We heard from the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, Raheem Morris. He says Michael Pennix, Junior is not getting benched. For Kirk Cousins, it's not going down. Not happening.
Okay. We heard from Drew Brees. He said watching the Eagles is boring. He said the offense is boring. Tom Brady defends himself against people who says that he can't be a broadcaster and own a team at the same time.
what First World problems Tom Brady has. We spoke to Kyle Glaser, Major League Baseball season coming to a close on Sunday. Thank you to Kyle for coming through and hanging out with us. And we have more to do. We're going to get into tomorrow night's Thursday night football matchup between the Seahawks and the Cardinals.
We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. And now of course Well We're gonna talk some more crazy. I just gave you a top six list of crazy coaches in sports right now. The Dallas Cowboys, well, their owner pretty much tops the list when it comes to Crazy. We'll get into him as Michael Parsons is getting ready to.
Play the Cowboys, and probably beat the living hell out of them.
Okay? If you want to give me a holler, you can. Here's the number: 888-710-4ISN. That's eight eight eight seven ten. four I S N I don't care if you are in Boston.
Baltimore. Bethesda, You could be in Vancouver, Miami, Boise. Los Angeles You could be in Birmingham Shout out to everybody in Birmingham. We had a caller hit us up to day from Richmond. We appreciate you being here.
888-710-4ISN. You could also find me on the internet. I am at JR Sport Brief. You got Instagram? I'm there.
JR Sport Brief. You got Facebook? Yeah, find me. JR Sport Brief. Yeah, JR Sport Brief on X, Twitter.
Everywhere. But right now, let's go to the phones. Let's have a chat with Tom from Myrtle Beach. Tom, you're on the Gerald Sport B show What is on your mind? Yeah.
Yeah. Your screener to kind of let me jump in on the crazy coaches because sadly, this one passed.
So we recently But Mike Leach, the former Mississippi state coach, Boy, he was different. And I kinda missed not having him around college football. And I I just thought his his character was worth worthy bringing up. even though he's not currently coaching.
Okay. Well well, thank you, Tom, for calling from Middle Beach.
Okay. Thank you. Absolutely. See, that was simple, wasn't it? Yeah, God rest his soul.
He passed a away a couple of years ago, just kinda with that heart issue was like, damn, he's he's coaching and now he's He passed away.
Now, he was known to say some mild things. He was very entertaining, without a shadow of a doubt. It didn't matter if you were. Asking, I remember he did tell that guy he got wedding advice from, well, he gave wedding advice to one of the reporters. That I remember vividly.
Either that or he's talking about aliens and candy. Uh he was uh He was quite eccentric, God rest his soul. I did give you my top six list of crazy coaches in sports to day in honor of Mike Gundy, who is no longer head coach. of uh Oklahoma State. And number six I gave you Fran Brown.
He says when I lose, I don't deserve the shower. And number five I gave you Lane Kiffin. Always gonna complain about somethin'. Even the fans at the tailgate, like y'all taking too long to tailgate. Go from outside to inside.
And number four, I gave you Jim Harbaugh. Number three, I gave you Joe Missoula. Number two, I gave you Bill Belichick. And number one, I gave you Dan Hurley. If you've missed any clips, any audio, Though all the fancy sounds hit rewind.
On the free Odyssey App And we've had a busy day in the world of sports. I told you we got a lot of information when it comes down to some of these quarterbacks. Today we learned that Michael Pennix Jr., the man who threw two interceptions, including a pick six. This past Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, Michael Pennix Jr. doesn't have to worry about Kirk Cousins taking his job.
Rahimora says Kirk Cousins lost his job last year, And Michael Pennix junior? He's not close to that. This year. I mean, Kirk, you know, lost his job last year, you know, but we're not even close to that moment with Mike. Mike had a bad game.
We had a bad day. We had a bad day as a team. And it's easy for everybody to pile on, particularly like I told you, the head coach, the coordinator, obviously the quarterback. First in line for the wounds, right? And he's just in line right now.
He had a bad game. He'll bounce back. A lot of comments, he'll bounce back. And I can't wait to watch the brackets today. Muh can't wait to wait can't wait to see him practice.
Hopefully he's not throwing any interceptions.
Well, let's actually hear from Michael Pennex. He doesn't have Kirk Cousins taking his job. Michael Pennix talked about what he needs to be better at, basically, everything. I kinda hit on it. Um but just executing.
You know, we gotta execute the small details and and do all the small things right in order for us to be able to make big time plays. And I obviously, like I said, it starts with me. You know, I I gotta be better with my execution and um you know, putting us in a position to help us win win football games and also um throw it to the wide open receivers when they open.
So. Yeah. Hey, that's that's how it works in football, right? You want to get the ball to the guy that's the most uh, you know, open? Yeah, that that's that's how football works.
Meanwhile, The Atlanta Falcons and getting ready to take on the Washington Commanders. And we don't even know if Jaden Daniels is going to be there. He did practice today, coming off of that knee sprain. Apparently he was limited in practice no shock, no surprise. And the commanders are going to be right here in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday afternoon.
There's going to be a lot of people traveling for that game, looking for a big old party, Uh Daniel says he feels good. He doesn't know if he's gonna play, he says it's pretty much. Up to the doctors. Is he gonna play? Does he have to put a brace on?
Listen to the question and listen to his answer. Jaden, how much running and cutting have you been able to do so far? En enough to feel good if I play on Sunday. Like I said, it's not my decision. And then have you had to play with a brace before?
No. What's that feeling? Um something to get used to. Would you have to wear one if you do play on Sunday? Uh w we the doctors haven't said that decision yet.
Um so that'll be a conversation. Oh, boy, it'll be a conversation. All these damn quarterbacks, I think he'll play. He's a young guy. You sprain your knee one day, you're good the next.
I don't think this is exactly a uh You know, well, hate to bring this guy up. It's not exactly an RG3 situation with Shanahan threw him to the Wolves. And that was also a little bit later in the season. Uh if if Daniels is healthy, it'll come down to the doctors. If he can go out there, move, run, and cut.
I think they'll play him. But if he shows any signs of not being ready, Don't risk it. Marcus Mariota did do a good job last week. I don't know if we can count on that two consecutive weeks in a row, but I think the commanders will be fine throughout the course of the season. I think if he is to miss a game, I think Jaden Daniels might only miss.
One more. I think you'll be perfectly, perfectly Fine.
Meanwhile, Told you about the New York Giants. Replacing Russell Wilson with Jackson Dart as the starting quarterback, Brian Dayball was asked why he made the change. He was asked about a million times, and this is the answer he gave every single instance. Look, I did it. I'm not going to get into the specifics like I said before.
Um I think it's the right thing for our football team and That's why I'm doing it.
Well, yeah, he's not giving any reasons.
Well, we know the reasons because Russell Wilson sucks. What is he supposed to stand up there and say?
Well, Russell sucks, so that's why Can't do that. Jackson Dart, he spoke to the media as well. Hey man, do you feel any pressure? This is New York City. This is the Giants.
You feeling it? I don't really feel pressured. Um I feel like, you know, pressure is is given to those who play at a high level. And um you know the the best players in the world um are the ones that you are kind of involved with that word pressure. Oh, okay, bruv.
Yeah, you want the best players in the world. like there should be some expectations there. I mean the Giants are hoping you're one of the best players in the world, they hope.
Meanwhile, Russell Wilson, he's been told to have a seat. Sit back. But of course Russell Wilson, he spoke to the media. Captain Positivity basically said Uh, yeah, I'm I'm not finished, I'm not done, I got benched, um, this is how it feels. The best thing I can do is lead from the front.
You know, I thank God every day I get to do what I love to do. and play this game. with guys that I love and enjoy and being around. the locker room, the teammates. We've had three tough games, obviously, the close ones.
um in fashion and three really good teams. We didn't get get to get it done. Man, you could punch Russell Wilson in the face. He would say thank you.
Well, thank you so much for teaching me a lesson. Thank you so much for allowing me to know that I can take a punch. Like everything is positive with this guy. I still believe there's a chance and an opportunity that he does not finish this season. on the New York Giants.
He can say whatever the hell he wants to say publicly, It's not the first time he said something publicly and tried to orchestrate something different behind the scenes. I mean, when he tried to leave Seattle and wanted to trade, basically threw his agent out there. as uh you know, yeah, well he was looking for trades, not me. I didn't say I wanted to go anywhere.
So Uh y you can trust Russell Wilson as far as you could throw him. He's a master of a Of PR. I will give him credit. Bacha, did you know he has a line of sporting wear just for kids? No.
Uh I don't have kids. But maybe I should invest in Rossware?
Okay. But you're going to wear the kids' clothing or are you going to invest in the child?
Well, that's a big investment if I'm investing in the child. But maybe when I do have a kid. I'll invest in some some rust Russ clothes. Oh, okay. No, I just I think that's pretty cool.
I think it's man, we got all these guys who are out here selling shoes, expensive. I ain't buying nobody's expensive shoes. You can throw that crap out the window, I could care less. I ain't buying a pair of Jordans. No no knock on anybody who does.
I just got no interest. I mean, if you buying shoes and you turn it into a business and you flipping them, good for you. But I got no interest in nothing, just because it got a name on it. I do not care. But I ain't buying shoes.
I'm not buying Russell Wilson's clothes. But I just think it's cool. People people sell this stuff at a high price. And Russell Wolfs is like, I'm going to sell kids' clothing. Have you ever heard of an athlete doing that before?
No, but can't some kids' clothings be very expensive. Uh Can't you think Russell Wilson is pricing out the normal people with the clothing? Uh I don't know. I 'cause if it's like a toddler, they grow very fast.
So like you have to buy more. Uh but if it's a kid kid I guess. All kids grow fast. They don't stop growing until they're like, you know, in high school, college. But they kind of slow down a little bit.
Like it's not like a like a a young young child. It's just... I'm saying that maybe is he invested more in like Middle school, or is it like come on, man? A kid is a kid. You're thinking too hard.
Come on, man. Here's this thing he's doing, okay? It's called Three Bran. It's born from Russell Wilson's passion for sport, music, and fashion. He is an elite athlete and cultural icon.
Russell understands the power of movement, style, and community. Our journey began with Russell's hand drawn logo. A partnership with Nike and a clear.
Okay, we okay, this is all the positive stuff about him.
Okay. All right, okay.
Now where do we buy to close at? I'm gonna buy you something right now, Bach, okay?
Well, it's partnered with Nike that you just said, so I guess. Yeah, big kids New York baller t-shirt, $24. No thanks. No thanks. $24?
No, thanks. $60 for a hoodie? Ooh, Tony, too. Yeah, $45 for a big kid speed. Oh, this is Nike.
Yeah. I thought he was selling this on the side to to help out the kids. No, thank you. $50 for shorts. Oof.
Yeah, no no thanks. Yep. Uh three bra Three Brand is a real Nike affiliated line of athletic apparel created in partnership with Russell Wilson.
Alright, well No thanks. I mean, it's a kids' brand probably sewn together by kids. What can I say? That's just uh.
Well, I was giving him some credit. Like I give I give Shaq more credit. Like I think the Shaq still sell the shoes. Kmart doesn't exist anymore. Can't you buy his shoes in, like, Walmart or something for the cheap?
Uh I haven't seen a pair. What were they called? Shack Fu?
Something like that. Yeah, but nobody, but I don't know anybody who just buying Shaq shoes. I don't know. I don't know. I like it.
He tried it. for the the Devastator 2.0's at Kohl's. And they do what? The Shaq Devastator 2.0 sneaker. Ed Coles?
At Coles. That actually doesn't look that bad either.
Okay. All right. It doesn't look. Do you know what is it? The Shaknosis, I think it was, or something like that.
Do you know what that was? It's the the black and white one, right? Yeah, with the yeah it looks like hypnosis. Yeah. This one kinda looks like that.
Wow. Yeah, I remember him wearing those shoes in the 90s. They were moving. Every now and then, you see somebody out there with them Shaknosis. They were.
I I can't front, they were pretty interesting. I don't know if anybody's gonna wear them in uh 2025, but uh Hey, whatever works Whatever works. That's why I stick to simple ass shoes. Simple. G give me something.
Quiets. I don't need all the designs. I ain't spending a couple hundred dollars on shoes. You can throw that out the window. No, thank you.

Oh, this is this is Paul Wall The people's champ. Yaboncha, you know ironically I didn't see Paul Wall. I didn't.
Well here's a better question. Bacha, you know Paul Wall, right? Uh No John Wall. Uh Damn. Yo, shout outs to Paul, the people stamp.
Shane lighted like a lamp anyway I'm sure you already have. Google Paul Wall.
Alright. He's just uh We living a life he's He just seems so pleasant and so kind. And shout outs to Paul Wall. It's good to see people out here. He looks like he's thriving and happy.
I'm very happy for Paul Wall. Anyway, before we get to a couple of old people, Uh Jerry Jones and Sister Jean. This Thursday night football preview is sponsored by a square, More than four million neighborhood businesses run on Square. To learn more, go to square.com or just stop by your favorite local business. See you in the neighborhood.
Square. Yeah, we got week four of the NFL. I can't believe it already gets started to morrow. And we got two teams. They play in the west.
We got the Arizona Cardinals. We got the Seattle Seahawks. Both of these teams, it's crazy. They are both 2-1. Arizona's already been out of here.
They beat. New Orleans, they beat Carolina. I mean, I know Carolina what they did to the Falcons, but I don't want to say that Carolina is all that impressive. Good for them. And then they lost to San Francisco.
Me I will say this forever. I do not trust. Kyler Murray. I just think he's too up and down. I think given his size, there's some inconsistencies there when it comes down to the Arizona Cardinals and their ability to really compete.
They are as average of a team. as average will B. I I can't I can't get with 'em. Never will. Never will.
I mean, I just told you they lost to the Niners, only lost by one point. And Carla? He's like, Yeah, we playing on a short week. But I'll be ready. I'll be ready.
You don't really realize how quick this is until you're in it, you know, watching the game. Usually watching Thursday Night Football, you know, I forget the last time we played was Packers. Was that right? Yeah, so um It's been a long time, so now that you know this is it's us on Thursday, it feels like you really only get a day and a half and you'll be right back out there. Yeah.
It's tough. And now we got we got James Connor who's out. They gotta go out there and do some work. against the Seahawks. Seahawks also lost to the San Francisco 49ers, and they beat Pittsburgh, they beat New Orleans.
Sam Darnold, four touchdowns, two interceptions. I highly doubt what he he does, what the hell he did last year. I'm not expecting that. Sam Darnold He also talks about you know, turning things around. He says the Cardinals are they're a tough team here.
Another great challenge for us this week, man. Just a lot of respect for Coach Gannon and the way that You know, he's got his entire team going right now. You know, that defense is rolling. Yeah, the defense is rough. Don't trust the offense.
Don't believe in it. Cooper Cup well, speaking of old people, Cooper Cup, his body might be old. You might recall Cooper Cup is now a member of the Seattle Seahawks after moving on from the Rams, or the Rams moved on from him after all the injuries. He's thirty two years old playing a wide receiver position. His body's banged up.
How does he feel about playing football? on a short week. You're used to like a Monday, Tuesday kind of let down You know, they refocused back in for the push Wednesday to Sunday. Um you kind of have to just keep it going for uh an extended period of time when you go into these Thursday games. Are you going?
But he already sounds tired. Seattle is going to be in Arizona. Yeah, taking on these these cardinals. Uh You know, Arizona Cardinals don't get a lot of, and the same thing for Seattle at this stage. They don't get a lot of nationally televised games.
I I think if you take a look at Seattle, Who's screaming about Geno Smith? Not too many people. And who's now screaming about? Sam Darnold. Uh not a lot of people, so don't expect that.
And then the Cardinals have been so up and down and up and down, every game, game to game over the years, week to week. It's hard to just throw them on on prime time.
So, this is almost a coin flip of a game. I'm going to go with Arizona at home. Ah Sam Donald I never trust. Kyler Murray can be great one game and just be kind of pedestrian the next. I'm going to go ahead and give Arizona.
the edge at home. We got Thursday night football, week four, already kicking us off. tomorrow. And then probably the the one of the biggest games. This is in prime time, and we know the Dallas Cowboys get a lot of 'em, good, bad, ugly, in between.
Sunday night football we got Green Bay. at the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Parsons will be back in Dallas. He'll be out there chasing after Dak Prescott. This is going to be a nightmare for Jerry Jones.
Probably be a bigger nightmare For Dak Prescott, he ain't trying to get hit. By this man. And so the old man Jerry Jones, he put in his two cents about this. Does he have any hard feelings about Micah returning? This is what he said.
Absolutely not. Not at all. It was nothing personal. I told you I like Mike. And there was no issue regarding As much as uh Uh people wanted to make that of it.
There was no issue. Uh where uh Yeah. uh feelings relative to the negotiations. Certainly not on my part. Uh Part of the course.
No, it's just just feelings, okay? Just feelings.
Well, let's hear from Micah Parsons. Hey, Micah, how do you feel? about going back to Dallas, to take on the team that just traded you and didn't give you a contract. For me, I accepted my faith. Uh weeks ago.
when uh the trade happened so for me it's just all about playing another game and Just doing what I do best. And that'd just be a disruptive football player. you know i think the media and the fans are trying to blow it up to be Such a big thing, but you know, I just look at it just another game at ATT.
Okay. No, he doesn't. That's a lie. I mean, Maury Povich is not on television anymore, but the lie detector says that's a lie. That's not true.
It's not just another game. You can tell everybody it's just another game. But there has to be some animosity given what just took place. This isn't five years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago. This was a month ago.
Okay? Like he has to have some beef. And now he has to take on Dak, All those years playing on the same team, you're not allowed to hit the Q B. This is what Micah Parsons had to say about sacking his former teammate. It's going to be painful.
You know what I mean? Dak's my guy. You know, he was always like a good mentor for me. But you know what it is. He always told me if I ever faced him that it'll be a great matchup.
So I'm excited to see what Sunday brings itself. Yeah, they'll laugh. They'll joke. But he he go after that guy.
Okay. One sack minimum. Botcha, does he have more than one sack? Yes, I think with all the injuries on the offensive line for the Cowboys, it's Swiss cheese. Damn.
The two sacks I would say a sack, maybe a force fumble. tackle for laws. Damn. Yeah, he's he's gonna he's gonna be in his grill. All Sunday night.
That's gonna be a damn good game worth watching. I'll be paying attention, just like everybody else. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. We heard from Jerry Jones.
That's one old guy. Unfortunately, We gotta hear about someone who who people actually like. And I don't well well, I don't think we'll see her again given her current health status. Listen to this report from Good Morning America. This is about Sister Jean, who got famous durin' that Loyola run.
Listen It's the end of an era at Loyola University in Chicago. Say it ain't soon. I'm sorry, I can't. I want to, but I cannot. She is a sports icon off the court at Loyola.
She may have never made a basket, but she has made her mark. We're talking, of course, about Sister Jean DeLura Schmidt, lovingly known as Sister Jean. She became a March Madness sensation back in 2018. I remember it like it was yesterday when Loyola made the final four as a number 11 seed. She regularly appeared courtside.
Cheering on the team, and now at 106 years young, she's retiring as the campus minister and the men's basketball team chaplain. Look at that smile. She has held that title since 1994, guys. Sister Jean celebrated her 106th birthday in August and shared this message with students. She told them, quote, let your dreams become reality.
Don't let anyone stop you. You are the future leaders of our churches, our schools, our country. and our world Wow. De a hundred and si Well, anyway, we should have.
Well, there's a lot of things I want to say here. Got to be very careful. All teams If you want to just automatically increase Your your likability rating You need to have a mascot. She was their mascot. Let's be real.
She was their supporter, but she was their mascot. You need to have an old lady. Or a baby as the mascot. That's it. Like real life human beings.
Because they're hard to not like, okay? Who doesn't like an old lady or a baby? You gotta be an evil S O B to not like a old person or a baby. Most times. Most times.
Anyway, she was spectacular. And we don't need to know her reasonings or why she's retiring. It's a hell she's a hundred and sixty years old. Like, what are we doing here?
Okay, they wasn't going to wheel her to any more basketball games. That just. Shout outs to her. She lived a full life, gave a lot of people joy. I'm I'm happy for a hundred and sixty years old?
Who's retiring at a hundred and six? Damn. That's a long time. Marco Belletti, you're going to retire at 106? Not a chance.
Yeah. When did the Di Moses, how old was Moses? He was like a thousand, right? Or something like that? Callisto Gene, Al.
I don't know. You don't need to at least 200. Moses was two, they said he was 200 years old. Around there, I think. Yeah.
Did he retire? What happened to him? Good question. He had to lead all those people. I know he was tired, right?
A lot of leading he had to do. Yeah. How is hell in those deserts too? Yeah, you He did a lot of. I'd be tired, too.
How'd he last that long, Dan? Yeah. Oh, so he yes. Citrus. Catching on there, Sister Jean.
But I I think it's Abraham that lived pretty old. Abraham was old. Yeah, Abraham had all them kids. I remember him too. Yep.
Yeah, Abraham had all the sons. I remember him. Marco Belletti said, Ask Sister Jean I was supposed to know that in the back of my back pocket. What what was the age of Moses? I don't know what was he 300, 400?
Come on, man. I'm trying to keep track of the the wild card race. I don't know how old Moses was. I I understand.
Well, you know how old sister 106. That's wild. That's it, right? And she just now retired.
Okay. Although I will take your advice. Maybe I gotta start bringing an old person with me everywhere I go. Yeah who's gonna well, you know what? Let me not say that.
Because we got some mean SOBs out here. That's why people who do horrific things, anything bad to old people or kids, Marco. They should they should have the hellbeat out of 'em. Simple as that. I ain't arguing with that, but I want to also kind of see your theory because I want to see if I bring an old person with me around the streets of New York if people are nicer than me, because I don't think they will be.
Uh That's my point. That was my point. They should be, right? It should be, but I feel like they're going to be looking to knock both of us over because we're walking too slow. Yeah, look at you and this old lady walking too slow.
Y'all are taking up too much of the sidewalk. Yeah, it's just um Yeah. Yeah, is New York City a place for old people? Is it? Um I don't know.
I mean, I see a lot of old people, so apparently it is. I have 106, but you got to be able to, you know, you better be from here because you got to be able to keep pace or get the hell out of the way. Yeah, it's not good. It's not good. I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen an elderly person in Times Square.
Oh, they think they're smart enough not to go to New York Times Square. Man, how many pock d they don't have enough pockets to get picked, do they? They're the ones that are dressed up in the costumes. The old people. How do you know that?
No, not at all. I'm just, I'm assuming they need a side. No, they're not. I've seen Mickey Mouse take his head off at Tom Square. He's not old.
Come on, man. Not that one. The other ones. The other ones who. The older ones.
There's more than one Nikki Mouse. There's Mickey Mouse. And they're all young, and they get on the train from Queens.
Okay? Yeah. I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised one day A mini mouse takes off the mask and it's it's just a grandma. No, no. They're a couple from Queens, okay.
