Uh to talk about what's going on with the Bengals and Trey Hendrickson and Shamar Stewart. James Rapien is going to be here with us next hour from Sports Illustrated. Covers all things Bengals. We're going to continue on with the show, getting into so much. Tyrese Halliburton talks about his recovery.

The forty niners say Jawan Jennings hasn't asked for a trade. The WNBA, the ratings for the All-Star game with no Caitlin Clark, guess what? They dropped. to the shock of absolutely Nobody. Tyreek Hill says he needs to do better as a leader.

Okay, do it. Don't talk about it. Just actually go out there and do it. And Carson Beck, he says that he was. He was wanted back here at Georgia.

Okay. All right. Thought you just followed the money to Florida.

So we got a lot to get into. You can always listen to this show on the free Odyssey app, A-U-D-A-C-Y, Odyssey. Thank you to everybody listening on their local Infinity Sports Network affiliates. If you got serious XM, It's channel 375. And if you have a smart speaker, be smart.

Eight eight eight seven ten four ISN is the number. That's 888-710-100. And Phone lines work. Internet works. And we are now off To the racists, and I mentioned we are off to the races.

Abacha, you came back too. You're not holding out from work? No, I'm here. I'm here for now. I might get swept away at the end of the fish concert tonight in Forest Hills because that's where my train is.

So, yeah, I gotta I gotta avoid all those people.

Okay. Are you here for?

Well, that has nothing to do with you being at work now. What does that have to do with anything? For future work days, if I get swept away with the crowd of fish fans, you know. On the way to the studio? No, on the way home tonight.

We don't care about you going home. What are you just saying? You're going to be swept away forever? You won't make it back tomorrow? It's gone.

Okay. Lost at sea. Uh Same thing. In New York City, I guess it is, possibly.

Well, what happens to you when you leave here? Yeah, I hope you get home safe. But for right now, you are here. You decided to show up to work. You're not risking future employment opportunities.

You're not risking a fine. You're not risking a threat. You're not getting a strong talking to. We got a couple of NFL players to the shock of nobody. that have not shown up to work.

How about this? Let's give this guy credit. Maybe. Maybe he doesn't think it matters. He's like, I have so much leverage.

I'm gonna get my money regardless. Michael Parsons is at Dallas Cowboys training camp. And apparently He is participating. Looks like Micah Parsons is not standing around in the back. He's not wearing a helmet looking cranky.

He's not being miserable. Michael Parsons is at training camp and he's a full participant. And maybe he's just like, you know what? I know I'm going to get more money. Than C.

J. Watt. I know I'm going to get more money than Miles Garrett. What the hell does it matter? And I think he will either way.

So. I don't think he's missing any leverage there. A little bit of negotiation in good faith.

Okay, he doesn't want to get fined. like the next two gentlemen. that I'm about to tell you about. These are good soldiers. These are guys that never cause a problem.

These are dudes who just show up to work. They're the best of the best at what they do. And they're looking to get paid commensurate. to their production. That's Trey Hendrickson, obviously, of the Cincinnati Bengal.

And that's Terry McLaurin, wide receiver. for the Washington Commanders. unlike Michael Parsons, Well, they're a little bit older than him. By about five years. They're looking at their last paydays as guys who are pretty much the staring thirty and and basically over the hill.

And Sergeant McLaurin is looking at thirty. And Trey Hendrickson is already there. They're looking for paydays. Terry McLauring. entering into the last year of his contract.

He's getting paid about $22 million a season. This man has grabbed more than 1,000 yards receiving five of the last, well, not five of the last, the last five seasons. He's hauling in 1,000 yards. He only had Jaden Daniels for one of them last year. And before that, he had a bunch of trash cans.

going out there and throwing him. The football. And so now that he's a little bit older, And he's the seventeenth highest paid wide receiver in the league. You would expect him to go. I gots to make some money.

Is he getting that Jamar Chase money? Uh, no. He's not making 40 plus a year. Is he getting that Justin Jefferson money? No, he's not making 35.

Cee Dee Lamb, no, 34. DK Metcalf, a 33, not there. Garrett Wilson Young just got a new contract, 32 and a half. AJ Brown, Super Bowl champ, 32. Amon Ross St.

Brown, 30. Brandon Ayuk, 30. Tyree Kill, 30. You would think that he wants some cash. in that same range.

Terry McLaurin is older. Than all of those guys. T. Higgins sits in number 10. Who would have thought that the Bengals would have paid him?

And. Jamar Chase, but they are. T. Higgins is making 28.8. as a number two wide receiver.

Tyron McLaurin is probably sitting around going, I want. 30. Give me 30 plus. I don't need to make 40 like Jamar Chase. I don't think he's stupid like that.

I don't think his agent is dumb like that. What's the hold up? We have no Idea. We just know that Terry McLaurin is not. at work while they negotiate.

And he has leverage. Jaden Daniels had one of the best rookie seasons in NFL. History. Jaden Daniels was one step away from going to the Super Bowl. That would have been the furthest a rookie quarterback has ever gone, and Terry McLaurin was a great big part of that.

The man went out there and hauled in. more than one hundred catches last season. You don't think the rookie quarterback, the second-year quarterback, wants his top target out there? Adam Peters, who's now running the ship. For the Washington Commanders.

He's commanding the team, or whatever the heck we want to call it. This is his first go-round. He just got here last year. And this is what he had to say. about the talks about Terry McLaurin's contract.

First, I think without a doubt, I think everybody in this building values Terry very much. And we knew that coming in, and we knew that even more after spending a year with him. In terms of where we're at, we've had conversations recently, and we'll look to have some more conversations. And we're going to do everything we can in order to get a deal done. They'll get a deal done.

And now they're small reports, and of course they would be. He's exploring all options and he wouldn't mind a trade potentially. And these are all rumors. And who knows if it's true or not true? If his agent planted him out there, somebody else.

Who knows? Who cares? I think when the season starts Terry McLaurin is gonna be Wide receiver one for Washington. Like Washington has no choice. It's not like they have to bend over backwards for Terry McLaurin.

But all things being not even necessarily equal, But just a little fair, Washington has to keep him around. They would be sabotaging. Their second year quarterback. their offensive rookie of the year, they would be sabotaging their team. If they don't have Terry McLaurin out there.

And so they can negotiate all they want, but they also know they got to get this over with. Adam Peters pretty much said the same thing. Obviously, you would like to get these things done quicker than longer, but they're not it's not always going to happen that way.

So I think the for me, just seeing those things secondhand really, not firsthand, but understanding how that went. Just understanding that, you know, first of all, we're dealing with a really, in the case of Terry, a really good player and a really good person.

So really understanding that and never losing sight of that and making sure that, you know, every conversation we have is very, you know, straightforward, honest and in good faith and just keeping that mindset throughout. Yeah, he doesn't he don't need no beef with one of the most popular players. When Terry McLaurin spoke to the media last week, He was doing a commercial for a local car dealership. Like the only guy who sells cars on the teams is the fun guy. The guy that people actually like and trust, otherwise a dealership wouldn't bring him in.

And Tar McLaurin is is very well liked. He's gonna get his deal. He's gonna get his contract. As much as they brought in a guy like Debo Samuel, and he still got Zach Ertz. You need It's Harry McLaurin.

to make that offence run. Peters knows that. Jaden Daniels sure as hell knows that. And everybody in DC In the DMV. knows that.

Terry McLaurin isn't goin' anywhere. It's just a matter of when he signs the contract. and gets the deal done, He'll be playing in week one. I'd I'd put some money on that one. I'm not gonna put money on it.

But I would.

Okay. And by the way, he's getting fined fifty thousand dollars. for every day that he misses from camp. Give me that money. I will take that 50K a day.

Send that money. It's of me. I can then donate a portion of it to charity. Give me that 50. thousand dollars and oh yeah by the way if he's not available For their first preseason game, if he's still away, they will start docking a portion of his game check.

and so this can get very expensive very fast. Fitzary McLaurin. In the new NFL's collective bargaining agreement, There's no more wiping away. you know, fines and penalties incurred. for not showing up to work.

And so, if Terry McLaurin thinks that he's going to miss a couple days and then, oh, it's all kumbaya, oh, forget about the fines. We'll just get rid of him. No. Them days are over.

Somebody else not giving a damn about no fines, at least for now. And I think his situation might last much, much longer. might consider this the cost of doing business. It's Trey Hendrickson. We heard Mike Brown, the owner of the Cincinnati Bengals, lament the fact.

that he's not at work, Shamar Stewart, who's a rookie, is not even at work yet, hasn't signed his rookie deal because. He wants to make sure all his money is guaranteed. Even if he gets arrested, he wants all his money guaranteed, as per Mike Brown. But when it comes down to Trey Hendrickson, You have to love social media. Earlier today, He posted a photo.

on Instagram. that let everybody know He was in Florida. And how do you know he was in Florida? Because he put a caption. on the photo that said Florida.

The last time I looked, Uh Florida is not right next door to uh Ohio. You know, he can get on a plane and he can get wherever the hell he wants to be. He got a lot of money. But he's not exactly a just sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. Apparently Trey Hendrickson was in Cincinnati.

Over the weekend, in hopes that they would get a contract done. before they started. Uh no, sirree. Trey Hendrickson is also being fined fifty thousand dollars a day. for not participating.

in Bengals' training camp. In his case They may go down to the wire. The Bengals have no choice but to add him. They're a complete joke. They have no defense.

They're driven all by offense. I told you about the two massive contracts they're giving out to Jamar Chase and T. Higgins. One guy is making almost twenty nine mil, the other wide receiver is making north of forty mill. Where's the defense?

There's none. They're gonna run Joe Burrow and his arm into The Dirts. the Ground. The turf. They cannot go a season without a guy who says, Hey, here's 17 and a half sacks for you.

over the past two seasons. Adam Scheffter was on ESPN, as he does, that's who pays his bills. He showed up to work. Adam Schefter. This is what he had to say about the deal that Trey Hendrickson got.

Apparently, it was a. very disrespectful. Trey Hendrickson and the Bengals basically had a deal worked out on the two years. Like, it's all in place. but it bogged down over guaranteed money.

And really, that's unfortunate that you could be that close to an agreement. And then not have it finalized because we disagree so strongly on the guaranteed portion of the deal. For weeks, we had heard about TJ Watt wanting four years of guaranteed money, four years on his new contract. I'd heard the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted two years. In the end, Three.

It's not hard to do these things, right? All these guys got three. The Bengals wrote one. Oh, what do we do? Do we do two?

Do we do three? Just a matter of negotiation. Just a matter of being a pain in the ass. Mantai Teo of all people. was on good morning football.

And he said that the offer, that he received was just Just flat. disrespectful. Look, I think both of these guys will get their contracts done. I've never heard a negative word. About Trey Hendrickson.

You might be on social media letting everybody know I am far away from Ohio right now. Terry McLaurin, we all know where he's at, but he apparently is also not with the Washington Commanders. Each of these good guys in the NFL are currently being fined $50,000 a day. for not showing up to work. Let's look at it this way.

These deals will get done. It's one thing to discuss em now as they go through the negotiations. Trey Hendrickson. He'll be there week one. He will.

Terry McLaurin, he's not going to leave his guy hanging in Washington. They need him. Jaden Daniels needs him. They'll get a deal done. And Michael Parsons, well, He is at work.

We don't know how long he's going to play or when he's going to play. Is he going to practice? Is he going to skip preseason? He will get paid too. Jerry Jones will be a jerk.

And he'll come to an agreement with him like minutes before the start of the regular season. It's all a game right now. Who's getting paid? Who's not getting paid? How long is it going to take?

Sir McLaurin not at work. Getting a contract. Trey Hendrickson, not at work, getting a contract. Michael Parsons, I'd be shocked. If the Dallas Cowboys don't give him a contract.

All a part of business, all a part of uh negotiating. Except for the Bengals is stupid. and Shamar Stewart. are still not at work. What are you going to do?

Rookie. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network to talk more about the Cincinnati Bengals next hour. James Rapien is going to be here with us. From Sports Illustrated. He covers all things Bengals.

We're going to get into some players.

Well, they're not at work today. They're never coming back to work. Jimmy Graham, retiring. Tyron Matthew, retiring. Philip Rivers finally sitting at home with all 25 of his kids.

Philip Rivers. Is calling it quits. But you know what, when we come back on the other side of the break, I'm going to tell you about a quarterback. He's old too. I'm kind of disorder.

And he's not quitting. But we just started camp and he already camp practice? There's something going on with Matthew Stafford. I'm going to tell you what it is. and in Grady Jarrett.

Brand new Chicago Bear, former Atlanta Falcon. Grady Jarrett is looking at his quarterback, Caleb Williams. And he's saying the opposite of what's going on with Matthew Stafford. He's like, Caleb Williams is young and spry. We'll hear what Grady had to say about Caleb Williams on the other side of the break.

and I'm to tell you what is ailing Matthew Stafford. I'll fill you in on the other side of the break. We have so much to do. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief Show, Coast to Coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. Don't move.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity. The sports. Network. Eight eight eight seven ten four ISN That's 888-710-4ISN.

Hey, we talked about some guys that did not show up to work in the NFL. Pretty much have all teams set up for training camp. I think we only got three teams that maybe three or four teams that open up tomorrow, including the Atlanta Falcons. But Trey Hendrickson not at work with the Cincinnati Bengals. Terry McLaurin not at work with the Washington Commanders.

Each one of these guys, they're getting fined $50,000 for not showing up to work. Just give me 50k every day, okay? Just give me 50k every day. Send that money. my way.

Ultimately, I think they'll get some deals done with these two. I'd be surprised, even for a dumbass team like the Bengal, if they don't have Trey Hendrickson on the team by week one. Also, someone who did show up to work is participating so far. Micah Parsons, and he's gonna get more money than both o' dees guys.

Now, I do have to tell you about somebody else who, well, he showed up to work. But he can't participate. I want to tell you about somebody else who showed up to work, and he's impressed with what he's seen so far. These are two quarterbacks. Matthew Stafford, who just got a new contract with the Rams.

You might remember the whole scenario. Oh, he might explore trade, and oh, he might leave. I thought that was a bunch of garbage anyway. Like why would the Rams let him walk out the door? They basically let him go out there and test the waters, quote unquote.

knowing that he didn't want to go anywhere, And that they wanted to keep him. They just swap this guy out. For Jared Goff just to let him walk on out the door. And yes, they did find the ultimate success. Matthew Stafford did help them win a Super Bowl.

But all things considered, They weren't just gonna leave. And just say, hey, Jimmy Garoppolo. The job is yours. We know Jimmy Garoppolo is best served as standing on the sideline. and holding a clipboard, not to consistently play because his body can hold up and do so.

But Matthew Stafford We've seen quarterbacks play into their forties now. Matthew Stafford isn't quite there yet. He is only a spry at thirty seven years old. But Matthew Stafford showed up to camp. And he can't practice.

He has an issue that plagues a lot of people, including me. His back hurts. Listen to what Sean McVay had to say about Matthew Stafford and his health. Matthew's feeling good. He had a little bit of soreness in his back that kind of crept up when he was.

He's been throwing, feeling good. It's not anything that's necessarily new, something that he's dealt with before. Going into year 17, we were going to take a modified approach with him, kind of similar to what we did in the off-season program. And so we'll allow him to just work kind of off to the side on his own, get himself feeling as good as possible, and then he'll be ready for block two, which will really represent once we finish the five-day acclimation period. He feels good about that.

I feel good about that. And ultimately, it's about having him feel as good as possible mentally, physically, emotionally. Going into year 17, and then that's where you do feel fortunate that you got a guy like Jimmy that will step in and do a great job for the first few practices, and then Matthew will be ready to roll. Basically he's old as hell. We got to give him a break.

We can't run the guy into the ground in July and August. We need him. Hopefully for January and February, Now I personally was surprised at what the Los Angeles Rams did last season. They went 10 and 7. They beat Minnesota in the playoffs.

Sorry. Um Sorry, Sam Darnold. And then they lost to the Eagles. And it looked like they were trying to get back into the end of that game they just didn't have. Enough time.

And then we went into the whole Matthew Stafford wants a new contract. We'll go find one somewhere else. And then they settled. On a two-year $84 million deal. Matthew Stafford can still go out there and play.

And to his credit, I don't think it gets talked about enough. Matthew Stafford is a tough. You know what? He just is not going to be out there. Missing Games.

And then you think about some of the additions that the Rams have made in this offseason. They brought on Devontae Adams. They have what is hopefully a healthy Puka Nakua. That dude just plays like a bulldozer so I mean for all the Targets that he gets, and now he plays. You would hope that he can go throughout the season.

They hope that Kyron Williams is out there healthy. And so, yeah, th they got some offensive weapons. That Matthew Stafford didn't fully have at his disposal last year, or just wasn't available, or was not on the team. And so, of course, you want him to become acclimated. with the new pieces and the new weapons.

But Sean McVay said? I ain't worried about that. If he was a first-year player, you know, then I think you'd say, man, every rep really matters. I think the important thing is, is having a big picture perspective with a guy going into year 17. Being something that he's had before and dealt with, you know, throughout different parts of his career, you know, he's so in tune with his body and talking with him.

I feel really good. And I think that's why you want to be as careful and cautious as possible because of the importance of him feeling good. If you didn't get the message, Matthew Stord is entering into season number It's 17. Thank you, Sean McVay. Sean McVay mentioned that about, I don't know, 20 different times.

Thank you, Sean McVay. We we appreciate that. Bacher, what year is Matthew Stafford entering into again? Uh seventeen total, I think.

Okay, yeah. Yeah, Sean McVay told us enough. Luck. We we know this. And and good on the Los Angeles Rams.

You think about that division, the 49ers are certainly taking a step back. The Seahawks aren't scaring anybody with Sam Darnold. I'm sorry. In Arizona is pretty much one of the most mediocre football teams that you will find. It's like they're playing backyard football with Kyler Murray.

So there's no expectations. From them. And so it's realistic that the Los Angeles Rams can go out and win the division. They can win the NFC West. They can keep things moving.

And then I mean, well, look, we had Quentin Lake, cornerback. He joined us a couple of months ago. And he was just so comfortable and confident In the Rams rosti, he said, JR, watch out, look at this. We are. We're gonna compete.

For a Super Bowl. He says we're young, we have retooled. I don't think anybody replaces Aaron Donald, but they went to Florida State and just drafted a Brayden Fisk and Jared Verse with all the picks that they've gotten over the past couple of years. Like they have been able to retool this team. to go on another run.

And so, yes, you want Matthew Stafford there at the end of the season. Because nobody Not a ram's fan? Not Sean McVay. Not me. Maybe not even his dad.

By the way, I've met his dad. His dad is a very fine fellow. He wants to see Jimmy Garoppolo playing football. For the Los Angeles Rams. If Jimmy Garoppolo has to play.

Let's just call the season a wrap. Nobody. wants to see that. At all. It's the JR Sport Re Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

We'll take a break when we come back. Lo since we're talking about Georgia Q B's, Matthew Stafford went to Georgia. Stetson Bennett is somewhere on the depth chart with the Los Angeles Rams. We'll talk about A quarterback that went to Georgia. And is now in Miami.

No, he done went to Miami and got real flashy. We're going to talk about Carson Beck. Because he spoke at ACC Media Day today. And then I want to tell you about a quarterback moving into his second year in the NFL. That's Caleb Williams.

Grady Jarrett just showed up to the Chicago Bears. and he has some positive words about what he's already seen. From Caleb Williams. We'll hear what Grady Jarrett had to say about Williams on the other side. Carson Beck.

Making it sound like Georgia was on their hands and knees trying to keep him. We'll hear what Carson Beck had to say.

So we'll hear from some of the athletes. But right now on the Infinity Sports Network, it's time to hear a news flash. Here he is, Rich Ackerman. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

No talks about umbrellas today. No torrential rainstorm when I walked into the studio, no downpour, it may happen. Kinda cloudy out here in Atlanta right now. Just hot, hot everywhere. Burnin' up.

You see somebody with an umbrella outside and that summer sun is beating down on them, I get it. I get it. And kudos to people that are out there working their asses off. In this heat, I hear you, I feel you. 888-710-4ISN is the number.

That's eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. Speaking of the heat, Not of Miami. Not those guys. Hey, botch, is there anything going on with the heat? Nothing, right?

Who cares, right? Miami Heat, they missed out on Lillard. It seems like they really have no one wanting to go to. Uh Miami. There's not what happened in the offseason?

Uh Duncan Robinson left? No money gambling. Oh yeah, yeah, he's he's got problems to worry about. Maybe it's a little bit more. What did they do?

Duncan Robinson left? What did they do? I don't think they did anything. Wow. Let's take a look at this team.

I know they expect Kyle L. Ware to. kinda turn into something a little bit more than they are. Let's see what's going on with these. bum ass heat team.

Yeah. Oh yeah, they traded for Norman Powell. Great.

So they added 20 points of scoring for no reason. Norman Powell and Tyler Hero will be bringing each other's necks for shots. Uh Andrew Wiggins still exists. Barely. And then you have Bam Ataballo, who's good.

I don't get Bam Ataballo. He can be on the Olympic team.

Sometimes you can give him the ball. He can go out there and go to work. Other times he just Just disappears. Uh congratulations to the Miami Heat for being Average. It's gonna take some time.

And even if they did end up with Damian Lillard, we would not see this man playing basketball. uh this year. Uh let's talk about another team in Miami. The hurricanes. Wow, they got Carson Beck now.

Congratulations. Congratulations to Coach Crystal Ball. You ended up conning this guy to go to Florida, leaving Georgia. for a few million dollars.

Now he can uh ride his Lamborghinis on ocean. Uh, he can go ahead and uh date. Is he still dating one of them twins? They're back together now, huh? No.

I think are they back together? The last I heard, he cheated on them. One of them. I don't know which one. If you cheat on one twin, You ruined both of them.

Because then you get called out by both of them on social media. Yeah, but if you. Does that math, math? If you cheat on one twin. Have you now cheated on both of them?

No, not at all.

Okay. You cheat on the family. Oh, damn. Damn, the family. That's deep.

Have you ever dated a twin? No. Uh,. Yeah. What were you gonna say?

Go ahead. I'm gonna say get them confused. Is that a thing? No, I have I have dated a twin.

Okay. I've dated a twin. You want to know something? There's nothing confused. They're two different.

The twin. Doesn't even look like the other twin. I thought the same thing, but I date one, and then the other one, they look completely different. Oh, they're fake twins. No, they're not fake twins.

They are twin twins. They walk into a room, you will be confused. about who's who. But when you date a twin, You know the, you know, the twin, the other twin, the other sister? didn't look anything like the twin that I dated.

Nothing. Nothing. Like to me, did not look, they could walk in a room, I could see every difference in their face. They did not look the same to me. Hey.

I'm just saying, maybe it's just the experience you had with the twins. You've known them for a long time. But for someone who's never dated one or knew them, known them, they look the exact same.

Okay. What are they? The Cavendish wins? I think so. They're like failed college basketball players and Instagram models now, right?

Yes. Yeah. I just saw they were in the news because they've had body. Body adjustments, right? Is that accurate?

That's what I saw. Yeah. Yeah. Congratulations. You make enough money, you can get your body adjusted.

Uh anyway. Carson Beck, whether he's dating a twin or not. He's participating in ACC. Media days, because the days, of course, now have to be plural. You got so many damn teams.

You got the Big Ten having their media days out in Las Vegas. But Carson Beck. He was asked why he decided to leave Georgia and go to Miami. And let's just say.

Well, let's pay attention. Did he say money? Listen to this. Yeah, I think the biggest thing for me, obviously, was the offensive fit. As a quarterback, the OC, the scheme, the talent and guys that you're going to have around you is huge to the success and ultimately the future A of a quarterback, but of me, right?

And this is my future. And I think that this decision is one of the better decisions I've made. And just trying to develop those relationships and that camaraderie, it's just reinforced. my decision in a positive way.

Okay. So He didn't say anything about money. Nothing. He didn't say I went to Miami. Because my girlfriend went He didn't say I went to Miami because they offered me approximately $5 million.

He didn't say any of that. He said the offensive fit.

Now, to his credit, As far as I know, Miami is going to keep the majority of its offensive line together, whereas things in Georgia had to get shuffled around. A little bit. Nothing about money and Lamborghinis. Even though today at his uh press conference, the one that you just heard, He was wearing a very shiny, large, and noticeable chain. This was not on the levels of Flavor Flave and his clock.

but his chain was quite noticeable. Enough that you just go. Oh, damn, okay. This guy is out here shining. This is a very different college football landscape, I think, that anybody would be used to.

And so he was asked about the differences between UGA and Miami. Maybe there's something different between Cristobal and Smart that I'm not familiar with. But did he also, once again, mention money as a difference? Listen. I think especially now in today's college football there's a lot more parity amongst teams, right?

I think talent is more spread out just with NIL and the transfer portal and just everything that college football has kind of turned into. But you know you look across our team, you see great leadership from the coaches, you see great scheme from the coaches, you look at the players around, you see great talent. And kind of what I've been saying, just from being on the teams at Georgia that were championship caliber teams, they they face adversity really well and I think that's what defines a championship caliber team is being able to face adversity, right? When the going gets tough, do the tough get going, right? And that's not something that we'll really be able to see until we get into the season.

But I do know that there's a lot of talent and really good chemistry, honestly, up to this point and really good coaching staff that's going to lead us to the best of their ability. Man, it wasn't until late in the season that it seemed like all of the schools down in Florida kinda turned things around. Come on, we had the gators on life support. People are looking at Crystal Ball going, What the hell are you doing? when things in Tallahassee looked completely off the rails last year.

for Florida State. And I don't think things are going to change all that much now with Carson Beck. He was asked about replacing Cam Ward, and yes, sir, you are a replacement. You are the new guy. He pretty much said I've been playing quarterback since I was ten years old.

Sure. But when you were playing quarterback at 10 years old, nobody was offering you $5 million. When you were 10 years old, you weren't old enough to drive a car. Maybe you can get outside and drive one of them little toy hot wheels. But you weren't driving old Lamborghini.

You weren't dating no Instagram model who just got her body augmented. And you weren't doing none of that. You were just in the backyard. Nobody cared about your ass.

Now you makin' money Carson Beck is in Miami to make money, like a lot of people. not specifically Miami, and I'm not mad at the guy for making money. Uh be But one day we can't get a guy who tells the truth. And if he tells the truth, is he going to be ripped to shreds? Carson back.

Wishes. That he were in the NFL right now. He wishes. But the guy didn't know how to hold on to the football. In some of the biggest moments and biggest spots, it's just like Turnover City.

with this man. Carson Beck, Before he blew out his elbow, There was not a damn thing. that you could trust about him last year. He's not mobile. He's not moving around.

If he has to move outside of the pocket, he is cooked. He's either doing one of two things. He's turning the football over. Or he's getting driven into the ground. Or it might be a combination of both.

getting driven into the ground While he turns the football over. I'm not mad at Carson Beck. Get as much money out of everybody as you can. Max out what you can get on the college scene. Try to be good.

Try to be relevant come December. Do all of the things. 'Cause the NFL is is not calling for you. It's not. Back up A city.

We talked about his predecessor at Georgia, Stetson Bennett. Where's he at right now?

Well Los Angeles, backup. Back up to the backup to the backup to the backup. Matthew Stafford, God bless him. This man won a Super Bowl, has had an amazing NFL career for a guy coming out of Detroit. Good for him.

won a Super Bowl. Carson Beck, Bacha, how many levels of a backup? Is Carson back at the NFL whenever he gets there? I think he's just a backup at this point. A singular backup.

Just one back he's backup number one? I think so. On a terrible team? Not on a good team. Not on a good team, of course, 'cause there's you'd probably bring in a more experienced guy for that, but I think on a bad team, he could be the backup.

The backup.

Okay. Okay. All right. You giving them more credit than I would. This guy on a normal NFL team.

I think he's barely on a team. I think he's barely on a roster. 'Cause he cannot he is in Concrete. And the minute that he has to make a decision. The minute that the offensive line has moved around.

He's done. He is a sitting Doc. And in the modern NFL, where the defensive ends are moving like running backs. You're done. You can't move.

You are done. Congratulations, Carson Beck. You went to Miami. Got a Lamborghini, got a condo. Had a girlfriend, hot girlfriend, twin.

You're making money, good. Enjoy that life for as long as you have it. Because when you get to the NFL. Back up. City.

Next time tell the truth, man. Can't even get his career started in the NFL. The NFL didn't want him. Busted up elbow or not? Let's see how that plays.

Take one hit to that elbow, Mario Cristobal be ripping his hair out. Whatever hair he has left. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. Carson Beck has yet to even start.

his professional career. or dare I say his NFL career. We're going to talk about some guys that just called it a wrap on their careers. Jimmy Graham done. Tyron Matthew done.

Philip Rivers. Done. And then we'll get into Caleb Williams. I forget about the second-year quarterback. We got James Rapian joining us as well to talk about the Bengals from Sports Illustrated to chair our sport reef show, don't move.
