The Green Bay Packers' unique ownership structure is under scrutiny as the team faces financial challenges and pressure to adopt a more traditional ownership model. Critics argue that the team's refusal to sell naming rights to Lambeau Field is a missed opportunity for revenue, while others defend the team's commitment to its community and tradition.

Okay. Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome into the Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler on this random Tuesday, the 28th of July. This will be the episode for the day.

We will do it sometime later in the week. It's not going to be today, could be tomorrow, could be Friday, won't be Thursday. As I will be watching the new Spider-Man. Very excited about that. Reviews look good.

I did read a few spoilers of who may not or may be in the movie. It's very hard to. Resist not looking at all that. I just finished watching Avengers Infinity War. on my rewatch part two.

So after this, I'm going to go watch.

some of end game until I have to pick up My kid. Um, I just love it. I know it gets weird, but I love it. And I'm trying to watch the relationships prior to whatever, who cares? I want to talk about the Green Bay Packers.

And the title of this episode is: Capitalism is Coming for the Green Bay Packers, because that seems to be. My main takeaway from the shareholders meeting yesterday.

Now, typically, There is no takeaway from the shareholders meeting. Typically, they give you a bunch of facts and factoids and numbers and figures and the board talks and it's boring. I usually repost when I went in 2017 where it's very exciting. You get up to the stadium. It's been a long time before you've seen the Packers.

And so you get out to the stadium, and it's like, oh my God, football is back. And then you get in the bowl. And how many times a year do you get to go to a game and get to pick these seats that are so great?

So that's part of the experience. But typically it's exciting until it starts and then it's like, let's get out of here. That's typically what it is. This time There was a little more attention put on it because this was the first time that Ed Policy. Was directing this meeting.

So maybe I should have gone. for that. Quick tangent. I was glad at first that I didn't go. because of the weather that ended up happening around Green Bay.

I don't know what kind of weather I would have been coming back in. I can't believe what happened to Menasha. The Appleton area, Nina. That goatie island up there, that's very nice. There's a lot of damage, and we've seen tornado damage, and we know, and we respect tornadoes.

I still think like in our heads. They still affect like the really, really small towns. Not that that's anything, I mean, better. But to be to be in a city that a lot of us are familiar with, Appleton. And then to know Manasha, to know Nina, and to see that destruction.

It does make it, I think, a little more. I mean it's just more damage. And there's a lot of people affected. I hope everybody is able to get out of this okay, and the rebuild is going to be tough, and we lend our. Measly support here on this channel, however, we can.

But very dangerous scenes coming out of there, and just want to make sure everyone is okay and give our thoughts. to what's going on and again, try to help in whatever way You know, we can, or any of you. I'm sure there's people that watch this that live in Manasha or Appleton or Nina. And so we are thinking about you. Certainly.

Um I will now get back to the stuff that doesn't matter, the sports. Um That's always weird when you say T's and P's and then you get back to complaining about some other random shit.

So I'm gonna I'm gonna make that bridge a little more. Awkward by showing you, look what I bought. Zero mountain dew.

So I went to Metro Market again. And the Mountain Dew Diet Zero Mountain Dew Bandit is back. They're always taking my bottles. I like to get the bottles. It does taste better in the cans.

But the bottles are easier to store and bring around and then close back up. If you crack open a can, you got to drink the whole can. Shout out to one of my brothers. He was notorious for opening a soda, having two drinks, putting it back in the fridge.

So there would just be like eight cans open. And it was very annoying. And he never had any intention of going back to drink them.

So I needed zero mountain dew, so I found cans. And then I saw this brand, Zero Sugar Mountain Dew Baja Cabo citrus, tropical citrus punch.

So this is one of my Pet peeves with like Books that come out these days. The title is never like Make money fast. It's always like. Make money fast. One man's journey into venturing the systems of stock market and manipulation, and how I got to be a millionaire.

It's always like a 40. word title. And so now that's coming into sodas. Zero sugar mountain dew, Baja Cabo Citrus, Tropical Citrus Punch. And that's what I'll be drinking today.

A little too early for a Happy Place Hemp Seltzer, promo code BART, 25% off each and every order at Happy Place Hemp. I've got no promo code for the Mountain Dew. I've already tried this. It's actually pretty good. I would keep it in the can.

If you pour it in a cup, it's like a bright radioactive pink. And you wonder what you're ingesting. It kind of looks like my SummerSlam hat, actually, which is a very. Nice hat, but I don't know about. as a liquid.

All right, very good.

So let me talk about the Packers in the shareholders meeting. There's a couple of angles I want to take here. The excitement level. The Lack of urgency from Ed policy. To Make change.

and the comfortness he is with what you're getting from the Packers. But then also the profitability and the finances. One thing that So the pros and cons, here's my stock. Peace, by the way. Bartwinkler.

It's got my old North Fond du Lac address on there when I lived. In an apartment with a couple of my boys. Um There's my number. December 19th, 2011. It's got the seal.

Mark Murphy. If I want to Give up my stock. I can do that on the back. It is worth one. Zero of a thousandth.

Dollars.

So This is the worthless piece of paper. That people always mention. This is it. Right here, a proud owner for 15 years. of my life.

And I cherish it. That's why it's. raw dogging without a frame. It should be right behind me. Maybe I can put it in front of striker.

who I do need to take down this World Cup logo. Uh All right, having a hard time. Doing that.

So I'll throw it in the discard pile right now with all my other signs. that have come down. Recently.

So I'll just put it there for now. But Ed policy We talked a lot about the finances. And that's one of the cons. Of the Packers' ownership structure being the way that it is. The pro is that we're not worried about them moving.

The pro is that they were bad for 30 years. And There was no threat of them leaving Green Bay. They had to play in Milwaukee three times a year to stay viable, but eventually they were viable enough. where they could just play all of their games in Green Bay. They built a title town district.

They're doing everything they can to make that a year-long facility. Instead of just Eight, nine. 10 days a year. to really be profitable. Um Thank you, Tim.

Good morning students. Zakra teaches us teamwork, leadership, geometry, art, physics, and a lifetime of lessons we can take with us long after we leave the field. That's why Bank of America and U.S.

Soccer are committed to helping bring soccer to every school.

Soccer is officially in session. Raise your hand to help bring soccer to schools at bfa.com/slash soccer at schools. Hear that? That's now Crispier McCrispy Strips meeting creamy Caesar sauce.

Sounds extra crispy. Caesar sauce at McDonald's for a limited time. Bada map papa. I got married at this facility. And I think they told us we had the highest open bar at the time.

I can't imagine that was passed. This was a bunch of Fondi drinkers.

So I can't imagine that open bar uh was passed. And Because in Wisconsin If you go to an open bar, it's almost like a shock. Yeah, free beer and wine. But a truly open bar? Still paying for that.

So they're making money. A pro a problem. And another pro. We don't have to worry about Hammond. You know, the Illinois Hammond, Illinois, Indiana Bears.

But a con is they reveal their finances. And that gives anybody... With the Motivation. a chance to read more into the NFL. Finances than the NFL probably wants, but this is something they just have to deal with.

So I don't know how much like the NFL likes this. And then also. It allows people to be very critical. And even though we have an ownership structure that's keeping us in Green Bay. It allows people to take a look at us and say, Actually, are you sure you're going to be able to stay?

in Green Bay. Tom Silverstein wrote a great article, PackersNews.com. I'll mention some of it. It was kind of biting. On the Ed policy.

Performance in general. And Tom was also very critical of LaFleur at the end of the season. Even though LaFleur's tenure didn't come to an end. It looked like it might. The most critical I think the beat can be.

And this is human nature. This is not a slam on anybody. Is it the beginning, the less you know? And then at the end, when it looks like there's going to be a separation. Because during You know, you're trying to, you're not trying to play nice, you're just, but you're doing your job and you don't want to ruffle the feathers and you just want to report on what you see.

You can get a little more bite in the beginning. And you can get a little more bite at the end. I think.

So they talked about the finances. They refuse. This is another big thing I don't get. They refuse to reveal how long Goody and LaFleur are under contract. Or how long Goody's under contract, and if it matches up with LaFleur.

I don't really care about that. I don't care how long the GM's under contract. I don't need to know that. A lot of people disagree. A lot of people want to know that.

I don't really need to know that. Because I've never Maybe twice. When a GM loses his job, how many times is it?

Well, the GM's contract expired and then he left. Or the GM went to go be a free agent, GM somewhere else. Or there's a bidding war on Brian Gudekins, the free GM, free agent GM. No. It's usually This GM got fired.

Well, how long was left? We don't even ask that.

So I don't care. How long is Goody's contract? Goody's the general manager until he gets fired. In my opinion. I mean, they don't do anything different with that.

Coaches, I would say, are a little different. But Uh Yeah. All right, so one of the things that Ed Policy talked about. was He warned that other teams are racing ahead of the Packers in financial growth. Because they are able to raise cash by selling small, non-controlling shares.

of their team to private equity firms. and are benefiting from public financing of new Or renovated stadiums.

So, yeah, you've got your Giannis buying into the Brewers, you've got your Rodgers buying into the Bucs. But there's other these private equity firms like private equity. Buying into the Big 12 or some of these conferences or athletic programs, the Utah Athletic Program. Basically these programs are selling out. Their soul to be run by Private equity corporations, nameless, faceless corporations.

that are looking at you as a revenue builder. that are looking at you for growth. And they're going to suck the soul out of your system, out of your conference, out of your league. other than your sport. Right?

They're going to suck the soul out of all that. But it's going to make you financially viable.

So, you're essentially selling your soul to the devil. The devil is just private equity. The devil in this case may be Capitalism. Quick aside on capitalism. Capital capitalism.

Everyone seems to be talking about capitalism and socialism and communism. Sports, I've talked about this, are socialistic. If you Do the worst. You get the best chance at a pick. That is Socialism.

That is helping the lowest of us. by collectively giving them what they need the most. Capitalism would be Full-blown capitalism in sports would be you buy the number one pick. Or there is no draft at all, you just pay for people. Like like in the Premier League in soccer.

The rich teams can afford the best players 'cause they can pay them the most money. Baseball. I don't need to go to England. Baseball's capitalistic.

Now then there's the draft, which is different. But the free agent aspect of it, at least for now. is capitalistic. Silverstein goes back to say: the fact is, the Packers have been competing with financial giants for decades. Jerry Jones is as rich as they come, it doesn't equate to Super Bowls.

So, there's a couple different arguments we could have here. Do you need to be financially viable to compete for Super Bowls? You do not. All right, that debate's over. But do you need Are the Packers we look back to the piece of paper?

We think this is the shield over Wakanda. But as I just watched. It can be penetrated.

Okay. If The aliens are willing to kill themselves to create openings. Or Thanos can just pop up wherever he wants. Inside the shield. Yeah.

This I feel Grants the Packers the right to stay in Green Bay forever. And they have the rainy day fun, and they're smart about that. But I think, and Florio, who I'm going to play a clip of, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. He's thinking like a businessman, and he's been banging the drum forever that this model eventually will not work. That eventually the Packers will either have to go the traditional ownership route.

or cease to exist. because they're not gonna be able to keep up. I want to play this quote that was just posted today. Mike Florio and Chris Sims on their podcast, PFT Live. And the title of the tweet is: The Packers can't complain about revenue issues.

while also refusing to sell the naming rights. To Lambeau Field. I'll play it. That yeah, my address. My address is on the stock.

When I lived in an apartment in North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. If you want to go. and knock on this door and see who lives there now, be my guest. Don't harass them. I don't live there.

All right, I'm going to share this and play it. It's about 90 seconds. Listen to it and let me know. If you feel any emotion from it, because I know I certainly. I certainly did.

Here's Mike Florio and Chris Saves. Uh Tim Uh here's Mike Florio. And Chris Sims.

So typically when I press play on a video, it's supposed to fucking play. If you sell the naming rate, who cares? if you sell the naming rights. This isn't a church. It's a football stadium.

It affects nothing about the experience for anyone. It is stubbornness and it has lost money every single year. Whatever you think about it, that ship sailed 25 years ago. It is found money. It is money for nothing.

You do nothing other than put the sign up. or cover the sign up. If FIFA's coming to town for the World Cup. Other than that, all you do is put the sign up and you cash the check. I think it's a mistake to not do it.

And you can't. Whine about not having enough money. And then say, Oh, we're not going to sell the naming rights to the stadium. Yeah, it's surprising. It is surprising.

I mean, in the era we live in right now, where everybody and especially corporations are looking for every last dollar they can absolutely get, it's shocking. I will say, though, I applaud it. I applaud it. I, you know, I don't want them to lose that name. And I know what you mean.

It doesn't really mean anything, but it is special. I guess if they did lose it, I'd want it to be like it can still be Coca-Cola Stadium at Lambeau Field or whatever. Right. That's where it has to be. I hear you.

I hear you. But there is something special about that Lambeau Field or Soldier Field or Yankee Stadium, you know, as a traditionalist. I do like that, but I do understand the era we're in. And you're not wrong. The Packers not having an owner is a detriment to them.

They're at a disadvantage. There's no doubt about that. That's a pretty bold claim. Let me remove that here.

Some shout outs. Matt North of Madison chips in $5. That'll go right to the tailgate. Matt, thank you very much. That is well appreciated here on the channel, uh, RC.

MC Moose Knuckle. Miss hearing you on the radio after work up here in Canada. Subscribed. I missed being on in Canada. I really enjoyed being on in Canada.

I've never been to Canada. I was going to drive up there one day in college and then, I don't know, we got. Drunk instead, classic.

So many things about that video I just played for you that I'm upset with. When Florio's like Yes, yes, yes, it's so simple. Coca-Cola Field at Lambeau Field. That's stupid. The empower at mile high.

Well, we still call it. G E H A at my at Arrowhead. Yeah, we still call it Arrowhead, we still call it Mile High, but it's not the same. It's not the same. It's not the same, and Chris Sims is saying, I'm a traditionalist.

This shouldn't be, you shouldn't have to say. you're a traditionalist because you want it to stay Lambo field. That shouldn't make you a traditionalist. That's where the base should be. But they keep talking about in this era.

In this era where corporations need every last dollar. In this era where you know, private equity. This era is happening. And it's happening. Without our Control.

Because those that have all the money are making all the decisions. But It would be nice. I don't even think we need to revolt. Like, we don't need. I talked yesterday about grocery stores and grocery bills, and everything's going up, and all people do is like complain about it.

But what do we do? We still buy the same shit. Oh man, the soda costs more than I expected. I'm still buying it though. This costs more than still buying it.

We haven't really changed our habits. We're still going out. We're still having big events. We're just stacking up the credit cards, you know, waiting for another crash, I guess. We're still finding a way.

We're complaining about it, but we're not. But we don't even need to take to the streets. We just need to be like, Maybe I won't buy soda. They're going to raise it. We're stop buying these products.

Could we all just agree that next time the prices get raised, we just don't buy that product? No, because supply. is not changing. and demand is not changing. And so they're gonna They're going to keep raising prices and we're going to keep paying the prices.

We're like not adhering to supply and demand That you were taught in school.

So when Florio's talking about Yeah, they should just give in. I don't need us. to be if if private equity is way over here. And then The revolt is way on the other side. Those are the ends of the extreme.

I don't I don't even need us to be in the middle. I don't need us to be close to. I just don't need guys like Florio. that are so willing. To just say Yeah, well, this is the way it is.

They should just do it. This is what I was bitching about with Carlos yesterday and the owners. The owners in baseball want to pay their guys less money. And we're going to say, yes, we like that because it's better for us. There'll be a cap.

We are siding with the richest of the rich. We always do. If there's Poor? Middle class poor, middle class, upper middle class. Rich and then super rich.

We always side with the super rich. Even if we're in lower middle class.

Somehow we don't think I want to be middle class. We think, no, someday I'll be rich. We think it's so easy to be rich. If I wasn't, if I if I was rich. I'm staring at this $5 Matt gave me like...

That is huge for me.

Okay. I don't think I'm going to be rich anytime soon. I just want to be able to keep uh Doing this. Robert says, in this era where nothing matters but money, and fuck the rest of you. Lance says, sure, it's free money, but what are you really giving up at your soul and a part of your identity?

That's a good one, Robert. We're in this era where it's money over anything. And I don't like how we've just acquiesced to that.

So yes, other teams are Selling their soul and being very corporate, and every stadium looks the same, and it's a soulless experience. And then instead of Looking at the places like Lambeau Field and saying, Yeah It is weird. It's in a town of 100,000. It is weird that they have bleachers for a majority of the stadium. It is weird that they still have a name that doesn't make money for them.

We should look at that and respect that. And say, look, it can still be this way. Instead of people rushing to say, no, no, no. It needs to be the other way.

So I don't like where the conversation has been trending. I think it's going to take something extreme. for the Green Bay Packers to ever not exist. I think it's going to take something extreme. For the Packers to just say, oh, by the way, Yeah.

We've changed the bylaws. These stocks mean nothing. We have an owner now. One of the sultans of Saudi Arabia has bought the team. I don't, I, I, I, I, I'm just more worried than I've been previously.

Then maybe this doesn't last forever. Nothing does, but. I don't There seems to be there almost seems to be a coordinated rush. of this Packers model needs to go away. And then every time we have the shareholders meeting.

It will come up again. because people will be able to look at our finances. And say, well, here's where you're missing the opportunity. For every last dollar. Nobody has ever.

Had an amount of money. And then said That is good for me. They are always looking for ways to make more money. I would say one of the big problems with capitalism. Yeah.

Like 10% revenue growth makes you very profitable. And if you keep now that you're at that 10%, if you just keep that, you're going to make money every year. But they don't look at that. They look at the 10% and say, it needs to be 12%. It needs to be 15%.

We need to always be making more money. We can't just make a profit, we need to make more of a profit than we made the year before. That is a problem. That puts a lot of people out of work. That ruins a lot of lives.

Elon Musk lost $600 billion last month alone. Did I see that correctly? Or six billion or sixty billion. It was something billion. But we don't even get mad at it.

Because again, we can't comprehend how much that is. Million, we can comprehend, million and billion. A billion is a thousand million. We can't comprehend that. We should be more mad at these people.

We should be more like mad at these people. Instead, we're just happily buying $8 loaves of bread and $12 gallons of milk. And we're cogs in the system.

So If you'd like to hire me for any job, you can email me into the Winklerverse. At gmail.com. I just don't want to see the Packers fall into this trap that everyone else is. Notre Dame's got sofi uniform patches. This isn't where we need to be.

This isn't where we need to be. It's not even traditionalist. Traditionalists would be like. No gates sponsored at Lambeau. Traditionalists would be if they just played at City Field still or City Stadium and gave half the money to the high school.

Packers are a viable business. But they're not viable enough when compared to the other 31.

So we don't look at the Packers and say. Good for you. We're looking at the Packers and saying. Mmm, you don't belong in this club. And it's you know I show Mike Florio and it's like yeah I can complain about that but Don't worry about what Florio has to say.

Florio's got a big platform. There's other people like him. He's very connected.

Sometimes he's just saying what other people are. Or maybe what he's hearing. Maybe Floreo doesn't give a shit, but maybe Florio's hearing these owners and otherwise talk about: hey, the Packers need private equity.

So then he's going to be the one to bring it up. He's not just bringing it up for shits and giggles. He's not just bringing it up so that Wisconsin podcasts and radio stations play a clip of his podcast. He's bringing it up because it's out there and it's real, and I don't like it. And I'm worried.

Okay. And that Worried in the near future, but long term, I yeah. I don't like the way the river's flowing, folks. All right, some other notes from the shareholders meeting. I was forwarded the video of people chanting Bears Still Suck.

I wholeheartedly disapprove of that. The Bears were not there. Out of sight, out of mind. Policy had a reminder that he extended the contracts of Goudekins and LaFleur. He admitted the Packers weren't very happy with the way the season ended.

and emphasize that the franchise's number one goal is to win football games. Is it? I don't think it is. I think their number one goal might be based off of stuff Florio said, they're just trying to survive. Nine and eight and one is profitable.

Five and twelve is not profitable. 12 and 5 is profitable, but are you risking The nine, eight, and one. This is what I talk about, the brewers. The Brewers are going to win 95 games until the end of time. And if they go trade for Tarek Skubel or somebody else.

Yes, that might give them 105 wins in a World Series appearance. but it's also going to immediately Damage future 95 win seasons.

So yeah, you're going to win 72 games one year. But you can't have that. You'd rather have 95 across the board. Than go all in and risk a lower season because you can't afford any lower seasons. That's at least the way that they are operating.

That's the way they're operating. I would like them to go in, all in. I don't think there's going to be baseball next year. Please go all in. And I still think the big problem for me is.

When I went to the shareholders meeting, that was a summer, six years of no Super Bowl. They had just lost to the NFC. I think they lost at Super Bowl to Atlanta. Or the NFC championship in 16. Because if it would have been the 17.

meeting.

So they're already at the point Where the Packers go to the playoffs, go to an NFC championship game, lose. This was after Seattle. This was after Atlanta. This was after the 11 loss to the Giants. But then, as soon as you get to the shareholders' meeting, it was exciting again.

And so I personally needed that because I was already then nine years ago at a point where. I don't feel the excitement. that I want to feel for an upcoming Green Bay Packers season. And this has nothing to do with LaFleur. I mean, it does.

I don't think they're going to win with him. You know that. But when you're constantly this way, it's hard to get excited. Even though so Excitement level. What's your excitement level?

For the Packers, it's very low. Like, I'm excited for the NFL, and of course, I'm excited to watch Packer football. But when does the season actually start? When does it feel new? Because I'm going to expect them to win a bunch of games.

And I'll expect them to lose some games they shun. And I'll expect him to go to the seventh seed. And I'll expect them to lose in the playoffs. If they're like 10 and 2. or nine and three, and Parsons comes back earlier than we think.

and they have a real shot, then it starts to feel different. The excitement level is It's not so much, are you going to compete? It's just how difference is going to be. The Brewers The brewers are very exciting. The brewers are very exciting.

But because of how good they were last year. Having the best record in the league for most of the season. And right now they're there as well. With the Dodgers. There was more excitement around this team last year at this time than there is this year at this time.

Because it was more this is This isn't new, we just did this. As good as it is, we just did this. We still feel like the ceiling is the NLCS.

So they would almost have to take a 1-0 lead in the NLCS for this season to feel new. Because right now it just feels like last year. Or trading for Scoobel. That would make things feel new. Very, very soon.

Uh more excited for Bucks or Packers?

So I think the Packers are going to go farther than the Bucs. But my excitement level for the Bucs is at a place it hasn't been. Since they won the championship, because it's going to be new. And it's going to be different. And it's going to be exciting.

If push comes to shove. And the Packers are playing on a Monday night. And so are the Bucs in November, let's say. I will be watching the Packers. But I am more excited to start watching the Bucs season and see how they look.

Then I am Doing the first three-month dance with Green Bay again.

So, like, I'm kind of looking more forward. To a Bucks game. At this point, and training camp starts on Wednesday, it starts tomorrow. We'll start to see images. Beat reporters are going to tweet out every play.

It's going to be annoying. Clearly, there's a market for it. Maybe that'll be the new shtick. Maybe I'll copy one of those guys. Shout out to Bruce.

Like you guys truly keep it going. You guys truly keep it going.

So I appreciate that. Very, very much. I do have to spruce this up because I got to get the soccer down. But what do I want up? I got um I got other things I could put up.

I got Sports Illustrated magazines I wanted to put up. I don't know. Maybe I just throw up a Winkler vs. Flag once that gets here. I don't know.

Um So, yeah, I'll get into it, and then preseason will start, and then. You'll get into it. I mean, we'll get into it. We'll get into it. But it still feels like It's more the same.

Any more about the Bucks cable network? Do you not live in Milwaukee? Obviously, if you live in Milwaukee. It's going to be on my 24, all the Bucks games. And if you live in Green Bay or La Crosse or Madison.

One of those other stations. Will end up being a part of this network from what I understand. WMLW last year showed some games, right? And those games, even Fox 6, I think, shows some games for Brewers. But aren't they distributed around the state?

Like the Packers preseason network. If you're in any of these Wisconsin markets, Channel 4 or channel 26 or channel whatever. J Town. One of the Madison stations, whether it's the CW or the mind network or whatever. You will be they will get that hammered out, and you will be able to watch the Bucs.

So don't fret if it hasn't been announced what one it is yet. They will take care of that.

So it'll be like a part of the My24 network thing. But you will be able to watch the Bucks if you're outside in Milwaukee. They will take care of that.

It would have been nice if they announced it, obviously, so people didn't have to worry. or think about it, but they will get to that some point soon. Yeah. Soccer teaches us lessons we can take with us long after we leave the field. That's why Bank of America and U.S.

Yeah. Raise your hand to help at bfa.com slash soccer at schools. Hear that? That's now Crispier McCrispy Strips meeting creamy Caesar sauce.

Sounds Extra crispy. Caesar sauce at McDonald's for a limited time. Bottom up. All right, got a couple of voicemails that I want to play. This one is from Brick and West Allis.

Voicemails again. 402-915-2278. 402-915-BART. This is from BRICK. Hey Bort, it is Briefing One Thales calling for the first time.

time and let's see forever. Still listening to all your stuff. I love it as always. I saw something today, not sports related, not really related to anything at all. But I saw something there in my drive to work.

Then I just have to mention that pisses me off and I feel like it's a it's a far wingport type. You cannot have established or since or ADST, whatever, on your logo or your business if you haven't been around for less than 10 years. You can't say, oh, this is my pizza. Bricks Pizza 3 established in 2025. No, you're not established.

You just fucking started. Don't establish shit because you're not anything. You're not establishing anything. I don't know why it's pissing me off so much. Just does Uh but I feel like this would be a bar tag that you would be on board with.

I love you, brother. I hope you're doing well. And hopefully, I talk to you soon or see you soon, or whatever. I don't know, man. I'm rambling now.

Love you. Bye. Brick, I love you. I'm fluttering my eyes at you. On the Dan Shaney YouTube stream.

Oh man. Yeah, like families will get married and then they'll do established 20 like Jill and Michael are getting married this summer, and they're going to get a sign that says Donaldson family established 2026. I'm with Brick. Overall, overall. I've I've had the same thought as Brick.

It's not come up to the tip of my tongue where I've needed to. share it to the world, but if I have to pick a side, I'm with Brick. When it's when it's new. Like even Winklerverse established 2022, not long enough. Not long enough.

It's like when people say this is our first annual. Is it? I didn't call the tailgate our first annual. Because I didn't know if we were ever going to do it again. And now we're doing it.

It's our second one, but it's like three years later. By the way, if you still want to sit with us. Get the right field outfield sections in the 100s. We'll all be spread there. And if you're going to the game, if you're like, I might go to the game, but I wasn't able to commit the tickets.

You can still come to the tailgate. Even just don't go to the game, park on Blue Mountain, come hang for a couple hours. We're going to be there when it opens. I'm gonna have raffles. That I'll give away at 12:30.

We're going to do 12:30 for the raffles. And I'm going to be doing a live stream of the tailgate. I don't quite have the Logistics down yet on that. If I'm just going to do 45 minutes live or if I'm going to just Let it roll and then keep coming and talking. I might do that to give people a look at.

What it looks like. Um But I'll see. Robert says, My wife and I have a sign that says until 2031. It's nice having an end in sight. Ben and his wife have a sign that says establish 2020.

But I would content. You didn't buy that, Ben. Did you?

Someone bought that for you? That would be my difference. If someone buys you Family established. I think that's an okay gift. If you go out and buy it yourself.

I think there is a gray area there. And then the other your wife made it.

Well, that's also different. That's real gray. I'll allow it. Um The other thing that bothers me is like under new ownership. I get why you'd want to put under new ownership, like the last owner sucked.

But this is under new ownership? But if a place was so bad that they needed a new owner, just change the name of the place. And if it's if it's If you're putting under new ownership, That means there was a problem with old ownership. If it's like a couple that's sold and then you buy it now, I don't think you need to announce under new ownership because then they're going to be like, well, is this different than the place I used to like?

So I don't like that sign either. Under new ownership. Just change your name. That's how I feel. Brick, very good take.

Good take. I got some potpourri here from David in Buffalo. Hey, Bart, let's try. Going on, this is David from Buffalo. Gotta jump in here and talk a little bit about a couple things in the world of sports.

First, LeBron going to Philly. Um, I think to me this reminds me a lot of when the Lakers over 20 years ago. Brought in Carl Malone and Jerry Bayton, and they thought they were going to have these older guys around. like these younger players, these younger superstars and these younger players that Ultimately, it didn't work. At the end of the day, they were not able to win a championship.

I just feel like to me the Knicks are still the team to beat. I think there's going to be another team in the East that rises up at Philadelphia is going to get everyone's best shot, you know, because people are going to see this team put together. Um and and you know, here's the other thing too with that town. Playing at Philly is not going to be easy. I know LeBron took less money, but if he does not live up to the expectations, They will never, ever let him forget that.

Will not be an easy place for him to play. A shout out to Jackson Poison, his first win on the PGA Tour. He turned pro after the U.S. Open. Great win for him at the 3M Open in Minnesota.

Scotty Shepherd, another really good week. But just out of nukes, he kind of struggled the middle of the tournament there. But this kid, you know, Mark, if we're ever going to break this trend of losing Ryder Cups. especially overseas in Europe. We need new blood, like like a guy like this.

Uh because these guys don't have the scar tissue that all the veteran guys like uh Speed and Amora Cow and a Justin Thomas. And all those different guys have.

So we need a younger guy, maybe a few younger guys to step up and be on those teams in the President's Cup. I know we've had a great record in that. We need to have him on that team in a few weeks in Chicago at Medina. That would be really cool to see. That's all I got for you tonight, man.

I'll talk to you later. How? All right. Thank you, David. For the LeBron and PGA updates.

Hey guys, complicated fella 2248, flat brim. Don't you miss putting your hat in a cup to bend and then the old fish hook in the brim? The old curving the brim, you're a rebel. Over the course of this podcast. If you look at the last four years, You do see an evolution.

During the winter, I wear beanies. And then during the summer I wear hats. And there got to be a time where the hats There was more and more flat brims added to the collection. I don't know which was the hat that started it. It might have been my white Bucks hat that started it.

But I started looking at myself in the mirror, and I started liking myself more as a flat-brim guy. I just started looking at myself and seeing myself more as a flat brim. Guy. And whether it's curved or whether it's flat, whatever interests you. I do have available at my shop, which is available on all my links on all my different social media platforms.

We are going there. Look at these beautiful flat brim hats that you can buy. The snapback. I was even going to jack up the price on these, but no, I can't do it. Again, I can't do it.

25 bucks for a hat? That's pretty good. I could probably cop these for 30. Look, if you're going to buy a Winklerverse hat for 25, If you are going to buy a Winklerververse hat to begin with, I mean, you're paying $40 if you're paying $25, but I'm going to keep these bad boys at $25. The shirts are 15, the mugs are cheap.

I gotta get these pants. I like these pants of the logo. I also need to see what they're printed like.

So I put this shop up before I tried any samples.

So please let me know when you order them what they look like. No. Yeah, I could iron it to make it flatter. But it flat flat brim flat brim uh Flat brimmed to stay. All right, we got the Brewers again in action tonight against the Giants.

I'm seeing Scoobel the same that you are. I don't trust that that's going to happen. I'm seeing more Freddy Peralta talk. They lost 3-0 last night. Honestly, if they're going to do something, doesn't it feel like Freddy Peralta comes back?

Doesn't it feel like that's what happens? Freddie comes back. And they're like, well, you know. Just go try to win the World Series this year, okay? Sports are going to be all robotic.

And corporate in five years. Go win while we're still having fun with this shit. Can we do that, please? Can we do that? Later in the week, I've got a special again.

New first time guest in a couple of days. New first-time guests. I don't think it's an infrastructure week. But it is someone I've never had on the show before. That does Radio.

So that I'm not going to say it until I lock it down. We've got it penciled in for later in the week. But I think you'll like it.

So we'll do that later. Plenty more to come this week. Thanks as always. Just opt on here live randomly. We will get later and more.

More to come as the week goes on. Until then, thank you for stopping into the The Winklerverse. Fidelity Crypto is built on 80 years of investing experience with the same discipline we apply to everything we do.
