I exist everywhere. At JR sport brief. And it right before we went to break. In hilarious fashion, We heard from a head coach who is uh You know, he might be on his way out. Brian Callahan with the the Tennessee Titans.
You know, and given his explanation of uh Titans being 0-3. the offence being stagnant, He's given up play calling duties. He's saying it's not a big deal. It's it's not looking good. And then And then you got the quarterback.
Shoutouts to Cam Ward. Not an easy start here in the NFL. Cam Ward is complaining about the uh the turf at the stadium. He's like, yeah, we practice on turf, but then when we play, or excuse me, we play on turf, but when we practice, we're on grass. It's like th this is what you're worried about right now, man?
The team sucks. Not worried about the surface, all right? Tennessee Titans might be back next year with the number one overall pick again. And then, unfortunately, we got John Matier. He broke his hand.
He broke his hand against Auburn. We know he's going to be out. uh a month here. with the Sooners. It really stinks.
This college football season has just been topsy turvy, upside down, and People are ready to kill Arch Manning, how bad he looks, and then John Matthias pops up, he looks amazing, Hosman candidate, and now he's out with this uh this hand injury.
So it's uh it's it's wild out here, man. This is what happens in in sports. People get hurt, people go down. and you expect people to step up. Sports is volatile you gotta be ready.
for change. You have to be ready. for change. Speaking of change, I'm going to tell you about some changes coming to baseball. Robots or coming to baseball.
I'll get into that in a minute. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. For I am Yeah. And hey, let's go to Milwaukee. But we got Erve here.
Hey, Erv, you on the chair our sport brief show, what's on your mind? Hey man, listen, it's a good time for Wisconsin Sport. I got my Packers, man. Maybe that was a wake-up call for me to. Hey, we can't take nobody lightly, and we got my brewers doing good.
But I just heard about the Joey Bosa thing, and listen, man. Don't mix him. It's Nick. Joey's now playing for the Bills.
Okay. Nick is still on the Niners. Yes, I've had four ACL surgeries, man, and now that I'm fifty three, man, it's It's rock. Like I you know I I need I need a new replacement and you talk about the gel injections, I get those every six months, but I just think the man should probably enjoy his money, man, and walk away from the game while he He's got his uh girl. You said you've had four ACL tears or surgeries?
Yeah. Yeah, two on your um two on each leg. Two cadaver surgery and one my uh I think that's a good idea. Oh man. And is is this just a matter of uh, you know, bad luck with your knees or were you playing sports or something?
No, I was I was in law enforcement and um just in one motorcycle accident And uh just a series of unimpo unfortunate events. Damn. Yeah, so now I'm catching it, bro. I really want to, you know, do a lot of things and Is this a handwriting man? Wow.
Yeah, so Nick Bosa. He has it in high school. He toured ACL as a senior in high school. He tore his uh his left knee in 2020. in the NFL.
This year he tore his right knee. When he was in high school, he tore his right knee.
So he's torn the right knee twice now. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's that's gonna be rough man for him to come back 'cause you know playing his position is a lot of leverage and um I I just don't see I think he should just walk. He he's probably got a guaranteed contract. I think he should just count his money and sit back and say, he turns 28 next month, Nick Bosa does.
It feels like he's been around. Ah, forever. He turns 28, so he's not an old guy. He signed a five-year, $170 million contract back in 2023. $122 million of that money is guaranteed.
Yeah, man. I take your money and run, man. Like you know. We'll see. I mean, having now toured this ACL twice, there's no guarantees that we'll see him.
next year. There's no guarantee in that, so What what's your prediction for the Packers um Cowboys game. Oh, man, you asked me about the. Have you seen the Dallas Cowboys? Have you watched them play?
Do they have a defense? You've had four ACL tiers. Are you going to help them on defense? You probably could. Man, I just want to see Michael sh show up and show out.
Oh man. Michael? Wh which which wh what Mike are you talking about? I said Micah. Oh, oh, Michael Parsons.
I said Michael. I was like, Jerry Jones? Are you Jerry Jones? You confused? No, listen.
How many sacks do you think Mike is going to have against Dak? I give them two. Yeah. Look, he gonna hit that even if it's not a sack, he gonna hit that man one time, minimum, minimum. He's going to be out there ripping that guy to shreds.
Hey, good luck with that one. That's going to be one hell of a revenge game, okay? All right, man, and I love the show, bro. I appreciate you. Thank you so much, Irv, for calling from Milwaukee.
And shoutouts to Irv. Damn He's like, Man, I done had four ACLs. Damn He got the cadavers. He got uh Little donation, little knee donation right there. I think that's what uh which ball is it?
Lonzo? Yalonzo has that a That same thing Lonzo now on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Can't wait to see what he does with Cleveland. That'll that'll help. Yeah, man, change damn.
Botch, have you ever had surgery? Uh no, thank goodness because trying to keep it out. 'Cause what? Under anesthesia. I don't wanna have a scar I don't want to feel pain.
There's a lot of reasons. Uh you started the anesthesias y you got the whole process down, huh?
Well yeah, because one, I'm gonna be I can't control what's happening. Of course. And then two, it's gonna be there forever. And then three, it's gonna hurt forever. It it's not necessarily going to hurt forever.
That's why you get the surgery. Yeah, there they'll be leftover pain. It's not always going to be a for a couple yeah maybe for a couple of weeks. It depends, man. Come on.
I'm not trying to push you into an operating room. I'm glad that you've never needed surgery. I'm glad that you don't need to get cut open now and I hope you never have to do that. But If you ever need it, you'll be okay, okay? Modern medicine, modern science, modern technology.
Come on. I trust the doctors. You trust, you gotta trust robots. Come on, this technology. We got robots out here performing surgery.
They can stitch up a grape with precision. I mean, damn it, uh, driving around here in Atlanta today Man, do you know I had to drive behind two robots? Michael Moore. I'm walking down the street. It's not just me and humans.
Man, we got robot they got robots delivering food out here. Like, I got a robot behind me beeping me to move out the way. I'm like, I'm in the street. Like, what am I doing? Robots.
The robot. having a knife and cutting me open. not the biggest fan of that. Oh, it'll be better than a human. I don't know.
One one little mess up and well, you can settle it both, but I trust the humans more.
Well, I don't know, but listen, it depends on what you're talking about. I if something has to cut me open, let the robot do it. I think he'll be more efficient. Anyway, I also hope to uh Never find out. And speaking of robots, Major League Baseball said Here, l l let's move into the year twenty twenty five.
Think about this. In Major League Baseball. is finally going all in. On the Robo umps.
Now, Disclaimer We're not going to have robots out here calling balls and strikes. It is strictly going to be a a challenge system.
So we're not gonna have any umpires that are getting fired. No umpire will be out here getting replaced by, you know, Johnny Cab or Rosie or iRobot or the Terminator, none of the other robots you could think about. It's simply going to be a system. that we saw in spring training, that Major League Baseball implemented about a couple of months ago at the All Star game, where a player somebody on the field of play. the batter, the pitcher or the catcher.
That's it. They can challenge a call, a ball or a strike, by tapping on their helmet or their cap, And they basically tell the umpire, Hey, check that one. Nobody from the dugout is going to be able to scream. Nobody's going to yell, that was a ball, what the hell are you doing? You have to be A batter, a pitcher, or a catcher.
And at that point You know, they'll go to the video review. They'll use the Hawkeye technology that gets utilized in soccer, that you also see in tennis, and we'll find out whether or not it's a ball. or strike. Every team is going to start with two challenges. A team can keep its challenge if it's successful.
You lose it, of course, if you use it and you lose the appeal. And then by the time you get to extra innings, you know, if you run out of challenges, you get one more.
So I'm a fan of this. I got no problem. I think we should go out there and get the calls right. That would be nice. And the fact that the umpires keep their job, I think, is also a plus.
This is one of the cases where. You can utilize technology. As an assistant, as opposed to just relying on it in whole. And then the fact that the players are the ones who are going to make the call, it holds them accountable. Because for all the whining and complaining and a crying that they're liable to do, At least there's accountability.
You can't be out here just challenging things. And if you become the jerk who's challenging every single call and every single play, your team is going to start looking at you going, man, just shut up. Don't do it. It's going to be real fun. Rob Manfred, he talked about this in July.
Remember, they tested this for the first time on the big stage at the All Star Game. Rob Manfred was on McAfee and he talked about the demand for this automatic ball strike system. This year, the emails about bad balls and strike calls have gone like this, up crazy because they've now seen you can do it better. And the sort of theme of the emails is what the hell are you waiting for? I got it.
We're going to use it tonight. It's been used in the minor leagues for several years and we tested it with big league guys in spring training last year. We're in a process directed at bringing it to the big leagues next year. Yeah. Well, he says people are anticipating it.
I could tell you somebody was not. Aaron Boone Aaron Boone was on the Talkin' Yanks podcast, and the manager of the New York Yankees. He says that he hates the system.
Well, he likes yelling at the umpires. Listen to this. You don't like the ABS challenge system. Why not? I I just honestly hated it.
Just the frivolous 1-0 challenge in the second inning, stopped the game. Oh, it changes now. It's not. 1-1, it's 2-0. Inevitably, you're going to have the last play of the game, a big win overturned on a ball an inch one way or the other, and it changes.
I'm the guy that gets kicked out and argues the strike zone and everything. I really think our umpires are as good as they've ever been. They keep getting better. We just know when they miss by an inch. I'm all over you when you're missing by an inch.
But the reality is, they're getting better and better all the time. And I don't think I want it.
Well, it's it's inevitable. He's going to miss the chance and the opportunity to go out to Aaron Boone. He loves going out to the umpires and giving them a piece of his mind. The guy has a pacemaker, too, by the way. Every time he goes out there, I'm like, bruh.
Please take it easy. Keep that heart rate low. No need to go out there and blow a gasket. But he loves getting ejected. He loves cursing and yelling and screaming at the umps and getting the boot.
I think it's ultimately good for the game. Aaron Boone is correct. We're going to get to a game. And a game is going to be overturned at the end. And I think as this goes on, We're going to have players.
Early in the game, in a second inning, and a third inning, and a fourth. They're going to be smart about these challenges. I don't think we're going to have a guy in the first inning going, hey, I want a challenge. You want to utilize them. when the games are are are are tight at the end, And the coals really matter, and you're running out of out.
So I'm a fan of this. I would not be, I think this is a good. Kind of compromise instead of having robots take the game over completely and calling balls and strikes. I'm a fan. Like, I'm with this.
I'm really interested to see how it gets implemented. Man, they've been testing this in the miners since 2019. They tested it in spring training, and I like the fact that the player is going to have to be accountable instead of complaining to the damn umpire.
So, I like this system. can look forward to it full time. in twenty twenty six. It's the JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. We are going to take a break.
And when we come back, speaking of changes, the New York Giants made a change at quarterback earlier today. Jackson Dart is now getting the start.

The New York Giants, of only three games, have made a. A big move. Jackson Dart is now the starting quarterback over Russell Wilson. What does this mean for Russell Wilson? What does this mean for Dart?
What does this mean for Dayball? What does this mean for the Giants? Joining us right now is someone who covers all things, New York Giants, for SI, Locked on Giants podcast. Joining us right now is Patricia Traynor. Patricia, how are you?
I'm doing well. How are you? I'm very well. Really appreciate the time. We see that the New York Giants have made this move.
Brian Dayball has kind of changed his tune over the past couple of weeks, and today we find out Jackson Dart is the starting quarterback. Are you surprised, even with the record, that they've made the change this early? Yes and no. I'm surprised that, you know, especially after they talked Russell Wilson up all offseason, the leadership, everything, that, you know, football is a team game and it's not, you know, the 013 record is not necessarily on one guy. You know, that I guess I'm surprised with.
I'm not surprised because. I figured that if they got off to a slow start, this is year four of the Brian Dable and Joe Shane era. They have to win. John Mara last year, at the end of last year, made that very, very clear. And with the season starting to circle the drain, this could almost be viewed sort of like a desperation move.
the a case of maybe Dable seeing that the kid is ready to go. And is he really ready to go? I mean, we won't know obviously until he starts playing, but I think they're hoping that he is ready to go and that what they saw in practice wasn't a mirage.
Well, Patricia, you talk about the implications that this has on Brian Daywolf's job as head coach of the New York Giants. What are the implications? If they finish at around even or Jackson Dart shows some potential, doesn't he now also have a case to say Hey, you gotta let me see this through to next year or w would that be a negative? No, I think he'll make that case. I mean, if the team finishes, you know, with the same record as last year, which hopefully they won't, you know, Dave will.
Like you said, he could say to John Mara, hey, you know, the kids show progress, so let's. You know, let's keep with the plan here.
Now, that doesn't mean that the entire coaching staff will necessarily be back. I mean, I have to think some of the coordinators might be on the hot seat, so to speak. But, you know, the bottom line is if this thing spirals out of control and if the offensive line doesn't do its job and Jackson Dart gets bounced around back there like a pinball machine, all arguments now are going to evaporate for Dable and it could lead to him being dismissed. No, yeah, it could. It could definitely.
Patricia Traynor is here with us. Covers the Giants for SI. When you think about Russell Wilson, who's been benched now, we know Jameis Winston is still on the roster. Is there a chance that we see Russell back on the field? Will he ultimately be released?
Will he be traded? What's his future look like? I think for the time being, Russell's going to be quarterback two behind Jackson Dart. That being said, I don't think Russell Wilson came to New York with the idea that he would be a backup quarterback. I don't know obviously what kind of conversations they have, but if you go back to a year ago when Daniel Jones was here and he was coming off of his injury.
Russell Wilson made a start here, or stop here rather. And he went on to Pittsburgh because basically the Giants told him when Daniel Jones is healthy, he's going to be our starter.
So you can stay and you can, you know, be our backup, but Daniel's our starter.
Well, Russell didn't want any part of that. He went to Pittsburgh, where he started and ended up having to split time with Justin Fields at the time. But I think that was due in part to injury.
So, I can't imagine that Russell Wilson is going to. fully embrace the situation. I don't think he'll make problems. I don't think he'll cry about it to the media. That's not the type of person he is.
But I could also see a scenario where maybe Just maybe After a few weeks, maybe the Giants look to move him in a trade to one of these quarterback-needy teams. Cincinnati probably needs a quarterback. Um, New Orleans, who the Giants face in week five, they probably could use a veteran quarterback.
So maybe there's an opportunity there if Jackson Dart takes root as the starter, they say, Okay, you know what, Russ, you've been a good soldier. We're going to send you to a team where you can be a starter, and we're just going to roll with our plan that we were going to roll with next year, which would be to have Dart start. and Jameis Winston back'em up. Patricia, what do you think the reception is from the locker room? We heard for the past couple of weeks, especially this past Sunday, the players are not stupid.
They play conde coy. Oh, I didn't hear the fans calling for Jackson and not paying attention to it. They hear it, they know. Is this something that you think is being embraced in the locker room, and how is this offense going to change with Dart in command? I think the players are going to say the right thing, but I think they're going to have one eye open on the on, or both eyes open on this because, you know, look, a rookie quarterback, this isn't preseason anymore.
Jackson Dart, for as good as he looked in preseason, and don't get me wrong, the kid's got a very bright future in the NFL, but think about it. He was the quarterback to Named at the start of the season, which means he really didn't see a whole lot of snaps with the first team offense. In preseason, he basically worked against. Backups, you know, second team defenders, third team defenders, and there was no game planning.
So I think there's going to be some major questions about, you know, how ready is he really.
Now the players get to see him in practice. But again, the starter gets the bulk of the reps.
So what criteria are they using to say that this kid is ready? That's the big question. It's not like he can take a test and if he gets 80% or higher, he's deemed ready. It's a bunch of factors that goes into it. As far as how the offense is going to change, I think they're going to take a little bit more advantage of Dart's mobility, which is a little better than Russell Wilson's is at this point in Russell's career.
And they're going to just try and open that offense up a little bit more. I wouldn't be surprised if you see some things that are going to remind you of Dable's days up in Buffalo when he had Josh Allen. Hmm. Oh, well well, listen, that'd be music to a lot of Giants fans' ears, Patricia, if uh you know they got anything close to that. When you think about these the the losses that the Giants have taken, An ugly one against Washington to start the season.
Sunday night was ugly. Losing in a shootout against Dallas. Is there a bright spot? Is there anything a Giants fan can see or gleam as any type of positive so far this season? I think you gotta like what Cam Scattered Boo brings to the game.
I mean, he's got a personality that I think everybody saw on display Sunday night. Hard runner, very hard to bring down. Almost reminds me somewhat of a young Brandon Jacobs. Brandon Jacobs had a personality and he was this big guy who was tough to bring down.
Now, obviously, Cam Scadabu was not as big or as tall as Brandon Jacobs is, but he's definitely been a bright spot because, look, the Giants' running game has kind of been flatlined since Saquon Barkley left. And I think that that unit has been searching for an identity. And, you know, unfortunately, with Tyrone Tracy looking to miss, you know, two to four weeks with that shoulder injury that he suffered, this is going to be a good opportunity, I think, for Cam Scatabue to help bring pride back.
Well, that's not the right word. They've always had Pride, but to help kind of put the Giants running game back on the mat because it's kind of been an afterthought, if you think about it, in this offense. Yeah, well, I mean, have the Giant I mean, outside of T.E. Barber and Brandon Jacobs, am I missing anything? Has this not been.
The running game period has been kinda quiet for for years now. Yeah, it has. I mean, you know, Saquon kind of, you know, had some success here, but. Look at the offensive line. I mean, look at what Saquon's doing out in Philadelphia with a better offensive line.
So that's certainly been a part of the problem. But yeah, the the Giants running gay. Look. They play in the northeast, and as it gets colder, what do you think they're going to want to do? They're going to want to pound the ball, they're going to want to wear out the opposing defense and then hit them with, you know.
Play action or some of these quick throws and whatnot, and they haven't really been able to do that.
So, you know, the hope is this running game now finds a personality, now finds a stronger heartbeat, if you will, and you know, you suddenly you'll have a more balanced offense.
Well, Patricia, moving forward for the rest of the season, now that we know that Jackson Dart is is going to take over, what is the rest of this year going to look like? Is this just an evaluation of him? Is do you think he's going to get yo-yoed? Is he going to be entrenched? What are your thoughts here?
I think they would like for him to finish out the season and would like to see him get better and better each week. Um whether that happens. There's other factors. I mean, will the offensive line hold up? That's the big question mark.
I think if you ask any Giant fan, any Giant reporter, that's question, you know. One of the top questions that we have. The defense, you know, let's not forget about the defense either. The defense hasn't been horrible, but you know, there's been some questions about the play calling, the scheme. Is it the right fit for these players?
So that's something to keep an eye on as well. But for Jackson Dart, I think ideally they would like to see him take. Steps forward every week and be better in week 18 than he was in week one, week two, week three. Whether that happens, you know, look, football is a team sport, you know, and if Jackson Dart has his receivers dropping passes or his offensive line is not giving him protection, you know, is it really going to be fair to say at the end of the year that his rookie campaign was a success or a failure?
Well, we're gonna we're gonna find out right out of the gate here This Sunday, Jackson Dart making his first NFL career start against the Los Angeles Chargers. You know, Herbert, one of the best quarterbacks in the game, is going to be slinging that ball all over the place. Let's see if Jackson Dart Can go out there and keep up in game number one. Patricia, thank you so much for your time and your expertise in covering the team. Where can people follow you and your work on SI and elsewhere?

Covers all things New York. Giants. I think Russell Wilson will be gone and I think all things considered, we're going to see Jackson Dart the rest of the season, barring injury. You know, maybe it's a bad game. He gets pulled four quarter at the end and you know, oh, is is he gonna start again?
And they have him start the next game after pulling him to kind of teach him something.
So it's it's gonna be an exercise in in Brian Daybull trying to keep his job. While still having Jackson Dart out there, 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. We got Marco Belletti here. Marco, what are your thoughts?
Jackson is going to ride out the rest of the season. He may get pulled here or there, but he's going to be the starter the rest of the way. What do you think? 100%. And if he gets pulled, that means it's really like a, you're talking like three for 23 kind of situation where the game's out of hand and they don't want him to get embarrassed.
He's going to go out there and he's going to play. How good he's going to be, we'll find out. But once you make this decision and you pull that lever and you go to your rookie, there's no turning back. And there's nothing you're turning back to. Russell Wilson, that's done.
And you're not going to Jameis Winston. This is Jackson Dart's team now. And it's a question of what he puts together. Yeah, it's funny to see Brian Dayball. He's made his bed.
Now he's got to lay down in it. It may actually determine his fate as the head coach. The New York Giants are going to be an interesting watch the rest of the way. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infiniti Sports Network. But speaking of embarrassing And I think one of our callers asked this question as well.
Jerry Jones might be getting ready for an embarrassment. Yeah, we're already pulling up on week number four. The Green Bay Packers are going to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Micah Parsons is going to be standing across from Dak Prescott. Jerry Jones.
This is going to be another embarrassment? I think so. We'll hear from Jerry on the other side of the break. And then I got to tell you about another embarrassment. I don't know if we finally gotten here, but I feel like we are.
The India in a fever Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, the whole team is Obnoxious.
Okay, they are a pain in the ass. Even Caitlin Clark.
Okay, what's come over her? We'll get into this on the other side of the break, but let's get into a newsflash. You just heard his voice. Here he is, Marco Bulletti. Listen up, football fans.

You can call me about anything. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. four I S N Thank you so much to Patricia Traynor for joining us in the last break. Been covering the New York Giants for a long time, came through and and gave us her thoughts on Jackson Dart and Russell Wilson, I believe that Jackson Dart is going to be able to kind of see his way through the course of the season, and Brian Dayboll is looking to sink or swim with his own head coaching career right now with the Giants, with Jackson Dart at the helm. If you missed that conversation, go ahead and hit Rewind.
On the free Odyssey app. The New York Giants, as we know, they're not the only dysfunctional team here. playing in the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys. Certainly on the map, they've been dysfunctional all year long. We know that CeeDee Lamb is now going to miss some time.
We got Michael Parsons, who's going to be returning to take on the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming Sunday.
Now that he's a member of the Green Bay Packers, that's going to be a prime time game on NBC.
So that is your Sunday night football matchup. Dallas Cowboys 1-2. Just got embarrassed against the Chicago Bears. They had Caleb Williams out there looking like a world beater. And so the Dallas Cowboys, to the shock of nobody, They're looking bad.
They gave up thirty one points to the Bears.
Okay, maybe the defense will look a little bit different. if Michael Parsons was back there uh you know causing havoc. But he's not. He's now a member of the Green Bay Packers.
So the Dallas Cowboys are their own bleep show. And Jerry Jones, he was on 1053 the fan. And he was talking about Trona. you know, see if there was added motivation taking on Micah and whether they were going to show him love on the way back in and just listen to this old man speak. Yes, yes, I do.
And I think that, of course, I. have said this time and time again. I've think the world a marker. And uh as an individual and of course know him well But and I might say I wish him well, except it's obvious I don't this weekend in terms of Green Bay winning the ballgame. And so it makes for an exciting time.
And I'm anxious to see if uh over the years when I saw Michaels mitigated when I saw teams playing pretty well. which it's uh he's gonna make some plays no matter how you play him. But when I saw people play us well with Micah in the game, and it did happen. then obviously we'll be looking to try to run those kinds of plays. Yeah, he's he can't well, has he ever admitted he was wrong?
Has he? In any capacity? I mean, he's certainly not going to do so at this stage of the season. He's not going to say that I'm I'm wrong in getting rid of Micah. You could have paid Micah last year.
I hope Michael Parsons Saxe Dak Prescott. Three times. Three times, I don't know an arbitrary number, three times would be obnoxious, okay? If you hit him four times, that would be ridiculous. And when I say hit, I mean not just a quarterback hit, I mean a sack.
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm going to go with Mike having a more than one of those. uh this upcoming Sunday. Jerry Jones just out here saying wild and ridiculous things. Everything that he said so far about the defense and potentially improving and stopping the run uh hasn't hasn't really helped. And who's who's surprised?
I don't I don't think anybody. This man says nutty things. And speaking of nutty things, let me get this out the way. Yet the WNBA finals are going on. And somehow, Caitlin Clark is still a topic of conversation, even though she is not playing.
We know she's out for the season with that groin issue. All year long, she was dealing with leg issues, her thighs, or quads, or groin. Maybe rest is something that her body absolutely needs. But despite this, Indiana Fever are here in the Final Four. They're still going.
I mean, well, they beat Atlanta. to advance to the semifinals. On Sunday, they took on Las Vegas and they beat them. You got Kelsey Mitchell, who a lot of people are not familiar with. She's been doing a lot of scoring for Indiana.
She's no longer some catch and shoot person with Caitlin Clark on. But Caitlin Clark was recently fawn get this. Two hundred dollars For criticizing Referees. Two hundred bucks.
Okay, she went on social media after they eliminated the Atlanta Dream. And knowing that she's sitting on a bench she can't play, Her teammate Sophie Cunningham is also on the bench. She's out for the year with a a knee tear. And these two are on the bench and they're like a bench mob. You know, I don't want to call it the Sacramento Kings from like 25 years ago, but you know, they're screaming on a bench, and these are stars.
These are two of the biggest names in the WNBA. They can't play. but they are making their voices heard, And so Caitlin Clark went on social media after the game. And she basically said The refs could not stop us. Elite Bench Mob WNBA said Can't say that.
They find her two hundred bucks. We then heard from her teammate, Sophy Cunningham. Hey, what, 200 bucks is really hurting Caitlin Clark?
Well, it's kind of obnoxious at this point. I mean, Caitlin Clark has even this season has just been crazy. critical of the rest to a degree where why are you complaining? You're not even playing at this point in time. And so we don't see this from NBA players.
Why should we expect uh to have this from WNBA players? Like, it's just it's getting out of hand right now.
Sophie Cunningham has been find uh her herself here. Not even playing. I mean, she was on her podcast. And and she's just Just listen to her what what she had to say about this on TikTok. Talking about like our first week, what people had to say, well, the WNBA find me.
What happens is they text or they text, they email our GM and she pulls me aside and she goes, Come here, so if I have to talk to you, and this was in like front of everybody, and I was like, What did I do now? And she just smiled and she goes, They're gonna find you again. I was like, I even told them, I even credited them that their job was hard. Like, look at the whole picture. What are we doing?
Yeah. Your job is hard, but it's you you suck.
Well, th yeah, that's that's that's a fine. You can't do that. I mean, the WNBA wants to be viewed more as a legitimate league. You you can't have the top player. The biggest celebrity in the league who can't play right now.
on social media. just blasting and and and getting after the reps. Like, I remember clearly, damn it, when Caitlin Clark was still in college, her dad would yell at her, Shut up. Like, why are you out there arguing with the refs and you're trying to get technicals? And now she's doing this on social media?
I don't know. I I just find it I find it's hacky. Like, just leave the damn refs alone. Do what you got to do during the game, but all the social media, and then they're mocking the league. I mean, they want to be viewed as a money-making league, and we pay us what we owe us, pay us what we deserve.
Y'all don't act like it. You let the referees join the game. Don't kill the refs on social media. What are we doing? And then complain about them on podcasts.
It's just, and then, oh, well, you're finding us no amount of money? Like, what are we doing? They're becoming obnoxious here. Even Caitlin Clark, please stop. Stop before you start selling those shoes.
The shoes are gonna sell out anyway. 888-710-4ISN. Bert is here from Baltimore. You're on the JR Sport Reef Show. Good evening, Joel.
How are you this evening? Um excellent. Go ahead, Bert. Excellent. I got one question then two questions first.
I'm a big fan of the ABS. I think it's time I have seen some horrendous Uh I shall land this call this year that almost mind bothering. I'm talking about five, six, eight off the play card strike. Yeah. I think it's worked very well in the minor legs and I'm all for it.
I think it's time. I think it's past time to be honest.
Well, I I agree with you. We talked about the automatic ball strike challenge system earlier. What else you got? I'm concerned about my team, which is the Baltimore Ravens. I don't understand.
I thought last year that they promoted Zach Gordon early for defensive coordinator. After the middle of the season, we kind of turned it around, but we're digging ourselves into a big hole. We're in a division that's right for the taking again, and I'm not our defense is like. They ran through the middle of us last night at will almost. And I'm I'm I'm somewhat concerned.
Well, and we had this conversation earlier in the show with Jeremy Kahn, who joined us. And thank you so much, Bert, for calling from Baltimore. I think the team is going to round into shape. Uh look, th these first two losses They played Buffalo. They played Detroit.
These are two of the best teams, two of the best offenses in the entire NFL. I think when you factor in some of the injuries, there's still time for the Baltimore Ravens to turn things around. It's not what anybody wants to hear when the record is one and two. I expect the Ravens, if they're healthy, they're going to go on one of these winning streaks. They're going to win some games.
They're going to be back in the postseason. I think the defense is going to get better. I'm not ringing the alarm bells on the Baltimore Ravens. I think they'll be cool. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
