The concept of deism is an insult to God, as it implies he is a distant, uninvolved creator. In contrast, theism acknowledges God's active involvement in the world, and his ability to bring about good and evil. The book of Isaiah, particularly chapter 45, highlights God's power and sovereignty, and his use of Cyrus the Great to bring about the return of the Jews from exile.
