Now. On with the show.

Something special about these Milwaukee Brewers. This is the Rich Eisen Show. The Brewers are going. From the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles, I can't give enough praise to the Brewers. Earlier on the show, former Bills head coach Sean McDermott coming up.

Raven safety Kyle Hamilton, ESPN college football senior writer Pete Thamel, and now it's Rich Eisen. Our number two of the Rich Eisen show is on the air. Sean McDermott and our number one, Kyle Hamilton, going to join us from the Ravens in about twenty minutes' time before they take on the Cleveland Browns. Hour number three, Pete Famel is going to join the program from Provo, where College Game Day is going to be where. BYU and Notre Dame taking it on each other in in in Utah.

The Utah Utes are performing very well. He's going to be joining us in hour three to talk about the new college football playoff system that's coming. And speaking of college football, joining us here on the program is somebody who knows the answer to this question. He has no idea I'm about to ask him this question, but he's sitting right next to me. Understand?

Who are we rooting for in Ohio State at Indiana, Cooper? Eyes and who who are we rooting for as a family?

So. There's a rule in this household where you can only refer two teams, that includes Michigan and anyone who plays for Ohio State, ladies and gentlemen. That's what that's a rule. I can't break it, and that's why.

So we're big Signetti people on Saturday, right? Yeah, you love him. Oh, I so by the way, you love him even even if he's not taking on Ohio State.

So are you are you not smiling the whole time to help him, ladies and gentlemen? You love that commercial. I love it. Yes, I love it. Yeah.

So you're going to be here to help us play. What's more likely? But before we get to that. Caleb Williams has reappeared in front of a podium. He's back.

Caleb Williams has reappeared. People, we have not seen him in a while, and we're wondering if he's going to play for the Bears, who, as we all know, just lost to Green Bay, and they were moving quarterbacks around, and Tyson Bagent got replaced, if you will, by Case Keenum, and. They could sure use Caleb Williams coming back against Atlanta, big time. And he appeared in front of a podium and pushed back on the reporting of his hamstring injury, and led to an interesting back and forth with the Chicago media that was having none of it. Hit it.

There's nothing that has come out that has been right about what it is and what it has been, and so yeah, that's that's been fun to deal with. And so I would say from from y'all side, things like that is is being able to report it and and and go through it in the right way, right manner, and then and then from there, if it's if if you haven't heard it from You know, boss man himself, or you know, out of the horse's mouth, me. You know, it would probably be wrong, which every single one has been. And so, that's that's that, and that's it's really all I got. Caleb, what would you say was the injury?

What would you tell us was the injury? It was it was a hamstring tear, and a pretty serious, pretty serious one. Did they give you a grade? Yeah, we got a grade, but. I don't.

I wouldn't say it's deserved to be put out there. After all, the false ones. Why keep the details of the injury secret? Because it's not deserving. Why?

Just not deserving.

Next question. You take exception to it? Doesn't wrong.

So it doesn't. There's some.

Next question. Thank you.

Next question. Listen. I mean, if you're gonna if you're gonna stand in front of the media and say your reporting's off, and then they're asking you, and you're saying if you don't hear from the horse's mouth, and then they're asking the horse's mouth to give us a a correction or clarification, and then you're gonna next question it. It's just it's a waste of his. His goodwill there in that town.

So he's just supposed to tell you exactly what the grade was on his hamstring. No, of course not. He's not supposed to tell you. That's what that's what they were getting at. But he's so then don't say you were wrong about it.

You're way off. You're wrong, and you know which was fun. I have to deal with that. Which was fun.

So that's sarcastic.

So if you're saying the reporting's wrong, and then they're like, well, then clarify it. Since you're saying ask the horse's mouth, we're we're asking you, and then like no, next question, he doesn't have to answer.

Well, then don't bring it up. Don't say you were wrong to the people that were reporting it, and now they're asking for a clarification when you say if you're not hearing it from the coach or from me, then it's then don't report it.

Well, okay, we're asking you, and then you're saying no. It's like okay, like what are we doing here?

So then comes the issue of he's playing this week, and apparently, it's not a done deal yet. Is a big week. Obviously, I go through all the cutting and planning and things like that throughout the weeks. Of the past couple weeks, and you know, it's felt good. I mean, y'all were y'all have been able to see me out there on Friday, moving a little bit, and then obviously the you know before the the Packers game, I've been able to get get out there and move, so it's it's felt good.

But it's you know it's different when you got to go through a whole week of practice and you got to prepare for a game and all of that. The stress on the mind, body, and spirit, and so. Yeah, I think we'll we'll see how it goes this week. I don't know. I don't know if the Bears would put him out in front of the podium if he wasn't ready to to go or close.

Yeah, I buy that. Yeah, you know what I mean. I'd be kind of shocked if he doesn't play. I don't. They really need to win this one.

They well, I just spent last segment talking about how the three and three. Record for the defending Super Bowl champs is you know surprising but not alarming.

So I'm not going to sit here and say that for a Bears team that's been without Caleb Williams since the second game, if they lose, well, losing in overtime and I think in getting blown out the week before a little two different things. No, I I understand that.

So I mean, this team is is three and two. If they fall to three and three, and then their next game after that being a home game Thursday night, or against their next two would be against the the Super Bowl teams from next year, so winning this one would probably be wise, useful. But what's not useful is just like, all right, my first shot here talking to the media for the first time. You are wrong, you know. And if you don't hear it from the coach or me, don't report it.

Here we are asking you to clarify it.

Now we're going to go back and forth. It's just a it's it's it's a waste of his time and everyone else's. But he felt better just getting it off his chest. And if it was wrong, you know, what was also wrong was people, you know, having he did discuss as well about you know the social media stuff and memes. Interesting.

Like the dude thought he was really hurt at the time, and he's getting carted off. He just told you it was a tear, right?

So, and everyone thought like this is like, have we become as a sports viewing society that if you're carted off, you better be out for the year, otherwise you'll be subject to ridicule? You know what? Being out for a month's not enough for everybody. Come on now, whole thing's silly. Let's just get back to playing football.

And I do want to see him against this team. I think they need him. Because if the offense that we saw in Green Bay shows up in Atlanta, Penix coming back, oh, Atlanta will route them. It seems like Atlanta would be would have a leg up, uh huh, literally and figuratively. All right, a boy's here.

Cooperizing here for another day. Your last Friday off before what? Your next Friday off is what? The day after Thanksgiving, I'd imagine, right? I have no clue.

I'm just looking down the road. I know your schedule, Coop.

So my boys here. My youngest son is here. My oldest son is in. He's in physics class right now, right, Coop?

Okay, just don't answer that question. Oh yeah, we got in trouble with that one yesterday. Mom was not thrilled. Wait, why? I go, I go back home.

My mom's like, "Why did you talk crap about your brother on the show today?" I'm like, "Come on, like it's it's it's a brother like like you know this too. You probably argued with Uncle Jeff all the time.

Well, I never did that because my Uncle Jeff never never skipped was I could never accuse him of. It's a brother brother dynamic. You know how it's like. Understood. Yeah, there you go.

It's time for what's more likely, presented by Pella Windows and Doors, where we've doubled the eyes in quotient." What? What's more likely? Never say never, but never. Is this one of your favorite segments, Coop? You do love this segment, right?

Yeah, I'm looking at the graphic for the screen. I'm seeing all the math that I've been doing in class. I'm oh, I gotta go back to school on Monday. By the way, I never thought of that. You had some, you had some moments, huh?

Yeah, all the math. Oh my God, I gotta go back to math on Monday.

Okay, there you go.

So let's let's soak in the fact that we're all doing. What's more likely presented by Pellet Windows and Doors together? What do you got over there? Let's do it. Happy Friday, everybody.

Jay Felly, good to see you. Coop, Coop, welcome to the party, pal. Whoa, whoa, why you want to play no mindless there, TJ? I usually am on the whoa. When he, you know, sometimes he says hi, sometimes he doesn't.

It's oh, I'm okay with it. Hey, TJ, what's up? Hi, Chris. Is that tough? Hey, TJ, I'll say hi to who I want to say hi to.

Okay. I mean, it's his guys. More likely Thursday night football quarterback. You have the most faith in to win a playoff game this year. Bo Nix or Sam Darnold?

Sam Darnold, man. Come on, dude. Give me a give. Give me a give. Come on.

Give us a break. Sam Darn. Can we can we stop crapping on Sam Darnold?

Well, probably not. Can we stop that? He leads the league in interceptions from last year to this point. Right now, okay. He turned all over Coop because he's not a jet anymore.

No, that's not it. Yes, you wish that he's a jet, but he's not anymore. Coop and Ghost. Coop, let me ask you this question, okay? Like, if let's just put you in a again in an academic environment, all right?

You know what your grades are and what you've achieved for certain grades, and then there's somebody who is, say, less experienced than you. At these classes, with less fewer accolades than the ones that you have, and a question like this is asked: like, who can do better on a test, on a on a on on the most important test you can have? And you're and somebody's like, just the mere question of you being questioned that wouldn't that be insulting to you? I guess so, but the thing is, I wasn't disagreeing with you about Sam Donald. I think you are correct that Sam Donald is a better chance than Bo Nix.

Thank you, thank you. The fact that, like what you talked about, it was 32 yards and 10 drives. Was that what it was? Yes, last 10 drives. I mean.

I mean, I'm a big Broncos hater, which is which is kind of sad. But the thing is, if you're gonna like, how can you win games consistently, which they've done, which is really crazy? It's like by putting up no offense. Last year, you were the one I talk about a lot. Is you were in London last year when the Broncos barely beat the Jets.

I aged 15 years calling that game against Jets. We got a lot of these, and even worse, Justin Fields had negative negative yards. Was that he think had like negative. Forty-five total yards.

Well, to answer your question, Coop, the the Broncos have now won fourteen straight games in one possession games, which in NFL history is this is is tied for the second longest streak, thanks to their defense. But I'll just go, I'll go, Darnold here. What else you got over there, Chris? Wide receiver who's yet to have an impact on this season to catch a touchdown on Sunday, Marvin Harrison Jr. or AJ Brown?

Is AJ Brown definitely back? Seems like he's been playing. Um.

Okay, I'll go Marvin Harrison Jr. I think he's for sure scoring. I just feel like he's going to be with his old quarterback, and and they'll just slip in like an old shoe. Point of emphasis: that's more likely than somebody's coming back from a a high ankle sprain who might not be fully 100. Might not even play.

So I'll do that. What else you got over there, Chris? How about this one? More likely to have more receiving yards this weekend: Tataroa McMillan or everyone on the Eagles combined? What do you think?

I think Eagles combined because you're forgetting that Jalen Cooker also exists and he's going to get the ball as well. Ah, and I mean, I need the Eagles play football. But the thing is, it Tanner McKee could still have somewhat good of a game. I mean, the Panthers' defense is still banged up. Hey, Dallas Goddard's there as well.

Okay, yeah, that. I mean, there's another guy named Cooper. That's a great name, by the way, and he's been great. Yeah, ladies and gentlemen, he's pretty good player. You forgot about the Cooper quotient, didn't you, Chris?

Source. Yeah, I had to mention it. What else? More likely, team. If they fall to three and three, it'll feel like their season is circling the drain.

Browns or Raiders? Oh, oh boy. Oh man, I will go the Browns because they're taking on a division opponent as opposed to the Bills. And if the Raiders fall to three and three, Chris. That will only continue.

Akbar will be perfect. The correct prophecy of Akbar Bajab Biemillo, who then predicted the Raiders would beat the Rams in Week Seven, and if that happens, then we've got to have him pee in a cup. Essentially, or pick or pick lottery numbers. You know what I mean? Yes, that's probably a better, more positive way to go.

Okay, I like yours, but I, I, I will go. I will go with the Browns because then they'll have lost then to the Ravens at home after having lost to the Jets. I understand the Raiders will have gone three in a row, having lost. What else, Chris? More likely, zero to five team to get an upset and get in the win column on the road.

Titans or Chargers? You want to handle that one? I think the Titans are probably the answer here because. I mean, it's a it's a division opponent. If they have to win one, they have to win now.

And yeah, I I just don't see how the Chargers. I mean, I I want the Chargers to win so badly because they they deserve it. But I just don't see them going into Arrowhead against the Chiefs or coming off their bye week undefeated. The fans are going to be so excited. Kenneth Walker is going to be ready to run, and I just don't see.

Really, how the Chargers could possibly win? They could, they could still, but I think the tie didn't seem like a more like logical.

Well, you just want this to be a tie because you know your brother is going to be rooting for both teams. Yeah, we're both Madison Beer versus Taylor Swift. Yeah, yeah, this is the Xander Eisenberg. Yeah, the Xander Eisenberg. Yeah, yeah.

I literally asked him this earlier. Like, like if they play in a game, who are you rooting for? I think. And and the funniest thing is, he said that he had bought a a Chargers sweatshirt that says Los Angeles Charger. And he called it vintage, so I had to explain to him that it's not vintage.

Well, the Chargers were the L.A. Chargers in the A.F.L., but they're but the thing is, they're more known as the San Diego Chargers. And that I would say is vintage. I'll go with the Titans against Colts is more likely, more likely to be the higher number. T.J.

Fun one in Green Bay, thirty-plus yard touchdowns in Dallas, Green Bay, or overtime games on the Week Six slate. Considering we already have one.

Okay, I'll go thirty-yard touchdowns in Dallas at Green Bay, right? I mean, this is Christian Watson. This is Ceedee Lamb. This is George Pickens. This is Matthew Golden.

This is the defense of the Dallas Cowboys. We'll see if that's going to be, you know, if it's if it's going to be tightened up or not. And I understand we already have one game in Week Six. It's an overtime game. I'll go.

I'll go. Thirty-yard touchdowns, and that also includes runs too, right? Like Devontae Williams could rip one off. All of it. Yeah, I'll.

I'll. I'll go that one.

Okay. What else? That could be a fun one. What else? A few more.

More likely backup quarterback to get a home win: Jalen Daniels or Tanner McKee. Oh, I think Jalen Daniels right for the Bucks against the Steelers. Steelers have not performed well on the road yet, or certainly let's put it this way: they've performed better at home than the road so far. Right? They're putting up more points at home than on the road, and they're making fewer mistakes at home rather than the road.

That said, if there's anybody that knows how to handle a blitz, I think it's Aaron Rodgers.

So they'll have a better blitz plan than maybe anybody else that's faced Tampa. But they're so short-handed. The Philadelphia Eagles right now—they're so short-handed. Yeah, I think we need to get ready for all the Tenor McKey overreactions on Monday. Which, which, what—that he's going to do well, and they're going to be—they're better.

Like, let's see how Jalen Hurts. You, you, you just—you just take your time. Take your time. Coming time. Take your time.

What else you got over there, Chris? Potential offensive player of the year, running back to have 150 total yards and two touchies on Sunday. Kenneth Walker or Bijan Robinson. You have Kenneth Walker, right, Coop? No, I don't.

I don't have any of these guys. Oh, I'm just not talking about fans. Oh, talking about what the? I mean, I don't know here. Kenneth Walker just been on a heater.

He's been on a heater, and he's coming off a buy. And Bijan's taking on a Bears team that. I I I I I'll just go. I'll go Kenneth Walker. I I might go Bijan here because I don't know how many touchdowns Kenneth Walker would score on this game.

I think 150 yards is possible, but I guess I mean maybe Brian can steal some from exactly. Yes, there's another B Robinson. Right. Yeah.

So you can't split the items. If that's what you're trying to divide, it's hard to choose. If if I had to say anything, I don't think I think I think they can both get it to 100. Fifty yards, but but but the two touchdowns is not not doing it for me because the other B Robinson exists for the Falcons, and then Patrick Mahomes loves to throw it. Yeah, who's faltering, Kenneth Walker?

Yeah, there's not really anyone vulturing Kenneth Walker, but they're not. I don't feel like they really handed off that much in the red zone. All right, we're going to get Kyle Hamilton coming up, so let's let's finish up strong. More likely to be the higher number: Jamis and Shuck combined passing yards or feet of Brewers game four homers. They hit eight hundred eleven feet of home runs.

Oh, we're gonna go the Brewers' home runs, right? Yeah, yeah, because you are expecting both of them to get four hundred yards. Have you seen these guys? I understand that. I mean, eight hundred yards passing.

I mean, it's a possibility, but you, but you, but you need a a Jameis Clinic and. And Chuck rebounding, yeah, sure. Oh, you got one more. Last one. Hold on a minute.

You got the hold on. Hold on. You're sitting right here. Hold on a minute. You sitting right here.

You have one more. I did not know this.

Okay, there you go.

Perfect. One more. Out of black coupe. My favorite. Who's more likely to win the World Series?

Brewers. Guardians. A race. Oh, I'm going Brewers. Don't you think?

Yeah.

Come on, they just feel destined right now, and I understand Guardians and Rays will feel destined when they make the World Series too. But they're just playing lights out, and I love their manager. They don't quit. They're gritty. Maybe it's maybe it's also because I just I love that he's a Springsteen guy.

He's quoting Springsteen. He's pushing buttons. You go give the line that you yeah that he said yeah so yeah he quoted Springsteen but he said like the Dodgers have Hall of Famers. But we're gamers, and I thought that that was a pretty cool line. That's what Pat Murphy had in there.

I think it was obvious. But I feel like, like even though like the Brewers' bullpen has been great, they still have the Miz, who who hasn't like like he can do so much more in the World Series for them. He's like like he's going to be ready to go, and he's going to be lights out. And and like the thing is, the the Rays have seen like a home World Series recently too, and so and like so have the Guardians, but. This Brewers team hasn't had a World Series in Milwaukee in 44 years, so like that crowd in Wisconsin is going to be bonkers.

So that's why I think they. What do you think? I still think the Rays.

Okay, they're down. You know they're down.

Okay, I'm aware. All right, very good. What's more likely is brought to you by Pella Windows and Doors. When it comes to your home, Pella Windows and Doors always have the winning game plan. That's why your neighbors trust them.

Eisen Show, we're one big happy radio and TV simulcast family. Lamar Jackson was just ruled out. Of the Ravens Falcons contest that just happened, joining us now is a man who's definitely in for this contest. Pardon me, there was a Ravens Falcons last week. It's Ravens Browns this week.

He's been ruled out for that. He missed that one. Stu Huntley looked terrific in that game, as did this man who came up with a game sealing pick in overtime of that contest. Kyle Hamilton, back on the Rich Eisen show. How are you, Kyle?

Good to see you, bud. Doing well. Thank you for having me again, Rich. Good to see you. It's good to see you too.

What was that moment like for you to call game in in your hometown? Essentially, Kyle. What was that like? Yeah, it was kind of like a Disney movie. It was it was pretty cool.

NFL script writers got that one right, and it was fun to do that at home. And obviously, it was a tough game Sunday night football overtime. Being able to end the game was pretty cool in front of my family and friends.

So, you know, grew up twenty minutes away from stadium, went to high school fifteen minutes away, live fifteen minutes away now.

So, kind of all encompassing weekend for me. Yeah, what was that moment like after when? When you're done and you're you're you're getting ready to head on the bus, but you imagine you saw most of the people that were there for you, Kyle. What was that moment like for you? Who was there?

Yeah, it was really cool. I had probably. Thirty of my high school friends there. My fiance flew down from Baltimore, met up with them, and had herself a fun weekend. And then ended it with the game.

And then my mom, dad, brother, family from Mobile, Alabama, drove up.

So I felt like I had half of the family section. We're all part of the Hamilton clan, but it was it was pretty cool. How did a kid from Atlanta wind up at Notre Dame? How did that happen? A Korean mother.

That's kind of how that that worked, and I wanted a different experience. And it was between UGA and Notre Dame at the end of the day. And you turned down Georgia. You turned down UGA. Yeah, it was.

I was shunned for a little bit at my high school because, you know, I went to a Catholic high school, so it all they all made up at the end of the day. But just the experience, being able to meet different kind of people, get out south a little bit. I feel like going to UGA would have been like going to high school all over again.

So being able to meet new people, obviously, great academic school with great alumni network and. If I happen to not pan out with football, I'd be all right. And but if I wanted to choose to go down football route and do what I'm doing now, then I think I had a great opportunity to do that too.

So that was kind of my elevator pitch to all the recruits, I guess.

Okay, and you know, I saw what you had to say after the game about winning a game tight end of the game, as opposed to potentially previous years where you may not have won that. What did what did you mean by by that after the game? Yeah, I think there's, you know, there's like a there's like this dark cloud just over our organization for a little bit. Just getting leads in the first half and kind of dwindling throughout the game, and in some sort of catastrophic fashion, we lose a lot of those close games. And you know, we did that one time this year with the Saints, and I think there's been like a mindset shift since that happened.

Like we're not going to allow that to happen again. And you know, close out games, whether it's coming from behind or holding the lead, and I think with Dallas, when Luke make the kick, and then you know, and overtime getting a pick to win the game, it's a We feel like there's a new kind of approach to these endgame moments. Is that because you have a Michigan man coaching the team right now, Kyle? Could I don't think I would classify him as a Michigan man. He was he crossed paths with Michigan at one point.

What does that mean? He was come on, I could show you multiple photographs of the block M on on his head when he won a national championship. Yeah, you did, and I I hate to put you on blast on your other show, but I did hear you say when you were off here that you were a pseudo Notre Dame fan. I'm not because you support me and that market. I do.

I do. Yes. Oh, you heard that?

Okay. Yes, I'm a fan of yours, as you know.

Okay. Okay. It's not your first rodeo here on this program. C.J. Carr is you know royalty for me, being the grandson of Lloyd.

I do like Marcus. I've told him that. I love Bettis and Fitz. They send in their kids there. But at the end of the day, you know, you got to turn to a Michigan man if you want to win.

You know what I mean? And that's what you've done. Is my point. You know, yeah, that's a good point. Good rebuttal.

All right, then. Then get to the seriousness of it. Then, how has Jesse Minter brought a different air? Then, do you think, Kyle? Yeah, I think you know all respect to Harb and everything that he's done, not only in his career but for this organization.

I don't think the Ravens are the Ravens today without his guidance and the way he's been coaching over the past however many years he was here. And so all props to him, and he's doing great things in New York. But I think Jesse's coming had a different approach. Obviously, two different people, two different regimes, and you know there is a kind of just a Free feeling of, you know, he encourages us to go out there and let it rip in practice, and you know if you're gonna mess up, mess up, and we get fixed in the film room, and then same thing in the game. Like, don't we worried about not making plays?

Just worry about making the plays. And that may sound like elementary, but at the end of the day, something as simple as that can allow players to just go free, play as free as they need to play to make plays.

So. I think it's a different approach, and it's something that we've gotten used to, and you know maybe that may make a difference at the end of the game.

Well, I mean, you know when when Jesse Minter was in L.A. here for the Chargers across the street, I was talking. I called a couple of the Chargers games for NFL Network, and I was talking to Derwin James, who loved Jesse Minter, and talking about how he would put. Durwin in certain positions and places to succeed, and allow him to play in a way that was just perfect for him. Is something similar happen for you, Kyle?

Yeah, for sure. And you know, we're going into week six, and season's kind of flying by, but it's still early in the year, and obviously things have even changed from week one to week five. Going into Week Six, but I think Derwin, along with all the other players who's played with him, and along with me, I think everybody just loves how practical he is. You know, he tries to color in the lines, but at the same time, we got a job to do, and like he explains how to do that to the best of our abilities. He doesn't.

Try to, I guess, extract emotion that doesn't need to be extracted from the players. You know, do your job and do it correctly, and we're going to be successful. And I like that approach. Just it's blunt and may seem boring to some, but I like it.

So, does that mean sometimes you color outside the lines the way you play? I think that's the, especially being a DB in the NFL, we do like to color outside the lines. I think there's a special place in heaven for DB coaches in the NFL. Just dealing with the personalities and everything, and the fight back from the room. But yes, you know, he he he gets us to draw in the lines more so.

Yeah.

Well, I mean, Troy Polamalu made himself a a Hall of Famer. Ed Reed in your organization, occasionally coloring outside the lines and being in a spot. Is that where you were in overtime, or was that part of the the plan? When you, you know, I'm not gonna. You just mentioned some rare air, so I was inside those lines when I caught the pick.

I was just doing my job, and yeah, but I mean, sometimes you guys go be a football player. If you paint outside the lines and it looks like Van Gogh, then you're doing something right. I like it, and you know. Speaking of personalities in the defensive back room, did Marlon Humphrey lose you as a potential podcast guest after this past week and the way he characterized your your take on Tua's arrival in the game last week, Kyle? No, I mean he he.

It's too late. I've already been on his podcast.

Okay, good.

So actually, a couple times.

So all right, it's too late. But you know, the Marlins, Marlin, and he he is a very he's a salesman.

So he's gonna sell. And if he wasn't playing football, he'd probably be head of sales at some Fortune five hundred company.

So, but he just so happened to be fast and be good at cornerback.

So this is where he's at now. But You know, he's doing his thing with the media stuff, and I don't have too much of an issue with it. I mean, that's his. Seems like that's what he wants to do after ball, so just kind of dipping his foot in it. But obviously, he embellished things a little bit.

But I am not gonna get too caught up on it. No, I got you. And in advance of this interview, because I am a lead pipe wielding professional, Kyle, I did you know hear what he had to say, and then I did hear you mic'd up. And they were two very different things. The way he characterized it, and what you said, and obviously what you did after all of that.

Your team is now in a position to go into Cleveland and tell the Browns, not yet, basically, right? Like this is this is a rivalry of significance. You understand the geographic rivalry in the history, et cetera, and so forth. Do you feel like this is an opportunity for you to do that? We're a Cleveland team that might feel that this is a new page turned, and the Ravens have an opportunity to go in there and say, "Not yet, Kyle." Yeah, I think you're you're on the on the hit the nail on the head for sure.

It's it's a turning point game for both of us, and you know obviously they haven't had a lot of success the past few years. I know Stefanski's had them in the playoffs a few times, but. You know whatever's happened with them, they're three and two now in this season, and they're playing good ball. And you know Deshaun's playing well. They got some talent, young talent all over the field on both sides of the ball.

And Denzel's still the top guy in the league. Like Dell Pitt, guys in the back end who can make plays on their defense.

So they're primed and ready to make a run and and prove a lot of people wrong, which I respect. And for us, I think it's. It's always a sense of stacking games because we've won three straight now. It's like if you can get to five and one, winning four straight, that looks a lot different than four and two, losing to a division opponent.

So I think it's a statement game, turning point game for both teams. Going to be a great game and great rivalry. Do they look different to you on film than previous years? Are you studying them in advance? Uh yeah, I think so.

I think I mean they got a ton of they've had two great drive classes over there, on both sides of the ball. Obviously, I'm only watching offense for the most part, but right, you know you're seeing new faces pop up like Boston, the receiver. Um, they got a few receivers, running backs, and they all play hard. A tight end, super talented, Harold, young kid, and uh, you know, watching them this year, they seem very energized with Deshawn, and you know he's run all the. All over the field, making plays.

So I'm excited to go up there and play. I feel like it's going to have a different energy than inside in the past. Yeah, and it's another week with Snoop Huntley. Can you describe your confidence level in this this QB? Clearly, we saw it's again last week what he did against Atlanta.

It's not even the first time he's done that. He's done it over and over again. But I'd love to hear you give voice to it from the defensive side of the locker room, if you don't mind. Yeah, like you just said, he's done it over and over again, and he's proved his worth every time he's gone out there. Really, and I think it's kind of underappreciated at that position in the NFL.

You know, they always say it's the most important position in the league, and there's only a handful of guys who can get the job done. But you know, to have a pseudo backup quarterback who can come in and win games against great teams on the road, like we won in Green Bay last year, we. Just beat Atlanta, who's been rolling a little bit, and you know we have the utmost confidence in him, just like we do in Lamar. Not to downplay the two-time MVP, but at the same time, it's nice man up mentality, and Lamar is probably his biggest cheerleader in the locker room. You know, he's he's hoping that he does well, is trying to do his best to get him prepared, and Snoop goes out there and executes.

So. Everybody on in the building has the utmost confidence in him to go out there and get the job done. All right. Lastly, does Notre Dame win the national championship this year, Kyle? I might not get a chance to speak with you between now and the end of the year.

If if that's, I'd love to, and if we can chat again. But what do you think? Me too. Thank you.

Does Notre Dame win national championship? Is the Pope Catholic? Let me. You want to Google that for me? I'm gonna look that up.

I can look that up real quick, Cass.

Okay. All right. I believe he is.

Okay. Yeah, don't don't Google it. It's confirmed. It's confirmed. Yes.

Okay, you're that you're that you're that confident. This is it. I am that confident. Yeah.

Okay. So if it's a great. There he is. There's. And by the way, we send our our best wishes to him in his recovery.

Right. Yeah.

So you know.

Okay. What do you like about him? What do you think? What jumps out at you? I think there's something to be said about continuity in college football these days, and there's not a lot of it.

Whether it's a coaching staff or player, and especially at the like I said, most important position on the field, C.J. Carr, who I've actually never met. I'm feeling kind of old watching these Notre Dame teams that I don't know anybody on the team, but. You know, having that continuity, him having a good season under his belt, and you got guys on the outside he's played with throwing the ball to. I think the defense is legit.

Honestly, Leonard Moore out there outside who I think should be the first defensive player taken off the off the board this year's draft, and you know everybody else that plays their part. A bunch of talent all over that defense, and the coaches to get it done.

So. It sounds great on paper and looks great in my visual perspectives too.

So yeah, I think it does. And again, just like what you're doing right now with your coach, if they win it all, they turn to a Michigan legacy at quarterback.

So there's that. You know what I mean? There's there's there's a through line in everything. It's my point. Yeah, yeah.

Everything everything comes back to Michigan. All roads lead for me. It does. Who's your favorite Michigan Wolverine, Kyle? Who's your favorite Michigan Wolverine?

Denard Robinson.

Okay, okay. Is it because he didn't tie his shoes? Is that why? Is that what? I think so.

I think so. I kind of like that. Growing up, I like that. I was kind of fishing for a compliment, but it's okay. I'll take the.

Oh yeah! Oh, I thought you said second favorite. No, wait a minute. This just in: the zoom's a little off. Great to see you, Kyle.

Thanks for the time. Likewise, thank you for having me, ladies and gentlemen. One of the best in the business, Kyle Hamilton, the Baltimore Ravens, right here on the Rich Eisen show. I like too many Notre Dame people. It's getting a little out of hand.

Well, I am glad you. Probably like Riley Leonard too, right? Yeah, I mean, you are finally came on, getting wiser and smarter in your older age. No, I am not. You know what I mean.

I am glad you didn't keep him long because, like he said the other day. Doesn't get paid for overtime. That was a great line. Glad you let him out. That was a great line.

Yeah, I want to end this game. I don't get paid extra for overtime. Funny. By the way, I don't know if a cap could handle paying NFL players time and a half. It really made me think, though.

Like, how is that pay structure? Do they get paid? You imagine if that goes? That maybe that's why they didn't want to. By the way, that was a risky play to go for.

You know that field goal. Who? The Dallas Cowboys. Oh, you know they they ran no risk. Why we?

Anytime they want to go for overtime, imagine paying him thirty thirty million dollars a year, time and a half. Wow, ninety million time and a half. All right, let's take a break. Scratched. All right, all right.

You know what? I'm I'm so happy for the fans of the Milwaukee Brewers. I understand those driving around listening to us in Los Angeles right now on ESPN LA aren't terribly happy to hear that. But what a story! And you know, Jake Bowers is the MVP of the NLCS.

A bunch of guys just bopping the ball out of the park. Churio playing baseball, and Christian Yelich makes his way to the World Series. Finally, Contreras was awesome. We use great Pat Murphy. Pat Murphy, just an outstanding leader and button pusher and manager.

Springsteen fan, kind of dig the whole damn thing. In the name of Bob Uecker. Who he mentioned in his clubhouse speech to the team? Just a bunch of guys. You put them together, they hit the ball, they see the ball, they catch the ball, they throw the ball.

One hundred and three regular season wins.

So it's not surprising to see a team of the hundred and three regular season wins make the World Series, but to sweep the Dodgers, you know, and it's kind of crazy. Let's not forget the Dodgers acquired Tarek Skubal, and we were talking about baseball being broken because the team that had the most money and the biggest collection of stars, the Hall of Famers, as Pat Murphy said, they got Hall of Famers. We got a bunch of gamers, but the team that was supposed to be ruining baseball. Just lost to the Milwaukee Brewers and didn't even come up with a win, including a game four in which Otani finally homered, and it was one of those three-run jacks, too. No doubt about it.

Correct. That went over Del Twofo and Filler, and and and the normally you know even keeled Otani was like barking, like this was six, seven, eight weeks of oh yeah. August eighteenth was his last. Right, it was a it was a lot of pent up, and when you when a team hits a three run home run in a game, they usually win, and they were up four nothing, and the Brewers were like, "Yeah, okay, yeah, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool," and that's the end of that. No threepeat, and the team that was supposed to have broken baseball gets broken by the Brewers, which means, I guess.

The Brewers now take the mantle of being the team that's broken baseball, right? Because if they win it all, if they win it all, how can we say that the current system of the way that the sport is run is broken? What needs to be fixed? That's one way to put it. I mean, that's that case can be made.

And if there are a bunch of owners are like, too bad, it's way too expensive for us, and it's unsustainable, and they go ahead and stop the sport, maybe the Brewers will break baseball because they won, and they were the best at it.

Now there's still the American League that we got to talk about. The Guardians feel destined. The Rays are the best team in the American League. Perhaps they will get bounced by a team that is a ragtag bunch of guys that a bunch of gamers. There, it could be an all Midwest World Series gamers versus gamers, which would be quite something.
