And look, I love New York. Had a great time in New York City. But I am so glad to not be living in New York City. It was as soon as I landed on Saturday morning back at Memphis International Airport, I got down on my hands and knees and I kissed God's southern soil. It was welcome, by the way, to the Todd Starnes Radio Program.

And we had a wonderful time visiting a lot of the people that you hear on this program. But it was held in New York City. And just a couple of observations. The city's gone to hell in a handbasket. And it's a terrible thing.

But this is what happens when you have terrible leadership. I mean, they were under the communist regime of Bill de Blasio, Comrade de Blasio, for a number of years. Then you had Michael Bloomberg, Mikey Bloomberg, the Democrat turned Republican, turned independent, turned God knows what. And the city is just, it's a hellhole. And it's very sad to say that, but it is.

We were wandering through Times Square. And my news anchor, or rather the host of the morning show on KWAM, our flagship station, Tim Van Horn, had never been to New York City before.

So this was a virgin experience for Mr. Van Horn. And so we thought, you know what, we're going to stay in Times Square to give him the whole saturation. You just plunge right in. And Grace Baker, all I can tell you is when we got out of the Uber, the first thing that just smacks you upside, it's just as hot and humid up there as it is in the south.

Oh, yeah. But here you have the fragrance of people who bathe regularly. and you have magnolia trees and you have the sweet smell of barbecue in the air. Yeah, it's pleasant. We open up the, it's a very pleasant aroma.

We opened up the door to the Uber and the first thing we were smacked upside the head by marijuana smoke. They literally have, you know how we have food trucks in the South? They have marijuana trucks where you can go up and you can get your cannabis. I mean, everybody was smoking. I got a contact high just by walking out of the hotel.

Well, Todd, I think life up there is so miserable right now. Oh, it's hard. You're just looking for a way to escape.

So the homeless people are literally all over the place, very aggressive panhandlers.

So you're getting the stench of the marijuana smoke, the weed. You've got the wacky tobacco. I've never heard it called that. You haven't heard that called? No.

Oh, you're a Presbyterian. It's okay. You live a sheltered life.

So then you've got the smell of the homeless people, stale urine that has like been heated, superheated by the sunlight. Just what I love to smell first thing in the morning. I couldn't wait to get out of there. It is so nice to be back in God's country, as they say. Welcome back, Todd.

Thank you, Grace Baker. All right, folks, we have got a lot going on. And one of the big stories happened over the weekend while you were at church worshiping our Lord.

So while you were singing praise and worship songs and you were having a great time, the Senate Republicans were conspiring to take away your guns.

Now, this is a big deal. This is a big story and one that we need to talk about. Because we've got to call out these rhinos. There's no difference between these people and Democrats, aside from the fact that Democrats are at least more honorable than these Republicans, because they live up to their word. They live up to their promises.

But you've got these rhino Republicans, and we're going to name names. By the way, we've got them listed over at ToddStearns.com. You say, well, Todd, are you concerned that these guys might not come on your program anymore? You know what? I don't care.

I do not care. If they are not going to live up to their promises, the promises they made to the American people, to the conservatives, to gun owners in America, We don't want them on this radio program. And I get that all the time from these folks. We'll say something critical, and the next thing you know, we're getting calls from their people. I just can't believe you called out our Republican so-and-so.

How could you do that? You betrayed the party. No, let me say something here, folks. And we have a lot of new listeners in the North Carolina area, Winston-Salem and Greensboro. And I want you to listen to me on this.

I don't carry anybody's water on this program.

Somebody offends our audience.

Somebody betrays our audience. You better believe we're going to be out there. We're going to be calling them out. I don't care if they're a Democrat. Don't care if they're a Republican.

Don't care if they're a conservative Republican. What was it? Last week we had Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on. Her staff was all upset at us. And why is that?

Because we called her out. We said, can you explain why Milo Yiannopoulos is working as an unpaid intern on your staff, a position that clearly should have gone to an actual college kid from her congressional district? We called them out on it. They may not like it. They may never want to come back on the program, but that's on them.

It's not on us. It's on them.

So you've got these Senate Republicans, and they have decided that they are going to introduce sensible gun control legislation. All right, let's just get something straight here. There's no such thing as sensible with these people. This is all designed to eventually get your guns. That's what this is really all about.

Now, one of the components is probably the most disturbing for me. And look, I don't have a problem. You want to raise the age to 21? All right, fine. I don't have a problem with that.

I don't think it would have stopped any of the mass shootings. As a matter of fact, when you look at the percentages, and by the way, only 3% of the people killed in gun-related crimes, those crimes were committed using an AR-15. Only 3%. I mean, it's a horrible number. You don't want anybody to lose their life.

But the reality is this is not the problem. Ultimately, they're going after the handguns. That's what this is really all about.

But a component of this legislation, and one that has me very concerned, involves the red flag laws.

Now, these red flag laws are designed so it gives the government, whether it be the state government or the federal government, it gives them full control over whether or not you get to own guns or not. It doesn't matter if you're a law-abiding citizen. It doesn't matter. If somebody calls in and says, you know, I saw Todd and he was really impatient in the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A the other day. And he didn't say thank you when the person said my pleasure.

I think there's something going on there. There could be a knock on my door 15 minutes later from the police saying, hey, we've got to confiscate your guns because you were impolite in the drive-thru line at the Chick-fil-A. Which, by the way, I've never been impolite at the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A. Wendy's, on the other hand, that's a different story. But they can take away your guns.

And we have seen this played out. There have been some stories out there. And this is not very well publicized. But this is a very dangerous – this red flag law is very, very dangerous. I'll give you an example.

Most recently, there was a guy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. And what we love about our Virginia listeners, you guys have declared war on your local school boards. As well you should. Every parent, every taxpayer in America, you ought to be attending school board meetings. You ought to be raising concerns.

You've got to be reading these textbooks because this is how they're radically changing America. And the people in Virginia get that. They're like, absolutely.

So this guy goes to the school board meeting. He's just a regular Joe, and he raises his concerns. The guy doesn't want his little girl sharing a bathroom with a grown boy who thinks he's a girl. And so what happens?

Well, after that school board meeting, there's a knock on the door. It's law enforcement. The FBI said that this guy posed a threat, and therefore they had to confiscate his guns.

Now, this happened in Virginia just about a couple of months ago. We told you the story when it happened on this radio program.

So I've got big concerns about what the Republicans have signed on here to. And again, this goes to the heart of whatever the heck President Trump was thinking by endorsing Dr. Oz, who is in fact supportive of gun control.

So now we have the Democrats have a filibuster proof majority to get this legislation through the Senate. And I want to name the senators who betrayed gun owners. John Cornyn, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy. Boy, that guy turned out to be a leftist. Out of Louisiana, Susan Collins in Maine, Senator Lindsey Graham, Rob Portman, Willard Mitt Romney, and Pat Toomey.

And Tom Tillis for you folks there in North Carolina. Ladies and gentlemen, every single one of these, and I believe Portman's not running for re-election, every single one of these deserve to be sent home. Quite frankly, at this point, we'd be better off with Democrats in those seats than those people right now. But this is where we are. This is only the start.

And all you have to do is go through and look at your history, and we're not going to have a history lesson today. We may do that later in the week, though. But when you go back and look at history over the past hundred years or so, And you see what happens when a government starts to take away the guns of the citizens. It ends in dictatorships. It ends in genocide.

It ends freedom. And that's why we have to be very, very careful about what's happening in this country when they're coming after our guns like this. But you folks in North Carolina, Tom Tillis, really, were you surprised that Tillis did this? I mean, Susan Collins in Maine, you guys are used to her going wishy-washy-squishy. I mean, that's not a surprise.

But Lindsey Graham out of South Carolina, what a wuss that guy is. He's all over the place on this stuff.

So, look, we're going to get into that. Also, new numbers coming out, and it's not looking good for Joe Biden. A little bit later, we're going to be talking to a guy who wants to head up the Southern Baptist Convention. His name is Tom Askell. And when you look at what's been happening in this country from a cultural perspective, it's very clear to me that Southern Baptists have disengaged.

And we have a culture where the difference is guns can be used for hunting or for sport shooting in Canada, and there are lots of gun owners, and they're mostly law-respecting and law-abiding. but you can't use a gun for self-protection in Canada. That's not a right that you have in the Constitution or anywhere else.

If you try and buy a gun and say it's for self-protection, no, you don't get that. You get it for hunting. You can get it for sports shooting. You can take it to the range. No problem, as long as you go through our rigorous background checks.

But there's a difference around the culture, and one of the things that we're seeing with the debate in the States is you get more and more of the American-style right-to-carry self-defense arguments filtering up through the usual more right-wing communications channels. All right, that's the Prime Minister of Canada, Gary Trudeau, an acting or practicing thespian, rather. But we don't judge here on the Todd Stearns Radio Program. It's Pride Month. Trudeau is saying what Biden hopes to be true here on this side of the border, that you don't have a right to defend yourself with a firearm.

Hey Todd You hit a nerve with me When you brought up background checks Let's talk about background checks And red flags I think a red flag Is when you have a million people die From a virus That the best we can tell If nothing else There's serious, serious doubt About how it was created And how it was released wouldn't that be a red flag wouldn't you want to find that out and do a background check wouldn't you want to do a background check when you've got millions of people talking about adverse effects to an experimental drug that you're being forced to take that sounds like a red flag to me let's do a background check you've got a radio show Todd you spend three hours a day five days a week pointing out red flags and begging for background checks that our government ignores until our government shows us they under even understand what a red flag and a background check means i don't want to hear it come out of their mouth steve look let's be clear you're right i mean there's there's a lot to be concerned about and especially when it comes to the uh the china virus vaccines. And we'll get to more of that a little bit later on. We have some new intel there. But the concern I have is this is an indirect way to confiscate legally acquired firearms. That's why these red flag laws, in my estimation, my reading of the Constitution, these are unconstitutional.

You're going to go in and literally somebody makes a complaint against you, and that would give the government the right to knock on your door and confiscate every firearm you have. That's unconstitutional. Steve, got to run. Good call today. Thank you, sir.

Let's go to Jerry in Gainesville, Georgia, WDUN, our great affiliate there. Hey, Jerry, what's on your mind? Oh, God, this thing is, I just feel like it's something that's been going on for a long time. We've been having these mass shootings and school campuses, and, you know, just a thought occurred, especially as of late, these guys are going out and they're, you know, taking their little guns and they're shooting folks. And so my question is, and I'd like to get your take on this, do you think that there's a possibility that the left is pumping cash into some of these people and guaranteeing them in a fashion, we're going to pay you this money to do this mass shooting, and you're you're going to you need to do it like this this is how it needs to go down and it doesn't go down that way i mean you know it just there just seems to be so many of these over and over and over again how can it be that for years you know like you were saying that the amount of people that are actually killed from guns is very low compared to you know automobile access look jerry I mean, going back to just recently, going back to whatever happened on January the 6th, one simple question the government refuses to answer.

Exactly how many FBI agents were involved in the planning, plotting, the execution, and how many were actually there on the day of the attack at the U.S. Capitol? And nobody wants to answer that question. Everybody wants to deflect. But I think the reason why, Jerry, is because at the end of the day, they will discover this was a government plot, and they used a lot of these people to wage whatever kind of a war, to create whatever kind of a narrative they wanted to create.

Every single one of these mass shooters was known to the FBI, but nobody bothers to ask, what does that mean, known to the FBI?

Well, we know for a fact that in Buffalo, for example, Jerry, you had a situation where the shooter was in a chat room talking with FBI agents.

So to your question, Jerry, and it is a valid question, how many of these shooters have actually been encouraged to carry out these attacks by these undercover FBI agents? And that is a terrific question. Jerry, we got to run. Got a couple of lines open here, folks. That's 844-747-8868.

Well, there's a very simple solution to this.

So she says that Dinesh D'Souza's movie, 2,000 Mules, and I know many of you in this audience have seen it. It was a powerful documentary. And she says it's been debunked. Debunked by who? Fox News?

Debunked by the Democrats? Debunked by Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon and the crowd over at CNN, the most profane name in news? Crying Negro Network. Thank you, Judge Joe Brown. Who debunked it?

But again, this can be easily resolved. All Liz Cheney has to do is ask Dinesh D'Souza to come before the committee and testify. And Dinesh would be more than happy to do that. But you see, they don't want that to happen because Dinesh knows he has the evidence, he has the goods to prove the election was stolen. But they don't want to hear that.

As a matter of fact, Liz Cheney, not only is she disparaging, and by the way, Liz Cheney is opening herself up to a lot of lawsuits. I wanted you to hear what she had to say about Rudy Giuliani, America's mayor, just a few moments ago. You will also hear testimony that President Trump rejected the advice of his campaign experts on election night and instead followed the course recommended by an apparently inebriated Rudy Giuliani to just claim he won and insist that the vote counting stop to falsely claim everything was fraudulent. What, she got proof that Giuliani was drunk? I mean, really?

Is that the path they're going down here? We'll see how this plays out. But now the Democrats on the committee, which is all of them, including Kinzinger and Cheney, they're saying they've got the goods to bring criminal charges against Donald Trump. I don't think they've got the goods. But we'll see how this plays out.

Hey, red flag law I was already thinking about it before you started talking about it I'm afraid what they're going to do with the red flag law Is they're going to start calling religious affiliations fanatical And things that won't bend to the government's will and they'll use that to de-arm people that go to church, just law-abiding citizens like that. Could be. It could be, Paul.

And we've started to see small inklings of that with now the drag queen movement, where if you try to disrupt, I think there were a bunch of guys trying to disrupt a drag queen story hour, and they're going to be facing hate crime charges. Because now if you have a problem with grown men wearing pantyhose and stiletto heels, cavorting about with children in the public library, you're the bad guy. Yes, sir. You're absolutely right. They'll twist it around.

And when they came out with that hate crime law, I figured they was going to use it. And it wouldn't surprise me if they started pulling pastors out of pulpits for simply preaching the truth of what the Bible actually says on things like homosexuality and all that kind of stuff and calling it hate crimes. Look, that's already happening in Great Britain over in the UK, Paul, where pastors have been charged, and a couple of street preachers especially, have been charged with hate crimes because they were preaching, quoting from the Bible, literally quoting Scripture. And look, I get it. I mean, some people believe that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin.

Others do not. That's between you and the Almighty, in my estimation. I don't judge another person's faith. But what I can say is this. When you set up a government agency to determine what religion is acceptable and what religion is not, I got a big problem with that.

Todd, I'd like to comment on the red flag laws that appear to be coming. I've got a lot of friends and a lot of neighbors that carry them, and not one of them causes me any concern. The one person in the United States that I see major cognitive decline, that's my own opinion, is a president of the United States, and he carries the nuclear launch codes, and nobody's talking about it. Go figure, Todd.

Well, Marv, appreciate that call. Look, no doubt that the president is in cognitive decline. No doubt about that at all. As a matter of fact, you had David Axelrod on one of the Sunday shows, and now they've started to breach the topic and breach the issue of whether or not Biden is going to be too old to run for re-election.

Well, he was too old to run for election in the first place, this guy.

so this is going to become an issue and i suspect they've got enough people around him that he's not going to you know declare nuclear war i don't know i do not know but we will uh we'll keep you updated on that hey look i want to play some audio and we've got a packed show and if i don't do this now we're not going to be able to get to it a lot of people have asked me about what's going on at fox news i worked there for 15 years and for 13 of those years when roger Ailes was in charge. We were all about God and country and family. That's what it was about. But Fox News has made a turn, and it happened when I was there. Not once did I ever have a story censored.

Not once did they tell me I couldn't report on anything until those last two years. And then the mood changed. They started hiring a lot of people from the National Association of LGBT journalist. And I know this is hard for a lot of you folks to understand. There are more LGBT activists employed at Fox News Channel right now than there are evangelical Christians.

That is a cold, hard reality. And they no longer represent the traditional families in America. Fox News, they have gone to the left on those issues. And I was told flat out a number of times in my last two years there, don't be talking about the transgender stuff. Don't be talking about the drag queens.

You got to give those people a pass.

So anyway, on Friday, Fox News Channel broadcast a propaganda piece, and that's the best way I can describe this, a propaganda piece embracing gender reassignment surgeries for toddlers, transgenderism for toddlers.

now we're going to play this because I want you to hear it I people are they're genuinely shocked and that's why I want you to hear this it's not just Todd Starnes saying this it is very clear to me that Fox News Channel has turned a page and they are basically becoming CNN without the talent So this is the report that aired on Dana Perino show on Fox News 14 year old Ryland Whittington is a typical Southern California teenager. And the Whittingtons, along with mom Hillary, dad Jeff and sister Brinley, are a typical family. The only difference, though, in Ryland's eyes, is what this family can mean to the tens of thousands of kids under 18 who identify as transgender. We put our story out there so people could see that there's another family out there that is going through what we're going through, or there's another family who's proud of who they are. Before Ryland could even speak, he managed to tell his parents that he is a boy.

I could just see it. It wasn't him trying to be a brat. It was like painful. It was truly painful for him to have to wear feminine clothing and for us constantly telling him that you're a girl. And unlike some trans kids, when Ryland came out at age five a few years later, he had the full support of his parents.

Initially, there was some pushback from us and trying to understand this. We were confused like most people are. We thought that gender and sexuality were the same thing. It took us a while to figure out that those two things are different and that children actually do recognize their gender identity very young.

Some of them, not all. But they listened to Ryland and to Hillary's conservative faith. For me, it's just a deep spiritual belief that you believe in God and he created us the way he wanted us.

Well, then, yes, he created Ryland just the way he is. And they listened to families. They met in support groups. There was a father who was sitting across the table. He says, you have no idea how lucky you are to be here, which kind of took me back.

I didn't at that point consider myself lucky to be there. And he said, you know, our child had displayed this gender dysphoria or this gender misalignment at the same age that Ryland has. And we didn't listen. And we pushed back. That pushback led that child to turn to self-harm as a teenager, which 60% of trans and non-binary kids engage in, according to the Trevor Project.

More than 50% consider suicide. That for me was the turning point. I didn't want to see Ryland to go through that. I'd rather have a living son than a dead daughter. I guarantee that if we had pushed back and done what a lot of parents do, I don't think that we would have either one of the kids that you see before you here today.

Allowing him to live authentically and true to himself and be who he really feels like he is. When you get to know Ryland, you see just how proud and confident he is of himself. Ryland's story got international attention in 2014 when a family YouTube video went viral, and Hillary has since written a book called Raising Ryland. I never thought that I would be known for this as well as I am, but really it's just a small part of who I am. He just brushes things off his shoulders like it's fine.

He moves on in his life and he just kind of thinks everything we've been through, he's just learned to do that, and he's really good at it. I could never do that. The Whittingtons believe sharing their story could make a lasting difference in another child's life, something they learned from that support group father nearly a decade ago. All right, that was Brian Yennis, and you can Google him. And it's interesting, folks, what Fox News has turned into.

You've got the Southern Baptist Convention out there, so you've got a lot of Baptists, and it was also Gay Pride Weeks that had the big pride parade. and grace baker we've got the photos up over at toddstarns.com the the headline we have genitals and lube yeah don't look at it during the lunch hour i suggest made me lose my appetite especially if you're eating eggplant parmesan i just want to throw that out there i'm not even going to ask why so one of the well one of the parade floats there's a giant eggplant oh and a drag queen is mounted atop the eggplant and surrounded by men wearing thong underwear.

Well, that's a horrifying image. Yeah, it is. And clearly some of them have not been sunning themselves. A little too much pastiness, if you ask me. Buy some self-tanner.

So here's what gets me, though, Grace. You know, I got in trouble at Fox years ago because I described these big, burly men and buttless leather chaps that were marching in the parade. And that was just describing what I saw. You're calling it like you saw it. And I was accused of advancing stereotypes.

And I'm like, it's not a stereotype. They were wearing buttless leather chaps. Oh, my gosh. And I made a comment about how, you know, it could be difficult. I mean, with the chafing, you know.

Oh, there it is. Yeah, because they weren't wearing underpants. They were. That's apparently a thing in these pride parades.

So anyway, so I decide, you know what, as disgusting as this stuff is, we're going to post the pictures because I want people to see. I want them to know the word I'm making this up. And sure enough, we've got there. There's a video of the Dran Queen shouting atop the eggplant. We have genitals and lube.

And there are kids, just hundreds of kids. Is Kyle okay? He looks like he's keeling over. He looks a little peckish. He looks a little peckish.

It's okay, Kyle. We're going to get you through this.

So you've got that, and all these children.

So they're hollering out to the children, we have genitals and lube. They're like, Mommy, what is lube?

Well, let's just say you don't use it just to go down the slip and slide, little buddy. Or maybe you can. There's also video, Grace Baker, of men who are, I'm just going to read the description here. It says, A mother stands by an excitement as her toddler is exposed to half-naked men whipping each other in BDSM and doggy play attire.

So they're dressed in like these whips and chains. And it's not like they're half-naked. They're about 75% naked. I mean, I don't want to see anybody like that. And they're literally, I mean, they've got like a whip, and they're like whipping their friends as they walk along.

Is that normal behavior? Not to my knowledge. Anyway, there are other videos of children, and this is fascinating. We've got to give the guy a shout-out who did all this. Drew Hernandez is the guy.

Some of the parents were just, they were forcing their children. And there's this one video. It's like, Mommy, I don't want to watch. I want to watch the man spanking the other man in the phone. That looks like it hurts.

Yes, it does look like it hurts, right? He's getting a spanking. What did he do wrong? One of the moms was literally physically turning the child.

So, I mean, this is... Child abuse. Yes. Every single parent ought to be charged with child abuse who brought their kids to... Look, if that's what you want to do in front of God, country, and the Southern Baptists, then knock yourself out.

But not in front of the children. I mean, come on. She's a little America. We all know someone who's all work and no chill. Trust me, that used to be me.

So we're all getting hurt, as you pointed out in your introduction. We're all getting hurt. Every American is getting hurt by the incompetence of President Biden and his extreme progressive administration. There's no doubt about that. There's no debate.

There's no toe sides of the story. His own party would like him to vanish. All right. They're not behind Biden. They know he's a disaster.

He'll go down as the second worst president in the history of this country.

So because people are suffering on a day-to-day basis as they see their paychecks erode and their money stream become precarious, I said to my folks, look, we got a book out. You know, when you look at what's happening, especially in cable television right now, cable news, it just seems to me that we're having to go back to our roots. You know, the early days back when Rush Limbaugh first started, where talk radio really was beginning to move the needle, and you could still have that platform to talk about the issues that, quite frankly, you're not able to talk about on some of the cable news channels.

Well, that's an excellent point.

So the last line of defense for the people of america is talk radio because talk radio prospers when ideas are put forth now there's a healthy dose of ideology and talk radio you know that everybody knows that but you don't have the censorship that you have on the corporate media which controls all the cable and network news so there is censorship there they tell you what you can and can't say And if you defy them, you're fired. You don't have so much of that on corporate radio. There's a little bit of it, but not a lot. And so, once again, talk radio emerges as, as I said, the last line of defense. Bill, the hearing's underway right now.

Liz Cheney taking a few shots at Rudy Giuliani, says he appeared to be inebriated during one of the meetings, says that Trump never tried to calm down the crowds, which is provably false. Do you think these hearings are going to move the needle one way or the other? No. No, people are much more concerned about the future than the past. And the people who hate Trump, that's who's watching this.

There's not anybody watching it. Because if you don't know the fixes in in this committee, then you don't know anything.

So all of these people hate Trump. They want to disparage Trump. They don't want Trump to run again. They're trying to throw stuff out. I watched a little of it.

I didn't see anything new. Did you see anything new? I saw nothing new. Nothing new. I saw nothing new.

I knew all of that stuff. Liz Cheney has destroyed her political career. She'll lose in Wyoming. And then CNN will hire her as a commentator. That's what will happen to her.

And the hapless Democrats on the committee. I mean, everybody knows her agenda.

So only 20 million people watched on Thursday in prime time. That's a shadow of what watches the State of the Union or the debates. Nobody really is emotionally involved with this at all. Bill, where do you see things going for the midterms? It looks like the Republicans are almost all but guaranteed to take over the House.

What say you?

well i think the democrats are in a place that it's almost impossible in four and a half months to get out of so you know you have two things you have social justice which is collapsed collapsed the criminal justice system everybody knows that and you have climate change which has collapsed the economy that ignited inflation by making it more difficult to harvest fossil fuels in America that raise the cost of everything. Democrats were solidly behind both. You can't get out of that hole. The problem is that the Republicans are fairly mediocre. You don't hear a lot of solutions to problems from the GOP.

And so if I were leading the party and one of the problems is there is no one leading the Republican Party. No one. I would put the word out, look, yeah, we got a great chance in November, but you're going to have to come up with some innovative solutions to problems, because the Republicans have not yet done that. You know, I saw some reports out earlier today, you know, more people are talking up DeSantis, hoping that he steps up to the plate. Do you think, I don't think DeSantis runs, throws his head in if Trump is in fact going to run in 2024.

I don't think you'll primary Trump. Why would he do that? He's a young guy. He wants to alienate 50% of the Republican Party, the MAGA people? Why would you want to do that?

So if Trump runs, there's a possibility DeSantis may be the second. I know that's been discussed. One of the two would have to move out of Florida, but that's not hard to do. But if Trump runs, it's going to be hard for anybody to primary him because he's going to have so much money and he's got a built-in 50% of the Republican Party that will vote for him. And to give Trump his due, he ran the economy well.

Sure did. Sure did. And that's what it's all about. And he ran it well, 1.4% inflation under Trump. We're scraping 11%, 12% inflation now under Biden after 18 months.

I mean, come on. So I don't see anybody really in a Republican Party challenging Trump. Trump knows that, and that's why they're trying to take him out in other areas, a la January 6th Committee. There you go. All right, Bill, we're going to leave it there.

There are big corporate, the conglomerates that control most of talk radio. They're the ones that were out there telling their host and their staff, you're going to get the vaccine, and if you don't, you're going to lose your job. You've got to show up to the office wearing the mask. You've got to tow the party line.

Some of these guys are actually telling their talk show hosts they're not allowed to talk about what happened in the 2020 presidential election.

So I would contend that the independent owned and operated talk radio stations are the ones that are ultimately leading the charge here. Because I can tell you as the owner of a talk radio station, I don't tell my people what they can and can't say. That's their right. That's their ability, their privilege that we give them to work here at Stearns Media. All right, look, we've got to take a break here.

So now you've got Big Bill Barr, Sheriff Bill, and he's out there casting dispersions on Dinesh D'Souza and the 2000 Mules documentary. Liz Cheney, just a few moments ago, she said that it had been debunked.

Now, let's play that audio. And this. Donald Trump now, quote, clings to more fantastical theories, such as Dinesh D'Souza's debunked 2,000 mules, even as recounts in Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin confirm Trump lost. All right. And so then Bill Barr goes on, and we're working on getting this audio for you.

This is happening in real time on the program. Are we ready? Let's listen. That's stolen by fraud. And I haven't seen anything since the election that changes my mind on that, including the 2000 Mules movie.

Well, maybe you can assess that 2000 Mules and people are talking about that.

Well, I mean, just in a nutshell, you know, I just think the GBI was unimpressed with it. and I was similarly unimpressed with it because I think if you get because I was holding my fire on that to see what the photographic evidence was because I thought well hell if they have a lot of photographs of the same person dumping a lot of ballots in different boxes you know that's hard to explain so I wanted to see what the photographic evidence was but the cell phone data is singularly unimpressive. I mean, basically, if you take two million cell phones and figure out where they are physically in a big city like Atlanta or wherever, just by definition, you're going to find many hundreds of them have passed by and spent time in the vicinity of these boxes. And the premise that, you know, if you go buy five boxes or whatever was, you know, that that's a mule who's just indefensible. All right, so that's Bill Barr laughing, literally laughing.

You heard him. That was Bill Barr. And I don't know if he was an ebri. I don't think he was. I don't think he slurred his words.

But that's irrelevant, Grace Baker. I'm just saying that Bill Barr and Liz Cheney are both using this national platform of the committee to disparage 2,000 mules.

So why are they not bringing in Dinesh D'Souza so they can ask him these questions? D'Souza says he's happy to show up. He's happy to answer the questions. Pay attention here, folks. We're not going to let anything slip through the cracks, but something's not right about this.

Hi, Todd. I would like to talk about how they are using January 6th as a way of deflecting what this current regime is up to in the White House. We have an old, tottering, farting man clearly has cognitive issues and is not in control. He's weak and ineffectual. and farah where do you think all this goes what you say it's a deflection what do you think it's a deflection of uh because this current i call it regime that's all this is because this regime is incapable of helping this country build up again you see farah that's where i think this is I have an answer to your thought here.

I don't think they want this country to be great. They don't want this country to be successful. They don't want a thriving economy. They've got to destroy it so they can build up what they want to happen next in this country. And what is that?

So let's talk about the China virus pandemic for just a moment. What was the point of all of that, Farrah? It wasn't to protect people. It wasn't about public safety. This was to see how far the government could push the average American citizen.

How much civil liberty could we take away from the average American citizen? That's what this is really all about.

And Farrah, thanks for the call. This is about testing, testing the American people to see if there really is resolve to defend our freedoms, if there really is resolve to stand up and do whatever it takes to protect the Constitution. That's what this is all about. And I think, again, looking back on the China virus debacle, I think what you will see, ladies and gentlemen, is that we failed the test. You say, well, Tom, what are you talking about?

How many people shut down their businesses? How many people shut down their church houses? And we saw in places, and again, I'm not talking about Berkeley, California, not talking about godforsaken Brooklyn, New York. I'm talking about Mississippi, where they literally sent the police out to hand out tickets and punish people attending an outdoor church service So we have done a pretty lousy job as people because we had the opportunity to stand up And so now what are they doing? They're about to use red flag laws to crack down on your gun ownership.

That's where all this is going. You watch what happens when they take away the guns, all bets are off. And they know it. That's why they want to get them. And they got a bunch of moron Republicans more than willing to join the cause.

Well, there's so much. But regarding your subject, you know, I believe the pandemic was a planned-demic. And there's plenty of evidence for that. And there's even evidence about monkeypox, which they were already working on a cure for it months and months ago before it came out. You know, Kat, I am so glad you reminded me of the big monkeypox epidemic.

I mean, this is – I think you're on to something here, Kat. Again, they've got to figure out a way to stop people from going to the ballot box in November. That's what this is really all about.

And again, if people are not going to go, you know, I think people are over the China virus, but I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure about monkeypox. I mean, I believe it all has been planned. Cat, what's going on? Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Cat, we can barely hear you. What's going on? Is somebody trying to attack you? Oh, my dog's barking at my landlord coming in. Oh, boy.

All right. That low ground. And the thing is, he loves him. Oh, that's nice.

Well, that's nice. He's a good dog. But no, Bill Barr did nothing to help President Trump or our country. And I have no faith at all that anything will ever happen to any of these people who have committed treason and who are against our country. And if Donald Trump runs, I'll vote for him.

But I have no doubt that he will not win. They will do anything to stop him from winning.

Well, let's hope that we have super majorities of Republicans that are elected in the House and the Senate. And let's hope and pray, Kat, that they truly are conservative Republicans, and they'll stand up and defend Donald Trump. But, look, I wouldn't put anything past these guys. And they're going to try. They're going to try to keep you from going and voting on Election Day.

All right, I have a question for all of you Catholics and Protestants out there, and non-denominational types, too. Are you guys changing your theology when it comes to gay marriage and all that kind of stuff?

This is from WorldNetDaily. A minister in the state-endorsed Church of Scotland says the Bible is not always the authority that people must follow. You know, I noticed as I've been visiting around churches, you know, a lot of churches don't use the Bible that much. They're using, I don't know, somebody's book. It's almost like a self-help service.

You know what I mean? It's not like you're getting a lot of substance. You're just getting a lot of talking points. Grace Baker, you're smiling at me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Oh, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. You know, years ago, it's kind of like the music. I think this all started in the contemporary Christian music world where, you know, it used to be that we sang hymns, right? Yes, we still sing hymns. And they've been around for like hundreds of years.

Well, have you noticed that the new stuff, like since the 80s or 90s, it's not very fashionable. I've noticed it's all about water. All the lyrics are like water. Your love is like a flowing river. Every time I, yeah, it's like during worship, you're like, oh man, I've got to go to the bathroom.

I don't know why. But you know what I mean? It's very strange.

So I was interviewing, years ago, I was interviewing a new Christian band, and they were very young people. And they were explaining the versatility of their music. And they said, you know, the great thing about our music is you could be singing it to God or you could be singing it to your girlfriend. Oh, there's a Justin Bieber song like that. There you go.

So all that to say, I think, unfortunately, that kind of mentality has sort of seeped in or infested or infected the pulpit in a lot of churches. I gotcha. And so now you've got people, you really have a generation. You know, we used to have Sunday school and the Baptist faith tradition. Yeah.

A lot of churches don't do that. They have life groups. Life groups.

Okay. I don't need a group. I don't need group for life. I don't understand what that means. Yeah.

I've noticed.

Well, they're just trying to make everything sound cool. Yeah. It used to be you go to church and you're like, well, we're reading out of Genesis today.

Now it's like we're talking about the topic of happiness. Or like, yeah, exactly. It's, okay, how to be happy. I know. How to be happy.

How to get along with your spouse. Oh, my gosh. I'm like, okay. That's why I like when you go to church, he says we're reading out of this, talking about this. You can reference stuff, but it's not, you know, self-help.

You want to feel a little uncomfortable in church, right? Isn't that the point? I think that's a little bit of the point. What do we know? There's a great Southern Gospel song about feeling about as uncomfortable as a whore in church on Sunday.

Whoa. Yeah, right? Because you're kind of like, you know. It's a great song, actually. I've heard of that song, but I can't remember who sang it.

There's another great song. I thank God for the preacher who scared the hell out of me. Oh, yeah. I know that one, too. But I still like good old hymns.

I just think they're much prettier.

So anyway, the Church of Scotland, they don't think that homosexuality is a sin anymore and that the Bible must give way to same-sex marriage. I see that happening in this country. I've seen it happening within some Southern Baptist convention circles.

Some of my fellow Southern Baptists have embraced that. I feel like churches, they think, oh, that's happening overseas, but it's coming over here.

So what happens over in Scotland is coming over here. Just get ready. All right, you Lutherans, you're in the news. This is from Fox. A transgender Lutheran bishop in California, that's a mouthful, resigned over allegations.

Oh, this is interesting.

So the bishop did not resign over the transgender issue. The bishop resigned over allegations of racism from the congregation. This is great. You know, what's really hard about these racial identity people is that you got to know which card trumps the other. And race always trumps everything else.

The name of the organization is called the Shelter Hope Pet Shop in Thousand Oaks, California. And if you support the National Rifle Association and you want to adopt a pet, then they're not going to let you do that. The owner says, quote, We do not support those who believe the Second Amendment gives them the right to buy assault weapons. If your beliefs are not in line with ours, we will not adopt a pet to you. If you lie about being an NRA supporter, make no mistake, we will sue you for fraud.

If you believe that it is our responsibility to protect ourselves in public places and arm ourselves with a gun, do not come to us to adopt a dog. Wow.

So anyway, she did an interview. The owner did an interview with NBC News, and she's doubling down.

So all of you pro-gun folks, you're not going to be allowed to adopt a pet from Miss Kim Sill is her name, Kim Sill. She says that many people have already called and threatened to stop donating money. And she says, fine, keep your money. If I go out of business, I go out of business, but I have to do something. And this is the only thing I can do to make the point that mass killings by people armed with guns have to stop.

So she's going to punish what? Law-abiding gun owners? Is that what she's trying to do here? This makes no sense to me. Grace Baker, what say you?

Well, it's ironic because there's like, I mean, most shelters across the country, especially after the pandemic, are overrun with animals. and they're basically begging people to take the pets.

So now this lady's like making it even harder for people to get the pets. It really just hurts the dogs. You know, there's plenty of places people can go get pets, but those poor animals. I feel bad for the pets. You know, she probably feeds them like organic tofu stuff.

Poor things. I feel bad for the dogs. I really do. The cats, not so much. But the dogs, yeah.

Well, Ron, I mean, that's a good question. I mean, initially, I would think they would come in with warrants, and they would search your property.

So unless you have them hidden somewhere or in another location, I'm not sure they'd be able to get their hands on them. But any gun in your house, if you get flagged, they will take every gun you own, and they'll take that away. And quite frankly, it's going to be hard to get those guns back. Right. And maybe I missed something but did i understand you said that this has been voted on or well no they've reached a ron they've reached an agreement so what you need to be doing is calling your senator tom tell us and you need to be raising holy you know what and maybe that's what you should do during the break call your senators and tell them to vote this down all right got to take a break 844-747-8868.

I am genuinely surprised by this story. and it comes to us from Congressman Matt Rosendale, a Republican from Montana. The zoo in Billings, called Zoo Montana, is hosting a drag queen story hour.

No, I'm not making this up. This is all part of the gay pride celebrations there in Montana. and they're inviting the children to come to the zoo where the drag queens will cavort about with the children and then they'll be able to go check out the zoo. They're calling it a family-friendly event. Funny, that's what they called the Gay Pride Parade in Los Angeles and we've got the videos showing grown men dressed as women dancing atop eggplants and doing Lord knows what.

Anyway, it's $4 per person, and you have to use the password fierce, as in fierce. All right, let's go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Our good friend from the great state of Montana, Congressman Rosendale. Congressman, good to have you back with us. Good to be back with you, Todd.

I'm glad that somebody's out there helping us fight the culture war. Yeah, this one is a head-scratcher in, of all places, Montana and at your local zoo, Congressman. Yeah, it's really a shame. I've been talking to a lot of people over the last several days. I was back in Billings on Saturday and Sunday, and they are deeply disturbed.

The rank-and-file people, community members across that city are deeply disturbed. A lot of them are supporters of Zoo Montana, and I will tell you that there was more discussions about pulling their support from Zoo Montana based upon this very strange and outlandish plan that they have to expose children to such a perverted sexual act. It's just very bothersome and disappointing, quite frankly. Congressman, have we heard from the zoo? Are they explaining why it's so important to have the drag queens come and read to the children?

The executive director basically doubled down on it and said that I was being a prude or something like that because it was just a story hour for children. And I am sorry, this is a classic example of grooming these children and having them have discussions about sexuality that they should not be exposed to, and anyone that thinks that that is somewhere short of child abuse and very close to pedophilia, as far as I'm concerned. You know, it's interesting you brought that up, the grooming part of it. There's a new report out of Bloomberg, and they say that there has been a significant increase and the number of young people who now identify as either transgender or non-binary. Are you surprised by the numbers there?

I'm troubled by it. I don't know how much of that is accurate because, unfortunately, a child can make a statement and all of a sudden the public school system can put them into a category where they're having this confusion about who they are and what they are. And then I myself, for the first time, saw these liberals on TikTok about a month ago and was absolutely against watching teachers, school teachers, have conversations with their students saying, well, you know, when you're born, the doctor takes a look at you and makes his best decision about whether you're a little boy or a little girl. but sometimes they can make mistakes.

Well, I disagree very strongly with that statement, and I have a big problem with teachers, again, having these kinds of conversations with children. People want, when their children go to school, they want them to be safe. They want them to get their education, their math, their reading, their science skills. They are not looking for these teachers to start having conversations with them about sexuality. And quite frankly, if you feel compelled to have conversations with children about sexuality, you're not a teacher.

You're a pedophile. Congressman, I want to play some audio for you. This is actually from Libs of TikTok just over the weekend. This is a grade school teacher talking about how she finds affirmation from her children in the classroom. Let's listen.

I've been wanting to do this for the past two years.

Sorry, I'm like so emotional. And I just haven't had the courage to do it out of fear of judgment, mostly from their parents. But I had these kids in fourth grade and now I have them in sixth and I'm sending them to middle school and I love these kids so much and I trust them and they make me feel safe and I know they love me and just felt right. And I, I did it, and it was so beautiful. They had so many questions, which I loved.

They wanted to learn, and they wanted to learn about me, and they were so eager, and a few of them clapped, which was so precious. I mean, Congressman, this is a schoolteacher finding affirmation from her students. she's outing herself to her own students in a public school classroom. This is strange, and it is disturbing, and she should be removed from the classroom. And as you said, for the teacher to be looking for affirmation and support from the fourth and fifth and sixth graders and having those discussions, this is not about education.

That's what I call pedophile. Congressman Matt Rosendale from Montana on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. Congressman, from your vantage point up on Capitol Hill, is there anything that Congress should be doing here, or should this be solely a local school district issue? I still believe in local school districts, Todd. I mean, I really believe that people continue to look at the federal government to solve their problems.

And quite frankly, the federal government is not great at solving problems. They've created a lot of problems. But we are supposed to be here to protect our borders and to make sure that we can have commerce exchanged back and forth across the nation. And guess what? We have really failed miserably at those two jobs.

That's why I'm even up here. I came in, as you know, as a freshman last year and trying to get the train back on the rails, if you will. But those things need to be addressed by the local school districts and by the state superintendent. This is why we're seeing a lot more people homeschool their children. This is why we're seeing a lot more people across the nation that are seeking out and running for these local school board positions because they understand now when we went through COVID, when they started listening in to the classrooms and they were actually educating their children themselves at home, they discovered there was a lot of discoveries made about the grooming and the brainwashing that was taking place across this country.

All right. Well, Congressman, we appreciate you shining a great big light on this. I mean, this is a serious matter, and I think you're right. I think this is why many moms and dads are turning to homeschooling. The numbers are exploding all over America as folks are pulling their kids out of these public school indoctrination centers.

Let me tell you, Todd, I am really just a firm believer that the hard, hard left is trying to destroy our families. They're trying to keep us from practicing our faith, and they're trying to brainwash our children. And everyone needs to stand up and say we not going to tolerate it The emperor not wearing clothes And you can say what you want about me but the truth is the truth And we just not going to put up with it anymore Well, based on that Pride parade footage, folks aren't wearing many clothes in that thing either.

And at first I thought it was the TV show, but this is a national park.

So Yellowstone, there is a place in Yellowstone called Doan's Mount Doan, D-O-A-N-E, Mount Doan.

So Mount Doan is being renamed. The U.S. Board for Geographic Names voted unanimously, that's 15 to nothing, to rename the Wyoming Mountain.

So Doan is named after the famed explorer Gustavus Doan, or Gus. That's a lot easier to say. He was born in 1840, grew up in California, and ended up somewhere over in Wyoming. And everything all right over there, folks? All right, very good.

Just checking. anyway he accepted a commission in the Confederate Army and he was appointed the mayor in Yazoo City Mississippi in 1867 and a year later he got the commission in the army and was appointed a second lieutenant in the U.S. Cavalry so he went back into once the Union after the Civil War he went back to life as usual but that's not why they're renaming it you see I thought that's why Yeah, you would think that would be the catch. Because he was from the Civil War time. But it turns out that apparently he was involved in the massacre of a bunch of Indian peoples.

And that's back when, you know, we were fighting the Indians, cowboys and Indians. Known as the Marios Massacre, 173 American Indians were killed. And then everybody came down with the smallpox. Doan wrote fondly about the attack and bragged about it for the rest of his life.

Well, I guess so. I mean, he's a military guy. He's lived to tell the story.

So they're just now trying to rename this because somebody must have complained. Yeah, because, you know, the Indian people got to whatever. Anyway, they're calling it First People's Mountain now.

Okay. I'm not sure I like that. That's really weird. I'm not sure I like that. Anyway, the name change will be reflected in the geographic, this is ridiculous, the Domestic Names Geographic Names Information System.

That is a mouthful. The park says it may consider additional changes to other derogatory or inappropriate names in the future. Can we just go ahead and just make it official? Anything named after a white guy born before the year 2000, it gets renamed. That's it.

You know what, Grace? I'm going to call an audible. We haven't given away anything in forever. It's been a minute. It has been a minute.

All right, we've been telling you about this great controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest non-Catholic denomination, and they're meeting in Anaheim, California right now. One of the gentlemen that is a candidate for the office of the presidency, his name is Tom Askell, and Pastor Askell is on our Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line.

Pastor, good to have you with us today.

Well, thank you so much, Todd. Delighted to be with you. You know, Pastor, I must say, you guys picked an interesting time to be out there. I think Los Angeles had their big gay pride parade over the weekend, and then a bunch of Baptists show up in town. That must have been quite the scene.

Yeah, I am sure that the scene's not over either. We are seeing protesters already lining up outside. But these things are chosen about seven years in advance, so that was just God's providence. Pastor, let's talk about some of the issues. You know, when people think Southern Baptist Convention, they think, oh, conservative, family values, but things are changing.

And I want to hear the concerns that you have about the current direction of the Southern Baptist Convention. Yeah, well, I've been saying for years that we are going down a bad path, and I don't think it's been at full speed yet, but it is gaining momentum. and that's concerning to me. Back in 2019, the Southern Baptist Convention adopted a resolution affirming critical race theory and intersectionality as useful analytical tools. And I fought against that on the floor of the convention, but the platform shut me down and we just weren't able to prevent the messengers from voting for it.

And even before that, but especially since that time, we've seen these ideologies that of course are all throughout our culture. I mean, we've got moms showing up at school boards fighting against them now because everybody sees it in the culture, but the SPC continues to be soft on it. We tried again last year. We had 1,300 Southern Baptist members of churches, of our 47,000 churches, sign a resolution to repudiate critical race theory and intersectionality, and the platform, the resolutions committee, wouldn't even bring it out to allow the messengers to debate it.

So I feel like it's a time for change in leadership. We have got to come back to the fact that we are God's people, we have a book, and it's our responsibility to represent the Lord Jesus Christ by adhering firmly to that book. There, of course, has there been a lot of headlines over the past couple of weeks, the reports coming out about allegations of sexual abuse. What's interesting, what's different, what makes us very different than what's happening with the Catholics is that there is no church hierarchy within the Southern Baptist Convention. Every church is in fact autonomous, which makes it a little bit different.

But at the same time, you do want to protect people. And these people who are predators, who have been accused or convicted of these crimes, you know, they need to be exposed. How big of an issue is that? Because if you read the newspapers, that's the key issue going into Anaheim. Sure.

Well, of course, it is horrific to know of even one account. And there's been several accounts where women mostly in some youth and children have been sexually abused, and there have been some accounts of that not being handled well, sometimes covered up. And that's not right. That's atrocious. And we need to face the facts.

And what we need to get on the table, first of all, is all the data. We have 47,000 churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. I don't know one pastor in the SBC who thinks sex abuse is okay or not a big deal. It's just not true. And most of our churches and most of our pastors are handling these kind of situations well.

We do have problems, and those problems need to be addressed.

So praise God for everything that has come to light that is true. My concern, however, is, as you expressed very well, we are not the Roman Catholic Church. We don't have a top-down structure. Those 47,000 churches are independent and autonomous. We voluntarily cooperate for the mission endeavors that we want to do together.

We can do better together than than singly. And so you can't look to the bureaucracy that exists because of the things we do cooperate on and say, well, the bureaucracy failed in these ways. What we need is new bureaucracy or more bureaucracy. What we need is to go back to the book and realize that God has told us that churches are to handle sins and the states to handle crimes. God has given authority to the churches with the keys of the kingdom, and that's how we deal with sins inside the church.

And he's given to the state the sword, and that's how injustices and crimes are to be dealt with in civil society. And the church is not equipped to adjudicate crimes, nor is the state equipped to adjudicate sins. And yet it's like we've lost sight of that very basic, very simple teaching that's throughout the Old and New Testament. And one of the things I desire is to see Southern Baptists, pastors especially, because we've got to lead this, come back to that realization and say, you know what, we have everything we need in the book in order to deal with these things the way that we should have been dealing with them, and we can deal with them going forward. Pastor, I know another component of this has been President Trump, and there were many Southern Baptists, I suspect an overwhelming number of Southern Baptists, voted for the president, supported the president, disagreed with a lot of his behavior, but they embraced his policies, and especially, I think an argument can be made, he was the most pro-life president in American history. That being said, there were Southern Baptist leaders, and I know this because at the time I was working at Fox News, there were Southern Baptist leaders who intentionally targeted President Trump and kept poking and poking and poking, and then finally when the president, then candidate Trump, responded, all of a sudden those Southern Baptist leaders became the victims. Is there anything wrong with any Southern Baptist who voted for or supported President Trump?

Well, not because they voted for President Trump. There might be things wrong with them, of course. But here's the reality on that. It was explained to me very simply that about 86% of Southern Baptists voted for Trump. In the postmortem, after Hillary Clinton didn't get coronated as the next president, they were trying to decide what happened.

And they discovered, look, evangelicals, 80 to 86 percent voted for Trump. How in the world?

Well, if I am a political operative on the other side and I'm wanting to make sure that my candidate gets elected and he doesn't get reelected, I'm going to work to shave off that 86 percent by five or six percent in order to make sure my candidate wins. And so I think that is what happened. And, you know, you can look at that politically and say, well, that's just good strategy or whatever. But some of the things that were said by evangelical and especially Southern Baptist leaders, I think, were shameful because they were trying to intimidate Southern Baptist, trying to make them feel guilty for voting their convictions. And I don't know anybody who voted for President Trump thinking that he should be the pastor of the whole nation.

You know, they weren't looking at him for his personal morality failures or other things. They were looking at him for his policies. And you're right. You take his four-year term and measure it against anybody we've had, and is there anyone that was more pro-life than what his administration did?

So there are good reasons to have voted for President Trump, and yet many of our evangelical leaders wanted to make the case that, oh no, if you voted for him, you may not be a Christian. If you voted for him, you need to regret. And that's just ridiculous. It's poor moral reasoning, number one, but it is not their responsibility to attempt to do that, number two. And going back, and of course, maybe we should have seen this, but some of those same Southern Baptist leaders, you know, they were condemning some of our Southern Baptist pastors who had been invited to give counsel, spiritual counsel to President Trump.

They were being condemned, while at the same time, these same individuals were invited into the Obama White House, and they were photographed and promoted the fact that they had an audience with President Obama.

Some of these same people actually invited Hillary Clinton to speak to Southern Baptists in Nashville at a gathering while ignoring actual Southern Baptists like Mike Huckabee who were running for the White House.

So maybe the writing was on the wall all the time there. Smells like a Democrat, probably is a Democrat. Yeah, I agree with you. I mean, there was a lot more political and theological and spiritual going on in those decisions. And again, I mean, that's tragic.

Southern Baptists deserve better than that. and we need new leadership. And I hope that the Lord is going to do that, raise up new people who will come in who do not have that leftist kind of sensitivity and desire to be respected by the culture so much that they will be soft on what the Word of God does actually teach. We pride ourselves at Southern Baptist of being a people of the book.

Well, it's time that we take the book off the shelf and start reading it and doing it again. Pastor, I have covered a lot of political presidential campaigns on the national level, and I have been paying attention from afar what's been happening with this particular spiritual election cycle within the Southern Baptist Convention. And I have to tell you, I have seen more cutthroat politics in the Southern Baptist Convention race than I have in secular politics, and that to me is quite frankly appalling as a Christian. Amen.

Well, it is to me too, Todd. I never aspired to be president of the SBC, and this is what God's done, and I accept it, and I want to win, and I want to do the best I can for Southern Baptists, but the things that I have been exposed to in the process is enough to just turn the stomach of any Christian, and it shouldn't be this way. We should be people who recognize that there's a God in heaven, and we're going to have to give an account to him one day, and if we don't come to terms with that, we're not going to fear God. We'll fear people. And so, yeah, some of that cutthroat stuff has come to me personally, and I'm grieved by it.

But again, we have everything we need by the Spirit of God, the Word of God. We have a crucified, risen Savior. And so my hope's in Him, and I'm trusting Him to lead and direct and to do what is pleasing in His sight. Pastor, is there a role for the Southern Baptist Convention in the national conversation about issues regarding culture, issues regarding life. Oh, absolutely.

And we're the largest process nomination in North America. And we passed the strongest anti-abortion resolution in the SBC's history last summer. But we did so, sadly, only to have our Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission turn around and sign an open letter basically condemning the very elements that were crucial in that resolution whenever the House Bill 813 was in front of the congressional leaders in the state of Louisiana. But yes, and we Southern Baptists want abortion to end. We don't want it to be safe, legal, and rare.

We don't want it to be slowed down. We want it to stop, and we'll use whatever legitimate means we can to bring that to pass, but some of our leaders seem to be embarrassed by that. But we've got to speak for God. One of the things that keeps coming back to me, and I talk to my fellow pastors about this regularly, if we don't speak for God, who will? And culture is downstream from politics, and the church and religion is downstream from culture, or it's the other way around.

The church influences culture, and culture influences politics. And so for the sake of Jesus and the honor that he is due, we need to declare his word. We need to disciple the nations by making disciples of people and holding out everything that he has commanded us to do. It's the church's job to do that. We're not out trying to be Christian nationalists, so-called, but we are Christians who are part of a civil society, and we want to see that civil society prosper for the sake of the gospel.

All right, well, I know we have a lot of Southern Baptists in our audience, and they're all listening intently to what you have to say. pastor when is the vote yeah well there's actually a vote today at 355 for votie balkham my good friend who's running for the president of the pastor's conference and then tomorrow at 320 is when the election for the president of the of the spc which is what i'm running for will be held so any southern baptist within driving distance anaheim become a messenger come out here and help us to change the direction.

So no mail-in balance, is that? No, but what I like to say, just ripping off the Democrats, is, hey, come vote early and vote off.
