The following program is recorded content created by the Truth Network. It's Matt Slick Live. Matt is the founder and president of the Christian Apologetics Research Ministry, found online at Carm.org. When you have questions about Bible doctrines, turn to Matt Slick Live for answers, taking your calls and responding to your questions at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.

All right, and welcome to the show. It's me, Matt Slick, and you're listening to Matt Slick Live for the newbies who might just be turning in and going, Matt Slick, what kind of name is that? It's my real name. Born with it, learned to run as a kid. And it works great for radio.

So Matt's look live. If you want to give me a call, we can talk about theology and Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, Unity, Baha'i Islam, Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, UFOs, the occult. I'll kind of stuff. Just give me a call. 8772072272222222222 Well, excuse me.

Whoa, hiccup there. 2276. I knew the last four digits spelled C-A-R-M. Carm.org, which is uh CARM, you know, the Christian Apologetics Research Ministry. All right.

A bit of a cough. a coffin and a hiccup out of nowhere. All right. So. Since we have nobody waiting right now.

I thought I'd just give a review of a few things.

So last night, you know, I invited people to listen in. And discuss the issue of reform theology because a lot of people who are really obstreparous, really hate reform theology, just talk all kinds of smack on the karm. a Facebook page which has sixty three thousand uh followers. And so I offered to be a very good idea. To do a QA last night, set it up a week in advance and things like that.

And it worked out pretty well, to my surprise. The first time, I've done it like three or four times before, and basically it was a bust. People would complain and not show up. But we had a guy come on, we had two, three guys, and a guy come on, and he didn't agree with Reformed theology. We just had a great discussion.

He actually said, I was the first Calvinist who wasn't yelling at him and mad and putting him down and things like that. I said, why? Calvinism is not the gospel. And uh we just got different opinions on things. That's okay.

And so. I was able to have a good discussion on that. And he was grateful for that. It was a good conversation, too. I showed a lot of stuff that a lot of people just do not.

Don't know about. And I don't say that in a pompous way. It's just that there's some things in the scriptures that a lot of people are just not aware of. And so I was showing them some things. Anyway, that was interesting.

So that was really well done. And So I was out running some errands, and on the way home, I got got online on my phone. I listened tight into my radio on my. My car if I can just list them. And I got into a discussion forum, and oh my goodness, the Catholics and this one guy, they were going at each other, and I was listening, and I ended up getting involved in there.

uh after about a half hour, you know, 'cause it was their discussion. And um Man, I'll tell you, it's so easy to destroy Roman Catholicism, doctrine of salvation. But what's really to me is interesting is how they just will not submit to Scripture, to God's Word. They misinterpret scripture, they do whatever they can, and it's because they don't have the mind of Christ. And they don't.

Because Roman Catholicism is just not Christian. It's uh teaches the false gospel. False Christ and promotes idolatry. And at one point, I actually said to one of their main Catholic guys who was defending Catholicism, and he's done it many, many, many, many, many times. He defends it, defends it, defends it.

I actually got him to admit. And he actually said this. that uh God has made Mary into a functioning goddess. And the room erupted, like I said. I said, your church is false because one of the things it does is it turns Mary into a functioning goddess.

And he said, God did make her into a functioning goddess. And the whole room erupted. I said, What? Are you saying that? He goes, Yeah.

And so a few minutes later, I said, Look, I think you just kind of misspoke. I don't think you really meant to say that. You know, you want to just retract that statement. It's fine. People say things on the heat of the moment.

He goes, nope, I stand by it.

Okay.

So God, according to this one Catholic, not the official Catholic doctrine. Uh turns um Turns her into a functioning goddess, and they do, and which is idolatry. And anyway, it was an interesting conversation, and then a Mormon got involved, and Uh get this soy s this guy can He doesn't know what he's doing. Uh I said in DNC, almost 11, it's 26 to 29, there's only one God. And DNC 130, 22, and 120.

130. What is it? What is it? I'm not going to look it up because it's been a while. Let's see.

I'm going to read this to you. Or just quote the verses and so I can represent it accurately. Where it's in DNC 130.22, it says that there's a God with a body and another God without a body. And then DSC 132.20 says that you can become gods.

So I said, what does the word God mean that goes across these categories? And he said, Jesus is God. That's the answer. That's not an answer. He goes, yes, it is.

And I said, that's not an answer. He goes, did I not give you an answer? I said, yeah, you gave me an answer. See, you were lying, weren't you? Wow.

This is the level of incompetence that this one Mormon guy has exemplified numerous times, the pride, the arrogance that is there.

So this is my afternoon. What'd you guys do? What do you guys do?

So uh oh, and And I released an article. Uh today. on what are the charismatic gifts. And so yesterday I released an article, Do Historical Miracles Prove Apostolicity of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy? And that's an interesting article.

That took me a few days to analyze and go through. But I went through what are the charismatic gifts. And I did that there, and you can go check them out because I believe in all the charismatic gifts being available for us today. That is not a common reform position. But it is my position, it's what I hold to, and I'm willing to defend it.

But I'm not going to divide over it. I mean, if you don't agree, oh, okay, that's all right. I've got good brothers in the Lord who don't agree with me. And I tell them, it's okay for you to be wrong, I don't mind, it doesn't bother me. And that's what they say about me, and we have a good laugh and we move on.

Alright, having said all that, we've got more to talk about, too. But let's get to Jermaine from. The People's Republic of California. Welcome, brother. You're on the air.

Please. Hey, Comrade Slick. Yeah, I was uh Comrade Slick.

Sound like an upper echelon general in some bad government. Wow. Comrade Slick. Watch out for that guy. Stay away.

Well, that's what it sounds like. I'm from the People's Republic. You're a former comrade. Man. Wow.

I'd say that was an insult, but it's pretty funny. It's pretty good. It's good stuff. Comrade Slick, man. Wow.

That's a dystopian sci-fi or something right there.

Okay, anyway, having enough fun.

So, what do you got, man? What's up? I want to revisit the topic of baptism since I have a little more time today.

Okay.

So, I've been just searching scriptures, and I understand why some could come to the conclusion or how they can say. You know, or how they some can believe that baptism is directly. tied to salvation as a as a means. But I see it as closely associated, and it looks like people are inspired to get baptized like right away. But I think there are caveats not really covering everybody because I've seen different situations.

And and I can, you know, I can get with whatever other brothers see things differently. I get that. But Is there anywhere in the New Testament that gives the authority of anyone to say you're not? Saved because you haven't been baptized because that I don't see. I see a close association, but.

To me, it's just very presumptuous to tell someone. Literally, you're not saved because you didn't get baptized under our organization with our water Or you haven't been baptized at all, no matter how many times you say you love the Lord, well, where's your proof? Right. I just can't find that in like what gives these people that authority. Hey, I'm with you, brother.

I'm with you. You're right, and there's nothing in scripture that says that if you don't get baptized, you're not saved. But. They will yeah, they'll put the uh they'll put the works into it. They will.

They will add stuff. As much as they can. And you're right. You're right. It doesn't say that.

So good for you, man. Yeah. Shh.

Okay.

Okay, yeah, and I'm uh I'm reading through your your critical thinking portion of Of the school, so that helped a lot, just really trying to attack things from all angles and understand it. I can really honestly minister to my children better because. They're getting to the age where they're asking more questions and You're battling. the internet and other people's opinions.

So I I see the calling of being a minister of my home. And that's why I'm very glad I got exposed to The other churches' way of baptism because it made me dig into the scriptures to find the truth. Good. While it is associated, it's a good thing. I won't discount that, but I don't give any authority to people who don't have the authority they're claiming to.

And that that's where we part ways. Right. Yeah, and you need to part ways with the baptismal generationists. They're trying to be biblical, but they're in error, and they don't realize they're adding a ceremony as a requirement of salvation. There is nothing that we can do, whether ceremony or by direct work, by which we can then gain the justification of Christ, the justifying faith that we have.

It's granted to us by God, and we're justified by faith when we have faith. But what they'll do is add one more little thing. Baptism. Just like the Judaizers, you want to add one little more thing to being saved, circumcision. And both are ceremonies.

When I addressed, by the way, when I addressed this issue to them, I say it's a ceremony. But no, it's not. Of course, it's a ceremony. And so they play word games all the time in order to defend their doctrines, to change the word of God, to do that. But uh, but yeah, you're right, man.

You've got a good head on your shoulders. I know your children are going to be blessed by your. your work with them and I'm glad that you That you have a desire to serve God. to to honor him. And so you got a bit hit on your shoulders.

And they're blessed for having you as a father. Thanks. I appreciate that, Matt. Yeah, raising kids is definitely not easy as you've already known. It's like a walking through a minefield with with uh the mind smiling at you.

But yeah, and I'm doing my best and And appreciate your resources and willingness to dive into these topics. It does help a lot.

So thank you.

Well, you know, it's one thing I'm good at, I think, is being able to take complicated stuff, biblical stuff, and just condense it down into articles so people can read it, see the relationship and related stuff, and that by God's grace.

So, hopefully. You know, people benefit from that, and that's what it's for. And then they take it and they do bigger and better things with it.

So, praise God, you know. And uh you're doing great man. You're doing great. All right. And just to end, but every believer that is professing should be baptized if possible.

Yep, right. That's right. Absolutely. All right. That's the way I see it.

Okay.

Right. All right. Well, thanks for our mat. God bless you. And Hope to talk to you tomorrow.

Lord willing. All right, Lord Welling. God bless. All right. By the way, I'll not be on your live Friday.

I'll be doing something. And so just letting you guys know that, let's get to Nelson from. California Nelson, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, Matt, what's going on?

God bless, my brother. Hey, man, God bless you, too. God bless. What do you got, man? What's up?

So I got two questions. They're not necessarily related, but we'll start with the first one.

So I've called a couple of times and I mentioned it to you that I've been trying to witness to some of my friends who are in Catholicism. And um Wow, all I can say it's It's yes, bad. And so, um Um, from chapter 8 of Revelation, they love to quote this verse. I'm pretty sure you know where I'm going with this. Um In verse, I believe it's Four but if you can read it in context from one to five oh yeah, please yeah, yeah, it says when the Lamb broke the seven seals, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour, I saw the seven angels who stand before God and seven trumpets who were given to them, and and uh another angel came and stood at the altar.

Holding a golden censer, and much incense was given to him so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints. We go to the altar, which is before the throne. The smoke of the incense went up, which is the prayers of the saint, which would. And that's what it's going to talk about, and we'll get back to that. after the version.

Hold on, brother. Thank you. Post you right back after these messages, please. Stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276.

Here's Matt Slick. Everybody, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it is so easy to do. Just out 877-207-2276. Let's get back with Nelson from California.

All right, brother. You still there? Yes, I'm right here.

Okay.

Alright, so what they're trying to do is when they use this Revelation 8, they also go to Revelation 5. And they want to say that it's biblical to pray to the saints.

So they're going to use this, but they do improperly. But here's what they're doing: they're trying to appeal to Scripture to validate. their position. Nothing in the scripture mentions praying to dead people. And when I say that to the Catholics, they say, they're not dead.

And that has explained to them when the Bible talks about them being dead. We're with the Lord. But that's the term that they use. The dead have gone on, and they're still conscious and aware.

Okay? And. And so tell them, you know, what you're saying is that you're praying to them, and I'm glad that you're using the Bible or trying to, but you have to go to the most symbolic book in the Bible, Revelation. Which uses symbols in this issue in order to say that it's okay to pray to people. Yeah.

And what it says is another angel came down from And stood at the altar holding a golden sensor. A sensor, C-E-N-S-E-R, is a device or a holding vessel kind of a thing. That's what it is, holding a censor. It's like a vessel, a container. And much incense was given to him.

To the angel. Incense was given.

Well, you know what incidence is. It's a thing that you light and it burns and a little smoke goes up.

So that he might add it to the prayers.

So I asked the Catholics, I go, so. Is is this literal incense? That's being added to prayers? Smoke has been added to prayers. What's going on here?

And then they start having problems because they want to, well, the incense.

Well, what does incense stand for? Because it's not literal smoke that's added to the prayers, right? No, the incense is the prayers, it's the intentions. Oh so you are then saying it's spiritually speaking, not literally speaking? Right?

Not are stuck. Because if they say no, it's not, then they just but they just did. If they say yes, it is, so then let's go on.

So then it's literal, it's figurative.

Okay.

So he might add it to the prayers.

So he's going to add incense to prayers? Of all the saints? on the golden altar?

So prayers are now on a golden altar?

So how are prayers on an altar? And I say, prayers are abstract entities. They're things that occur in the mind and in the heart before God. You can't put them on something, they don't have mass, weight, and location.

So I say this is where you have to go. With the most symbolic book in the Bible. And even what you're saying is highly symbolic. And then if we just try and interpret it, It just your whole argument just crumbles before you. And this is how I handled them.

It doesn't say that.

It doesn't say their prayers because it said, and the smoke of their incense with prayers of the saints went up before God.

Okay, and they'll say so they'll say that means they can hear our prayers in heaven. I say, uh hmm the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up to God. Which means the saints can now hear hear them? Is that what it says? It's not what it says.

So then I say to them, What you're doing, you're just desperate to find something in the scriptures to make it say what you want it to say.

So you can, it's it's so it's like saying it's Revelation 8:5 and 5:8, okay?

So you can, it's not exactly right, but it's like that. And you can just remember them where to go. But when you go to Revelation 5:8, when he had taken a book, The Four Living Creatures, I'll ask Him. Who are the four living creatures? And the 24 elders.

Who's the 24 elders? And I'd say, how do you know that's what it is? And I fill that before the Lamb. We know the Lamb is Jesus. each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense.

So, the bowls are the incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Oh, so now we know that the incense is the prayers.

So, the angel came down when we go to Revelation 5. five eight or eight uh four As an angel came down, and much incense was given to him.

So prayers are given to an angel? That he can add the prayers to the golden altar?

So, did he collect them, hold them in his arms, walk over, fly over, and dump them into a bowl? What's going on here? And you can see when you start talking like this and asking them, it just becomes a problem, and they don't know what to do. You know, you're just not smart. And so back to Revelation 5:8, the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which were the prayers of the saints.

They sang a new song saying, Worthy are you to take the book and break its seals, for you were slain and you're purchased. And I say, So, what does it say that there the saints in heaven can hear prayers? We're just saying that. Yeah, it doesn't say it. And I say, you guys are just so desperate to make God's word support your theology.

And you go to the most symbolic place of the Bible and then interpret everything literally the way you want. It it's horrible. This just shows how weak your position is.

Okay.

Yeah, they don't like for some reason. Yeah, I mean, yeah, I've been talking to a friend and I've kind of been. In um Sharing her some stuff, and I guess it was my follow-up question with the same question. Number one. When Okay.

She has tells me to look in the history of Catholic Catholicism, you know, they know how they'd say that. They they s well, she told me about the original. And so I need to be Yeah. Yeah. Well, hold on.

When someone says they're the original church, I'd say, and how do you know that? What's the evidence that they're your original church? Because who told you this? Your Catholic Church told you that their original church?

Well, I gotta stop waiting for it. Oh yeah, it was, I guess I was. And so, um You know, I s and so I uh I said, Look, Um Let me show you something. And so I send her the link that you the article that you wrote. of um I forget the number the the they're in the um Uh, think it's like fifteen or twenty Things that um I know you've written a bunch of articles, but one of the articles that you wrote about why wrote.

reasons why the Cath Catholic Church is heretical. Oh, yeah. And she wouldn't even look at it. She says, I'm not going to look at it.

Well, she didn't say that, but she pretty much stated that she's not going to look at it.

So I guess my next question from me, I guess, to you. Is what do I do next if she's not open even to dialogue? Just say, just say, I'm not talking to you. If you're not going to look at the evidence that I have and the things like that. then why should I talk to you?

You just only want me to look at what you say. And I say, Come on now, let's be fair. If you want me to look at your stuff, is it okay if you look at mine? I'm just asking for fairness.

Well, it's all false. How do you know it's not all false? How do you know what you say it is? I've already tried that. Let's be fair, we agree to this, so let's you know and just She says no.

It's just like, but it's okay for her to tell me to be open-minded and to study their history, but she won't study, not even look at what I send her. Then what you can do is just start asking questions, okay? And what you know, I've had Catholics who refuse to look at anything I've written. because everything you say is taken out of context. And I say, Are you sure?

Oh, yes. Have you looked at it? No. Then how do you know it's taken out of context? You know, and it's easy to dialogue with them and destroy them in their arguments.

Now, hold on, we've got to break them up and we'll get back to you after a bit, okay? Hey, folks, be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.

Alright, everyone, welcome back to the show. Thanks for listening. And if you want to give me a call, all I gotta do. Is dial 8772072276. All right, Nelson.

You still there, brother? Yes, some here.

Alright.

Now. You got time for something? I can teach you something. I can run something. Yes, let's do it.

All right. So what I'll do with them I'm going to slow down and I'm going to teach this because I think this is worth for people to know something. Um This is something I use regularly with The Catholics and Eastern Orthodox, those who Pray to the saints, and I'll bring up Mary. And I'll say, so you can pray to Mary, right? And they'll say, yes.

It says, okay.

So Can you show me any place in the Bible where they pray to Mary? And of course, the answer is no. They go into these other things and yeah, I may or may not focus on it.

Okay.

I said, well let me ask you some questions. I get some questions.

So Are you saying then that Mary can hear Uh Multiple prayers simultaneously from all over the world. And different people praying to her. And he said, Well, yes. I said, okay, now we need to talk about this because there's some problems with that. I said, a normal human being is not able to understand Let's just say 10 simultaneous conversations all at once, comprehend them 100%, like you would one-on-one with somebody, and respond simultaneously to all ten.

It's a a a human just can't do that, right? And they go, Yeah, but Mary can because blah blah blah. They see where I'm going. I say, Look.

So, a normal person can't do this.

Well, Mary's not normal. We already see ahead. I say, okay, well she's not normal.

So they're now saying then that something has changed in Mary, right? They have to say yes and say okay. The reason, for example, I said, I don't know about you, but I can't understand ten simultaneous conversations, even though I've been doing this very kind of thing for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours for years. Where I've had people all at once talking to me, I can't understand, never once. And I practice trying this, and I can't do it.

I said, but you can say Mary could do 10.

So a normal human, would you agree? A normal human could not do that? And they say, yes, a normal human, but she's not normal.

Okay, great, got it.

So then a normal human can't do it because that's their nature. The normal human's nature is such that he or she can't do it. Right? Now they start seeing a little bit more complicated issue they've got to get around. If they say yes, a normal one can't, but Mary's not normal.

That's what I want. in order to trap them logically.

So okay.

So You're saying she's not normal. That's right, because God gave her the grace to be able to do this. Yeah. Alright, so a normal human can't do it. but a a non-normal human can.

Is she still human? And they'll say, well, of course she is. I said, let me ask you something here.

So So There are roughly nine 1.925 billion Catholics and Eastern Orthodox in the room, in the world. If, hypothetically, one in every 500 of them is praying to Mary any particular time. That's thirty four point four million people simultaneously praying to Mary. Let's reduce this from 34.4 million down to 1 million. Can Mary understand one million prayers simultaneously all over the world?

Spoken to her. And they have to say yes. then God has changed her nature. from she normally can't to somehow now she can. A million.

And before I I say before you answer She also has to know the the thoughts that are spoken. as well as not spoken, which means she has to have access to their minds. to know what they're thinking. And that means she has to have a presence in her minds.

Now there's a another way to get go through this, God could give her the information, but we'll get to that next.

So if she has to know their thoughts, she has to have access to their individual minds.

So now you're saying, potentially, that she is in the persons of a million at a time. And I've had Catholics say, yeah, God could have do that. Yeah, seriously. And I'll say, okay, so now also she can be in her hearts. This is the extreme that many Catholics have affirmed.

Not all do, because they see problems right away and they don't want to go that far. But I'll go this one and I'll go back through the iterations.

So I say, okay, so in this case, for those who say, yeah, she can do that, okay.

So it's called multipresence, which is a subcategory of God's omnipresence, because God can live in all of us. And if there's eight billion people. He can live in eight billion people at a time because that's part of his omnipresence. And now you're saying that Mary can have access to the mind of individuals all at the same time, at least a million. That's also called multipresence, which is a subdivision of omnipresence.

I might say that sometimes because then they want to say, well, she's not omnipresent like God is. I grant that. That's what you're saying. I understand it. But what you are saying is that she's in a million minds.

in this scenario. And not only that, she has to know their thoughts and the intentions of their hearts because someone could be praying with impure motives.

So she's not going to answer the prayer of someone with an impure motive. And she has to know what God's will is for each and every one of those simultaneously, all at the same time, while she's listening to a million prayers, knowing the intentions and thoughts of those people in their minds and their hearts, and knowing what God wants for each one so that she can answer the prayers. Is that what you're saying? I cannot tell you how many Catholics have said, yes, that's right. And I'll say, how is she not a functioning goddess?

Dead. Because what you're doing is you're saying God has severely altered her very essence, her very nature, in order to do what humans can't do by nature. How is she still a human being?

Well, God can do anything He wants. That's true. He can do anything he wants. And then I get to the absurd with them, and I'll say.

Okay.

I've had these real conversations. I've said Can God make Mary so big she can eat the planet Jupiter? I've actually asked them that very question. And I've had them say, yes, different Catholics, yes, you can. If he wants to, he can make her so big she can eat Jupiter.

And I would say, okay, so does that mean she choose Jupiter? you know, 'cause she's mouth'cause gotta be bigger than Jupiter, so she can is it like an elephant thing, one bite at a time? Or is she like just bigger than than Jupiter? And, you know, like and she's out in space floating there and she can eat the entire planet Jupiter? And I mean, I'm serious.

Okay, she can, if God wants, I go, okay, okay. Can God make her so big that she could eat the universe? And they've had I've had him say, yes. Oh wow. Yeah, and it's called argument sort of.

You take it to its, you know, the stupidity of their logic. Extreme. Extreme. Okay, so this just, what do you say to them? You say, okay, and I ask them a question.

Are you by any chance living in the state of Idaho where I live? And they go, no. Oh, good. Because I don't want to be on the road driving while you're out there. Cause man you don't know what reality is.

I guess Jupiter is as small as a crumb. Oh, yeah. You could eat Jupiter. And I had him say yes.

Okay, now some will say, no, the beatific vision. God grants her the ability to. Oh, I just moved and flinched and made a loud noise.

Sorry. God will grant her the ability to hear a million prayers. She can't be in their minds, but God grants them. He takes a million prayers and gives them to Mary. And I'll say, let's work with that.

So now you're saying that prayers Go to Mary, but she can't hear them all. and so God takes the prayers a million, and somehow puts em into the mind of of Mary Because that's how it would have to be. And she can comprehend them all at the same time, and She has to also know because God has to give to her the knowledge of the intention of their hearts. And their desires and related prayers, because sometimes, you know, you've got to pray more than once. And how many times have you been praying?

And in the first and second prayer, was that sincere or not sincere? How good? She has to know all of this, and God has to grant all of this to her, and she has to know the very heart of God in all of these things in order to be able to answer the prayers, right? God can do anything he wants.

Okay.

All right. And so I had a question. Why is it. God needs Mary? Could do all this?

What what's the reason? Because that's how God set it up. And I say, oh yeah, he did. That's in the book of second hysterectomy. That's where that is.

Next to the book is. Noted also, 2 Moronicals. 2 Moronicles. And there's also a book, First Colonoscopy. And uh that's another book that they they quote out of, and I'll say it to them.

So that yeah, that's for the book of first colonoscopy.

Okay, and some people in the room will laugh, and others will go, you're being insulting. And I'll say, no, I'm not. I'm just showing you the stupidity of your position. The facts. The facts.

And I'm saying that's not in the Bible, that you're getting it. I love the book, Second Colonoscopy, you know, and First Hysterectomy. I just love those.

So hold on, bro. We got more, okay? Write back after these messages. Please stay tuned. Hope you guys are enjoying this.

We're right. Do that. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everybody, welcome back to the show.

Last segment of the hour. Let's get back on with Nelson. Are you still there, brother? Yes, I'm still here.

So thank you for all that. And I was actually pondering, as you had mentioned, that I thought about this earlier. Um within the same Context of Catholicism, I'll just call back tomorrow for the second question I had. This question came to mind earlier today.

So as we know, they take what they call the Eucharist. which it becomes to them the literally the body and the actual blood of Christ. Yep. In order for people to receive that, they have to be fasting. cleanse themselves.

and in order to take it proper.

So my thought process was like, wow.

Okay, they're being deceived Immensely? Is it very possible by them taking But It like that, that they're just being infilled with more More more I will go as far as the Legions. You know, that's an interesting possibility because. As we talk about some of these things, this logic, well, let me back up. A lot of people when they hear me say Catholicism is is false.

They don't understand. It's not just, oh, I don't like it. No, there are some serious problems, and this is one of them. They promote idolatry, flat-out idolatry, putting Mary in the status of a goddess. Yeah.

And so, when you go to this issue of the Eucharist, you have to do these things in order to be that, they are opening the doors up to more false doctrines. And it's possible they could become possessed or oppressed. or just b flat uh flat out brainwashed.

Okay.

Yeah. And by the way, I just gotta get before I forget, I thought about this. If Mary was gonna eat Jupiter. See, Jupiter's maze is gas. It's hydrogen and helium, methane, ammonia, water vapor.

She'd have to use a straw.

So I actually went into an AI and I said, hypothetically, to eat Jupiter with a straw, let's say an alien wanted to do this. And it it actually said fun one, and it came back. And the answer is solving the diameter Aπ, blah, blah, blah. The diameter had to be 340,000 kilometers if you're to do it within how many years. It takes roughly 200 billion times the current age of the universe.

It goes on. It really is. This whole thing is so stupid. It's just ridiculous. And, you know, so I mean, you can fit the earth through the, you know, I can just say she's too.

What was that? Oh, that's planet Earth. Darn.

So, yeah, anyway, but back into this: the Eucharist. Yeah, I can show you something about the Eucharist that stumbles them. Yeah. Do you want to show you that?

Okay, it's easy peasy. You go to John 6. And what they're going to do is go to John 6, 51. I know you were going there.

Okay.

He says the bread that he gives. Is his flesh. That's John 51. They say, see, Matt? He said the bread is his flesh.

I say, okay, and you have to eat his flesh, right? And they go, Yeah, could can we read a little bit before in a little context? This of course And it says okay. And it says in in uh John 6, 47. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.

Verse 48, I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the man in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven.

So that one may eat of it and not die. You said the bread is his body, right? And they say, yes. Did his body come down out of heaven?

Well they can't say yes. I've had him say, yes. No. His body was developed in the womb of Mary. His bread, he's speaking figuratively.

This bread which comes down out of heaven. You must eat of it. But he says, He is the bread. I am the living bread came out of heaven. He who eats of it.

He says the bread is the flesh.

So the flesh is representative of something else that came down of heaven, which is not his physical body. The physical body represents something else. It's not the actual physical body, and therefore, the Eucharist is not dealing with the literal physical body being the thing you have to eat. Boom. And this is what I say.

And then I do a theological thing. I'll say to them afterwards, I'll go.

Next. Yeah, yeah.

Okay.

All right. Um Yeah, it is see I'm gonna just say this to the audience and to you. What I'll do is I'll study something. And I go into chat rooms and I talk to real Catholics as an example. And I'll run stuff by them.

And I will figure things out on the fly. I'll learn this. Like this thing I just shared with you, I figured out this year. This idea of just reading the context. And saying the breaking out of heaven is not his body.

I just started using that a few months ago. And they can't handle it. The idea of Mary eating Jupiter, that was this year also. and the ridiculousness of it. Yeah, so you know, so I I do these things and then come back here on the radio and everybody goes, Well, that's easy.

Well, it takes a lot of practice to get to the place where you can go, Oh, I can break it down to something really dumb. Could you eat Jupiter? You know? And uh.

So there you go, all right. Yeah, no and and you're right because uh I've I've shared enough scripture to her in context, refuted hers, asked her questions, and And I just said uh Because you know so for example, we want to just Well, you just explained right there, right? In John six, Their argument will be well That's your interpretation.

Okay, here's what you do. Here's what you do. I've done this many times with Catholics and East Orthodox. That's just your interpretation. And I'll say No, I don't think I'm that handsome.

Yeah. And they'll go, no, no, no. I was saying blah, blah, blah about the Eucharist, blah, blah, blah, and you got it wrong. And I'll go. What'd you say about my wife?

And I'll do this repeatedly. Whatever they say, all right, I'll just say, give some nonsense thing. I'll say, no, uh, No, I I'm not living on the beach. And they'll go, what are you doing? You're an idiot.

And I go, Well, you said it was just up to interpretation.

So obviously I'm just interpreting it. I'm interpreting whatever you want. I'm interpreting whatever you say because interpretation from what you're saying is just up for grabs. No one can really understand the word of God because God's not capable of making it clear.

So, since I'm just, you're the one bringing it up, so I'm just going to use it to my advantage. And whatever you say, I'm just going to use it the way I want because it's just my interpretation, isn't it? See, that's how I compliment myself when I'm no one else will.

So I have to say, no, I don't think I'm that good looking. Oh, I'm humble. Oh, thank you. I didn't know that. I listen all kinds of stuff and they get upset, you know.

And they'll say, Oh, thank you for saying that, but that's not I don't agree with you, you know. had uh put words in their mouth. It was a lot of fun for me.

So, you know, it's called fun in apologetics. You know, this is how I do this.

So Oh, this is great. No, but yeah, I just wanted to just call up about these questions and so because I've been dealing with A friend that, um, it it just clearly she just doesn't see the scriptures the way it is, and it and and I'm so sad for her. That the fact that, um, like it just right there.

So I even said, so John 3:16, when it says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

So I guess I can't understand that. I can't interpret that. Only your church can. Yeah. Oh, and here's a comment did You can respond to Good for you, man.

You're on the right track. And by the way, guess what? I've asked Catholics how many verses has. the uh Roman Catholic Church officially interpreted.

Okay? 2,000 years. And I've gotten the most I've ever gotten is 15, the lat least I think is 7, so I just go to 11. See, this is average in 11. That means they get one, they interpret one every 200 years.

Now, I think there's like thirty six thousand verses in the Bible, so it's eleven over thirty six thousand, what's the percentage? And it's like uh you know zero point zero two percent.

So you're telling me then that the Roman Catholic Church has not infallibly interpreted ninety nine point two eight percent of the Bible? I'll do those numbers with them. And they say, so that means they get one every roughly 200 years that they've interpreted it infallibly? And I say I set him up. I set him up, and I'll say, I think you're just going beyond what's written in God's word.

I think you're going beyond Scripture. And I say that that way on purpose because I want them to say, no, you can go to tradition, you can go to church councils. You can do all this stuff, and I say, No, I don't think you're supposed to go beyond what's written in the Word of God. And they'll say, no, you have to go to these councils, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'll say, well, I was just quoting 1 Corinthians 4, 6.

Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written.

So that none of you will become arrogant to be honest.

So 1 Corinthians 4, 6, I say Are you going beyond what's written in the Word of God? Wow. Wow. And here's another one, okay?

So they're going to go to 2 Thessalonians 2.15, right? Yes, they love that one. That's that's a go-to. What's a go-to? Stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or mouth or letter from us.

I say, okay.

So you're saying this is sacred tradition, right? I said, good. Do you have an infallible list? of sacred traditions in your church? Is there, you know, traditions?

Because what is this tradition? You know, one priest, you know, in a in the Vatican, I've been to the Vatican incidentally, and Priest Bob goes a priest frank. Hey. Did you hear the one about Paul when he was walking down the road to Damascus? No, I didn't.

Yeah, what happened?

Well, let me tell you. Is that how your tradition works? Where is it listed? Is it just oral? How does it work?

Where's that infallible list so that we know what tradition is? Do you have that? Oh, they cannot answer that question. It's a hammer. It's a hammer.

They cannot. And I'll say. And they say, well, the Bible says hold your traditions.

Okay, which traditions? What's the context of 2 Thessalonians 2.15? It's the return of Christ and the arrival of the Antichrist. Just read the whole chapter. And I say, look at this, I'm going to show you something.

I do this with them all the time. I'll say, so you're saying the church fathers in your tradition got things right. Your church is the true church. Back tomorrow, I'll tell you some stuff on how to get rid of their apostolic authority stuff. It's just bunk.

And so anyway, they'll say the true church. Oh, I love doing this stuff. And so they'll say, Yeah, you know, your traditions and your councils and your church fathers. Yeah, okay, good. I'll see have you read Second Thessalonians two?

Because in there, he says, don't be quickly shaken by the idea that the day of the Lord's come. It won't come until the apostasy comes first. And here's something else. I'll say: Is your church the true church? Yes.

Well, doesn't the Bible say that the there has to be an apostasy before Jesus comes back? Yes.

Doesn't that mean your church has to go apostate? You just listen for the crickets.

Okay.

So, anyway, I'll keep going. There we go. I've had Catholics go, that's a good point.

Okay, I've got to hurry up.

So I'll say, okay, so your church fathers, they get all this right. Yeah, they heard it from the apostles.

So go to 2 Thessalonians 2. And Paul, who told it to them, there's a face. He says, in verse 5, Do you not remember while I was still with you? I was telling you these things. The Thessalonians got the information straight from Paul personally.

and they still messed it up. Right then. He was still alive. They got it direct. And you say that your church fathers, hundreds of years later, didn't get it mixed up when the Thessalonians did right away?

Why should I trust your traditions? Oh yeah. They need to listen for crickets. All right. All right, brother.

Thank you very much for all that info. Oh, man. Call back tomorrow. I got more. I can trash their so-called apostolic authority stuff.

Oh yeah, put it in the garbage disposal. Just get rid of it.

Okay.

All right, man, we'll talk to you later, government. Hey Gil, call back tomorrow about Calvinism and Free Will.

Sorry, we're out of time. There's the music. I'm out of here. May the Lord bless you by His grace. Back on here tomorrow.
