Today on Sekulow, we have breaking news as a massive flip up ends a key Senate race. We'll talk about it and more on Sekulow, keeping you informed and engaged.
Now more than ever, this is Sekulow. We want to hear from you. Share and post your comments. For call, one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero. And now, your host.
Welcome to Sekulow. Will Haynes here, joined in studio by Jordan Sekulow, and we are one day. From Election Day, 2026, the midterm elections tomorrow is the last day to vote for many places. You've been able to vote for what feels like a year. I feel like Jordan, but we had some shocking news that happened just yesterday.
This is after a crazy week for Democrat Senate candidates in Alaska. You thought, "Wow, that that's the end of it. That's as crazy as it's going to get." Nope. Yesterday, the former candidate. Candidate for Senate in Michigan, Haley Stevens, who ran a very close race against Abdul Al Sayed for the Democrat nomination, was supposed to attend a unity event at a church in Detroit with Al Sayed and Congressman James Clyburn, who has kind of become the Democrat kingmaker beyond a lot of the leadership.
Remember, he is the one that turned around the Joe Biden campaign in twenty. Twenty, when it seemed like Joe Biden was just going to drift off into the distance, then you got to South Carolina, and everything turned around. He was going to have an event, a unity event, in a church in Detroit with the former candidate for the Democrat nomination, Haley Stevens, and the current nominee, Abdul Al Sayed. And then there was some bickering back and forth between Al Sayed and Haley Stevens on X, and through statements in many places, it all stemmed around that ad that Abdul Al Sayed distanced himself from, but would not condemn, which was put out by the Young Turks that showed people in a grocery store unable to buy bananas or eggs because they had to quote put that seven dollars away to kill Palestinian children. It was disgusting.
It was a thousand-year-old anti-Semitic trope being brought once again to the forefront in a political ad. He wouldn't denounce it, and Haley Stevens took her support away from Abdul Al Sayed. Showed up at a different church event with Mike Rogers, the Republican running in the Senate, and Jordan gave her full endorsement behind him. And I don't think I have seen a meltdown and crash out on the Democrat side like I have with this reaction to her flip. No, absolutely not.
I mean, this is again just to kind of remind people about what's happened here. You had someone running for the Democrat nomination for the Senate to compete with Mike Rogers, and yet what she found in her Democrat opponent, Al Sayed, is that so offensive. Maybe so anti-American because Mike Rogers and Haley Stevens did not have a problem endorsing him and even appearing with him. Has said very clearly, you know, if you're if you're a fan of the Muslim Brotherhood supporting candidates, you know, support El Sayed. She didn't like just back up and say I'm pulling my endorsement from El Sayed.
People should vote their minds here, but I just can't in good faith support someone who treated me this way and is having these comments. And and will it's it's kind of you looking at over. Overwhelming, kind of interesting areas where in Michigan Elsade's lost some traditional Democrat support over the last week, and there is some other reasons why too. But we'll get to that in the show. And it's very bizarre to me that he's doing these interviews that are very, you know, are going to be tough.
You know, sixty minutes kind of interviews two days before an election that you are. Nominally leading in the polls, so do you really want to start getting into the Israel stuff again, the Jewish stuff again? How you see this kids and men win sports, all of that when you're his campaign? He decided to.
So African American voters are not the support has not necessarily been there. That's very important in Michigan, especially for Democrats. Also, Democrat Jewish voters. Who are not just saying they will vote, but are saying they will actively vote for Mike Rogers just because of the animosity that El Sayed is very clear about when he talks about Israel, folks. We're going to break all of that down.
What it means for tomorrow's big election, as well as where the other races stand one day before Election Day. We'll be right back with more on Sekulow about this, but now is the time to support our Protect the Vote campaign and have your gift doubled. Go to aclj.org/vote and donate today. Welcome back to Sekulow. Will Haynes here.
Jordan Sekulow in studio as well, and we want to hear from you. What do you think about this last-minute switch by the former candidate for the Democrat seat in the Senate, Haley Stevens, where she pulled her support from Abdul Al Sayed and put it behind Mike Rogers? Do you think it moves the needle? Do you think it matters? Here's what's very interesting to me, though.
The Democrat Party. This is the party of of inclusion. This is the party of of believe when women tell you something that it is not to to be discounted, right? But all of a sudden, because she is a woman, they are saying some of the most despicable things I've ever seen. They are saying we're concerned that her fiance is abusive.
These are these are mainstream Democrats that are saying it's her fiance's fault. What is wrong with her? Because they can't fathom. That she could be thinking on her own, Jordan. Like that is, it shows you everything they tell you is a lie when they say that they stand for that they are the party of women and that that women have autonomy and it's you know they have choice.
They are the party of giving women choice. And what do we see here? Is soon as someone like Haley Stevens, they don't like, then it's no longer choice. Mentally ill. You're being abused.
It's disgusting.
So not only. Are they going after her politically? And listen, that she's a politician. She's a Democrat. Fair game.
If you're going to endorse a Republican, who, by the way, and you lost the Democrat primary to that opponent, but she had reasons behind it. It wasn't, and it's one of those reasons is Elsaye is not a typical Democrat. Who shares necessarily where she would be when it comes to voting or the kind of advertising and campaigns that his his campaign or him didn't really denounce that that's part one. Is it going to ruffle you know feathers in your party? Sure, but then when you start saying that you're mentally ill or you're you know someone connected to you, a fiance is somehow being violent over this decision, you realize they've never been the party of choice.
There's Only one choice, and it's if you don't make the choice that's politically correct at that moment, because that changes all the time too. But at that moment, then you are mentally ill and an enemy. And we can do anything. That's how I think that this new Democrat Party thinks. Because of this kind of socialist, communist input, we will do anything then to those opponents, especially what they may see as turncoats, to destroy them—not just politically, but personally as well.
Well, and once again, it's not just the party. He's got to be U.S. senator. When you, I mean, you see with his team, and he could call that off. He could say, you know what, she's not coming to our events.
We have a lot of disagreements, but enough of the personal attacks on her. We won. She lost. Move on. I'm trying to run against Mike Rogers.
Instead, they're engaging.
Well, and it's been a full crash out on their side of showing how offended they are that she is thinking for her. An issue that he smeared her as being a a shill for Israel, using anti-Semitic tropes against her because she's a supporter of Israel and because she is trying to push back on anti-Semitism. He used that against her the entire time when she stuck stuck with her principles the entire time here, and when he wouldn't denounce what everyone said was a disgusting ad, even though they didn't put it out. They just said we didn't have any part with that. He could have denounced it, and in Instead, she stuck with her principles, and they and they attack her.
Those tough, and this is just knowing the political world I've been in my entire life, as a working person, and in turn, even before I was getting paid, is that oftentimes you those those really nasty ads will come from outside groups, and it's fine for the person that they are, the opponent of the person they're attacking, to condemn the ad. And not support the ad because it's still going to be out there. That's kind of a known trick. Yeah, you let them say what whatever they want, put it out there, see if it backfires or not. But you can absolutely condemn it, and that ad's still running, and people are still seeing it.
This it's different than to say, "Listen, we had nothing to do with it," and that's the end of the sentence.
Well, if they said we had nothing to do with it, and it's wrong. That would be part two, or we call that group to take it down. It also goes to show the disingenuousness of our media when you have that Anderson Cooper had Haley Stevens on and kept pressing her on what changed, what changed in the two hours when you talk to your friend and then put the statement out, wouldn't let it go, and she gave answers, but he wouldn't believe her. And but then think about what. The media has done recently, and and those on the left as well.
Like we'll take one more moderate example, and then a more extreme example. When when Liz Cheney decided to not support President Trump, she was a hero in the eyes of the left. Not mentally ill, right? And they said she put country over party. They went and they they loved Liz Cheney, who had been someone that the left couldn't stand for so long because of.
Association with her father and her more hawkish views. Then you take the more extreme example, because I would honestly say that Haley Stevens is probably more in that Liz Cheney camp of a of a more moderate example that the media lifted up one and didn't the other. What have we seen recently? We've seen. Platforming of Marjorie Taylor Greene by Wolf Blitzer, having long interviews.
Tell us why you woke up and and left the Republican Party, etc., etc. This is the lady who was complaining about Jewish space lasers. Yeah, remember. And she became a hero. They didn't say, "Oh, she must something must be wrong with her." No, she unraveled.
She had the ability, though, to change her mind and be praised for it. But if you're of the liberal persuasion and you say, "I don't like how far this is going," if you try to put a check on your own party, you better watch out because they are disowning her. They kicked her out of the party. The head of the Michigan Democrat Party that said that. Praised on X, Liz Cheney for putting country over party.
Said that Haley Stevens is no longer a Democrat, and they took her off the website of the state party. That's why, because she still has time to serve. You know, as a member of the staff walked out. Yes, and who's helping her? Anna Polina Luna said, "You can use my staff for any constituent services you need." Right.
It's people rising up saying, "Okay, you know what? This is someone who voted with Joe Biden ninety eight percent." Right, she's not a conservative, but people are able to see. Say it's a Democrat. Right, and he's the one who's driving the meltdown. Saying, "I don't even know what this party is anymore." He's the leader in Michigan, clearly of the party.
Yeah. Oh, absolutely.
So, and I actually think he's he's his voice and where he is on issues. Though he's tried to tone some down and had a horrible time doing it on sixty minutes, which which we should talk about. Yeah, we should talk to because he had he was not good at toning down. Is that this is the new kind of leaders of the Democrat Party? If This election proves to be successful for them.
They are going to continue to move out the the kind of mainstream Democrats, and we're talking about liberal. What we call mainstream, we're talking about liberal Democrats. And start putting in more of these socialist-leaning kind of anti-the Constitution, anti our systems. The you know the Supreme Court doesn't work, the Constitution doesn't work, and who want this radical change? And and that again is the the socialist influence.
And if they've got success tomorrow, I think again Elsae is not just a spokesperson for Michigan. He's he's he's he's kind of like the face of the party. Folks, we want to know what you think. Where do you think, with all of these upended changes that you saw with it being Alaska last week, with it being what happened in Michigan? Do you think it's just a petty political fight, or do you think that it could actually change the outcome of the race?
Call us at one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero. This has been an entire election season that we've heard about blue tsunamis, and we've seen poll after poll. Seem to be way outside of the realm of even logical, and then you find out some were actually just fake. Where do you think it lands right now as we head into? It's a very pivotal election tomorrow.
Have and you are you in a state that is a highly contested election? Where whether it be Ohio, Michigan, Texas, we know we've got a lot of Texas callers. What are you seeing on the ground there? We'd love to know one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero. But we also are hard at work here at the ACLJ.
One there's. Many states have already ended their early voting. There's still a handful left that you may be voting in. But if you see something, or you're concerned about something, or or there's any irregularities, you can call the ACLJ. And by call, you go to aclj.org/slash-election-hotline.
If you're concerned that maybe you weren't able to cast your ballot and something seemed fishy, or or you hear of anything that you are concerned about, you can go to aclj.org/slash-election-hotline. We have attorneys that are getting alerts as soon as things come in that are assigned to it immediately to take a look at it. Not everything that seems off is something that is off.
Sometimes there are just things that are confusing, or especially with the way the ballots are these days. In every state, has a different way of handling it, but our Attorneys are there to give you the confidence that your vote will be cast if you are an eligible voter and have the right to vote in this country.
So, we encourage you. If if there's anything you have questions about, aclj.org/election hotline is the way to get in touch with an ACLJ attorney. But also. We've been talking for more than a week now about the projects we have going on, the investigations we have going on in California, in New Jersey, in Maryland, across the country, where there are anomalies with the voter rolls, where states are trying to keep. Those that want to inspect them out—they're trying to hide the ball here—but the ACLU is digging in, and we couldn't do it without you.
So we have our Protect the Vote campaign, something that ACLU has worked for decades on, ensuring the free and fair elections of the United States are upheld. And you can support that vital work at ACLU.org/vote, where your donation is doubled today. Welcome back to Sekulow. Will Haynes here, joined in studio by Jordan Sekulow. We'll have Rick Grinnell joining us a little bit later, but I think as we go into this, we have to look at a few things as well because I kind of pose the question: Do you think that you know this is just a squabble between two Democrats that had a really bitter?
Fight for this nomination, and El Sayed thinking that he is entitled to the support of the party because of he won, and therefore he should. Normally, traditional wisdom is people fall in line and support the nominee. And Haley Stevens is bitter because of how closely. And remember that election. The all the polls said that El Sayed was going to win by ten plus points.
And it was very, very razor thin margin. I think less than a percent, and our producers can give me that exact data. But it was very close.
So the polling was off significantly. And then you also have to couple that with El Sayed is very upset by this publicly. And his staff is very upset. Democrats across the country are are going so aggressively against Haley Stevens for changing her mind, and can't fathom this. And then you look at the polls, and you're like, "Huh, okay.
Let's take a look at that. Maybe he is concerned because he's only up in the Real Clear Politics average five point three percent, and if He has polling error as severe as it was in the primary. He would lose by a landslide to Mike Rogers, so maybe he is concerned. Maybe that is why he's trying to go on sixty minutes at this point. You'd think right now, not even worth his time to sit down with Ross Douthat and give this interview.
But instead, he goes on there, and remember, this entire squabble with Haley Stevens is over the ad about Israel that came across as extremely anti-Semitic, because basically saying you, an American, can't afford groceries, simple grocery items, because of Jews. That's the entire premise of the ad. That all your money has to be taken and given to Israel so that they can kill people. That's the premise of the ad. We've gone through ad nauseum how wrong that is.
How it's not even remotely factually correct. If you even add up all the foreign aid, it's the American people give across the world. It's not even a full percent of how much is given out annually. But regardless of that. Here is a question posed, and the way that Abdul Al Sayed has this almost moment that you think he has practiced this line so much, he's not used to the reporters calling his bluff on it.
Right? Let's listen. This is about the Palestinian issue. You got to listen close to it. It's it's the language is.
Not the not clear which maybe he wants, but it's it's almost like he's this is a top issue for him. Everybody knows how he feels about it. He still can't really explain it, or he just gets caught thinking, "Why am I doing this?" You know, two days before, here we go. By one El Sayed on sixty minutes. I don't ever get the question of Does Palestine have the right to exist?
Does Palestine have the right to exist? Yes. Does Israel have the right to exist? Yes. If there is a Shared understanding.
Wait, you said let me just let me just let me just understand. I believe, and this is this is the problem with this debate. We start from where we sit rather than start from principles. Right there, he has the gotcha moment for the journalist. Of, I never get the question of does Palestine have the right to exist.
So, Ross says, does Palestine have the right? Simple. We got that from him, and he quickly goes, yes. Great, glad he was able to answer that so easily. Then he just goes: Does Israel have the right to exist?
Follow up question. Yes, if there's a shared understanding. Wait, wait, wait! You're moving the goalposts. What is the shared understanding?
Either so, Palestine unequivocally yes, right to exist. Israel, yes, if if they do what the if they do what we as what radical Muslims want, or the Hamas wants, or the Iranian proxies like Hezbollah want, that's the only way that Israel can exist. Or if it's I mean, again, at this point, if you're running for U.S. Senate, explain it. Explain what you think would be.
If is it a two-state solution that you're talking about? A one-state solution? We. It's not clear from that because it has to again the circumstances, and we need to talk about it as now and principles. All of this will, I think, is it's just trying to claw back because, as we said, he has not been getting the same kind of support.
That Democrats who usually win in Michigan receive by two voting groups that are are primarily have been you know very strong for Democrats until a lot of this anti-Israel stuff, which is Jewish voters in Michigan and African American voters in Michigan. I think they're put off by this. I think this is a very politically fatal flaw in in the campaign that he's running. One, the fact that whatever it was, hubris or ego. Or what that he couldn't figure this out with Haley Stevens that that it was it led to this, and now a couple days before the election, you're one of the top stories in America.
His team let him do this, right? I mean that's, but here's the other thing. I think it's because at the end of the day, he is a true believer of what that ad said, and so he couldn't, on his own principle, denounce it, right? Because then you see this. He gives this the yes, but for Israel, you there's no workable way to get to a answer that Israel exists, knowing the ideology behind it.
Yeah. So who had come up with it? Is is the Israel he's talking about even Israel? And here's the thing I asking you with. One thing that we know from studying politics, from working in politics for so long, midterm elections that they try to run on foreign policy typically is a loser for the candidate running on that.
And El Saeed, while he's trying to couch this in gas prices and food prices, he's the party and that wants to do away with fossil fuels and wants city-run grocery stores.
So I don't think that. You can really make it as the foreign policy is domestic issue. It is fully just a foreign policy campaign.
Now we don't know what's going to play out tomorrow, but traditionally. If you're running a foreign policy campaign as a midterm candidate, you lose that election. Yeah, and you know what else? I think that you've got to realize, folks. I think this is why you've got to remember to get out the vote.
If you didn't early vote, and there are states you can still do that. We'll run through that list in the next half hour, just so you know. And it's a reminder if you're driving around today in those states and you see a location, you can usually vote at that location, even if it's not where you'd usually vote.
So most states have that rule; you can go anywhere to. Early vote as long as you got your ID with you. In some states, some I guess you don't have to have your ID with you as long as you know your name and address, maybe or someone else's. Yeah, if you're in California, right? Exactly.
But I mean, I say second to that, we when you really look at the any of the numbers, and I don't, I don't want to go through poll after poll after poll. Any of the numbers, while there's this broadly like these numbers that have said you know Americans don't support. Republicans, much they do, Democrats. When it gets these individual races, there are a lot of bizarre candidates running as for the Democrats, and because of that, I think that's why you've seen this tightening up and the nervousness inside the left just in this last week. And I always try to feel for it that that day before we know now that used to be kind of more serious.
The reason why I think it's been the last week or two is because of early voting, and they know the numbers, and they know if they're outperforming or underperforming. And in a lot of states, what I've been reading, where we've got clear numbers, is that if they're outperforming, it's barely, and it's not. And Republicans are not underperforming.
So I think you've seen campaigns shift entirely on the left to try and go more towards the middle in just the last really forty-eight, seventy-two hours. Folks, we'll be back with more of this discussion. If you want to join us, one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero. But also remember, the ACLJ is standing strong to protect the vote. Go to aclj.org/vote to support the work of the ACLJ.
And your donation will be doubled. That's aclj.org/vote. Keeping you informed and engaged now more than ever. This is Sekulow. Welcome back to Sekulow.
Will Haines here, joined in studio by Jordan Sekulow, and we are going to get some phone calls in this half hour of the broadcast. We're talking about the surprising move by former candidate for Senate Haley Stevens in Michigan, who became famous for her campaign stump speech where she said, "We're going to approach this campaign with a little bit of joy and a little bit of stick it to them." Looks like she has fulfilled that campaign promise by stick. It to the Democrat who is the nominee for Senate Abdul Al Sayed. We're going to take some phone calls on this in this half hour. Let's go ahead and go to Carl from Indiana on line two.
Carl, you're on Sekulow. Carl, you there? All right, we're going to put Carl back on hold. Check in on him, and guess what? Mark from New York, you're on Sekulow.
Hello, hi guys. How are you? Doing well. Go ahead. Pleasure to say, I'm a first time listener, first time caller.
Never made this call before. Welcome to Seculum. I think what's going on. First, I'll start with I am a first time. I am a lifelong Democrat.
I have been my entire life. I've worked for the system for the last 22 years. I'm recently retired, and I'm done drinking the Kool Aid. The amount of lies and anything that can be said to get the vote, and then backtrack the minute that they do, is just the out of the Democratic handbook. What's going on in Michigan?
I'm concerned with what's in New York for my children and my grandchildren. It's just unbelievable. The commercials and the stuff that's put on there that just grabs just snippets of what someone says. Twists it all around, puts it out there, and just talking. I have a business also.
A lot of customers come in. The amount of people that will repeat something that they totally misunderstood, right? And you know, is pretty much not true, is insane to me. The area that I live in, Buffalo, here, it's a very, very democratic area. The number of people that hardcore will just go with, oh, he's rude, or he said this, or she said that.
We've been destroyed in New York. We've been destroyed.
Well, Mark, I think to your point as well that the the amount of misinformation and disinformation, if you want to call it that, to take a line from the Biden administration, this is like the the case study for a political science class of of how.
Sound bitey this midterm has been, and and and once again you start to see things like this with Chuck Schumer about what Representative Stevens did. She's a sitting member of the House of Representatives, and he said this is a despicable betrayal from Representative Stevens, Chuck Schumer, who used to be pro-Israel and and against anti-Semitism. Her entire Situation here was caused because of anti-Semitism, but he says the Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul Al Sayed. Where was his call on someone who will be, if successful? Chuck Schumer will be the leader, his leader, as he is.
It sounds more like Chuck Schumer is concerned about what Abdul Sayed will do to his power once he gets in the Senate. I think that's where this is.
Well, this has nothing to do with the the elections in the sense of broader elections of Democrats. When this is Chuck Schumer worried that Democrats, if they do take the Senate, will not choose him as as the leader of the party. Because again, because I think of his background, and because he's he's not he's not considered liberal enough. And and once again, Chuck Schumer in this statement goes on to say, "We Democrats are equally united in our total revulsion at the racist, Islamophobic, and over the top false attacks on Abdul by Republicans." This is the man who's been campaigning with Hassan Piker. Hassan Piker's uncle puts out the ad that is.
Unequivocally anti-Semitic. There is no other word for it. It's repulsive. It's over the top, false. All the words that Chuck Schumer said about the attacks on Abdul Sayed.
What? I'm flabbergasted here. There should be equally that we don't support. What people in support of Abdul Al Sayed have been putting out can't even say it. That's shocking in this day and age, folks.
We'll be back with more with Rick Grinell in the next segment here on Sekulow, and support our work at aclj.org. Welcome back to Sekulow. We're joined now by Rick Grinnell. Rick, you are very familiar with Michigan and the politics there. We just when we thought Alaska was going to take the cake for the most bizarre story of this cycle, now we see the Democrats turn on one of their own.
Because she stood on principles about anti-Semitism, and we even have now Chuck Schumer saying that it was a disgusting betrayal. Nancy Pelosi's weighing in, dangerously betrayed Michigan families. I mean, I didn't realize that that it was that bad when it comes to groupthink within the Democrat Party, but here we are. Look, I have to say, historically, the Democrats have been much better at trying to say that they want a diverse party, trying to hear from other people. Certainly, we know that that that's been their mantra for so long is to say diversity and inclusiveness, and everyone is welcomed.
You know, we we see these signs around town that say this home. Doesn't allow hate. No hate here. You know they give long lists of what they believe, which sounds very accepting. But what we saw this weekend.
With Democrats completely attacking Haley Stevens for having a different view, for stepping away from the group think, and really, it's a personal religious view on her part where she can't support this guy. I think it was courageous, but boy, did we see a meltdown from the left—the party that is supposed to be about acceptance and diverse opinions. Completely melted down because there was a diverse opinion, and I can't believe how many people were attacking her with kind of this female gender criteria, and bringing in her fiance as somebody who easily influenced her. This is a sitting Congresswoman who's been pretty tough on a lot of issues, and she's not a Republican. She's a proud Democrat.
She just Happens to have one issue. Where she disagrees with the Democrats, and everyone from Chuck Schumer to Nancy Pelosi to Hakeem Jeffries just came down on her like a ton of bricks. I'm concerned that the Democratic Party is demanding groupthink that they are no longer the party that allows there to be a give and take, and let me hear from you, and and and let me listen to your views. That is gone, and we saw that this weekend.
Well, and Rick, I want to go back even to the I think it was the 2020 election when when you had individuals that that tried to think outside the party for the Democrats. You had Tulsi Gabbard, who as soon as she broke ranks even a little bit, and the issue was abortion on a debate stage, she said there should be common sense restrictions, which is against the group think. It wasn't even "I'm against abortion." It was a much more Clinton-esque type of response from the nineties. But she said, "Common sense restrictions." In the next day, you had Hillary Clinton say that she was an asset of Putin. They tried to destroy an American citizen.
We saw what followed after that. They had air marshals following her on flights, put on a no on a watch list because of. Not being able to fully agree on every issue one hundred percent, and you saw what happened. She left the party.
Now she was much more conservative in her views than a Haley Stevens, who is ninety eight percent voting with Joe Biden. This is someone who's a, I would say, a very traditional Michigan style Democrat. That this entire thing, the. It's really disgusting, especially when they ran so hard against the Trump administration will roll back the rights of women. Because all I have seen in the last 24 hours is prominent Democrats, male and female, say you as a woman, an elected member of Congress, aren't allowed to think for yourself.
You're not allowed to have your own principles. That sounds a lot like what they project on conservatives, but they're doing it in real time on MS Now. Yeah, look, there's a lot of voters who hate hypocrisy on on all sides. Anyone who claims to be one way and then personally is another. And I think what we're seeing over and over and over from today's Democratic Party is that they don't want diverse viewpoints.
They want there to be groupthink and follow the line. I've seen a lot of people in the Democratic Party kicking her out, saying she's no longer a Democrat. I'm I'm not sure how you. Do that. There's, there's not one person that can kick you out of your beliefs.
And she still, Haley, still says she's a proud Democrat. Is voting for Mike Rogers. By the way, she also said a couple of interesting things that she's hearing from a lot of different Democrats. And remember, she only lost the primary by just less than a point.
So there were a lot of people that wanted her and not El Saeed. And so now, what you have is she is standing. Up saying we're not welcome in in El Saeed's campaign, and so I'm going to go somewhere else. There's a lot of people who believe just like her. I will also say there's a huge difference between the DC media and the rest of the media in America because people like you know Anderson Cooper, the New York DC crowd.
His interview I thought was obnoxious. It wasn't journalism. It was literally staying on one thing like what change. What changed between you know your call at midnight? First of all, let's see Debbie Dingell's phone.
Did that call come in at midnight? Because Debbie Dingell keeps saying it was a midnight call, and then she changed her mind by eight a.m. Haley Stevens said it wasn't midnight. It was earlier in the evening, and. How many of us, when we're away from the circus, have time to think?
And you settle in on your thoughts, and you think what's important. You prioritize, and then you come to your own conclusion. That's what happened, Anderson Cooper. She was finally away from the pressure points and spent the night and slept on her decision. Hello, that's exactly what we want in politicians.
That's right. And once again, that is what they can't stand. That's happening here, and I think. The media once again is showing exactly where they are now. Obviously, this is going to be a very close day tomorrow.
We're going to be watching a lot of it, but but once again, don't think so, Will. Oh, okay. Rick Reynolds got a little little forecast here. I was I was just saying to a couple of my friends what what I find to be sad is is that I think El Said was always going to lose. Mike Rogers is running a much better campaign.
He only lost by like nineteen thousand votes last time. I think that Mike Rogers has had this in the bag for a while, and and now I think the the media after the win is going to say that it was Haley Stevens' fault, but I I don't see it that way. I think Al Sayed blew up his campaign a while ago. Mike Rogers has been working, doing a whole bunch. I've been working the Arab and Muslim communities in Detroit and listening, and I can tell you from my personal experience that not every Arab and Muslim is on board with Al Sayed.
There's many of them that are saying, you know, Muslims against Al Sayed. They don't like the Muslim Brotherhood tie.
So I think that Mike Rogers is set to win this, and it's not just. Because of Haley Stevens, you know, Rick. We we work in a lot of campaigns together. I've been going through stuff while you've been talking to Will, and we all know. Listen, endorsements—it's great to have, but endorsements are people coming out.
It gets you. That is never wins. It never wins a race. It's never why you lost a race either. It's about the person.
It's about the at the end of the day, it's about the actual candidate. Yeah, I think that's exactly right. And Mike Rogers has been working the African American community in Detroit, a significant portion of the vote. My my late mother would always say, "Living in Grand Rapids, you know, we could win this state if it wasn't for Detroit." And so we know that Detroit is going to be very big, and we'll be watching Wayne County and all the other collar counties there.
Well, Rick, thank you so much for joining us today and giving us that insight as well, and we'll. Talk to you later in the week after what we see what happens tomorrow night. But folks, we are in this time where we are fighting to protect the vote here at the ACLJ. We sent a new FOIA to New Jersey on Friday. This is in the wake of them admitting that their technical glitch in their software added sixty six hundred non citizens and hundreds of them.
Voted illegally. We've talked last week about our investigation in Maryland, and we are expanding that effort as we speak to other localities that do something similar. They allow non-citizens, and once again, this isn't illegal immigrant individuals that are on their rolls. These are people that are in the country legally that are allowed to vote in their local elections. All we want to know is how do you keep those lists separate?
From the citizen voter roll and the non-citizen voter roll, and what we're finding out is they don't do it very well, and we're fighting to get to the bottom of that as we refer to that to the DOJ to put the the government's investigative powers behind it as well, because something isn't right when it comes to that, and we're going to get to the bottom of it. We also have this election hotline. You can go to it aclj.org/electionhotline if you have need help. If you need clarification, our attorneys are standing by, 24 seven, monitoring this hotline. But you can support all these efforts with a donation that will be doubled.
As we fight to protect the vote, go to aclj.org/vote and donate today. That's aclj.org/vote, and we'll be right back with more on Sekulow. Welcome back to Sekulow. Final segment of the broadcast. If you want to be on air and talk with us, me and Jordan, one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero.
That's one eight hundred six eight four three one one zero. Jordan, before we we go forward, we've been talking a lot about kind of the craziness that seems like it's chaotic, but when you look at this. You you take conventional wisdom when you start to look at how is how is tomorrow going to go? Conventional wisdom: the house flips, the senate's a harder battle. That's that's traditionally what happens in a midterm, right?
And that's because again, it really depends on what senate seats are up in in midterms. And so this one actually did favor Republicans more than last time around that we had a midterm, but with senate races, but because of just kind of this, you know, again. People. Kind of taking a look at different candidates. We also have a lot of new candidates as well.
And listen, we've seen shifts in both parties. The Republican Party shifted obviously over the last three Presidential elections to a to a different to this MAGA kind of movement.
So there's been a shift in in the Republican Party, a little more libertarian, but still pretty hawkish when it comes down to honestly protecting America. Then we've also seen huge shifts with the Democrat Party. They were always liberal, but now it's Kind of embracing this more radical kind of of liberalism that didn't even live within the Democrat Party, other than a couple, maybe like a Bernie Sanders, and then the small squad who now they are very much mainstream.
So I think honestly. A lot of early voting's in.
Okay, so we we know that there's plenty of people who voted early. In fact, I'll go through list right now because if you're in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming, you can still early vote today.
So, in any of those states, if you're thinking, you know, something might come up tomorrow, or I don't, you know, I've got appointments, things like that, and you're driving by a voting location, you know, while you're hearing me, pull in if you haven't voted yet. Get it done because in most early voting, it doesn't matter what zip code you're in right now, as long as you're in. They find you in the database for the state. You're able to vote, so they'll pull your locality up. And so again, don't forget to do that.
But second, the we've seen these the wave elections, the wave this, the wave that, and and we've seen shocker nights. I think. Listen, is the house tough? Sure. We're honest with you.
It just is. There's so many races, and and and again, there's been. That's kind of like a more direct response. You get a lot of different kind of candidates in the house.
Sometimes I mean it's a mixed bag on both sides of who gets through the primaries.
So the the focus has been so much on the Senate, and this is why. If you have a House and Senate that both flips, I mean this that is we're talking about total political war and legal war. If you want to talk about lawfare between the executive branch and the legislative branch, I mean, I don't think we're not just talking about impeachment, President Trump, and that won't go anywhere. We're talking about seriously trying to take down the conservative movement and the Republican and Republicans. If the Senate is close, even if Republicans don't maintain control, they so much of it, you know, with the filibuster, we just are going to have to be tough.
Let's be tough, like like you know, the other side. And a reminder of why sometimes it feels like you'd love to do away with the filibuster, and sometimes it might be like after tomorrow night that you realize this is why you kind of like the filibuster is that slow things down. We've also got a President. Who can veto for the next two years? Anything he wants, they're not going to get to two thirds to override a veto.
So again, it might not be the difference. Will be is do we get things done, or are we going to be in a posture of just stopping bad policy? The good news is we know we can stop the bad policy for a couple of years. The bad news would be the House, kind of, I think, is always more left leaning, always more quick to draw on things like impeachment. And and kind of that shuts down the work for the country.
Not good when you've got ongoing conflicts that are not resolved, and and not a good look for the country as well.
Well, and honestly, that's probably the chess move too. Is ram impeachment through in the house if if they win? They're not going to be able to get anything done. And then they blame things, even though it's not the filibuster. I think they will use that kind of language of, "Oh, look, we had to get to that number in the Senate, and we couldn't do it for impeachment." That's why things like the filibuster of having an elevated number in the Senate are bad, and they use that as a talking point to go into twenty twenty eight.
Yeah, the reason I say they will not be able to get things done is for two years, the veto is there.
So even if the filibuster fails, if you got legislation through, the veto is there. And second, this is this is you know we've seen this really happening in the last two decades of politics. There's not much compromise legislation. That's right. Sometimes their hands are forced when it comes to keeping the government open.
That's about it. I think let's go to Carl military and the government. I mean, other than other than those two things, I don't see compromise happening. And so that means Democrats, and they're not doing it, are not promising a bunch of of new policy moves in these first couple of years. You know what they've been promising is retribution, right?
That's what you've seen from the other Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, who has been doubling down on that. Let's go to Carl calling from Indiana, talking about Michigan. Carl, you're on Sekulow. Hey, fellas, how you doing? Doing well.
Welcome. Tomorrow is midterms. Of course, he wants to keep the House and the Senate, and this thing in Detroit, because I used to come. I was born and raised in Michigan, Flint, Michigan.
So I know how Michigan politics, mainly Democrats, but they vote for Trump the last two times, didn't they? Both in sixteen and twenty, right? Correct. Twenty four, yes. Anyway, Syed, I can't believe that he's ahead.
This guy is a wolf in sheep clothing. Tomorrow, the sheep, the sheep is going to fall off. You'll see the wolf.
Well, I don't see him. You know, I think he's actually. It's interesting. I think he was more of that early Carl, and then as you as he had to speak more, and he as he had to kind of because he was new to the scene, explain like his policy views more. This I kind of see like Madami in New York, right?
They're not trying to hide.
Well, so much. I mean, a little. I tell you, a little bit. They're trying to move to the middle because polls always tight. They get nervous too.
Their advisors get nervous, but I mean. Really, you knew this guy was a wolf coming at you in the last few months, at least.
Well, and I think when you look at Carl, also to the screener said he doesn't believe the polls that that show him polling so far ahead is so outdated. When you think about it like this, too, Jordan, that if you're someone that's a elected member of Congress like Haley Stevens, you speak your mind. They try to silence you. If you're a regular person. Why are you going to talk to a pollster, right?
Right.
So we know there's been a lot of fake polls, but even here, people calling you on the phone, and then you really know—are they from a legit polling company? Is this someone just going to put me on some harassment list because I'd say that you know I I would support conservatives or Republicans, and then now now I've got you know. People outside the door, or on a protest list, or you know, exactly they're showing exactly what they do to people that don't fall in line. Why would you talk to these people? Yeah, I mean, I think this is where you can kind of get a sense of national issues, okay, national issues.
But, but when it comes down to trying to get people on, on who are you going to vote for? Americans don't love saying that. And and there are those of us who put the bumper stickers on the back of their car. It's usually those who this is part of their work that they do. This is their kind of life, and so you want to be out there and say, "Listen, if if you're someone I know, I'm telling you who I'm supporting.
If you care about my views, this is who I think is best." Most Americans, you know, it's kind of an American thing to not have to wear it on your sleeve if you don't want to. You can put the yard sign out, but you don't have to. That's right, and folks, as we head into this final day tomorrow of our Protect the Vote campaign, go to aclj. dot org slash vote. Have your donation doubled.
And how many signs do you think I have in my yard right now? About thirty eight.
Okay, last election, yes, because the neighbor I had to you know compete with. I've got six though. Six for this term is pretty hot, pretty impressive, folks. We'll talk to you tomorrow and we'll break it all down on Sekulow and support our work at. aclj.org.
