The marriage supper of the Lamb is a celebration of eternal union with Christ, where believers will share in the joy and glory of a beautiful wedding feast. This heavenly celebration is a time of praise and worship, where the bridegroom, Jesus, is the central figure. The righteous acts of the saints will be the external garment of the bride, and believers are called to be ready and robed in white linen, free from blame and blemishes.

Welcome to PowerPoint with Jack Graham. We are invited. to the feast. to the festival. to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

So respond. to the invitation. RSVP is required. On today's PowerPoint, Dr. Graham brings a message about the greatest party you'll ever attend.

Now here's Dr. Graham with his message. Supper time. I want to invite you to turn with me in your Bibles to Revelation 19. And what we see in this fantastic chapter of Scripture.

is what is known as the marriage supper of the Lamb. We're told of a wedding and of a wedding feast. Of course, a wedding is a happy occasion. in life. And as this wedding is described and the supper that follows this fantastic occasion, we are encouraged to prepare for our own time at his table.

When we will share with him This supper. with our Savior. Revelation 19, beginning at verse 6. And as I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of mighty thundering, saying, Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice and give him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come.

And his wife has made herself ready. And to her, it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. And then he said to me, write. Blessed are those who are called. to the marriage supper.

of the lamb. And he said to me, These are the true sayings. of God. As we're thinking about tomorrow and our future with him. Let me remind you.

to respond to the invitation. It's supper time. Respond. to the invitation. The scripture here tells us that we are called.

We are invited. to the feast. to the festival. to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

How are we called? We are called as his bride, described here as his wife. This is not new in scripture. In fact, Isaiah the prophet said in Isaiah chapter 54, your maker is your husband. The Lord of hosts is your name.

The Apostle Paul spoke of this unique relationship between Christ and his church. in describing The marriage union between a man and a woman. That same kind of union exists spiritually between Christ and his church. Therefore, should a man love his wife? As Christ loved the church.

and gave himself For it. The marriage supper of the Lamb speaks of our eternal union with Christ. This relationship that we have with Christ, in which we are together. forever. We are called to to celebrate this great Experience.

I love this because when we are called to follow Christ, it is not a call to a funeral. But it is a call. to a feast. It is a call to share in the excitement. and the glory of a beautiful wedding feast.

Now, of course, the Jewish wedding in the time of Christ was far different than the nuptials of our day. I know weddings in our day are very important, but in that day, it wasn't just a few hours or even a few days, but it could be weeks and months. And actually, the process took place in three stages. There was, first of all, A negotiation between the parents of the bride and the groom. and thus the betrothal.

A young man and a young woman were betrothed. to one another. And this betrothal was binding, far more binding than an engagement in our own culture. In fact, the only way to break the betrothal was to seek a divorce because of unfaithfulness. That is why when Mary was found with child of the Spirit of God, Joseph, her espoused or betrothed husband, sought to put her away quietly, not wanting to embarrass her or to shame her in any way until he himself discovered that she was bearing the Messiah into the world.

But that was the binding, the betrothal of the marriage, and it was extremely important. And then there came a time of celebration. As the wedding day drew near, The groom and his friends and the families would celebrate and they would share in the moment until the bridegroom would go get his bride at her house and take her to the wedding. And there they were married and the ceremony took place and then the feasting would begin. And finally after the presentation and the celebration came the consummation privately of the marriage.

And so you see, what Christ has called us to experience is a great wedding. in eternity. And a great banquet in his presence. We are united forever with him. And when you come to faith in Jesus Christ, it is a joyous experience of knowing him.

That's why we say so often. That Christian faith is a relationship with God. It is not. a mere religious experience, but it is a life. changing experience.

We are called to the supper. Jesus spoke about another feast on another day. The master had prepared the feast and invited all the well-to-dos and the well-knowns of his day to come. And one after another, they began to make excuse, our Lord said. One said, well, you know, I have a new piece of property.

I have to check this piece of property out. Another said, I've got a brand new oxen. I've got to go prove this oxen. And then another one said, I've got a brand new wife. I've got to take care of my wife.

But excuse after excuse came. And the master of the feast was very angry that the invitation had been rejected. That's when he said to his servants, go out into all the highways, into the hedges. Find the blind and the lame and the crippled and compel them. to come in.

that my house would and will be full. And that's exactly what they did. What a story, what a picture that is of all of us. In our broken condition, being invited to the table of the Lord, none of us deserve. to be present.

But we are all there. Notice that they are theirs small and great. The greats and the near greats and the not so great. But the one common denominator is that we are in Christ.

So respond to the invitation. RSVP is required. And the way you respond to the invitation is by simply saying an eternal yes to Christ. And as Christ has accomplished salvation in his cross and by the power of his resurrection, we respond to the call, whosoever will may come. But you know, we are also to rejoice.

in the celebration. It's supper time. Now, the wedding in the day of Christ was, as I said, far different in that the bridegroom was really the featured attraction and the focal point. of a Jewish wedding. Certainly, when it comes to the marriage supper of the Lamb, the bride is not the primary focus.

But rather The bridegroom. And the bridegroom, of course. is Jesus. And the music of heaven, the melodies of heaven. Fill the atmosphere.

In fact, Verses 1 through 6. Describe The music. Most wedding has music. And the music of this wedding is the hallelujah chorus. Because again and again and again, four or five times in this passage, we read the word with exclamation point.

Hallelujah. Interestingly, it is the only mention of the word hallelujah, which means praise. To the Lord. The only mention of the word hallelujah in the New Testament is right here in these six verses. Yeah.

And around the wedding, Myriads of angels. are worshiping The Lord. Later on in verse 6, we join in the saints of all the ages and the friends of the bridegroom. We are all sharing in the praise to our God. Why?

Because praise. Praise is the preoccupation of heaven. Music. Is the language of the soul, and it is the language of heaven. I know it says they are saying it, but can you imagine beyond their saying it the thunderous.

Breathtaking experience of hearing these praises unto our God. Hallelujah. Of course, you know it is the same in every language. We can always communicate. It's going to be amazing when we stand around the table of the Lord and we're singing and sharing in this, and there will be every color and every kindred and every nation and every language.

And yet, when we say hallelujah, we're all on the same page. Recently, we went to Romania and there, we were involved with the Romanian church and ministry there. And of course, I had trouble with the language. I was clueless as to how to speak. That's why we had communicators and language interpreters there.

But the pastor of the church has an unusual way of greeting Americans. I say it's unusual, it's really ingenious because he will walk right up to you, and with his Romanian accent, he will say, Hallelujah. Hallelujah, and we know exactly. Who He is and who we are. We are together in Christ.

praising. him. You're listening to PowerPoint with Jack Graham and the message, Suppertime. Pastor, there is an upcoming opportunity for our listeners to join you on the trip of a lifetime. Can you tell us more?

Now, let's get back to today's message, supper time.

Now, this heavenly choir that sings. We're told In verse 1, that it is a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven. Later on, we're told that this was a thunderous multitude. Verse 6, I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, the sound of many waters, and the sound of mighty thunderings. Hallelujah.

For the Lord God omnipotent reigns. And not only hallelujah. But amen. Notice that they say hallelujah and amen, which means. Let it be.

Let it be. Yes. And as these alleluias go forth, there's the alleluia for salvation, redemption. We shout victory. We are saved.

And we will never forget the Lord gave us his supper to help us to remember his grace and his salvation provided for us. But do you know in heaven, we will never once forget what Christ has done for us. Hallelujah for your salvation. No one will need to remind us. It will be the theme of heaven: Worthy is the Lamb who is slain.

We will shout the victory. And it was a Praise for retribution on earth.

Now, it might seem strange when you read, for example. Verse 2, it says, for true and righteous are his judgment, because he has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servant shed by her, and they said, hallelujah, her smoke rises forever and ever. That might surprise you that in heaven we are praising God for his retribution to those who have rejected him, but think about it for just a moment. What is it that we desire and that is justice? When God makes things right.

This judgment specifically refers to his judgment upon the Antichrist, the beast, and the economical and political and even religious system of the beast in the Great Tribulation. All of this is going to be destroyed, but the point is that we will praise God for finally and fully and ultimately, all sin and all evil will be eradicated. Salvation is in three tenses, you know. Here's At the beginning, initially, when we are saved, we are saved from the penalty of sin. Christ took our judgment.

And he paid the price and gave us the gift of salvation and the penalty of sin. He paid a debt that he did not owe so that we. Could receive his grace and his forgiveness in our lives. That's being saved from the penalty of sin. As we grow up in Christ, as we become more like Christ, as the Spirit of God works in our lives, we are progressively made more and more like Christ.

That's what we talk about when we refer to sanctification, as we are made holy in Christ. That's the progressive work of Christ. That's the process that he is working in us when we will be saved from the power of sin. and the grip of sin. in our lives but one day Now think about this.

One day, Today we're looking at Here in Revelation 19. We will be saved from the very presence of sin. Our salvation will be complete. No more sin, no more sorrow, no more suffering. and all of the consequences of sin because God will judge sin.

And that justice rises, causes us to rise in praise to God who is holy, who is righteous, and who is just. We praise him for We praise Him for the retribution upon the earth. We praise Him that He is reigning. Verse 6 says, The Lord God, omnipotent, He is reigning. raining.

You see, it is a great celebration. The marriage supper of the Lamb has come. Blessed are you. Happy are you. If you are invited.

If you are present. at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Why a wedding? Why the wedding of the Lamb? Why didn't it say the marriage supper of the Creator?

Or the marriage supper of God. Or the marriage supper of the Savior. No, it says the marriage supper of the Lamb. Because the Lamb The dear Lamb of God. It takes away the sin of the world has taken away your sin and mine.

He loved you before you loved him. You fell in love with the Lamb of God. We've given our life to the one who's given our lives, his life for us. And God created Adam and Eve. First he created Adam and then From the side, from the rib of Adam, he made the woman.

Out of the side, the woman was created, the bride was given. And out of the wounded side, out of the bleeding side of our Lord, the Lamb of God. We have been given life. The bride of Christ has come forth. And oh, how we celebrate.

His grace. Peter said, the one that we have loved. Even though we have never seen him. I've never seen Jesus. But the Spirit of God and the Word of God has taught us.

told me of him. The Spirit of God has wooed me and won me. There's a story in the Old Testament. It tells of Abraham telling his servant, commanding his servant actually, to go and get a bride, to find a bride for his son Isaac. And so the servant goes to a far country and There He sees the one.

He finds the one that is to be the bride. of Isaac, her name Rebecca. And it was the responsibility of the servant to convince Rebekah to go with him and to marry the son. of Abraham.

So the servant convinced her. He gave her gifts. He told her of the greatness of Isaac the son. She went with him, and there must have been Days along the journey in which she may have been discouraged or doubtful, but When he When she was discouraged or doubtful, The servant Eleazar would simply say something great about her husband to be. Perhaps give her a gift as a token of his love.

And when she arrived, Isaac was standing there. In the field, and she lit off her camel, the Bible says. That means she went running to him. and embraced him, and they were man and wife. I have never seen Jesus, but the Spirit of the living God.

has spoken to me. The servants of God have told me of the greatness of the Son. And while I have not seen him, I love him. And I don't mind telling you, I love Jesus. And I'm looking forward.

To loving him in his presence. We will be with him. And to think this marriage supper is just the beginning. Many Bible scholars think that this supper will last the entire millennium for a thousand years. But oh, how we ought to get ready, and that's my final word to you quickly this morning.

That is, when we consider the fact that it is supper time. Respond to the invitation. Rejoice in the celebration. And ready yourself. for the presentation.

Notice In verse 8. The end of verse 7. His wife has made herself ready. And to her, it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts. of the saint.

Simply put, So you can remember it. Can remember it. We are to be Robed and ready. How do you get robed? And how do you get ready?

The robe here. we're told is the righteous acts of the saints. The wedding dress, of course, is very, very important.

Now in The Oriental customs of the times of Christ. There was an undergarment. known as the tunic, and the outer garment known as the toga. And I could simply suggest today. that the undergarment, the tunic that we wear, is the righteousness of Christ.

Underneath. Dressed in his righteousness alone. thoughtless to stand before the throne. Our righteousness is as filthy rags, the prophet said. We stand in his righteousness, and we are clothed, we are covered.

Remember when the prodigal son came home? He was filthy, he was dirty, but the father rejoiced and welcomed him home and said, Put the best robe on him, put the ring on his finger. This is my son who has come home.

Well This is the robe of righteousness that our God has given to us, but the external garment. that the bride would wear. was the toga. And this, we're told, is made up of the righteous acts of the saints. The deeds will determine Our dress.

How we have weaved into our lives the works. The good works. of salvation. And therefore, there should be nothing in our lives that would dishonor Christ, that would be a disappointment to him when we stand in his presence. We ought to judge every action, every activity, every attitude in lieu of this moment when we stand before Him.

Thank God. When we stand before him, arrayed in white linen. It is because He has removed all the blame and all the blemishes of life. And may God help us. To so live, that you say, when do we get our dress?

When do we get this?

Well, perhaps at the judgment seat of Christ. all these blemishes and all these blurs and blots. Are removed, and we are rewarded, and we are honored, and we are given the garment of praise. Families. And friends.

All gather together. Around the throne. of God. We are to be rugged. I wish I had time to say more about that.

but we're to be ready. The bride has made herself Ready. May we wait, may we watch. Thing we long for and love his appearing. and look forward to the day when it's supper time.

Pastor, what is your PowerPoint for today? Because of salvation through Jesus, believers have the joy and certainty of knowing that one day we will be with Him, that we will sit down and enjoy an everlasting meal with Him. And for those listening today who are not believers, there is still room at the table for you. If you respond to His call, you can rest assured that you will be sitting with us at God's table in heaven. Jesus said this in Revelation three Behold, I stand at the door and knock, and if anyone hears my voice, opens the door, I will come in.

Dine with Him and He with Me. In other words, if you will invite Jesus into your life, He will come into your life and you will sit down and share life and love and fellowship and faith forever. He is standing at the door of your heart, knocking right now. But you need to invite him in. You need to trust Him as your Lord and Savior.

And I want to encourage you today to answer the call of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus personally into your life.

So, if you'd like to invite Christ into your life right now, then pray a prayer like this. Lord Jesus, I I invite you to come into my life. I believe you died on the cross and rose again. And right now, I welcome you into my heart, into my life. Please forgive me of all my sin, change my heart, O God, and make me your.

Your child.

Now, if you pray this prayer and sincerely mean it, Then celebrate your assurance in Him, your certainty in Him. Thank Him right now for hearing your prayer and coming into your life, because I promise you, according to God's Word, you are now a child of God by faith.

So let me be the first to welcome you into the family of God. It's going to be a glorious day when we can all sit down together in eternity for supper time with Jesus. And I'm so thankful that we will get to see you there. By the way, we want to know about your decision today, so please contact us and we'll send you important information that will help you get started in your walk with Christ. And that is today's PowerPoint.

Today if you prayed that prayer with Dr. Graham and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we'd love to hear from you so we can help you begin your new life with Christ. Please text the word Jesus to 59-789. And join us again next time as Dr. Graham brings a message.
