Terms and conditions apply. Good morning, everybody. Welcome into the Winklerverse. They call these sort of things emergency pods as we react to breaking news. And the breaking news of Wednesday, February 5th is that Chris Middleton is no longer a Milwaukee buck.

The words that many of you have been dying to say for such a long time. He's been traded to the Wizards. Kyle Kuzma is coming over. And there's other parts to this as well, including Milwaukee native Patrick Baldwin Jr. coming back home. I don't know how much he'll play. I don't know how much he was playing. I think the first thing I want to say about this trade, from the trade perspective, is I'm K-sirasura with the Bucks at this point.

K-sirasura. Whatever they're going to do, they're going to do. They're going to trade for Jimmy Butler. They're going to trade for Jimmy Butler. They're going to trade Chris Middleton. They're going to trade Chris Middleton.

Whatever they're going to do. I can't stop them. I still think that if they take this roster, that there was a way to win a title. I've said that. I've always said that. I was right about that in 2021, but we all were. I've been wrong about it every year since.

And I will probably be the last person to have had their mind persuaded. So, if a move was necessary, a move was necessary. I wasn't clamoring for a move. I wasn't dying for a move. I wasn't eager for a move. I thought they'd be fine without a move. Which, why?

What's my problem? I watch the games. I watch the games. I see the struggles. I've seen them getting their ass kicked the last week, but stupid me still believes that Giannis at his best, Damon at his best, and Chris Middleton at their best with the other pieces is going to get you a championship.

Now, here's the problem with that. Has Chris Middleton been at his best? Has he been at his best?

Has he been healthy enough to be at his best? Best. B-E-S-T.

There's no H in there. I actually just woke up like 20 minutes ago. I know it's 1230. And that's the schedule now. I'm going to bed about 3.30, 4 o'clock.

And I wake up to 37 texts. And some friends are happy and some friends are not. On the whole, I don't like the trade. I don't like it. I don't like trades where it's like, okay, something else has to be coming. Because if you're going to do one of those trades, then let's do something else. Don't make me come on here, talk Chris Middleton for 30 minutes, and then another trade happens and now this content becomes irrelevant. I need this content to have some life.

I need it to breathe. But I don't like the trade because I don't think that Kyle Kuzma is that good. Josh Eberle had a tweet that the Wizards, Kyle Kuzma, of the 93 guys taking 12 plus shots a night, Kuzma ranks 91st out of 93 in efficiency. So of the 93 guys taking 12 shots a night, he's like dead last. The Wizards have a minus 21 net rating when he plays and a minus 10 net rating when he sits.

His words, worst team ever with him on the court, only historically bad with him off of it. So I think the precipice, which is not the right word, but what this trade is about is we think that there's more room for potential with Kyle Kuzma than we do with Chris Middleton. That's I think what we're looking at. We've looked at Chris Middleton. We've seen him have spurts. We've also seen him struggle. We've seen him be injured.

We know that he's older. We see Kyle Kuzma who got traded. He's been with the Wizards for like four years, which is a long time. You don't realize he's been there that long. But what you're thinking is, oh, Kuzma has just been toiling away. He's on a bad team.

He's just trying to get his, you know, he's a little younger, 29 years old. If he can come in here and not just chuck up shots and play better defense and be paired with Damian Lillard and Giannis, then he'll be a good version of what he is. So it's a trade about hope. It's a trade about you thinking that your version of Chris Middleton is no longer capable of playing up to the level that you think a Bucs version of Kyle Kuzma can play. So that I feel like is the reason behind the trade. And maybe it will work.

Again, que sera sera. But in this trade, you are hoping to see something that you haven't been seeing. And I think there might be more justification to do it with Kuzma than Middleton in terms of Middleton's older, Kuzma's younger and what kind of effort has Kuzma, I mean, he's been trying to get traded since he got there. So that's where I land on the initial part of the trade.

The other thing that really fires me up is that I hope you guys give him his flowers on the way out the door. I hope that you give Chris Middleton the credit he deserves for what he's done with this organization. He was a throw in in the deal.

Okay. This was back in Brandon Knight trade times. And we brought over Chris Middleton some second rounder we didn't know. And he became one of the top players to ever put on a Bucs uniform.

He will have his number retired here. And I, and I wish that we enjoyed him more when he was here. Because Chris is a great guy. Chris was a great teammate. Chris was a great player, he was he went to the all star game three out of four years around their championship run. He was the number two on a championship team. You need a number two he was the number two happily.

Ever since I started in sports radio in Milwaukee 2014 and then full time in 2016. I think one of the topics that I've talked about with people the most is what can we get for Chris Middleton. People have been trying to trade him forever. Valuing what he was and Chris one one big problem with Chris was not a problem with Chris. The problem was his contract timing always came up when the NBA salary cap was increased. I remember having discussions that he was making four for 44 or whatever the hell.

And people were pissed about that. Chris Middleton is not a $10 million a year guy. And then the next contract comes when the cap balloons again so he kept being the beneficiary of making money that was available to him as you build a team.

But the fans, it always looked like he was getting overpaid based on the salaries that they were used to and in tune with. So, I just like as we try to look forward. I look backwards and say, a lot of you guys were assholes to Chris Middleton. And I'm upset about that.

I'll go over some of the trade specifics here in just a second. One thing that is never going away is the 25% off deal at Happy Place Hemp. 25% off every single order at HappyPlaceHemp.com.

Me undies comfort from the outside in a lot of comments. I want to get to and just some more discussion about what exactly this trade is. So the Bucks are trading Chris Middleton to the Wizards for Kyle Kuzma. What are the Wizards going to do? Chris is a player option next year.

He made sign into that. They may try to trade him. I mean, we could see him anywhere. We could see him as the sixth man for the Celtics. And then the Bucks traded away Chris Middleton again.

God only knows what's going to happen there. Other parts of this trade. The Bucks are also going to get Patrick Baldwin Jr. They are trading out rookie AJ Johnson. And then there's some pick swaps.

So the pick swaps are a little confusing because, of course, they are. The Wizards have a couple of second round draft picks in the twenty twenty five draft. The Bucks get the second most favorable.

Of their picks. OK, the Wizards are getting a twenty twenty eight first round pick swap from the Bucks. Which currently belongs to the Blazers. So how it's going to work is the Blazers and Bucks had a pick swap and now the Wizards got in on it. So the three teams are each going to have a first round pick in twenty twenty eight.

The. Blazers get the best one of the three. The Wizards get the second best one and the Bucks get the third best one. The NBA needs to change that.

That that sucks. Their sports are enjoyable until the part where it's like learning. I want to know everything I know and be able to watch the games.

I don't want to have to learn. When I'm watching the games. The other thing it does, and maybe this is where it's more important for a lot of people, is the Bucks got out from the second apron. So they can now aggregate salaries and trades if they want to. They couldn't do that before. They had to do one for one, two for two. And now they can do like a two for one. So some of those guys that could be easily more available now, Bobby Portis making twelve five, Pat Connaughton making nine five, even Marjan Bochamp making two seven. With this move, we could see the Giannis at center position more. But again, this does seem like a move that is setting up another move. Perhaps it doesn't, however.

Perhaps this is it. Jake Fisher had a tweet a lot of people are getting mad at. He says, I'm told the key element of the trade talks that brought Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee in exchange for championship mainstay Chris Middleton, a large vote of support for Kuzma from Giannis Adetokounmpo. I think people are taking that as Giannis was trying to get Middleton out of town.

I don't think that ever was the case. I'm I'm pretty sure Giannis never went to Horst and said, we have to trade Chris. Maybe he did.

Maybe he's more cutthroat. But I think what's more likely and what I read from that tweet, sometimes I read these tweets and I'm like, oh, what happened here was. Horst told Giannis, hey, we got this trade. We might have to trade Chris. How would you feel about that? And Giannis said, for who? And then Kuzma and Giannis said, OK, yeah, I mean, you know, I will miss Chris, but Kuzma. That's that's how I took it. But what I'm seeing is a reaction that. Giannis was advocating to kick out the best man in his wedding or one of the best one of the people that stood up there with him.

I don't I don't think that would have been the case. And I would love for Middleton to come back one day, and I hate that we're finally saying that because that means he's been traded. Which I've never wanted. Yeah, I don't love it. I don't love the trade. I don't I don't believe Kyle Kuzma is going to flip the switch and be this version of him that he was year one with the Lakers.

I think he's been toiling away in Washington for too long. But we'll see. I wonder, are people excited about the new makeup of the team or are you excited that your long. Standing wish of getting Chris Middleton off of the team for some reason has been realized again. This trade is about looking at Chris Middleton and saying, can he get back to the form that he was?

And it's also looking at Kyle Kuzma and saying, can he get to a better version than this? Because he's chucking up shots on the Wizards. He's talked about how they can rebuild like without me.

I'm just I'm here to paraphrase. So and I think the Bucks felt like they had to do something. I think the Bucks saw what happened last year and felt like they had to do something, although we're never getting a Dame Middleton Giannis playoff game. Which I thought if you rested Middleton throughout the season. And then got him in the playoffs to be sharp.

I, I still think they could have done something, but now that'll go down as a what if and we'll never know. And to be fair to myself. I've I was going to be the last guy to evacuate the town. OK, if if the if the hurricane is coming where it's Bucks are never going to win another title with this group hurricane.

And all you guys have left. I've stayed in my house. That's always been where I've stood on this.

I think even the guy that stays in his house realizes he might be screwed. But that that's just the way that I've been. Al says he is growing up for Kuzma.

I don't know that I'm growing up for Kuzma. Why did Giannis tweet out red, white and thinking emojis and delete it right away? So Nathan Marzon was on top of that as he gets alerts for Giannis's tweets.

Which people still do, I guess. I'll show you what the tweet was if you're on the Dan Cheney YouTube stream. It was just a red. It was a red circle.

It was a white circle. And it was a thinking. And people are trying to say that Arsenal plays today and Giannis likes Arsenal. That is that if you're if you're supporting Arsenal, that is not the that's that's not a tweet you're putting out.

I'm going to I'm going to root for the Eagles on Sunday. I'm going to put a green circle and a white circle and a thinking emoji. No. People are saying heat colors. I don't know. There is a it could be Costas related. He's leaving a team.

I don't know. I don't think it has anything to do with Chris Middleton. I'll put it that way. But it came at a time where people are going to read into it.

So maybe. And the comment here got Giannis spelled wrong. But that's not Jake's fault. That's the fault of.

Autocorrect, which for some reason still puts Giannis as Giannis. I had a couple of friends firing that at me. As well. Eliza says this is just depressing.

Jake says all my texts from friends are how could they do this to him? Too many are emotionally connected. To recognize what it is. Tim Shea is joining us from his vehicle. Hello. I haven't been able to say that in a while. That one's been a hot minute. How you been? You've been busy. I've been busy. What's got you so busy these days?

Good old February. We're just busy. Yeah. How you doing? I'm good. I'm good.

How are you doing? Well, I don't like the trade. I mean, player for player? No, I don't like it, but. I'd rather ride. I guess I'd rather ride with a broken down Middleton than a potential Kuzma.

But again, I don't. I feel like I'm in the minority on that. I might be too attached to Middleton. I've always felt like even before we won a title with him. I had to personally defend him on radio shows for years. So I fully am cognizant of of my skewed viewpoint. He's been with us for what, 12, 13 seasons.

So, yeah, you're going to get connected to a lot of championship with the honest. He was with me, honest, his best man or something, or he was, I don't know. But you got to just you got to I personally did not. He's broken. He was done. So I'm fine with it.

I don't I don't know. I like Kuzma that much. I really thought we were going to get Jimmy Butler, but. Well, we still could, I guess. I mean, yeah, now there's money. There's money.

Money open now. So what you trade Bobby Portis. And Pat Connington. Who else?

Brooke Marjan. You just blow up the whole thing and keep and keep be honest in name and go for next year. There is a another story. And what about I saw you earlier. I didn't see what you said.

The honest is tweet. What was that all about? It was a red dot, a white dot. And then what is he going to the Badgers? He's a Badger fan. Oh, OK. What was that? I don't know. Nobody knows. I think it's dumb to speculate. The other thing that people are mad about is Josh Jacobs is out on Radio Row telling everybody the Packers need a number one receiver.

And like Dontavian Wicks is tweeting laughing emojis. I look it's bad for business. It's bad for the content machine. I think some of that nonsense you just need to like. Just if that whatever is going on with the Packers and I don't care. Again, I should care, I guess we need to get down to Radio Row and turn that place around.

We need to get down to Radio Row. Yes. I don't know.

Grant's having the time of his life. I can see that. But I don't think I don't know. It would be it'd be overstimulating. There'd be so many people there that I've shit on over the course of my life. A lot of my new new work partners are down there, too. Are you hinting at something?

Maybe. Do you want to say something? I am working going to be starting working next Tuesday for I heart radio. I heart media.

Sorry. And what will you be doing there, Tim? I'll be doing news writing for I heart radio stations, news radio stations.

So in the Midwest. So I'll be covering a lot of area. And pardon me, but do you even know how to write? Yes. Well, congratulations.

Well, thank you. Are you excited? Yes. Very. You know, I just I got too busy at CBS, so. Oh, yeah.

Things got busy there. Yeah. Well, I'd like to make this announcement. I am now.

Oh, shit. I have to draft. That went away real quick.

It didn't work. We are ready to go on the better side. I am now. At Radio Row. Come on. Get it up. There we go. You should send me that and I should be at Radio Road, too.

I should get you. Hey, Chris Sims. Oh, you Jay Glazer.

You just pointed out Jay Glazer. I just heard that right before I got on with you. What's up, Tim Scott? Nope. You're gonna have to double it. I already told you that. I already told you that. Stop. Those are my people.

Those are my people now. I told him he has to double it. You and me, right?

Jake is reporting to us that where'd my where'd the background go? Brooke is questionable for tonight's game. Yeah, I think if there's anybody that's even remotely like possibly it's Bobby Portis.

No, but if there's anybody that's even going to be remotely even talked about, like if you think their name is going to come up, don't play him. Also, the team's NBA. The NBA was scrambling to try to get flights changed because so many flights tomorrow we're going to be in the air during the trade deadline. Oh, really?

And they didn't want to trade a guy and then be like, get back on the plane. Yeah. Once you once you once you sit here.

Once we land. Cone roller. I haven't seen him in a minute either. The bag was a little dusty.

How to get it out. What's up, Cone? Hey, Cone, the bag might be coming off in April.

It might be. I feel good about this Badger team. I may be a trip to San Antonio in April. Let's go. Oh, yeah, they're doing good, I guess. Oh, they're they're a great team. Just just destroyed Indiana last night.

21st straight win at the Kohl Center against Indiana for the Badgers. Well, that's exciting. Bart is Solomon Wilcox going to be joining your show from Radio Row? We actually had him on last week. So we were the first to have on Wilcox this year. Legend. But this is the this is the fourth year in a row I've had Wilcox on, despite not being at Radio Row, still getting a Radio Row interview and still plugging the knee surgeries. Yeah, it's called Macie Macie repairs cartilage from your own muscle.

And one thing people don't know is you can't regenerate cartilage once you lose it. It's gone. Yeah. And this is a great procedure. It's affordable. It's rapid to that.

You don't have to wait as long. And what do you think about this deal? I got to say Ram was right.

Ram on the north side is right. What? No, he's been he's been wanting this for nine years.

He played the long game and he got he won a title with him in that time. I know. I know. But honestly, like, I don't know what we expected the Bucks to do.

Chris Middleton over the last three years has averaged 37 games played. So this move, I think, was inevitable. Had to get rid of them. A little disappointed that we didn't get Johnny Davis back in the trade. But Pat Baldwin, welcome back to Milwaukee.

Yeah. Why didn't we get Jordan Poole either? Why didn't we trade for Poole? Get all the Milwaukee guys.

Yeah, that'd be fun. Man, the hype around Patrick Baldwin. I was on the air when he declared to come to Milwaukee and I was like, oh, my God, the Panthers are going to be incredible. This guy's been in the league. He don't he don't ever play. How many games did he even play at Milwaukee? Nine, four or five.

Yeah, 10, 10, 11. He's played. Sixty nine games in the pros. He did start seven this year for the Wizards. That'd be a nice surprise if he played all of a sudden. Yeah. If you're not cracking the line up for the Wizards, I think you're kind of done.

So what's middle? I don't I don't envision Middleton like being there, but he's not. He's got a player option next year.

I don't think he can be a buyout guy. Have you talked to Toby and gotten his view of it? Toby likes the deal for the box, for the for the Wizards. He quote tweeted it. Oh, let me read the Toby tweet. Toby tweet. The Toby X. Yeah, the X. Let me go to X real quick, guys. Let me just type in X dot com.

The everything app. Yeah, his quote tweet was good move for the Wiz. Of course, he says that.

Guys, I want here's what I want to tell people. Is. They are celebrating this trade in Washington. Not because of who they got, because they got rid of Kuzma. So how am I going to be when the worst team in the league is celebrating getting rid of a guy?

I'm supposed to be excited to receive that guy. I mean, he is an NBA champion. He's got as many rings as is Chris Middleton. So you're you're not swapping. You're not losing any championship experience here. The plane still weighs is the same.

There's still the rings for each of them. I take Jake from a plane. What's up, guys? I don't know. Well, you're what's that noise? I don't know.

I can't keep you too long. That's the servers. Is that really that bad in the 1990s? It's an old school operation. Data mining. Yeah.

Data mining. Well, you're making a meme coin. I take Jake meme coin. No, I'm in my nuclear fallout shelter since three weeks ago or so. What's up? Your thoughts?

Yeah. I don't have much to say other than everybody's texting me since I've been like the you know, hey, you're the anti Middleton guy. It's like, no, I'm not.

It's that I could see where this was heading. His body's just not meant for this. Every year he comes in out of shape this year.

He takes 20 games off despite being medically clear. Like there's all these red flags. I wanted him traded while he still had value. So this is kind of the value of where we were at. And I people are just too emotionally connected in all this. Like everything I've heard of from people that are responding to me is like, yeah, but what about 2021? It's like, guys, that was four years ago. You can't take it. It's like you never want to give the contract based off of prior performance. It's on future performance. And this last one was a disaster in that aspect.

I don't know. On the surface, whatever. I don't think it makes the Bucks any worse this year. Getting under the second apron was very, very important.

But this is also a quick test that I'll leave you with. And I want honest answers. If everything about Chris Middleton was the exact same. He played for another team.

Is that the kind of guy you're looking to trade on or trade to the Bucks? And that's what I'll leave you with. I'll hang up and listen. What did he say? I don't know. Something about him being right. All right. I got a video of Giannis reacting to the trade. This is from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Wow. Because I guess there was that practice. So I'm going to share my screen.

Which I'm so eloquent to doing. Do we all see Giannis? Yes. Yep.

I have 11 seconds of Giannis. It's still going to hurt you. The same as it hurt with Drew. The same as it's going to hurt with Brooke. The same as it's going to hurt with Pat. The same as it's going to hurt with Bobby.

Those are my guys. OK. So he said it's still going to hurt you. The same as it hurt with Drew. The same as it's going to hurt with Brooke. As it's going to hurt with Pat. As it's going to hurt with Bobby. Now, I'm thinking that, again, he probably was just like, you know, when these guys get traded, we won a championship with them. It's going to hurt if they get traded. But now people are thinking, oh, he knows that these guys are getting dealt.

Maybe both are true. I think there's another trade coming and Giannis is effectively running the Bucks right now. I mean, he's making personnel decisions. He's making coaching decisions.

I think he knows that those guys are gone. Oh, yeah. I mean, you know, I got on here and I'm like, OK, are we going to talk about this? And then there's another trade coming. Because I think, remember, I go back to when the Brewers got Yelich and Kane. And then we were excited because we thought it meant another. We still thought it meant another thing was coming, like now we're going to get a pitcher and then nothing else ever happened. I just feel like a lot of times we're always like, oh, another thing's coming and another thing doesn't come. So I would like it like if something's going to happen. You make this move.

But could the other thing fall apart? So the longer we get in between a second move. Is that second move coming? Well, I mean, trade deadlines tomorrow afternoon. So, yeah, I think I have a good feeling there's going to be another one coming.

I think we're getting Jimmy Butler. Tim always says things like he knows something he can't say, but he doesn't. Tim's got sources. I don't know.

I don't know. You know, it's like I got a I got a good feeling. I just I do.

I think I think Bobby will get ready for Bobby Portis, everybody. Just say it. I'll say it now.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Well, if you've done this, I think you should do more now that you know that you traded Middleton, like trade everybody. You did it. You did that.

Probably the hardest one. So trade more. Don't just say, all right. New big three. Yanis Lillard and Kyle Kuzma. Give me another guy.

Works for the Lakers. Go get me, Jimmy. I don't want him. I do want him more than I did when I woke up.

What about Katie? You think there's a chance we get Durant? Bucks were second in the odds.

I don't know why, but they were. He seems like he's going to Golden State again. That'd be awesome.

That'd be terrible. But credit to the Warriors. I mean, they see what the writings on the wall for the Warriors. They're kind of in a similar situation with the Bucks, like their core is getting older. They're fading. Time to reignite the spark. So if Kyle Kuzma is that guy, he's that guy. All right.

I'm down here at Pfizer Forum. I'm going to go to the statue and lay down my flowers now. Didn't we do that? We did that with somebody, didn't we? No, we did that for the Bradley Center. Oh, yeah. We did that for the Bradley Center.

I laid flowers down. That building's coming up pretty quick, huh? I'm here.

Yes, it is. Here, let me scoot a little. Show the people what the Bradley Center looks like. Actually, here, I'll do this. I'll go around.

I don't think I can flip my camera. God forbid you get out of your car. Well, it's too cold.

The location of Armin Sarien's engagement. Yes. Now it's a musical. When's it open? What? It's going to open next fall?
