Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Aim for three. Yes, sir. Earlier on the show, Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner coming up. And.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapaport, three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth, and now it's Rich Eisen. Hour number two of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. Ian Rapaport is about to join us. Video has just come in from Baltimore Ravens practice. Ares Consulting, one of the best things that we do here.
Yep. Is is we look at video of players coming back from injuries? Certainly, ankles. We're experts at ankles. Remember when Mahomes had that ankle a couple years ago, and we're like, we're looking at him walking up on podiums, coming off of podiums.
We're starting with Trey Lance. Oh, oh yeah, we've been all over this. Yes, we've been all over this.
So there's video of Lamar on the practice field. Oh. Let's see.
Okay, there he is. He took that. Oh well, he was able to get that low snap. Nice throw. I don't know the movement.
Hold on, what are you talking about? Oh, he's testing out. He's tapping things out. That's taps.
Okay, wait a minute. Here comes another snap. Oh, I love this. I am getting a better snap. Oh yeah.
All right, he's looking one way and he's throwing another. Ian is zoomed in on his on his laptop. He's like, "Oh yeah, he's locked in." Let's show that one more time. Let's do. Let's show one more time so Ian can check it out one more time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. See if it jives with the information he's about to give us. Low snap, low snap. Looking okay, okay. Like the little testing.
Got the ball out. Arm looks good. There's no hitch in that giddy up. There's not much giddy up we're seeing. That's what I'm saying.
He's not moving around.
Well, here's the hitch though. Watch this. Watch this. Okay, one way. No, I'm not going there.
I'm going there. Did you look at the photographer to his right? I think he's back.
Okay, I think he was like, "Look at this." Yeah, does this jibe with any information that you may be bringing to the table here? Yeah, I mean that is. Look, he's got two ankles. Whoa, they both look good. Is that breaking news?
Hold on a minute. Is that breaking? Where else is that? That's out there. Has that been reported elsewhere?
No, hit the hit the drum. Is that is that you and Shefter together reporting one one ankle for each? Is that Zolo, Michigan. Adam Schefter and I reporting. I've got the right ankle.
He's got the left. Thanks to combined, they're two. That's what the merger is bringing about. I said too.
Okay. Good to see you, Ian. How are you? Good to see you. I mean, listen.
Yeah, the large and exit ankle has been some cause for discussion for years. For years, though. For years, yes. But this week, he name checked me in a press conference. Right.
Debate the type of ankle injury that he has, and then Bleacher Report was like Lamar calls out reporter, and then I watched him like, yeah, no, he didn't do anything like that. But I guess that's the internet these days. He said that you're just not part of the training staff, which, by the way, I can confirm that you're not. He didn't say I wasn't. No, he asked if I was.
Oh, oh, that's right. He said, oh, is he part of? Oh, he was trying to glean information himself. Got it. Maybe you are.
I don't know. Is what's going on here? By the way, it's it's like an almost an annual Mad Lib. You now you can change the year, every other year, every three years. We're wondering, like, oh, I I remember covering a Browns Ravens game, uh, on on a um.
On a Saturday with Kurt, John Harbaugh comes in. Yeah, we're going to start Snoop this week, but Lamar's coming back next year.
Next week, we think he's come back next week. Then he didn't come back for the rest of the season.
Now that was a contractual situation that we were all wondering. That was that year, but but I don't think it was. Back then, when he didn't start the playoff game against the Bengals, and he didn't, he wasn't even he wasn't even at the game, right? For some half of these games, I don't think so.
Okay, it's interesting. Like I've look, it's interesting and challenging covering Lamar because he doesn't have an agent, and so I feel like a lot of times his side, he doesn't talk to reporters.
Some players with no agents are great sources. He doesn't talk to reporters, so. It's hard to know like what's really going on, but my sense is like when Lamar would get injured with the with when John Harbaugh was there, you know, go up to the podium and it's ah, you know, he's kind of got bumps and bruises, and then it would be like a month, and people would be like, "Why is Lamar not back?" I mean, it seems a couple things. One, he is working this year incredibly hard to come back. He likes to be a hundred percent when he's out there because not just of re-injury, but knowing that like when you're not a hundred percent, you don't look the same and you don't play as well.
And he's someone who has to move around to be effective, and so that is challenging for him. I also probably know that we know less about how a player is recovering from an injury about Lamar than anyone else. Because there's no dialogue ever, so it has led to a lot of guessing, and has led to basically the game you were talking about. That said, I do expect him back against the Buffalo Bills this week.
Well, and the conversation that's definitely more tangible rather than the speculation that I just dabbled in right there. Out of Baltimore is Jesse Minter saying he needs more. Leadership, veteran leadership on the field in crunch time. You, you have anything, any insight on what he's referring to there? Do you think, Ian?
Yeah.
So I was interested by that too, and I think for a new, you know. New coaches take over, and you're sort of like, all right, like this guy's going to coach, and the team's going to be better at X's and O's or whatever it is. But so much of what a coaching staff does is sort of galvanize the players, and then it's on the players themselves to be the ones who can lead. It's like, you know, I remember Nick Saban when I covered him at Alabama would always say, like. The best teams players lead themselves, right?
Like if the coach has to be the guy to say work harder, that's a bad team. And I think that's where you know so many of those great Ravens defenses, like yes, there was a defensive coordinator, but like if a guy was not doing what he should do, like Ray Lewis steps in and goes, "This is not right." In much more colorful language, I think that's sort of what Jesse Minter is looking for: is like for the players to step in and be like. We gave up thirty five points in.
However, what was it? Just was it just the half? I'm sure whatever it was, thirteen nothing at the half. Thirty five, thirteen lost final. Yeah, like this is not okay.
Let's fix this. We're going to show this. We're going to do this right now. Like I think they need to see that. And sometimes it takes getting kicked in the mouth a little bit to do that.
But like that's what he's looking for.
Someone in the moment. To stop it and reverse it, Ian Rappaport here on the Rich Eisen show. Walk me through the Indianapolis Colts strategy over the last twenty-four to forty-eight, Ian.
So their plan was to go play the Minnesota Vikings and then you know take that game and then probably the next couple games to assess where they are. Like, do we have a chance to win the division or do we need to be selling and It was a rough game. Daniel Jones played poorly. Made the decision. Let's start opening the door.
So the actual first trade conversations were DeForest Buckner with the Forty Nineers. There were a couple interested teams, but the Forty Nineers I think made the most sense. And pretty clear to me when Buckner learned the Forty Nineers were interested, it was like. Send me there. Yeah, right.
Then it was a matter of working out a deal. One side wanted a three, another side wanted a five. It got to a four. Like that's a pretty good price, but not enough to kill the Niners. And like he's really good.
He's on an expiring contract. My guess is he probably ends up signing back there, as he should. And then, but anyway, that didn't get done until yesterday afternoon. But meanwhile, teams started calling on Quint Nelson. And if you're calling on a All Pro guard, like let's say you're Seattle and you're playing Monday night, right?
Monday night, okay.
So yesterday was Tuesday. Today is Wednesday. Yes.
So yesterday was Tuesday. Today is Wednesday. So if he do the trade yesterday, he flies there today. He could be practicing Thursday. And then he's playing in the game, so that's sort of the urgency.
Like, if you are Seattle and you are like, we're willing to offer this, we want to have him as soon as possible. I think that's why those trades got done yesterday because the teams that are acquiring them are like, we don't want to do this next week. We want him now, so let's complete the trade and do it. But obviously, that opens the door to a lot more discussions surrounding the Colts.
Well, you said there weren't a lot of teams in on Buckner. What about Quentin Nelson? What about teams? A lot of teams.
So my sense was, so you got the the Packers were interested. I know Seattle was interested. Obviously, hold on, I'm trying to think off the top of my brain. Anyway, there there were several. I my brain is failing me.
Was Philly interested? Because that's an interesting concept about where they where. Howie's mindset is right now. The problem with Philly is that they call in every trade.
So, like, were they interested? Probably, they were not. I mean, there's a lot more teams than that originally called, but like. To do that trade, you'd probably have to trade Lynn and Dickerson. He played the other night and played pretty good.
So, like, then do you really want to trade Lynn and Dickerson if he's going to play a lot better? Not if you're trying to win, or you know.
So, it's like I'm still trying to figure out the Eagles, but you know, Quinn Nelson going for a three and a five is a lot. Like, I know people were saying like, oh, he should have gone for more. Like, that's a lot for a midseason trade. That's about as good as it gets.
So, where I know you just said you are trying to figure out Philly. To me, that's the most interesting trade deadline team because of how loaded they are when not ravaged, and how you know the level of expectation. And how the championship quality, how he is, and obviously Jeffrey Lurie is, and where they sit with Hertz for the future, and where they sit on so many fronts. Like, do you buy? Do you sell?
Do you do nothing? Like, they're fascinating to me over the next two games that that we have before the trade deadline, Ian.
Well, I would if I had to guess, and I don't like to guess. But this is sort of an educated guess. Yes, sir. I could see both. Like I could see if the Eagles trade for a player that will help them in the future.
Like basically what what the Bears did with Montez Sweat. A couple Bears did with Montez Sweat. The Seahawks did with Leonard Williams. Right. Right.
Like trade for a guy who you might want to get in free agency, and then you just have him, and then you can you know get research and and information to do a deal later. Like. If they have, if Hallie has a chance to acquire a good young player, I could see him doing it. I also could see him trading some pieces. Like there are some, you know, like Reek Woolen would be a good example.
Like on a one-year contract, everyone needs corner help. He's a good player. Like that's one that would make sense to me. Like guys like that, I could see them trading.
Okay, then who who else do you think could be available between now and? A couple Tuesdays, Ian.
So some of the names I'm thinking about, Khalil Mack is one. I mean, the Chargers have, well, they haven't won any games. They haven't signaled a willingness to sell like the Colts have yet. I'll be curious if they do. I don't think they want to, but at some point, it's like we got to.
Make some decisions here.
So I know the Bears are interested in Khalil Mack. Like that one makes sense to me. Still playing at really high level. That would be a cool reunion, kind of like DeForest Buckner.
So I think that's one to keep an eye on. I'd say Brian Thomas Jr. is another interesting one. I sense the Jaguars really want to trade him, but his playing time has gone down a little bit, and teams are interested because teams still think he's really good.
So like. I think that's one I'll be I'll be looking at looking at the board, the board. Let's see the board. What? Josh Down said I want out.
Do you think he'll be obliged, Ian? Yeah, I mean, Josh. Those trade talks are already going on. Got it. So, like, they were going on yesterday.
I actually thought he might be traded yesterday. Yeah, I would say certainly a possibility that Josh Downs gets traded. You know, John and the Taylor to me is interesting, obviously as well, because I know the interest is real. Like my guess is it's better than the three that the Quentin. Yeah, I'd imagine certainly if if somebody in the conference wants him, you know, or division even.
I mean, I don't. Chris Ballard never dealt within the conference. You know, my I think Ed Dodds might, but like it's going to be more expensive. Yeah, you know, but you know, it's it's rare you get those kinds of players at the deadline. Like we're sort of conditioned, like we saw the sauce and Quentin Williams last year.
Like that never happens. Never happens.
So I just here is what I don't know. Carly Birthday Gordon loves Jonathan Taylor. Views him as part of the rebuild. That is a fact. It doesn't mean he can't get traded.
Just means it's going to be expensive because it has to be worth it. And like you look at the teams around the NFL, the teams that have taken it down to the studs, it is rough. Like it is like you know you watch the Jets. Like Jets are building the right way. I'm optimistic for the Jets' future.
It has been rough to go through it.
So that would be what the Colts would have to go through. And you know, and obviously the Jets can just sit back and watch the Colts rip it down to the studs, and that's that could wind up being a better draft choice than what they have, right? My brother's a Jets fan. He texts me every day. Every time the Colts make a trade, he just texts me more.
Yeah, sorry. What the the Kylo Ren gif, the Adam Driver gif from from Star Wars. Yeah, not not a bad not a bad move by your bro there. You know, and and that that is a fascinating aspect of. Of the of the trade deadline and everything else that that is going on right now, Ian Rappaport here on the Rich Eisen show.
What's Brett Veach is thinking, right? I mean, based on what we just saw, a team that takes Kenneth Walker out. Good luck to anybody else that can replicate what Seattle did. But you saw some a wide receiver need there. What do you think?
You think the the Chiefs do pull a trigger on that over the next couple weeks? I think they're going to explore every receiver available, and there are some. You know, Downs we've talked about. Brian Thomas would make sense. Calvin Ridley from His old lieutenant Mike Burganzi in Nashville would be another one.
Like there are receivers available. The fit is going to be interesting because you know you do have Rasheed Rice coming back eventually. You have Tyquan Thornton coming back maybe for a playoff push, so you need a receiver. But like, what kind of receiver do they get is going to be interesting. But yeah, I would imagine before the end of this whole thing, we do see the Chiefs trade for a receiver.
And what about the Rams? You know, they're they're they're without. You know they're without Devonte Adams. They're you know obviously a team that parts with draft choices if they feel the need, or they're just going to stay the course with their 19 tight ends and their top running back room and get Miles Garrett back. I imagine on the practice field this week, right?
Like, what do what do you think about?
Okay, today.
So does that mean he plays this week against the Chargers, Ian? What do you that? That I don't know.
Okay, they've been really cautious, so I don't know. But but I will say this. You know, you always hear the Rams kind of like the Eagles. You always hear the Rams in every trade. I haven't heard the Rams a lot in in these trade conversations.
It doesn't mean it's not happening. It's just I haven't really heard them as active as maybe some, and maybe because they traded so much for Miles Garrett. Like the Rams have been willing to trade first rounders, no doubt about it. They haven't been as willing to trade mid rounders because, like. Those guys turn into pro bowlers for them, so I don't.
I don't know that the Rams will be that active. I really don't.
Okay, and is Mike around the corner for Green Bay? Mike is going to be practicing. You know. Probably next week.
Okay, there we go. I was going to say today, but it's not today.
So I think probably next week, because they play tomorrow, and then it's like you know, again, they've been so cautious. I don't want to say he's playing next week. You know, he could play Thanksgiving, but also like the Packers are good. They got Josh Jacobs back. They're going to be in it till the end.
Like. I don't think anything's worth risking injury at all.
So, like, play him whenever, but you'll have a fresh, awesome Micah Parsons for December and January, and then we'll see what else. All right, we finished this conversation with two things you may not know about Ian Rappaport.
Okay. First thing, just confirming again. You're not part of the Ravens training staff. Hold on a second here. Go for it.
I never confirmed that a redeltoe medial sprain. If you're, I thought it was a high ankle sprain.
So who said that? Robert Port said it wasn't a high ankle sprain. And Robert Port said he part of the training staff.
So we can't go off Ian Robert Port. You know he just reporting.
Somebody probably told him that too, though.
So can't blame him. Can't blame him. He's so nice, Lamar. I mean, seriously, he's the best. I know he's just like a great guy.
Okay, so one thing as well, you may not know about Ian Rappaport as well. This man's an author. Where the cameras can't go. Right. Look at that.
A year inside the NFL with the ultimate football insider. Yeah, you are. Oh, yeah. I don't see senior or junior in that title. Ian Rapaport, all access pass coming August twenty twenty seven.
Where all books are sold. Everybody, congrats, Muffetub. Oh, thank you, Rich. I'm so excited. It's still being written, so like I have the book title, I have the book cover, but like.
It's fake pages inside because season. Seriously, I don't even. I actually. That's not the way you're selling a book. Yeah, no, no, but hasn't been written yet because the season's going on.
Okay, we are so this season.
So this season, oh, this season, oh, it's ongoing. Oh, nice.
Well, do you you want some help, TJ? Do you have you have yeah you have some information for for Ian? Yeah, go for it. Script, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You got it.
He's got the. Just hold on. I can finish write the book right now. There it is. I don't like the flexes.
They're into script people. Write the book, but as I go, TJ Jefferson can ghost write this thing right. Much much like my book, the pages are fake. Ladies and gentlemen.
Well done, well done. Forward by Lamar Jackson. He's not on the training staff since you guys are tight. You guys are tight. You're on a first name basis.

That's Ian Rappaport for ESPN and NFL Network together, right here on the Rich Eisen Show. Boom.
Okay. So that's the latest, right there. You doke. Calvin Ridley would be an interesting choice, right? With the name that we haven't heard in a little bit, you would want to take a flyer on him.
Is he toast? He can't be toast just because he's not in your fantasy lineup anymore. See on anyone's team, I don't. You can go get him right now. By the way, he would be the hottest waiver wire pickup if the Chiefs snag him.
Oh my! In two seconds, actually, let me just grab him ahead of time. Y'all, you're on him right now. Let me see. By the way, I was that way for Elijah Mitchell in every league I can get.
He's starting for the Eagles on Sunday. You know it. I don't know it, but the guy who just left might. What's up, Elizabeth? Elizabeth, coming to join you, honey? You there, Elizabeth? Oh my goodness! It's a dark.
It's line three. Line three. All right, back on hold. All right, put it back on hold, everybody. William in New Jersey, you are holding on, Mikey.
Let's line one. What's up, William? Rich, how you guys doing? How's everybody in the show? How are you?
What exit? Good. I just want to talk about the Chiefs a little bit. I'm a little bit worked up about the Tucker news that just came out, but I'm not going to focus on that. I know Brockman's upset about them talking about comparisons to the Patriots dynasty, and I get they got K nine this past off season, but I think they've done a real disservice to Mahomes.
Not surrounding him with enough talent, especially at the tackle position. I know everybody's on wide receiver and downs, and maybe Garrett Wilson, but I actually think they'd be better off going and getting a tackle, a guy like Jordan Mylota that can really shut the back end. I mean, he's had eleven left tackles play for him since twenty twenty one since Fisher left. I can't imagine how Roseman's talking about the right things here, William. First of all, you you you just blew right past Mike Del Tufo's question about what exit you're.
William, what exit are you from? Oh, sorry, I was so worked up from Jersey. Believe it or not. No, no, got it.
So, where we're in New Jersey? What exit are you from in New Jersey? Pompton Plains, if you know where that is, it's right by Wayne.
Okay, Mike's probably. All right, so you're in Northern New Jersey, is what? Right near me. Yeah.
So, if you're in correct, baby.
Okay, so if you're in Southern New Jersey, you would know Howie Roseman would trade Jordan Mailata for. You know all the ones in the world, but that's about it. I can't imagine he would do something like that. The Chiefs would clearly love to have a player to have Mahomes's back, and you're not sitting there worried about his the the tackles back because his feet are up on a on a table, and then he gets ejected from a team meeting. Apparently, whatever happened with Josh Simmons in Kansas City, that situation is mom with you.
I hear you. The media has been talking about it, but. You want to talk about the you know Mahomes and dynastic and and the Patriots? How many times, Chris, were you saying? All Tom Brady needs is a number one wide receiver.
A receiver, and then he got one, and he threw for fifty touchdowns. Right, and Randy Moss set a record himself. Yada yada yada. He still was able to win, you know. But yeah, and then they didn't win the championship.
So I'm curious to see what the Chiefs are going to do at receiver, William. That that is for sure. And I appreciate the call right there in Wayne, New Jersey. I think they're going to get one. They have to get one.
Although you heard Kurt say Josh Downs is not a mix, yeah, doesn't like the fit, doesn't like the fit, and you know who has knows about a fit. It's Andy Reid and Veatch, but you got to figure. You know they're going to get someone. Tyquan Thornton. The number of people are like he'll be back at the end of the season.
I don't know about that one. That that that that injury looked sideways, brutal, yeah, brutal. But Rasheed Rice coming back should change a lot. And Xavier Worthy's got to step it up. It's just that simple.
Good friend of the program. He's been on here before. I I root for him, but he's got to come up with some game changing plays here. And certainly, if he's being hit in the hands on a night where they can't move the football, he's got to catch it. Where are the Rams in my power rankings?
It's a weekly question. Oh baby, here we go. Week eight power rankings brought to you by Sofi. Hit it. Power rankings.
Ah, the weekly heckling from my friends across the aisles here as I give you my power. I don't really heckle. Yes, you do. Not really. You absolutely do.
Certainly. Since oh, where you going to put the Rams? No, who says that more? You do, or your guy across the everyone the comments. My youngest son.
Yeah, the text threads were on. I only worry about one team being on this. I don't care about it's funny in our in the Rich Eisen Show basketball fantasy league that we have. My son Cooper, who calls me a passionate Rams fan all the time, you know the name of his fantasy basketball team is passionate Bams fan because he's got Audubon on his team.
So that was a next level troll job by my son about football in the basketball league we're in together. Fine. All right, he does know you feed him. Number ten on my power rankings list. This team's back on the list with a win in the Pacific Time Zone.
Yeah, big win on the road. Big win on the road for the Denver Broncos. Oh, they're back on the list.
Well done. Their offense looked as good as I've seen it, which isn't that great, but. They're not going to get Bo Nix running like Forrest Gump. Run, you know. At one point, I thought like he was going to keep running.
He was going to he was going to run out the tunnel like Forrest. You know, they're all pointing run that way, and oh, they're going to run.
So not going to get that, but they are four quarters away from being in first place after all of this. All they got to do is hold serve at home against Kansas City. Tall order. Yep. Defensively, they're they're they're they're one of the best groups.
Alex Singleton, man, nineteen tackles last. Oh, I just root for that guy. He was at my run this year. He he showed up in Memphis on the campus of Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
So obviously, I've got a soft spot for him. His story of finding out he's got cancer. He comes back. He's balling out.
Okay, so here we go for the Broncos, five and two. Let's see what happens this week. Number nine back on the list, and I have a feeling I'm not taking them off the list for a long time, if not for the rest of the season. The Bengals are back, guys. Bengals, yeah.
The Bengals are back. Joe Burrow, Joseph P. Burrow. I don't know what his middle name. Offensive player of the week.
Oh, baby.
Okay, we see you. We see it down thirteen nothing at halftime to Baltimore in Baltimore to score thirty five unanswered and leave the Ravens head coach Jesse Minter saying, "I'm wondering where my leadership is on the sidelines." You know, let's get Lamar back in here. We'll see. But the Bengals defensively, if I'm them, I'm adding a piece on that side of the football for the stretch run. Go get Buddha Baker.
Keep going. Keep going. Number eight can't knock them off the list. Not going to move them up either. They were on a bye week.
I still think the Jaguars are a top ten team in this league. They stay like before. Man, are they fans of J.J. McCarthy or what? On their bye week, sitting back there, watching the Texans.
Lose that football game? Yeah, that was stunting their momentum. Yeah, they're big winners for having not played four and two, sitting back. Colts are breaking up. Titans are, you know, trying to just string quarters together, and they're sitting there four and two.
And the Texans fall to two and five. They're feeling good. You want to call this division a wrap? I I can't just because it's the NFL, but it feels that way.
Okay. Number seven down two spots. Your Patriots not taking them off the list. That's fair. I don't think losing on the road in Chicago against this team, the way that Caleb's throwing and playing, and the defense is balling out, can't sit here and say they're off the list just by losing.
They're four and three. They are not the highest ranked four and three team on my list, but they're deserving to be on it. They're seventh down four spots. I'm downgrading the Chiefs to here. For various reasons, and the reason why is what happens when Kenneth Walker gets taken out of the mix.
I think they lose to the teams that's in front of them on this list. It's that simple.
So can the other teams that are above them on this list take out Kenneth Walker? And in that respect, I think the Minnesota Vikings can. And I'll put the Vikings at five. I am moving them down one spot because I need to see Kyler Murray start throwing the football with success down the field. Chunk playing it here.
I need eighteen back in the mix. Like eighteen can be back in the mix. I need to see Justin Jefferson balling out because the quarterback's getting him the football. I'm not sitting here and saying Justin Jefferson isn't one of the best in the league anymore. Of course he is.
We just got to see it. Checkdowns to Hawkinson. Checkdowns here. Checkdown there. Let's go.
Let's chunk play it. Let's see it. I don't know. I'm so angry. Here, chunk.
I'm just trying to voice what Vikings fans. How many Vikings fans do we have calling into the show or message boarding us, flipping out? Flipping out, thinking that this is just a mirage. I had an hour long phone call with a Vikings fan last Wednesday, and he's still not convinced. One hour, there you go, Josh Jamal.
Nice, Mark Portwood. Number four on the list. The Bears are up two spots. Bears. Ooh, I think the Bears against the Chiefs right now would be a hell of a game.
I don't think hell of a game. Chiefs could win it. Yeah.
But the way the Bears are playing right now, they look great with 18. This 18, second best 18 in the league behind JJ McCarthy. Stop it! What is this thing on? Wow!
All right, stop it. Number three, back on the list. I don't recall in the years that I've done this taking a team that was off the list and putting them into my top three. Oh, you're really doing that? I am the Seahawks, bud.
The Seahawks just looked like the old school Seahawks, and not only that. Number eleven, Jackson Smith and Jigba can win Offensive Player of the Year again easily. And one of the you know how sometimes you got these two quarterbacks going against each other that can be MVP quarterbacks, and one defense takes care of that conversation. If Kenneth Walker the third and Jackson Smith and Jigba are offensive player of the year sort of dormy candidates, right? What about one guy who scored a touchdown in a game and balled out for 150 yards receiving, and the other guy disappeared, erased?
That's one thing for down the road. But I'm also taking in the fact they just added Quentin Nelson. They got better. I got to factor it in. They're three on the list.
Yeah, last player to win back to back OPoys. Marshall Faulk did it three years in a row, ninety nine to o one. Yeah, he did. He was a bad. Yeah, he did.
But JSN could do it this year. I agree. And the defense. Good lord. Number two, I'm putting the Niners above them because they beat the Seahawks.
They did. And they're down only one spot. Can't win them all. They haven't won in Atlanta since Mouch and To took care of them in in the nineties. That's how long it's been.
So, um, let's get them healthy after the buy and see what happens. But there's still two on the list and up two spots. They're on a bye week and they got up two spots and they're number one. Buffalo Bills. I'm circling the wagons.
Man, this game against the Ravens in their new stadium—can't wait for that one. That's Ian Eagle and Ross Tucker, who, by the way, I think is doing a great job. I'm really enjoying him because Nance and and JJ a lot are calling Chiefs Broncos for much of the nation this upcoming weekend.
So that's my power rankings. Brought to you by SoFi. Get your money right. Put the list up there, gents. Let's see it.
There it is: Packers, Ravens, Texans out. I can't keep the Packers in there after. I don't even have the Lions in. Yeah, I might have had the Lions. For who?
Denver. I mean, Lions Broncos would be a fascinating game. My only beef. That would be wherever. Pardon me, just real quick.
That that that would be wherever the game is played. I would think.
Sorry, yeah, I'm saying I don't give you much. You try to say a heckle, you I don't. You do, I really don't. It's okay, but two things: one, Gotti's not on here, that's mistaken. Two, you got a six and O team.
They probably should be number one. No, they shouldn't. I mean, look, TJ Jefferson six up, six down, man. TJ Jefferson. I know the Vikings beat the Bears in week.
It was week two, and Caleb didn't finish the game. A win is a win.
Okay. Vikings versus the Seahawks, right now. Who you taking? That's not the point. Yes, it is.
Vikings versus the Niners. Who you taking? We're going to see that in a few weeks in Mexico City. Who you taking again? That's in the future.
Vikings versus the Bills. Who you taking? Talk about. Come on now, come on. And Vikings versus the Chiefs at ten forty one.
The Vikings could have a. They have a defense. We'll see if Denver can that can do to the Chiefs what we saw Seattle do potentially, right? Possibly. Come on now!
I said that's just the only little nitpicky. I don't. I don't care what the records are here. I'm at the point of a season where the I'm throwing records out. Steelers Browns play this week.
The winner going to finally get on the. I know. I I don't have them on there. I still. I think the Bengals.
You know. I've talked. I said the Bengals win this division. I got some grief from some dear friends in Baltimore over that.
Well, they're playing better. Your friends give you a lot of grief. I know that's a little ridiculous. But he's got high. He's got a point.
Heavy, heavy lies the crown. Yeah, since Mister to be or not to be over there. Just saying, Rich. Also, playoffs start today. The Seahawks are not in it.
All the world's a stage. I got the. I hear you. The playoffs. I understand that, but do the playoffs start today?
Playoffs. Last I checked, they don't. Power rankings. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Do you not listen to the drop?
Yeah, we get it. I'm actually I'm the private pile of power rankings. I'm actually weirdly shocked the Giants aren't on this list. I'm like hiding a jelly donut in my locker. Whoa!
Oh, you know that's going to lead to. Oh, what a scene that is in Full Metal Jacket. Yeah, we don't. Are you royalty? Holy!
What? What? I can't even say what Arley Army said. What the heck? And he holds up the jelly donut like with his thumb and forefinger.
Okay. What is your major mal? What is your nuts? Private pop, private Joker. All right, let's take a break.
When we come back, World Series talk, baseball, baseball. What a game! It's been awesome. It's been great. Check engine, ABS, or maintenance light on.

Momentum can flip at any second, and pitch by pitch, you are genius one second, and then you are a dunce the next, and you are second guess the next. And it's kind of wild that it's Pat Murphy's moment in the barrel a little bit here. This guy has pushed every button right, and the sense of awesomeness about the Brewers.
Has been off the charts, right? We're big Springsteen guys here, so the fact that he loves Springsteen, he's got a tattoo of Springsteen lyrics on him, and Springsteen called him up, wished him luck, and um, and and he's just a regular guy getting his shot, and now he's right there, and he's pushed every possible button. Guys that you basically never heard of, castoffs from the Red Sox, hitting home runs like it's nonstop. Yeah, David Hamilton, man, it's crazy. What a beast he's been.
Am I boy Cooper at home? He's just here comes Cooper Pratt, fourth hits, his fourth hit of the night. Rookie home run puts the Brewers in position to win the World Series in Tampa to sweep after they swept the Dodgers. They're right on the doorstep of going eleven and one and bringing this trophy back to Milwaukee because they're on a mission from Bob Yucher. True.
You know what I mean? And everybody is on the edge of their seat, and the Ray's flip the script instantly in in an instant. Yeah.
In the same way that the Brewers just with a barrage of hit after hit after hit after hit in their eight run inning in Game Three, that's the way the Rays saved their season.
Now, you know, Bowers normally would dig this one out, right? Ortiz threw this one low. Yeah, it was a long, all the way across the got it. Yeah, it opened up. Kemmler's not running hard.
Banged up. It opened the floodgates, and then the the rays rammed through it. And everybody's wondering to Pat Murphy, like, you got the Miz in the bullpen. We've seen the Dodgers close games out. That one time you got Clayton Kershaw.
All right. Remember, they brought him in. You've seen Madison Bumgarner end World Series. Yeah, Chris Sale's done it.
Okay, and you got the Miz in the bullpen. Interesting. That didn't even cross my mind. Oh, that's what everyone's talking about today. He was asked about it last night.
And the bottom line is, I'm not burning my Game Five starter to wrap up Game Four when we're up three zero. You can kind of see both sides of it. Makes sense. Not burning his Game Five. He could.
Not gonna burn him, and now everyone's like Pat. Like, if this thing goes the other direction, what happens now? But now Ashby, who pitched multiple innings, probably can't pitch tonight. Kind of burn your pen a little bit. You bring in Miz to throw one hundred five nine times, and you might have a trophy.
You are still, and you are, and you are, and you are wiping champagne out of your eyes. And the guy who's pushed every possible button.
Now people are like, "Why didn't you push that button?" Oh man, baseball man, unbelievable! Oh man, baseball. That game was great. Everything you'd want. Brewers doing Brewer things, and then the Rays are like, "Not dead yet." The Miz tonight can erase every syllable I just said.
Totally. And. And then, if it happens, then you have Misurawski and the rest of the Brewers with the Commissioner's Trophy right at midfield for the Packers Panthers Thursday night game, and the place is going nuts. And if you're the Panthers, you're like, "Damn it." That's like that's like I felt watching Cube come out at center field in Game Two of that World Series. I'm like, damn it, yeah, that was it.
Damn it, kind of. It's all she wrote. And then it's like the party's on in Wisconsin, but. This one's for you, Christopher. I saved this one last night.
I can't believe I'm actually reading it out. Uh oh! But I'll read it. Yeah, it's okay. No, it's okay.
No, it's okay. I'll I'll do it here. It's a long time ago, man. You know, I'll do it here. Two years.
The Red Sox were down three zero to a hundred win team at home for Game Four after giving up ten or more runs in Game Three. Game Four went to extra innings and they scored two runs to win the game in the twelfth. And yeah, they won in the twelfth. Yeah.
That's exactly what has happened.
Well, that would mean tonight has to go fourteen.
Okay, someone's going to hit a walk. I don't. I don't mean to put that evil on the on the Brewers, Ricky Bobby. But let's go. You know, it's it's it's it's been a great World Series.
It has been great. Been a great playoffs. Tight games. Tight games. Great crowds.
Brewers fans have been all over this stadium. Took over, I know. Like Knicks fans in Philadelphia. What? Thanks for listening to the Rich Eisen Show podcast.
