A caveman could do it. The show gets started every single weekday at 6pm Eastern 3 Pacific. We've already talked about a lot. Luka Doncic being a crybaby. The Celtics away. One win away from championship number 18.

And we even had some breaking news. Trevor Lawrence got himself a new contract. A contract that will pay him $55 million a year. The highest average annual value of any quarterback in the game. He's tied with Burrow right now at 55 per.

Absolutely nuts. This just broke minutes ago. And thank you as well to Avery Johnson, the little general, former NBA player, champion, current analyst on CBS Sports HQ. Thank you, Avery, for joining us as well. The phone number here if you want to talk to me, 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. If you use the Internet, you can go ahead and find me there as well. I am at JR Sport Brief.

Yeah, this has been reported. Let me give you the numbers here on this deal for Trevor Lawrence. Five year extension. A full $275 million. $55 million a season.

$200 million guaranteed. Trevor Lawrence, this man who came out of Clemson. This man who won a national championship as a freshman in 2019. This man, he's getting paid. And he's getting paid at the top of the heap.

His playoff numbers. Well, there's hope there for Trevor Lawrence. He's getting paid on what he could potentially do into the future. Trevor Lawrence isn't getting paid on anything in the past because he's played two playoff games.

They both came in 2022. And it's just, it's a wild world that we live in right now. I know who's happy. Dak Prescott is happy.

The Tuatanga Veloa is happy. These guys are doing jumping jacks and backflips. Jordan Love is just like, man, can I get close to 55-2? I know I just went to the playoffs, but can I get some love? These numbers for the QBs are absolutely insane right now.

Let me tell you. Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence, 55 mill a year. Jared Goff, 53 a year. Justin Herbert, 52. Lamar Jackson, 52. Jalen Hurts, 51. Kyler Murray, 46.

Tuatanga Veloa, Dak Prescott. They may want to be free agents. They may say, screw this crap. I'm gonna play the year out and make buckets of money. And I know the NFL is a volatile game. It's a dangerous game. Nobody plays forever like Tom Brady.

But the quarterbacks and the wide receivers, they making major bank. 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. It's 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27.

I guess this is Trevor Lawrence's reward for playing under Urban Meyer. And speaking of Tom Brady, Mike is calling from Boston. You're on the JR Sport Reshow. What's up, Mike? JR, how you doing tonight? I'm very well.

What's up? Excellent. And my daughter actually lives down in Alpharetta. I'll be down there for the Peachtree Run, July 4th.

Oh, nice. Yeah, I stand outside and watch people run. I don't run. Alright, you'll see me. I'm the slow one. Okay.

Well, I'll be home by then because you'll be too late, but I'll try. Alright. So, with Trevor Lawrence, before you said the number, you said, oh, this is breaking news. And before you said the number, I was thinking in my mind how much it was gonna be. And I was like, eh, you know, 150, 175 for five or six years.

When you said 240, I'm not kidding, my jaw dropped. It's just, it's based on his promise. Okay, fine. You know, came out of college looking good and all that.

But you know what? He's done nothing. And there's not even enough to help predict what he's gonna be like two years from now, three years from now, four years from now. No way near 50 million. That's crazy.

Well, you get paid what the market says that you're worth. I mean, let's back it up. You know, being here in Georgia, Trevor Lawrence is from right up the road here. There's a reason why he went further up the road and went to Clemson. He was expected to be the next big thing at the quarterback position, especially given his size, his length, his athleticism, his ability to get the ball down the field. And it hasn't worked that way in the NFL. I think a part of that you can blame to coach and I'm making Urban Maya jokes, but I think part of that has to deal with coaching.

I think he finally is in a good situation. This is a Jaguars team that's also spending money. You probably remember earlier in the offseason, they gave Josh Allen a big old contract to get the opposing team's quarterback.

And I don't know. I mean, we also have to remember this past season. It looked like Trevor Lawrence.

I don't remember if it was a Thursday night game or a Monday night game. Trevor Lawrence looked like he his season was done. Like he literally broke his leg. He was able to come back into the game and the Jacksonville Jaguars season pretty much went down the toilet after that. And so for all the hype that he came with a number one overall pick, I think the potential has always been there.

I just think he needed a good team around him like like most guys. All right. All right. So you mentioned market value, right? Market value is forty five to fifty five million dollars. It looks like any starting quarterback in the NFL should we pay that amount? Like two? I just don't think two was even close to that.

I don't even think two was a twenty five to thirty million a year guy. Well, I mean, now you've got to you've got to look at the lines, the stats, the numbers and the results. That's it. That's all that talks.

I mean, we can say we can say whatever we want about Tua Tonga Voloa. But if you look at what he's done, I mean, the cheapest end guy at the quarterback position. Come on. Baker Mayfield is making thirty three. Gino Smith is making twenty five. Daniel Jones is making forty.

I mean, you signing up for Daniel Jones or Tua Tonga Voloa? Come on. I agree. It seems like a lot of money to me. It is a lot. Well, the NFL got a lot of money to throw around, Mike.

They're full of it. That is true. What's the cap? 240 this year or something like that. So.

All right. I guess everybody gets getting paid. You got to get a piece of the pie, including a wide receivers. I mean, Justin Jefferson making thirty five now.

So everybody gets paid, including Trevor Lawrence. Yes. Yes. Which another thing I went to the Brady Hall of Fame event last night. The hours was three. I have to say it was epic.

It was excellent. A little one. You know what? Anybody who sits.

Through that, you know, was trained, I don't know, you know, people around the country watching it. No piece. It's that through that and watch that there's no way you could come away thinking that Brady is just this unicorn of competitiveness and drive and desire to win.

That is this does not exist. And all people skills, maybe not the best in the world, athletic wise. But his drive. That's all people talked about.

All eight. So you're telling us that Tom Brady is an alien from outer space. Is that correct?

That's about as close as it's going to get to describe. Yeah, I think that's pretty good. OK. All right. Well, Mike, how much did that cost for you to go? It cost you to go to the ceremony.

Right. How much did it cost? I'm the season ticket holder. I think it was like twenty five bucks for tickets. Non-season ticket holders. I think it was a hundred and twenty hundred bucks space value.

Maybe they can get market. I'm sure it was hundreds of dollars. How much was how much was parking and how much was food? Parking was free. The food was expensive.

Right. Twenty five bucks for a beer. I well, I don't know, but I got a sausage and water and a pretzel and twenty bucks.

Thirty three. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on a second. Don't go anywhere. Hold on one second.

Hold on. Picky, did this man say he spent thirty three dollars on a he said a sausage, water and what? I forget the last one.

I didn't tell you any alcohol. Mike, Mike. Mike, you bought a sausage, water and what? A pretzel.

One of those big soft pretzels. It was good. You bought a soft one like a Polish sausage, Italian sausage, something like that. Oh, got to be Italian sausage.

Oh, yeah. It was good. I have to say it was good.

They cooked it. Thirty thirty three dollars for three items. You know, I didn't expect it was going to be that much.

You know, the server was like thirty three bucks. Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, I want to I want to go up. I want to get on a plane. I want to fly to Boston. I want to drive with you to Foxborough.

And then I want to get your money back. That's what I want to do, because that's that's insane. OK, that's insane. That's nuts.

I'm going to starve before I pay thirty three dollars for a sausage, a pretzel and a bottle of water. OK, it was good water. It's good. What what? Hey, here's a free plug for whoever it is. What brand of water was it?

I think it was Tucson. OK, Mike, thank you for calling from Boston. OK, don't spend that type of money again.

Yeah, I think you're right about that. All right. Have a good night. Thank you. Thank you.

There's some jail wisdom. Thank you, Mike, from Boston. Hickey, my soul hurts. My soul. Hickey, he said the water was worth it. Water. I thank Mike for the laugh.

I'm drinking my own saliva before I sit around going, oh, man, that Dasani water was good. That is I mean, I know it's not eleven dollars, but an average of eleven dollars for a sausage, a water and a pretzel each. Mike, I mean, look, I know most most arenas, most stadiums that is probably around like the average price. But wow. Wow.

That hurts. How much is a bottle of water at the stadium? Five bucks. I was going to say seven, seven bucks for a bottle of water. We got all this. We got all this water. And I know you can't drink it all. We got all this water on earth for free. It's free. And we got people who clean it and bottle it and say, hey, you can afford it. So drink it.

What a commodity. I'm going to move tomorrow. No. Is there water there?

They still looking right. Or maybe she's getting to the water distributing business. Very profitable vodka.

That that's who that. I mean, I thought you could only upsell alcohol. I guess now you can upsell water even.

Watch. Air's going to be next. I'm moving to California and Arizona and I'm selling water.

I am have a transportation system from like that. The Atlantic Ocean somehow transported across the country. Freshwater distill it as you get there as well. Yeah, they're running out. They're running out of water from the Rockies and in all these other mountains. They're running out of water. Here's J.R. to the rescue.

Freshwater. Come and get it right out there. I'm going to build dollars a bottle. I'm going to talk to Biden and build a pipeline pipeline.

Yeah, I know they got beefs with the pipelines and I'm going to build and I'm gonna make it happen. Damn it. That's great. Good tasting water to thirty three dollars. What do you what do you think Jay-Z was eating on the on the floor? Was Jay-Z spending 33 bucks for a pretzel and a hot dog? I'm going to say no.

Yeah, I don't think so. Buy some steak lobster back there. Jay-Z was on the floor eating the best of food last night for free. He eating it for free.

Like Trevor Lawrence. What the hell do you think he's eating? He's is he eating steak in Jacksonville?

You would hope, right? You would not hope, but you would think maybe some seafood. I don't feel like, you know, that. But Jacksonville, you think they got pretty good. I go to Jacksonville. I don't know if I'm against some steak from Jackson. No, no, no, no, no.

Is there anything you would feel comfortable getting in Jacksonville? Yes. It's not edible. You're not supposed to eat it.

Oh, it's not food, not food. Interesting. It's football, football or football.

He plays football already. So you have it. All right.

That works. Yeah. He plays there.

You know, you know who has to feel bad about this, though? Who's that? Mac Jones.

I guess it's not a competition anymore, huh? Mac Jones comes out of Alabama, gets sucked up into New England. Looks good in his first year.

They kind of fall apart at the seams. Mac Jones sucks. He gets sent basically back home to Jacksonville, where he's from, to be a backup quarterback for a guy who was taken ahead of him in the draft in his home city. Like, I don't know who feels worse. He has to feel worse than Justin Fields. At least Justin Fields goes, man, if I get a couple of chances, like I can take this. Mac Jones is screwed. And he's like, man, this guy's making fifty five a year and I got to come back home and live in my mom's basement.

It's terrible, man. Right. There's no at least in year number one, there is no way for how bad Trevor Lawrence could play. There's no way he's getting benched outside of injury. Right.

Hell, no. He's got to blow out another knee or something like that, man. Hey, at least Mac Jones. Did you see that photo shoot he got in front of like that nice old school car?

At least he has that. He said he did a play on Mike Jones. Who? Mike Jones. Who? Like, that's not even that's something a starting quarterback should say, not you. I forgot the number for Mike Jones.

Eight zero zero four. Mike Jones. He's on the left.

Songs from like 20 years ago. I don't remember that. I like Mike Jones and Paul Wall, though, but Mac Jones backup quarterbacks need to just shut up. Sorry, Mac Jones. At least he can carry a. Trevor Lawrence's bags and pick up an additional tip. Trevor Lawrence, if you're just tuning in, this man is tied for being the highest paid quarterback in the entire NFL. Trevor Lawrence's new deal, his contract extension pays him fifty five million dollars a season. That is tied with Joe Burrow for the most in the NFL. Tell me how many Super Bowl appearances Trevor Lawrence has compared to Burrow.

The answer is zero. The J.R. sport we show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.

We're going to take a break. Mike from Boston, who bought a thirty three dollar meal at Foxborough. He witnessed greatness. He saw Tom Brady get his jersey retired, I guess not, but him going to the Hall of Fame. He heard from Bill Belichick. He heard Randy Moss and then he paid thirty three dollars for a dry ass pretzel and some water. When we come back, we'll actually we'll hear from Tom Brady and Belichick and Randy Moss. Let's listen to some of the audio from last night. We'll do that here.

It's the J.R. sport we show the Infinity Sports Network. OK, quick math. The less your business spends on operations, on multiple systems, on delivering your product or service, the more margin you have and the more money you keep.

Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. This portion of the show is sponsored by the all new Hyundai twenty twenty four Santa Fe.

Equipped for adventure with capable features like available H track all wheel drive and standard third row seating. Trevor Lawrence can afford. Hickey, how many of those can he afford?

Oh, boy. A lot of Hyundai's. A lot of them. A hundred. One for probably every teammate he's ever played with his entire career.

Going back to Pop Warner. My niece needs a car. Should I ask Trevor Lawrence?

I think so. He's the man to give her one. My mother needs a new car. Can I ask Trevor Lawrence? I think you should.

My son needs a car for, I don't know, a million years from now. Should I ask Trevor Lawrence? Yeah, I should. That answers right there.

Yes, absolutely. A breaking news flash. So excited I jumped the gun. Trevor Lawrence is getting paid. That's a lot of money. It's a good investment for Trevor Lawrence.

Get one now. His car price is only going to go up. Fifty five million dollars a year. He can get everybody a car. He's gonna get one of them Tesla trucks. No, right? Santa Fe. No, Hyundai's Santa Fe. Yeah, I wouldn't trust Tesla. No?

I get a little scared, I don't know. Still early, right? Those trucks are like, what, there's like 300 of them or something like that? Three hundred? That's it? No. Maybe not. There's more than 300, but it's like 3,000 maybe?

Look, we got nice weather here in Atlanta, OK? I've seen one, maybe two of them? Two. Maybe it's the same one. I definitely saw one and it was like a month ago. I've never seen another Tesla truck. People are driving around in Lamborghinis and all this other stuff.

That's all normal. I've seen one Tesla truck. One. I've seen one.

It was like two months ago. In Manhattan? No, it was in San Diego. Let me tell you, if I had one of those, I would not be driving it in Manhattan. That is for damn sure. So does Tesla have a warranty when you hit a pothole? Pothole when a taxi driver cuts you off, when the bikers just are going in and out and ding you and then just keep on going? That's a good question. Ask Elon that.

What's your insurance policy for just New York City itself? The homeless guy crossing the street just banging cars being crazy? I thought the Tesla trucks were supposed to be, what's the word? Invincible? Yeah, didn't they try to take a baseball to the thing and it broke or didn't break or hit it with a bat and nothing happened?

Wait, really? In one of the demonstrations, I feel like they tried to abuse the Tesla and it withstood some of the abuse, but then of course it broke. That'd be a cool video to watch. Baseball, bat, maybe like pitching machine. What else can we do? A kick? A kick to a windshield might do something. How about keys? Is it unkeyable? Unkeyable?

Now you know only people who use keys on cars, you know that, right? Scoring lovers. Okay, there you go. Look at this. Carrie Underwood.

Sunday Night Football? Oh, you never heard her sing that song? Carrie Underwood has a car about keying up somebody's car? Oh, I feel this is a great feeling right now. I'm teaching you something. That is like probably her biggest hit ever.

I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive. No? Oh, with the melody?

Look at you. No, with the melody, I know exactly what the song is. There you go. I didn't know the words.

Took the Louisville Slugger there too. Wow. So if Elon had the inspiration to see how much that Tesla truck could withstand, listen to Carrie Underwood's song, go through what she's talking about and see how strong it is. Hey, let's do more cultural exchange. Do you know Jasmine Sullivan, I'll bust the windows out your car? No. See, you got me beat now. I had one, but that's about it. No?

Well, we learned something. I'll bust the windows out your car. Jasmine Sullivan? Okay, I gotta check her out. Well, that is her most popular song.

Why are Scorn Lover songs the most popular songs? Taylor Swift made an entire empire out of that, right? Travis Kelsey, I'd be watching out right now, right? I would be on my best behavior if I was him. Damn.

Wild stuff. Yeah, well, he don't gotta worry about nothing. He got a contract extension too. Everybody's getting contract extensions, Hickey. Man, damn. Except? Me and you.

That's right. Hopefully the bosses are listening. We're here, we're willing.

Well, listen, maybe we need to go into a different line of work. NFL with these new kickoff rules, what do they say? You need two returners in the back?

That's true. You do one side, I do the other. And look, I mean, the Steelers at least are creative and reportedly maybe looking at Justin Fields. Other teams be creative, put talk show hosts behind the lines there and we'll run it back for a score. Yeah, what stupid team can we get for suckers? The commanders.

Mark Davis looks for a good deal. No, no, they got new ownership now. That's true. You're right.

I take that back. And the Raiders are tough now too. They got a head coach who's not gonna fall for BS. Alright, how about the Panthers? David Tepper?

Uh, yeah. Canales seems smart. We don't know what he's gonna do.

He does. But, I mean, if Tepper's calling the shots... We're running out of stupid teams. We can't pick the Lions anymore. I know.

Damn. Houston got good. Somebody, they gotta be a stupid NFL team out here. Wow, you are right.

There is less and less incompetence. The Jets. The Jets. The Jets.

Just be friends with Aaron Rodgers and you're good. Yeah, the Jets. Yeah.

They hire all his friends so, you know, maybe that's your best bet. Oh, I heard, well, there was speculation and he's on vacation. Did you hear that?

I did. I also saw something that said we're gonna find out today where he is. I've not seen anything yet. Are you kidding me? Do we need to know where Aaron Rodgers is?

Do we need to? I've seen the jokes. Somebody said he was under, I forgot, somebody's on RFK's couch. Somebody said that he went on another ayahuasca retreat. I heard one of the TV guys said Aaron Rodgers is on vacation. Oh my God.

This is like, and correct me if I'm wrong. Did the New York Post put Aaron Rodgers in a Where's Waldo hat? No, did they? That's hilarious. They did. The New York Post put Aaron Rodgers in a Waldo hat. They did. That is funny.

They are very creative over there. You know what, speaking of New York, speaking of sports teams, are all the teams in New York stupid? All of them, right? Almost?

For the most part. The Yankees seem pretty smart right now. The New York Mets had Grimace from McDonald's throw out the first pitch last night. I mean, come on now.

What are we doing? Grimace? Could you imagine Grimace throwing out the first pitch at a Yankees game? No, I cannot. I cannot. I mean, honestly, through a decent pitch.

He did. I could see, I could see a dignitary, right? The New York Yankees would find, I don't know, somebody that people respect. Not a lot of people, right? People hate everybody nowadays. It's tough. I can't even say the Pope.

It's a tough one. There's nobody universally respected anymore. Nobody. The Rock? The Yankees doesn't have many haters. He doesn't? I don't know about that.

Travis Kelce's on a high right now. The point is the... Not many. Yeah. The Yankees would just get a president to throw out the first pitch. The Mets found Grimace.

You put it that way. The Mets found Grimace from McDonald's to throw out the first pitch. And the Yankees are just like, oh yeah, here's former President George Bush. Here's Barack Obama.

The New York Mets across town. They got Grimace. They had to dust him off too. Is he even used at all like in the last 15 or 20 years? Grimace. I haven't seen Grimace in a McDonald's cartoon in 30 years.

I remember like I was a kid getting Happy Meals like 20 years ago. Grimace. Yeah.

He's a fixture. I don't know about now. Grimace.

I got to go to commercial after that. Grimace is a purple turd. Like what are we doing? That's the Mets. This is the Mets. And the Jets are the cousins of the Mets. And so if we wanted to look for a job, yes. Let's just go to the New York Jets and see if they'll let us return kicks.

Hey, if you wanted to know why the New England Patriots had all this success for 20 years, just look at the Jets. OK, it's it's as simple as that. We'll also talk about a legendary quarterback who's also getting paid a crap ton of money. He hasn't accomplished anything in this field. It's Tom Brady in broadcasting. He's making three hundred and seventy five million dollars over the next 10 years. He's never done it before. And last night he was honored up in Foxborough. Tom Brady going into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Good for him. David is calling from Massachusetts. Hey, David, you're on the J.R. sport show. What's up? Yeah. Yeah.

What's up, man? Yeah. Explain to the world, man, that Jason Tatum is the leader of that team roughly enough to be surrounded by a squad of superstars. I mean, you know, each of the players make the other ones look good and they just make Tatum look better when they would be scared that they'll only win. Because they they were they were great. The Celtics are a great team all the way around. It's just a great team.

No, guys, they might be and they might be at the top of the pool for the next seven, six or seven years. Oh, damn. Wow. OK. All right. Well, I mean, we'll see what happens. You know, eventually guys want to get contracts and get paid somewhere else.

You know, I don't know, Drew Holliday is going to play forever and Al Hofford, but they certainly have a great core when you have Tatum and Brown. Let me tell you this, David. Let's let me let me just ask you a few questions here. You you like the Celtics, right?

You live in Massachusetts. You like the Celtics. Yeah. Do you like the Patriots? Well, you got to think about it.

Yes, I have. I have to be proud when they win because I live here. So I mean, it makes me feel good. Oh, well, listen, anything that makes you feel good makes me feel good. You like the Red Sox? Well, there again, I live here and I wouldn't I wouldn't need a chill, but I would go to Fenway for a couple of distance and I've been there. Oh, OK. All right.

Well, listen, man, you hit the jackpot being up in Massachusetts. Hey, David, enjoy the rest of the finals, OK? I think you only might get one more game.

Thank you so much, David. I'm not going to enjoy it. I have no investment in any of these teams. Why Boston got to win everything? It's not fair, man. Not fair.

It is crazy. I mean, my goodness, the Celtics, the Bruins, I know they've not won recently. Recently, it's Red Sox, Pats. I don't know what they did up there in Boston to get all that good luck.

And now I've seen this graphic going around plenty of times. I think a lot of people are taking joy in it. The now New York sports teams have gone a hundred combined seasons since their last championship back in 2011 with the Giants. So it's a desert out here in terms of championships in New York, Boston. It's an oasis. Must be nice. New York isn't a desert anyway. What do you mean by that? A different type of desert, like deserted and falling apart at the seams. No, just no.

I would say life here is, we'll say, vivacious. Oh, is it walking around? Oh, is that guy still outside the front of the building with the signs? No, actually, he left.

So things are turning up. Is the guy still sleeping on top of the ATM downstairs? That I can't confirm.

I go left. He usually is right, but I'm going to assume that he is still making his nightly sleep pattern in the Chase Bank. For my sake, do some investigative journalism. See if that man is still there. Well, the guy outside that was sitting there protesting something, I don't know if you know, he was sleeping out there, too. It wasn't just like a nine to five. He's pulling all-nighters. Well, damn. As if he are sometimes like 2 a.m., he'd be out there still.

It's rough. Why don't these athletes, this guy making $55 million, why don't he help these guys out off the street? Do that, right? Well, the one guy outside, I think he had money to sleep inside. Oh, he has choices. He has choices.

The guy in the Chase Bank, unfortunately, does not. Oh, yeah. But the guy outside protesting, he had choices. He was in the car for a while. They ditched the car and was just on the sidewalk. Damn. Yeah, I don't know what led to that, but parking tickets. Yeah.

New York is a desert. Thank you for confirming what I said. It is. Thank you. You're not coming up anytime soon?

Is that it doesn't entice you? I'll be back. I'll be back sooner than you think. Oh, I'd like to just show up one day. I'll just show up. I'll give you a heads up, though. I want to pop up.

That is true. When we were not working together, all of a sudden just, oh, JR's here. Yeah, JR's here. You only tell the people that you got to tell, huh? No one else. Oh, I don't tell, I don't really tell anybody.

Just pop up, say, here I am. Don't cross yet. It's all sort of, hopefully listeners know. Nonviolent person. JR, just show up. Nonviolent person. Anyway, speaking of just showing up, Jay-Z showed up last night, Randy Mars showed up last night, an entire stadium showed up last night to see Tom Brady go into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Quite a few announcements, a lot of emotions. For the greatest, well, I can say this with certainty, the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady. He talked about his key to success with these Patriots. Life is hard. No matter who you are, there are bumps and hits and bruises along the way. And my advice is to prepare yourself because football lessons teach us that success and achievement come from overcoming adversity and that team accomplishment far exceeds anyone's individual goals. To be successful at anything, the truth is you don't have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren't. Consistent, determined and willing to work for it.

No shortcuts. Tell him to give me some of that $375 million. Anyway, Bill Belichick, he don't work there anymore, but he was there. He just got fired.

Bill Belichick, he could barely get a word out, but when he did, even he talked about the great time he had coaching Tom Brady. You didn't know that was the truth, huh? Tom, I want to say thanks on behalf of all the players, all the coaches, all the staff, all the people, hundreds of people that are here and the thousands of fans that are here. Thank you and thank you for all that you've done for us. Thank you for all you've done for me. And thank you for the example and model that you've been for all of us on a daily basis for 20 years. You're unbelievable.

Congratulations. Oh, that's sweet. He didn't include the time where he tried to get rid of him for Jimmy Garoppolo. Why would he? Randy Moss was there. They love Randy Moss. Unfortunately, Randy Moss caught 50 million touchdowns in a season and they looked like they were going to go perfect and they won a Super Bowl. But Randy Moss is still loved. Randy Moss, he started to cry. They showed him so much love.

I think that a lot of fans here were just wondering and I think football fans just wondering what they were going to get. Y'all know it's always good to feel this. I thank y'all. Real quick, Mike, before before Tom came in, I just wanted to say a couple of words to him. And the one thing Tom said is, Randy, don't get me emotional and y'all see what y'all did. So I apologize because this is really not my night.

It's 12's night. And like I said, I thank you. You got to appreciate things like this. 20 years of success. Like what team a football team having 20 years of success, it doesn't work that way. And Tom Brady was the centerpiece because the quarterback is the most important dude on the football field.

And so how is he being immortalized? Robert Kraft took some time away from the massage parlor and Robert Kraft told us. There's only one iconic number that will always represent Tom Brady, and tonight I promise that it will never be worn again as the number 12 is now officially retired.

Hickey, what a shock, right? Who saw that one coming? Not me. No, I thought they were going to give it to the DNA draft in the sixth round this year. I wanted to wear number 12.

All right. Here's number 12. Some other guy wore it, right? They said the statue is going to be 12 feet tall. Big statue, right?

Allen Iverson is going to be upset. Oh, come on. They're all small. All the statues in Philly outside the practice facility. They're all small. They're all small statues.

Someone got to rethink that strategy. You're going to have big giant statues at the practice facility? Who's seeing them?

No fans are seeing them. Why even make statues of the practice facility then? So Joel Embiid and formerly Ben Simmons could walk by and feel inspired by Moses Malone and Charles Barkley.

It's worked a lot, I see. Especially for Ben Simmons, right? He's in Brooklyn now putting up photos of him working out. He can't even play basketball.

I'm going to put up photos of me working out. What a ridiculous that guy is. Anyway, kudos to Tom Brady. Because in his closing statement, and I love it, there's always this dumb conversation about is it Brady? Is it Belichick? Is it Brady? Is it Belichick?

Who's more important? Is it Brady? Is it Belichick? Tom Brady said put all that crap to rest. Listen to this.

To Coach Belichick, thank you for your tireless commitment to develop and push me to be my very best. It wasn't me. It wasn't you.

It was us. Oh, that is so sweet. Hickey, they're going to play that at both of their, well, Tom Brady's retired, well not retired, Hall of Fame. Bill Belichick is going to hear that for the next million years.

And they should, it's true. I feel like the conversation about Bill Belichick or Brady or Belichick or Brady, that's like trying to figure out. It's like walking up, not that a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is going to talk to you, right?

They don't. If a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is talking to you, you need to get off the drugs. But it's like walking up to one and trying to figure out who's more important? Is it the peanut butter or the jelly? It's both of them. Both. You can't have one without the other.

So cut the nonsense. Is it Brady? Is it Belichick?

It's both. Belichick had the whole system and had the team and Brady had the talent. He was the quarterback.

He was the engine. So Hickey, was my analogy great? That was a good one. Peanut butter jelly? Oh, I love PB&J.

I think that was spot on. Does that mean Robert Kraft then is the milk? Excuse me? What? Well, you know, you need milk with PB&J, right? Like, you know, it's...

So it will help wash it down? Yeah. And I think Robert Kraft, right?

They was talking about those three. He's the milk? Is he spoiled? Wow. Curdled?

Curdled milk? Maybe we'll leave Robert Kraft out of this then. I may have tried too hard on that one. How old is Robert? What is he, 80-something?

He's up there. I don't want to think about how old is Robert Kraft age. He's like 80-something, 86.

Wow. Looks pretty good for 86. No, he's 83. His birthday was June 5th. He's 83.

Oh, happy belated birthday. Yeah, I don't want to think about an 83-year-old man being equated to milk. No thanks. I'll stick to peanut butter and jelly.
