This man of God is an evangelist. He's an author, a best-selling author, and he has got so many things happening, but I just love the zeal, the passion of Alex McFarland. He's been a mentor and a friend to me. He's our Ministry of the Month this month at the Truth Network, and he's on every station and every affiliate from AFR to Salem that carries this program, Truth Talk.
Alex has some presence on there, or he's a guest on one of the big shows. Alex, man, God is working, brother. How are you doing, man? Give our listeners an update. Well, I'm blessed, man, and part of the reason that I'm just full of joy and gratitude to the Lord is because I am friends with Stu Epperson.
Just think about it, Stu. God has allowed you and I to minister on radio since, I think, about 1999 or 2000. You and I, we've been buddies and co-laborers for 25 years.
Well, when I open the photos in my phone and I click on people, you're one of the first people that pops up because you and I have pictures from standing in front of Carolina University, book launches, from being at NRB and on the air, and I have on my desk the picture of when you graciously asked me to pray at the first ever Truth for a New Generation event in the Greensboro Coliseum. I don't know, what year was that? I mean, that's going way back, Alex. Our listeners, our listeners were there at that.
That is going way back, and you know what? I thank the Lord. I mean, we booked, and I was just with him last week, Josh McDowell, what a great man of God.
He wrote Evidence that Demands a Verdict. It was my joy, Stu. Last week, I was in his home in the Los Angeles area, praying together with him and Dottie, and then 5,000 plus people came out, and you're right. Now 50, when we've done a lot of other things, and I give God the glory, we've done 50 of those Truth for a New Generation conferences all around America. James Dobson, Lee Strobel, I mean, you name it, we've been privileged to work with them.
But, Stu, I'm excited. Right now, we have seven summer youth camps we're working on for the summer of 25. We're in Montana, we're in upstate New York and New Jersey, in Richmond, Virginia, and all over America, telling kids about Jesus, telling kids about what it means to not only be a Christian, but be a citizen. Stu, one of the things I'm excited about, our speaker series in Myrtle Beach.
My grandparents ran a hotel in Myrtle Beach from the 30s to the 1960s, and 17.2 million people a year from all 50 states go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. So we've got a speaker series we're doing in Myrtle Beach, two of the big theaters we've rented, one of which is the Alabama theater we've rented, and we're bringing in Dinesh D'Souza, May 4th. We're bringing in Dr. Gary Chapman, who wrote the Five Love Languages on Father's Day night, Sunday night in June. And then Riley Gaines, the swimmer, she's going to come and share her wonderful Christian testimony, and then we're going to close it out, August 21, with Charlie Kirk. And we've rented the Alabama theater, Turning Point USA. Just last week in Denver, Colorado, I spoke for TPUSA. And so Charlie Kirk is just an amazing man of God, and very influential in our nation, especially among young people.
So, Stu, God is using what we're doing, we give God the glory, and like yourself, we know that America needs Jesus, and that's what we're all about. And we've got to pack the house at all these events, alexmcfarland.com. Is that the right website? Folks can get all the information?
That will tell you everything. Oh, and I've got to tell you one more thing. And this is where I want everybody to come out. For 20 years, Angie and I have gone to the Cove, the Billy Graham Training Center in western North Carolina.
It's fantastic. This summer, I'll be there twice, I'll be there in July 18-20 at the Cove. This year, see, if Will Graham invites you to the Cove, he always asks me to teach a book of the Bible. And this year, he said that nobody's ever done it, I'm going to teach the book of Job.
What is the answer to pain and suffering in the world? And then I'll be there in August with J. Warner Wallace. Folks, you've seen him on Dateline with Keith Morrison, Jim Wallace, cold case Christianity. Jim Wallace and I will be doing a session in August on apologetics, how to defend the Christian faith. So, the website of the Cove is thecove.org, just Google my name in the spacebar.
And I'd love to see you when I'm at the Cove this summer. Well, we've got to, everyone go to that. Brothers and sisters, friends, listeners, if you haven't read Alex's book, you've got to get his books.
Unbelievable stuff. A stand, all kinds of apologetics books, questions, the toughest questions about the Bible for kids, for parents, for teens. Alex, tell us real quick, and this is last, we just only have a minute or two left, your passion and your prayer for America. And challenge our listeners, what can we do to reach our country and our world with the good news of Christ? Give us a little challenge. Wake us up a little bit.
Talk to us, man. Well, everybody needs Jesus. You either have Christ or you need Christ. And the good news, I would say this to everybody, Jesus is as close by as a prayer. And I'll quote a verse, John 6.40, Jesus said, whoever sees me and believes will have everlasting life, and I will raise them up at the last day. So to everybody listening, if you have never put your faith in Jesus Christ, do that.
He loves you, he died for you, he will forgive your sins. All you need do is put your trust in Christ. But to everybody that's a Christian, Stu, I would say pray. What our nation needs is prayer. Every church, if your church is declining and you're not reaching people and you say, how do we get the youth in church? It's everything rises or falls with the state of our prayer life.
I love that. Stu, if I could say for couples in trouble, pray. Pray about your marriage.
Pray about your children. Young people, I promise you. I was in L.A. about 15 years ago with a man that had won his first Grammy award. Everybody would know this person's name. And he looked at me and he said, I'd give everything I ever did to know that my father loved me.
And this man eventually gave his life to Jesus. And the point is, money, Stu, you know this, it's not about fame. It's not about money. It's not about all of the bling of this world. Everybody, you will not be fulfilled. You will never be satisfied until the Lord Jesus Christ is in your life. And so for people listening, maybe that's today. Today is the day that the search can end. Put your faith in Jesus.
He loves you. And listen to the Alex McFarland radio show. We carry it all over the Truth Network.
It's all over AFR. He does a great program answering tough Bible questions with Brother Burt across AFR. Alex, you are such a blessing.
Give us the website one more time and folks can get your newest books. And they can sign up to send their kids to apologetics camp. I can't think of a better camp.
And they can come hear these great speakers at your speaker series. Well, my website, just my name, Alex McFarland dot com. The youth camp is equip retreat dot org. That's equip retreat dot org. And of course, the Cove, the Billy Graham Center, where I speak several times a year.
The dot org. And this is going to sound random, but if you like really good peanut butter and jelly, Alex is the guy. Right, Alex? You still got that peanut butter, brother? We got a peanut butter coming.
Yes. Let's have another show and I'll tell you the story of the McFarland Farm. Let's do it. Hey, thank you, brother, for hanging out with me. You're a blessing. Truth Truth listeners, go follow this guy and support him and come have a have him speak at your church, your conference. And what a what a great man of God. What a dear friend for all these years. Praise the Lord. Yes, sir.
