Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's favorite gun-totin, Bible-clanging, deplorable American. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Stearns. Oh, yeah.

And hello, everybody. Welcome to the Todd Stearns Radio Show, broadcasting border to border, coast to coast, across the fruited plain. We've got a lot to talk about today. And I'm just curious. To know what in the world is going on in the great state of Texas, the Lone Star State, there's been a lot of squirrely things happening in the state of Texas, chief among them, this seemingly an embracement of Islam and Sharia law, which is very odd, very unusual.

Just the other day, they had a huge rally on the steps of the state capitol in Austin supporting and defending Islam. There are lots of stories around the state involving communities that are embracing components of Sharia law. And I'm beginning to wonder if so many people have moved into the state of Texas from California and other leftist regimes that it's now beginning to change the flavor and the political flavor of what's happening there in the Lone Star. Star State. It's just really mind-boggling.

And one of the centerpieces of this is an Islamic-centered neighborhood, a planned community that centers around Islam and a massive mosque. And the governor's catching fire. Greg Abbott is under fire because of his condemnation of this massive Muslim community that's being built there near Dallas. There are fears of Sharia law. And the project's managers say that's completely unfounded.

However, in areas where Muslims are the majority, and that's predominantly in places like Michigan and parts of New York, Sharia law does become the overarching law of the land. And all of this involves a community. And the question is, should we ban, should there be a federal ban on Sharia law? in the United States of America. That's really the the question here.

Now, the East Plano Islamic Center, that's the community we're talking about. And it is going to be a massive development. The place is called Epic City. They say it's more than a neighborhood, it's a way of life, a meticulously designed community that brings Islam to the forefront.

So that's the entire point of all of this. The video details all the homes, and parks, and sports fields. all against a soundtrack of traditional Moslem music. That dwells on religious themes. The voiceover says our community is designed to foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity for all residents, regardless of their backgrounds.

Now, I would contend, and I would certainly appreciate hearing from the community leaders here, but I'd like to know where in Islamic history Christians and Jews and gay people have actually been accepted by them. I'm just curious because currently they're throwing them off of buildings in the Middle East. I just want to throw that out there.

Now, Texas Governor Greg Emmett condemned all of this and saying, To be clear, Sharia law is not allowed in Texas, nor are Sharia cities. The New York Times quoted a local official who warned the project would lead to honor killings, stonings, and child marriage. as well as a resident who called the project so wrong. Imam Nadeem Bashir, a Florida and Texas native who leads the epic Mos, says it's all a misunderstanding. It's all a misunderstanding.

The Muslim people are very peaceful. It's a peaceful religion. They call it the religion of peace. They say that all of this is based on a clear misunderstanding about Sharia, the Muslim legal code, governing both personal conduct and in specific theoretical conditions that of the society. It's a personal moral code of life.

That's all it is, the Imam said. Standing up for people, serving people, taking care of your family, being honest. This is all part of Sharia. But there are other parts of Sharia as well. And my reading of the Quran tells me that yours truly, Todd Starns, a lover of.

Barbecue. Never met a pig I didn't love, as long as it was a smathered and Barbecue sauce, that I'm an infidel. That I, yours truly, Todd Starns, would be considered an infidel by the Muslim people.

So I'm just curious here, what the heck is going on? in the state of Texas right now. And meanwhile, over in New York City. There are now Muslim communities that have these Muslim community patrols, and these are basically Islamic law enforcement officers. And they drive around in patrol cars that look just like the NYPD patrol cars.

And they're driving through these New York City neighborhoods. They're dressed like cops, driving cars that look just like police squad cars. And according to the local reporting, these Muslim cops are stopping to harass people for things like drinking alcohol. Claiming that this area of New York City is a Muslim area and alcohol is not permitted. Reading in one of the news stories, even other Muslims have raised questions about the need for the patrols, expressing fears it's just another form of Sharia law enforcement.

Now, the Muslim Community Patrol operates volunteer patrols in Brooklyn. Using NYPD-like Ford Taurus vehicles with red and white lights to deter crime around mosques and schools. And by the way, they've been on the patrol since 2018.

So again, I'm just curious here. I remember when I was in Sacramento, there was a huge issue with these Islamic these Muslim community patrols that were going in and harassing business owners of convenience stores that were selling alcohol. If you sold beer, they would come and protest outside of your store because under Sharia law, you're not allowed to drink booze.

So, people are a little concerned about what's going on here, and especially the rise of Islam. In the United States of America.

Now on my Newsmax show just the other day, Um We had Michael Youssef, who is a great pastor, great theologian. He pastors a church in the Atlanta area called the Church of the Apostles. And Michael Youssef tells me that Islam and the rise of Islam is a very dangerous thing, and it will destroy Western civilization. And he says that we need to get a handle on this right now. And he pointed out to what's happening in Western Europe right now: with you've got England pretty much been overrun, Belgium, Denmark, France.

France, there are literally no-go areas where, if you are not a Muslim, you're not even allowed into the neighborhood.

So this is a This is a big, big problem.

Now, Congressman Chip Roy Oh, has been weighing in on this. And he said there are great concerns about Sharia law being forced upon the American people. And I want you to just think about this for a moment. And I want to have a conversation with all you Protestants out there. And well, all you Catholics, too.

Now, you Catholics, you guys are doing a pretty good job of pro-creating. But The Protestants, you guys just aren't having babies. Guess what the Muslims are doing? They're having babies. They're having lots of babies, lots and lots and lots of babies.

And that's the whole point. Because one day they will outnumber all of you Protestants and Catholics out there. Because aside from the Catholics, and I don't know what the average is, well I'm sure somebody keeps tabs, but back in the day, most Catholic families had five or six kids.

Now, the Mormons, yeah, they're popping out babies all over the place. God love you. But the Protestants, like the Baptists and the Episcopalians, and the Presbyterians, you guys are lucky if you're having one kid.

So it really is all about a matter of numbers, and the Islamists are willing to wait all of us out here. And by that, I mean they're just churning out babies. And sooner or later, when they become the majority, this will be an issue. I'm just telling you. Chip Roy saying, I've got some pretty strong concerns about Sharia law.

and whether it'll be forced upon the American people. Roy referenced a massive Muslim takeover of the United Kingdom. And he said he had pretty strong concerns reading from the hill. He had pretty strong concerns about people who want to see Israel's destruction.

Some might say that we've seen that here in the United States, Congressman Roy from Texas said. What are we going to do about that? What are we going to do about that? What are we going to do? Coming to America.

That's what Congressman Roy said responding to a video. And in this video, a man who was elected to the city council in Leeds, England, said: Allahu Akbar. This is a win for the people of Gaza. Talking about his election.

So, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. It is a disturbing situation. Especially with the rise of anti-Semitism in this country. Congressman Roy said it's not good enough to merely ask the Department of Education to consider a definition of anti-Semitism. We should cut off taxpayer funding to all of the elite institutions, poisoning the minds of our children and propagating this despicable behavior.

Which is true, but I am telling you right now, something is going on in Texas, and I don't know if the state. lawmakers are just sleeping at the wheel here. It sounds as though, based on a lot of the things I've seen in the news, that you guys are dealing with an infestation of rhinos in your state legislature. I mean, that's just insane. I'll give you an example.

So, the former House Speaker, a really bad, horrible human being by the name of Dade Phelan. Filed a new bill that would require any so-called altered media to include a government-approved disclaimer. Let me explain what they're doing. They're outlawing memes, political memes. in the state of Texas.

The violation of the bill could come with punishment of up to a year in jail.

Now, a lot of people are saying, oh, this is nuts.

So if you do a clever little meme, for example, yesterday, President Trump was out there. And he said, you know, I heck, I wouldn't mind being Pope. I just love them. He's not even Catholic. They asked him, Who do you think ought to be the next pope?

Well, you know what? I think I'd make a pretty good pope.

So.

So yours truly went out there, and I created a meme that had President Trump dressed as Pope, Pope Donald I. Mar-a-Lago. That would have been considered a crime under this legislation in Texas. What is going on there? Unbelievable.

So, a lot of people are saying this is a blatant violation of the First Amendment, which it is. I mean, the idea that anybody in the government is criminalizing speech, come on.

So, that's where things are going right now in the state of Texas. And I'm curious. I know we have a lot of listeners across the state, and I'm wondering what is going on here, and why are you guys electing rhinos to your statehouse? Nationally, though, ladies and gentlemen, do you believe that Congress should take steps now to ensure that Sharia law is banned in America?

Now I want to say something here. I believe in religious liberty. Within the confines of the Judeo-Christian value system that this country is based on.

Now, I believe that America is a Christian nation. I believe America, our founding fathers, meant for this country to be a Christian nation. Under the Christian con that concept, you are allowed to come here and practice your faith however you see fit.

However, If you take Christianity out of it, then you get some sort of a religious dictatorship. And we've seen this across the Middle East. We see this taking place. Good grief we see it in Ukraine right now, where Vlodymor Zelensky Shut down a lot of Orthodox Christian churches. And why is that?

Because they stood opposed to him.

So he went in and shut them down. I am very concerned about the rise of Islam. around the world, and you should be too. Because there is a very long and ugly and bloody history of Islamists going in and invading countries. And you say, well, Todd, it's the twenty first century.

They don't do that kind of stuff. Really?

Well, I would encourage you to take a long, hard look at what happened on September the eleventh, two thousand one. Got to take a break here. 901-260-5926. We have a great show for you today, folks. Again, 901-260-5926.

And look, here's the thing: you want to come here and practice Islam, you're welcome to do that. That's your right under the Constitution. It is not your right. As an Islamist to set up your own legal system. That's not how America works.

And, ladies and gentlemen, if we are not careful, and a lot of people are afraid to talk about the rise of Islam in this country, and I would strongly encourage you to take a very long, hard look at what's happening right now in the UK, where the future king of England and the future queen of England actually bowed in subservience to the Islamists. This happened a couple of weeks ago.

So you better believe that's going to be happening here in this country. Which is why we've got to keep the Democrats as far away from everything as humanly possible. Oh, I want to say this. And by the way, yesterday we've got some great audio from President Trump's rally in Michigan. President Trump is having the time of his life right now.

And I know that all of the legacy media folks, the drive-bys in the media, they are trying to use these fake polls to convince people that Donald Trump has absolutely no support in this country. I just don't see that. I I do not see it at all. As a matter of fact, I would contend That Donald Trump is actually more popular. Than these public opinion polls suggest.

Meanwhile, the Democrats completely collapsing. What is it? There's one survey out there. Democrats have 17% support right now. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life.

And nobody knows who's actually running the Democrat Party right now. There's a survey that came out. The Center Square, voters. Voter voters voice poll. That's a little Difficult to say.

And they surveyed Democrat voters. Who is the leader of the Democrat Party? 38% said they don't have a clue. They don't know.

So, leading at number one is the answer: none or don't know. When you break it all down. The other possibilities, and I'm talking about. None or don't know leads by an overwhelming landslide victory. The the top five here, Kamala Harris.

You've got Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders. I'll read down the whole list here: AOC, Joe Biden.

So, this is interesting. More people believe that Joe Biden is still running the party. Than Barack Hussein Obama. Only 2% of surveyed voters believe that Barack Obama is actually leading the party right now. That is stunning.

But I'm telling you, something's going on with Barack Obama. He has completely lost all credibility within his own party.

So, the Democrats are in a death spiral right now. All right, got to take a quick break here, folks. 901-260-5926. Our telephone number: 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.

Okay. You know, I I love our president, Donald J. Trump. And he's a kind man, even with those who are confused about their pronouns. And President Trump just always wants the best from people.

So yesterday, the president flew to Michigan. He gave a massive rally, huge turnout. And by the way, again, people standing in line all day to see this man who the mainstream media, the legacy media, the drive-by media says has the lowest approval rating in the history of the presidency. I just, that, I just don't believe it. I do not see any actual evidence.

That would tell me this is actually accurate.

So anyway, the President's he's given a speech, and then one of those pronoun confused people decides to cause a bit of a stir. Take a listen. He was in North Carolina. He did so great. What's the problem over there?

What's the problem? Is that a radical left lunatic? He's just a child.

Alright, get them out, yeah. Oh wait, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, ma'am. I thought it was a guy. Thank you.

Well He goes on to say, and we'll get the longer version for you. He goes on to say that it was an it.

So he called the transgender person an it. But again, the president, he acknowledged, you know, dude, I'm sorry. I thought the lady looked like a dude, you know, but he apologized. I'm sorry, ma'am, or sir, whatever you said. Oh, boy.

Wow. Good for you, Mr. President. All right. We have been on the forefront of a story out of Burlington, Massachusetts.

We were the very first news radio station in the country, News Talks Show, to talk about this issue. We've been talking about it nonstop on my Newsmax show. Burlington, Massachusetts.

So last night, huge rally at the school board meeting, and parents are just simply disgusted with a sex survey that their children were forced to take. It is a graphic, graphic survey.

Now, there were hundreds of parents who showed up at the meeting last night in Burlington, Massachusetts. David Hanafan, one of the parents, he has a seventh grade son. And they've got, he and his wife have a number of children. And he went to the school, I guess, at the start of the school year and said, hey, look, here's the deal. We're not homophobic, we're not transphobic, but we're not going to allow our son to participate, to take part in these kinds of lessons.

And so he opted out. He opted his kid out in advance out of all of this stuff.

Well, it turns out that children were told by the teachers, you're not allowed to opt out. You've got to tell us. You know, and again, this goes all the way to like middle school.

So we're talking what, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade.

So these sixth, seventh, and eighth graders were being told to talk about things like, well, very inappropriate things. Things that we can't talk about on family-friendly radio. Yeah. But let me say this: anybody talking about these things outside the confines of a classroom, they would have been arrested and they would have been charged with child abuse. They could have been charged with all sorts of other things.

That's how heinous these lessons are. Mr. Hannifin said the only thing parents are asking, teach kids to read, to write, math, science, send them home, and we'll take care of the rest. And ladies and gentlemen, I have a question for you. Should our public schools, should any school for that matter, be teaching?

Sex and gender ideology. Do you see in the confines of Sex education does not have any place in our public education system. nine zero one two six zero five nine two six our telephone number, that's nine oh one two six zero five nine two six. I remember back when I was in school back in the 1970s and 80s, and I remember that we did have a sex ed class, but back in those days, boys and girls just kind of figured it out for themselves, right? I mean, for just Hundreds and hundreds of years, it all just sort of came naturally, like the birds and the bees.

Or, if you were like my parents and they didn't want to have those conversations, they buy you books and tell you to read. The photos were shocking. By the way, I have a funny story about that. It was the Time Life series. This is Your Body.

And I got it for my birthday. And so, anyway. I was a budding entrepreneur back then. I don't know what grade it was. It was sometime in middle school.

And I ended up trading the entire book series for some baseball cards. It was great. Mainly, and look, I got some good baseball cards. I think there was even a Pete Rose card in there somewhere, and primarily because of the pictures, the illustrations. We didn't have a lot to do in South Haven, Mississippi when I was growing up.

So, all that to say, back in the day, sex education classes.

So, for the most part, mommy and daddy kind of had the talk with you. You guys remember that? They sit you down and you had the talk. And then you have in high school, you had these sex education classes, and usually they're conducted by the driver's ed teacher. Miss Robiski was our driver's ed teacher.

She loved Popeyes Fried Chicken. We learned to, the first thing we learned to do as young drivers was to maneuver through the drive-through at the Popeye's fried chicken and biscuits. Never forget that. But anyway, Miss Robisky was in charge of Sex Ed, which involved watching these movies. On STDs, and basically they put the fear of Almighty God in us that if you so much as hugged a girl, you were going to come down with a sexually transmitted disease.

And I'm just going to say something, looking back on that period of life. That's not a bad thing. You want to put the fear of God in these hormonally crazed teenagers. I think that's a good thing to do.

Somewhere along the way, though, the how-to class Or the the the don't do class became a how-to class. And knock yourself out. I mean, when you're giving out free condoms at your local high school, I would raise serious questions about what they're doing in sex ed class. Anyway, last night on Newsmax, I was honored to have Mr. Hannafin and his attorney join us, and here's that conversation.

Joining me now is David Hannifin, whose 13-year-old son was subjected to that survey, and Jessica Richardson, Director of Research and Engagement for the Massachusetts Family Institute. David, I want to start with you. Take me through how you found out about that survey and your reaction when you saw what they asked your kid.

Well, I found out, I went to my son's lacrosse practice straight from work, and there was a group of parents sitting in a circle talking about it, and everybody was outraged. Um however I was upset, but I wasn't surprised because this was an issue back in 2023. It was an issue in 2021.

So, at the school committee meeting, they had mentioned the word oversight, and they weren't sure exactly how this snuck through. But I had had specific conversations with people at the school system about this in years past, and nothing's ever changed. David, tell me about the survey. Do we know what kind of a class this was a part of? And were you guys given any opportunity to opt your son out of the class?

I believe it was given in their homeroom. It was across the entire student body.

So the middle school has six, seventh, and eighth graders in it.

So all those kids were subject to the survey. And because of things like this in the survey in the past, my wife and I had gone up to the school and made it very clear that we have a perpetual opt-out for our kids. My wife and I have nine kids. Three of them are in college, but we have two in high school, one in the middle school, and three in elementary school. And this drumbeat of this inappropriate contact.

keeps getting put in front of the kids. And so we made it clear that we want a blanket opt-out. We wrote a letter, we put it in writing, gave it to each of the schools, talked to the superintendent, the assistant superintendent. And when they sent the correspondence out, they sent it out in an app called ParentSquare. And it was sent out about a month before the survey was given.

And it was kind of buried in some other messages, because you get this thing continues to ping you all day long. You get all these messages from the school through this app, and so things can get lost.

So I did not see the notification about the survey when it came through. But my son is aware that he's opted out of these things. And so my Two high school kids, they stood up and told the teacher that they were opted out and they weren't to take it.

So the high school was good about it. They let them go in the library. But my son in seventh grade was made to take the survey. All right, Jessica, I want to bring you into this conversation. Look, the schools, and we've seen this all the time.

They're like, oops, are bad. Oh, we didn't mean to do it. I'm not buying it anymore. I'm not buying it anymore, Jessica.

Well, and I don't think parents should buy it either because nobody should be surprised that when you have the system is so broken that these things don't happen once in a while. And you know, the thing that really got the focus onto what happened in Burlington is the fact that these parents opted their kids out and they were still given the survey anyway. But really, anytime you're giving a survey that contains this graphic type of material, nobody should be surprised if something goes wrong. And so maybe the safest thing is just not to give surveys like this. If you can't guarantee that you're not going to violate parents' legal rights and the rights of their children by ignoring their opt-out, then just don't do the survey at all.

And really, should we be doing surveys like this? I don't think so. Our organization argues no, because there's no data collection that justifies exposing kids to things like these questions, questions about anal sex and sex toys and things like that. We're talking about 11-year-old, 12-year-old kids here. outrageous.

So what sort of legal recourse does a guy like David have when a school completely ignores the opt-out ruling?

So, it's actually a violation of the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment, which is a federal law.

So, our legal center, the Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center, has filed formal complaints on behalf of multiple Burlington parents whose children were given this survey or forced to take this survey after they had opted out. They've also said we've also sent a legal letter to the district, and we have more complaints that are in the works. And so, this is something that we really want the Department of Education to take seriously. And it's a very big issue, it's a huge betrayal of trust what happened to these parents. And this school district needs to be held accountable.

David, I got to give you credit for being calm through all of this. This is insane, what they were wanting these kids to be exposed to. And I'm just wondering why somebody's not in jail over this. It seems to me we're looking at child abuse here. But that's exactly the point.

If my son's hockey coach asked him any of these questions, he'd be locked up. But yet, because they're in school, they think that this is appropriate and they think there's value in it. And to Jessie's point that she made earlier. They need to go away completely because even if they honor the opt-outs, and so you have a kid that's opted out on the survey. And you ask questions like you didn't read the real graphics stuff, but if you have questions like that being put in front of young kids, what do you think they're talking about at lunch or on the school bus on the way home?

It opens up the door to a conversation that is not appropriate for kids of that age. And as a parent, And we raise our kids to do it appropriately.

So, when there's an appropriate time to have a conversation about these issues, we'll have it. That's our prerogative. And it's my job as a parent to teach that to my kids, along with the values that I want them to understand as they learn about these things.

So, some of those questions. The question everybody has is what benefit comes from answering some of the questions, like the harsher ones you didn't read. And I, for the life of me, can't figure it out, nor can anybody else. Yes, Jesse, I want to give you the last word here. There may be parents watching all across the country, maybe they're experiencing something like this in their school district.

What guidance do you give them?

Well, I think this is a great reminder of why it's so important that parents are engaged and that they pay attention. You know, the survey that came up in Burlington is something that's used in this county in Massachusetts, but it's an extension of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which is a federal survey. And so this could happen anywhere. And this is something, you know, parents have to pay attention to those notifications that get sent home. But more importantly, you know, just call your school, find out, is my school giving surveys like this?

If so, why? And, you know, can we? You can opt your kids out, but how do I opt my kids out? And more importantly, you know, how do we look at removing this survey altogether?

Well, it sounds like a lot of perverts need to lose their jobs in that school district, to be perfectly blunt about it. And they do. And we certainly appreciate that dad, that brave dad, standing up and speaking out.

So my question, ladies and gentlemen, as we go to break, should we start holding these teachers accountable? when they do this, should they be charged with sex crimes against children? Because you can't unring that bell, ladies and gentlemen. You can't do it. But the idea they're talking about things like anal sex and sex toys.

with children. Those people ought to be in jail. 901-260-5926, going to your calls when we come back. All right, let's go to the phone lines here at 901-260-5926. Anna in Dahlonagan, Georgia.

Great town. Hi, Anna. What's going on? Yeah. Hello, Ty.

I think that um that you were asking about how we felt about um Yeah. Yeah. teaching sex in school. And there was a time where Um it was taught many, many years ago on Uh where it was just a very medical What I want to say is very specific about the birth. of children, stuff like that.

and how they're birthed and the whole thing. But now It is, it's completely out of control. Yeah. Um Yeah. is kids are learning a distorted idea of what Someone.

Uh well Thank you. Houses. Yeah, and it does. I mean, I know adults do these things, but they don't need to pass them on to the kids. This is just very disturbing.

I have grandchildren and I can't. can't imagine. Where they go to school is very, very concerned. And yeah, but a lot of these City schools, they're just given a path on a lot of this stuff, and this is just. not good for the kids.

They don't have Yeah. clinical What Alright. Um what this is about. Out. No, they don't, Anna.

And I'll just say this: I knew things were going south when they started bringing in the cucumbers and the bananas into the sex ed class. And all of a sudden, it became a how-to assignment as opposed to. To a don't do. And that's the thing that really bothers me is that really we're within the context of that radical sex and gender culture, it in and of itself has become this sort of theology. And so now you're teaching kids in, and they're going all the way into preschool now, not on the sex ed stuff, but on the gender stuff.

And they're just trying to confuse the kids. Anna, God bless you. Thank you for calling in. Let's go to John in Kentucky. Hey there, Todd.

Great show. I want to go with this from a military standpoint. War was declared on our children when they took prayer to school. War has been declared on us. from the National Education Association.

And as your colleagues said, they are breaking federal law. If the if the if the Department of Justice can arrest federal judges, which I think is amazing. Then I believe that the President or the Department of Justice has every right in the world to arrest even these Board of Education members. As well as the teachers allowing this. Just they declare war on us.

Time to declare war on them. And also, these preachers and pastors need to start talking about this from the pulpit. Don't be so heavenly-minded. You're no earthly good. Great show, Todd.

Love you.

Well, thank you, Pastor John. Always pithy with your comments. And yeah, I'm with you. Let's start having the preachers speak out. Moms and dads, you need to be heading up to those local school boards.

But I'll tell you this: I do remember, where was this?

So there was a town, and that's how they started doing it. They would use the cucumbers and I think maybe even some squash, some summer squash in sex ed class. The next thing you know, the next day down at the Piggly Wiggly at the produce section, you couldn't find any squash or cucumbers anywhere. What was going on? They even ran out of those little midget gherkins.

I don't know what that's going to do. I really don't know what that's about. All right, we've got to take a break here, folks. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

Jeez a loop. We'll be right back, America. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. That's right. I love this American ride.

All right, what is it like? 60 people now, 60 or 70 people over the past two weeks in Memphis have either been shot. I think 20, 25 now people killed. Oh, it's just. I mean, it's basically business as usual here in the Bluff City.

But there was a fascinating story out of the Memphis Zoo. And I know that San Diego, you guys have a great zoo out in San Diego, but I've got to brag about the Memphis Zoo. The Memphis Zoo is freaking. Awesome. It really is.

And Dylan, I know that you've been to the zoo before. I mean, it's a lot of fun, and it really is one of the most recognized zoos in America. Yeah, we have a great variety of animals. It's just a good environment to be in. And the tigers and the lions and all of that stuff.

Yeah. Do we have elephants? I think we have. We do have elephants. All right.

We have three. All right, pumas. Mm-hmm.

So, anyway, it's one of the top zoos in America, and they're having some problems right now. They recently announced that they've suffered a 20% drop in attendance at the Memphis Zoo. And they say most of that is because people who live in the suburbs of Memphis are no longer going into the city for the zoo experience.

So much so, by the way, and they're saying it's a 20% drop in attendance. And it doesn't make any sense because the zoo is they've been growing, they've been putting in new exhibits, and they have all these uh beautiful animals. Do they have the panda bears? I love the little cuddly panda bears.

Well, that's a sore subject to talk about. Did China take them back? Yeah, China took them back because they're going extinct. Chinese bastards. I know.

But we did have a beautiful panda. That was my favorite. They're cute, cuddly things. I know. Are those ones that eat humans?

No, that's the polar bears. The polar bears will eat you. Oh, they hate you. They hate you. I was reading somewhere yesterday.

Polar bears are the only animal that instinctively wants to eat humans. Yeah. It's really weird. Because they live in the ice. Yeah, this is why I don't go anywhere north of Minnesota.

I just want to stay away from that because I'm prime rib. Yeah, and they're huge. They are huge. But they do drink Coca-Cola, so. You gotta give them credit.

So anyway, so the folks at the zoo went hand in hand to the Memphis City Council and they said, hey, look, we got problems here. We need we're coming up short. And so they're asking the the city council for $3 million. And I mean, I like that. I think that's I mean, when you consider When you consider all the things in Memphis that we should save, I would say the zoo.

Is one of the top things we should save here because people from all over America come to the Memphis Zoo and And by the way, it really is safe inside the zoo confines, right?

So you're good there. But they've got all sorts of new exhibits. For example, a hands-on. They have like hands-on interactive zoo things now.

So, like, you know, you go to the tiger exhibit and you can like put your hand in this hole. You know, do you still have a hand? No, I'm just kidding. But you can touch the stingrays. They have sharks and stingrays.

That's cool. They've got a fourteen acre African exhibit starting next year and a three story oceans to forest exhibit. This is really kind of cool. They've got a rainforest, a shark tank, a reef tank.

So they've got all these fun, cool things. And by the way, it's the one of the best freaking zoos in America. In my estimation, it's number one.

So, anyway, they said we need three million dollars. And City Hall said, nope. Can't do it. We're not giving you any money. City Hall just bought a dilapidated hotel downtown.

City Hall spends Hundreds of millions of dollars on things that make absolutely no sense. They're not even giving the police department a raise. You've got Memphis. As a matter of fact, the police officers in Memphis are some of the lowest paid police officers in all of America. It's really unacceptable.

So, anyway, people are really fired up about this, and they don't want the zoo to shut down. I hope the zoo doesn't shut down. But the fact of the matter is, people are not coming into the city because of the crime. Yeah. And they don't want to talk about this.

You've got all these restaurants, some incredible restaurants that I know Memphis is known for its barbecue. We got a great barbecue, and I mean, we have the best barbecue in the world. Right? I mean, that's not even up for debate. And for you folks in Texas, it's brisket.

That's not barbecue, that's brisket, right? We're talking about. Barbecue is pork.

So Again, we got great barbecue, but we also have other great restaurants, and it's really an incredible food scene.

So many. Restaurants are shutting down and going out of business in the downtown area. And the reason, and nobody wants to talk about this, they'll whisper about it, but many of the people who own these restaurants are a little to the left, and they just don't want to be accused of being.

Well racist. And I So so they just go quietly into the good night.

Now, I would contend that the crime problem In Memphis is twofold. First of all, you've got parents that are not raising their children. Many of these kids are coming from homes where there's only one parent and they're not even raising their kids. The second part of it is the culture. I mean, when you look at the culture at large, and I'm not talking about black, white, Hispanic, I'm just talking about the culture.

The culture in America celebrates lawlessness. The culture celebrates gun violence. The culture celebrates thievery and acting like idiots. That's what the culture celebrates in America right now.

So, you've got to contend with that as well. Then, we have one of the most leftist city councils in all of America, and we've got to contend with that. You have people on the City Council that make AOC look like Mitt Romney. I'm telling you, it's insane. Then you've got an education system that's failed.

Over 70% of the kids in Memphis schools can't even read. It's insane.

So, you've got all these components here, all of these things that tell me we've got problems. These are solvable problems, but we've got problems. But I think I may come upon a solution here because I'm concerned about this, Dylan. I love the animals. And, you know, the Bible tells us that we've got to be good stewards.

We've got to look after all the little critters. Except for the snakes and the tarantulas and Possums. Did you say possums? I said wasps. Oh, wasps.

Hornets, yellow jackets. Yeah, you got to. I'd rather except for those. Yeah, except for those. Just shove those aside.

And ticks. I don't like ticks. This is a blood sign. Fire ants. Oh, fire ants, too.

We could go on. I got a lot of questions for the Lord when we get to heaven. I'm like, what's what's what's over the fire ants? Really?

What's up with those big red ants that have like the big prongs? In Texas, they have like monstrous like killer ants. I've I've never seen anything like it.

So anyway, I think I've come up with a solution here.

So we've got a a big problem. First of all, we've got massive crime In Memphis. And then we've got this massive budget shortfall at the Memphis Zoo.

So here's my thought. We go to the highest crime areas of Memphis. All right. And we take The zoo animals, we'll do the lions and the tigers, and we set them loose. We set them loose in the highest crime areas of Memphis.

And I think we basically kill two birds with one stone, right?

So you've got, you won't have to worry about the criminals because they become supper. And you don't have to worry about feeding the lions and the tigers because they just had a delicious meal. I You know what? You're welcome, Memphis City Council. He's hungry.

Mm-hmm.

And by the way, they can have seconds. In some of those neighborhoods, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet. And all-you-can-eat buffet of criminals. Can a lion fit in a squad car? You put him in the back seat, yeah.

Let's put a lease on that thing. Go get him, Tony the Tiger. Go get him, boy. Hakota Matata, baby. Yeah.

I love this idea. What a great idea. You know what, City Council, it's yours. Feel free to take my idea and run with it. All right, we've got a lot going on.

President Trump went toe-to-toe with ABC News yesterday. We're going to play some of that audio coming up. Also, Senator John Kennedy out of Louisiana has some thoughts about. About AOC 901-260-5926. Do you like my idea?

901-260-5926. This is the Todd Start Show. All right, again, the Democrats in a tailspin right now, and they have no earthly idea who their leadership is. Here's Senator John Kennedy from Louisiana.

Well, I think Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is the leader of the Democratic Party today.

Some might say Senator Schumer. But Matt Schumer's at a 17% approval rating today. 17. Democrats are in the 20s. Yeah.

I think it's Congresswoman Ocesio-Cortez. And as I said before, she's entitled to her opinions. Um You know, my personal opinion is that God gave her a A billy goat brain and a mockingbird mouth. You know, I mean, look, I believe in the power of ideas. And my Democratic colleagues have no ideas.

All they have is hatred. for one man. even when he's right. And that's President Trump. And I don't think that's healthy for them.

I don't think that's healthy for America. Yeah, she's got a billy goat brain and a mockingbird mouth.

Well played, Senator Kennedy. Yeah. By the way, Michelle Obama is making some headlines. She's doing this podcast, and every episode has fewer and fewer viewers.

So I didn't see this when it came out. But I had to run it down just to make sure it was accurate because you never know now with AI and all of that kind of stuff. But we were able to verify the authenticity of this comment from Michelle Obama.

So she was sitting down on a podcast. She was doing an interview with a guy that's a black dude that's raising a transgender child. And the voice you're going to hear is that of Big M, Michelle Obama. And I want you to see, I want you to listen very closely. And make sure that you hear what I think I heard.

Which could be major breaking news. I wanted to talk, Marlon, a bit about um. you know, just so proud of how you are being a role model for dealing with a child that's transgender. Absolutely. And that's, you know, that warms my heart, particularly as a black man.

Uh I'm sorry, what? What Did I hear that correctly? Yeah So I just want to make sure that I'm hearing this correctly. Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of these great United States, says, You've raised a trans kid that warms my heart as a black man. Can we play that just one more time?

I wanted to talk, Marlon, a bit about you know, just so proud of how you are being a role model for dealing with a child that's transgender. Absolutely. And that's, you know, that warms my heart, particularly as a black man. All right. Well, there you have it.

Michelle Obama, ladies and gentlemen, making some sort of an earth-shattering announcement. By the way, Snopes now has the headline out: Michelle Obama is not transgender.

So that coming from Snopes. They're defending. Barack Obama's wife, alleged wife, I guess now. I mean, based on the comments, I I'm just I we just share the news and we report the news. without fear or favor.

Ladies and gentlemen. Um all right.

So I've got to play this. Donald Trump did it, sat down with ABC News, Terry Moran. I've known Terry for a number of years. We were actually we worked together. He was ABC correspondent.

I was at Fox back in the day when we were on the political trail together. And good guy. I mean, nice enough guy, but he's a lefty. They all were, by the way. All of them.

I can tell you this. Out of all the people covering the Obama campaign that year, This is 2007, and there was another Fox person covering it as well. All of them, all of them. were lefties. All of them worship Barack Hussein Obama.

All of them. So anyway, Trump is doing a sit down interview in the Oval Office with ABC News. And Terry Moran would not let go of these questions about whether or not he was going to fire Defense Secretary Pete Hankseth. Take a listen. A very good defense, hopefully a great defense secretary, but he'll be a very good defense secretary.

You have 100% confidence in anything. I don't have 100% confidence in anything.

Okay, anything. Do I have 100%? It's a stupid question. Look, it's pretty important to me. I have...

No, no, no. You don't have 100%. Only a liar would say I have 100% confidence. I don't have 100% confidence that we're going to finish this interview. Yeah.

Trump should have just gotten up. You know, as a matter of fact, actually, I do have 100% confidence. We are not finishing this interview. Goodbye. Goodbye.

Goodbye. So, anyway, Trump went on to troll Terry Moran, cut number five. Do you think Vladimir Putin wants peace? I think he does, yes. I think he does.

I think even though he's not. I think he really his his his dream was to take over the whole country. I think because of me, he's not going to do that. Do you trust him? Do you trust him?

I don't trust you. I don't trust a lot of people. I don't trust you. Look at you. You're coming all shooting for bear.

You're so happy to do the interview. I am. And then you start hitting me with fake questions. You start telling me that a guy uh whose hand is covered with a tattoo doesn't have the tattoo. You know, I mean, you're being dishonest.

No, and to that point, and I'll play this coming up in just a moment because Trump and Moran went at it over the MS-13 tattoos.

So now, look. The media is pulling a Hunter Biden here on this Abrego Garcia guy, the Maryland man who was shipped off to El Salvador, his home country. And the media is trying to convince you that it's not a real story.

So we're going to get into more of that when we come back from the break. But I'm telling you, Trump is in rare form these days. He is literally crushing it. All right, 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926.

Well, Starbucks is in the throes of controversy. Starbucks has updated its dress code. for their baristas. And all you know what is breaking loose. And a lot of the and for whatever reason, they they usually hire a lot of woke leftists to work at Starbucks.

I don't know why. Maybe they make a good cup of coffee. I do not know.

So anyway, Starbucks has updated its dress code. Normally you have to go in, and I suppose I haven't been in a Starbucks in years. I don't like burnt coffee, and I would just rather drink my coffee at home. A lovely cup of smoking hot Pecan praline flavored community coffee. Mm mm.

And I don't get the attitude, right? And nobody misspells my name.

So anyway, uh Starbucks says that moving forward all the baristas will have to have a dress coat. You've still got to wear the green apron, but you have to wear a solid black top. whether that is a crew neck sweater or a collared shirt or a button-up shirt, and you have to wear pants. Apparently, that was a problem. Who do you?

And the pants have to be any shade of khaki, black, or blue denim. The change goes into effect on may twelfth and aims to simplify color options and enhance the visibility of the iconic green apron.

So there you have it. That is the new rule, the new regulation. They're at Starbucks. And it has caused Chaos. I want you to listen to these woke Starbucks employees, and they're literally having a meltdown because the company is telling them how they should dress while on the clock.

Something that Starbucks loves to do is allow partners to be themselves or whatever that PR that they want to push. I don't understand how that's in good faith of letting us express ourselves. I don't understand how that's supposed to embody craft and culture and bring us back to that coffee house. Kind of vibe that Starbucks is asking for because for some reason you all can't understand how to schedule more people in a zone. You can't understand that people aren't clicking on a link.

Oh no, you can't. Understand that it's not appropriate to tell someone that they are okay, that they should be doing the work of four people, that's disrespectful. How often do I see you actually on the floor and actually helping instead of going against things that help us? When your partners are saying, I need you, I need help, sorry, we're busy, I'm doing admin, sorry. This is.

Not a legal action that Starbucks is taking by unilaterally deciding what the dress code is going to be. And then completing this.

So a feedback session where the dress code's already created and we're just expected to let out some steam and still excitement lying down.

So what happens is that any of these partners feel manipulated by all of you all who are all continuing to push this agenda on us. And that's all I really offer. Oh, all right.

So there you have it. They're very upset. The union representing Starbucks Workers, they actually have one, it's called Starbucks Workers United. And they say that the dress code restricts employees. What was the phrase they used?

They're not letting us express ourselves.

Okay, is is that the point of of Starbucks, though? Letting the baristas express themselves? Is that why is that why Starbucks is in business from border to border, coast to coast? Airport to airport. Is that the reason why?

So that the Starbucks workers can. express themselves?

Now I don't know about you, but if I were to go into a coffee shop and I was being served by somebody who was not wearing pants but was wearing an apron, I would have a few questions. I would probably turn around and walk out. Does that make me a bad person? Does that make me an unkind person? The Starbucks Workers United Union released a statement on X.

I want to read this to you. Starbucks workers are racially diverse, disabled, queer, and trans. We need a dress code that allows us to show up as our full selves at work. What what does that even mean? The union represents more than five hundred fifty unionized stores in the U.

S. They claim before this new policy they have been fighting for a contract to expand the original dress code.

So I'm just going to go out on a limb here. and suggest that maybe, just maybe, Starbucks had a problem with the way people were dressing, and maybe they were showing up for work wearing inappropriate attire, or maybe no clothes at all. We know how the the the queer trans people are. Maybe, just maybe they didn't want somebody coming into work one day wearing the beautiful. Yeah.

The beautiful green apron. And a matching thong. Nobody wants to see a thong, especially before you've had your first cup of coffee in the day. Come on, man, what's wrong with you?

So maybe that's it. Maybe the Starbucks workers want to wear thongs to the office. I don't know. But it just seems to me here that Starbucks has every right to have a dress code. According to some HR workers While some may not like the uniform change, there are others who feel the opposite.

Some people may like the new uniform changes and feel part of a collective. A study done in twenty twenty two in the UK found that well made and well fitted uniforms did have positive effects. All they're asking is for people to wear a black shirt and pants. That's it. That's all they're asking here.

So again, don't be surprised if they file a lawsuit here, but these Starbucks workers are some of the worst. They are woke triggered Gen Zers. Yeah. And folks, I don't know about you, I can't handle that before I've had at least two cups of coffee in the morning. But again, it's, you know, you have an office, you own a company, you have a right to determine how people dress.

What their attire should be when they come into your office. I mean, it really is that simple. All right, 901-260-5926. Do you have a problem here with what Starbucks is trying to do, ladies and gentlemen? 901-260-5926.

Gary in Florida, listening to us on WOCA, wants to. Weigh in on Michelle Obama. Gary, what's going on? It's Hey, thanks for taking the call. First, my quick Starbucks comment.

Is that until I can be assured that no face piercings are going to fall on my costlets? I can't uh go there.

So that I'm the dress code set aside, I More worried about the uh An eyelid piercing or something falling in my closet.

Well, that's a fair concern. Look, that's a very fair concern, Gary. Yeah. And I'm I'm the Solar Bama. becoming telling people she's non political now.

It's pretty rich of her to say that uh immigration enforcement Is racist because it goes after people of color and it keeps her up at night. Like it's a. She can't get any sleep. And I found that I went back and watched some of the clips of her husband when he was deporting mister Obama, deporting a lot of his immigrants. illegal immigrants.

And not once did she mention that she was ashamed or feared that it was targeting people of color.

So it's it's again, see uh poster uh head out and it gets chopped off because it's And she throws it and she never mentioned uh uh trafficking of people of color. And on how cutting back on that saves lives or the drugs. killing people of color.

So it's just It's quite rich if her on that podcast.

Well, and Gary, I mean, Gary, the fact of the matter is her husband was responsible for deporting millions of illegals, which we salute Barack Hussein Obama for. We appreciate that. Anywhere from 3 million to 11 million of the numbers being thrown around. But regardless, her husband has deported far more illegals than Donald J. Trump has.

Yep. I appreciate your time, Todd. All right, Gary, thank you for calling in. 901-260-5926. Gary is right.

You don't want to have the heavily tattooed people and the piercing people, and you don't want to have an eyelash. But if you got people working at Starbucks and all they're doing is wearing like, I don't know, a butt thong, then you've got other issues. I mean Yeah. That may not be an eyelash. It may not be an eyelash in your matcha creme frappuccino.

I'm just saying. All right, we got to take a quick break here, ladies and gentlemen. 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Starred Show. All right, let's go to the phone lines.

Sue. Hi, Sue. What's going on? Well, I just found out today when I went to Starbucks to get a lemonade because I don't drink coffee. that if you hand the person the tip, they keep it themselves.

But if you put it in their jar, at the end of the week. amongst all the people who work. Is that right? Yeah, that's what the girl told me because I put it in the bucket And I said, do you get that at the end of today? And she said, no.

It gets divided at the end of the week by everybody who's worked that week. She said, if you hand it to me, I can take it. And it's mine.

So I d I didn't know that. Sue, I've never yeah, I wasn't aware of that policy. And again, I haven't been to Starbucks in years. I really haven't. And I typically do not tip myself when I make my cup of coffee in the morning.

Well, when I I have a granddaughter who works at Starbucks in another town. They hand her when she works the window, they hand her a tip. But I also found out that Taco Bell, they ask you if you want to round up. And their Roundup program goes to fund Um college students. who work at Taco Bell.

I've started rounding up.

Well, that's nice. Yeah, I I that's a great idea. I'm curious, though, Sue. You know, Starbucks putting out this dress code where now you're going to have to wear a black shirt and pants. How do you feel about dress codes at the workplace?

I think that's a wonderful thing because you don't have to think about what you're going to wear, whether your pink shirt goes with your orange pants or you know you have to wear tan. Blue jeans or black for pants.

So why wouldn't you? Yes, I don't understand. The black shirt is a little iffy because you can't find that at a thrift store. very often.

So a white dirt might be better, and it would go better with green.

Well, I think Starbucks is just wanting their green their green aprons to pop. That's ultimately what this is is all about. And I get it. I mean, it's their brand. Kind of like if you work at Chick-fil-A, you're going to be wearing the khaki pants and the the red Chick-fil-A shirt.

Yeah, I don't know. I don't go to Chick-fil-A. I can't afford it. Oh, I tell you, the Lord's chicken. It's going up, isn't it?

Oh, absolutely. Even the Dollar Tree store.

Now it's selling things for five dollars. And they're going to raise their prices by fifty cents.

So it's going to not be the dollar tree, it's going to be the dollar seventy five tree. Mm. Wow. Wow. Sue, we could go on and on about the price of things, but thank you for calling in.

By the way, I stopped in. We had a big going away bash for Ben Dieter over at a great pub. What was the name of that pub we went to yesterday, Dylan? Brookhaven Pub. Brookhaven Pub.

And the food, I saw everybody was ordering food, having a good old time. I heard you guys stuck around for trivia. Is this true? This is very true. Yeah.

And it's first time that we've done this, and it was fun. Yeah. So on what Tuesday nights they do Trivia Night where you can I mean, it's a hugely popular outdoor pub right around the corner from our um Our building. And a lot of people, most of the people there that were there at seven, they participated.

So I felt obligated to. To try it out. Very nice. Very nice. Can I just say?

We We started and by the almost end of it, we were in 14th place, which is not good. 14th place is not good, but they asked a wager question, which was: 20 points if you get it right, and then you lose 20 points if you get it wrong. And we basically guessed. And we got 20 points. We got it right on the dot.

So how did your w w wind up for the night? We got seventh place. Hey, not too bad. Yep. You needed me there for the political question.

We a hundred percent did because everyone in the table is like, We need our star political person here. I got you covered. Yeah. Should have given you a call, but we couldn't use our phones. I'm good for Andy Griffith, and everybody loves Raymond questions, too.

Yeah. We'll give you a call for the next one. All right. Next time I'm there. That was fair.

All right. I have no idea why I brought that up, but excuse me. I am. I'm shocked by this story from the Today Show. Many of you Send your kids to childcare.

So you work, and there's a daycare, and you send your kids to daycare or child care. And there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of people do it.

So, anyway, these child care workers are now speaking out about some of the crazy. Requests you're getting from these helicopter mobs. And this is just insane stuff. And they're going and they're revealing all of this information on TikTok.

So according to one one daycare worker, She says they are getting unhinged requests from these moms now. One mother actually told the staffers to mix all of their child's food with breast milk. But they did not provide the mom did not provide the breast milk.

So the implication was that somebody on this taff was going to have to Yeah. Pony up the milk. Another woman said, I had a parent ask me to count how many string beans. Her child ate for lunch. One mom texted me while I was in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism.

Because her five-year-old son wasn't given his lovey at nap time. Is that like a little banky, I guess? Is that what the lovey is? Had a parent say their kid couldn't eat our food because it's too processed.

Meanwhile, she packs her kid Kraft Mac and Cheese every day for lunch. One dad stood on top of the cubbies and did a backflip off in response to me saying, This is the children's class. He said he pays enough intuition and can do whatever he wants. That daycare has since blocked parents from entering the building. Oh, here we go.

One mom said we weren't allowed to label anything with the toddler's name because she didn't want her child to get kidnapped.

Well, you certainly don't want your kid to get kidnapped. But, Dylan, this is perhaps the most disgusting. Story of them all. Apparently, one daycare had a child, and the child had digestion issues. That's tough these days, right?

I mean, with all the gluten-free stuff and, you know, whatnot. I get that. But anyway, the mom Asked daycare workers to, I guess, the kid was a big fan of fried chicken or some other chicken tenders.

So they asked the daycare workers to take the chicken tenders for the child's lunch. and chew up the chicken tender and then feed Yeah. Feed that chicken tender to their child. They mama bird this child? They mama bird him.

Lord. They mama burdened the child. This is so disgusting. What is wrong with all these parents? This is obscene.

All that to say, there's no way I could ever be a daycare worker.

Okay. One parent wanted them to start toilet training her son at three months old. They said, don't even get me started on that. I hear you. I hear you.

All right. All that to say, thoughts and prayers for all you daycare workers out there. Goodness gracious. All right, we've got to scoot out, take a quick break coming up. Insanity in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The entire Republican Party and apparatus is coming undone. We're going to tell you all about that. 901-260-5926, our number. That's 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Starge.

Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's America's conservative blowtorch. Sam. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd starts.

Oh, yeah. Well, hello, everybody. Welcome to the show. Great to have you with us today. There is a weird story and Dare I say scandal?

Unfolding right now in the Commonwealth of Virginia. And this could threaten to undo all of the great work that's been done by Republicans. And it is a bizarre story. Our good buddy Jeff Katz is on a plane, and I believe he's just getting off that flight.

So we're going to try to connect with Katz a little bit later on. He's the afternoon drive host at WRVA. in Richmond. and knows all of this all of this story. And I just I have a question for you.

Yeah. Is it okay for Republicans to run an LGBT candidate. Because that does seem to be at the heart of this controversy.

So, Governor Glenn Youngkin. is now demanding that John Reed, who is a GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, is demanding that John Reed abandon his bid for the lieutenant governorship. And there are allegations that Reid apparently reposted lewd photos on social media. But said the decision ultimately is up to John. As a matter of fact, we've got some of that audio.

Here is the governor of Virginia. One of the reasons why I called John last Friday morning was because these kinds of situations where there is just a historical recognition that Social media and explicit social media content like this is a distraction. It's a distraction for campaigns and it's a distraction from people paying attention to the most important issues. And here we are today talking about fentanyl and saving lives and the distraction is present. And that's why I called him on Friday morning and that's why he and I had a very serious personal conversation and the decision is John's and up to John.

All right. So, again, this is a conversation that should have been had in private, in my estimation. It's not a surprise or a secret that Reed is openly gay. He has been a longtime radio host in the Richmond area, and he unexpectedly secured the nomination when his rival dropped out of the race because of heart problems.

So, to help us figure out what's going on here, let's go to our old Glory Bank newsmaker line. Say hello to our good friend Jeff Katz. Jeff, good to have you with us today. Oh, it's great to be here, Todge. Thanks for reaching out.

So, look, man, this is a mess. Oh, this is an absolute mess. And in baseball terms, this is what they call an un. Forced. Hello.

This is an absolutely ridiculous situation, but what you need to know, there's a lot of stuff as there usually is going on behind the scenes. And there were some people who were not very happy with the fact that John had secured the nomination, not related really to the fact that he was gay, but to because He was not the best fundraiser. The gentleman who dropped out, Pat Harrity. is from Northern Virginia, the last elected Republican in all of Fairfax County. And he was a he was a somebody tied into a lot of developers, a lot of very, very wealthy business people.

He was very good at fundraising. And so there were a number of folks inside the GOP establishment who thought, well, that's a good way to go, source some money. And in addition to this, Todd, please remember in Virginia, If you aren't the governor, you can't run for reelection.

So the lieutenant governor essentially starts running for governor on day one. big difference between Jon and Pat. Pat Harity had made it clear He was going to be lieutenant governor. He had no interest in running for governor.

So here's a fundraising machine from Northern Virginia who had no political ambition.

So there were a lot of people inside the establishment who said, wow, he's the way to go.

So let me see if I've got this right. And if I make a mistake here, just please correct me. But the allegations are there was a Tumblr account with the same name that Reed of Reed's, and that within that account, he shared sexually explicit images of men, which, again, you may or may not agree with.

Some people are calling it pornography, but the reality is this is an openly gay man. He wasn't trying to hide anything. And he's alleging basically that a pack connected to Yunkin was trying to extort him to get him to drop out of the race. Exactly. The Tumblr account, depending on who it is that you ask, uh came about either in twenty fourteen or twenty twenty.

It uses a name that is the same as John uses over on Instagram, and it contained a couple of photos. One of the photos was of John attending a rag show as an adult. He wasn't participating in it, he was there in the audience with. A couple of hundred other people, as I understand it, enjoying it. He's been very forceful, by the way, on the air, saying that drag is absolutely not for kids.

It's if you're an adult and you want to go see it, go see it. And then there were some other photos, none of them of John, I should point out. None of them of him naked or in a provocative position, but of other men. And I did have a conversation with John, and John said, I didn't post them. They're not, those wouldn't even be photos that I would be interested in.

And uh John um Again, he has been very open about his sexuality. He's in a long-term relationship, eight years as long as I've known him. He was a colleague for that time, and I must tell you, Todd, he's also a friend. He is. He is a passionate conservative.

He is an unabashedly proud. Christian, and he stands on all the right issues when it comes to politics.

So It is uh it's disheartening to see people go after him. His allegation is that when the governor called him on Friday morning, the governor didn't ask any questions, but rather said, you are going to drop out. There are these salacious photos. John told me that he told the governor, hey, send them to me because I'm telling you, they're not mine. And the next thing, within an hour or two, somebody had leaked the story to a a website in Richmond, and then it was picked up by other sources.

Wow, this is pretty nasty stuff here. I know that conservative evangelicals are getting involved now, and they're jumping on the whole pornography part of it, alleging that this is pornography and we don't need anybody who looks at porn being elected in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Okay, if you're going to go down that path, I hear you and I understand from a Christian standpoint. But are you going to ask that of all the other candidates in the race? This is one of the questions that John raised. He said, you know, are we doing a Because John I must say over and over again, Todd has been as open and honest about who he is, and he has said. You know, honestly, this is his preference or his sexuality, whatever the term is.

But he's not apologized for it. But he's also said, I'm not posting these photos. He has said, in fact, in one of his videos that he released after this, he said, yes, he had. seen porn. And yes, he had been involved in what he termed one night stands when he was younger, but again finds himself now in this committed relationship, very devoted, standing on the right issues.

And he's invited all the other candidates, frankly. If this is going to be the standard, then well, we've got a lot of people to ask, including the members of the legislature. What are their viewing habits? Have they ever seen this? Do they watch that?

And he says that it's only being applied to him because he is gay and he is now the only Uh Openly gay candidate for a statewide office on either the Republican or the Democrat Party labels in Virginia. He's the first. Jeff, and by the way, we're talking to Jeff Katz, host of the Jeff Kantz show on WRVA, one of the top radio talk shows in America. Jeff, I just don't understand Yunkin here. This guy is a shrewd political operative.

He's been talked about as having a possible presidential future down the road. I like the phrase you used. It looks like an unforced error. I don't understand why the ferocity of going after John Reed. Todd, if I had the answer to that, I would share it.

I have said exactly the same thing since last Friday morning. Glenn Youngkin is a He's a brilliant guy. And he was, in fact, behind the scenes, we all knew his next campaign was going to be for President. There were a lot of people talking about him challenging Mark Warner in Virginia for the Senate seat, and it became very clear he wasn't interested. He was going to go to Washington, but he was going as President.

And so this seems bizarre, but it again gets back to Political action committee. It's called the Spirit of Virginia. It is headed up by somebody who is a I guess, political operative is the best way to describe it. He runs campaigns. He makes a lot of money with advertising.

He's been one of the guys getting the hard work done for Glenn Young.

Now he may very well not have liked John. He may not have liked the fact that he didn't seem to have a statewide campaign that he was going to run. Those are some of the things people are throwing around here now. The only out, if you will, for Glenn Young at this point was yesterday he had a statement. He was at DEA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.

They were talking about fentanyl and the rest of it. He, of course, was asked about this. And he had what many are describing sort of as a mealy mouth, you know, I didn't want the we don't want the distraction of this. And universally everybody said, but you're the one who created The distraction. If he were to stand up today, Todd, and say, look, I jumped the gun.

I had somebody on my team tell me about this. I didn't look at the photos. That's on me. You know what? I was worried about us winning statewide, and that's why I called John and man, I shouldn't have done it, acted too fast.

Now let's get behind him. I will tell you that this evening there was supposed to be the first Unity event. And in Virginia, again, we've got an interesting situation. Governor and Lieutenant Governor are not a team. We only elect three state offices statewide: governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general.

Each one of them runs. individually So tonight was supposed to be what was termed a unity event with our Lieutenant Governor, with John, with the Attorney General, with special guests. Governor Younckin to say we're running as a unified team.

Well, that was canceled. The governor's people made clear he's not coming. And then the Lieutenant Governor's people apparently said, well, she's not going to come. And John's holding it anyway. He's going to hold the event.

He's calling it the rally for Reed. But it is it's a mess. And I tell you something, man, it did not need to be a mess. No, it was going to be a tough slog anyway. And I know that Winsom Sears, I believe she is somewhat backing Reed, if that's the latest reading of the statements I've seen.

But you've got a lot of Christian organizations: the Virginia Christian Alliance, the Virginia Family Foundation, now calling for Reed to step aside or disavow his candidacy. It's divided the Republicans, though, because you have all of the D.C. area Republicans that are voicing their support for Reed.

So I just don't, man, this is just mind-blowing. And a lot of people were saying what happened that the election of Virginia was going to be a bellwether for what could happen in the midterms. And, you know, that certainly I don't think that's the case now, especially with all of this. But you know how this is going to look in the media if the Republicans get swept. There's no doubt about that, Sod.

And what happens in Virginia traditionally is we have seen. the non-presidential party Uh elected after the President.

So we have a Democrat that elected President. We have a Republican administration in Virginia. We have a Republican in the White House. We at that first election get a Democrat.

So this time, it throws all of that into turmoil. Lieutenant Governor Sears issued a statement, again, emphasizing, well, we each run independent campaigns. This is up to John, and he's our nominee, but she didn't do anything other than that. And that's left a bitter taste. In a lot of people as well.

And you know, the other thing, Todd, in all candor, a lot of folks, a lot of groups who are now calling for John to step aside have had absolutely no problem availing themselves of appearances on John's show, had no problem with John speaking out passionately on behalf of those issues. John has been at the forefront as a pro-life person forever and ever. He's been speaking out about these That have done these chemical castrations and these genital mutilations. I mean, he again is on all the right sides on all of those issues. And so when he says, you know, it just comes back to me being gay, it is really tough.

to argue with that. And I know him once again, not just as a colleague, but as a friend who has been to our house. Heidi and I think the world of him and still think the world of him. And we'll still happily vote for him and support him. I should have mentioned his website is johnreed4virginia.com if people want to read more.

But he's got all the photos out there. And this stuff, he says, it has nothing to do with him. It wouldn't, I mean, I don't want to be too graphic, but he said, you know, even the types of guys that are posted there, they're not his type. And I'm thinking, well, as long as I've known him, that would be correct.

So it's just twisted. It is a mess. And by gosh, God, we had a tough enough situation without this, and it has just gotten exponentially worse. Yeah, stupid politics, just stupid. Jev, I know you've been on the road.

You just got off a plane, and we're going to let you get your luggage. I appreciate you taking some time to help us work through all of this because this is very quickly going to become a national news story. Yeah, it it it's and it's a ridiculous issue. it just shouldn't be. But I appreciate you looking at it as well, Todd.

I mean, I know you're a consistent conservative. I am. John is.

So and frankly, the governor is.

So it just It's a headset. It's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Jeff Kantz, everybody, on our old Glory Bank newsmaker line.

Jeff, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen. I don't get this one. This is a head scratcher.

So look, it seems to me that whoever is calling the shots in Virginia. They were putting their money on this other candidate. When the other candidate pulled out because of health reasons, they were stuck with John Reed. And because the guy is gay, they're trying to take him out of the race.

Now, look, I. I mean, he. He hasn't tried to hide anything. The guy's been very open about who he is and what he is. And by all appearances, he's been leading a rock-solid conservative life and plans to do that as a politician.

So, my question is: is there room in the party for someone like John Reed, a gay conservative? They're grappling with that issue right now in Virginia, and it could end up leading to Democrats being elected to every major office there in the Commonwealth. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926. We'll be right back.

Got to give a shout out, by the way, to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Here in Memphis, Tennessee.

So the other day there was a terrible automobile collision, a car crash, and officers got to the scene. And a couple of deputies were there. And they realized one of the people involved in the car crash was a pizza delivery guy. And so the poor driver was injured. They rushed him to the hospital, but then they noticed inside the vehicle was the pizza and the two-liter soda.

That did not get delivered.

So, one of the deputies stayed at the crime scene, and the other put the pizza and the two leader in a squad car and made the delivery.

So, well done, deputy. Hugo Boom and Deputy Coons of the Shelby County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department.

Well done, gentlemen. All right, welcome back to the Totserns Radio Show, just mere moments ago. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made a stunning A stunning announcement at the cabinet meeting. Let's take a listen.

Something else we got out of the business of why it wasn't widely reported, or maybe it was. We had an office in the Department of State whose job it was to censor Americans. And by the way, I'm not going to say who it is. I'll leave it up to them. There's at least one person at this table today who had a dossier in that building of social media posts to identify them as purveyors of disinformation.

We have these dossiers. We are going to be turning those over to these individuals. We can follow up with the media stuff.

Well, we are going to turn over these dossiers to the individuals, and they'll decide whether they want to disclose it or not. But just think about the Department of State of the United States had set up an office to monitor the social media posts and commentary of American citizens to identify them as vectors of disinformation when we know that the best way to combat disinformation is freedom of speech and transparency. And so that's what we're going to be in the business of doing. We're not going to have an office that does that. Why am I not surprised to hear this stunning revelation here that the Biden administration's State Department was keeping dossiers on conservatives and people they consider to be vectors of disinformation?

Unbelievable, this development. I want to go right away to our old Glory Bank newsmaker line. Say hello to our good friend. He is from the great state of Indiana, Congressman Marlon Stutzman. Congressman, hope you're doing well today.

Hey, Todd, great to be with you this afternoon. Thanks for having me on. I don't know if you just heard the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, but the idea that the State Department was actively censoring American citizens, this is just unacceptable behavior. It is. It's stunning.

I guess I'd like to say that I'm surprised, but on one hand, after what we have seen over the last four years under the Biden administration, And really over the past several decades, even during the Obama years, this all started then. And then, of course, Biden's not really in charge when he's in the Oval Office, and he's got All of his minions running around doing whatever they wanted to do, really not being held accountable by anybody. But he goes right along with the Democrat and the leftist narrative. That they have political opposition and they are going to use. The federal government as a weapon against anybody who disagrees with them politically.

And to find out that it's this blatant in the State Department It's just astounding. And it's so sad on one hand, but yet it makes it should make every American angry that they would use the federal government against a private citizen of the United States. You know, I know there's a lot of work that you guys have to do up on Capitol Hill, but it just seems to me, Congressman, these kinds of things must be addressed. People need to be held accountable so that other administrations-I don't care if they're Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian-I don't care. We can't have the American government censoring people's speech.

No, you're exactly right. And that's where Jim Jordan, a good friend of mine, comes in as Chairman of Judiciary. Of course, we got Chairman Comer over at Oversight. These guys are busy already. with all of the other findings, whether it comes from the Doge team and the ridiculous spending and the woke ideology that was under the Biden administration, and now this on top of it.

And the other thing too, Todd, that I think really needs to be looked at, and me and some of my colleagues were talking about this today. is Act Blue, the financial funding arm For the Democrat Party, we're always wondering: how in the world do Democrats raise so much money compared to Republicans? And I think there needs to be an investigation into Act Blue because It appears that there's outside money flowing in, or money that's flowing in from some.

Somebody even here in the United States using this this platform to Shrink down the contributions to small bite-sized contributions and then flooding it into. Democrat campaign. There needs to be all of these things need to be looked at. And I'll I'll tell you, I mean, it's just well like whack-a-mole. Every time we think we're hitting one, another one pops up and There's a lot to be investigated, and I know the Department of Justice and many others are also very busy looking into this because this is what they've done over the past four years.

And it's just remarkable, but not surprising because this is the Democrat Party of today. Congressman, I know that you guys have a lot of work to do there on Capitol Hill this week. The President putting out a statement just moments ago urging Congress to pass the, quote, one big, beautiful bill and deliver on these largest what he's calling the largest tax cuts in history for the American people. How likely is that to happen, Congressman? I think it's very likely because it has to.

There's several factors here, and not only Should we be doing investigations on what they're finding over at the State Department? But our big focus And this is where the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Besant, tells us every time he comes down to Capitol Hill is that his task given to him by President Trump is to reduce debt and deficits without Letting the economy crash. We're at $36 trillion of debt. That is the great threat. To the United States of America, and we're paying over almost a trillion dollars a year on debt service on that debt.

And the economy is already struggling and working hard to keep its head above water. because of the regulatory environment, because of the threat of tax taxes going up. And so that's what we're doing this week in Congress. There's about 11 committees that are working on. making these cuts to the federal government's budget over the next several weeks so that way we can pass it out of the House, get it past the Senate.

And also, we're going to roll in the of course, the keeping the tax rate the Trump tax cuts energy policy that's going to, of course, unleash our energy resources. Also, the secure making sure that the border has the funding it needs to secure the border. Codifying executive orders that President Trump has signed as executive orders, but actually putting them into law through Congress. This bill is going to have a lot in it, but that's what we have to do because the Democrats in the Senate. Simply will not be helpful at all.

They're just doubling down, running down to El Salvador to defend. MS 13 gang members, and uh believing that uh taxes going up is uh is going to be somehow helpful to their cause, but Democrats are completely out of touch right now. All right, Congressman Stutzman on our Old Glory Bank newsmaker line today. Congressman, you just got back from Syria making a trip there, making a lot of headlines as well. How encouraged are you By the new government there in Syria with the ouster of Bashar Assad.

Actually, very encouraged. I'll tell you this, Todd. When I was asked to go, if it would have been under a President Biden administration, I would have declined. But knowing that President Trump is in the White House and that there is a strong leader internationally is one of the reasons why I went And to me, Todd, it's just truly remarkable. Once you travel outside of the United States and you see countries that have been under dictatorial control, that have been harassed and hounded by Russia or China or anybody else, They look to the United States because they know that we stand for freedom, for human rights, we stand for.

all the good things that people want to have live their lives and experience day to day. And the Syrian people have been through so much under the Assad regime. I estimated about a million people that he murdered. This was not a civil war in Syria. This was simply a political genocide.

of Assad on his own people and what they have endured over the past 10 years, but under the last 50 years, under the Assad family, it has been horrendous. I traveled through the prison. that Assad maimed, tortured, killed his own people at. Uh but the the resiliency and the determination of the Syrian people inspired me. The new leader, the President that has taken over, has a checkered past of his own.

I met with him for about an hour and fifteen minutes and had the chance to talk to him about the relationship with Israel, how important that is to the United States. Also, talked to him about the people of Syria and what is his vision for a new Syria. He talked about trade, commerce, trade lines, tourism. I shared with him, I said, Do you realize how many Christians Would travel to Jerusalem and then to Damascus if they had the opportunity to travel, you know, to be on the road to Damascus, where Saul met Christ and met the you know, changed his his name to Paul after meeting with Ananias in Damascus, and the whole story is truly amazing. I said it would be a it would have a huge economic impact.

And it it seems like he knows all these things. And I'm encouraged by it. I was really encouraged by meeting his ministers for his cabinet. I thought that they were the ones that really told me they are willing to take the chance on this guy and believe that they can help turn Syria around, which would be incredible. We're bringing peace to the Middle East and also with Israel and Syria.

Before we let you go, Congressman, I wanted to get your take on yesterday, the first one hundred days. How excited are you about the speed and ferocity of this administration?

Well, so I came in in twenty ten with the Tea Party wave, and of course, President Obama was in office. And compare that to where we are today, it's night and day. With the Doge team, Finding $160 billion in savings already of wasteful spending. Securing the border. What President Trump has done in less than 100 days.

By taking us from almost down to 94% of decrease in the The crossings At the southern border, we are remarkable. In Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I represent, we're building the satellites that are part of the Golden Dome that's going to help keep our country safe. He got DEI out of the military. It's just one thing after the other. And making sure that this economy grows, making sure that our government is not going after our own people is truly a great part.

I'm so thrilled to be a part of that. All right. Well, Congressman, we're going to leave it there. I know you have a very busy day, and we appreciate you taking some time to hang out with us today. Thanks, Todd.

Always good to be with you. I appreciate it. Likewise, Congressman Marlon Stutzman, everybody, from the great state of Indiana, Fort Wayne, which is home to WOWO, one of the top news talk radio stations in America. Also, Fort Wayne, known as the City of Churches, beautiful, beautiful town. We've got a lot of great listeners there in that part of the country.

All right, we've got to take a quick break here, folks. Again, our telephone number: 901-260-5926. And I'm curious to hear from you with this latest news coming out of the State Department that they've discovered. That Biden was keeping dossiers on conservative Americans. Do you believe that That these people should be held accountable.

Should people be going to jail for violating federal law and spying on American citizens, censoring American citizens? Or should it be Republican politics as normal and just say, you know what? We're going to live and let live. We're in charge now. We're just going to just sweep that under the rug.

901-260-5926. Our number. This is the Todd Stern Show. All right, folks. Don't forget tonight we've got a great show coming up, 5 o'clock Eastern on Newsmax 2, the Todd Stearns show.

Hope you tune in to that. Also, very excited as we're beginning to put together the National Book Tour. My newest book comes out on June 17th. It's called Star Spangled Blessings: Devotions for. Patriots.

And we had a lot of fun writing this book. My friend Michelle Cox and I write the devotion books together, and this is our second one. And we really. Are so encouraged, and you are going to be so inspired by the stories we tell in this book. Not only that, we've got great, good old-fashioned American Fourth of July recipes.

Also, we wrote this book so it could be read together as a family.

So, if you wanted to sit down with your kids or grandkids, you could do that as well.

So, I hope you pre-order a copy, and that's really what we're trying to do leading up to June 17th: to pre-order, get as many people as possible to pre-order the book. And you can do that on Amazon, Books a Million, Barnes Noble, wherever you get your books. Target, Walmart, as well. They are all going to be carrying the book, and you can order it right now online at any of those destinations.

So, again, the name of the book is Star Spangled Blessings: Devotions for Patriots. And we really do hope that you get yourself a couple of copies of this fun, fun little book. All right, I want to play some. Audio real quick here. President Trump.

Talking to Terry Moran, and we had so much audio from this interview. Trump just smacked this guy around like nobody's business. Cut number six, please. Do you think the reputation of the United States? Has gone down under your presidency?

No, I think it's gone way up, and I think we're a respected country. Again, we were laughed at all over the world. We had a president that couldn't walk up a flight of stairs, couldn't walk down a flight of stairs, couldn't walk across the stage without falling. We had a president that was grossly incompetent. You knew it, I knew it, and everybody knew it, but you guys didn't want to write it because you're fake news.

All right. Thank you.

And by the way, ABC is one of the worst, I have to be honest. Thank you.

It's true. And all the guy could do is say thank you. Thank you for that. But it's true. It's absolutely true.

By the way, CNN. They have now bought into all of this, and they're saying that just because you have an MS-13 gang tattoo does not mean you are an MS-13 gang member. Cut four, please. The administration, it follows in this overall strategy where the administration has tried to turn this from a legal argument to an immigration argument by continuing to accuse Mr. Obrego Garcia of being a member of MS-13.

The evidence that the government and law enforcement relied on for that has been the subject of scrutiny from a federal judge. It relies on an informant. It also, overall, relies on these tattoos. The president previously posted on social media a photo of Mr. Obrego Garcia's knuckles, and it had symbols on his knuckles and appeared to also then have a sort of translation on it.

Now, while some say that those symbols are representative of MS-13, we have talked to many law enforcement experts that have said that tattoos.

solely are not enough to justify identifying somebody as being a member of a gang. That being said, the scorecard that ICE uses that we've obtained actually puts a lot of points on whether or not somebody has tattoos as well as their choice of clothing and other ICE work as well. Wow. So they're running cover for this guy, completely running cover. As a matter of fact, Obrego Garcia's father-in-law, and this is the new information coming out, feared that his son-in-law's gang membership harmed his daughter and grandkids.

And of course, Garcia was caught with eight illegals and he was transporting those illegals from Texas to Maryland in a vehicle owned by his boss, who was a convicted human trafficker. In the company of MS 13 gangbangers during a police stop. But CNN says that doesn't mean anything at all. They say that it doesn't prove that Garcia is a member of MS 13.
