The following program is recorded content created by the Truth Network. Yeah. It's Matt Slick Live. Matt is the founder and president of the Christian Apologetics Research Ministry, found online at Carm.org. Here's Matt Slick. All right, buddy, welcome back to the show. It's a nice Monday and hope you're having a good day. Hope you had a good weekend. If you want, you can give me a call.
As usual, all you gotta do is dial 877. There we go. 877-207. 2276. Excuse me, call it 877202072276.
Alright, uh got a bit a bit of uh a prayer request. Um Charlie Spine's on the board of directors here at Carm. He's actually the guy who. Introduced me to apologetics back in 1980. He'd read me a quote from Joseph Smith, where Joseph Smith boasted he did more than even Jesus to keep a church together.
And it made me so mad that I started studying apologetics, going to classes with him.
Well, he I've known him for, you know, since 1980. And um Just got word that uh had to call the ambulance, take him to the hospital. And I haven't heard any word. He was pale, couldn't get out of a car. Um You know, and things like that.
So it's a serious thing. If you guys would, I'm going to pray for him now. And if you would pray with me, or real briefly, for Charlie. Yeah, it's tough. Anyway, Lord, we ask that you'd bless Charles, Chuck, and ask you to be with him and just bless him where he is.
And for all those who are lifting him up in prayers, I pray, Lord, thank you for them and ask that all the prayers combine and move your hand, Lord, to heal Charlie and/or direct the doctors according to your will. And we ask this, Jesus, in your precious name, Lord. Amen. And so, yeah, it's tough. Charlie 72 is diabetic.
And what's interesting, he has a son. who never believes uh in calling an ambulance, but he calls the ambulance. And his son's a walking quadriplegic, believe it or not. There's like 12 in the world. And I've met two, actually.
Which is rare. But at any rate, he broke his neck of body surfing in Southern California, and he can walk, and this sounds counterintuitive, walking quad. He's a quadriplegic. It's like uh ninety eight percent or something like ninety five percent of his neck nerves are are severed, but there's just enough for a signal to get through uh to the point where he can stumble forward walking kind of thing. He looks like he's drunk.
He likes to joke that uh during an earthquake he's the only one who walks straight.
So anyway, uh it's been a you know a tough time and and a lot of stuff that Charlie's gone through and uh Guess how you lift up in prayer? as as we move forward. If you have a question on today's uh today's date is actually uh August 10th, 2026. If you have any questions, you want to give me a call, you can. The number is eight seven seven two zero seven two two seven six And um Yeah.
Got a couple things to think about. I'm talking here, but I think I'll jump into something here in a sec. Give you the email address also if you want to give me a call. Or excuse me. If you want to email me, all you got to do is send an email to info at carm.org.
Info at carm.org. And put in the subject line radio comment or radio question, and we can get to them when we get slow. Um All right, having said all that, I hope you all had a good weekend. I went to a church yesterday, an evening service. I haven't been there in several years.
Uh, reformed church, and it was fine, you know, nice service and good sermon and stuff like that. And it's too churchy for me. I'm a Southern California guy. I like real simple services, but they were really great. People were great there.
And had a conversation with the pastor. Um who I try to remember all the details. But apparently, he's aware also that young people are moving towards the Eastern Orthodox Church. Uh in droves. And I've heard this before.
I've heard it many times. I haven't seen it. But that's probably the case. And when I go online into various uh online worlds, Where there's Eastern Orthodox worlds, let's just say, in metaverse. I had one of those 3D glasses things you put in your head and you can walk around and you have hand controls and stuff like that.
I used to use to witness. And about 98% of the time I witness, sometimes I go fishing in there, catch a few fish, and get a couple places, relax. And uh it's nice. But at any rate. There's young people there in these Eastern Orthodox things as well.
And uh It's uh Wait a minute.
Okay, if you could clarify, Charlie, I mean Laura, what? Just to clarify. Which Charlie? I could have gotten some details wrong.
So, um. Anyway, uh Yeah, I got a little distracted there. That's okay.
So we just found out, but right before the show, right before the show, I mean, within a minute of the show starting, I found out about this.
So uh there's that. But um The youth are going there, and I want to comment on an article. that I'm writing, I'll release uh in an hour or two. um working on a a a really Bad. bad argument that an Eastern Orthodox Ortho bro brought up.
Just horrible. And it was on the Marlon Wilson show. Where I was on, several others were on with the East North Dogs. I'm telling you, they're hostile. And they don't listen, they don't think critically, they don't think logically.
It's really bad. Oh oh, it was Chuck's son who collapsed.
Okay. Oh boy, oh boy oh boy.
Okay, so I've got that wrong. Just for a correction, it wasn't Charlie, the guy who founded. Um, I mean, who got me started? It was his son, the walking quadriplegic, and um. Uh Okay, so there's this and that.
So he's the one who collapsed. And. Like I said, he's one of the like I've heard twelve to fifteen in the world. entire world are walking quads and he's one of them.
So there you go and pray for his son. Um Wow. Collapsed.
So there's a lot of problems, a lot of issues. Chucky, we call him. Chuck's my friend's son is the one. And I've had many conversations with him. He's also Eastern Orthodox, as a matter of fact, but uh We've had many conversations.
Uh he still calls me Uncle Matt. you know and um and stuff like that. But at any rate, so appreciate the prayers. And now for that clarification, my apologies on the confusion, but it happened right before the show started. And that often leads to confusion when you're rushed and things like that.
All right, let's get to Christopher from North Carolina. Christopher. Welcome. You're on the air. Hey Mac, good afternoon, good evening.
Good afternoon. All right, buddy.
So what do you got, man? What's up? Yeah, so um Excuse me, sorry.
So I'm not sure if you've seen like what's going on, but um You know, in the charismatic world, about like basically about submission to leadership. And even there's this YouTube channel. Remnant Radio on YouTube. Uh, have you heard of them? Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, they just did a a video today on John Bevere's book about the mission to leadership. And basically, his take is like: hey, you submit, if he says, wear blue socks, wear blue socks.
So my question is, what does real biblical submission to leadership look like? Yeah, it doesn't work out like wear blue socks if they say, because that's cultic, it's manipulative, and it's an excess of what's called shepherding. There was a thing called the shepherding movement, it was dominant in the 80s and early 90s, where you had to do whatever the pastor said. And that he's your spiritual leader, therefore, he can tell you what to do, what to dress, when to move, when not to move, and such other foolishness, absolute foolishness. And such teachers need to be severely rebuked for their abuse of power and misunderstanding of God's word.
You know, Paul warned us that many false teachers and false prophets will arrive. Jesus says that, but also Paul, and going after doctrines of demons and things like this.
So, the goal of the pastor, and I'll go to the scriptures, I'll read you what they're supposed to be able to do. And this is out of 1 Timothy 3. Just clear. And it says, let me move this window down a little bit. It says, an overseer, and this is often used in.
In a juxtaposition with elder, which is a pastor. A pastor is an elder by default. It must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. He must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control.
So, and also, he needs to be able to, as Titus 1 says, he needs to be able to teach sound doctrine and refute error.
So th those are what you're supposed to do.
Now If you go to a church, Let's say I was your pastor. Let's say you're coming to my church. I'm a pastor again. And um And I hear that you're doing something that's not really biblical. You know, maybe you're, I don't know, whatever.
And I just take you aside: hey, man, what are you doing? You know, and we just talk. I don't say, what tie are you wearing? You've got to change that tie. That's ridiculous.
It would have to be an issue related to scripture, to sanctification, to the issues of Christian theology and truth. That's what it's talking about. Not this micromanaging cult mentality where they're the ones in control because they're over you. And that kind of foolishness is to be rebuked severely because it leads to cult type behavior and control.
Okay. Mm-hmm.
Yeah, yeah, that just the the Blue Socks were just an example that uh kinda gave. But but uh I have you ever heard of Bob Umfer? No, it doesn't ring a bell.
Okay, well I guess he was really big into the shepherding movement. uh along with like Derek Prince apparently. And um Well, anyways. Bob Mumford's uh really close with uh my old church and I no longer go there because there were some issues.
So, yeah, anyway.
Okay, cool. I just wanted to, you know, get your insight. Yeah, I'm very familiar with it. It's just cultic stupidity from people who call themselves pastors. This is why we need good elders who know sound doctrine, who great.
who politely take them behind the church and have a discussion with them. Say, don't do this.
So in a cave? you know, and I I won't ask him any questions 'cause I know there might be other people, but like in a case where it's like someone leaves the church because like they disagree with like the doctrine Um, you know, what what is like In those cases, like, okay, is that person in sin? Because it's like, hey, I'm coming to you about this legitimate thing I'm speaking to you. It depends. There's a lot of variables here.
Like, I could go to a church, you know, I'm all millennial. I could go to a church that's premillennial. You know, I'm Reformed. I could go to a church that's not reformed. And I'm not going to leave unless they start causing divisions in the body of Christ by separating truth from error in such a way that others are looked down upon, which frequently happens in situations like that.
And that's a problem.
So it depends on your maturity, your understanding, what you think before God, and what doctrines you consider important. Like, I don't like going to a church that has hymns. I'm just not knocking them. I just don't, it just doesn't feed me, you know. And so a lot of people do.
So that's just not my style. If I was going to a church and they said, we're going to start doing hymns, I'd be saying, okay, I'm going to find another church. And it's not a complaint or a whine. It's just, it just doesn't work for me. That's a legitimate thing when I find another place, you know.
And so it's not like, you know, he wore blue socks. We'll keep running with that one. And therefore, I can't fellowship there.
So we have to have legitimate reasons. And we do have preferences. We want to be able to be ministered to legitimately. And if there's something blocking that for whatever reason, go find a church that you can fellowship in and serve God. That's all.
Okay, Yeah.
Okay, cool. I was just getting your insight.
Alright, Matt, appreciate it. How we doing? All right, man. Thank you. God bless.
Okay. And pray for your friend as well. Yeah, his name's Chucky, and I've known him since he was, well, you know. And he really, seriously, he's one of the rare walking quads. He's told me that doctors will sometimes meet him so they can say in a resume they've met an actual walking quad.
That's how rare he is. Yeah. Anyway, all right, buddy. Go away. God bless.
Okay, you too. God bless.
Hey folks, we'll be right back after these messages. We'll get to, let's see, next longest waiting is John and then Jermaine. Please stay tuned. We'll be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. Alright away, and welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it is so easy. All you got to do is dial 8772072276. Let's get on with.
Oh, there we go. John from Colorado. John, welcome. You're on the air. Oh, here's John again.
Um that's okay. And you think 16.9, which is make friends for yourselves by means of wealth. Oh and yeah. Make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so when it fails to receive into eternal dwellings. Yeah.
Well, can you please explain what that means? Sure, it's in the context of the unrighteous stewards.
So give me a minute here, because there's a lot of cultural context people are not aware of. and this is an eschatological salvation parable. There was a rich man who had managed, and it was reported to him that he was squandering his possessions.
So the rich landowner. Had a manager, a steward, who would then represent what the landowner wanted to the people who worked on the land. And the rich guy called him the landowner, the manager. What is this? I hear about you, give an account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.
So he's hearing things, he doesn't just go off what he hears, he wants evidence.
Okay, given accounting. The manager said to himself, What shall I do since my master has taken the management away from me? In other words, he's guilty. He's done wrong. This is why it's going to be removed.
He knows it. What shall I do, since my master taken the money management from me? I am not strong enough to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
So he's in a predicament. I know what I'll do, so that when I'm removed from the management people will welcome me into their houses. He summoned each and said to master's debtors, He began saying, How much do you owe my master? He said, A hundred measures of oil to take your bill and write fifty. Said another, How much do you owe?
He said a hundred measures of wheat, take your bill and write eighty. And the master praise.
Okay, hold on. Let me finish this, okay?
So, the manager, what he's doing is going to the people saying, reduce your debts and pay them off. The people will think that the manager either curried favor with the landowner, or the manager is the one representing the landowner's desires.
So there's two ways that a deal could be brokered between the landowner and the people on the land, and that was through the manager. Either the landowner would institute it of his own free will, or the manager on behalf of the people on the land would work and try and get a deal. Either way, the manager is the one representing the wishes of the landowner to the people.
So the people will look at the land as the manager as one equivalent to the landowner.
So when he says, take your bill, write it a lot less. It could be, they don't know, but it could be that they're thinking the manager is the one who worked this deal. And/or the landowner is the one who voluntarily did it.
So, what's going to happen? These people are going to rejoice. They're going to have parties. They're going to say thank you very much. The landowner is so great.
And/or the manager is really great. The Bible doesn't, the story doesn't tell us which one. But both of these are within the possible minds and hearts of the people who receive the blessing.
So they are going to now rejoice.
Now, if the landowner finds out what he's done. And says, No, I want all the money.
Now the reputation of the landowner is at stake because for two reasons. One, the landowner can now look like he's just a uh just a misy, just money hungry guy. And they'll hate him for that. His reputation will suffer. If, on the other hand, it's the manager who did this without his permission, the landowner looks bad because he doesn't hire he didn't hire a competent guy.
Either way, the landowner is going to lose, lose face, lose reputation, lose anything. If he starts to say Look, that's not what my will was, so that's not what I wanted. He's going to look really bad. Either way, so he stuck. In that culture, man's reputation was critical, and it was critical to his business if he was trustworthy and competent.
So this manager knew this. In his man in verse 8 of Luke 16, his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly.
Now, what was the manager want to do to take care of himself? when his life was getting tough. And this is what Jesus says in verse 8. And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he acted shrewdly. For the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.
And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will receive you into eternal dwellings. Notice what he says: receive you into eternal dwellings. What's hidden here is that the issue of damnation. Is so critical that you can you better get to heaven. And even if your motives aren't great, even if it's because you don't want to suffer, but you go in, it's not the best motive.
That's worth it. This is what's going on here. It's not that Jesus is praising theft and lying, but he's praying the shrewdness of a man who counts on the mercy and the grace of the landowner, representative of God. For his ability to be able to be welcomed into eternal dwellings, in other words, into the homes of the people. That's shrewd.
That's what's going on here. It's not an issue of praising unrighteousness, but the shrewdness to make sure you're taken care of, and this can be ported over into the salvific issue. You better make sure you're making it, because eternity is a long time to be wrong.
Okay?
So, second point, Matthew twenty four, forty-five. Yes, who then is the faithful and sensible slave his master put in charge of his household to give him food at a proper time? The Jehovah's Witnesses use this a lot, saying that they are the faithful and discreet slave, the watchtower organization, which is false. But this is eschatological and it's in the context of Matthew 24 of being ready for the return of Christ. That's what's going on.
Who are the ones who are presenting the truth of God's word?
Well, certainly not the Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox, or the Muslims, or the Jehovah's Witnesses, or the Mormons.
So, who's the faithful and sensible person? Who is the one? And that's the question that needs to be answered.
Okay. Okay, so this entire thought process is the main topic is If we are here or the rapture. and the tribulation has taken place. And the markers come. We could debate all that sort of thing.
But if that happens, then we're still here. and we can avoid dub marks. By some other Way. In terms of commerce. in terms of acting the right way in Congress.
to avoid that mark. No. But I'll still be able to buy it. No, Luke sixteen is not the same thing as Matthew 24. They're different contexts.
So you've cross-pollinated them, that doesn't work because they're not tied together. This is simply a parable of the unrighteous steward. and what follows it is the rich man in Lazarus. Going, you know, that that whole story.
So, Method 24 is different. It's about the end times and who's the one doing what's right in the end times, etc. Matthew 16 is about the means of getting to heaven. Uh even if your motives aren't pure, even if they're not that good. Good for you if you get in.
So people will tell me, man, it's not right if you don't want to go to hell, and that's the reason you want to go to heaven. I'll say, that's a good reason not to want to, that's a good reason to go to heaven. to not want to go to hell. It's a good reason, and it's mentioned here in Luke 16.
Okay, that's the point.
Alright, well, be shrewd. You don't want to go to hell. My main topic was. Is there a way to avoid the mark if you happen to be?
Well, that's a different topic. Hold on, we got a break. And yes, there is a way to avoid the mark. by simply not taking it.
Okay, but we'll be right back after these messages, folks. Please stay tuned. Back with John. We got a full set of calls waiting. We'll be right back.
Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with John from Colorado.
Are you still there, brother? Still here.
Alright.
Okay. So, uh where were we? I w I was telling you about uh Yeah, the separation of categories between Luke 16 and Matthew 24.
Okay, what was your other question or?
Well Mm-hmm. A lot of people are in debt. And those deaths are in their own name.
Okay. So that. If it were possible, when the mark comes, they will say, Look, you've got to have a mark. Oh. On your your hand or your forehead.
If you want to buy or sell.
Now what if we could have a third party do that for us?
So we wouldn't be forced to take those marks at all. You got the third party entity. Doing that for you. You could still. Get that entity.
Because you control it. to deliver whatever you need to you. We're talking black market kind of stuff. The prophecy is that. It's not black market.
It's perfectly legal, actually. Yeah. The prophecy is that he is in political control and will cause people to receive the mark of the beast on the right hand or the forehead in order to buy and sell. And so when people recognize that that's a problem, there's going to develop a black market, which I'm fine with, to avoid the issue of that.
Okay. It's not going to be pretty, it's not going to be fun. All right. Is it possible to actually like pay for a personal phone call for like 30 minutes. like three or four hundred bucks.
With who? Good job. Oh no, I wouldn't do that. I don't charge money for a phone call. No, I don't do that.
All right. Well, I'm just wondering if I've stumbled upon something important or not. No. No, no. I'm just saying that I'm just saying that we don't know what political power is going to be, what it's going to look like.
It might be that AI is the beast. It might be that AI is semi-sentient. Who knows? There's so many theories out there. But there's going to be a necessity to take the mark.
This is possible in one scenario that's being examined, that if it's AI that is in control of everything and keep track of everything, that's how you're going to be required to buy and sell by receiving a certain mark that it'll require.
Now the in my opinion, and this is just an opinion. the surveillance System that's being developed in America, which people are not aware of, and flock. cameras And uh Phone tracing, computer tracing, verbal recordings is being set in place. A lot of people aren't aware of this, but it's true. And we rely on technology more and more.
And You know, our bank accounts are on cards.
So you know, you can go to a cart. If you don't uh have a social score that's high enough, they say you can only spend a hundred dollars a week, or whatever it might be, or cut you off until you comply and get the mark. It's like the stupidity of the vaccine, the jab. That was, maybe it was a field test to see how many people would submit to it just because the government said to. I never did, my wife never did.
And many of my friends never did because we knew We knew this was bogus. I did my study, figured it out, and it's bogus. I did stuff on the CDC. Uh and I got banned on on YouTube for it. We wouldn't mention stuff here on the radio.
There's a lot of charlatan idiocy going on.
So, if people are just going to bow down and start taking jabs because the government says to, and you can't have a job unless you take it, This is a precursor to the idea of receiving something and submitting to it in order to have your livelihood. This is why I tell people periodically not to go panic here, but you need to prepare. You need to have food stores and gold and silver and cash on hand. And that just not to panic, but that you have to prepare yourselves. Because the Bible says the Antichrist is coming.
When's he going to come? Don't know.
Now, later, 100 years from now, I don't know. But we're to be prudent and prepare. And that's what the Bible tells us to do.
So you get assets. Get a good safe, you take your papers and you put them in a fireproof safe, you do what you got to do. And uh you just get ready, okay. Stuff like that. And I've written on this and written articles.
Okay. Yeah. What about the part that says don't worry about your life? What's it gonna eat? Yeah, it it's right.
It's not a contradiction. We're to prepare. The Bible talks about the ant in the Proverbs. He's preparing for winter when it comes. Or she.
All ants are female except for the drones. And so she prepares. And that's what you're supposed to do. That's what we're supposed to do. And so there's nothing wrong with that.
So prepare, get ready, and don't be so concerned that you have to have every detail worked out. Leave it up to God. But on the other hand, you know, get food stores. and uh stock up on stuff. And we do that anyway.
It's called a refrigerator. People will stock up they'll get milk that lasts two weeks, or bread in their pantry that lasts two weeks, or whatever it is. And uh they're preparing. You're storing.
Well, keep doing it. Just prepare a little bit longer, for a longer time. A little at a time, that's all. And then don't forget the tinfoil hat, because you'll need that too.
So this correlates again to Matthew twenty four forty five. What if some of us could be that one of pursuits. Uh Well, it Who's the faithful and and discreet slave or sensible person? It's a Christian. You study the Word of God, you learn the Word of God, you learn what the gospel.
If you were that guy. You study the Word of God, you learn the Gospel.
So, you can then recognize what the error is. You can refute false groups like Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Islam, Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Christian Science, New Age movement, Spiritism. You can refute them. And in the meantime. No, no, no, no.
It's not food, food. It's spiritual truth. This is what we are called to do. Oh. Okay.
And this is be ready for the coming of Christ. That's what the context is. Be on alert.
Okay?
You don't know when Jesus is coming back. We're talking about spiritual food. No, the word. The word of God. Yes, knowing stuff.
That's what I do in the radio and on my website and in impromptu discussions. I teach biblical theology, been doing it for a long time. And that's why I try and get people to understand biblical theology.
Okay, so they understand what the truth is, so they can recognize error and run from it, turn from it. And you know, when someone starts saying, look, you can't buy or sell until you have this card or this mark or this thing implanted, you Yeah. Don't do it. If you have to starve, you have to starve. I was thinking in purely economic.
context again. But I'm wrong, right? Uh n uh no. Um So So I'm just saying that what you need to do is Just know your word.
Okay. and prepare. Like we always do that anyway, insurances preparation. Just continue with this stuff. That's all I'm saying.
And be ready, because we don't know when the Antichrist is coming.
Okay. If I could help others. to extinguish their debts. A guy that owns Five houses. You could rent in just a room I got.
And all of a sudden, I figure out a way to extinguish all that doubt. And all of a sudden, this guy's my friend now.
Well, that's okay. I don't know if that that's the issue. But if you have the ability to help people, it's best to help people. That's all.
Well, I'm also a foolish person. I own nothing, I have no money.
Okay, it's very wise. Then why see things? I see the economic system and how it works. And I could do that. And if I did, That guy would be so grateful.
I could probably live red free in one of his houses.
Okay, I'm not sure what that is, how that works with you, but. I'm just giving generics. Study the Word of God, know what the truth is, be ready for be ready for the arrival of the Antichrist and hopefully won't be here for a long time. But in the meantime, prep. and be wise with your your money and ask God to use you.
Okay?
Alright, buddy, we gotta move along, okay? We got callers waiting. Who do I pay for a private phone call? No, you don't. Look, I don't do private phone calls for money.
I don't do that. All right? And we're having it's a good conversation here anyway. And so uh there you go.
Alright, buddy?
So just call back another time. All right, we're going to move along because we're running at low on break time here. Man, it's already 20 to the hour. Wow. what happened.
Let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, welcome. You're on the air. So No, hey, Matt. Yeah, happy Monday to you.
Hey, you too, brother. Yeah um so I want to ask I hear a lot of people who Believed I mean, I know there's a debate over whether Christians can be demon-possessed. And The question I have never heard addressed is what if someone may be demonized and then becomes a believer, does that mean they still need some form of deliverance or whatnot? It depends. Okay.
According to Matthew 12, 42 through 45, Jesus said, When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, It comes back, it finds the house, the body, the person. Empty, not indwelled by the Spirit, it couldn't come back in. The implication is a Christian cannot be demon possessed.
Now let's talk about what happens after such a person who's possessed becomes a Christian. after the break.
Okay, right back folks after these messages, please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everybody, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Jermaine, the wonderful.
What's your name? Hey, buddy, you're back on. Yeah. All right, Matt. Yeah, just um I don't hear a lot spoken of of people who may come to Christ who Who are possessed.
and who desire deliverance. You know, I know that there's no real I haven't really heard that topic discussed or fleshed out thoroughly.
Well, okay.
So let's. This is a broad topic, and So let's say there's an individual who's involved in witchcraft and then becomes saved. The any demonic spirits inside that person are gone. It does not mean that automatically the oppression. That has been gathered around that person doesn't mean that that instantly goes away.
that person can still have friends in those circles who then cast spells or try to invoke demonic spirits, etcetera, and can invoke problems or bring problems to that person with an inclusion and movement of the demonic forces upon that person. either by a sincere desire to help or a malicious desire to harm. And so this is one of the The possibilities of someone who can be demonically oppressed. even though the person is now a Christian. There can be instances that once a person receives Christ and is delivered right then and there, that there aren't any more problems in that realm.
He just enters into the normal life of a Christian having normal problems.
So there's variations of these both these extremes, so to speak, and variations within them.
So, uh It just depends on a lot of stuff. And I've recently had a discussion with someone within the past couple of weeks about. Activity in their house. And we went through a series, I went through a series of questions with them. Where I said, is this happening, that happening, any gifts given to you by friends outside?
Any this or that? What's happening in the, you know, all these things, looking for doors. Because even though there are Christians in the house, the Father is a federal head Christian doesn't mean that there can't be demonic influences going on for a variety of reasons. This is why it's just a broad topic. I wouldn't mind teaching on this sometime.
Put up a lesson plan on it. Because I used to be involved in it before I was a Christian. All this idiocy.
So at any rate, uh I wonder if I'm making any sense at this point though. Yeah, I think that makes a lot of sense. And I guess it's a topic to pick back up and. This guy is very interesting. And I think you're the guy to bring it up.
But I appreciate that answer. It's okay.
Alright, good, buddy. Good, man. All right, Jermaine. Remember, you're always welcome here anytime in Idaho. You got a place to stay.
Yes, sir. I am praying on that. But God bless you, Matt. See you later. All right, God bless.
All right, it's Jermaine. He's been calling for a long time. He has good questions, he's a great guy. Really like that guy. Let's get to.
Oh, my goodness, Stephen from Scotland. Wow, hey, Stephen. Welcome, men. You're on the air. Hey there Matt, hello from Scotland, the land of Hag is Fisky and last but not least Jon Knox.
How're you doing? You know, I always imagined John Knox speaking in my kind of English, not yours. And so I just got sobered up when I started thinking, what if you talk like this? He probably did.
So, uh,. It's good stuff. All right. All right, but I've got two questions if it's possible. First question is on communion.
I've been thinking about it recently. Should we be taking leaven or unleavened bread, or does it not matter when it comes to communion? I don't think it matters unless it matters.
So Okay. If it's important to you, then have uh unleavened bread. And if it's not important to you, then you don't need to. The reason I say that is because I don't see anything in Scripture that necessitates that we only use unleavened bread. Most probably the Lord's Supper was unleavened bread.
But this is part of the Old Testament law, which was abrogated and made obsolete, Hebrews 8.13, with the arrival of the new covenant, which is by the death of Christ, Hebrews 9:15 through 16.
So we could make the logistical biblical argument that we don't need to follow that Old Testament style law. of that. The supper was probably unleavened bread, and that's why I urge people: well, you know, just try unleavened bread. But there have been times, you know, my wife, you know, as her health was decaying, we would have a little Bible reading time, a little church service on a Sunday in our house, and she hadn't had communion in a long time, and so I got just regular house bread. and I had a little bit of wine, I think it was white wine, and uh we just had a little communion together.
And I think it's perfectly legitimate legitimate, excuse me.
So that's why I'm saying Have it unless you shouldn't. And it depends on what you think is right because the scripts aren't exactly clear on it. All right, brother, thank you very much. And then my final question, if I may. I believe and one said always said, but let's listen to a Christian.
He calls himself a Christian today in our show. And he Says that you can lose your salvation, and he took us to a Bible verse in 1 Samuel 16, verse 14. I'm wondering if you could give me more context on that verse, please.
Okay, first Samuel what? Fourteen, sixteen. First First Samuel sixteen fourteen. Oh, sixteen, fourteen. All right.
Yeah. And this is what he says can bring you to lose your salvation.
Now, the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord terrorized him. It doesn't mean that Saul lost salvation. There's a bunch of theology here. One of the things is that it departed from him. What does it mean to depart?
Does it mean that his protection was gone? Does it mean his anointing was gone? And the evil spirit from the Lord terrorized him? What does it mean?
So, what this guy is doing is he's presupposing that what it means is Saul lost his salvation. It doesn't say that.
Now it's possible logistically that it could mean that. But if he's going to assert that's what it means, he needs to demonstrate that's what it means, not just say, well, that's what I believe.
Well, he's entitled to a belief, but he needs to just say something like, This is my opinion. And that's what needs to be restated there. Another point is that there's a discussion about whether or not a person could lose his salvation in the Old Testament because the blood of Christ had not yet been. shed, and that once it was shed, you could not lose your salvation. I don't agree with that.
I don't agree with that at all. Another view is that the Spirit of God was not really indwelling people, but upon people. Because Christ's blood had not been offered, and so therefore the cleansing of the temple, we're the temple, could had not yet occurred, so there wasn't a permanent indwelling of the spirit. but a working of the Spirit upon you and around you that could depart. But it doesn't mean you have salvation or not salvation here.
So, this is a difficult area to get through. What we do know is that God grants that we have faith, Lebanese 1.29. And so if he grants it to us, Then he's granted it in Christ, John 6:29. The Old Testament saints who didn't know who Christ was, they could only look forward theologically by faith. Then their justification is secure because they are putting their hope in God and what they knew at that time in the coming Messiah.
And so, I don't believe it's possible to lose your salvation in the Old Testament or the New Testament because then it would mean God goofed. God gave people to Christ for salvation. This giving to Christ for salvation, Romans John 6:37 through 40, is not dependent on post- Crucifixion theology, but the eternal nature of that theological position, because we know that's the case from Ephesians 1:4, and 5, which says that He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.
So, this includes the Old Testament saints.
So, you see, what I'm saying is, I hope that it's not just an easy answer. There's several factors of theological layers to get through. But I don't believe God makes mistakes. I don't believe He saves you so that, oops, you can lose it. I could just see God up in heaven going, man.
You know, I thought this guy was gonna make it. I guess not. He wasn't being good enough. And that's the god of hotheism and semi-god of Mullinism.
Okay. Mm-hmm.
All right, brother. Thank you so much for taking my call and answering my questions. I really appreciate it. Thinking and prayers for Chucky. Yeah, thanks.
I'm going to talk about that again. Don't know if you have any update or anything. I'll ask Laura. She can just text me on my phone. And I can look at it and I can talk about it.
But okay. Hey, brother. God bless.
All right, brother. God bless.
Bye-bye.
Okay. Goodbye.
So, Chucky is, you know, like I said, I've known him for a long time, and it's worth just mentioning here that when he broke his neck, body surfing, we talked about it once, and he said that he was tumbling in the waves. It's called getting hydrocoffin. He used to get tumbled. I've done it many, many times. And you just wait until the rough part's over, and you go to just raise your head, get out of the way, you know, so you can breathe.
And he said he couldn't breathe. He couldn't lift his head. He knew he broke his neck. And so all he could do was just hope. That's what he told me.
He just prayed and hoped that someone would find him. and he blacked out. woke up in the sand with a lifeguard over him. and this the lifeguard had f had This is get this. The lifeguard had glanced over to the whitewash, the foam.
and thought he might have seen maybe some blond hair. in the waves. because he's blonde. and got off You know, stand and ran over there, but into the water just in case, and found him. grabbed him Saw that he knows the he's smart enough to know that what's called ground and pound here.
You can get it's called. You get pounded by the ways. I've had it happen many times. And so he didn't know what had happened. He's unconscious, assumed something serious, packed his head in sand.
That's what. Uh saved them. He packed him on his back, carried him out, and packed his head with sand all around. And I think Charlie Chucky woke up at that point. Paramegus came, and it took two to three months.
before he was able to um to move his feet, to move his toes. Walter Martin was, those of you who know Walter Martin, I got the privilege of meeting him a few times and studying under him for years. uh came to see Chucky. And he was going to leave the ICU. And he wanted to leave and he stopped.
He wanted to leave when he stopped and he couldn't. He says, I need to tell you something. He said, The Lord's going to raise you up. You're going to walk again. and it can be used by God.
And then he could leave. Chucky ended up becoming a missionary in Russia. He speaks Russian now, and he's one of those geniuses with languages. And uh and chess. He's a actually a a na a California ranked chess player.
And the last time I played him I beat him. He was nine. I took everything I had. It's so I still rub it in. Last time I played you, I beat you.
But he was nine. And the only reason I beat him is he just made a mistake. And so I capitalized on it. And that was the only reason I beat him.
So I like to just boast that last time I played, last time I played you, I beat you.
Now I'm done.
So, anyway, Chucky then was able to walk, he got married, etc. And we've had many good discussions about his condition. Anyway, so nothing new. that I see uh Oh, he's getting discharged. Apparently, he's getting discharged.
Okay, that's good news.
So for those of you who prayed, that's good. And just let Charlie know that we're praying for his son, and he got discharged. Hey, there you go. See, this is the body of Christ working with each other and praying. And we could pray also that Chucky will leave Eastern Orthodoxy because he was being used by God in Russia for many years and then got deceived into.
Eastern Orthodoxy. And it's a you know, it's a false religion. But anyway There you go. All right, talking fast, quick and slick. May the Lord bless you.
And by His grace, you'll be back on here tomorrow. And please remember to support us and pray for us. We do need both: financial support and spiritual support. You can support it by going to Carm. Top of the page, it says donate.
We ask $10 a month. A little bit more, a little bit less is fine. and it helps us to keep the lights on, play the missionaries. All over the world that we actually support, and we really do. May the Lord bless you.
There's the music, I'm out of here. And by God's grace, we'll be back on tomorrow. Who do you think it points? Another program powered by the Truth Network.
