Eisen Show, live from Seattle, where tonight Monday Night Countdown will lead you into a massive Week Eight capper between the Bears and the Seahawks, which we'll get to in a second.

It's time for Sports Talk Radio questions. You got to put your marker on the Chiefs of the Broncos to win the division. It is who. It's still. I would.

I would still go Chiefs. Why? I know because Mahomes. Because I think Patrick Mahomes is is going to make the difference. That Chiefs team obviously has their flaws, and K nine has not, Ken Walk has not had two good weeks in the run game.

But we saw some explosive out of the backup R B. Rasheed Wright showed up at times.

Some self inflicted wounds by Kansas City. That game was very winnable by them. And shout out to both Knicks and the Broncos, man, making plays down the stretch. Obviously, both coming alive in the fourth quarter, but. Ultimately, I'm not gonna hang my head on Bo Nix more than I would on Patrick Mahomes, and I don't think this Kansas City team is as flawed as they were last year.

I think they'll be in most of the games that they play, and I'll probably still bet on Pat in those games. Yeah, their schedule matching it up with Denver is is tougher. It's tougher. It's definitely tougher, sure. Which is why you know landing a knockout blow in Denver yesterday would have been very helpful for them.

Yeah. You know, there is a five-game stretch after their home date with the Jets that's coming up this week, and a visit to Atlanta home date with Arizona. Here is the five-game stretch where we're going to find out, right? Um, and it's it's the Thanksgiving night visit to Buffalo, followed by a week later out here against the Rams, and then a Cincinnati Bengals trip. Before a Monday night, that'll be a great one for for you to be zooming in from yeah from just outside of Foxborough and Week 15, and then the San Francisco Forty Nineers.

That's about it, right? I mean, but but Rich, Rich, listen, you like, bro, you've done this at such a high level for a long time, right? I don't know why you're buttering me up, but here we go. No, no, I'm just saying, I'm just saying, like, I and I get it that we do this in football. All of those other teams are like.

Damn, we got to play Kansas City, too. Like this is not like you know. We talk about one team and we bring the schedule up. Like they got to go through this. I just looked at that schedule.

Kansas City, all of those games are winnable. In my opinion, when it comes to the Chiefs, but it's just that that given three hours on on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday that you have to play, you you just have to execute. We saw the Chiefs. With the ability to win that game, if it hadn't been from their own self-inflicted wound, and that's a false start, or you end up winning the Denver game, so those games are winnable for the Kansas City Chiefs. It's just about consistency and putting it together.

And like you asked me about Denver, I'm a bet on Pat Mahomes, right? And for as much as we like, this is what I love about the NFL. For as much as we say, well, this should be the case, and this should. Be the case, and this team is—we have no clue. Like I'm thinking about Dallas.

Dallas is bad, so don't think I'm comparing the two teams. Dallas is a bad football team, but Arizona beat Seattle early in the year. Nobody would have thought that would happen. I mean, I'm sorry, the Commanders—that's right—beat the Seattle Seahawks early in the year with with Mariota, right? Yeah, with with with with the backup quarterback.

So this is. The league.

So most of the time, we have to get comfortable with with not knowing. Certain things, but if we have to project and base and think about, we always going to harken back to history or those guys that we think are going to play at a high, significant level when it's really down to the nitty gritty. And I'm not going to take Bo Nix over Patrick Mahomes. Marcus Spears here on the Rich Eisen show. The Lions with two big time home home stand wins against Green Bay and then Minnesota.

Yesterday, Green Bay started Week Eight with a win at home over Carolina. That said, all of that, do we see the eventual NFC North winner on ESPN and ABC tonight? Yes, you do. I think we do. I think Chicago.

I would bet on Chicago, as hard and difficult as that is to say, based on what Detroit just did against Minnesota. But we know where Minnesota is highly flawed at from an offensive standpoint. I don't think you can give enough validity or. Excitement about Jefferson as being a part of the Chicago Bears now. Like I know that when we do this for a receiver or running back, people lose their mind and they go crazy.

Three technique defensive tackles change football teams. They do. That's the the reality. Is is that if you have one of those guys, and Jeffersons is one of those guys, what I consider a top five player at that position in the league, and they can become a force multiplier, as my dog Mike Tannenbaum likes to say, and everybody else around them benefits from them being on the field. You only get those those multi.

Mentional players, they few and far in between. That's why they get hundred million dollar contracts. I think he changes everything about what the potential of his team could be. He is that good. He just has been playing with a team that hasn't been in the conversation for winning games.

And now that we're gonna be able to see him on this stage with a team that can put points on the board, and you would think that they would be in more pass rush situations in time for him. To impact games a bit more than he was able to do in Tennessee, even though in Tennessee he was an All Pro, Pro Bowler, making making phenomenal plays and helping that team win games or be in games that they probably shouldn't have been in. I think we just underestimate that a little bit. And I love like Kelvin Shepard is my LSU brothering. The way that he got that defense to to get better, and obviously they got players off an injury, but you know praying for Jack Campbell, hope things turn out good for Man, we all you know, we all thinking about him and want him to be good just in life.

Hopefully, he can play football because I'm sure that's what he's going to want to do. But just in life, just health in life, I can't talk about them without saying that. But he's done a good job of getting that unit to be respectable and keep them, you know, baseline. But I think Chicago may have tipped the scales with with Jeffersons, and I believe this wholeheartedly, Rich. If Caleb Williams tonight performs like we like we think he has the potential to do consistently over time, he's going to be in the top five quarterback conversation in the NFL.

We got a Seattle defense on Monday Night Football. Him and Ben Johnson. We got. All of the makings of the games that we remember—the Josh Allen taking that step, and Lamar Jackson taking that step, and Patrick Mahomes taking that step—there are games that are kind of like lines of demarcation for us to say, "Okay, he really is that." I think tonight is one of those games where if he plays out of his mind and plays well, you already know what your conversation is going to be led by, and the whole. Sports media world.

If Caleb Williams goes out, it has a night tonight. What are the odds of that happening? What do you think? I think the odds are good because I respect. I respect one.

His offensive play caller is elite. In Ben Johnson, what about the what about the guy dialing up the defense though? I was just as a lead. I was just about to say, I'm sorry, but but but but that's but that is my exact point, Rich. We there is no excuse.

There is nothing we will be able to say if Caleb Williams performs well. We won't be able to say, "Well, Seattle had guys out." Mike McDonald didn't do it. They got one of the best defensive minds calling that defense. That defense has speed. That defense can cover.

They rush the passer. They do all of the things at elite level. This defense just gave up three points to Kansas City. They they took Kenneth Walker off the map, who was in the MVP conversation before that game. What else can we say if Caleb Williams goes out and balls out?

And I think I think he can, but I also love the level of difficulty that it's going to be for him because you need these type of games atmospheres on the road against elite level defenses for people to stamp down. That now you one of those guys. I'm excited about that opportunity for Caleb Williams, and if he doesn't. Guess what we gonna say?

Well, got some. He got more time. We got to see it a little bit more. We know he's talented. We know he can throw.

We know he can extend plays. But sometimes doing it in different games in hostile environments, or they make a difference. That's why I hate when coaches say, "Well, it's just another week." That's a damn lie. Every game ain't the same. There are indicators and things that you get from particular games that you walk into the following week, saying, "Okay, we at another level." The reason why the Chicago Bears traded for Jeffrey Simmons is because they think their quarterback is on that tier, and their team is on that tier, and they have a chance in the NFC that is not particularly wide open, but wide open.

I think the San Francisco Forty Nineers are still. Best team, but I don't think Chicago is far behind now with the acquisition of this guy. I think Seattle is a really good team. You're gonna get a chance to play them tonight.

Some other teams may emerge. You obviously got your own division where you got good teams, but this is a this is a people gonna be salivating if Caleb Williams plays well tonight against this defense.

Well, I mean, you're you're you're absolutely on the right track here, man. I don't think you're overstating it. Because the whole business of Caleb's first year, we're throwing it out, right? Yep. His second training camp as a pro, his first one with Ben Johnson.

We were all we were hearing is he's drinking out of a fire hose. They're throwing everything at him, and it seems like that's when he began to really start a quarterback school, if you will. Right? And he's been studying, and he's been taking tests. And tonight is the biggest test of his career.

It's the big one. And if he passes it with flying colors, right, then he now is accepted. He can enroll in elite quarterback status on shows like ours, the one you're doing tonight, the one that we're doing together now, the one that you're going to be doing tomorrow, right? Like that's that's where we're entering that. We are.

That's what tonight is. Is what it's about.

So before I let you go, let's front load. You kind of touched upon it. Let's front load the next step. Caleb does pass.

Okay, he passes with flying colors, and he runs with flying colors. Right, he does it all. Do you put them in front of San Francisco? As the favorites in the AFC, you do if if they win this game tonight and Caleb plays at a, I'm not talking about 175 yards and two touchdowns, Rich, and they win, right? I'm talking about, and maybe not 300.

I'm talking about consistency from the pocket. You making critical third down conversions. You being able to use your legs, the command that you have on in in probably the most hostile environment in in the National Football League. If you can go in this environment, yeah, and be the Kayla Williams that we've seen, yeah, now consistently over time, we have to change the conversation. Can't wait for tonight, man!

You fired me up. I was already fired up. This is this is a this is a Monday night game where I have in a minute. I'm going to have questions answered that I have been anticipating. Remember, I told you that, Rich.

Remember, I said, Caleb Williams is going to be a superstar. He's going to usher himself into superstardom. He's shown us a little bit of that this year. Tonight, the night though. Marcus Spears, and by the way, next week we'll be all over that Kyler Murray question because it's Buffalo, Minnesota next week.

You'll be, you'll be, you'll be, you'll be zooming in from Skull Country. This one, this one, the getting get good. That's right, we in it. Marcus, as always, a pleasure. You be well, right, my brother.

Ladies, take care, Marcus Spears. Bears Seahawks tonight, Monday Night Football, ESPN, the ESPN app, the Manning Cast is back for ESPN two as well. He didn't stutter. Tonight could be the night. Yeah, I don't think we're wrong to hype this game up in this way, and what could happen in the narrative around Chicago if they win this game tonight, or Seattle erases him too, and then we're talking about look at possible look at champs right?

Zach Charbonnet back, Jadarian Price. Totally, what we're assuming.

Okay, the run game getting going. Jsn doing his thing because the Bears are having trouble stopping the pass on occasion. Yeah, you know I would be ready for that. That's right. Yeah, hopefully it's a shootout tonight.

We'll take some phone calls in a matter of moments. Two different ways to win football games, I guess, in the National Football League, and we saw that on Sunday, Week Eight. One guy, let's say, throws for over 400 yards and it counts for six touchdowns. That's good. That's one way to do it.

Wins in overtime by running one in, right? Another guy doesn't even complete a pass. Wild! Come on. These are two ways to win a football game.

On the screen, radio audience, we've got Joe Burrow. Who was thirty-eight for forty-eight, four hundred and sixty-two passing yards, and six total touchdowns—five in the air, one on the ground, including that one on the ground came in overtime against the Titans. And then the guy in the right is Baker Mayfield, all muddied up because the rain was coming down sideways. Gross. On occasion, oh for three, he threw three passes, didn't complete one.

I thought towards the end of that game. They were gonna let him. They were just like, can we just get the guy a bubble screen so it's not a zero? Yeah, like just flip one, something. Put one in the flat, Chris Godwin.

You know what I mean? It's raining sideways. You know, just give me, just give Baker something. It was pouring. That one was crazy.

It was the easiest. Let's get that that one first here, because he's my boy, Baker.

Okay. Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Once upon a time, one in five. It's not looking good at all. And then Baker throws for sixty something yards in Carolina, and it doesn't matter because they're running all over with Bucky Irving, mostly.

Well, this time around, he got Gainwell involved. Kenneth Gainwell and Bucky Irving together. Just absolutely ran all over first first teammates in NFL history to have twenty five or more rushing attempts and one hundred and twenty five rushing yards in a game. That's crazy! Think about that.

Each guy ran it twenty five times or more, and very well as well. Yeah. 324 rush yards. That's the most rush yards in a game in the history of the Buccaneers, and most by any team in a game since the 2024 Colts racked up 335 yards against the Titans. And I believe Jonathan Taylor had all of those yards.

He didn't. And Baker becomes the third starting quarterback since the merger to win by 15 or more points and no completions and two or more passing attempts. The other two are crazy, man. Your guy Grogan did it in '84, and Chris, and beating the Seahawks 38 to 23. And the other is Todd Marinovich.

Oh, in '92, he was 0 for 3, and he beat the Seahawks 19 nothing. And if you really want to get even more crazy, Baker didn't complete a pass. And the other guy, Penix, completed four to the Buccaneers. Yeah, Baker didn't connect with a Buccaneer, and Penix connected four times with a Buccaneer. Wow!

I shouldn't laugh. It was a rough watch if you saw any of this game. And the Buccaneers now, according to our friends at ESPN Analytics, they got a fifty-seven percent chance to win the division. Cause they're a half game out. I mean, it all worked out for them.

Cause they're now three and five, half game behind the Panthers and the Saints. Hey, great bye week. They're a game out with the Bucks and Falcons in between them. Every year with this division, Baker's best move of the day. Was blocking for Gainwell.

Did you see that one and one of his long runs? That's what Baker does. Baker got out in front. Yeah, roll it. I'm not going to throw the ball.

I got to get active somehow.

So, me and Jesse were out there playing in the mud. There you go. I got to get active. Jesse Bates was he was referring to of Atlanta. You remember he was the one circling this because he wanted to beat Stefanski, right?

If you had told him, "Hey, man." Um, you're not going to complete a pass in that game. You know what I mean? He'd be like, "Hey, that's one of his big moments of the of of his podcast tour that he went on at one point during the off season, right?" He was asked after the game if he spoke to Stefanski before it. Did you have a chance to talk with Stefanski either before, after the game, Victor? Ladies and gentlemen, Baker Mayfield.

No, it was perfect about that. It was. It was not only the nope. It was the head nod. Head nod.

Yep. Nope. Nope. Crazy. That that that's how you can win a game in the in the NFL.

By the way, holding Bijan to fewer than ninety rush yards in a game. That's the fourth straight time he hasn't run for ninety.

So Atlanta's next. You know where they're going next? They're going to Spain to take on the Bengals. You got one guy who doesn't complete a pass, and Baker winning a game, and then you got another guy who all he did was complete passes against the Titans team that was ready to roll.

Okay, they lose Jeffrey Simmons. But not the spark. Note to everybody else, right? Because everyone's thinking this thing's a wrap in Tennessee, and it may be. But they showed up, man.

Yeah, they played hard, man. And the Bengals were forced to come up with a second consecutive 13 point comeback win. First team with multiple 13 point comeback wins this season. First in consecutive weeks since the Saints of the COVID year in 2020. How about them apples?

But Joe Burrow, man, happy no Jeffrey Simmons. Four hundred sixty-two yards, five touchdowns. He did throw three interceptions, and he ran one in first career game with five passing touchdowns and four hundred pass yards. He's never done that before. I got an old Jen stat too.

If you want to get that ready for the end of this segment, Cam Ward had a nice game too. Yeah, twenty-six of forty career high, three hundred four pass yards, two touchdowns.

Well, I mean, Joe is not to be denied, and with the Steelers looking the way they're looking, they kind of had a. I know I'm going a little high register, going four and three, losing at home to the Titans. That's not the way you were going to win this division, and they got to stay within handling distance of Pittsburgh because they've already lost to Pittsburgh in Week Three. You want to put it up the Bengals' schedule. They lost to Pittsburgh week three.

That game at Pittsburgh or home for Pittsburgh on a Sunday night when they come back from Madrid. That's fun. That's a big one. That's fun. That's a big one because they're home for Pittsburgh.

Got to win that. That's a Sunday night, and then there's the Monday night at Washington. Eleven. Their game against Cleveland against the Chiefs. I said, I said.

Well, for week fourteen, they can win a bunch in a row here. I said they were going to win the division prior to the season. Got some grief from my friends in Baltimore, and right now I'm feeling pretty good about that prediction. This looks like thirteen wins. It works good.

I had them as my number one sleeper team because who had them as the thirteen win team? That's what my point. Oh, how is how how could Joe Burrow be the quarterback of a sleeper team with Jamar Chase and Chase Brown and T. Higgins who went off again? It's because no one was thinking they would win thirteen games.

They could. Oh yeah, man! But isn't that amazing? Two different ways to quarterback a team to victory. That's why everyone says you know wins is not a quarterback stat.

Yeah, we should just take that away from Baker Mayfield. Just turn around and hand the ball off. Yeah, I mean, just look at it. That's that's nuts. Two different quarterbacks who are winning.

One completed thirty-eight passes. The other one completed none. One threw it three times. The other one threw it forty-eight times. Crazy.

And both looking good to win their divisions by the end of the year. Whatever it takes. Eight four four two zero four. Rich, we'll take your phone calls when we come back right here on the Rich Eisen Show. This very busy Monday edition of our program.

Old gen stats. Only two quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League have had a game with 450 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and run rushing touchdown in a single game. Joe Burrow on Sunday, and Norm Van Brocklin, September 28, 1951, against the New York Yanks, the game in which Van Brocklin set the single game passing yards record. That's your old Jen Stats here on the Rich Eisen show. Old Jen Stats.

There you go. Very nice. Speaking of old, it never gets old. Whenever we on the Rich Eisen show insert ourselves into the sports news landscape, as we did this past week, Jared first started after week four. Browns and the Steelers kicked off Week Four Thursday Night Football.

Jared Verse talked about how the offensive line of the Steelers played dirty. He played dirty, and he couldn't wait to see him again.

So when we had Cam Hayward on Tuesday's show in his usual spot, Cam didn't bring it up. I did. Right. I even said I'm going to stir it up right now. You did before playing that soundbite for Cam.

Hey, you're going to finally see him again. He wants to see you again. Your team. What do you think? And he basically said, you know, it'll be addressed.

The comments will be addressed.

Well, the Steelers addressed them.

Well, the one in particular after the game. Of the Steelers, twenty-seven to six win over the Browns, baby. Which they sacked to Deshaun Watson eight times, tied for the most in the game by any team this season. The Jets sacked the Browns and Deshaun Watson eight times in week eight times in week five, and the Steelers just put the bang thing on the Browns. The offense and Jalen Warren did the rest.

Man. Twenty-seven six, and it didn't even feel that close. Although Harold Fannin tried to do his best to make it a little bit closer. True, his first Browns tight end with one hundred fifty receiving yards in a game since Ozzie Newsome in nineteen eighty-four. Speaking of old gen stat, but it's never old when we try to stir things up, and then people talk about it.

Certainly when they spell our name right, Jaquan Brisker. After Jared Verse was bagged in the game, had this to say: "You should have kept his mouth shut. All that talking, and you know, to come out with zero tackles. I mean, that's bad. You know, you didn't stand behind what your words, and you didn't stand on business.

So he got looking himself in the mirror, and you know, get better." Wow. Rico Dattle has the floor on the subject matter. Rico. I just talked. I told him out there, y'all be doing is talking.

We got zero sex. Jared Verse, comment added extra motivation and extra juice going in. No, we didn't need no extra motivation. No, just it's bullet, bullets and board material. But it's a division game, and I think this rivalry speaks for itself.

So we didn't need any extra motivation. But we got a great win.

Okay. Okay. Jared Verse stood up there and took it after the game. Oh. I stand by everything I say, and as a man, you have to naturally do that.

I think we could have definitely done more to just present ourselves as the team that we are. We didn't—I don't know who the hell that team was that walked out there and presented themselves. We didn't do enough across the board from the first, you know, from the first quarter to the last quarter.

Okay, all right, good for him for standing. Did you see Mason McCormick, the left guard, at one point? Took Jared Verse in the air and threw him down to the ground. Got 15 yards. He said he didn't know it was Verse.

Okay. Yeah, I don't buy that. Yeah. Oh, roll it, roll it. I really had no idea who it was.

Just felt somebody jump, and we're told to get jumpers' hands down. That's really it. That's awesome. Came Hayward back on the show Tuesday. I know we're going to talk about here at a sack.

I wonder if he's going to be pissed that I he had to answer questions about it based on what he said here because I asked him. He would have been pissed had they lost, like more angry. Yeah, we'll see what he's like because he was asked about it after the game.

Okay, didn't. Can't say I was looking for him, but you know there was a there was a lot of people you know Buckeyes I wanted to see.

So yeah. Just a game. Was it motivating for you guys as a group? Not motivated by that. We were motivated because we wanted to get this damn win before we got to the bye.

So there's bigger fish to fry. I wanted to see the Buckeyes. Yeah, hug it out from their loss to USC. I guess. Oh boy, Steelers six and two, baby.

Huh? Six and two. First place, yeah, all about themselves. Mike Tomlin was holding this team back.

Okay, got it. That's nuts. Last time they were six and two, two years ago. Remember that when Justin Fields got them off to a nice start, and then Tomlin went to Russell anyway. They went to eight and two, eight and two, and then the wheels fell off.

But they're six and two right now, half game in front of Cincinnati.

So you put up their schedule; they are on that bye, and then they've got their visit to Cincinnati. They win that, look out! That's Sunday night game. It is. Let's go.

They win that. They take care of business. They sweep the Bengals, and you could make the case there. In the Catbird seat of winning this division, they visit Philadelphia. Boy, that game the day after Thanksgiving against Denver that could be, depending on what happens with the Bills between now and then.

And the Bills take on Kansas City the game before they finish up the Thursday night triple header Madden celebration on Thanksgiving night. That could be for the first seat in the conference. Then two nationally televised games against the AFC South, home for Houston, when you know they want to give a piece to Houston, the way that it all ended last year in the playoffs, and then they visit Jacksonville on a Monday night. Two games against Baltimore, which who knows, depending on the injuries, could have a U-Haul backed up. If Jesse Minner is already talking about keeping the team together right now in Week Eight.

Home for Carolina at Tennessee. All right, we see a Pittsburgh. Remember, Joe Manganiello came on the show. What do you have? We're winning eleven, twelve games.

That's not out of the realm right now. Stay healthy, Jalen Warren is killing it, killing it. Yeah, yeah. They got two good backs.

Now Rico's Rico had a touchdown. And by the way, they're doing this without Michael Pittman right now. Yeah. Okay. Okay.

We see a Pittsburgh, their playoff team, and the Browns are the ones that are on the outside looking in, and we'll see if they can start putting points together more consistently. That's the issue for them. Yep, right now. Thanks for listening to the Rich Eisen Show podcast. That's five out of six years with hybrid SUVs like the premium and capable Palisade, the adventure-built Santa Fe, and the tech-infused Tucson.

Which means at this point, the shelf will need its own structural support system and a dedicated construction crew. Probably need those little visitor hard hats too. Visit U.S. News Best Car. Cars at cars.usnews.com, and visit hyundaiusa.com for more details.
