Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another special Tuesday episode of the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. I am. The hero that you love and hate, O'Shea Jackson Jr. Hey, yo, it's me, it's me, it's the T double O, that J I double G2 jig. TJ Jefferson.
And ladies and gentlemen, we are back. From Indiana, and we didn't go see the Jacksons. No, you know, I would want to go see the family house, we didn't make it there. We were doing other stuff. Yeah, man, we had to um we were hosting the I guess you could say the ESPN pre-show.
No, I don't think you can say that isn't a matter of fact. It's not something that you can say. It's what it is, you know. Yeah, and. You know, they brought us out there.
Obviously, we're super excited, as you guys already know. When it comes to us, To be able to be put on a platform like ESTN and to do what we love, we were chomping at the bit. And they treated us pretty good and they let us do our thing. They let us come out and told us from the jump to just be ourselves. And that's what we try to give you guys.
In the beginning, they even let us, bro, they let us really promote them. Pod. And I mean at the end of the day it is an ESPN property now. But you know, we're very appreciative. We're very appreciative of how we were treated out there.
It was really cool to be able to chop it up with the Miz. Who's just a machine? The dude's a machine. He truly is, man. No, if you look back and if you see when Ms.
hosted the Rich Ivan show, I had a Confession with him that I had some one-sided beef with him that went back 20 plus years. 'Cause I probably uh probably played me a little bit in the club one night. But um A bunch of my friends that I love became friends with him, and I kept hearing how cool he was. And then finally, I just had to be like, All right, man, if all these dudes is cool with you, then I got to let this go.
So he and I talked about it, and I was able to put that to bed. And it didn't define us working together. was you'll understand how funny that is, bro, because for a long time I really was like whatever. But all the while no one like I totally respected what he did. I totally respected his grind.
I totally respected everything he accomplished. I couldn't get that moment out of my head, man. And I finally just had to let it go, dog. It felt good to let it go. And then to have him sit with us for over an hour and shake.
He told us, he was like. They asked me if I wanted to do an hour. I said, I'll do all two. I want to hang with you guys as long as I can, which that was pretty cool for him to want to do that, you know? Yeah, and he even blessed us with 15 minutes that we could use today on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast.
So you will see a little bit of that. Of a conversation we had with Ms. before the pre-show.
So we will get into that a little later. But we're gonna give you a complete rundown of our experience. and talk a little bit about Raw. Once again, it is a special Tuesday episode. Cause we gotta film this the night of Monday.
Because I'm still shooting a movie. I'm still shooting a movie. My man got a day job. You feel me? You know, I met Peter Dinklers today.
Oh work. That was that antsy. He cool, man. He dope. Yeah.
I haven't had. That was Dave Franco. Frank O'Connor. Oh, that's your boy, though.
So that's my, yeah, that's my boy. Like, Dave, been my homie since 2019. But uh today was the first time I got to like have a conversation with Peter Dinklich. I have yet to tell him that Bran Stark is a snake, but we're getting there. Swanston's snake.
As many times as you've tweeted that out, I'm sure he's seen it because it's something you tweet about once a month. Yeah. Matter of fact, it might be the first thing I tweet tomorrow. Branch is a snake. There's something I wanted us to talk about on the pre-show, but we didn't get a chance to.
Did you ever find that snake? Wouldn't tell that story? No. Look all right, so like So You know, we in Georgia, there's a lot of wilderness, all right? It's very woodland.
Out here. Not my cup of tea being from Los Angeles. And they have a snake. All set. And this dude just walked around with the little, you know, the cane that they used to grab snakes with.
But like that that lazy claw that you get from like Uh dating busters or something. But so which is why which is why because Jake the Snake didn't lose no claw. You know what I'm saying? No, he's no car. But he knew that snake.
He knew that snake. This dude's dealing with wild snakes. And so this dude been around us for about a week and a half. And then all of a sudden Uh I get word. Hey, Shay, there's a.
Just so you're aware. There's a non-venomous snake that we may not completely have Uh informational. And I was like, all right. What does that tell me? It's a round set and we don't know where it went.
Oh Right. Dope. All right. Yeah. You know what type it is?
It's black. All right, thanks, bro.
So, yeah, there's a Well, if it was gonna be any c if it was gonna be any color, you know, then Yeah, I mean, maybe that means he won't mess with me. But yeah, so in this farm that we're shooting in, We all know where that snake went.
So And the handler wasn't there that day. I was like, all the days for you to not be there is the day we finally see a snake. And they don't know what they what happened to it.
So it might pop up, it might not. We'll see. But say go and be all right. Yeah, man.
So, you know, that's, you know, that was how we kind of kicked things off. We were walking the set, and you told me that. And I was like, wait, what? Yeah, it's not. Yeah, to go back to what you were saying about them letting us be us.
I was talking to uh One of our producers, Jake, and he, you know, because we were doing a lot of text messages and emails, and I just don't like that third part, you know, that I caught a fish this big. I need to get to the source.
So I called him up, had a great chat. He told us. ESPN Wanted us to do this. They were very excited and they wanted no contest. He said, We want you to do what you do.
We're not going to ask you to throw this stuff, we're not going to ask you to do anything you don't normally do. Whatever you do on the podcast is what we want. And that was pretty dope to hear. Yeah, it um it definitely took I A weight off the shoulders a little bit because I know we've both been watching ESPN for decades, you know. And being a decade longer than you, you know, but still, of course.
I didn't say that, you said. But um yeah, and so you know what type of Magnitude, it is to be able to speak on that platform, let alone run the show on that platform. And It might have had my mind in a different way of doing things until they said, no, we want y'all to be y'all. And that type of trust is very welcome. It makes us feel.
You're welcome. And we're very appreciative.
So much so that We decided, well, really me, because it was a surprise for you. to unveil the NCW Championship title. on uh on the pre-show. I've been holding that Secret down for longer than I wanted to. And to finally get the finished product from Dave Milliken.
I had a feeling you had something, but then I was like, oh, he's holding his hand as a t-shirt, like for a solid hour. I guess maybe Jade had the bag hidden. I never even saw, I didn't see nothing until you. Popped it out live, so yeah, bro. I had that had that magic, and uh, yeah.
Sat on the table, covered in a no-contest resting t-shirt, and then unveiled. There she is, the NCW title. Yeah. So, when you think of belt makers, and we're talking of you're of a certain age, you know, you think about the iconic belts that you loved as a kid. And so, you think of two belt makers: you think of the late, great Reggie Parks, and you think of Dave Millikan.
And when you said that some guy was gonna make a belt, and I was like, What's his name? And you're like, Dave Milliken? I was like, Wait, what? I'm like, Dave Milliken is the Michael Jordan of belt makers. Are you serious?
And you're like, Yeah, so. I know you and I. We sent some pictures in of our favorite belts of all time, and then I did see like a little rendering, but that was it, man. And so, when you pop this out, like I said, this drawing is about. 15 pounds.
You know what I mean? We've got the no contest. On there and then you know But what do we got? That's me with the crown. That was my picture from LinkedIn.
We got you. with yours and then you know we got the the side plates you can see that In the back. Yeah, man, this thing is truly, you know, like. Kadim Hardison said, and white man can't jump. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
And John Keats said that. John Keats, that's my man. This thing is a thing of beauty, bro, and it's going to last forever. It'll be here long after you and I are gone.
So, but yeah, man, this. This will be sitting in the Rich Eisen Show studio. And Absolutely, man. This is truly beautiful though, yo. Like a real chill.
What you guys don't know is that before every episode when we're in the studio, we have like a We gotta like look at our, we have hella belts, all right? Hella titles, and we have to really make a decision on: all right, who, what are we showcasing? Who's gonna be on and like, How would it matter to have Such and such title there, or yada yada yada. And we have been talking for a long time, like, bro, we need one for the show. And there's been a lot of people who have reached out, who are like, oh, you know, I would love to do it.
And then It was April 9th. I asked Twitter. Y'all know me. I asked Twitter. I was like, where can I get like a real deal Holy field?
Where can I get? a high quality title. And there's a bunch of people in there, like, oh, you want to hit Dave Milliken. You want to hit Dave Milliken? I DM'd him.
So hey, explained everything. Uh That I I Wanted it for. There was a show and explained the show, sent clips and all that so he could see. And he hopped right on it. He jumped right on it.
Um, and that thing is brand spanking new, man. It's beautiful. Let me hold the light code. Yeah, right? I just that N and that W and it just pop.
System ops, bro. I mean, look, I can't front the name, man. Like, I was watching Rod the night, and Joe Tessator was talking about Asuka and. Ria and was saying how Asuka's never beat. Which is whack to me, but I already knew that.
And said they had another match, and it ended in. No context.
So yeah. This thing is just. Like I'm gonna rock this to the, I'm gonna wear this to the mall. I'm gonna take this to Rob. Yeah.
I'm going to go grocery shopping with this in the little baby carrier and just... Roll it. Don't think I will. Do you think I won't when I will? I'll go do that.
As soon as we're done, I'll go up the routes and push this around in the cart. Listen, man, the entire time that I had that built, I was looking like, man, we really gotta. A Dave Milliken one of one. How long has it been? About a week and a half.
Okay. And I was like, man, we really got a Dave Milliken one-on-one, but. I'm really needed to be a one of three, Dave, because we're gonna have the big boy. But me and TJ, we gotta have some for our houses. Yeah, man, I'm gonna have to hit that powerball tonight to get me one of these man.
Come on, dog.
So You know, there will be others made, but that right there, that's our that's our first one. Representing Um a lot of growth with the pod. Looking at them early episodes, us figuring it out. And we still are, we're still getting our flavor together, even as the year approaches in October. But I just want to Yeah.
Not even a year. Not yet. And we just wanted something to Commemorate Not only the move to ESPN. But just how much we are putting into giving you guys the best show that we can. And show a little, you know, a little appreciation of y'all.
Give y'all something pretty to look at, too. And uh just One more time. We want to thank everybody who tunes into the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. We can only get bigger with the support that y'all give us, and we will do everything in our power as individuals and as a team. to make sure we're the number one.
Podcast in the world. That's what Miz said.
So Well, I'm not gonna call Miz a liar. Yeah, it's um I'm kinda you know, I'm kinda my mind's kinda blown, man, because Yeah. You know, I in my mind, I saw this, I saw this happen before it ever happened. You know what I mean? Like, I sat there for two years and just kind of waited for us to be able to do this, you know, and and like I said, when you finally were like, Yeah, I was like.
It's a rap. I just knew it. I was like, and I think I've told you before, you know, in the time that it took you to, I guess, kind of make up your mind, or you were filming or whatever, I'd see you go on these other pods, bro. And I would get not depressed, but I would just sit there and I'd be like, man. They're giving him a show, man.
And then I was like. Oh, and it was like, so like, I knew that you and I could make something special, but I was like, he's. You know, someone else is going to get this dude, man. And I was just, I was just really happy. When the word came that you said, Yeah, you want to do it.
And so, yeah, man. And here we are now. Absolutely. It's been one of my favorite decisions I've ever made career-wise. It is no contest.
That's why, you know, I ch When we got a guest, you know, I will I'll be leaving set. Got Grayson Waller making fun of my ass because I'm sitting in her car doing whatever I can. He goes, what are you? What are you consistent? Are you getting the water?
Yeah, like, no, you're in a drive-thru at Wendy's. It was like, damn, I'm at work. Yeah. Grayson walks the hill to the fullest extent, bro. Absolutely.
But enough of the enough of all that nice Crap. All right, we're here to talk about our experience and let you guys let a little insight, a little insight of what was going on in Respalooza. Obviously, we did the pre-show. Shout out to The Miz, shout out to Sam Roberts, all the people, Cheyenne, who was working hard for us. Car for us back to Miss Latoya, who is driving us everywhere.
Miss Latoya, uh, Glenn Jacobs, not that Glenn Jacobs, and uh. Make and Sean, we're back in Bristol. Ma Michael Cole, bro. Michael Cole rolled through and blessed us, man. And I got to be like, you know, like I was telling you when we had Mick Foley, I found myself just kind of stared at him for a minute.
Like, this is me. Yeah. I got it out. Like at that point, I was like, dude, this is Mike. This is, or is Y2J would call Mitchell Cole.
You know, and when you think about Michael Cole's come up, bro, like, he, you know, back in the day, he was doing backstage segments with Rock and DX and getting west by the rock and frosted tips. Frosted tips and the mustache, skinny Michael Cole. And then for him to like. you know Just his career to just continue to grow because, as we mentioned on the pod, you know, he was a journalist, he had a legit like news background. Before it started.
And then, within like the last, I'd say two, three years, it was almost Michael Cole was always good. But then it seemed like the reins got taken off of Michael Cole, and he was just kind of. Just get busy is the best way I can say it on the mic. And to me, he's elevated his game a thousandfold in the last few years. You know, it might be hard to believe that, but I feel like he was being shackled down maybe at some point.
You know, Michael Cole is the man, bro.
So, you know, Rosenberg, great to meet him and have him. Sydney Rosenberg. I'm always going to give it up to Rosenberg. I know he be getting on some people's nerves. But that's Pete, man.
But I'm always going to show love to him because, you know, before I did, you know. The Van Bleats or Bust It Open or any of the shows you were talking about. He was the first person. To Bring me on to a wrestling show to talk. And when no contest really kicked off, He was one of the people, one of the first people that I texted.
or just like, you know. Thank you for being the my first taste of getting into the wrestling media space by having me as a guest on his part.
So I'm always gonna give love to Rosenberg. And it's just funny that Both of us are over at ESPN now. And yeah, that's always going to be my boy.
So I just wanted to shout out, shout out Rosenberg. Much appreciative, as always. And Getting through that pre-show. Being able to do it with vets who have done many pre-shows in the past. It just felt a little seamless, you know, seamless.
It really felt like we were in control. There was not a point where I felt Man, you know what? It's not over yet. Like, we could have gone off. Much longer.
At one point I looked up my my phone and it was three forty three. And that meant we had about, you know. you know, 17 minutes left. And I was like, wow, man, this is almost like. Like that.
Well, I guess 443, my bad. 443. But, like, when they tell you, like, all right, yeah, you got 15 minutes, them 15 minutes go away like that. Seemed like three. Yeah, and they and they look in at you and they tell you that I was It it tricked me out.
It is legal. Yeah, exactly. And just letting me know that you gotta really stay on it. And they're such a machine, the booklets that they gave us, the information to be able to pull off of. It really is.
Something that I'm excited that we get to be a part of now. And it's just the beginning. It's just the beginning. Once again, it's all with you guys' support.
Now let's talk about what we got to do after. Boy Ellen a card. When they took us backstage, we was trying to go to our seats. Peace up. You know who we saw.
Oh yeah. The kid oh those kid oh Yeah.
So you guys saw all the John Cena kids, right? Of course, there was like a hundred of them all decked out in yellow. And so they had just got done doing a segment at the top of the show. And so, as we were walking in the back, when we first walked in, they were walking out. And so, all these little kids are walking by, and they all start.
And I only even know this, you know this, but I don't. I only know that because I literally spent. I took five minutes one day. He's like, what is this? 6-7, 6-7.
So they're walking by. You and I are just like, you know, me, I don't know this. I'm like, and they're high-fiving us. They're like, see, and like, oh, yeah, it was said, it was so cool to see these kids. And, you know, they're all walking by us doing this and 6-7.
Six seven of them, you and I. Six seven, except like all of them. Yeah. who started it with them but like yeah them kids were amped And also, you know, the man Becky Lynch was there. Uh, watching you know, the kids pass by, it was great to see.
Becky. I I met Becky previously. back before she was the man. And um You know, with my sister Karima.
So it was great to see Becky, all the success that she's had. Then we keep going. And who do we see with his headphones on? Just a tank of a man, friend of the show, Brock Breaker. Yeah.
That's a big do. Yeah, that's a big, strong boy right there, man. There's no certain people like the TV don't do it. And they're already impressive on T V. Broad breaker.
is uh an impressive human being. And super chill. I hate TJ. I hate that I can't like them right now. We're going to get more into that at the end.
And now it's like now you are in a predicament, but uh, we'll, we'll talk about that later. Yeah, and so we walk past, we see John. John is getting in his moat. It was like seeing a unicorn, bro. He's like coming out of gorilla, talking to some people.
We also saw Stephanie Bequerre, she was down and she was walking towards us. I was like, I wonder if she'd remember us, but then she kind of dipped into a room before she fully got to us.
So we didn't really get a chance. Because, you know, it's cool to kind of meet these people that we've interviewed over Zoom, and especially with her, because I feel like now we have like a kind of a bond with Stephanie because of the whole devil's kiss thing. But yeah, it was, and then we're in the back and we're making our way to our seats, and then somebody just comes walking through: like, we got to clear the hallway, we got to clear the hallway. I assumed that the beast was coming and they wanted everybody out the way. And you didn't have to tell me twice.
We went out and we were right in front of some pyro and that went off and I think. We all just, I would have dunked at that point. I jumped so high, yeah. Like, bro, give us a countdown. Like, hey, it's about to be a bull.
But then, yeah, the pyro, the show is kicking. Oh, yeah, Joe Tessitor. Joe Tessitor, right, right. Shout out to that. And uh yes, so we make it to our seats and now WWE has taken care of me plenty of times where I don't know where we got the tickets.
It could be ESPN. I don't know, you know. But oh, I know where we got. Oh, buddy. Yeah, yeah.
Shout out to WWE, they're good people out there. But yeah, they put us up against the wall. I never, except for NXT, NXT always could be organized as well. But like for the for a P L E Be it up against the wall. Oh, be in the wall.
I think people's first thought is you're in the back somewhere against the wall. We're in the front. No, no, we. I don't think most people because I didn't even know what you meant.
So I think most people would think now we're front row in front of the barricade, baby. On hard cam side.
So, yeah. And so, um, It's just it's just a different experience when you Which you definitely got a taste of. Face to face with Brock Lesnar. All right, so let's get into it. First match of the night is Lesnar and Ceno.
So Leslie's music starts. The people lose their mind. First and foremost, though, I want to give a shout out to Pat McAfee, who might have had the biggest pop of the night when he came out. You know, he was doing college game day, I think, in Georgia or somewhere down south and made it back. He came out, that place just erupted.
Like I said, he may have had the pop of the night. And then Brock comes out. Ooh. Brock comes out. And If you've never seen Brock Lesnar in person, It is It's a few things.
It's awe-inspiring. It's amazing and it's also a little bit scary. Yeah. I said before, he's like the Prometheus alien. You know, if you've seen the movie Prometheus, I don't even think it's called.
There's an actual name for the thing, but the Engineers. Engineer, the Prometheus Engineer. Thank you, Shay. Yeah, you just I don't even know how to describe it, man. Yeah, just like you just think, like.
Can I imagine this thing mad at me? Right. No, and he comes walking by, so I'm screaming. I was just like, this man's not cool. He's from playing at Lesnar.
I've never seen anything like it. And then he got in front of us and he kind of looked at me, and I was just, I threw my hands up like, yeah, I'm. Hey, brother. Hey, brother. I ain't trying to be just a little trivial.
There's a time to try to be a tough guy. And let me tell you something: that ain't the time to try to be a tough guy. This is the only way I can describe it. If anybody at home got an apartment or got whatever. where the washer and the dryer are on top of each other.
That's Brock Design. Just a human. That's him, bro. Oh, okay. You oh, all right.
Hey, hey, so you know, it's just A presence that he has. Because he you know He uh he's not for playing and. Brock coming out, we had already made the prediction that he was going to win. This is what we did on on, you know. And boy did he, in under nine minutes.
And you pointed out something probably interesting: that every time Brock makes a big comeback, what does he do? He beat John Cena ass. Like, I don't know. What he got in his contract to do this. The man is five and two.
Intuitive matches were under ten minutes. against the never before seen 17. I had to wonder: like, does this beef go back, though? How many back in 02? Like, why?
Like, you know, but you always get the upper hand on John. Super Cena, the dude that like Basically made a generation of fans. and haters in one swoop. Because of his success, you are. is kryptonite which makes sense but also it's like We know when we watch it, and you're five and two, and one of those twos is a DQ because you hit his ass with a weapon.
Like Yeah. That's incredible. And and I Apple is Don't don't get a rematch. I feel like we will see a re I feel like John will get his lick back before he, in one of these next five. I think he probably will.
But it made sense, like, because here's the thing, right? A lot of people feel how they feel about the John Cena Hill term. But the fact of the matter is, when John Cena was doing the Hill thing, he brought out, you know, he brought a little bit of viciousness and ruthlessness, especially in his promos and stuff. But then he went back to being a babyface, a good guy, and, you know, maybe a little softer in his approach. But the thing is, You can't be soft in your approach when you got a monolith like Brock Lesnar.
We're trying to tear you up.
So I kind of knew that maybe John wasn't in the might, the right state of mind to go up against Brock Lesnar. And kind of proved that. Yeah, I said during the pre-show, we might not even see any of the greatest hits. We we might not get a You can't see me. We might not get all the things that you expect from a John Matt.
They might not happen. And boy, all I can remember is German suplex, German suplex. Uh oh. Six F fives. My God.
Saw a couple AAs in there, too. You know, John got a little bit of offense in, but. Bro, under nine minutes? That's crazy. A lot of people are upset about it.
A lot of people are disappointed about it. How can we waste one of John's last? Uh uh You know, times out in front of a crowd. On a match like that. But There is a chance that there is a rematch.
He got to get his leg back. He has to be way more vicious in a match like that. It's got to be no DQ. You got a like. Go for it.
Do you want that toast? Because I mean, when I think about Yeah, but like, it's what you need against Brock. When I think about that match with him and Cody, how they were going crazy. I need to see that from Brock and Cena. One more get go.
And we know that we said it during the pre-show. That right there was Brock Lesnar's 50th. P-L-E-Win for his career. John is sitting at 99.
Something special has to happen. With that number 100, but also. Um Is it Crown Jewel? Crown Jewel is coming up, if I'm not mistaken. And I know John is going to be there.
John has to be there.
So we'll see where this goes. We'll see how this uh this goes down. But yeah, I mean, it went how you and I expected. The internet just. Don't like it.
Yeah. Well, you know what I say? If you're mad. Let me give you a key. Cause you'll be Superman.
Superman, man. But uh Brock Lesnar did got the dub. Yeah, got the dub, like Brock Lesnar knows how to do. After that, I believe we had. As you know, managing maintenance, repair, and operations is never easy.

Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. The Usos versus the vision. And um You know, it's a decent tag match. It was great to see the Usos come out to their old entrance. Yeah, electric to be in there for that entrance, man.
It really was. Yeah. And it was, it's one of those things I remember when. They kinda split. I remember thinking, like, man, some twins that have done everything together for how long?
And now they have to go like they're not They're not on the road together anymore. They're not You know, they're on two different shows.
So to see them back together, it gave you all the nostalgic feel-goods. But the vision, you know, they they They had their minds set. On a mission, the tribal thief. Ron to read, Braun Breaker, who is just a machine. And they came out, they got the job back.
Bunch of the basic thing, too, though. You know what I'm saying? Massive. Gigantic human beings. Yeah, I called them the Super Smash Brothers because that's what the hell.
That's what the hell they look like, bro. And you said it to Braun backstage before the match. And then the match goes on. One thing we almost neglected to mention was Paul Heyman coming out and introducing Brock. Oh, what a banger!
And if you recall, John's in the ring doing this thing and I just happened to look to my right. And I see eyes just so happen to be staring right at me. And it was Paul Heyman kneeled down behind two people. And I was like, yo, Shay, look, there's Heyman. And then he came out and did the intro, and it was fire.
Yeah, just we'd be remiss if we didn't say that, but uh, you know, the Usos, uh, the vision, they were doing their thing, and then after uh, I think a recoil of a chair shot, Jimmy just got or Jay, I'm sorry, got busted wide open and he was leaking. And um, I don't know if that made them maybe cut the match short a little bit or whatever. Uh, I predicted the vision to win anyway, but yeah, he got he got busted up pretty, pretty bad, man. Yeah, and I remember trying to look like who's bleeding like that. I looked at Reed, no, I looked at Breaker, they just got hit with chairs.
Well, who's bleeding? And it was like Jake, the one who attacked them. And, you know, looking at slow-mo vids and everything, yeah, popped him right in that head, right in that, right. in the front on that hairline. And The do was concussed.
There was no way around him. Jimmy, immediately after the match, placing a towel over the open wound. Just trying to keep it closed so I know it was ugly over there. And we saw him raw. He obviously had a match with LA Knight, so he's fully recovered from protocol.
But scary moment for Jay Uso. Jey Uso right now is in a bit of character limbo. Because you don't know what direction he's going. His looks are intense. He seems to be tired of the happy-go-lucky.
Uh Jey Uso for the kids. And he wants to get back into the the The title scene. By any means necessary, and he feels like this dude LA Knight is in the way. LA Knight, of course, we knew how the special guest referee thing was going to go. It's always he was actually the first guy we saw when we were.
Oh, yeah, that's the first person we saw. All right, shout out to LA Knight, friend of the show. We doubt. And uh yeah, you know, fun. Cool Matt really was a story builder more than a finisher.
And so, you know, by far, no way near. the end of that saga. But then we got some good stuff. Then we got to see Eo versus Vacare. Hey yo!
Boy. When you talk about Just Two ladies that Demand respect from the crowd when they come out. Yeah, it is uh Eeyore song such a banger. Stephanie's track is such a banger. Stephanie came out.
Like she was ready for a championship. The robe, the new robe, got your dad in the front row. She tasted the like a champion. She did. Yes, yes.
Her presentation was on point. EO's EO. There's no way you can look at EO. And like see her come out with that smile. and know like she's about to do some crazy shit.
She's about to go nuts. And They did exactly what they were supposed to do, what we had been waiting for.
Now we both thought Oscar was going to have a hand in it. Yeah, that's where it was going. They let it play out. 101, catch a fair one. The care coming out with the victory.
That That finisher she did, a lot of people are calling it different things. It's a corkscrew. It's a corkscrew. Yeah, some people are calling it the spiral tap. I've seen that a bunch of times.
I believe the spinal tap, you have to land on your spine.
So that's why you land on your back. And she didn't.
So. I think it was. But regardless, it was beautiful. The whole match, man, it was truly I I go back to that thing I said about the thing of uh beauty is a joy forever. That's one of those matches that I'm gonna go back and and rewatch probably at least ten times before it's all said.
Well, it was That's amazing of a match. You took two competitors at the top of their game, two women who. who are not just Amongst the best women wrestlers, but wrestler Period. on the planet and It was amazing to watch those two, you know, just go out there and put on a show. And that's.
exactly what they did, man. What an awesome. I'm like replaying it in my head right now. What an awesome match. Like, it was just, they moved like water.
Like, it was just fluid. Thing after the other, it didn't feel, there's just something about it that let you know you're looking at something different. You're looking at something different, something special, exactly. And They had fought this. Quick because since we're talking Stephanie, I gotta Shirt that I wore today on the Rich Eisen show.
Absolutely, well. Big chat. And They had thought twice before, but both of those times ended in No context.
So it was um It was something that we were waiting to see. What the choice was going to be. You're going to give it to the vet. Or are they strapping the rocket to The care. She got the dub.
But You know? I got a little controversy. How so? Both their shoulders were on the map, bro. It wasn't a clean pin.
I didn't notice that when I re-watched it. Are you sure, Stephanie's word? Both of them? Bro, it was not a clean pant. Like, I'm like.
She's laying on her back. EO is basically on her head. For that pin. I see a different angle, but I don't think that's going to come back to play, though. I think that just is what it is.
I don't think that's a line that, like, it will be like my shoulder wasn't. You know, I just think it was what it was. Uh Hey, if I'm writing that down, I'm holding that in my pocket for a promo. I'm pulling that in my pocket for a promo. Oh, but it tells me I don't think that that's going to be the case with this one, though.
But you know, the cool thing is, though, we got to because, like I said, with Stephanie, you know, we helped put the name Devil's Kiss out there, and then. To see her, we've seen it in person before, but to see it again in person, um, yeah, it's again. I keep quoting Kadeem from Man Can't Jump, a thing of beauty is a joy forever. You gotta go watch the movie Doonite, man. You know what I'm saying?
But yeah, like Stephanie is so good, man. She's just excellent at what she does. You can see her when she speaks from the time she did the interview with us until now, like the confidence in her English has grown. Um She's just special and EO is special. And it was amazing just to get to see those two women go out there and do what they do as well, if not better than anybody else.
And, you know, I know we always said we don't do match rankings, but I'm going to give that 10 out of 10, you know, 11. That's how good it is. I was very, you know, that was one of those matches that we had circled for, you know, since we. found out that Naomi had to vacate the title. We knew that the care I really didn't know where that original match between Naomi and Vicare was going to go because I feel like Naomi.
Yeah, I felt like Naomi was in such a spot of just Entertainer on Top of Just in her bag. And Finally, had reached the mountaintop again. And there were so many people that. While she is being a heel, we're just so naturally happy for Naomi. That I really didn't know.
I really didn't know where they were going to go with that Clash in Paris match. 'Cause it it could have gone either way. Putting the rocket on the care. I would have just, I mean, you get why. But Naomi was in such a spot that I don't know if it would have been such an easy decision to do that.
But obviously Big Jim ruined that for everybody. But that's not his fault. Yeah, thanks, Big Jim. Good luck, man. She kept tempting Big Jim.
And, you know, temptation to the blessed is hard to resist. Uh, yeah, so, but and you know, and and and sister trend being sister trend, she's still wilding out on Twitter as she said, she put a tweet out: Stephanie Vaquer or Stephanie Velcro, or however she says her name today, uh, congratulations, uh, beep. And you better mail me my name plate. And then somebody wrote.
Somebody responded, make sure it's next day shipping too. And she wrote, I need them ASAP.
So she's still wilding out on Twitter. It's amazing. I hope. That we don't go the next 13-14 months and not see her. I hope she pops up just randomly at some point, just backstage to talk trash, just to remind people that you know, uh, she ain't going nowhere because she, yeah, at least at least come out, come out with the bump, yeah, with the caution baby on board or something, man.
Love that, people would love that. Yeah, we can't go, we can't go a year and a half without seeing Naomi. Not with the run she's been on, the best work she's done in her long career, man.
So. But hey, bringing life into the world is beautiful and congratulations to her. And man, do you know that baby is gonna have so much fun growing up? And athletically gifted for sure. And just imagine, like, your dad is according to everyone, is probably the funniest dude in the locker room, you know.
Yeah, that kid's prying for a very good life.
Now, we're gonna get back to the P L E, but I just reminded myself of something. To our friends over at Bleacher Report.
Now I know a list is strictly opinion based. There's nothing that says that your list is law and that we all got to follow that or anything like that. But when it comes to the twenty-five. Greatest, or the you know, the top 25, whatever y'all call y'all list. Naomi not on that list?
There's a bunch of people on that list. Pause. Influence Is a key factor in them being on the list. And I'm one of those people that believes. and influence impacting where you are.
At the end of the day, when we map out greatest careers and whatnot. And when I think about all the firsts. That Naomi is. For black people, I'm gonna just say what it is. There's no way that she isn't top twenty five.
When you're in the middle of I don't even know what you're talking about right now. The list? Oh, my brother. Let me let you know right now this is today. No, no, no, no, no.
This was before. This is probably three days before. Um Russell Palooza. But we never saw it. No, we never talked about it.
This was just strictly like something that the internet had a hold of. The list was And I'm going to read off this written out four days ago. Bleacher Report ranks the 25 greatest women's wrestlers in WWE history. We have at number one, Becky Lynch. Number two, Charlotte Flair.
Number three, Trish. Right there, Shay, you violated. You did something that you can't start a countdown list. Why you gave me number one? I don't care about the rest of the list now.
You got to start from the back and work your way down.
Now I know Becky Lynch has won. There ain't no more surprise now.
Well, I mean, she said it during the she said it during her promo that bleacher reports say she number one. I'm starting to 25 right now. Let's go from the bottom. Let's number 25, Michelle McCool. Number 24, Jacqueline.
Number twenty three. Ball McConnell. A little bit of cool. Loop huh? What you're saying.
But Nakano, right? It's also my boy Wilmer Valderama's daughter's name is Nakano. Wow. Yeah. Yo, that Wilmer, we got to kick it.
Yeah, so I think Bull Nakano is a little low on this list or a little high, depending on how you want. She should be straight powerhouse. Straight powerhouse of a woman. Twenty two Shana Baszler. 21 Alundra Blaze.
Number 20. Alundra Blaze. Come on now. No, I thought they was getting mad at her because of the But like. All right, because you've got Bull Nicano and Alundra Blaze in the 20s.
This is almost not a ballot list already, but keep going. Number 20, Liv Morgan. Number 19, Alexa Bliss. Number eighteen, AJ Lee. Number seventeen, Mickey James.
Number five. Stop You know how I feel about Mickey James. I love she's only number two to Oscar in my book of all time. My favorite. Mickey James team.
I don't like that. I don't like that. But I'm sorry. Lord, I'm probably going to interrupt you again, just to be honest. I feel you.
Listen, this is what the internet has been on, bro. Number 16, Italy. Number fifteen, Beth Phoenix. Number fourteen, the Bella Twins. Number thirteen, EO Scott.
13 as in after 12 and before 11 or 14. No, I don't like that either. 13. Number 12 page.
Okay, so Rhonda Rousey. The eleventh greatest Women's Wrestler of All Time. Ron DeRousey. I'll do browsing. I mean, this is not a knock on Ronda Rousey.
No, Ronald Robbie, whoop ass, but I'm talking about WWE history. Not even there, I mean, okay. WWE History Ten? That's what we got there. Yeah.
All right. Now we're in the tens. Number ten, Lita. Number nine, Oscar. Stop.
I don't care about the rest of this list. Russia solicit Davy. It's false. The only reason I'm not going to shut this down is because she's in the top 10. Other than that, if she had been in like 13 or something, I'd have broken her laptop.
But I'm sorry, you hike it. Number eight, China.
Okay. But Number seven, the longest reigning Raw Women's Champion of all time at number seven. Bianca Belair. She hasn't had that long of a career, though, either, man. Like, when you compare her career to, say, Asuka's career in terms of length and accomplishments.
I don't have any problem with her being there. It might even be a, you know, this is not a knock on Bianca. Um, but yeah, I'm okay with that. We're gonna be numbers. Number six, Bailey.
Number five, Asasha Banks, shout out. Number four, Rhea. Number three, Trish. Number two, Charlotte. Number one, Becky.
Naomi don't make that list. Yeah, that's a little the most money in the bank matches in women's history and a winner. Two time champ. Naomi. Even I mean look.
Jazz should have been on this list. Plain and simple. Like, let's, you know, I'm saying Jazz should have been on this list. Maybe Naomi should have been on this list. I'm trying to think of who else, man.
Um, anybody else you're thinking of that? I mean, look, Awesome Kong could have made this list. You know, uh I just don't I just don't see how Naomi Who I mean and for our listeners. Just take time. to look up A lot of the firsts.
That Naomi is? And tell me she don't deserve to be on the list. It's mind-boggling. But again, I don't get mad at these lists because, like I said, to either Miz or Rosenberg, wrestling is so subjective, right? What you like, someone else might like.
Someone else is going to have a list that's going to have a bunch of Joshi wrestlers on here, you know, didn't really, other than the WWE Japanese women. You know, there are so many great women's wrestlers out there throughout time.
So. I mean, like I said, the list is subjective.
Someone's opinion. I'm not going to get too riled up, even though I got a little riled up, but I mean, she's a two-time SmackDown women's champion, a A former tag team champion. She was TNA knockout champion and never lost. As world heavyweight champion, and she can't be in the top 25. There's some people on there that I don't even know if they want.
And she gave me a top 25. I need to pull it up again, but I just know. There's some people that are low.
Some people that I know are on here for their info. I like, I like Shayna Baszler, right? She's cool. Yeah. Shayna Baszler 22 all-time.
And no Naomi and she's never been a world champion? Yeah, never been a world champion, only NXT. And she was dominant in that XT. She did her thing. Dominant.
Dominant. Well I I don't see that. I don't see that. Yeah, like they're just saying I don't see Rhonda on there. Bro, I don't see Rhonda on it.
Yeah. And respect to them as actual fighters because they will. Beat your ass under a table. I'm in a bar. I'm snatching those.
Ladies, can you please help me? Please help. I'm going to sit back and have a drink. What's the point? Over Naomi, I don't feel that.
They don't feel good. Old school TJ would say Wendy Richter should definitely be on this list. Wendy Richter. was at the time when the rock and wrestling Connections started to happen in the late to the mid to late 80s. You know, it was her and Cindy Lauper when MTV and WWE had like a partnership going.
It was Cindy Lauper, Captain Lou Albano, and Wendy Richter, like taking on the fabulous Mula. Wendy Richter being with. You know, Cindy Lauper, you know, that would be the equal, you know, that would be the equal of. Because how big Cindy Lauper was, it would almost be like if you took. you know, Tiffany Stratton and put her with Taylor Swift.
You know what I mean? That's how important Cindy Lauper was at that moment. Yeah. Uh yeah, so Yeah, I I have ready where She's got to be on my list. The fact that the fabulous Mula or Mae Young is.
That's a little, and I can understand, you know, there's some stuff about Mula that people don't like, but Mae Young, we saw, you know, Queen of the Ring. You know, we we know. Yeah. Yeah. Well, just just here here's four.
Naomi was the first. Black super This is one of those crazy things that when we were interviewing her, remember, we were going over the list. She's the first black SmackDown women's champion, first Black women's tag team champions. She was a part of them. First black woman to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.
And according to the records, because I remember looking it up with you, and we were like, no, what about Simmons? What about Rock? What about. First black superstar to win a world title at WrestleMania. She can't be on the 25.
What about Mildred Burke? There's a whole movie made about Queen of the Ring. Queen of the Ring. You didn't even have Mildred Burke on your list? Like, yeah, I don't know.
Maybe we got to work on our own no-contest lists. You know, because we do lists every now and then. You're about to get me cussed out. I get cussed out every day already. We haven't done a list in a while.
The last time, what did we do? We did best drop kicks.
So we got to get. Yeah. And there were some people we missed on that. We got to get back in that because I told you our guy Manny from El Paso, Tech. I think Manny's from El Paso in Texas.
Regular caller to the Rich Eisen show. He'll call in and like ask me if you and I can, you know, let he was the one who said best drop kicks. He also asked for our favorite painted face wrestlers and our favorite clotheslines.
So maybe when you come back to town in like two weeks, we'll start that up again when you're back in studio. But yeah, there's maybe we'll make our own list of women that got left off of this list. Yes, I love that. I love that idea. But keep it moving.
Yeah, I just had to give Naomi her flowers because you know we love.
So like Blazer report do better.
Next, you know, my favorite match. Of the night, just because of how on the edge of my seat I was. First strain of the show see O Kong Bring it back. It is late. Yep.
AJ Lee. The mixed tag between them and Seth. And back. And starting off Seth and Becky's entrance, you're like. You hear the music and you're like, where are they at?
And then you look up and they're coming down on risers. Dressed in not purple. With fire, it was, it was dope. It was dope. Them just getting lowered.
You hadn't, I mean, I could think of, you know, Shawn Michael and you know, one of those two WrestleMania matches against Taker. He did kind of the same thing when he was all in white, but Seth and Becky just getting lowered down. That was, that was pretty ill. You know, Seth is always, you know, the gear is always, people have a problem with the way they dress. To me, it's like.
How do you want them? They are WWE superstars. They're larger than life. They should not be dressed like an average Joe walking down the street. Like, yeah, like, this is pumping circumstance.
You know, when Seth have the Anthony Edwards on, you know, I'm always checking out. You know what I'm feeling? You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And I saw a post on Twitter.
the colors that they were actually wearing. Um You know, I gotta fact check this, but before I looked at it, it was the truth. Yeah, yeah, exactly. It was, you know, about mental health, bringing awareness to mental health. And those dealing with suicidal thoughts or any other tendencies that cause Self-harm, just bringing awareness to them while Punk in AJ.
AJ had obviously the multicolor on the bottom of her sneakers for. Call the rainbow different. Yeah, the rainbow for it. LGBTQ. And so it was a Yeah, it was using their platform, using their gear.
to give a slight nod, which Even even if I don't wanna like Seth and Becky. That's super cool for them to do.
So, you know, I can't knock it. But they put on a hell of a match, too. Yeah, AJ coming out, really, that was the pop we wanted. And, you know, we kind of, you, Miz, and myself, we kind of predicted. And I told Miz, I don't think AJ starts the match, if you recall.
I was like, yeah, they got to tease that. Want to tease that and get her that pop.
So immediately, what happens is. Who's in the ring first? Becky and AJ. And then Seth, I think, tagged and he came in.
So AJ left. I was like, okay, so it can still be this way. And then. She finally got the, she got in, she got the pop. Look, it's been 10 years since Zayj Lee.
had been in the wrestling ring. In that computer. Capacity.
Now, I know she did the TV show Hills, I believe.
So I'm sure. Obviously, you know, she's been in the ring, but in front of a crowd like that. And yeah, there's always going to be a little rust when you've been gone that long. But, bro, I thought. She looked phenomenal.
And I can honestly say that's probably going to be the worst match that she has going forward. And I don't think it was worse. I'm just saying, like, that was the first one back. She's still cool. I think I told you at one point, I was like, She's still so smooth, man.
Yeah. Absolutely. It was like riding a bike. She got in there. And also it speaks to your opponent.
It speaks to who you're in the ring with. And The match was fun. It had its heavy, serious moments. It had its fun. False finishes.
It had its funny moments when the When the uh the husbands separated the opposite wives and then the wives had to separate the husbands. Like that's just it's it's entertainment. I had a good time. At one point Seth like fell out the ring and he's laying right in front of us. And I leaned the barrier.
I was like, yo, Seth, you got to get up. They ain't going to buy this again, man. Yeah, there's another instance. Where CM Punk fell in front of us. I said, Phil, I know this isn't a good time.
But uh I think you got this. He looks up, he goes. Government names and it wasn't I mean, it ran in the ring. Like, yeah, I mean, I've called you Phil our entire lives. Like, you're Phil, bro.
And later on backstage, he told me, he was like, I thought you were just some random guy. I was about to. killed you and then i saw it was you And at one point, AJ threw Becky up against the barricade. She literally almost flew over and landed on our lap. By the way, halfway over and then back over, but yeah, it was, you know, I'm reading a lot of stuff online.
I swear, man.
Some of you wrestling fans, just you can't be happy, man. You just want perfection. You just can't have fun. This should be fun. You know what I mean?
To see husbands and wives going out there and just. I don't know, to see someone who people have wanted for so long to come back and then see her back in her element and looking so good. Like. You know, people just complaining about stuff, man. It's just like you have to.
With it, yo. I mean, you know, I know we all ESPN chairman, but even The reporter by the name of uh An Andreas or Andreas. Hale giving that match a C. Did you not hear the crowd? Were you not there?
Did you not get the the seats? Did you not hear the This Is Awesome? Or holy shit chance? Going throughout the arena. It was Everything you needed that match to be.
And I mean, I was entertained. Did it go a little long? Yeah, sure.
Okay, fine. Maybe it was a little long. Was it a perfect match? No. You know how hard it is to have a perfect wrestling match, though, man?
Very tough. I was thoroughly entertained. I had big fun. It was great to see AJ in there. You realize, but Becky really is very, very, very, very, well, you should already know this, that she's very good.
Uh Seth and Punk. I mean, yeah, dude. Like, and I'm and I said something. To you and Miz during the pre-pre-show that Miz kind of lit up at. He's like, I like that idea.
And that is. I th why not Why don't we see another match, another mixtag match, where the stipulation is? Winner take off.
So being if Seth and Becky lose to AJ M Punk. Then the IC title and the world title. Go to them. But if Becky and Seth beat AJ and Punk, then their stipulation is they have to leave and never come back. Yeah.
Or just go to SmackDown. You have to have that. It has to seem like a finale. And obviously, you'd have Punk and AJ go over, but that should be that's what Seth would do because he hates him so much that he'd want him gone.
So, you know, that's a little we like to call. Creative liberties. Here is no cocktail. But why not? And Mitch said he loved it, so that's good enough for me.
Right. He's awesome. Uh but great time AJ made Becky tap out, even though Becky then immediately got on Twitter and said that there was a bee flying around her and she didn't really tap. She was trying to swipe the bee away. And you know what?
I'm not going to call Becky a liar. You know, I didn't see the bee, but I wasn't that close to her.
So maybe that is the case. Jessica Carr called her a liar immediately. At one point, they were just going at it on the floor and Jessica was sitting there and she. She just had lost all control. And I yelled, Jessica, you gotta do something.
Yeah, right. Come on, dog.
It was just wild, man, but yeah, n yeah. The the one spot where Punk and Seth are on one table, Becky and AJ on the other table, going for, I guess, maybe a power bomb or a rock bottom maybe that becky had and then she Shoved AJ into punk, speared him, and then him and Seth go down. And the table just erupted, just blew up. Those tables ain't made by Granger, that's for sure. And that's a rich Isaiah.
I see you. Yeah, the Granger table. Maybe that's what I take that back. They don't want Granger tables because they need these tables to break. Right, right.
It ain't gonna break.
So, you know. I hope they do again. There's a reason Chevy trucks are known for their dependability, because they show up no matter the weather, push forward no matter the terrain, and deliver. Fight forever, as they say. And then finally we ended it with Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre. And I'm gonna be keeping G real. Out the men are rushed Yeah, right. Felt a little rushed.
Which definitely wasn't the best match we could have got out of those two. Yeah. Um There was really the build up to it wasn't that that great. Yeah. But, you know, hey, it is what it is.
I, we actually, or at least Miz and I thought, I think you picked Cody, I thought that. Drew was going to take the title. I really did. I felt, you know, it was going to be his time. Fortunately for him, it wasn't.
And he included it. who went for that like boot through the announce table and then looks like he may have Broken or injured his ankle because after the match, he's he again, he's laying right in front of us. takes his boot off and he looked like he was paying the referee through the X up. Through the X. Don't throw the X up unless it's really real.
Yeah, it's not for play play. Then again, you don't pretend like you blew your knee out and then come on the Rich Eisen show and lie to TJ Jefferson about your knee being hurt. You don't do that either. I don't believe nothing no more. I don't believe nothing no more.
We don't know how that goes, but Cody gets the dub. Cody gets victory. He will see Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel. See if he can get another one of those. Big old Super Bowl rings that they keep giving them.
Uh right that's what it looks like On Roddy Night, he says he has nine more digits and he wants to fill them up with rings.
So Yeah, I mean, the all overall tonight was really just a build-up for Crown Jewel. And I think we can expect that. And you know, the thing about the these crown jewels is They're like non-canon events. Like, they don't really mess with. The main storyline too much.
You know, we know what it is when we're looking at it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So it's. It's a little it's a little s main storyline break.
I think the most interesting thing right now is Asika. Uh and and Kyrie Finally, hitting the switch and going up against EO. In the main event tonight, Rhea Ripley got hit with the mist, and I ain't never seen somebody get hit with the mist so damn well. Let me explain a whole different color. I've seen the greatest mysters of all time, and I'm going back to the great Kabuki.
I'm going back to the great Mutah. Going to Killer Con. I'm going to, man, there's just so many others that have missed it. But yeah, that was a lot of miss that Asuka hit Rio. Rhea is a whole different species right now.
I mean, if they were casting She-Hulk now, all a producer would need to do is watch this last episode in Raw and see this gigantic green woman and be like, oh, that's her She-Hulk. That's her right there. But yeah, that you know, that was probably the most exciting thing. Pinta. Pits have hit Grayson Waller with the meanest.
Um, bro, Avalanche, Mexican driver, destroyer, I mean, like. My God. Uh we need to check on uh our our buddy down under.
Next slide.
Next week we're getting Ruseff against Dirty Dom for the IC title. Yeah, there's always turmoil in the Judgment Day. We'll see how they go with that. But Also she's just Sorry to interrupt. I was going to say to cap off our WrestlePaloza night, we went backstage as well.
We fear that is one thing we're forgetting. Stephanie McMahon getting her flowers. Undertaker comes riding the bike out and we're all like. You know, of course you're like, you hear the gong, you're like, oh. But why is Taker coming up?
We need Pulls his bike in front of Steph. She was down the. The road from Essen He. start talking to her, he climbs over, he sits down and then you know he let gives her the news that she's officially going into the the 2026 class of the Hall of Fame, and she looks stunned, man. She, Yeah, really did.
And you know, Good for her. You know, Stefan's been a lifer in that business. She's probably the most powerful woman. you know that as a character that there's ever been In WWE. And also, you know, when we met her at Fanatics Fest, like.
Couldn't have been nicer. Like, impossible for her to be sweeter and a nicer human being. And you just. You know, she comes over to me because you were like, Hey, I'm here with my friend, but he doesn't want to come over. He doesn't want to bother you.
And she's like, Oh, let's go talk to him. And then, like I said in the show, I'm sitting there eating it. And out of the corner of my eye, I see you, her power walking towards me. And I like hurry up and finish. And I sat, put my fork down.
I'm like, uh, and she's like, Doesn't want to come say hi to me. Opened arms, hugs me, embraced. Yeah, I was like, wow, this is Stephanie McMahon, bro. Yeah. Good sound.
Just a little little inside scoop to our fans out there. Uh We haven't picked a date yet. but from Stephanie herself She would love to be a guest on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. Yeah. Pretty, I don't know if you guys know.
pretty big And yeah, I can't wait to. Can you imagine the story she got? Oh my goodness. Yeah. So, you know, the show that was great, you know, and we had fun.
I think it was slightly better than the C that they're giving everybody, maybe not an A. Because it's hard. There was only five matches, you know, but five was almost perfect. You didn't, you know, it was like, it felt like you got in and then you got out. You know One thing I'm a little surprised they didn't do is maybe Bring some more of the legends out.
Like, this is your first foray into ESPN. We got the Taker, that was great. Kind of felt like I'm surprised, not saying it was necessary, but I'm surprised that there weren't more legends that people who Maybe watching really for the first time would go, oh, I've heard of that guy, or I've heard of that guy, but you know, hey, you can't.
Okay. You know what I was expecting. What's that? I was, you know, like, I just can't. I couldn't imagine the world without hearing.
And so I'm still to this day.
So yeah, waiting for that. Lot of fun being in the front row, man. Like, and I mentioned this, being, you know, as a kid growing up in Altoona. Going to watch wrestling at the Jaffa Mosque, man, and sitting basically at the top of the arena. To be blessed enough to be able to sit front row in green shirt guy, you know what I'm saying?
But like, that was pretty dope to be right there and you know, and see the action up that close. And then we uh we made our way back because we were leaving. We thought we were going to shoot a wrap-up show, but I think things went on so long that we didn't have time for it.
So As we're sitting there. You start talking to either one of the cameramen or one of the ring guys. Tell me what that conversation was before you got what you got because I didn't hear it. What was said to you It may not tell what was got. I may or may not.
have gotten tapped on the shoulder. I may or may not. have been told Hey. Did you have a good time? Yeah, man, I I I loved it, man.
Like I'm living out a childhood dream every time I come to one of these. You want the turnbuckle? Excuse me, you are a turnbuckle. Her donut. Yeah.
Uh Yeah. I'm going to get you to war with the W. Boy, I hope I don't get in trouble.
Okay. So ladies and gentlemen. That is a turnbuckle from the ring, from the first ever WrestlePalooza. And then I saw you got the turnbuckle, and I was like, yo, that's dope. You got a turnbuckle?
Our friend Jade, you know, she was shooting the gift. First of all, our friend Jade, she had me cracking up the whole show. You know, she was, she made Brock Lesnar kind of smile by yelling. Don Cena was just a boy. I was scared.
I was like, Jade, would you shut up? Don't yell at that. You're going to get us killed. That he literally smirked, and I was like, oh my God. Did something to the guy?
And then the next thing I know, he walks away and I'm looking at Trize like, yo, that's really dope, bro. And then the next thing you know. You're both. Look at that. Would you look at that?
Would you look at it?
So, you and I have the turnbuckle, two of the turnbuckles. From the ring from the first ever ESPN WWE. PLE WrestlePalooza, allegedly, because unless if they do one of them damn treasure hunting shows again, I do not have that. Oh, I had because they offer you money for it. I'm going to say no.
I'm going to say no, but I'll let him display it. Yeah, yeah, 'cause I don't I don't Hold on, let me tuck this. Yeah, I ain't got no money, bro. You know, wait a second, wait a second. Yeah.
I see why it gets exposed. This mark is thick, pause, and yeah, so. Walked out with which was dope in itself. And of course, you know, when you sit in the first few rows at a PLE. They have, you know, custom chairs.
So we got some custom chairs. Our boy Tom mailed it out today, too. One of Indianapolis, Indiana's finest officers, our boy Tom, right? Yeah, Tom Wells. Tell Melissa he was hanging out with us, and he just randomly said, Do you want me to mail those for you?
And we're like, What? Yeah, sure.
Shout out to Tom. Thanks for watching us. And then. Before we left, one of the do you remember that cameraman that we were talking? I met him before, the one up front.
Yeah, yeah. Tripping, but he goes, Hey. You guys want to do our podcast? And we're like, well, what do you mean? He goes, the cameraman, we all want to do a podcast.
We want you guys on. It was like, heck yeah. And I go, we actually asked for Stew, but we never got a response. And he was like, yeah, you know, that happens. But one day we were going to start our own podcast, right?
So dope. Yeah, just let us know.
So we walk in the back. You know, we're backstage. People are milling about. And this one guy comes up to us and he asked us a question. Oh, he goes, Yeah, I heard you got asked to be on our podcast.
And we were like, yeah, you know, somebody asked, and I said, look, we've wanted to get Cameraman before. I said, I specifically requested Stu and I never heard anything back. And he looked at me, he goes, I'm still. I was like, wait, what? I plopped harder.
I was like, wait a minute, you're Stew? And I hugs too. Because if you know, if you've watched any of John Cena's matches, you know, he comes out, he has his towel up, and he always is like, let's go to work, Stu, or Stu, let's do this. And as he runs, Stu's the guy with the handheld Jim follow him to the ring for years and years and years.
So we've always heard the name Stu. Never saw Stu.
So we got a picture with Stu. We'll have D'Lo pop that up right here. But yeah, got to chop it up with Stu a little bit. He made sure that Tyrese Halliburton was back there. We got to sit with him.
And then Sue was like, all right, my work here is done. And then the funniest part of the night comes.
So we're walking down towards the buses. And who do I see? And who sees me and just waves me over? His damn friend. But Kobe, my boy, Seth Rollins.
And so I'm like, this is going to be interesting because by the buses, it was Ms. Ben. Seth And I think, yeah, I think that was it. Just those three, right? And then we come walk them down.
And, oh, and Brian Dipperson, who is the manager of. Becky, Seth, and Miss. What up, Dip? Oh, nice.
So, you know, Seth comes over and like. You know, of course, I asked him again, like I did the first time, you good? Is everything okay? He was like, Yeah. And then, you know, Becky immediately, you know, we talked about her almost getting thrown on us.
First thing Becky says is like, oh my God, did I land on you? I'm so sorry. And I was like, anyway, I got to say this without ruining her care, without ruining her character. Becky, and I'm good on picking up vibrations. It's just.
I've always been good. Good at just like you know, getting a feel for people, and I can tell you this without fail. Becky Lynch is, and I hate saying this because it's going to maybe mess up her character, maybe one of the nicest people I've ever seen. What a sweetheart. What I mean She was just, she's so dumb.
Go. And we only really, you know, we talked to her at the beginning when the little scenic kids were coming through. We saw her. She immediately asked how we were doing, blah, blah, blah. Chopped it up with her a little bit.
Um, Yeah, man, Becky just so cool. And then you and Seth, I, you know. I wasn't really sure what your combo was, but it looked like you guys were like, it was a nice combo you had. Your hatred for Seth Rollins didn't come out because at that point, I think you were speaking to Colby. You know, I told him.
I I told him, I was like, bro, I want you to know I'm feuding with you. Every show. Every show I'm feeling. It just means it just means you're good at your job. That's why Inu.
In the picture we may or may not have Taken.
Well, it'll be, that picture will pop up, right? No. You see the pose? I wasn't trying to be happy. I'm a little far away.
I'm a little far away from everybody. He did that on purpose. You know, the thing is, there's no way you walked away not liking those two. That's for sure. And then, like, of course, when I meet them, the Chicago Bears win their first game.
Thanks, TJ. You don't even know like how bad that was for me because I As you know, Ashton Kutcher is one of my best friends and You know, for a while, I've been saying I need to hook you and Seth up, big Bears fans.
So I put us on the group chat yesterday, and that was not the right play because the Bears dug in the Cowboys back. And those two in that group chat, I just got slaughtered. And if you go on the contest Instagram page, I talked about it on the Rich Eisen show today. It's there on the Instagram page. Check it out.
Yeah, man.
At one point, Seth wrote, Suck it, TJ. I'm like, I ain't deserve this. Nice. Ashton's making videos, singing Bear down, sending it to Seth. And then, you know, my godson Bear, who by the way, gave me a cold.
I don't know if you could tell, Bear got me sick.
So I'm not that great. You know, he or wait, Seth Rollins, he runs in the room, puts on his bear jersey. He starts making a video, and I'm sitting there like, why did I do this? Yeah. You're a masochist, bro.
You like punishment. You weird. You a freak.
Okay. But yeah, man.
So, all in all, it was a really great, great moment. We had a great time. We even got to talk to Punk and AJ Lee. Yeah, we did. Yeah, so as we were going further in the back, then we ran into Punk and AJ, and it was great to see Punk because, you know, I had.
You know, I hadn't seen him since he did our podcast, since he really put us on the map. And of course, he's like, Oh, this is my wife, AJ. I'm like, I know who she is, man. You know, and uh, it just so happens another one of my friends, not trying to name drop, but Wilmer Valderama is a friend of mine, and his production company, I think him and AJ, are working on something.
So he told me that when he and I were at the Canelo Crawford fight, but you know, me and Wilmer, we mess with each other all the time. And Wilmer was like, No, I told her about you and your podcast. You should try to get her on. I'm like, Yeah, right.
So I meet AJ and I bring up the fact that Wilmer and I are one of Wilmer's one of my best friends for 25 years. And she's like, Yeah, he brought you up to me. And I was like, Oh, that dude wasn't lying.
So then I text him that, and then he called me and he cussed me out for about three minutes. Like, yeah, what do you think about the honey? That's what we do. But yeah, it was. It was amazing.
It was amazing. Start to finish. We got to do something. You know, I think the first words I ever said on ESPN, I quoted. Kanye from Nas's song Dreams, where I said one, two, one, two, some dreams stay dreams, some dreams come true, because that's what it felt like.
It felt like a dream come true. Absolutely. Also, shout out to who we saw in the hallway, the great Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed. Uh we you know It was a great, great exit, man. It was an all-around great night.
We appreciate everybody who stayed and listened to us talk about how much fun we had. But uh When we started this today, I told you, you know, I was feeling sick, and I was like, I don't think I got, I think we've gone over an hour, and we still got a little bit more for you because. We got an interview with Dominic. Oh my God.
So let's uh But you know, we've done enough talking for a minute. Let's go ahead and spend the 10 minutes right now. Our next guest, TJ, for the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, he is a two-time Money in the Bank winner, a two-time Grand Slam champion, 25th Triple Crown champion in the history of the company, a nine-time tag team champion, two-time United States, eight-time Intercontinental, and two-time WWE champion. He's from Cleveland, 20-plus-year vets, had some time in Los Angeles, but we're not talking about LeBron James. We're talking about The Miz.
That's what I'm talking about. Thank you very much. Spoke of the Miz, dude. It's good to be on the number one wrestling podcast. Trying to tell you.
It's good to have you. Trying to tell you, man. It's good to have you, man. We met on the set of the Rich Eisen Show when you hosted. I shadowed you to see how my day of hosting was going to go.
So it's good to see you. And it went well, by the way. I watched you crushed it. Crushed it. Crushed it, dude.
It was good stuff. Yeah, so he brought some A-listers after working with the A-lister. You see how that works. I cheated and asked Ice Cube at the end.
Well, you know, if you got to. I like that he's Ice Cube, not dad. He's a guest, dude. He's a guest. Have you ever ice cubed him, by the way?
Never. Have you ever been like, hey, Cube, you wait for me? On the show, would you have just gotten beaten down? Like, I am dad. No, it's just AD.
He would give me such a look of distaste that I don't know how he would take it.
So that's why, first time ever, it was on the Rich Isen show. I tried to show him like, so cube. And it was like a weird look. How do your friends, by the way, get introduced to him? Like, are they like Ice Cube or is it like Mr.
Really? Mr. Jackson, yeah. Wow. And the most they'll ever get is a, how you doing?
And that's it. That's it. That's really it. All right. That's your sign of approval.
All right. What brain busters do you got for me today? Kelly Blanchard and Norton Anderson. Boom. You said brain buster, right?
Oh, hey now. Oh, no. All right, now we are. We're live. We're live, everybody.
All right, so something out. All right, you want a question that I don't know if you've gotten it before, but it's something that I. I like to ask anyone who's won, you know, the big boy, you know, the. Title of all titles, the WWE Championship. You know, take us through.
That first night Laying your head on the pillow after everything that you had been through. Everything you've done through. Everything that, you know, all the people getting on you. All the naysayers. Yes, the naysayers.
When you finally. after calling your shot years ago. Finally, getting the WWE title, what was that first night laying your head on the pillow as champion of the world? I'm gonna go before that, okay?
So before that, I have money in the bank. Everyone is talking about how I'm going to be the first ever To cash in the money in the bank and lose. Up until then, no one's cashed in and lost yet. Everyone's like, the Miz will be the guy. He'll be the one guy that does it.
So I get to Orlando. that day. And I kind of find out. You're gonna cash in today. And when?
Ugh.
Now, I wanted to keep a secret, like obviously, but I remember I did something on the show before this. Because it was the, I believe it was the main event, and it was Randy Orton versus the entire Nexus team. He was going up against all the characters of Nexus, the superstars. And I was gonna go in, he was gonna get injured, cash in, go after the leg. And by the way, previous to this, we were having promo classes.
And during that promo classes with Vince McMahon, that pay He wanted us to Get our inner animal out.
So we'd had to cut promos like dogs. I watched Seamus and Wade Barrett. Cut a promo as dogs. You don't know force? And I'm telling you, like, that was promo class that day.
But honestly, When I got in that match, and if you watch that match back, you can see, like, I am literally channeling. An inner animal. I am seeing the injury. And when an animal sees an injury, that's your target. That's where you go.
When a shark smells blood in the water, they target that, right?
So that's what my mindset was.
So it helped, that promo class helped me get into that lock into that mode, right?
So I go after Randy Orton, I hit the Skull Crushing finale, I pin him one, two, three. And so many emotion like you don't understand. what happens in that instance. Because everything Slows down but speeds way back up, right?
So everything slows down where I hear one, two, three. I'm so excited because I know I have to celebrate because I'm so conditioned. When you win, you celebrate bigger because then everyone can see. The last people up there can see. But emotionally and inside, I'm going, oh my God, oh my God, it actually happened.
It actually happened. Yes, yes. And then all of a sudden, you feel. The the the kind of almost everything you've been through. Getting kicked out of the locker room.
Every day going to Deep South wrestling and Telling myself, one more day you can do it. One more day, this is so tough. This is the toughest thing I've ever had to endure. Like, my body aches. My mind is going every which way because I feel like I should be somewhere, but I'm not where I want to be.
And I have to keep trying, keep struggling. And then you get to WWE, you get kicked out of the locker room. Nobody likes you. Everyone's telling you you're gonna get kicked out and you're gonna get fired within three months. All these things are going in my head in that moment.
And this is within three seconds. Yeah. You know what I mean? And then all of a sudden I get up on the second rope and I feel myself being like, yeah, and seeing the crowd kind of react in both. Awe, cheering, and booing.
Yeah. Like seeing, and then like being up there and seeing the audience, I almost was in tears, but then I'm sitting there thinking, you can't cry right now. Not right now. You're the WWE champion. Like, you see Austin crying.
You see The Rock crying. You know, no, you want to be that guy.
So you're like, yes, I am the guy. But you also feel an immense amount of pressure because you know what comes with a WWE championship. You are now the face of the company. You are what everybody is set out to be and do. And it's in November.
And so I know WrestleMania is coming up and am I going to keep this title for that long?
So you're going through all these emotions.
So then I get backstage and people are clapping. Backstage, shaking my hands. I went up to Vince. I told him, I won't let you down. You made the right decision.
Because Nobody really knows this, but Vince was on me. From whenever I lost to John Cena at the Great American Bash, and I just got mopped the floor with. Vince was on me. You need to be start taking s be serious. You you can't be such a goof.
You're too goofy. Goofy doesn't sell. I want you to put asses in seats. And so I'm like, yes, sir.
So after every match, he would literally just be like, you need to do this better. You need to do this better. You need to do this better. I've seen him do it with many talent, but then he was taking an interest in me. And I was like, and I was a sponge.
And not only did I have him, but I had Randy Orton to work with live events. I had John Cena to work with live events. I had Sean Michaels take me back and literally saying, Mike, this is what you need to be doing. Hunter would take me aside and he would show me how to punch because he didn't like my punches. Like these, all these veterans now were taking me aside and doing that.
And so as I was getting uplifted, winning the United States Championship, winning the tag team titles, winning money in the bank, I was, I was. learning stuff and learning and learning.
So then all that came to there.
So that night. Everyone claps, everyone shakes my hand. You know, where do you go? Do you go celebrate? I mean, right?
Like, we're in Orlando. Let's go to a club. Man, I went to Denny's. Yeah, Denny's and had a barbecue chicken skillet. Yeah, a chicken chicken.
And with my soon-to-be wife. Greece.
So that's how we celebrated my WWE championship. We went to Denny's on a date and we went back and we were exhausted. We went to sleep. Flew the next day to LA and Started my journey on literally doing everything and anything I possibly could to be the best WWE champion I could be.
Now, what's the bigger F you to the naysayers? Getting that first title. Or getting number one in uh PWR. Because that, you know what, you know, that was a backhanded compliment. Because I, when they told me that I was getting number one in PWI, I did an interview and I was like, man, this is really special.
Because I remember the first time I was in PWI, I was like number 400. It was my first year in wrestling. I didn't think anyone knew I was actually doing it, but I got in and I was like, oh my God.
So every year I'd look to see what number I was. And when I got into WWE, I kind of let it. Go because I didn't really care anymore. But then, when they told me I was number one, I was like, this. This is amazing.
And then I read the article. We really didn't want to give it to this guy. Of course. You can't deny the year he had. And I was like, you know, you couldn't just have been like, he deserves it.
No, you know, he's our number one. It was like, I know it's going to upset everyone. But no one had the year like The Miz. I had the United States title and the team championships all at the same time. I had three titles.
Yeah. No one does that in WW. I had the Money in the Bank. I had WrestleMania. I won as a bad guy in the main event of WrestleMania.
That doesn't happen. And you were number one and also most hated in those stadiums in the same year. Amazing.
So I'll take that one. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. You know, when you think back to your reality days and the way that we all, most of us got introduced to you, is you on Real World going to the KB toy store or wherever you were, and you bought that replica title. Did that p Did that go through your mind when you were holding the real title?
You started there, man, and and Nobody thought that this was going to be happening for you and it happened and you You made it to the top of the mountain. Did that did that And when I was on the real world, I wasn't even thinking about being in the WWE. I was just trying to. Again uh I was just trying to be comfortable, right? You go to New York, like I'm from Parma, Ohio.
Went to Maimou, Ohio. When you're thrusted upon the real world, especially back then, that was the show. MTV was the network. I know everyone now is like, what are you talking about? Like, MTV was it.
Yeah, man.
We all realized it. The real world was it. It was the number one show out there. Every week, every time there's a new episode, it was the number one show. That and Raw, right?
Were the number one shows on cable.
So when I went on that show, seven strangers, and literally you have a camera on you at all times. And I was just, I was just not making friends at all. Everyone hated me. I was uncomfortable. I was in New York City.
I was in a new place didn't have my friends didn't have anybody and didn't really have anyone to talk to.
So all of a sudden, I just started saying, you know what? I would just start drinking and just create a character called The Miz that I'd learned on wrestling. You know, I was like, you know what? I'm just going to start cutting promos on people. And everyone started liking The Miz more than they liked Mike.
So they'd be like, hey, do the Miz, do the Miz, do the Miz.
So then when I got done with that, like my friends got me a rock action figure, went back to my house in Cleveland, and I was like, well, what am I gonna do? Am I gonna go back to Mime of Ohio? going business classes that I'm failing out of. Or Do I want to pursue something more? And I was like, I'm going to be a professional wrestler.
Everyone laughed at me. Yeah. It worked. And now looking at it. I don't think, you know, looking back at your long career, that you got enough credit.
I don't think you got the credit you deserve because now today, you know, the influencers, everyone wants to be an influencer and they're held in regard. But back in the day, it wasn't the same thing. And for you to take the journey that you did, we as wrestling fans, that was one of us. You would have applauded. He was one of us and he made it.
And yet, I don't think you got the love that you got. You deserved something. That was an outsider. But now it's great to see that you are, after all. It took a while, but to see that you actually have gotten the love and the respect because the travel, the path you took was.
It was uncommon. I mean, look what Logan Paul's doing right now. Exactly. Cleveland's outsider, right? Cleveland zone.
Who was the first outsider? Who was the first person that came into this industry and literally nobody wanted? Because let's face it, we're a pact here. We're a family here in wrestling, and nobody comes into our family just to be a 15 minutes of fame. We want to see if you want to earn it.
We want to see if you are a mainstay. I have to love it. You're going to be here. You have the love for this business. And so I had to prove myself to everyone and continue to prove myself, just like Logan Paul is going to continue to have to prove himself each and every time he goes out into that ring.
Now, we got, you know, I'm getting the wave, so we got to ask you our number one question. All right. You're in a bar. Yes. There's 50 dudes in that bar, and they can't stand the Miz.
They're haters. Haters. I've had this happen, actually. I need you to pick a little screen shake of you and four other superstars to make sure The Miz is getting in the car.
Well, the Usos are number one and two. All right. Because it's happened. All right. Shout out to the Us.
And I'll never forget. Guy just like, literally, we were just hanging out. I'll never forget. I don't remember, man. We were after like a Monday night raw or Friday night SmackDown.
We were kind of eating, and a dude just came, hey, little Miz from Real World, blah, blah, blah. And. Let me tell you something. The Usos don't play. The Usos don't play, so they've always had my back.
ever since day one. And to this day, so I will always take the Usos, and honestly, I'll take any Samoan. If any Samoan makes it, I'm telling you, they are the toughest. Umaga. Yes.
Give me Umaga all day, every day, and I'll take Jacob too. Oh, yeah. It's a solid.
So is that my souls and umaga and Jacob? Yeah, I'm taking all Samoans all day long because they just have that. And by the way, in the ring, if you're in the ring with a Samoan, and I know a lot of people won't understand this. Samoans are just so smooth and so good. There's a reason why Jimmy and Jay are at the top of where they're at, where they become as a tag team.
And the reason they're there is because of how good they truly are. And I think Jacob. The world is his oyster. Like, I think he has all the talent to become. Whatever he wants to be in this business because I watch and I see The little intricacies.
The little things, the connection with the audience that they all have. I mean, you watch Jay come out there, the entire arena is erupting and they feel that energy that they have. And I think Jacob has that same energy when he's in the ring. I want to see what he's going to do next.
