This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. She's real fine, my four nine She's real fine, my four nine, my four Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show with today's guest host, our Christian Body Shop Guy, Jerry Mathis. I say this calls for action and now I'm going to save all my money and buy you. Good morning and welcome to Christian Car Guy Radio.
I am Jerry Mathis from Rape Body Shop and Record Service, Christian Body Shop Guy. Filling in for Robbie this morning, and in the studio with me, I have Mark Flint with Williams Barbecue and Hot Dogs. Good morning to everyone. Happy Easter. Yeah, we're going to talk a little bit about Easter, too.
But as we get ready to go into the show, This morning was kind of unexpected for me to be here, and I'm glad I called Mark and he was able to join me. But And I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say much about this story because I'm gonna let Robbie Tell the story and how God was with him. And looked over him. He was in a traffic accident this past week, and so he is at home recovering. And when I said I wanted to kind of start out a little bit different than I normally do, one thing I would like to do is.
For the next hour, if somebody has a Robbie Dilmore story, just call in and share it with us. And I know Robbie's listening, and what I want to start us out with. is just I'm gonna start out with prayer, Mark. I mean, one thing I'm gonna lift up Robbie and Tammy, that continue to heal them. And I know Robbie's desire for those listening in the Ramsor area is that he'll be at church tomorrow morning preaching his Easter service.
I pray that that happens, and I feel pretty confident it will because if he's got it in his head, he's going to do it. He'll make it happen with God's help, that's for sure. But I want to lift up Robbie and Tammy. I also would like to just lift up our military. and our police officers and first responders.
And also, what this Easter season is about, because I think too many times, we're going to kind of touch on this this morning, Mark. what the Easter season has kind of You know, sort of evolved into where people don't even talk about what true Easter is about. It's more about all the. The eggs and the egg hunts and the chocolate bunnies and all of that stuff.
So As I said, I want to open this up in prayer this morning. Dear God, first and foremost, I just thank you for your son. I just thank you for what Easter does mean. You know what? We always celebrate two big holidays.
It's Christmas. Which is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And also is Easter. the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour. And you know what, Christmas really wouldn't mean much without the resurrection story.
And I just thank you for that. I thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to come on this earth to die a horrible, horrible death. For me and for Mark, and for all of all of us that are just for mankind, you know, we have a responsibility, and that is to humble ourselves and and look to Jesus Christ and give our lives to your Son. Also, this morning, I lift up Robbie and Tammy as they are recovering. Nothing but great things I hear from the recovery and the surgery.
And I know that Robbie got to go home yesterday, and I just praise you for that. And Lord, I just. Pray that you'll put a hedge of protection around them and also that you'll bless tomorrow. Also, just lift up our military. We got a plane that was shot down, and there's.
We're in a world of conflict in so many ways, and Lord, there's so much bitterness and people drawing sides. The one thing that can make a difference, and that's Jesus Christ. I lift up our local police officers and firefighters and first responders throughout this country. Again. We all know the answer and when we Grab that little book that we all lean into, the Bible.
It certainly has those answers in there, and the answer is in Jesus Christ. Apart from that, we live in a world that's going to be troubled. It's going to be full of sin. But we have the hope of Christ. We have the hope of his death and resurrection.
I just thank you for that. Thank you for this season that we're in, the Easter season, that we're able to just. Kind of just take a breath and just realize just how much you love us. In your son's name, I pray. Amen.
Amen. Well, Mark, one of the things I want to talk about first off is, you know, the Easter season. And I I kinda started looking back and and Every time I go into a major holiday like like Easter, I think about how many kids growing up really know the true story of Easter. I mean, you think about it. I know you're involved in church, and it'll be a big day for you tomorrow.
Poplar Springs? Yes, it will. Yep, be a big day. And it'll be a big day at Pinedale and churches throughout America and and Robbie's Church in Ramsey will be a big day 'cause that's one of those events on a Sunday, Easter Sunday and the the the Sunday following and leading up to To Christmas. Are always big.
That seems like that draws people in there. But you know what? God tells us to be drawn in there every day, every moment of our lives, and stuff. And I think. we have got to be a s we have turned into a society that is we don't teach our kids about what Easter's really about.
Yeah, they think they think it's just full of eggs and toys and just Having a good, you know, just like being like Christmas, you know, they don't know what it's really about. Yeah, it's all about that that that basket in the morning, what kind of candy you're going to have. You know, and even for us adults sometimes I think we can lose sight of that. We get So caught up in the busyness. I know for my family, we'll get together a couple of times.
We'll get together with Myra, my wife's side of the family. We'll get together with my side of the family tomorrow. And sometimes we can just get so Caught up in the busyness of it instead of just slowing down. And I always say the Christ like, I'll go back to the Christmas story. I think it's just so important as a parent, as a grandparent, or uncle, or aunt, or just as a Christian, we need to take time.
With the younger generation. And I think you can start pretty early. And I've had conversations this past week. With a Couple of people that are Christians, and I'm not Because I understand you raise your kids the way you need to, but we need to raise our kids to know and understand. Jesus Christ and the grace of Christ and the hope we have in that.
But The conversation kind of struck me because their kids weren't that awful young. And somehow we got on the subject about do they really understand the what what Easter is about. And well, the answer was, well, you know, I don't really want to talk about the, you know, they don't understand that crucifixion and They went into all that and I said, but I think you can. Do that in a way that they can understand it. And as they get older, it'll build on it.
You can build on that. It isn't just a story, it's an event. life. It's the real hope we have. But I think we have, in a society, has kind of drifted into the You know what?
it's more fun to talk about the Easter bunny. And I think we're doing harm with the next generation by not doing that. I know when. when I was growing up it wasn't uh Uh my mom was gonna make sure I knew what to Easter story was all about. And that's the importance of being in church, too.
Make sure that they, you know. Uh learn from church itself, from our pastors and people around us and the the, uh, fellowship that we have at church. Yeah, I think and the other piece of that is too many times I think As adults and as Christians, we think that's the. It's the Sunday school teacher's responsibility. It's the preacher's responsibility.
It's the missionary's responsibility to reach the lost. You know what? We all had that same call. The Great Commission didn't have to this one and this one and this one. This is what I want you to do.
It was we're all to go out. and share the good news of Jesus Christ. When we do that. we can impact people's lives. And And when I s the other part I I like Whenever I get Mark in here, and I always bring this up because it's really important to me.
is I think we have You know, when I say we need to make sure that we are instilling our faith into our kids and do it in a way that's practical for them, where they can understand it, but continue to point back to the truths of God's word. And I've always go back to one thing, and that is when I see Mark and I talk about it because I've I've said it enough, he knows what I'm gonna say is when I was growing up, that was one of the areas and and that was sort of like a special time. where we would go And just sit. And yeah, we would go to poiums, eat hot dogs, sit outside on the stumps, or whenever we used to have the country square wagon, and you open and lower the gate, and we'd sit out there and eat. But what we did also, we talked.
That's right. Talked as a family. And that's become an art that's getting lost and stuff. And I know you see that because how many, I'm gonna ask you a question. How many people walk in the doors on this kind of maybe hard to pinpoint, but walk through the doors and they'll tell you a story.
When they walk through the doors of pollums, it brings back memories. And how many come in and tell you a story about coming up everywhere with their dad or their uncle or their granddad? Oh yeah we have uh uh numerous, numerous people that do that and especially the old timers that comes in there and talks about the same things you talk about. Comes up there eating, watching the airplanes and Hanging out with family. I mean, we still have people that bring their own lawn chairs up there and sit out there at the stumps.
I mean, sit there as a family with their lawn chairs. Yeah, that's really cool. Put the phone away. We'll be back in just a moment. It is a call-in show 866.
348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Gonna save all my money Cause I need to heal Turning it on. Is that helping out of it? Welcome back to Christian Car Guy Radio.
I'm Jerry Matthews, Raid Body Shop, and Record Service. With me from Polyam's Barbecue and Hot Dogs and Jerry Sidekick, I guess you might say for that. That's it. I couldn't do much better, man. I tell you, I'm I would like to tell you again, once again, since this is call-in show, so if you would love to call in and tell your favorite story, Rob, or whatever, but at the same time, you can call in.
And Jerry and I are not going to tell you where we've hit our Easter egg, so don't ask that. But call in, don't ask that question, but anything you'd like to call in, talk about it'd be great. I know we're not going to tell you about the Easter eggs, but also I know Mark ain't going to tell you a special recipe for a slaw neither. And it is a call and show 866-348-7884. This morning, one thing I'd like for the last part of the show is your favorite Easter story.
What what's one thing when you think about Easter You know, obviously we hope it's when we think about Israel, we think about the Christ story and the res death and resurrection, but just a memory from Easter. And Mark, I'm going to give you a second to think about it. And also, I'm going to pull Nick in on this too. I want to know his special story. But as I thought about that this morning...
Always mine is the last time that We were able to get together as a family, my side of the family, before Alzheimer's had set in with my mom and dementia with my dad. And they both uh this would be the first Easter we've had without at least one of them. But I just thought back about that, getting together as a family. And you know what? Too many times we get so caught up in all the glitter and the things.
Really, it's just about those relationships and being with family and just the slower pace and stuff. I remember us. When we get together, we would always go around the table. and tell us something that we're grateful for. And I just I just Cherish that.
I mean, I think back that's that's what I think about with Easter and all the holidays and stuff is a family. That might have to agree with you. I've got s Probably a lot of things I can remember, but I mean, that is a big thing of being around family and and Yeah. having Easter after church, everybody getting together and Just uh having her bre blessings and what not with each other, but I mean, at the same time, even as a kid, I was excited about Easter as far as you know, a lot of times after church they might have Easter egg hunt. And you'd be in the community of family and your church congregation and everybody that might bring might have it where you you uh bring food and tables full of food and you're just out there just in the churchyard just having a big time thinking of the Lord and doing his wheel.
Absolutely. I'll tell you before Nick goes on the air, you know what? I know for me, when I come through these doors on a Saturday morning, and sometimes running in here, I'm always grateful to have Nick on the other side of that glass because I tell you what. He makes it happen, and I am grateful. Appreciate it.
Appreciate it. Okay, Nick, what what'll be your your Easter memory? Honestly, it's this past, I believe, three years because I've been working here at Truth for about three years. And this is one of the first, this is the first job where I've had that I actually get Easter off. Because I would work other jobs where I had to work on Easter or on Good Friday, unfortunately.
But You know, now that I'm able to, you know, I get I get I guess the Easter is off. You know, with our family, we're actually coming together. I just spoke with my mom. She told me our Easter plans, and you know, it's just the. recent memories.
that m that you know really make it Um Make it really feel good. But I'm thinking back. you know I was definitely one of the kids in the in in the church. You know, we did the Easter egg hunt. I was a little bit of the bigger kids, so I would like to go out my way and, you know, try to get the eggs.
I got all the eggs. Yeah, I got all the eggs. But no, it's definitely also just learning. About You know, just How Jesus um died for our sins. Uh and it's just That hearing the story, it doesn't get old hearing the story.
You know what I mean?
So, absolutely.
So, it's just one of those things, just hearing the storytelling, hearing the history. I've always loved history, and that's why I like hearing the story of Jesus and what led to. him dying for our sins, you know, so but Yeah, definitely these upcoming Easters here working at truth, knowing that I would definitely be spending time with my family, and we're all going to be. together For Jesus. You know what I mean?
Yep, absolutely. And I think when people really think about it, it is the simpler things and stuff. And just taking time to just. really reflect on We have Holy Week that leads up to it and and stuff, and you just think about The sacrifices that God made for us and Jesus Christ made for you know, he didn't make it for anybody else, but he did make it for Jerry Mathis and for Mark and for Nick. I mean, for each and every one of us, I mean, Easter's Our story of redemption.
and hope. and strength because apart from that, We sit there and see what's going on in the world. If there was no risen savior, man, how do you how do you face Life. How do you face this life journey we're on? It's hard.
Absolutely hard.
So I just I I hope That if you're hearing my voice and Mark's voice and Nick's voice, one thing that you do tomorrow. Yes. Go to church and celebrate. Because I think it is a celebration of the risen Savior. And also make that commitment.
I mean, make that commitment that. That isn't the only time I'm going to go to church, it's the holidays. Make that commitment that the younger generation, I'm going to be an instrument to draw them closer to Jesus Christ and share those stories. You know, it's just too many times we just get wrapped up in all the The busyness of it. Yeah.
And I'm just one more thing. I like that you used for this time around grateful. Because you know, Yahweh comes together as family, and you know, through Thanksgiving, we talk about how thankful we are, but there's a difference between grateful and thankful. if that makes sense. And I think I'm very grateful for, you know, Just this time that we're and and you know how can we can reflect back on him Amen.
Again, this is a calling show. We'd love to hear your Easter story. What's a special memory? 866-348-7884. Mm-hmm.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Here come the Dodge Boys. Those good guys are back with a look in their eye. They mean business this time. Their deals are great.
Now's the time to buy. See the Dodge Boys now for a new kind of deal.
Now here's a car partner you just can't beat. Coronet's the name and it's a real family treat. Feature for a feature. Good morning and welcome back to Christian Car Guy Radio. Again, I'd like to hear your story, what your memory is from Easter.
Also, Mark, I'm going to go through before we get off the air. I'm going to suspend just a minute because you just had a claim and there was a. I always try to pick out one thing that I get the most questioned about on the body repair end of things that I can talk on and speak on. And this is going to be something that'll be that you've experienced that I'm going to talk about. And I want to make sure that everybody knows that Ray's Body Shop did an excellent job of it.
We appreciate that, that's for sure. Also, if you, like I said, this is a calling show 866-348-7884. And I want to hear your Easter memory. And also we're gonna yeah we're also gonna continue to lift up Robbie and Tammy. And right now on the on the line I have uh RK and I'm RK, I want you to tell us your Your Easter memory, favorite Easter memory, and then also what do you have out of the garage?
It's going to give us some advice. You want both?
Okay. Yeah, I want both.
Okay. Uh I was I was born and raised in West Honors, New Jersey in the Eagle Rock Reservation. I was up the second was on the first mountain. It was We lived on the bottom of the mountain and then there was one street up above it and then the mountain came. And what we Easter Sunday morning they had uh sunrise service.
And we if we got up early, we went we got up to the second street up and then we walked a hundred steps up to the to the reservation. And it was so beautiful because it would overlook the city when you got up there, overlooked New York City, you could see it. And I'm going to tell you one morning We were singing It was they started singing gospel music and things to the Lord. And the sun There was a flash And the sun pops up. It was so beautiful.
I I can remember Feeling Jesus right amongst us. Like he came out of the sun and sat with us. I remember that and the whole crowd I think the whole crowd hushed for a second. It was so beautiful, you know. It was just something that that I never saw before.
Oh, how could how could anybody deny the Creator. No but I'm glad you mentioned Sunrise Servers too 'cause that yeah, that's a A must to go to if you Haven't and I mean if you can Bear getting up that early in the morning. He needs to walk up the mountain. Yeah, but it wasn't always tried to do it. What's going on in the garage, too?
What are you working on? I know you've got some kind of project going.
Well, I'm gonna tell you I had a little project and I still have a project. Uh twenty fourteen Ford Edge uh needed to parishioners a car needs uh oxygen sensors front and rear and a bank running censor one on both thanks. In the front bank, you can get it off.
Well, I've been having trouble because last week I put an adapter on and I couldn't get the induction sensor out. I put an adapter 3.8, a half-inch adapter, half-inch to 3-8. and put a four inch brake four foot braking bar with a pipe on it. Hmm. The adapter broke.
The adapter broke. The oxygen then loosened up. I hit the floor at about forty miles an hour and my coccus my bone Button is really sore, and I ripped the tendon of my arm. I don't know how I did it, but I'm all right, I'm back together. But holy cow!
And then they said the next one to do is easy, just get up underneath it and do it. There's no way I gotta take half the engine apart on top to fix the. He fixed this car. Oh, yeah, yeah. They don't make cars to be repaired anymore.
I mean it's they make it I tha I think they spend all their time trying to figure out how to make them complicated. And not make the parts as good, so you have to do it. And you can't use cheap parts, uh the the Chinese parts I can't use, I've used Vensco, which is chup triple the price, but they don't but they last. Triple in time, you know. Yeah, absolutely.
Well, R.K., I appreciate you calling in, and y'all have a great service tomorrow. Yeah, please do.
Okay, so Pray for Robbie and Tammy. Absolutely. And and b God is good, and I look forward to being able to rob you back in our house. God is good, and God is here. Absolutely.
That's right. Amen. Amen. Amen. Okay.
Thank you.
Well, one thing I told Mark, I was going to share a little bit of uh something Well, we lost Daryl from Utah. If you get a chance, you can call us back. Um Insurance, car rental, body shop. There This is something that we deal with a lot. And it's very confusing if you have an accident.
And You have, if this is a collision claim or a comp claim where it's coming out of your insurance company. You have 30 days rental or thirty dollars per day in which you can't rent a rent a car for thirty dollars a day.
So most of the time it doesn't. actually run for the whole thirty days.
Well now Back years ago the body shop Somebody goes in a rental, but now everything is electronic. and we have to online, we're we're having to update When a car, the whole process, it's going into disassemble, it's going into reassemble, it's in body work, it's in paint, it's in cleanup, it's ready for pickup, completed. At that point, the insurance company We all Basically, say that's where the repair stops. I mean, that's where the rental stops. And they're not very clear on that with the policyholder.
And we can kind of, we try to make sure that people understand that when we log that in. That all of a sudden you could be liable for the additional cost. And we see it all the time where people go down, turn their rental car in to come pick the car up. And will owe for a week or two or three days. That's the reason why they love taking your debit card number and your credit card.
Because they'll take that so that if that. does happen, they're not it's not going to be on it's going to be on your end, not theirs. Yep, they're the rental car companies say, well, you can stay in as long as you want to. And then too many times vehicle owners, if you're in an accident, don't realize that that That 30 days or $30 a day is rolling because we'll have people that will get in a rental car. a week or two weeks before they bring it in.
Well when that when you're you're when you've met your limits, then all of a sudden it's on you. And a lot of times you'll bring it in, and parts have to be ordered. If a part is not available or discontinued or on backorder, it all of a sudden pushes it past that time limit or dollar amount And then you're again, you're responsible for it.
So it's just always good to just talk to the body shop you're going to to make sure that. You understand what's going on and make sure the shop is going to keep you aware of what's going on because a lot of times. I've seen this in the industry where a car will get done and they don't really follow up.
Well, we told them it was going to be done Friday, but they never really follow up with it. And so then all of a sudden, somebody calls the next Wednesday and says, My car done? Oh, it's been done since last Friday.
Well, the insurance company knows it was done last Friday. You could end up. That's about what happened to me with talking with you because I you know, here they did they did that this week. You know, you're done with it. I thought, well, they get in touch with us late Thursday.
Can I wait till next week to get it? And then it came up that that deal that I you know, yeah, just like you say, you can yeah, you can keep it, but But it's going to be on you. You're going to have to pay for it after because you've had to turn that that you're finished with the product. Yeah, and it's it's just now just because of the technology and the the Internet, it's it's so every day we have a list that we have to update them. And it just makes it where, you know, my worst thing, and I hate when somebody goes down and gets surprised.
Because when you're not expecting to go down and have a few hundred a holler of rental bill that you weren't expecting. That's That can put somebody in a bad place. And of course, rental car people. They've got your credit card, so they're going to get paid. They will, definitely.
And, you know, so when I say that, I just want to make sure people understand that. The body shop is kind of strapped. on how long they can keep you in that rental car. They can't put you in it or take you out of it, but they can. Can try to negotiate and navigate you through the process.
And that's why it's just so important to always be upfront. Because I know when Mark had his accident, one thing we talked about is, you know, just drive it till we know that it can get in and get started on. Because if there is hidden damage, supplemental damage, and yours is a perfect example of that because it, you know, you saw all the damage. That was available as you see. That you couldn't see what was.
When you take the grill and the bumper off, you realize the radiator is damaged, the AC condenser's damaged, the rebar is damaged. And then you have to order all of that stuff and all of a sudden then you're worried about getting, if you'd have brought it in earlier and then had to wait on that to get in, you could end up costing. The the vehicle owner. We don't like like you made a recommendation too of not necessarily the rental company, but make sure you watch the rental companies that you're renting from. These these people are really good.
You sent me two. Yep, yep. We have a good relationship with them. Again, 866-348-7884. Have you ever planned to motor well?
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Gonna save all my money and buy Turning it on. Welcome back to Christian Cargy Radio. Again, got a few minutes if you'd like to call in with 866-348-7884 to hear your Easter memory. One thing before we go off the air, Mark, I'm going to throw something out to everybody.
If you're in the Winston-Salem triad area, Let me see here. 12 o'clock, meet me up at Polyams and we'll do a meet and greet and have a hot dog and be able to see radio personality Mark Clinton. And a really good hot dog in barbecue.
Well, thank you.
Well When I sat there, and I just did want to make sure that I want to hit back on the fact of what this season is all about, and that is it is Easter. And how important it is that we make sure that we tell our kids and You know, the true Easter story. That's right. And it shouldn't be about. You know, all the eggs and the having the basket tomorrow morning when they wake up.
But too many times we feel, I think also as Christians and conversations I've had. is, you know what, that's just when you start telling the the story of Christ crucifixion and And what happened leading up to that, it's just too graphic, and I just don't want to talk to my kids about it. But there's ways to do it, there's plenty of material out there. that can give you an opportunity to do that. as they get older, you just build on it and and kind of get and and and they'll be interested.
Th it'll it'll s them to want to do it. Even my parents and we've done it with our kids and our grandkids, one of the great things you can do is go to your local Bible store or whatever and get 'em a a a story book for kids. Yeah. Sit there and read 'em. Read to 'em about the the Christ, the Lord Jesus, and how He rose and all.
I mean, you can buy these and get 'em get 'em started. Yeah, and I think well and and I think tomorrow Um You and Sharon are going to be the greeters in the greeters on the children's. Church of Popper Springs, yeah, we'll we'll be the greeter. We'll be welcoming you, so if you want to. If you wanna Be like a, you know, if you want to come, we we won't you don't have to go to a certain part of the church to But if you want to be greeted by us, come on and see us, as well as going to Pinedale, too.
So we've got a Yep, it'll be a I hope it'll be a big day, and I hope it's, you know. Like I say, I say that kind of and a little bit sad because, yeah, it will be a big day. But you know what, our churches should be. full every Sunday and whenever their doors are open and stuff. That This shouldn't be just the holidays and the big day.
Everybody's looking forward to having a big day.
Some people have a big day. You know what? I hear that for the last few weeks from all churches. You know what? We should have those big days every Sunday.
That's right. I mean, we just feel blessed. That uh Poplar Springs that you we were in November we were able to go to two services that were getting so big, but you know, it's Yeah, go to First servers, second servers, whatever you feel is But, yeah, go to church and listen to the the The Word of God. Yep, and when I, as I've mentioned a couple of times, just how important it is that we instill that in our the next generation. you know, church is a great Place to do that.
I mean, you know, go and check out the church. There's this. that no matter where you're at in this country or in the world, Check out churches and see one that, you know, first of all, always say, man, get in there and look and make sure what you're hearing is what. God's word says. Because there's Some out there who have kind of went to the uh seeker mode where you kind of fluff over the the gospel.
You know what? Just just just see what God's word says because that's gonna be the difference between heaven and hell. And think about when you're going down the road.
Now, this time of year is really great 'cause so many people put out crosses in their yards and You know what now I actually saw an article and I'm gonna I've never paying attention. I don't know what kind of pine tree it is, but I was watching reading yesterday on the article a lady was showing a video where there's a pine tree that blooms this time of year. and it's it's got a bloom that comes out of it and it's it looks like a cross and it goes up toward the sky. Huh. And she showed me a pic that she showed a picture of it in her yard.
I I said, Now that's something that I'm gonna look for Well, you know, that that's that's pretty cool, the fact that, you know what, we can We can use that use nature. That's right. And You know, we can take an You know, I I think the the important thing about holidays and stuff and Easter and Christmas and even Thanksgiving season and and and Memorial Day and when you have events, man, it's a great opportunity to invite people to church. That's right. It is, definitely.
You know, it's just so many opportunities that we have, and sometimes we don't take advantage of it because, you know. Ultimately, the problems of this world can be solved. And that's in relationship with Jesus Christ. You know, God didn't create us to be in. conflict.
But he also Created a world that was perfect and didn't have that, but man entered into it, and our free will and our sin nature put us where we're at today. But also, through Jesus Christ, we have a hope. Yeah. And way outside of it. And there's so much media stuff out here that people say, Well, shoot, I can just go online and watch a a sermon or watch it later, but it's nothing like being there.
Nothing like being there. Nothing like being in the church with people surrounded around you that Believe in God and what they do, you know, it's just a whole different feeling. Nothing like being there live. We got Carol from Winston on the phone. Carol, how are you doing this morning?
Hi, Cystine. And what I had to share is kind of what you all are already talking about, and that's some of the special events that. That churches are having. And we went this week to the Holy Week readings that the Moravian churches have. The Passion Week manual is just like a harmony of the Gospels.
So each day you read about the life of Christ in the week leading up to the cross. And um Just hearing again what he did for me. on the cross. It's good to remember. And it's only in hearing the scriptures again and that we do start to realize more and more of all He's done for us, the riches offered us in Christ.
People, I'm sure, can order those online. uh the Passion Week manual and get together and kind of make a new memory of of reading that together each night. Oh, absolutely. I just appreciate y'all talking about the real meaning of Easter. Absolutely.
Thanks for your call. You know, I love. The thought of just getting as a family and stuff is just sitting down and read those stories. And stuff. I know, you know, for my daughter, I mean, growing up, that was one of the things we would do and stuff is just, you know, Easter season, we'd read the stories.
Christmas and then When just different occasions, whenever she'll be going through something, she was growing up. find a story in there that would touch on that. and stuff. Just being in and that goes back to what we talked about earlier with Mark and stuff. It's just Just slowing down and spending time.
And spending time in God's Word is man, it's powerful. Very much. And I'd also like to say I appreciate Robbie's lessons in Hebrew. When he talks about that, it's just such a blessing. Yep, Robbie is a special friend and just I'm continuing this week to lift him up in prayer.
And I hope all the listeners will also. Indeed. Thank you.
Carol, thank you for calling. Yeah, thank you.
Well, Mark, what would be the. Thank you.
Mark, we're about ready to wrap up. What would be the one thing you want to leave us with? It just Keep on believing and and Pray in. And just Y'all have a wonderful Easter, everyone. Absolutely.
Don't forget what the season is all about: the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior tomorrow morning. If you haven't already have plans, figure out where you're going to go to church tomorrow morning and honor our Lord and Savior and celebrate the resurrection. Have a great Easter weekend. Happy Easter.
