We'll see you there. It is time for the latest edition of Overreaction Monday, presented by Marriott Bonvoy. Check in for game day with Marriott Bonvoy, the official sponsor of the NFL. Oh man, it's time for this program. Good to see over there, Chris Brown.
Hey, how are you? What's up, man? Great to see you. I don't know if it's any part of your. Your rundown here, but we come on the air about an hour after the news broke that Jalen Hurts is out for the year.
That is not on here. With blood clots in his lungs now, it started in his lower body and his traffic to the upper part of his body into the lungs. And we just send our best to Jalen Hurts. I don't know if he's out there. If anybody, you know.
Hears this, but we just send our best to him. One hundred percent, one of our favorites here. We've been following him ever since he was balling out for talking to Alabama. I know, so I send all of us sends our love and our our best wishes, and can't wait to see him back out there on the field. As for the rest of football, hit it.
That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage. This place sucks. Overreaction Mondays.
Monday. All right, Christopher, we're about a third of the season down. Goes fast. I know. Where does the time go?
Yes. What do you have to start us off? Let's. We got to start on Sunday night. Rich Jerry Jones should hire back the embarrassing guy and give him a raise.
No, I'm just kidding. But Dak's best years as a cowboy are behind him. I can't sit here and say that's for sure. It's it looks it looks terrible, and then the the worst part of it, as you know, is he. He gave his side of the football an acronym, a nickname, and Gotti.
Yep, yep. And listen, if people are going to go all over my guy nine or now eighteen, he's doubled as he balled out in his first shot of meaningful minutes. For well, actually, what JJ McCarthy did was make his minutes meaningful. After coming into a blowout to the Saints and making it a nail nailbiter and a white knuckler for for New Orleans, if we're going to make fun of him for calling himself nine, then we should give grief to Gotti. That doesn't look like it's anything close to the greatest offense there is.
Gotti is up there with Dream Team, like it's all of it, and terrible. There's still time, though. I mean, again, if this was Week 16. I could sit here and say, this body of work, if the next ten weeks for the Cowboys on offense and Dak Prescott are as consistent and disappointing as they have been for the first six weeks, then we can entertain this idea. But even then, he still has time left in his career.
But it's terrible. I mean, that photograph there is a perfect. Shot for our listeners who take in this show via listening podcast. That's a thousand yard stare. That's that's him wondering what's going on.
That's him wondering what the hell has happened. They had seven points from a majority of that game against a Green Bay D that gave up what seemingly almost fifty burger to Penix and the Falcons a couple weeks ago.
Well, they're also a different team in Lambeau Field. Their last two games being all over the Bears, although Caleb Williams coming back shows you that offense can sing. Hold it, just like everybody thinks the Ben Johnson coordinated offense with Caleb at quarterback can sing. We'll talk about him, but but the defense has begun to get stronger, and now Micah Parsons is going to come back, and that's only going to make that defense even better. But that's for a Green Bay conversation.
Yeah, we're going to have next.
Okay, a Cowboy conversation is this defense, as it is incrementally improving, is seeing an offense over the last two weeks that has. Precipitously fallen off. I mean, that is a fact. In Dallas, you know, scoring 16 points at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that had not beaten anybody by that point—that's no good. And now, what we saw last night—it was seven for most of the evening.
And now, next up for Dallas is Philadelphia, which, you know, as we started this. Show with a shout out and best wishes to Jalen Hurts. That should be a winnable game for Dallas. They need to win the next three.
Well, right and home for Arizona, as the Rams can point out, that's no homecoming. At Indianapolis, which fired their general manager Chris Ballard and has put in essence the owner and Carly Urse Gordon has put the coach Shane Steichen on notice that. You better go on a Steve Fisher Michigan nineteen eighty nine type run, otherwise we're going to find a new coach here because a new general manager is going to want his own guy.
So yeah, you're right. The next three Dallas wins those.
Now we're talking about five and three. But you can't just look at the schedule now and go Dallas should win it again. No, no, no, definitely not. But his best years as a Cowboy behind him. That's that's an overreaction.
Oh really? What else, Chris? Interesting. Let's talk Green Bay, and it's time we got to put Jordan Love in the MVP conversation. He's been awesome.
He has been. He has been. Yeah, I would go there. But if we're going to do that, do we put Goff in there too? Goff's only half game behind him.
And guess, by the way, who plays each other next week? Yes, sir. Love at Goff. Goff coming off the bye. Goff doesn't have an interception, right?
I I don't have those numbers exactly. Jordan Love has looked awesome. Deep ball, he's got it all working. I agree. By the way, and the numbers last night should have been so much better.
I mean, Matthew Golden and Christian Watson, no doubt. They're dropping touchdowns like he could have had six of those last night. It felt like Love. Love is on point. I mean, Collin'sworth called it in the middle of the fourth, first quarter.
About how well he has been playing, yeah, you know, showing up and showing out. But that that loss to Atlanta just dropped them to one and two. The game at Tampa. Hey, listen, I think we might be learning that Tampa's defense is no joke, and a lot of people are going to look troubled against them. It took five quarters for the Steelers to that survive against them on Sunday.
And then you know, against Chicago and Dallas, he he did what he's supposed to do. Let's see what happens against Detroit, okay?
Well, they should be able to light it up.
Well, one would think, but Detroit's defense improved against Arizona. I I will say this: yes, putting Jordan Love in the MVP conversation through six weeks based on his last three weeks, we can do that. But if you do that, you got to throw Goff in too. You gotta throw Jared Goff in. What is the MVP mix then, right now for you?
Well, I mean, as you know, I started last week with my top five, and neither were in it. Neither were in it, and my number one was Josh Allen. I don't think that's been disturbing since then. Number two is Kenneth Walker, who came off the bye and just went off again. Yeah, what he had one almost one.
Well, he's now got a record for for most. He's got a record for for most rushing yards in the first. Five weeks, six hundred and sixty with a new team.
So yeah, I mean those two are in there. I had Brock Purdy in there. This is being recorded before tonight's Monday night game. The Monday night game to cap week six against the Commanders. I think MVP is pretty wide open.
I know Allen and Purdy kind of separated themselves, but I think you got to include Kenneth Walker. And like I said, I think Love is in there. I don't think this is an overreaction, but you got to put Golf in there too.
Okay, deal. What else? Let's do it, Rich. Your favorite topic. Let's talk about the Rams.
So many different things that I was thinking about saying or ways to phrase this, but I'm going to do it like this. If the Rams don't win the next four games heading into their bye week, they're going to miss the playoffs.
Well, let's look at it this way: NFC East is putting one team in, right? Only one.
Okay. Yes. NFC South looks like one team's going from there too, right? I mean, Atlanta just lost again. Yeah, they're too they're too inconsistent to put wins together.
Carolina sitting there. New Orleans had a nice win against the Giants, but we're not. Yeah, they're not doing it. I'm I'm I'm I mean, more likely than not, one getting in there, right? One getting in from there, okay.
So that's two divisions that are only going to get one team in. The North, the NFC North, they're going to get three. They might get all four.
Well, if they don't get all four, they they might get three. I think three is a lock for the North.
Okay, so now you've got one more wild card position to go. Seattle and the Rams. Hmm. Seattle's three and three. They don't look good.
Rams two and four. Rams next have Vegas. Rams could easily lose to Vegas, but by the way. Would I mean Akbar Bajaj might find me. He already texted me.
He did. Yeah, he's already DM me on on Instagram. He's like, "How many people have gotten their first six picks in a win loss game right?" And I'm like, "Nobody ever." Well, I well I I think didn't Nick Swidson nail the fourteen and three? But I don't know if he would. But he also had the Vikings going to the Super Bowl and beating the Las Vegas Aces, right?
Right.
Okay. So, long story short, though, I I told Akbar that nobody's gotten their first six. Right, where half of them were predicted losses. Yeah, exactly. He had them going three and zero, and then zero and three, and then beating the Rams to start their season with seven games.
Listen, be that as it may. Oh man, if they don't win their next four games, they're three and one, which would make them five and five. I don't know. Brady once went from five hundred to the Super Bowl and won it. Yeah, they were 500 after they lost the Chiefs on Thanksgiving weekend.
Yeah, Brady didn't have the Niners and Seahawks in his division. No, I, I, I know. Yeah, I can't sit here and say that. I mean, but the thing is, they're all winnable games, but they can't. I mean, they can't drop one.
Their margin for error has gotten slimmer. And I don't the number of times that Cooper's like, when is Miles Garrett coming back, Dad? But look at after the buy too. I'm like, I'm like, brother, not soon enough. Green Bay team that maybe won't have a loss by then.
KC looks unstoppable. San Francisco again, like two weeks ago, that game against Green Bay was like that's winnable.
Now it doesn't, not anymore, right? The one against Dallas was like that's going to be tough.
Now it looks winnable. Yeah, where are these wins after the buy? Tampa. One of them against Seattle. You got to figure they're going to play better.
You're going to figure. I don't. I don't. I don't. And that their kickers are going to either stop missing, getting blocked, or getting blown up because you're 160 pounds soaking wet.
I wanted to tell the groupie like, "Hey, pal, you're you're not Captain America. You're you're Steve Rogers before he took the you know." Took the shot. Here is the thing: I saw Vinatieri. He was like Steve, dude. Like you are Steve Rogers, like little Steve Rogers.
You are not Captain America yet. Vinatieri was pretty. What's he doing on Sunday? Maybe we give him a call. See what Seabass is up to.
I'll still call this an overreaction. Going from five and five to the playoffs is not. But they they can't go five hundred over the next four. No, because too many teams are passing them by. Yeah.
By the way, that game against Green Bay may be massive. That's for a tiebreak. Thanksgiving Eve, right? That Wednesday night before Thanksgiving could be massive for a future tiebreak if both are going for a wild card. But Green Bay's got the division in their sights now, the way that they've played the last few weeks.
Which is my point: that over a span of a month, you can go from "What's going on here?" to "Oh, this is a division winner and a possible Super Bowl contender." Matt Lafleur not getting fired. Things can change, right? Things can change. I was never firing him, as you know. What else?
Let's go across the pond, as we're mandated to say. Oh, I love being right, Rich Eisen. Yes, Houston, CJ Stroud, man, betting on himself. He is going to get absolutely pizzaid, and the Texans are the best team in the AFC South. Um, well, they looked it on on on Sunday.
Colts fired their general manager. I don't think they're going anywhere. The Titans beat them for their first win. I'm sure that that dinged a few people in their survivor pools. Absolutely.
Yeah, this is tough to argue right now. I understand the records would be like Jacksonville is it? Crazy thing is, for the second straight year, Jacksonville, having been in London for an entire week. Loses in Wembley Stadium to a team that had arrived in London that Friday. The Rams did it last year and punked him.
This one was closer. This one was this one was closer. This might have been the game of the day. This was a great game. And in terms of Stroud, he looks like his rookie season self again.
He's dropping dimes. I think Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to open things up. It'll be curious to see what happens when Montgomery comes back healthy. What they do because Jawar Jordan came in and ran one in from he scored some odd yards.
I'm sure everyone did what I did. Like who? Who is that? I know. And and they became the first team all season to have a 40 yard rusher against Jacksonville, and it was Woody Marks who was hardly getting you know much per carry.
Jacksonville is. Just a conundrum. They really are, and now they're coming back from London. By the way, they were a changed team after coming back from London last year. They took a buy this time around.
Oh, they didn't do that last year, and then went on a nice little run. They're home for Indianapolis, at Baltimore, at Tennessee, at the Giants. Home for Tennessee, I think they're going to make some hay. I think they beat up on teams that are mistake prone and full of holes. And I think they're going to go on a little run here again, and then then comes the back end of their schedule, which looks kind of soft.
Yeah, not that I know. I went higher register, but I mean their last four. How many Decembers do you are like? Oh my God, that's a brutal December. Yeah, their December is at Chicago, which is going to be cold.
Is all get out Pittsburgh stuff. Their visit, their home for Pittsburgh on a Monday night, which will be big. At Houston, at Dallas, home for Washington, at Indianapolis, they're on the road quite a bit in December, which is a problem for them because being at home in December is pretty nice. Not many of them are outdoors. There's some winnable games for them.
The Texans are in a hole. They're in a hole. They looked like the best team in the AFC South on Sunday. I can't crown them yet. They've won two in a row.
Next for Houston is the Giants. I'm wondering if they're going to start JJ McCarthy in that game for Houston, and then they have their buy before they're at the Charges at Cleveland. Is going to be a big game as Cleveland's now four and two. I can't figure that team out. What's to figure out?
Their defense is pretty stout. But Deshaun's not playing very well until the fourth quarter, and then he's got to pull it out of his orifice, which is not sustainable. I should use a different analogy. You know, and then home for Indianapolis, home for Baltimore. I'll just say this is an overreaction for the moment, but on Sunday it was not.
Texans win the division. You're not going to be shocked. That is correct. Of course, of course not. Rich, let's talk about your guy.
I guess we got a poor one out because the Jameis experience is over. We had a great run. What was it like? Three, four weeks? Man, it was a fun time.
It's a fun ride, but you got to get off it at some point. And the Giants should be starting JJ McCarthy moving forward. Did you do this? As a favor to me, you're repaying me something right here by by just hanging this curve in the zone for me right now. Are you?
Are you serious? The thing is, it's like everyone's talking about it, and you know we talk about what's being talked about. Yeah, he had more passing yards in the fourth quarter than Justin Herbert's had an entire game so far this season. That is absolutely an insane stat. That's a fact.
I mean, look. I will say that his first pass being a pick was kind of funny, but after that he played great. What do you mean by funny? Funny, like a clown. It amuses you.
It's funny because it's funny for for you, and then you're just like, it's my guy's time. The championship. JJ McCarthy's been away a long time.
Well, then he would have been. He's done shining shoes. He's done shining shoes. Go get your shine box. That's what he told the Saints defense, and almost pulled it off.
Credit where credit's due. Almost pulled it off. He played well. It was a fun comeback, and just throw him out there. Average his average mile per hour, miles per hour in his throw, I saw was almost fifty miles an hour.
So I didn't see that at Michigan, a fifty mile an hour gun like that.
Well, because he was handing it off all the time. Oh, he was not. He was not. Dude, just a lot of rep. The giant season, the NFC East.
They brought him in. They brought him in for a reason. Yeah, let's go. Let's just right. And then and John Harbaugh would love that first class problem that's entirely in the ether right now.
Which is JJ McCarthy with a healthy and resurgent Malik Neighbors, he looks incredible, and a stupendous Isaiah Likely.
Okay, that these guys, and you know, there's 15 people in the league named Malachi. They're they're Malachi. That JJ starts winging it around, and this division. Through six weeks, it's just so wide open.
Okay, through six weeks is there for the Giants to be taken, and they are in the best position out of everybody else in the NFC East to take it at the six-week mile marker. Yeah, that's a fact.
So defensively, they've got their guys from the Big Ten, and Abdul Carter, and Arvell, and Arvell Reese. Getting it done, putting it together. This guy has an opportunity, and if they win the division and this guy does it, that's a first-class problem for a Harbaugh to have to say.
Well, who's next in twenty twenty-seven?
So that's not an overreaction, and I appreciate that. Spinning curve on his own. I hope I took that yard. I just went with the pitch. Yeah.

Okay, wrote this last night, not knowing what was coming this morning from Indianapolis, but can't stop at Chris Ballard, Colts owner Carly Ursey Gordon's notebook should just say clean house.
Well, here's my opinion on on all of this. You know how it works. If a general manager's first to go, the coach has been put on notice. It's that simple. Yep, and and Carly Urse Gordon's or the the team's post and release flat out said it at the very end of the statement.
It was, we are going for championships, and that is still the expectation for this season. And this does not look like a championship team, no, flat out. And if there is anybody who should know, you know how this works, it is Carly Urse Gordon. And I know a lot's been made about her note taking, and how that looks ridiculous on the sideline. She is clearly up to speed.
On how this roster is built, she is clearly up to speed on what this roster can do, based on whatever meetings she has been sitting in, and she's absolutely up to speed on what this roster can do in the moment, snap to snap because she's there listening in on everything, and taking notes about everything.
So, this is clearly not a decision that's been made without some foundation. Of significance, and you know Chris Ballard is one of our favorite guests, one of my favorite people that I've gotten to meet. I hope he lands on his feet. I'm sure he will. But Shane Steichen, as I mentioned earlier, needs to go on a Steve Fisher type run.
Got to make the playoffs. It would be helpful to win the division. Got to make the playoffs, and I think win a game in the playoffs, at least, for somebody to be hired. With the note, you've got to keep this guy, which I think would still be a problem for some fans in that area.
So, note to the Colts: if you like your coach, you need to start executing a little bit better. And you need to start winning football games. You like Daniel Jones because I kind of think he should go too. I just start. I think I think he's gonna go.
Yeah, just start. I think the house is gonna get cleaned, with the exception of Jonathan Taylor and other a handful of other players. Agree with that. And and Carly Urse Gordon said in her statement, "It's right. Like if you're gonna fire a general manager now, if you're gonna fire your GM, you have to do it now because there's a lot of work that goes into finding the next one." I think she knows what she's doing.
Clearly, yeah, totally with you. But you know, you have a set of eyes here, and I mean, that's just—I mean—a winless team division comes in and gets their first. Dude, next up for them, so ugly at Minnesota and at Jacksonville, and if Daniel Jones, these are two teams that will take your mistakes and shove it where the sun does not shine in your body. Like, if you have trouble. Protecting the football and making decisions under pressure.
Two teams that will feast on that are going to host the Colts next. Oh man! Before they host the Dallas Cowboys and the Dolphins, and they're two and four going into this stretch. Their second straight two-game losing streak, and then having lost to the Tennessee Titans, who are trouble. Having trouble tying their shoes in many different ways.
Yeah, I don't know where the winds are. Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! The rest of the so I don't know.
We'll see what happens. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's it's going to be a long one. And if Sykin gets let go, and nobody else hires him as their head coach, the Eagles should be the first on the phone to him. Immediate OC first on the phone to be the head coach or no?
To be the OC, okay. Get him back in the helmet. Get him back in, you know, the helmet, and see if he can be your Josh McDaniels. I think some Eagles get him back and hurts his headset once he gets through all this. Fans might want him as the HC.
Okay, what else, Chris? Caleb's back. Oh, he looks so good. True. And as long as he is healthy, the Bears are the team to beat in the NFC North.
I mean, we already just you discussed that Jordan Love is the MVP. I understand the the concept of the show is that all takes of their own snowflake, I get it, I understand. They're all siloed, we're all siloed, like what we talked about fifteen minutes ago, or even fifteen seconds ago. Totally forgot, non-operational. Nope, I get it.
I don't even remember what we what's. How great does he look? That offense when he is clicking, oh baby, and he's accurate, and he's thirty for thirty-six yesterday. Leads the NFL in completion percentage. I know, I know, he's that.
The run game, which is why, in my estimation, it's just like okay. If this is what how he gets his fire. By you know all the memes and the hype video, you know the hype video of like I was out three weeks, man, and and he's coming back like he's the comeback player of the year, and he's firing away at the media about his about misreporting his stuff. He's very online. Too online, yeah.
Too online, you know.
Some quarterbacks I've spoken to, Bo Nix is like, I don't even have this stuff on my phone. I would counsel that to Caleb, unless that's by the way, unless that's the way he operates, maybe, and that's the way that he gets his drive. Then don't change anything, right? He's got just the way, just because the way that I, but you watch him play, and he is really, really good, really good. And by the way.
Where's the guy who wants his Colston Loveland money back? Yeah, I know. Where's he? I didn't. I didn't get a tweet from that.
You didn't get a tweet from that guy. I didn't get a tweet from that guy. He wants his Colston Loveland money back. Did you send him the 80 bucks? I did not.
Okay. Because guess what? 84 was the Powerball first TD on the board. Yeah, I know. And it's only gonna get better.
It's only gonna get better. And here's the thing that's really amazing. Bird unlocked. I know what happened towards the end of this game. And if I'm Dennis Allen and I'm Ben Johnson, I'd try to.
You know, source it out. They took the foot off the gas. They did. It was thirty-one-seven. But the first two and a half quarters, this defense was outstanding.
Cooking, and they don't have sweat. Yep. For the moment, so team to beat in the NFC North. There's an undefeated team, and then there's a four and two team, and there's a three and two team. That let's just see how it all plays out.
We don't have to just give this. Guy, his rightful flowers by saying he's the greatest and the team's the greatest. But I know that's what this show's about, and that's why I'm here to kind of move the needle in the other direction. Great game! Great to see him back.
The league's better for him balling out. The Bears are a phenomenal team to watch because of their offense. Words I don't think I've ever said out loud. And we'll see what happens. How this operates in the cold weather.
Right, but they can also run it. My God, Roshan Johnson was running all over the place and coming out of the backfield. Kind of doesn't matter. They're deep. They're deep and they're playable.
So. They they can be the team to beat in the NFC North. I just won't call that through six weeks right now. Got it. What else?
A couple left, and then we'll get to our tweet of the week. Here is the thing, and I know the Jalen Hurt stuff off the top. Obviously scary, and we're wishing the best for him. Awful, bless it. But the season is circling in Philadelphia.
Eagles should trade Saquon to a contender who needs him. Hmm. Wow. Like. Minnesota or Seattle.
Minnesota with Saquon. Saquon and Seattle.
So they wouldn't pay Kenneth Walker, but they'll take the one of the most expensive running backs. That doesn't strike me. I think they're just going to sit back and see what Zach Charbonnet looks like. That that's fun fantasy football conversation. Is there an AFC contender that could use him?
Well, that's where I'm sure the Eagles would want to send him. Sure, but Buffalo doesn't need him. What about you? What about him in New England? Send him up the Asella train.
I mean, look, the guy you know, Travion is. Travion is just. Is he's got some burst, but he's he's a he's not available a lot.
Now look, there's a team that was rumored for him when the free agency stuff was going on. What about Saquon in Houston? Hmm. Wow. So they get Marvin Saquon.
Hey, if I'm Houston, I damn those torpedoes, man. I'm like less need. I'm like less need. Stroud's playing out of his skull. The defense has now got Demico calling the plays again.
Yeah, yeah, I, I hear you. What wave the white flag? Say clearly, this is not our year. Yeah, wave the white flag. Let's just let's just rarely so rare.
But what do you tell that defense? What do you tell that defense, man? I don't know. I don't think the Eagles are going to fold up shop just yet, man. Again, Tanner McKee has.
An opportunity. I know you're. I know the noise you just made there. I know, but there's a statue of a guy in front of the stadium. You know, his name's Nick Foles.
I know that he had to do that only for a few weeks, and he was much more veteran than Tanner McKee. But they believe in the guy, and he's there to win games without the the starter.
Now he's normally going to only be there for four to six, not for from week. Four to week eighteen, you know. How about this one? I'm exaggerating, but like from week six to week eighteen, that's not what he's there for. And Devonte Smith coming back, he's back already.
Hollywood Brown is there. Good.
Okay, right. Dontavian Wicks is there. Goddard is there. their Their line play hopefully will get better because they're whoever's still left gets healthy and they start connecting. Right, you want to go the other way.
Defensively, they're terrific. Should Philly trade for Kirk Cousins? Why would the Raiders do that? They're not winning anything. Mendoza's right there.
Let him play. You get a pick for Cousins, and Philly can stay in it. I think the point of this is let's play it out through through the next three weeks and see what it looks like. Trading Saquon is fun, though. What if Tanner McKee beats the Cowboys?
Which, by the way, he's done before. What if he does that?
Well, then, then, then Stephen A. will show up with more than just a cowboy hat and a cigar on first take to give it to Irv.
So you are saying, what if Tanner McKee? What if Tanner McKee goes on a run and into the bye week? We've already established the NFC East is wide open. Their next three are against the NFC East with a bye week. Perfect opportunity to see where they are.
But at the end of that, if they've now lost seven in a row and they're two and seven, division's over. And the bye means more bye bye than anything else. Maybe you maybe you entertain that, but you're telling the fan base, "Oh, the the formula that we have of Hurts and Saquon, and you know, hey, and his defense, we're we're totally pivoting and we're done with everything, not just this year. Yeah, had a great run. Look, you got a Super Bowl.
That's what all fans want. No, I got it. They got it. I'll call this an overreaction." But it was fun to play fantasy football for that for a moment.
Okay. What else, Chris? Ah, two more. Ah, there's a team. It could happen, by the way.
Oh, I wouldn't be shocked if. What else? Yeah, the Chiefs are hands down the best team in the AFC. Ah, you can't say that with the Bills playing like that, or your Patriots beginning to come on strong, or the AFC North being all over 500. You can't say that.
But you're going to pick those teams against KC straight up. The way that the Bills are playing right now, with the defense getting better, this is a Thanksgiving night conversation because they're playing each other on Thanksgiving night, and it does appear to be a Chiefs versus Bills, who's better? They go to the Super Bowl conversation. Feels like it. I know, which is kind of crazy.
And the reason why we're having this conversation is not only because Mahomes is healthy. It's it's nine. It's and Kelsey isn't washed. It's Kenneth Walker. And the defense looks great, but it's Kenneth Walker.
He's changed everything. It's Kenneth Walker. That's why I'm talking about him as an MVP candidate. He's got almost 700 yards in five games, and that's just on the ground. It's not in the air either.
I mean, he's he's he's going to be the all-purpose king this year, and what he has done. Is I mean just yesterday's game is a perfect example, where the usual that happens between the Chiefs and the Chargers, more often than not, it's not like it's every time, is that Kelsey tells the Spanos is you don't own the team, I do, right? Right.
And Kelsey was open a couple times, but Mahomes was running for his life quite a bit, and Mahomes wasn't lighting it up, because Rasheed Rice is still out. And I'm wondering if there's a trade deadline acquisition that could be made for the receiver room. Everybody's like pointing at Tyreek Hill and saying he's going to come back, and it's going to be like the ten of old. I don't think that's going to happen. Personally, right now, as we're sitting here, so the Chiefs are playing great.
They're the only undefeated team in the AFC. Kenneth Walker is, in my mind, an MVP candidate. Because he was the one who got the Chiefs through the Chargers with ease. Otherwise, that was a slog. That was one of those division games.
Throughout the records, we know you, you know us. And the Chargers had any offense, that game would have been competitive. And Mahomes was not his usual sharp, like self. It was Kenneth Walker who got him through. He's the MVP through six weeks.
Of the Chiefs, and if not for Josh Allen's superhumanness, I mean, what was that like? Flick, it was like twenty yards, dude. Dude, he gets out of the pocket. It looks like he was dead to rights again, and then he just goes. He sneaks through, and it's just like, oh, he's going to take off.
Nope he he leveled off to stay behind the line of scrimmage, yeah, and then. Just kind of shovel past it. Like normally, those are those are two feet, not twenty yards. That was nuts, and it's unreal. Look at this photo; is like unreal.
Max Crosby on his back is about to wreck him. Anybody wondering who's the MVP of the league? That photograph is the picture that tells a thousand words.
Okay, unreal. This guy is unlike anybody else, and JJ Watt was on the call when he wasn't breaking. Jim Nance might have broke his hand.
Okay, when, when, when he said on the broadcast, like I grew up watching Brett Favre. Like that's the second coming. If but even better, six five and yeah, two sixty. Yeah, like Brett Favre. In Ben Roethlisberger's body, right in better shape, with a better head on the shoulders, yeah.
And you know, I mean, no walking boot, dude. Yeah. So I can't. That's part of the reason why I have to call this overreaction. All right, last one.
Tweet of the week. Tweet of the week. Oh no, I want to do AFC North real quick. Oh, okay.
Sorry. Winner of Browns Steelers in Week Eight is going to win the AFC North. Dude, the Ravens are still in it, and so are the Bengals. Just because the Bengals are on a buy, and well, they don't exist. They're on a buy; they don't exist.
All right, Thanos. Big game. It's great. Steelers need to win this to stay in the mix to keep pace with the Browns. Because is Lamar playing football?
Yeah, he is. He just got hurt again. He got hurt again. Rinse and repeat, though. It's like every year, we have a forty-two-year-old guy that is getting blown up, and he just pops back up.
I mean, and Lamar, Lamar, Lamar hasn't answered the bell every week. I'm not the biggest Rogers fan, but man, is he playing? I know he's getting his ass handed to him half the time. He pops back up, and then he looks at Jeremiah Trotter Jr. goes, "I play with your dad," with a smile on his face, like he's literally he literally is being present to enjoy the moment.
Jeremy Bernard looks like a star, right? And and when he's not laughing it up with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and his teammates, he's telling. McCarthy to go f himself because the plays aren't coming in fast. McCarthy hit the blue tent yesterday.
Hit the blue tent, and the Steelers still keep ticking. Got a lot of talk about with Cam Hayward on on Tuesday's show in his usual Tuesday spot.
So yeah, I mean, half the divisions above five above five hundred too, and the Bengals who are my choice to win the division. They're they're at Baltimore next, so let's focus on that one.
So you are saying it's Browns versus Steelers? Yeah, is going to win it, not Cincinnati at Baltimore. No, okay. And by the way, can you blame Baltimore for saying we we got Atlanta with Snoop? Oh, pardon me.
That so so let's see what we can do against the Browns. You got to play that division game, dude. Come on, AFC North at Cleveland. It's just like for them a twilight zone. The Browns win at home.
They won at home against the Steelers. That's what you have to do. You have to hold serve at home. Come up with some other wins on the road, and they've done that so far. They're four and two, highly impressive.
As you know, I think Todd Munkin at the third of the might be coach of the year. He's in the coach of the year conversation for sure. But you can't sit here and say Browns Steelers is for the division when the Ravens and the Bengals play each other before it.
Okay, overreaction.
Okay, all right. Tweet of the week. Tweet of the week. As always, hit me up on Twitter on Sunday with your overreactions, and you two might be on the show today. Let's go to JJNW's ghost.
I don't know what that means. No division will have a repeat winner this year. Ooh.
So that means the Bills win the division, right? That means the anybody but the Steelers win the AFC North, correct? Right.
That means the Texans have to beat win the division. Yep, Texans. That means the Broncos don't win the division, right? All right.
So you've had me at hello here, NFC. That means the Eagles don't win the division. Seems likely.
Okay. That means the Bears don't win the division. That means the Panthers don't win the division.
Okay, and that means the Seahawks don't win the division. Yeah, I mean it's a good dart throw, right? It's good. It's good. It's a good right now.
You know, six looks pretty good. Dart throw right now looks pretty good. But you're telling me somebody's going to beat the Panthers in the NFC South? Falcons could do it, and somebody's going to. And obviously, it's wide open in the in the NFC North.
Yeah, I'll say this is not an overreaction. It's the first tweet I'm going to buy.
Okay, it's not an overreaction. We just sounded out. I mean, like it's who wants to be a millionaire? I almost went a fifty. Yeah, I did go fifty fifty.
I eliminated the AFC. Yeah, and we found it in the NFC. It's possible. It's not bad. It's in the ether right now.
Yeah, it's out there. It's up there. There's good. And this show is in there. That wraps it up.
Fun stuff, buddy. Fun. What a week. Yeah, John Turturro's on the show this week in studio, huh? Kurt Warner in his usual Wednesday spot.
