Eastern. Three Pacific. We have gone through and discussed a lot. Thank you so much to Levi Weaver from joining us from the Athletic. to talk all things Major League Baseball as we are now two days away.
From the trade deadline. We've talked about, unfortunately, a lot of the injuries that have taken place today in the NFL, in training camps. Isaiah Likely going down, Christian Gonzalez going down, Maxwell Hairston going down. Guys getting hurt all over the damn place. and somebody not hurt but back at work.
Trey Hendrickson. He's showing up to work tomorrow, ending his holdout. From the Cincinnati Bengals. No new contract. But he is going back to work.
Not to practice, but just to be there.
Okay? Can't wait to see what he says tomorrow. Speaking of people saying dumb things. Jimmy Haslam, the owner of the Browns, putting his foot in his mouth again. Just saying, hey, I didn't draft Shador.
That's my GM. I ain't had nothing to do with it. Then don't bother me about it. He's an interesting fellow. We're going to hear some more of his comments surrounding Arch Manning.
Because there's a lot of people thinking the Browns are just trying to tank. for Arch Manning and he's just like, eh, not so fast.
Okay, we're going to get into LeBron James and Luca. We got Pete Cowell with some words on Christian Wilkins and his release. Of course, at the end of the show. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. We have, oh, so much to get into.
Like I said, you can always hit Rewind on the free Odyssey app. Thank you for listening live on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. If you got Sirius X Summits 375. You got a smart speaker, ask it to play. The Infinity Sports Network.

eight eight eight seven ten. 4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-1. I S N You know, but before we move on to this major issue that I mentioned just across the board. in all sports.
I did tell you about some of these comments made uh by Jimmy Haslam. He basically said that picking and selecting Shador Sanders in the draft was Not his thing. You didn't expect it to happen. You can put that at the feet in the hands of the GM, Andrew Berry. He said that domestic violence issues among some of his players or Nobody had a history of it, so you know, we got to do better.
The same guy who wanted to bring Deshaun Watson onto the team and give him a guaranteed deal, which was stupid. And then Jimmy Haslam had some words to say. about Arch Manning. We know Arch Manning, slated to now be the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, thank God. We only saw him really start one game against a crap team, Louisiana Monroe.
Yeah, who expected anything out of that? But now that Quinn Ewers is a dolphin, This is now Arch Manning's time. And Jimmy Haslam has some connections to Tennessee. Obviously, we know who went to Tennessee. Peyton Manning went to Tennessee.
There's some connections between Jimmy Haslam. And the volunteers and the Manning family. And so Jimmy Haslam was asked earlier today, amongst the other things. About Arch Manning. Whether or not we will ever or can't expect to see him in a Browns uniform, whether or not we can expect him to make it to the NFL and be selected by the Browns.
Are the Browns setting things up? to suck this year and get their hands on Arch. Jimmy Haslam? Eh, not the smartest of guys. He gave this response.
You get paid by how many hits you get, okay? And I think if you know the Manning family, I would bet that and I don't know Arch at all, okay? I bet he stays in college two years, so that's I don't even think that's worth discussing.
So Yeah, well, we don't know that. It's It's speculative, right? He was in college last year. He didn't really play. This year is going to be a year.
You mean to tell me if he wants a husband he's he's not just gonna leave? Enter into the NFL. Maybe he sticks around. I don't know. What the hell if I know?
Not like he needs The money It's not like he can't go back and get an education while he's already adjusting into the league.
So let's see. We don't know what this first year is going to look like. I don't expect Arch Manning to look like Joe Burrow. Uh down at LSU. But Arch Manning, if you ask Peyton, Oh, Payton is pretty high on his nephew.
Payton was having a chat with Pat McAfee. about a month ago. And he said that this guy He can make throws that I could only dream about. He says, I leave it to his parents to go out there and, you know, kind of steer him. But I'm here for advice.
Eli is here, but this guy is, he's going to be amazing. Listen to Peyton. I'm excited to watch Arch play. He's been very patient. I thought he threw the ball really well at the camp.
He and Garrett Dussmeyer in in the kind of our three throwing exhibitions really threw the ball well. All the quarterbacks threw it well. It's impressive. I mean, they make throws that I wouldn't even think about making. I mean, Arch made a throw the other day that I'd have to hit the cutoff man and overskit the ball to the actual receiver.
Yeah, Peyton Manning is thinking about baseball. He's like, I can't even throw the ball. Yeah, everybody's excited to see Arch. I didn't want to see Quinn Ewers last year. I mean, I didn't think that he was gonna stay healthy for the most part and, you know.
Now he's in the league, so God bless him, he's gone. He's with the Dolphins. Quinn Ewers got. You thought Shador had it bad. They selected Quinn Ewers in the seventh.
Round. Yeah, I don't know about his durability, so I guess being on the Dolphins is probably a perfect fit. You know, given some of the thoughts of their starting quarterback, Tuatanga Valoa, you want to talk about somebody who is. and always nicked up and banged up. Yeah, Tua is certainly in that category more often than not.
And in Arch Manning, everybody's waiting to see what he does and how he performs. Yeah. During SEC media days, he was just. He was kind of chill, he was kind of relaxed about it all. He was asked about finally getting his chance and finally getting his opportunity.
He was asked if he was concerned or worried about anything. Is there room for him to grow? And he's just like. Not really. I mean, even dealing with the media, he's like, I just play football.
This ain't no big deal. say probably from going I played this is not really a big deal, but I played every year in high school. It was two A high school football, so that doesn't mean anything. But from sitting out and not playing, that was pretty tough. But I think more so now Um Just dealing with um The media and stuff, like I don't really care about all that.
So just I'm just here to play football, and that's kind of what I want my focus to be. Yeah, uh listen, have the mannings of it Done anything besides football. They've been pitchmen, they've been salesmen. You got them working with Omaha Productions now. doing television shows and series on Netflix, Yeah.
It's been football first. It's coming out of Louisiana, and it is just. throwing The damn football. And so, why would we think that Arch Manning is going to be any different? If anything, You can take a look at Arch Manning and you could say, oh my God, we actually have.
Anathletic Manning. Archer's been keen on saying, Hey, listen, my dad, Cooper, he's pretty fast. He said my mom was fast. And we know Eli, where was he running?
Nowhere. Where was Peyton Manning running? Um Yeah, absolutely.
Nowhere. And so to have someone who has an arm. but can actually get out there and uh Go on a little bit of a run? Yeah, I'm I'm interested to see what More than anybody this upcoming season, actually. Yeah, we have all these storylines in college football with the coaches.
You know, God bless Deion Sanders. Let everybody know about his bladder cancer yesterday. Obviously, Bill Belichick. First year at North Carolina. I want to pay attention to everything going on with all of the Florida schools, everything from Florida State down to.
to the Gators. But when it comes to players, I'm going to be watching Arch Manning. And I also want to see what Nico Iamaliava ends up doing at UCLA decided the fact that he wanted to leave. A Tennessee and wanted to get the money. Same thing with Carson Beck.
This guy wanted to drive his Lamborghinis down in South Beach. Is he he ain't making it?
So the NFL is no damn starter, but You know, how much is is he gonna hit the the you know what? All the drama in him leaving Georgia and the injury Uh oh no. Hey Chris, I can't believe it. We're now about a month away. From the start of the college football season, is there any player or storylines that you're paying attention to?
JR, I have to be honest, I was producing for Ryan Hickey here on the Infinity Sports Network the other week, and he did a whole segment pretty much on his Penn State Nittany Lions. Good God, English today, but he got me pretty excited about. What they might have going on this year. He. Is pretty confident they're the best team.
And, of course, he thinks so. But I appreciated the perspective. It got me to bite. Yeah, I think when you take a look at Drew Aller and what they did, they might have the best. continuity of any team that That was successful last year.
We know that there are a lot of teams that have certainly been changed. Colorado, I mean, they didn't compete for no national championship, but they changed. Ohio State has certainly changed. A lot of their players have moved on. to the NFL, the world champions there.
And so, yeah, Penn State is certainly a team to pay attention to. It's just a matter of whether or not you have a Drew Aller who's going to. And and everybody no, I can't say everybody grows up. But you do have players that that grow up. What is he going to look like?
After his experience this past season, is he going to be out here throwing interceptions when they need him to move the ball down the field? Or will he have graduated enough where they could trust him? to just march the ball down the field. When they need some victories, I mean, the quarterback is a guy who really makes a difference. Can you go out there and get the job done?
We're going to find out. You know, sooner than later, with the Nitly Nyland, Nit, you got me doing it now. See, Nit Nittany Lions. what they go out there and do. This upcoming season.
People are expecting big things, but We talked about parody. Just all over the place, and no parody in baseball, and sometimes somebody can get on the street. I I think we've graduated from college football. From just having a team that we can look at, there's no more of this. Alabama dominance.
There's even the stretch that that the Georgia Bulldogs went on. There's no more of that. It's just too much too much movement. Too much transfer portal, too much pay me, too much do this. Carson Beck, oh my God, is going to be hilarious.
I don't trust that guy to. You know, get the ball down the field for nothing. I'm expecting him to turn the ball over. I feel like he's just milking. The system.
As he should. A hundred percent. And yes, as he should. Oh, is that it? You had more?
Go ahead. No, I I just I mean, listen, this is the new age.
Now, people like to complain that, hey, you know, these college kids are getting paid so much and this and that. Yeah. Well, I I think this is better for him than throwing interceptions to commanders, third stringers all summer. Oh no, without without a doubt. I'm not disputing the fact.
I'm I'm I'm for anybody making as much money as possible. I'm I'm for that. But I think when you're in his position, I think there's a way to make that money. and actually be smart about it. He's making money.
He's down in Miami. And God bless him. You live your life. You make your money. You do whatever you want with it.
But if the goal is to make it to the NFL, which is and obviously has been the goal for Carson Beck, there were open discussions about whether or not. You know, he was going to move on to the NFL, and obviously the NFL told him, nah, bro, you're not ready.
So he had to go back. to college. And then now, when you're following on the heels of the dude who was selected number one overall in Cam Ward. We know you're not doing. What he just did last year.
He doesn't appear physically capable, he doesn't have the skill set. or the talent to follow in Cam Ward. But I just think it is a it it sets a bad precedent. for himself. I think it's the the worst example to showcase.
When you're leaving Georgia, We all know you're going to get the money, good, great, and fine. But i is it necessary to drive around in the Lamborghini? Is it necessary to have the open relationship with the girlfriend, the twins, whether it's still going on or not? Is it necessary to wear the big giant chain? You know, at the the school or not at the school but at the media day And I get it.
You can do what you want. It's it's your money to make. But I don't think that's the message that you outwardly want to send. When you want to ascend to a different level. Like, is the goal for you to just be a rich College football player.
Like, if that's the goal, I need to be at South Beach. I need to have a, you know, a good-looking girlfriend. I need to have a chain. I need to do this. And to me, As an adult, that's silly.
No Carson Beck All things considered, I'm not going to call him a kid. But he doesn't have life experience enough Where he's not like, oh man, let me look down the line. It just looks silly to me. Like, okay, and everybody has to learn. But if Carson Beck is he going to be driving around in his Lamborghini at 30 or 35, and maybe he is.
Maybe he's investing his money. But I think outwardly. Perception is reality. And if I'm trying to make it into the league. I'm trying to make it into the league.
I'm not trying to drive around in Lamborghinis and wear big chains and just that that's for other people to pay attention to. It's not for the league. We had Shador Sanders, the guy fell into the fifth round of the draft because of other things. And he got a chance and an opportunity. Because Andrew Berry saw some type of talent.
He's like, hey, fifth rounder, yeah, we can take a shot. Perception is reality. And so, whether or not people think that your dad Dion is going to be making noise, or whether you suck, or whether you're not prepared, or you're driving 100 miles per hour. Don't give people a reason. not to employ you.
Don't give people a reason to say, eh maybe not so much. When it comes to Carson Beck, God bless him, everybody in college is making money. I'm happy that he's making money. But don't start giving people reasons to go. You know what?
I don't want this guy here. No throw no's interceptions. That says enough. Enjoy enjoy Miami, I guess, at this point. It's time for Carson back.
God only knows how long that money is going to last. He's making more money now than he will, probably. If If he gets to the league. We can hold the clipboard. We'll find out.
Sooner than later. Don't lose that money, man. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. Speaking of losing money, we're going to take a break. When we come back, Man, we got we got an update.
on Marcus Morris. Apparently, him being locked up for writing a bad $1,200 check. That that doesn't appear to be the entire uh Entire story. We're going to get into that on the other side. Yeah, gambling is crazy.
He owes some casinos some cash. He better find it. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. Man, you want to talk about some nonsense?
I feel like over the past several days, over the past several weeks, of the past several months, past several years. We've had more and more incidents. of professional athletes who've just gotten in trouble when it comes down to to gambling. And not betting on themselves, not you know, putting money down on a On a new contract and entering into this season and turning money down. Not everybody gambles like Aaron Judge.
like he did a few years ago and says, you know what? I'm gonna win MVP. The guy won MVP and got paid.
Now that's a gamble that's that's well worth it. We heard about Emmanuel Clase and his situation. one of the best relievers in the game. is away on leave. He's on paid leave.
He's not suspended. He's currently being investigated for God only knows what. We know his teammate, Luis Ortiz, also being investigated for gambling. Interesting and unusual betting activity surrounding two of his pitches to start games. It's like all of a sudden, the entire world, the entire country is betting on this guy to throw two balls, which he does.
to start particular games. A matter of fact, this is the report that we got from CBS Sports HQ involving Emmanuel Klase. Guardians closer Emmanuel Klase has been placed on non-disciplinary paid leave as part of the league's sports gambling investigation. He's the second Guardians pitcher to be tied to the investigation alongside Luis Ortiz, who was also placed on leave. Klase is a three-time all-star.
Yeah, three time like Like, what are we doing? And so there are no accusations here. Yet But they might be He's on leave for about a month. And casinos might just be bad. Gambling just might be bad for professional athletes.
Period. We learned that Marcus Morris, Former NBA player is Brother Mark Heath. Running around as well. You see, Marcus Morris, I feel like every now and then I see a clip of him. On ESPN.
And today I saw a clip of him sitting in a court a courtroom. The judge is just like, nah, man, you ain't bonding out. The judge is making him sit. In jail. Yeah, nobody bothering that guy in jail.
Please believe that. He's about 6'9 ⁇ , 6'10. You are not. Messing with that man. and so he was arrested in Miami over the weekend.
And it was because he was writing Bad. Checks. His brother even put out a message. His twin brother put out a message. It was just like, oh.
You write a bad check and they just try to you know, arrest you like this like overkill.
Well, apparently the issue was bigger, It was more than a $1,200 a bad check. He looked like he owes a lot of money to a casino. Listen to this report. from South Florida, WPLG ten. Valler busted an NBA veteran Marcus Morris arrested right here in South Florida for fraud.
But his family says the situation has been really overblown. Localton's Rosh Lowe is alive. He's outside the jail in Fort Lauderdale to explain Rosh.
So, the word of the day here when covering this story is, in fact, you just mentioned it. busted. But we're not talking about the busted when you go over 21 in blackjack. We're talking about busted being put in cuffs at an airport. And this NBA player's family says, what is this all about?
It's about $1,200. No jackpot here, Marcus Morris Sr. in the Broward County Jail. Here is his arrest report. The charge is fraud, and it's a case out of Las Vegas.
Morris, a veteran NBA forward, he last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was arrested Sunday at the airport. His brother Marke, also an NBA player, posted on X: The wording is crazy. Damn, for that amount of money, they'll embarrass you in the airport with your family. Uh, apparently. The charges are not related to a $1,200 bad check.
They related to allegations. that he wrote bad checks to two Vegas casinos, totalling more than a quarter million Dollars. These are the allegations. That this man Wrote these checks. Knowing that there was no money in the account.
And his brother They've basically said it's it's all a misunderstanding. You know, he's working to resolve the debt. I mean, well, damn. This guy's been in the league. for years.
And you want to talk about guys You know, that's why. Chris, this is why I say, you know, if you're Carson Beck and you're making $3 million a year, $4 million a year, which, by the way, half of that money. goes to Uncle Sam right out the gate. You don't have to look far for just the trail of professional athletes who've made lots of money. And have just Just blown through it, man.
It's a treacherous path to make. And so, even looking at somebody like Marcus Morris. You know, people are like, Hey, you you'd be able to pay that off real fast Well Not if you've lived check to check, even if the checks are coming in at hundreds of thousands of dollars. That money goes away fast, man. No, absolutely, JR.
And you know, we hear a lot and we read a lot and we see a lot. About these teams, whether it's in the NBA or in a different professional sports league, bringing in. Financial literacy teachers, bringing in former players who maybe did have struggles financially. You know, there's a book by Gary Myers called Once a Giant, where he talks a lot about how some of the members of the 70s Super Bowl teams are, you know, kind of lean on each other financially to this day because they didn't play at a time where all these resources were available to them.
So it is just frustrating with all the resources. We know that these teams, and again, the teams say they're making them available. If we go with that as fact, it's frustrating to see stuff like this happen because no one wants to see someone throw part of their life or their whole life away over something like this. No, not not at all. You know, I just looked up Marcus Morris' career earnings.
He's made more than one hundred let's just call it flat. He's made about a hundred million dollars.
Well, Let's just say he made about fifty million dollars because half of that money goes to the IRS.
So if you've made fifty million dollars over the past, let's just say almost 15 years, and you're living close to the line, That's, I'm not going to say that's not a lot of money. You can blow, I know people. who make lots an' lots of money, And they have to go borrow lots and lots of money. because they're not putting their money away. Like anybody, anybody can live check to check.
I don't care if you're making $30,000 a year, $25,000 a year, $250,000 a year, $25 million a year. Yeah. People think money just lasts. Forever. It doesn't.
And so, look, it's allegations against Marcus Morse. The allegations are strong enough that the judge. didn't want to go out there and release him. The lawyer was just like, oh, well, if we let him out. It'll help him and allow him to go pay off the debt.
The judge is just like, uh, no. Like, damn, I don't know. And then we got Malik Beasley out here. He owes everybody and their mother. Money, what, thirty thousand, twenty-five thousand dollars for haircuts, and he's being investigated for gambling.
So much so he doesn't even have a free agent contract right now.
So We have opened up the floodgates. when it comes to athletes and just Just being able to be associated with gambling and casinos, and they're not supposed to, right? Like if I'm Marcus Morris, the last thing I want to do is owe a casino money. I don't want to be associated with it. Come on now, we got a whole At Atlanta Falcon.
He's not even here any more, Ridley. This guy got suspended. He's now a Titan. The guy got suspended for gambling on his phone. We got Klase, who's on leave for a month as he's investigated.
We're not going to have anything but more and more of these stories. Here, I'll give you a teaser. on this day in sports history. It was this day in 2008. that Tim Donaghy, the NBA referee, was sentenced to fifteen months.
for gambling. This guy was trying to manipulate games. They said he was a compulsive gambler, he had a problem. And he was like a canary. He only air quotes only got fifteen months.
Because he was out there singing. Or you can use some other words. I won't use them on the radio. Use your imagination. You can call it whatever you want.
But he was singing, he was singing a song, he was helping out. Uh the government. And he got only fifteen months. I don't know. I don't know if Marcus Morris, he's from Philly.
I don't know if he's gonna be out there singing, but That looks like he has his own His own problems to worry about right now. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. As all these leagues have now embraced. The money that comes with gambling.
It's just an interesting dichotomy. On one hand, You want the money, you want everything associated with it. But on the other hand, you know that you've opened up Pandora's box. for the athletes, for the referees, for people involved in the game, the players. To kind of get in trouble.
That's just what it is. And this one can actually be damaging. Yeah, we're going to have, I'm waiting on the big name. It wasn't Shohi Otani. I know there are a lot of people out there that were just like, oh, Tiny was out here gambling now.
I highly doubt that. But we goin' get a big fish that's goin' to get caught one day. and it's going to be a major problem. for the world of sports. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
We come back. I think there's an NBA player who wants to own an NBA team in Las Vegas. He currently plays in Los Angeles, but he might be on borrowed time in that regard. I'm going to tell you about. This interesting relationship between LeBron and Luca.
We'll get to that on the other side of the break. And talk some more NFL as these injuries in training camp continue to pile up. We heard about Trey Hendrickson. Looks like he might be a. changing his mind on something, maybe possibly.
You know what? A matter of fact To get an update on everything going on in the world of sports, it's time for a news flash right now. Here he is, Richak. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you, coast to coast. on the infinity Sports.
Network. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N is the number. That's eight, eight, eight. seven ten four I S N You know what? This is a good time before I get into uh This LeBron James and Luka Doncich update.
Luka Doncich is on like a world tour right now. This is a great opportunity to tell you about the Defensive Player of the Week brought to you by the Navy Federal Credit Union, our members. Are the mission? You know, we've done a lot of talking about baseball today, especially with the trade deadline a couple of days. away, but we got a story that broke yesterday.
about how Bryce Harper basically confronted Commissioner Rob Manfred. in the Phillies locker room. As Rob Manfred was doing his rounds to all the teams, and apparently the CBA came up and. And Bryce Harper told him: if you're going to talk about a salary cap, get the bleep out of our locker room. But the defensive player of the week, Is Nick Castillanos.
This man apparently asked a question that broke the ice in the locker room. And I'd apparently, I'm not going to say save Rob Manfred from getting punched in the face. But he asked a question that broke the ice. And so, yeah, he's the defensive. A player of the week.
Brought to you by the Navy Federal Credit Union, our members of the mission. Ultimately, Uh apparently Bryce Harper. And Rob Manfred, they shook hands, they got over it. But we know there's there's gonna be beef. Rob Man Fred does not come across as a uh A likable individual?
And I expect many times between now and the conclusion of the current collective bargaining agreement. I'm expecting him to put his foot in the mouth, in his mouth. I'm expecting him to tick off the players. I'm expecting to be a jerk. This is the guy who called the World Series trophy the Commission's Trophy.
You know, just just a piece of junk, just a piece of metal. Who cares about the trophy? That came from the commissioner of the damn sport, so Uh w what can you expect? Anyway, speaking of things that you can expect, Luka Dasich has lost weight. He's telling health magazines, uh about his diet.
We heard from J.J. Reddick at the end of the season about how Well, not he, but the Lakers need to get in championship shape. And Lukadach is certainly in shape. He's getting ready for the Euros to start. He's doing this Jordan tour.
He got this one-on-one tournament. He's Bouncing all over the country. Yesterday, he's taking photos in Yankees Stadium with Aaron Judge and Jash Chisholm. He he even stepped up into the the the New York Yankees broadcast booth with Michael Kay on the Yes network. And he talked about his fitness.
He says, oh, yeah, me and LeBron, he's my idol. I love working with LeBron. And And then he was even asked about the Mavericks. You know the team that traded him, that dumbass team? pretty much uh you know learning about his new found a fitness regiment, And he says, Ah, I'm sure they know about it.
Listen to this. After that deal was made, the Mavericks got a lot of criticism regarding it. And then they start to leak out stuff while we don't know if he's ever going to be in shape. You should nail him out of the men's health now, is it? They probably saw it, so I don't have to worry about that.
I don't have to worry. They probably saw. I don't have to worry about that. Yeah. I'm pretty sure if you're Nico, you're probably looking at Cooper flag and trying to ignore everything possible.
are related To Luka Doncic. And then, like I said, he was asked about LeBron James last night. There was zero mention. Of LeBron James in that men's health article. Like Luca brought up Kobe Bryant.
Luca brought up Michael Jordan. He did not bring up LeBron James. Michael Kay asked him about LeBron last night. And he had an answer. You can't ignore him.
You can't just go, I don't like LeBron anymore. You know, both he and Lebron have been open in the past about You know, enjoying playing with each other. And we know the baton is is being passed along. But LeBron James, at one point, looked like he was going to retire a Los Angeles Laker. That doesn't appear to be the case any more.
LeBron James is playing the cards that he's been dealt. His agent Rich Paul put out a message after he signed his extension that LeBron is still looking to compete for a title. LeBron is hanging out on a boat with Nikola Jokic's agent, who's putting out messages about the future. And so yeah, LeBron James is going to start the season. with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Is he going to finish the season with the Lakers? That's to be seen. It doesn't look like he's going to finish his career. with the Los Angeles Lakers. And so even at at this stage of his career, Well, LeBron James is going to be 41 years old at the end of December.
We're still staring out of space. Where LeBron goes and what he does next. It's still a story. Oh, you thought the decision in Miami was big? And Going back to Cleveland with a statement was big and Leaving for the Lakers was big.
There's only gonna be one more stop. I'll put it to you this way. Watching Lebrun in Denver would be great. The retirement tour with the Lakers, I can't believe that they're ready to pass up on that. LeBron is not gonna finish his career just on some bum ass team.
I'd love to see him with Jokic. Chris, where would you like to see LeBron if he finished things up? I think there is An infinite amount of tantalizing storylines if he were to go to Dallas, reunite with Anthony Davis, with Kyrie Irving. I don't know what even the money would look like. I would think PJ, Clay, Gafford, some amalgamation of those salaries would make it work.
I feel like storyline-wise, exclusively. Dallas seems really good. The problem with that, though, is Kyrie Irving's about to miss an entire year, and LeBron James does not seem like someone of the age. To give a year up, uh, just let it go to the wind.
So maybe a different spot. I I'm gonna advocate for the Steph team up. It would be so representative of this era if they ended up teaming up to end their careers. Magic and Bird would have never done it, but Those guys, I could see it. Do we need?
So, I don't think the Mavericks would give up assets. When you got somebody really has to be going for it and feel comfortable enough to bring LeBron on, to give up some assets and say, Yeah, we'll bring him on. You know, if I'm the Mavericks, I'm like, man, I'm just going to wait until the summertime. And, you know, it's like, what am I doing here? And you mentioned it.
You got a young Cooper flag, Anthony Davis. How the hell am I going to believe in him? To be healthy. Kyrie is hurt. And then, man, We got another old team.
We already got an old team. In in Golden State. We already got another old team in in in the Clippers as well, but We saw what LeBron James did with Steph Curry in the Olympics. And yes, I mean, why not? It'd be fun to watch.
It's going to be very interesting to see where LeBron James ends up. But speaking of old guys, Forty year old Chris Paul. He had his press conference with the Clippers yesterday. And it was just Pretty hilarious. He said that he understands that people are looking at the age of the team.
The average age is 33 years old. He's like, Yeah, I see the memes. People are calling us the unction. Like, we're just a bunch of unks. Just a bunch of old dudes playing basketball between him and Kawhi and.
Batum and Lopez, it's an old group. James Hardin. Chris Paul. This is called by ESPN. He was asked about whether or not he'd be even playing at this stage of his career.
The only way that I can sort of remember it is by seeing the people around me. And I think that's what gets me emotional at times is I was just at home in North Carolina and I got a chance to see my uncles and my aunts. My grandparents, they watch every game, every night. And I still remember when I came to the Clippers games would be at seven. I think they're at seven thirty now.
That's a ten thirty start for my granny. But she she's gonna be up watching every game, texting and calling me after every game. And um That's why you do this is because of the support.
Now, that's a good feeling to have. God bless his granny. He played all 82 games last year and played almost 28 minutes a game. For the San Antonio Spurs. I don't think he's going to be needed for that in Los Angeles.
But the way that that team goes, you expect somebody to go down. And damn it, it might be him. He played all 82 last year, but he has had a history here and there of breaking a hand, trying to swipe away a pass. Uh at this point in time, he's just happy to be back in Los Angeles with his family. Chris Paul says, Man, being back here, I needed to get the job done.
This is what he said at the press conference. If I'm really honest, I wanted to get back and play here by any means necessary, right? I didn't even care what the team looked like. I just want to be home, be here with the Clippers. And to tell you, man, I'm just so excited about the moves that the team has made this offseason.
Right? And Brad coming to the team, Brooke Lopez, all the young guys. I talked to James, I talked to Kawhi, you know, and Um I'm even more excited about what I think we have a chance to do. Yeah, and he thinks they have a chance to go out there and and win a championship. He's forty.
Brooke Lopez is thirty seven. Batum is thirty six. Hardness thirty five. Kawai is thirty four with the body of a fifty five year old. Bradley Beal is 32.
Bogdanovich, thirty two. Chris Dunn, a young man, thirty one. And you got Zubach 28. years old. Yeah, that's That's that's old.
It's basketball old. Percian, and what was the average age of the thunder last year? 23? 24? I want to say it was 25.
I think it was like 25 and a half, but that's still very young. It was the second youngest championship team in league history. Yeah, it's it's quite a ways off from the the thirty three years old. of the Los Angeles Clippers. It sounds nice, but Just based on everybody's history, James Harden might be the only guy that you can count on.
Throughout the course of the season, he ain't getting any younger. Brooke Lopez, I believe he also played almost every game. of last season. He's thirty-seven. And it shows you also what a world we live in.
Brooke Lopez had the. He had the choice and the chance. to go to the Lakers and he said, uh no. The uncertainties surrounding LeBron James. Made Brooke Lopez say, I'm not going to the Lakers, I'm going to go to this old-ass Clippers team.
and contribute there. Let's see what these old ass uncles decide to do. Yeah. Maybe they can make it through the regular season and be healthy enough. for the postseason.
We'll see. The unction, okay? I hope that doesn't turn into a thing. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number.
