Hello. to dennis hello to carlos ortiz This is the national perspective with Carlos Ortiz and Bart Winkler here on the Winkler Verse. It is August 5th. Third. It is MLB trade deadline day.

And we'll get into the specifics of that. Cubs making. More moves than my brewers. Damn straight.

Well, also, we're looking up at you, so we have to.

Well, we did get Bone Nailer. Let's not get that. You also got somebody else from the Guardians, too. There were two people in that deal. Did we, though?

It was Bone Nailer.

Well, that's the thing. Bone Ailer was the headline. I forgot who the other guy was. Yeah, I think whatever. Um We're going to start with just Spider-Man.

You never texted me last night. It's the highest-grossing opening weekend movie ever. I did not know that. Yeah. It even beat it beat endgame.

That's crazy. I went into this movie with. Should we do spoiler-free-ish? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll try to go as much spoiler-free as possible.

If I have to like reveal something to get a point across, I will. Just say, hey. Spoiler, give you a three-second countdown to like pause or get the hell out of the way, whatever you're gonna do. But anyway, I'll try to keep it as clean as possible. I went into the movie with minimal expectations.

You told me it was good. I ran into a couple of people over the weekend, you know, at a baby shower or like various places that, you know, like they're like, hey, that movie was great.

Someone that I trust said it's the best movie that an MCU has put out since Infinity Wars. But I'm like, I did not want anybody's. opinions of it. To kind of go in there to affect how I was going to go into the movie. Like, I wanted, I came in there with.

Minimal expectations. I had my one theory, and the one theory was easily proven. It was the core of the movie.

So I was not surprised about the reveal of. You know who the villain was. Sure. But in any case I thought the Mui was fine. I'm still upset over a couple of things.

There still doesn't seem to be a large. connection with the universe. There were some connections. There was a Wilson Fisk poster on a dumpster. I missed that completely then.

Me too. I found that out later. Um I think It was a good movie. It's good. Do I think it's as great as people say?

Not really. My issue with it would be If you saw the trailer, you saw the movie. Basically. But that's not the movie's fault. That's a Sony thing because they do not have a lot of trailers that they have, especially when it comes to Marvel Properties.

They give you the movie in the trailer. Also It was basically like. What if Thunderbolts was spiders? Yes, dude. Literally, I had the same thoughts.

I'm like, they literally just took what happened in Thunderbolts and applied it to more, you know, and Thunderbolts is great stuff. And it's a good movie. It literally was copy-paste. It was Control-V and just insert Spider-Man instead of the Thunderbolts and insert such and such instead of.

Well, Bob. Yeah. That's as about a spoiler-free as I can get. I just I wish. I'm doing a rewatch of the MCU again.

Yeah, I just finished Ant-Man Quantumania, and I was like, God, it was so promising. The first phase, I mean, the whole. Everything does a really good job of like, oh, this, oh, Falcons and Ant-Man, and you know, Civil War, obviously. I'm on Falcon and Winter Soldier right now, which is way better than people give credit for. It is.

It is. It shouldn't be as lowly rated as it is. I actually thought it was probably top three in terms of Marvel TV shows that they produced. And I like watching Bucky and John Walker, and then they're and Sam, and they're going to be.

So that's what I'm kind of doing, knowing what I know, seeing how the characters flesh it out. It was a good movie. I just It feels like the problem with this MCU past phase four is. We're missing an Avengers movie. Correct.

We're going to get doomsday. We're missing an Advengers movie. Mason Crosby mentioned me.

Someone tell me why.

Okay, well, you can just go to your local app, whoever 1250 carries, and just rewind five minutes.

So I like the movie. I keep going into these movies wanting a little bit more. Maybe it's my expectation. I keep wanting more. I mean, I want like everything to be referenced.

So I'm way, you're never going to meet my bar. Same. You're never going to meet my bar. I think another criticism I have for it is I felt like the cameos. Or like, you know, the Marvel Connection Universe like additions.

They almost just felt random. It's like, all right, this is a Marvel movie. People are expecting someone to pop out. Let's just put this random person here. No explanation whatsoever.

And I felt like they did that for basically three people. Or three types of people. Do you have any SummerSlam thoughts? Didn't watch a single lick. I actually, because I was trying to stay off of social media, I did not want to.

I did not want anybody to ruin Spider-Man for me because, like, end game, the end got ruined for me. Literally, I've been about an hour before I went to go see the movie. And game got ruined for you. I was so I was furious. Like, I saw the Tony snap.

And I was like, are you fucking kidding me? Because some asshole sent it to me in a video where it was like, it started as a completely different video, like nothing to do about anything. And then, like, the twist was at the end.

Okay, Tony snaps. I'm like, are you fucking? And I actually wanted to fight that motherfucker, but I'm. You know, I got talked off a ledge, but so I stayed off. I didn't watch SummerSlam because I didn't want anything.

To get ruined. If this was a real radio show, we'd be doing the sports first and then getting to this stuff later. But it's not a real radio show. We care more about this stuff. Anyway, I do care about the sports shit, but I care about this more.

Do you did you watch? Are you going to watch SummerSlam? Um, probably can I give you a spoiler? Yeah, no, I actually know a couple of the spoilers already. Like, I know Fatal Attraction one, but who gives a fuck about them?

Like, all right, here's the worst thing WWE has ever done. Ooh, ever, or just in this pay-per-view, ever.

Okay. I'm listening. Ted Gable. Has been chasing the Intercontinental Championship for years. He finally wins.

Penta takes the belt. People start booing him. Penta says, relax. Puts the belt around Chad, puts Chad's hand up. Mm-hmm.

Chad's family comes out.

Okay. This is the, and then he does the speech that he did when he lost to El Grande Americano, yeah. This is the pinnacle moment of Chad Gable's life. And then who comes into the ring? No.

But the Mug Root Beer mascot. What? The Mug Root Beer mascot. Gives Chad a mug root beer. They cheers it like stone cold.

And the Mudroot Beer mascot is on the rope. Fist pumping. And then a graphic goes on the screen that says. Chad Gable has that D-A-W-G in him. They're already sponsoring the Slim Jim tables, the wing stop chairs, the ring sponsored.

The advertising is insane. It's worse than NASCAR. At least. Every match is sponsored. Yeah.

That's awful. The Mug Root Beer mascot. That's fucking I bet you about the Brewers with their whisko jersey because like they bring Cece Sabathia back and he's in this whisko jersey and forever he's gonna be like when Cece came back, he's in the shitty jersey. Whenever we look at Chad Gable's Career peak so far. It's a mug roopier mascot.

Huh? Oh. I mean Alright. Maybe maybe it's maybe it's a recency bias because it just happened yesterday.

Well what's worse? Is it the mug root beer uh advertisement in your face? Or is it Ryan Garcia siding with the Judgment Day a couple weeks ago on Monday Night Raw? Because that second was absolutely fucking terrible, too. Oh, my son listens to that song every day.

It's disgusting. Did you see what Dom posted? Dominic Mysterio? I did not see what Dom posted. He posted Marshawn Lynch.

I'm just here, so I don't get fined. Incredible. Yeah, 'cause they're making him fight Danhausen for human monies on a pole. Yeah, WWE it's a caricature of what it once used to be. It's the the bastardization of TKO and ESPN trying to legitimize it, which is ridiculous.

Like ever since they started taking all of this corporate money, they like Yeah, to your point, the advertisers are through the fucking roof and they're so blatant in your face. I remember in a Mountain Dew like slime match a couple of years ago. Who the hell was that? Was Was it Ellie and Bray Riot? I think, like.

Like the match was the mountain do something street fight. I was like, What the hell is this? But it's not it's worse They did a Stranger Things Raw, but then there was nothing about Stranger Things. Yeah, what was the Raw was written upside down? Like, Miz has been doing that on his microphone for years.

Like, it's the Mug mascot just jumped into our screen here. What the fuck? Yeah, so when we get inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame, the Mug Root Beer mascot is going to be the one that's. Yeah. Jesus Christ.

Except my Marconi. I have to. you know, give thanks to um Yeah. Carl's Place and the Dan Shaney Insurance. Yeah, we might as well, if we're promoting everything WWE promotes, we might as well give a thank you to Carl's Place Gulf Simulators.

They have a contest to win a golf simulator. I'm going to be sharing that info soon. Dan Shaney Insurance, he provides the video stream.

Well, Carl and Dan, they'll both be at the tailgate this Thursday. Um Did you see? Hold on, stay right there.

Alright, I'll just keep playing drops until you come back. Don't Hi Karamba! I gotta send you one of these fam. Boom! Winkler versus Koozie.

Koozies? I got so many koozies, I don't know what to do with, but I don't have that one. Dude, the brewers gave me a bag of shit to give away. Like bobbleheads and stuff. They gave me this cribbage board.

It's going on eBay for $150. I'll take that.

Well, no, I don't want anything brewers. I'm not a fraud. But I'm gonna uh Raffle it off. Free raffle at the tailgate on Thursday. Looks like it's going, but it costs a million dollars to go to Milwaukee.

So Yeah. All right.

So thanks to our sponsors and thanks to the WWE sponsors. The only sponsors that matter, by the way. Yes. As we sit here now. We are just before 1230 Central Time.

On Monday. It is the trade deadline. The trade deadline's around dinner time tonight. I think it's 6 Eastern. 5 Central.

Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile.

Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for $15 a month is back.

So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills. But it turns out, That's very illegal.

So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/slash switch. Upfront payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for a 12-month plan required. $15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes means slow when network is busy.

Only at a Sleep Number store or sleepnumber.com. The Brewers Made that trade with the Guardians. They did nothing. else up to this point. Bats are flying off the market.

I'll try to update everybody on who's going where. Ooh, that'd be interesting if the brewers got him. Uh Holmes? Yeah, Clay Holmes is uh is a target.

So the big news over the weekend. Saturday night, Terek Skubel is going to the Dodgers. Oh, I'm sorry. When you wanted to talk about a big pitcher on the move, I really thought you were talking about Kevin Gossman. Jorge Soriano.

That's another one.

So Cubs got a couple of pitchers. Yeah, we got Gosman, David Peterson, a couple weeks ago from the Mets, who's actually doing really well. Did you see this? Kevin Love Looks like he's going to go get a take a veterans minimum with the 76ers. What?

I don't know if this is a real tweet. But Oh, it's made with AI.

Okay, but I don't know if this is a real tweet.

Well, you got to fact-check that shit before you bring it on this program.

So, all right, I just literally looking at it in real time. Is Clay going to the heat? That'd be interesting. No, no, I don't think this is a real.

Well, even if love goes there, he's not going to play. He didn't play. He doesn't play. No, this is not real. It's one of those tweets that just got picked up.

Like ball sack sports, but its name is actually legitimate. Oh, I got, I block every one of those that comes up. Yeah, no, I saw that. I'm like, wow, this actually looks pretty real. And then on the bottom, it said made with real eye, or AI.

Tell me you're not one of these people. that sees Tarek Skubel go to the Dodgers. And then rather than blaming the Tigers or blaming the Dodgers. You blame the Brewers or the Rays for not doing enough. To get him because what's happening is.

We are in a society. And I don't know why this happened. But we we all will we will we will die for the rich. The rich don't have to do anything. The rich can fuck us over as much as they want.

We will defend them tooth and nail. We will, they want us to fight the poor as we fight the poors. Hell, we're all the poors.

Okay. We don't really work. I'll fight you right now. For the bro for any person. To say why didn't the brewers give up more?

First of all, the package that they reportedly were going to give the tigers was better than what the Dodgers gave them. The Tigers were never going to trade them to the Brewers, they always wanted to trade him to the Dodgers. They want to force a lockout.

Now, in the long run, could a lockout help the Brewers if there's a salary cap? Sure. Maybe.

So maybe you're a Brewers fan that likes the fact that you didn't get Scoobel. But what the owners want, and I'll say it for the 1 millionth time, is the owners want a salary cap, not a profitability cap. A salary cap means they keep more of the money without giving it to the players. Instead of paying the players $400 million, they can pay that same group of players $300 million. $300 million, which means another $100 million for the owners.

They just so happen to want what we want. But it's going to take a lockout. To get there, so fuck. The Brewers. Is not.

What you should be saying. Yeah, I do put a little onus on the Tigers, but I understand why they're. Oh, the Brewers are going to give up Logan Henderson. If they would have given up Logan Henderson, the Tigers would have then said, well, now they're not giving up this guy. The goalposts were always going to move.

He was never going to be a brewer. The Tigers, the Tigers, this is the same shit with the Luca trade. You have this trade.

Okay, sure. Tell, like, in fantasy football, how many times do you have trades with your buddies and then you go? Go to your other buddy, and you say, Hey, I'm going to do this trade. Can you beat it? You do it all the time.

Every single time. You do it in your fucking measly $50 Fantasy Football League. Why are real GMs not doing it? Why didn't the Tigers wait? This is a trade they could have made today.

There's no urgency to it.

So don't blame the Brewers. No, I blame the Tigers, number one, because it was a terrible package.

So I don't know how real this stat was. I saw it earlier. But essentially 60% of prospects who get traded never make it to the majors. And with the Dodgers package, you're getting three guys, one of them who will never see the majors, and that's that reliever that I or that right-handed pitcher that I can't think of what his name is anymore. It's like Brady Smith, I think.

You'll never see him ever. Zaheer Hope, I think, is the one piece that will make it to the Majors. River Rhine has But he's a bum. He's been in the minors for five years. He made the majors last year.

He didn't make it with the team coming out of spring training with the Dodgers this year. And they had a need for starters because their starters keep getting hurt. River Ryan, we already know what he's going to be. If he makes it to the majors again, he's going to have an ERA of four and a half for his career. He may bounce around a little bit.

If you're Detroit, why the hell do you make this deal? Other than the fact. Your owner told you to make the deal. Because he wants a lockout.

So I took a little impromptu poll yesterday. And I granted, I'm a nobody. Like, I don't have that many votes. I don't have many followers. I'm not on Twitter.

I don't give a shit. But I wrote, who's to blame for the Dodgers acquiring everyone? Because I'm curious. like you to see why is everybody siding with the billionaires.

So I put four options. I put the Dodgers, obviously. I put big markets acting cheap. Small teams with little money. or the current CBA.

Now, the current CBA won, that was the option. And then it became the Dodgers, obviously. If people are mad at the wrong, at the wrong organizations, yeah, you can be mad that the Dodgers ruined baseball. The framework of the deal is there. The Dodgers aren't doing anything wrong.

The Dodgers are doing what every person that's been living in a capitalist society has been grown up and bred to believe. Like, you must go accumulate as much wealth as humanly possible and leave crumbs for no one.

So, the Dodgers are doing just that. They have financial advantages over everybody. But the Dodgers aren't doing anything bad. The owners are the ones force feeding the Dodgers, all of these players, whether it's not offering high enough contracts or taking shitty packages back in trades. They want the Dodgers to be the face of baseball villainy.

So they don't get looked at like, how come you're not spending more money, Artie Moreno, Dick Monfort, Bob Nutting, all you various guys who refuse to put money into your organizations? The Pirates are in the wild card race. They fucking traded for Camilla Duvall, who the Yankees couldn't wait to get rid of. They're not making any real moves. The Tigers are two and a half games out of a wildcard spot.

Trading their fucking number one pitcher. Why? Because they don't want to put money into the organization. We can stop looking at the Dodgers like the bad guy. I listen.

I don't like what the Dodgers are doing. But I understand what they're doing is within the framework of the CBA, and they're allowed to fucking do it because everyone else is letting them. Nobody else wants to put money. The owners need to be getting dragged, tarred, and feathered, and we refuse to do it. We side with them because we would play baseball for free.

Because a millionaire is closer to what you make. A billionaire, you can't fathom.

So you'll sign with the billionaires. Because you'll never see that kind of money, but a millionaire, eh? They're kind of do what I do. You know, I could probably be a baseball player, I could have made it in college if I didn't get hurt.

So, this is asinine thinking, and this is why one out of every two men would have made the pros if they didn't get hurt in college. If only Coach put me in, we would have won state. You see that mountain? I could throw over it. But because we've all, most of us have had some semblance of fucking sports in our lives.

We had some modicum of success, or we played, or we love the game and this, that, and third. That's more relatable. than being the guy that owns Amazon. or Walmart. Like, you don't expect to own a corporation or to see BC.

Or, why do we side with these guys? Because again, athletes are closer, and it's crazy, but a professional athlete is closer and more realistic to us. Than being a billionaire Fortune 500 CEO.

So, because there's no way for us to make the connection of how do I become Jeff Bezos? But it's easier to be like, I could beat Bryce Harper, swing the fucking bat, run faster, catch a ball. That's something within our purview. Because we can Sort of be have a path to become athletes. We think athletes should think like us, and because they're millionaires, they can't think like us.

So we side with the billionaires because it just doesn't make sense, dude. It doesn't make sense. I got odds from Bet Online. I got this email. The over-under.

That is set. In Vegas, for how many games will be played in the 2027? MLB regular season, the over-under. right now to bet on is 99 and a half. Thunder.

I'm going to go for sure. We might not get baseball until 2029. They were ready to start playing baseball in 2020. In May, like mid-May, yeah, but then they Stretched it out for months because they couldn't agree on how much money the players should get because there were no fans in the stands. And this isn't going to be easy.

And what's the sticking points? The owners want a salary cap. The players do not. Where's the middle ground there? None.

There is none. It's either we have it or we don't.

So, and the baseball union that's the strongest in baseball because they don't give a fucking inch. And the reason they don't give an inch is they don't trust the owners. Why? Because the owners don't open up the books. We don't actually know who really is poor when it comes to major league owners.

A lot of them are crying poor. But we don't know because we don't see their books.

So there's a distrust between the owners and the players, and the owners will, you know, again, they got their scapegoat. It's the Dodgers. Hey, look at all the money they have. We can't compete with that shit. Shit's broken.

It's a broken system. It's an absolute broken system. Uh Bart, you gotta get Shep on like once a week too, man. All right, you know what? This is my last appearance, everybody.

You want Shep? Where's Shep? Ortiz is right. There's one. I don't think Bobby's saying Shep over Carlos.

No, no, I know. I just, I'm just having fun with it.

Some of the trades That have gone down. The Mariners are getting Taylor Ward. Yep, from the Orioles. The Braves are getting hashtag old friend Bren Souter. From the Angels, he pitched against the Brewers the other night.

Luis Arias is going to the Phillies from the Giants. They got a little log jam in their infield now.

Someone's going to have to go play outfield. It's going to. Oh, I thought the Cubs were getting sorry on them. No, the Blue Jays. No, was it the Blue Jays or the Phillies?

I'm lost now. There are a lot of moves. No, the Cubs only got Kevin Clark. My bad. Where did I read that?

Sorry, it is the Blue Jays. And which is funny because it's essentially like a kind of pseudo-trade because. The Cubs had DFA Jameis and Tyone, that baseball terrorists, finally. And it's the Blue Jays that wound up picking them up.

So, um It's like Kevin Gossman for Jamison Tyone in some crazy world. And I'll take it. Freddie Peralta is going to the Rays. When the Rays actually buy into somebody. That means I know that that player is better than what their metrics say.

The Mets probably just did not know how to use Freddy Peralta. Watch Freddy Peralta go on a fucking all-time tear right now, like Ceces of Zabathia did when he went to the Brewers. Because Peralta could not have just been that bad where he falls off a cliff. Mm, I don't know about that. I I think Freddy's kinda cooked.

You think it's Freddy and uh Fr was it, Flying Five or something like that?

Well, the Brewers, apparently, the Brewers didn't even look into bringing him back. There was no match there, I read. Which Freddie Even if the Brewers brought Freddy back, you can't pitch Freddy at Wrigley Field. No. Freddy.

Freddy. Then War just going to the Dodgers. with a because the met mets of trade him i don't even know who that is it's like a backup backup catcher MDK says if they lock out, it will be horrible for the game. And you'd be worse than 94.

Well, and this is the thing because I've talked about this a lot. You were there, 94, they go on strike. I was crestfallen. It's the Pee Wee Herman Ward of the Day. And it took me four years.

It took me steroids to get back in. I told my kid. That there's probably not going to be baseball next year. Yep. I mean, expect it.

I'll be shocked if we play.

Now, I was 10, he'll be seven. Mm-hmm. I don't know if it's going to affect him as much. At seven, because also when I was 10, I didn't have four nights of wrestling that I watched a week like he does. You should see his birthday parties coming up next week.

You should see all the shit he's getting. Uh he's getting he's already got a ring and he's got action figures. He's getting a money in the bank set. He's getting a neon light. He's getting a referee.

He's getting all this shit, man. You know what you should do if you want to be father of the century? Build him a Titan Tron walking into his bedroom. And like his bed is the ring.

So like every time he goes to the bed. you get this entrance music and you just hype to go to sleep. And then elbows the pillow. I probably shouldn't show this. I should probably keep it private.

But he's got an easel. I know what that is. And he wrote. Every wrestler he could think of the other day.

Now, I don't know how good he is at spelling. Seamus versus Well, she doesn't get released, so that's already debunked. Cody versus Brock versus Roman Cody with an E versus Oba versus R-Truth versus. LA Knight Dexter Loomis versus Joe Casey versus Austin Theory, which those two also got cut. Yeah.

Oh, KO came back and he popped so hard. No way, did he? Oh they had a number one contenders match Sammy first Vinn. And Nick Aldous came out and he said. I'm adding Gunther to the match.

Because Gunther beat him. And then he's like, I didn't say I was just adding one wrestler. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And so Kevin won. How about all these Kevin versus Punks?

I did see a little bit of that. What's that? He said, Aldous actually didn't look that bad in the match versus Gunther. But, like, what was the point of it? It's just like, all right, you got your one match.

Now go back to being a, you know, I don't know. I liked it. It was pretty, it was all right. But I don't know. Is it just to add another career for Gunther?

Because that push just never stops with that guy. Yeah. Well, he's not title, though. Yeah, but like So fucking boring. Roman beat Seth and then they did their thing.

Oh, yeah. Their shield thing. I don't know what this means for Seth next. I don't know. He'll probably, you know, I don't know how much longer he has with all the surgeries that he has.

Maybe he could just. be like the bloodline manager or some shit. The Brewers right now have the best record in all of baseball, like they did a year ago at the trade deadline. But that's not the issue. The issue is what's the rotation the Dodgers are going to have in the postseason.

Come the postseason. It might be their fifth or sixth starter. Like, that's insane. They keep saying Shohei's coming back.

So your five is going to be Glass now, Yamamoto, in no order. Shohei, Yamamoto, Snell, Glass now, Scoobel. Yeah, and you still have Roki Suzaki there, which granted, you know, he hasn't been effective, but he's still there. Ed Sheehan, which is, I don't know why the Tigers didn't at least go for him instead of River Roy. Robin Diaz, Tanner Scott, Robaleski.

There's a Robilevsky. Completely forgotten, not in the rotation right now. They could throw out a fucking rotation at seven, eight deep. And they're not and they're gonna they're gonna They're gonna cool it up. They're not Last year, everyone's like, well, because the Brewers beat the.

Dodgers in like late July or late August or something. And everyone's like, oh, we can contend with them, but we were. Against Sheehan, and we were against. Dustin May or whoever the fuck. And then they're saving these guys.

They save these guys for the playoffs. Dave Roberts said, You want to see us ruin baseball? We're going to ruin baseball. We're going to ruin it. And he was true to his word.

And they are going to ruin they are going to ruin baseball. On a baseball-related topic, I want to play this. From Pete Crow Armstrong. who was on the Marine Layer pod with Kristen Cavallari. Did you see this at all?

No, I mean, why would I pay? I don't, the fact that you're still giving Kristen Cavallari any airtime whatsoever, she got famous from an MTV reality show and being the chick that Jay Culler was banging. That's it. And we're still giving her airtime. Uh, here we go.

Purr and Snookie. Pete Crow Armstrong. I'm going to play for you, Pete Crow Armstrong on a podcast. It is one that I love. Really?

He never existed. I heard some pitcher with the Mariners, what's his name? Salcedo? You remember him? Salcedo, yeah, Lefty.

I think he did some podcast on Zoom when he was like going down the rabbit hole with somebody about how Beebruf never existed. I was like, I was like, dude, that's awesome. Wow.

So you're going to double down right now? No, it's like we always talk about how the game's evolving and like. People might as well have been like underhanding the ball to that guy and he's regarded still as one of the best players ever. And you might as well dive further into it and be like, well, maybe he just never existed. I love it.

I love it. So everyone's shitting on Pete Crow Armstrong for thinking Babe Ruth doesn't exist. I mean, listen, maybe if he was on another team other than the Cubs, I would have given it a little bit more thought, but I would have given it little thought.

Now I just give it no thought. Like, who cares, dude? He's just saying if he believes it. You're very silly, but it'll be Kyrie thinking that the earth is flat. And if you don't believe it and you're saying it tongue in cheek, then you're saying it tongue-in-cheek.

I don't think this is a fucking nothing burger.

Well, the conspiracy around Babe Ruth isn't that he didn't exist, it's that he was white. Oh, now Babe Roof being black, that's a conspiracy I'd like to dig into further. That would be very interesting, but I If you're telling me Babe Roof existed and he was just this... fat like Carpenter-plumber hybrid that all he did was drink beer and eat hot dogs in a dugout. And all right, let me just go slug, you know, six dingers today.

I think the most unbelievable part of that would be would have been that he's white. Greg, Mr. Positive, tried to call. I can't. I have a link, Greg.

If you can video the link, you don't even need video. You can just. But go through that. I don't want to hold my phone up to the thing anymore.

So if you want to get in on this, there's a link. Oh, in the comments and you can. Get in that way. Otherwise, the ringers going off and I can't Fucking hear Pete Crowe Armstrong, and I don't think dinosaurs existed. Mm, no, they exist.

We got dinosaurs now. We have like the descendants of dinosaurs. You know, what do you think birds are? Those used to be, you know, pterodactyls. Kyrie was right about the clot shot.

I mean, listen, everyone's everyone's taking their victory lap about that. I almost put this as the same conversation. Why? What? Nothing happened.

Nothing happened, dude. I don't have a fucking third dick. You know, uh, you know, I don't have a second actually. I have people aren't dropping dead. What are you?

I told you so. You taken the prize for being right. I took the COVID shot and it aged my face six years. I took the COVID shot, and all of a sudden I can bench press 225. I never did that before the COVID shot.

But since I got the COVID shot, I'm repping 225. Let's not pay attention to the fact that I joined the gym and I've been doing it for about a year and a half. It was all because of the COVID shot. Why in anybody's right mind would you even Want to talk about the code shot? Who the fuck is Fochie on fucking talking about shit?

He's definitely a fraud. Looks like an absolute fraud. What the fuck are we doing? Up there like Dave Chappelle to my fifth, one, two, three, four, fifth, plead the fifth. We have an NFL game this week.

Did you know that? Panthers and Cardinals.

Okay. Panthers, their season's already over. They've had like two players already go on to the season-ending IR. I mean, 49ers losing one. What the fuck's up with Jalen Polk retiring?

Random out of nowhere. I have no idea. Did the COVID shot get him? You know what? Maybe because he gets the cover chat when he was 18 and he can't play anymore.

It's very possible. But, you know, Jalen Polk, he was supposed to be a fantasy darling with the Patriots and just, all right, well, now I'm done. I traded a fourth-round pick for him in my Dynasty League. Oh, did you? Oh, you didn't recoup.

That's what I cut him for. What'd you get them for? No, I just cut him in a little. And I picked up off the waiver wire. To Sean Watson.

We might fucking start. It's crazy that apparently the camp battle in the Browns is a lot closer than people think. The Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring utility man Josh Smith and right-hander Josh Steffen from the Texas Rangers for a left-handed release. Uh Josh Smith. And I just clicked on it.

So now it's going to take 20. The Atlanta Hawk? No, the uh the Toronto Blue Jays. Targeting Josh Smith. And Josh Steffen.

from the Texas Rangers for left-handed reliever Adam Macco. You sure it wasn't Josh Smith that played with the Hawks, Pistons, Rockets, Clippers, Rockets, and Pelicans? No, uh, it definitely wasn't that Josh Smith. Uh, I almost thought NBA slam dunk contest champion 2005. I had to do a Josh Hart from the uh from the Knicks.

I'm like, that would be pretty interesting, but uh. I just wanted to report the news because it's coming. Bobby wants to know if Shep was the nicest guy at Infinity Sports Network. Who's the nicest guy? I think I want to say no.

David? Our boss? He could be a little hard ass once in a while. I would put David below Shep, but I think the nice, I don't think it was a guy. I think the nicest person in the Infinity Sports Network.

Out of everybody, talent, backstage, all that. Maggie Gray is an absolute sweetheart. Maggie's the best. I would say Maggie. The only two I met in person are you and Gelb.

Kelp's a dick, but he's a funny dick. Like, you know, he's a guy. But yeah, Gilves an ass. No, I think Maggie by far was the nicest person in Infinity. And there's no shade to Shep whatsoever.

I like Shep, and I've told Shep this too. I just think some of his nice is disingenuous. Like, you can't be that nice. Like, it's a little weird. Who was the biggest jerk?

Jim Rome. No, because Jim Rome did he didn't even acknowledge you. Didn't even acknowledge you. I have a name, but I'm not saying it. Yeah.

I got a name. Is it an on-air name? We know who it is. We know who it is. And I like him, which is funny, but you know, but two things can be true.

I like him, but he's a jerk. Who? Am I saying a name or am I just being cool? Like, I think I can be cool. You don't say the name.

Yeah, but you know who it is. I don't know if I do. You know who it is. Because you were previously on my side about it. Everyone knows Carlos was the nicest, Bart was next.

I think I was a top three. Nice person there. But I think the reason I was so nice is that I know that there's not a single person that would have ever like threatened me. Because I think everyone knows that I've killed people.

So I think most people just kind of were nice to me back.

So it was easy for me to be cool. But um I think that's why I get kind of. would be up on the nice list. I'll put you in the dirt if you weren't nice to me. I don't even feel like that part of my life happened.

Like we actually had jobs. Like it's whenever I see anyone in public or They either mention the podcast or they mention Chuck and Winkler, which I did. In Milwaukee, Chuck. They never mentioned the Infinity Sports Network. You think that's bad, dude?

Nobody mentioned, nobody has mentioned. I've been on Westwood One Sports for fucking eight months. Nobody has mentioned that whatsoever. At all. Yeah.

It's like it's not even on my resume, which I should update. Because I need to send my resume. I don't know. I catch it sometimes. On accident?

Because I don't. Again, I work here, I've never listened to anything, I don't know where to find it. I know it's almost all the same great affiliates, but you know, I didn't listen to Infinity. outside of the app and when I until I was work when while I was working there. Um Kristen Cavallari is hot, by the way.

Let's just not. I don't want to denigrate her physical appearance, but talent, there is none.

Sorry to do this to you, but in soccer news. Do I have my drop ready? I do not. Go ahead, continue. Pachatino is coming back.

He is. I did see that actually. The USA coach is going to come. back through the 2030 World Cup cycle. Open wide.

For some soccer! I did not go to the world. I always thought when the World Cup was coming back here, I would go. And you didn't go. I didn't go.

I would have gone if... I probably would have tried to gone if Infinity was still around. I probably would have tried to make a trip. I think that would have been viable too, because it was literally, you know, and MetLife is in their backyard. I definitely would have gone if there were games in Chicago, which there were not.

Right. Right, but you know, Kansas City's not that far from you. Could have gone, you could have gone to Kansas City, go see uh Ecuador versus Egypt or some shit. But uh, you know, it's funny when they talk about FIFA, we didn't bring it up. Uh, What the hell is his name?

Gianni Infantino. Infantino. Yeah, he backed up. I think he's trying to get shit canned. I think he's trying to get a payday on Get the Way Out.

Golden Parachute? Yeah, because it didn't make any sense. He's trying to private equity something that doesn't need it. Basically, everybody except Qatar, and I think. The African uh Confederation said yes.

Everyone was going to boycott the World Cup.

So a couple days later, he walks it back because his hamstrings must be strong as fuck. But yeah, that was the strangest thing. But I get some stock into what you're talking about. It sounded like a golden parachute scenario because how do you float something that's going to get universally killed? Like you typically run that by somebody before you get it to the public.

I've got, you know, when people chip into the kitty here, I've been using it for the tailgate. I've been using it for equipment. My microphone just died, so I'm going to get a new one of those. Once I replace that, I'm going to start. I'm going to start raising funds for the Send Bart to Spain in Morocco Fund.

I want to go to the 2030 World Cup. Is that where it is? Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. Oh my God. And then the opening games are in Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.

That's strange. But wow, Spain opening as defending champions in the World Cup. And Spain's already gorgeous. I went to Sevilla and Madrid. But there's still other places in Spain I want to go back to.

I thought they don't like the American tourists as much as some of the other European countries. Is that true? I think it depends on what region you are because in Madrid, there were so many tourists. And it's not just American ones. There were tourists everywhere.

Like my tour group had, you know, French, you know, Russian. There was a bunch of people out there. I think that that's a little bit overblown because I heard about the same thing that they don't like American tourists. But when we went over there, we didn't have a problem. Like everything was fine.

I didn't feel like I was upcharged or anything. Because I speak Spanish.

So I looked at the prices. I'm like, you know, how much is this true? They told me the price. It matched up on the board. Like it felt fine.

So I don't know. Maybe if I was like, you know. Like Tiffany from California. Hey, can I get a double macchiato with that churro, please? Melted chocolate.

Maybe they would have given her a fucking 30% American VAT tax, but. Because I was me. How many other countries have you been to? Non-war division? Uh non-war division.

Where did you serve? Uh well I went right I went to Iraq that went in like Kuwait at the time that I went was uh wasn't considered a green zone.

Now it's like it's basically a vacation. Uh, but you go to Kuwait, um, I went out of Fort Hood.

So Kuwait was basically there to kind of like. Pre-mob you so like you can climatize and like get used to the heat and all that shit. And then I went to Iraq for 15 months. Then I did everything back in reverse. My deployment, but basically felt like fucking two years.

Did you see any grass? Grass? What's grass? A lot of dirt, a lot of sand. No, it's there, but it's just, you know.

It is like a lot of a lot of deserts, a lot of open. dry air like the air conditioning systems out there is very weird it's like a It's like dry ice towel type of shit. It's strange. But yeah, for the army, it was just that. Everything I've traveled more as a civilian than I ever did in the military.

So where have you been? Greece, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic. I am Spanish, so there's gonna be a lot of Spanish countries in there. Uh that thing was a that was in r Aruba two years ago, one happy little island.

So yeah, I've been to some places. I've been to Jamaica twice for some fucking reason. I've never been there. But I like what from what I hear about Jamaica is like you just stay where the sandals or the resorts are because yeah, but you gotta drive an hour to get there. Ah, because yeah, yeah, because if you know, you're going to fucking Kingston, you're getting mugged unless you're buying like eight pounds of weed, like.

I've been to Mexico twice. Oh yeah, I've been to Mexico. I forgot about that. I might actually do a high rocks race in Mexico. I'm still trying to debate.

Uh, not rather, uh, I'm still trying to see if uh, number one, my wife still loves me, and number two, uh, will her parents uh come and like watch? Because I'm like, if I'm gonna run it, like. Yeah, I need a little support section. I'm not. doing it for fucking nothing.

And then I was in Germany. My buddy was in Germany for actually for military because that was his annual training. They landed the day that Germany was facing, I think, what, Brazil for the World Cup a couple of years ago.

So they got there that day. And they were able to experience Germany winning the World Cup in Germany. That is a killer. uh fucking thing to be jealous of. For a while.

I got to fact-check this before I bring it up. I don't think I've ever brought this up publicly. Hold on. Yeah, while you do that, I'm going to see if I can snap my neck. It's bothering me.

Um not really. Nah, I can't get it. No, okay, I guess not. No, nothing real. For the longest time, I I thought I flew back to the United States.

On a plane with a 9-11 hijacker. Wow.

What? There You didn't expect that, huh? I did not know that's where you were going.

Well, there was a guy on our flight. That Fit the description. And he sat there on the plane. The entire time. Not moving.

Yeah. He turned down every Water, meal. Snack. He didn't get up. You think he was locked in to like wait for the time to like rush the cockpit or do whatever he was going to do?

Tim might need to edit this. Too late, it's live. I don't know. It was weird. It was weird because I thought some of them flew out of Frankfurt, which is where we flew out of.

Oh. You could have been on that plane. I did two weeks in Germany, one was with a family. How's Germany? One was um With the group.

Okay. The girl was like. An outcast, so we didn't get invited to any of the parties. You stay with the black sheep of the family? And then I remember she had a brother too.

And the brother, the entire time I was there, he would wear clothes to school. And then he would get home and he would change into his sweats. But he wore the same sweats every day. And I thought, why are you wearing the same clothes every day? Flash forward to me.

And I have a pair of buck shorts I've been wearing for two weeks unwashed. Did I bang the girl player? No, but I did. I did, um Did you have French fryer? I did drop my seat in the German toilet.

Yeah, if you haven't nutted in another country, have you been to that country? I think that that's like a given. That's what that's what I always say about that's what I always say about jobs. Like, if you didn't jerk off at your job, can you even put it on your resume? I've never jerked off my job.

So I guess I've not worked actual. I guess I've worked at Westwood One Sports because it is in my house.

Sometimes you just reach a natural conclusion, and I think this is that. Thank God, because I think that slate. Tim, if you wouldn't mind cutting out the last 20 minutes, that would be good. Why is this podcast so short? Carlos, always good to talk to you.

Thanks. I miss ya. Let's not say that. I'll see you next week. All right.

We'll be back tomorrow with if the brewers do anything. Above the bone nailer pay grade. Maybe I'll hop on later this afternoon. I hope you're radio silent for the rest of the day, then. I will be on channel twelve around 4.40.

I'll lock into that. Oh, wait. We're going to debut the Winklerverse hat. That's smart. I think you should get, you know.

get that grassroots organization off and going. Or although, which hat do you like better? I'll wait. It's not like I'm sweating. I'm sweating.

That's why I put on an extra shirt. I could go black. Oh, the black one is fired.

Now that one is fucking flames, man. Absolutely. Just curve it a little bit, though, because you look like Rob Dierrich. Yeah, that's my look. No, the flat brim is awful.

Unless you're hosting 16 Hours of Ridiculousness version 2. Curve the brim a little bit. Should I double time it? Don't double time it. Don't do that.

Yeah. I'm going to go on TV with a hat that says into the Winklerverse. That's a flex. I did a hit the other day in Toronto and they go. Big off.

Uh from into the wi winkler winkle verse. No one could ever fucking say it. Don't Winkler, winkler, winkler. Oh, then my kid then I my kid thought our name was Wink Uller. Winkler?

He's like, our name is Winkler. Like, no, that's not it. I said it's Winkler. Yeah. My dogs just decided to lay on my cords.

Wing color. Winkler. Winklivers. All right.

Carlos, good to see you. Yep. I'm here. Thanks for stopping into the Winklerverse. Bye, guys.

Okay.
