Luka Doncic continues on his world tour. Last night, the Bronx in Yankee Stadium. Tonight, He's at a street ball. Jordan brand event. It Dykeman, that's a big basketball court in the street.
In Washington Heights, New York. Luka Doncich is doing his rounds. How about that? You lose some weight. That's what happens.
You lose weight. People want to show off.
Okay? He's not playing, though. It's so much to get into. Thank you so much to Levi Weaver for joining us from the athletic. Levi Weaver covers all things Major League Baseball.
We're two days away from the trade deadline. We talked about Arch Manning and Is Jimmy Haslam making some comments from the Browns? He's like, I don't know Arch Manning. You think we, the Browns, are trying to tank to get him? We got other issues, okay?
So much to discuss. Of course, at the end of the show. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. We talked about some of these gambling issues going on in the world of sports. And Charles Barkley still mad about TNT moving the ESPN and There's a lot going on.

For ISN. If you got the internet, you probably do, maybe you do. You can find me on line. I am at JR Sport Brief. Wow.
You know, before we went to break, we talked about all these old guys. playing in Los Angeles. LeBron James, for now. Chris Paul making his return to LA. We got a guy who's returning to work.
Trey Hendrickson, I guess he's sick and tired of getting fined $50,000 a day. He's going to make his return to the Cincinnati Bengals. Tomorrow I guess that $50,000 has just been adding up a little too much for Trey Hendrickson. Apparently, though, there's no new contract. He's not going to practice.
Trey Hendrickson is going to show up and not get fined. But then also make things a little uncomfortable. He's going to try to show up. And get his contract. He's going to try to show up and get his deal.
He's going to try to show up and be that guy in the room that people go. Oh, he's here, but he's not practising. Oh, he's here, but he's not getting fined. Oh, he's here, maybe he can utilize this as leverage. to get a new deal.
He had seventeen and a half sacks. both last season and the season prior. He has about half the damn sacks for the whole damn Cincinnati Bengals. Sam Hubbard is now gone. Shamar Stewart is a rookie.
I know he held out. He is in work now. They gave him a a nice bonus to show up to work. You you can't afford the let. Trey Hendrickson leave.
So can't wait to see what he says tomorrow when he finally shows up to work. But unfortunately, we had a bunch of guys who showed up to work today. And damn, you just. Can there be any more injuries? today.
Kinda nuts. Justin Jefferson is dealing with a hamstring issue. Sucks. It's terrible. Dallas Cowboys, every single day there seems to be a new issue with the Cowboys.
Now we got Kaitlin Carson. Cornerback with which they've been thin. We know Trayvon Diggs still recovering from his knee injury from last year. And now you got Carson going down. Listen to this report from Chad Sports.
Cowboys injury news for you guys. Kalen Carson for ESPN's Todd Archer suffered a hyperextended knee. That's going to take him out for four to six weeks. That's a big factor in why the team picked up Christian Matthew earlier this morning. They simply need bodies to help get through training camp.
It's an unfortunate injury for Carson as the summer of injuries for the Cowboys continues. And it sucks. He's not the only guy. We got Christian Gonzalez, Was dealing with a hamstring issue as well. At least he was able to walk around and sign autographs after the game or after practice.
This is the report from CBS Boston. Star cornerback Christian Gonzalez did not take the practice field behind Gillette Stadium today, but he does appear to have avoided a serious injury after leaving Monday's practice. According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, Gonzalez suffered a hamstring injury that will sidelight him for some of training camp.
Now, Schultz reports that the injury is not expected to impact Gonzalez's status for week one of the NFL season. Today, the star corner showed up near the end of practice with the sleeve of his left leg as he signed autographs. Oh, that's nice nice touch at the end. Can't play, can't walk, but I'll sign.
Well, like he can walk. I can't run, but I can sign some autographs. That's it. Our producer helping to hold things down tonight, Chris Percianan. Hey, Christy, have you ever had a hamstring issue?
Not yet. I don't well, why are you saying yet? You you want one? No, I I'm just a moron, JR, and and I think I'm due at some point.
Okay, what? What are you going to do? How do you plan?
So you have this all planned out because you're a moron. How do you assume that you're going to suffer a hamstring issue? See, this is where you got me all wrong, JR. What I'm doing is expecting the unexpected so that it's expected. It could be turning a corner on my way to heat up some pizza.
It could be on my way to get a beer at a baseball game. I don't know, but I know it's coming because these things happen to me. This is just how it is. I was playing pickup basketball with my friend's little brother. He was like nine years old.
I was like eighteen. He crossed me up. I broke my ankle. Literally. Like this is this is what happens to me, JR.
Okay.
So you're like a a normal everyday Anthony Davis, but in normal life. Data Davis, you know, I can't think of something that maybe. I got nothing. I got no clever pun, JR, because I'm just the crash dummy out here. Chris, the crash dummy.
There you go. we don't need clever puns. Uh typically it to have a hamstring issue. You have to have some type of explosive movement. You're not just going to pull a hamstring just walking down the street, are you?
I hope not. I hope not. But you never know. Again, I could see. Maybe Krispy Kreme.
Someone out there is doing free donuts. They say we got four left. I say, oh, I got to get over there. I bang a corner, and boom, pop, there it is.
Okay.
All right.
Well At least uh we know that Christian Gonzalez is a Well, a well conditioned athlete And so let's let's also be real. You want these guys gearing up. for the competition. And even by the time we get to week one of the NFL season, I feel like we've reached the point now. We got 17 games.
I still missed 16, and we didn't need 17. I know they're going to get to 18 eventually. We don't need all this this this extra football. And I feel like a good portion of the early season by the NFL. These teams are just warming up at this point in time anyway.
And so if you can just make it through the month of August and and get there and kinda No, gear up at the beginning of the season, not exactly what you want. But the football to start the year isn't necessarily the best. And so it's not just hamstrings. that have knocked guys out today. A Martin Emerson who plays cornerback for the Cleveland Browns.
They believe that he tore his Achilles to day. And then if we go up to Buffalo, This man hasn't even played a snap yet. In the NFL. He's a rookie, Maxwell Hearston. They got him out of Kentucky.
This is another cornerback. He went down with a non-contact knee injury. And I don't know. Maybe there's something in the waters of the NFL. I don't know if the heat is getting to these dudes.
And I I know we talk a lot about These injuries in the the NBA. all the dudes who've gone down with Achilles stairs and Halliburton and Lillard, People are looking around going, Wha w why now? Tatum, why why now for all these dudes to get hurt? I hope we're not seeing the same thing in the NFL. It's one thing to look at basketball players and say, hey, maybe you shouldn't be playing all this damn basketball, all these damn games when you're nine years old and ten years old and fifteen years old.
It kind of catches up to you. Uh but today I just hope. was a bad day. In the NFL. I'm hoping that we don't get more serious injuries, but we know when it comes to football, Injuries are exactly what we are going to have.
I told you about. of Martin Emerson junior going down. The owner of the Cleveland Browns spoke today. I don't think he did himself any favors. Jimmy Haslam.
The man who wanted to sign and trade for Deshaun Watson. The man who wanted to give him a fully guaranteed contract. Even though he had 24, 25, 26, 27 around allegations of sexual assault. Jimmy Haslam stops there. That's the line for him.
when it comes down to defending, Quarterbacks were bringing him in. because in hilarious fashion Jimmy Haslam today. didn't want to say a damn thing. about Shadur Sanders. Jimmy Haslam actually said that Shador He wasn't my guy.
He wasn't my pick. I didn't think that we were even going to select him. That's on the GM, Andrew Berry. Listen to this. We have good process, okay?
Um If you'd have told me See, we picked him on Saturday, right? Friday night driving home, y'all are going to pick Shadur. I would say that that's not happening, but. We had a conversation early that morning, and then we had a conversation later that day. I think we had the right people involved in the conversation.
At the end of the day, that's Andrew Berry's call. Andrew made the call to pick Shadur. Just like who's going to start or what play we're going to call is Kevin's call. But that's Andrew's call. He made the call.
Okay.
All right.
I mean, that's the type of. You can't say that with Deshaun Watson, right? You can't say that.
So you mean to tell me that you let your GM trade for this guy that has all these allegations of sexual assault and you didn't care. No, no, yeah, it's a GM. I didn't do it. Can't get away with that one. I like how he is uh He's selective.
He's very selective here on what he wants to take accountability for and what he doesn't want to. And isn't that how a lot of places work? And I know we got a lot of people listening. You got a boss, you got a co-worker, you got someone that you're accountable for, accountable to. Ain't it like that all the damn time?
The boss shows up. To take credit. When things work, And when things don't work, They point at you. I ain't have nothing to do with it. That had nothing to do with me.
But if it's a success, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was the orchestrator. Even got Jimmy Hasm out here who's a whole-ass billionaire. And he's hanging his general manager out to dry. Oh yeah, if Shador Sanders doesn't work You know, I didn't have nothing to do with it.
That's the GM. I can fire his ass based on this. But if Shador Sanders ends up being a future franchise quarterback for the Browns, I don't know if I'm counting on that. You want to tell me that at some point Jimmy Haslam won't pat himself on the back? It's what rich people do.
That's what billionaires do. He's going to tell everybody what a great job that he did. and making this happen. What a world What a world. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N.
That's eight eight eight seven ten. Damn. Got the baseball trade deadline coming up. Eugenio Suarez, we talked about him. Got hit in the hand with a fastball yesterday, but thank God he's okay.
He's likely to still be traded. There's a lot going on, even though we Only have baseball. You don't even know what some of these baseball teams are going to look like. in two days from now. We got NFL teams.
We don't know what these NFL squads are going to look like. We got all these damn guys out here dropping like flies. Like change is inevitable, whether you're getting traded or whether you're getting hurt playing sports, it's just The nature Of the Beasts. We know Trey Hendrickson is showing back up to work. And it's just a wild world when you just You don't have that certainty.
You know, Trey Hendrickson wants to get paid. The Bengals will do so. Just a matter. Of how much. We got a whole lot more to do here with this show.
Of course, at the end, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. And when we come back, you know, speaking of of uncertainty, Trey Hendrickson, we don't know when he's getting a deal. Terry McLaurin, we don't know when he's getting a contract. We have no idea who's getting traded in baseball between now and Thursday. But one trade that we know.
That did take place. was between two media entities. Turn to Sports, Warner. They've dropped basketball. and they decided to to license out their show, Inside the NBA with Charles Barclay to ESPN.
Well Charles Barclay has questions? It doesn't have a lot of answers. and is still upset about the entire move. We're going to hear what Charles Barkley had to say. And then Turner, man, they don't got basketball anymore.
But it's like they're picking up every sport imaginable. That's not basketball. They've even turned to a different form of baseball. I'll explain on the other side. We have so much more to do.
You're locked in. You're listening. It's the JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN.
You know, we talked about Trey Hendrickson. Apparently he's deciding to show up to work tomorrow. No new contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, no new deal. I guess he's still trying to force them into a deal by making things uncomfortable. I assume he's also sick of getting tired or sick and tired of getting fined $50,000 every day for not being at work.
And so that's the situation he's trying to work out. We know the the trade deadline for Major League Baseball is two days away. But one trade that we do know that went down was earlier this year. We learned officially TNT's relationship, Warner. WBD, they've gone through so many different names.
But basically, TNT's relationship with the NBA is done. After 30 is six is seasons. Everybody and their mother is now picking up NBA games. The NBA on NBC will be back. That'll be awesome to see, especially with the theme song around around ball rock.
We know Amazon is picking up some of these games. ESPN. We'll still have games. And so as a result, there was always a concern, well, what happens to inside the NBA.
Well TNT will still produce it. But they're licensing the show out to ESPN. And so it's still going to be right down the block from me here in Atlanta, Georgia. With Charles Barclay and Ennie, Ernie, and Kenny, and shack, all of it's still gonna go down. It's just going to be on ESPN.
And we don't know if they're going to let them, you know, kind of rip and run after the games. We don't know if we're going to have the halftime. ESPN's halftime is notoriously just. Kind of slapped together with commercials and quick hits from the studio. We have no idea.
But Charles Barclay is still not happy. With what took place? He's not happy with the deal. He's not happy with the communication. And when it came down to to what's going on with the show, He said that they didn't even find out beforehand.
They found out on the internet. And for g as matter of fact, listen to what he told. The guys from Barstool. Listen to this. Man, we're going to lose our job in six months.
And then, as it gets closer, you can see the concern. And I thought TNT, our bosses, did a job. They did an awful job of keeping us abreast. I'll give you an example. We were playing golf during the playoffs and we were reading the internet, finding out if we were going to get fired or not.
And I was like, TNT, our bosses, they sucked, plain and simple. They're like, yeah, man. Just tell us. Yeah, let us know. Shoot us straight.
Shoot us straight. These are real people. We literally were playing golf during the playoffs, looking at the internet. Then one story said we lost it. The next story said we're still in negotiations.
Then we lost it. We're still in negotiations. And TNT never came to us like grown folks and said, hey, guys, we're probably going to lose the NBA, which we could have understood. I think anybody can be.
Okay, with that if you receive communication. It's not like he's not getting paid a crap ton of money, though. Charles Barkley has said many times over the years this will be his last year, but he's leaving, but he's coming back. And so you never know. Maybe he does one year at ESPN and he goes, you know what?
I don't like this experience. I'm leavin'. I don't like how they've adjusted the show. Uh but I'm out. I am hoping And you never know with things like this.
That the format and the timing stays the same. Like Charles Barclay expressed that concern. You know, are they going to let us? Are they going to give us the rope? Are they going to give us the runway to go ahead and You know, just talk, and that's what made the show great.
If all we can do is just kind of plug and play what we got on TNT on the ESPN, that'd be awesome. That that may not be the approach. ESPN has has certainly changed over the years. Man, we have Pat McAfee. That show's being licensed out.
The production is certainly different there. If we can get the same thing on ESPN, That we got on CNC? It's gold. Anything else? It's gonna suck.
To be honest, I don't know how many more years that Charles Barkley is going to do this. He's been bluffing for years that he's going to step away. But I I I think this this ultimately Uh might be it. Chris, you you give Barkley more than two years doing this? I think this might be a little bit like What's happening in the college sports landscape where some of these lifer coaches are.
They weren't planning to retire at whatever age, but the new landscape, things being different than what they're used to. Oh, all right.
Well, you know, my grandkids aren't that bad. I'll hang it up early. I think we might see Chuck begin to deal with some new suits, some new executives. We've all seen the famous, infamous clip of Chuck and Shaq joking that they work Stephen A like a dog and don't pay him and all sorts of things.
So maybe he decides to switch up his plans. Yeah, I don't know about switching up his plans.
So he's currently in a 10-year contract that he signed just a couple years ago in 2022. 22. And he doesn't work. For ESPN. Like he still works for Turner.
Turner is still paying him. And ESPN is licensing out the show. And so, yeah, they can make the jokes, and typically it's done in goodwill. You know, if ESPN wants to call and say, hey, you know, would you mind? We wanna promote the show.
Can you do this? You know, typically most people would have no choice but to show up and and promote. Most people aren't Charles Barkley. The guy doesn't need the money. He doesn't need to answer to a boss or answer to anybody.
And if he doesn't want to do this, he can decide: you know what? I'm just going to leave this money on the table. and walk away. Who walks away from $200 million? I'm not so sure.
He stole in the m the middle and midst of this deal. Uh but I can imagine if it's it's not fun, there's nothing worse. been doing something. Especially in the the the realm of sports. That's not Fun.
And if hanging out at 1 o'clock in the morning talking about basketball and making jokes. isn't fun because ESBN is cutting the time. Or maybe ESPN has recommendations on what they should discuss and what they should talk about, how much time they should get. If it's not fun. And yet Charles Barclay, And you're sitting here, And you're going, Man, I I he doesn't talk about it.
Charles Brockley got a whole wife, okay? Charles Barclay has a daughter. Charles Barkley has a grandchild. Charles Barkley is on the other age of 60. Charles Barkley has said that, listen, man, I'm not trying to sit here and die in this chair.
I wouldn't be surprised if Charles Berkeley said, you know what, I'm not doing this. and he may give it a year or two. And if it is exactly the same and if he's happy, Then so be it. We'll see more of him. He is iconic when it comes to.
To television. I can't even just say sports TV. He's one of the biggest personalities we've had on television. I'd say in the history of T V. And good on Charles Barkley, whenever he's done.
Inside the NBA is done. And he's discussed this. There's nobody. Taking his place. There's no passing the batons or Anybody.
When Charles Barclay says I'm finished Inside the NBA is done. The fact is, nothing lasts forever, nothing. Things come and things go. Charles Barkley, this show together, they've had, and who cared about this show before he got there? No disrespect to Kenny Smith.
I love Kenny, that's my guy. Uh Before when was it just Kenny, nobody cared? Hi, Kenny. Don't yell at me later. It's just the reality of it.
And even Shaq at this point in time, he's nothing but a luxury. He's a foil for Charles Barclay. Shaquille O'Neal, even if Shaq was still sitting up there, it's not. Charles BARCLY And so Turner has bought everything. They got the rights to football games that they've exchanged with.
E S B N They got the French open, which they just showed. Got NASCAR races. Every now and then I'm like, oh my God, there's a baseball game. It's just. It's a lot.
It's just a lot that they picked up. Not to have basketball. How about this? They've even picked up The Savannah Bananas Hit them wacky ass shoutouts to Savannah, Georgia. They've picked up the wacky ass bas well, not basketball, baseball.
They're like the Harlem Globetrotters. For baseball. TNT Sports is going to have eight weeks of banana. Bo coverage. Nineteenth Savannah Banana Games on TNT and HBO Max.
So we can't have basketball because that costs too much money, too many billions of dollars. But we can have uh the Savannah bananas. Won't see Ansy. This is crazy. And you're not familiar with the Savannah bananas?
Damn it, they've been documented everywhere. Like Good Morning America. They got Michael Strahan asking them about what makes Banana Ball different. Listen to this. Well, every night we want to do things people have never seen before on a baseball field.
So these guys are unbelievably talented, performers, entertainers, and we spend every week on new ideas.
So we get inspiration from everywhere. You know, watching social media, from Cirque of the Soleil, WWE, you name it. We're trying to get the craziest ideas and put them on the field and see what we can do. Damn it. It's a shame.
I haven't been to a. Savannah Bananas game yet. I don't I don't know if I want to. I know they're filling up these stadiums and arenas. They're making money hand over fist.
Now they have distribution agreements. Percyana. Have you seen them in person yet? I haven't seen them on T V. I I get them against my will on TikTok.
Yeah, they're big on TikTok. Marco Belletti, have you seen the Savannah Bananas yet? I mean, clips here and there. I haven't actually watched the full game. Would you go to a game?
I would go to a game. Yes, I don't think I would 100%. I don't think I'd sit through it on TV. To me, that's something where you gotta be there. Actually, watch it.
I can't imagine carving out two hours or however long it takes and watching that on TV. Like, if you're not there, what are you watching? Listen, man, My kid ain't sitting through no Savannah bananas in person, okay? You're not sitting through that. I don't wanna sit through that.
It's too much. I know they try to make it entertainment. Listen to me, I've never been. I have heard and watched so much coverage. about the Savannah bananas.
Are they peaking? Like, what else is there for them to do besides going on? I can't even say world tour, that is certainly feasible. Where do they go from here?
Now they got a TV distribution agreement. What else is there for them to do? I feel like, like I said, that's the step too far. It's the same thing with the Globetries. You ever see it in person?
It's great. It's awesome. If you go to like a minor league baseball game, it's totally different. I'm not saying that it's going to have like the theatrics, but the idea of having the little kids, and if you leave early, who cares? That's kind of the point.
That's why you're taking them there and not going to the big ballpark. Because if you leave in the fourth because your kid had a fit, you don't care because it didn't cost you your rent.
So the bananas, that's a great experience. But again, like. Am I sitting there? Because you don't care about the outcome.
So you're sitting on your couch watching this for laughs? Maybe not. Maybe, maybe. The guy does a backflip while he catches the ball in center field. And that's awesome when you're there.
And when you flip it through the channels, I feel like you can find something else to watch. Did you see the guy face plant last week, the Savannah Banana, on TV? The better part of that. I not only saw that, did you hear whoever that was with the preordained, scripted. He didn't stop that, whatever the anchor was, he had a script.
About how cool it was going to be. Yes. The guy face plants and he never went off script. Yeah, what is he supposed to go? Oh my God, what a loser this guy is.
You gotta sell the bananas, man. Come on. No, no, no, no, no. I wish I had it right in front of me. I'd play it for you, JR.
When a guy face plants, you gotta have some sort of acknowledgement. That he face planted. Nothing. It was what you just saw is going to be what you're going to watch on the. No, I'm not.
Because I hope people are not going to faceplant every time I go to a bananas game. Yeah, what a way to sell it, right? It's like uh I don't know who it was. The shocker. Do you remember that in wrestling?
They debuted a new wrestler? Is that the guy that went through the wall and kind of tripped? Yeah. Yeah. Yes, earthquake and a stormtrooper.
No, no, no, it wasn't earthquake, it was typhoon. A typhoon, I'm sorry. That's where The natural disaster. That's dude. It was just tagged.
It was tugboat. Tugboat and Typhoon. I have the sound of the guy face planting. What, huh? Out of the sound of the guy's face.
We don't want to hear the sound. We got to hear the sound in the anchor. You got the anchor on the other end of it? Yeah, it's the CNN. Oh, Jesus.
That never happens. That, that, what you just saw there, is a brand new twist on America's favorite pastime. Why does he need to acknowledge? We all know the guy just bust his ass. It was acknowledged.
I'm sorry, JR. I think you got to do a little bit more. Not exactly that. Maybe he doesn't fall on his face, but what we're going to have is this. You don't want to ruin the sales job.
That's what you don't want to do, right? Man. You're gonna pretend something doesn't happen? No, you're not selling it. We saw it happen.
Look, we're on. Yeah, that wasn't a part of it, but we saw it happen. Guy's face exploded. Did you see the video with him trying to explain it afterwards? Yes, I did.
He looked like he had lip enhancement. Yeah, well Listen, and them floors. Oh my God. Them studio floors? Yeah.
Oh my God. Oh. Oh my God. That's the last thing that you want to fall on. Oh, I don't want to imagine.
Slippery too. What do they make them floors out? Those are the hardest floors on planet Earth. Yeah, it's like a half a step down from the concrete. Yeah.
Oh. It's almost like back in the day with the old artificial turf. When people used to explain, like, what is this? Like, the old one? Yeah.
It was concrete with the toothbrush bristles all over it. That's what that was. That was concrete. It was concrete, man. Jeez.
Well, damn it, I don't know what these NFL players are playing on today because they must have all been playing on concrete with toothbrush bristles today because everybody and their mother. a got hurt. Hey, listen, when we come back. On the other side of the break, we're going to talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. But we certainly had a lot of injuries today in the world of sports.
To get an update on that, this, here, and everything in between, it's time for a news flash. You just heard his voice. It's Marco Belletti. Yeah, we all love tingles. Haven't had a good tingle up my spine in a long time.
Matter of fact, I can't remember. I can't remember the last time something gave me a tingle. But I'm glad sports history gives you a tingle. I'm very thrilled about that. It is July 29th.
The year is 2025. We talked about a lot of the injuries that took place today. And Spitz like, damn, now we got Joe Mixon with a foot. It's like. Is everybody getting hurt today?
What's the deal? These dudes just started in pads and Oh, dropping like flies. Damn Anyway, that's today. It's the end of the show. It's time for us to take a look.
at a few things that took place this day in sports history. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network, July 25th, 2025. But if we go back in time, how about this? To right here in Atlanta, Georgia. 1996.
Home of the Olympics. Michael Johnson, This man broke a record. at the four hundred meter. 0.49 seconds. You might remember him running around in them gold shoes.
I know he's missing some money on his new venture right now to try to advance track and field. But on this day, Oh, it was a good day right down the road for me here in Atlanta. Listen to this, USA. Live balls fly. Otto Bolden away well.
So is Frank Fredericks. And here comes Michael Johnson. They're approaching the top of the straightaway. Bill Johnson reaching deep. He has the lead.
Grabbed his delay. But Michael Johnson has getting on the finish. Michael Johnson running forward and into Olympic history. A new world of victory. Set a world record.
It destroys his old record. Yeah, a lot of records are broken. How about that saying he I can't forget them gold shoes, man? He wore the hell out of them gold shoes. This day the same day track and field Carl Lewis said, What?
I get to win a ninth gold medal with the long jump. He tied swimmer Mark Spitz. Picking up that ninth gold at the time. Listen to this man's accomplishments because Carl Lewis, well. Let's just say he was an Olympic veteran even at this point.
This is courtesy NBC. Five Olympic teams, four Olympic games, nine golds, one silver. He ties Pablo Nermi, the great finish distance runner, with nine Gold medals. Yeah, you think about Carl Lewis? Damn, bro.
This man was out there. He was long enough to be. in the Olympics twice in America. He won gold in Los Angeles. He won gold in Seoul.
He won gold in Barcelona. This man won gold again in the long jump in Atlanta. Damn, bro. Shout out to Carl Lewis. Oh wait yeah yeah yeah yeah.
Did a lot of coaching for a while there. He's a good interview. I haven't talked to him in a long time. Anyway, July 29th.
Well this is not good. I talked to you about gambling. This is not good. 2008, I mentioned this: Tim Donahy. sentenced to fifteen months in prison.
For gambling, this is courtesy of the Associated Press. One year and three months behind bars for disgraced NBA referee Tim Donaghy. He could have been sentenced to much more prison time under federal guidelines, but the judge gave Donaghy credit for his extensive cooperation with investigators. His lawyer was pleased. We're thrilled with the outcome today.
Donaghy pled guilty last year to taking payoffs from a professional gambler for providing recommendations on how to bet on games using his inside knowledge of players and teams. He also admitted to betting on games where he officiated as referee. A counselor hired by the defense said Donaghy is a pathological gambler. You don't say. But this is the twist.
You don't say. If that's not a precursor of things to come, this was in 2008. I'm not saying we're gonna have some referee popping up and manipulating games. It is a possibility. I'm not saying it's gonna happen.
Somewhere down the line, it will. We're more likely to get a player. There's going to be a player involved sooner than later. You can go ahead and bank on that. And July 29th, 2021.
Yes, it's Olympic time, people. Of course Olympic time. It's Sunni Lee. No, she doesn't date OG. Ananobi, that she said, no, we're just friends.

Paul, Minnesota. Who joins that exclusive list of champions? Yes, courtesy of NBC Sports. And of course Sunny Lee. A big deal.
A big deal. Well, we know Simone Baus. He ended up dropping out of that. That Olympics, 'cause she had the twisties, uh giving Soony Lee an opportunity to keep things rolling. And then even after the fact Sunny Lee, God bless her.
And she said that, yeah, she won the all-around, but she was happy because at that point she thought about quitting. Yeah, the past two years have been absolutely crazy with COVID and just my family and everything else. This medal definitely means a lot to me because there was a point in time where I wanted to quit and I just didn't think I would ever get here, including injuries and stuff.
So there are definitely a lot of emotions, but I'm super proud of myself for sticking with it and believing in myself because this medal would not be possible without my coaches, the medical team, my parents, and It's just a so surreal and I haven't even let it sink in yet. Yeah, there's a positive message for everybody. and positivity. And don't quit, don't give up. Even when you think that you're you never know what's on the other end.
It's like that photo of that guy digging for that gem, and he's so close, and one guy gets it. And the other guy doesn't get anything 'cause he was also close, but he he quit. And there you have it, folks. There's a a bunch of things that took place. This day and supports history.
Yeah, we have. Oh, yeah. The music came back at the opportune time. Hey. Speaking of this day in history, I hope that.
