Ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. I told you this is like halftime of the show. I'll be here with you for two more hours and we've talked about a lot right before the break. Talked about everybody hating the damn Kansas City Chiefs. What else is new, right? People are going to hate them a whole lot more if they three-peat on Sunday. We talked about Miles Garrett. This Cleveland Brown who doesn't want to be a Cleveland Brown is making the media rounds here at Super Bowl week down in New Orleans. And he's reiterating the fact that he doesn't want to be a Brown because he wants to win a championship. It's something that we know the Browns don't know anything about. Josh Jacobs says that his team needs a number one wide receiver. His wide receivers are looking at him going, man, shut your ass up. Apparently, Kevin Durant, he wants to shut down the noise about him going to Golden State.
Apparently, he doesn't want to go back. The Golden State Warriors may have to trade for a guy who doesn't want them and that's Jimmy Butler. NBA trade deadline is tomorrow at 3 p.m. Eastern and the rumors are just running wild. We already saw a trade today.
I don't know if this is a big trade or a little trade. Chris Middleton, who a few seasons ago helped the Milwaukee Bucks win an NBA championship. Chris Middleton is now a member of the Wizards in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, who's averaging about what 12, 13.6 rebounds and is shooting like he is covering one of his eyes up. This guy stinks. Maybe by going to Milwaukee, Kyle Kuzma will refine what a basketball is and how you put it in the hole.
Because I mean, playing with Jordan Poole between the two of those guys. Oh, my God. Oh, Hickey, let me tell you something. A couple of months ago, I saw the Wizards play here in Atlanta.
And I had good seats. You want to you want to know what I remembered about Kyle Kuzma, Hickey in that game? Oh, let's hear it. Nothing like his pregame out for something like that. Nope, nope, nothing. I don't remember nothing about nobody on the Wizards, Hickey.
I looked up and I just remember the one white guy who always just stood in the corner waiting for them to pass him the ball. That's it. Nothing.
Because he was right in front of me. I'm going, this guy is doing all this work. Give him the ball. That's it. What a miserable last team that is. You know, that's a we talked about miserable teams last week. There was the Wizards are so miserable. They're not even worth a mention, OK?
Yeah, that's just apathy right there. Yeah. Chris Middleton will probably they're going to cut them, right? You think so? For his sake, I hope so. I mean, you go from not that the Bucks were a, you know, the title contender, but you're in the mix at least to count down the days till the season's over.
Yeah, man. Well, let's see what other ridiculous trades we get tomorrow. Jimmy Butler finally going somewhere. He's staying and Kevin Durant doesn't want to go to Golden State.
He doesn't want to go back. And Bradley Beal doesn't want to kind of kill off his no trade. So this the NBA is just hilarious. And in a lesser trade that most people will just go, huh, what? Valanciunas is going to the Sacramento Kings and Valanciunas, the last outlook he played for Washington. Not too many people would know that because why in the hell would you watch the Wizards? I only saw them because they were here. Give me a break.
OK. Anyway, we talked a lot of NFL. Thank you so much to Captain Jervie Alota. He played football for Navy. He's now well, he played football at Navy. He was captain at Navy. Now he's a captain in the Navy. Came through and talked some football with us.
That was great. We have Nancy Armour for you from USA Today. She's going to come through and join us next hour. So we've had a good mix here of the NFL, the NBA. There's just a lot going on. This is a busy week in the world of sports.
And we know heading into the week. We got the news about Luka Doncic being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. And of course, it jogged a lot of people's memories about some of the worst decisions that we've ever witnessed and seen in the world of sports. And so from that moment, I knew unless there was some type of change that for today's top six list, we were going to bring you a list of some of the worst trades that have ever taken place in sports history. And sure, there are more than six trades. I mean, we can go through leagues and different teams and we can start picking them apart. We know there are more than six awful trades.
No doubt. But this is a unique six that today I can consider to be some of the worst that we have ever seen. Now, before I give you this top six list, I want to be clear. This is not about some guy forcing his way out. This is not a forced leverage thing. I'm talking about just awful, terrible, bad terrible, bad decisions that were made. Not so, for instance, I write out there's no Kobe Bryant here on this list.
I know Charlotte Hornets to the Los Angeles Lakers. That's that that was a force deal. He won't go on plays like I'm going to stay in Italy. Give me a break. OK, there's no Eli Manning here in the chart. None of that crap. None of nothing. We're talking about just dumbass decisions that kicked franchises and as change trajectories and futures.
And so without further ado, this is something that we do every single Wednesday is something that I've done for 15 years, going on 16 years. It's a new top six list of the worst trades in sports history. Six, five, four, three, two, one. It's time to get JR's latest top six list only on the JR Sport Brief.
It is the JR Sport Brief show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. And it's time for a new top six list. We're taking a look at some of the worst trades that have ever taken place in sports history. Oh, yeah, that's tough. I mean, how far can I really go back? 100 years, give or take. Right. Right. Right.
Give or take. Anyway, it's a top six list. Number one is going to be the worst trade ever, but we got to start somewhere. And this one, I guess the owner had no choice but to make the deal because he apparently he needed the money.
What number is this number six? One of the worst trades in sports history was when one of the greatest athletes in sports history was traded because his owner had too many stars. One of the worst trades that we have ever witnessed in sports. We have to go back to 1988 when the great one, Wayne Gretzky, was moved from the Oilers to the L.A. Kings. You want to know who explained this and how he ended up going from the Oilers and the four championships to the Kings?
It's Wayne Gretzky himself, who was on his Spittin' Chicklets podcast. You know, because I only had one year left on my deal and then I was an unrestricted free agent. And basically we sat down and said, listen, you can trade me wherever you want, but I'm not going to resign or I'm not going to sign up. And so kind of got to a point where I knew they're going to trade me, but I was able to control where I was going to get moved to. And it came down to L.A., Detroit, New York and Philly. And then New York and Philly kind of went away and we had sat down and we decided I was going to Detroit.
And I remember sitting there going, OK, this is great. I'm going to go play in Detroit. I grew up a Red Wing fan and Gordie Howell and everything that goes with it. And my dad called me and he said, listen, I'll give you a little bit of advice.
And I said, OK, what's that? He goes, there's only one Gordie Howell in Detroit's Detroit. You don't need to go there.
Why don't you do something different? Go to L.A. And so everybody thought sort of it was my wife that steered the train or the bus. And it was really my dad who said there's only one Gordie Howell.
You need to go do something different. So that's really how I ended up in L.A. Wow. Euless had what, like eight, nine All-Stars? Wayne Gretzky when he was done more than a decade later. Not only did he have more goals than anybody, I hope he still has it. Sorry, Ovechkin.
This man finished his career with 61 NHL records. Do you want to hold on to good talent when you have it? And not just good talent.
The greatest, the greatest talent. You want to talk about one of the worst trades ever? It's saying I can't afford Wayne Gretzky and moving on.
Gretzky to the Kings, one of the worst trades of all time. I got that number six on my list. What's next? Number five. Number five.
Oh, my God. This trade, I'm only putting it at five because it only took place a few days ago. I'm only putting it at five because I'm trying to be kind.
I'm trying to be nice. We have to wait for this to bear out. This might continue to climb the list over the next, I don't know, five, 10, 15 years.
But today it's number five. Yes, it is Luka Doncic being moved from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. This is stupidity at the highest level. This is the GM saying I don't give a damn about my future. This is the general manager, Nico Harrison, of the Dallas Mavericks saying, yeah, this team, it's just it's just a video game.
The Dallas Mavericks are refunding season ticket holders who don't want a part of this crap. They're getting back Anthony Davis, 32 years old, an injury prone himself. Luka Doncic, this man has been a rookie of the year. This man has been all NBA five times. This man has been a superstar. This guy turns 26 on the 28th of this month and is already one of the greatest scores that the NBA has ever seen.
He just happens to be fattened out of shape. So they said bye. What a world. What a world.
What a world. The GM, the guy who knows he's going to get fired eventually because let's be real, Anthony Davis and Kyrie are going to stay healthy. Nico Harrison said why he traded Luka Doncic. Yeah, I think it wasn't really like a point. I think it was like, how do we make our team better? You know, there's some unique things about his contract that we had to pay attention to. You know, there's there's other teams that were loading up, you know, that he was going to have. He was going to be able to decide to make his own decision at some point of whether he wants to be here or not, whether we want to supermax him or not, or whether he wants to opt out.
So I think we had to take all that into consideration and feel like we got out in front of what could have been a tumultuous summer. You know, Hick, you know when someone sneezes a certain word under their breath, under their breath, that sounds like something else. You know what I'm talking about? Yes. When it smells funny and you just have to sneeze and you just go, oh, I'm not going to do it, but you know what I'm talking about? I do. Yeah, that's what that smells like.
A lot of it. This and I'm sure, look, LeBron James, if he could have kept Anthony Davis, he'd have been in heaven. If he could have brought in Luka Doncic to play with him as well, it would have been heaven. But let me just be very clear and tell you this now. LeBron James talked about this last night, and I want you to hear what LeBron James had to say, because LeBron James, when he found out about this trade, he thought it was fake.
I mean, yeah, you got something important. I was out with my family at dinner and I got the news and the first time I heard it, I thought it was for sure fake. I thought it was a hoax. People messing around, whatever. But then when AD called me, AD FaceTimed me and I talked to him for quite a while. And even when I got off the phone with him, it still didn't seem real and it still pretty much didn't seem real. It didn't seem real until I saw Luka today and then I saw the clip of AD at the Dallas Shootaround. Yeah, and that raggedy ass Maverick T-shirt, the sweatshirt.
What a world, what a world. Today this trade is number five. In a couple of years, damn it, it could be number one, maybe. The Mavs sending Luka to the Lakers.
I got it at number five on my list. One of the worst trades ever. What's next?
Number four. Well, this trade did happen. It has already come to fruition. This is one of the worst trades ever. The Brooklyn Nets and their former owner, Mckay Prokoroff.
He was in such a rush. Take notes, Matt Ishbia, Phoenix Suns owner of NOW. He was in such a rush to make a splash that he said, yeah, we got Darren Williams, former All-Star. Yeah, we have Brook Lopez, former All-Star. You know what a really bad, we got Joe Johnson.
I saw Joe, former All-Star. You know what's really going to put us over the top? Adding two more All-Stars in future Hall of Famers, even though they're old, and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The Brooklyn Nets, they quote unquote shot their shot.
They went for it all. They did what the New York Jets tried to do. Let's bring in an aging star to help us win a championship. But no matter, let's bring in two of them, except they were all old and broken down and they didn't win anything. The Brooklyn Nets sent draft picks way down the line to the Celtics. You want to know what these draft picks ended up being? As Paul Pierce hit the dust and Kevin Garnett hit the dust and the bodies of Joe Johnson and Darren Williams hit the dust, the Brooklyn Nets. Hickey, how many championships did they win?
Zero. The Boston Celtics used the picks, future picks, four and five years later to select Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. Think about that. Old man Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were traded for Brown and Tatum. And Hickey helped me out because I'm kind of slow here. What did the Celtics do last year with Brown and Tatum? Uh, won a championship. Before this team, before the Celtics even won a championship, when Paul Pierce retired in 2017, he was on SportsCenter with Michael Williams and he was asking him, man, don't you think this, this trade was a terrible trade?
Listen to what Paul Pierce said. Can you admit, even though you were in it, that was one of the worst trades in NBA history, right? It was up there. You know, I was a little disappointed. I was a little disappointed. I mean that I left, but you know, Danny did what he needed to do for the franchise moving forward. And, uh, I'm happy for him. I mean, what team wins the Eastern conference and has the number one pick in the same year? It's almost unheard of. And you could also add that to your hall of fame resume and say, look how much I got.
I was on the right. One of the worst trades ever. They should get a consultant fee for that. Oh man. Yeah. That was one of the worst trades ever. Got that at number four on the list.
And I'm going to continue this list. I got to tell you this, as we keep going, Jimmy Butler has been traded to the golden state warriors. Now, is that going to be one of the worst trades ever? We're going to talk about it in a second. Some of the worst trades ever in the NBA. Before we get back to Jimmy Butler, I'm itching to get into that. Hey, number three on the list, worst trades ever. Listen to this one. The Boston Red Sox is sending Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees for you guessed it.
What? Not a player, but cash, straight cash. ESPN classic had a documentary explaining why the Red Sox moved Babe Ruth to the Yankees and were cursed forever. Harry frizzy, the owner of the Red Sox was in some financial pickle and needed money. And he started casting around looking for money. And suddenly down in New York, they came up with the cash and said, we'll give you the money if you'll give us Babe Ruth.
The money was there and he grabbed the money and sent the Babe South. I don't think Boston has recovered ever since. We know what happened with them Red Sox.
Okay. They won a championship in 1918 with Babe Ruth. They didn't win another championship until 2004. They were cursed. Babe Ruth to the Yankees, one of the worst trades of all time, just for some cash.
Babe Ruth won four titles, by the way. What's the next number? Number two.
Hey, this one is a couple of years ago. This is the reason that Miles Garrett wants out. The Browns trading everything for Deshaun Watson in 2022 is the second worst trade of all time. The Texans got three first round picks. The Browns got Deshaun Watson and their pandas got $230 million and one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my life. Andrew Berry, the Browns GM during Watson's introductory press conference before he tore his Achilles twice and had a broken shoulder and played like garbage and had the twenty five plus accusations of sexual assault. Well, this was after the sexual assault.
They didn't care about that. They still traded for him. He explained why he was worth the risk.
What? You know, once we got comfortable with Deshaun as a as a person to show on the person, it became pretty straightforward from, you know, from a football perspective. You know, we think he's one of the best players at the position in the sport. You know, he's obviously in his in his prime and we think it's the most important position in the sport.
So once we were able to get comfortable with him as a person, the football part in terms of valuation was pretty easy. No football player was broken. The person was broken. Now his body is broken and the Browns, as they have been forever, are broken. They'll be selecting a number two in the draft and a star player wants out.
It's the J.R. Sportbrie show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Jimmy Butler is on his way from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors. Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroeder, Kyle Anderson and a future first round pick are heading to Miami. Jimmy Butler on his way to the Golden State Warriors. We're going to talk about this on the other side of the break. I'm going to tell you the worst trade that we have ever seen in the history of sports.
We got a lot to get into. It's the J.R. Sportbrie show on the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the J.R. Sportbrie. It is the J.R. Sportbrie show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
Oh, there's so much going on right before the break. I told you that Jimmy Butler is no longer a member of the Miami Heat, and Jimmy Butler is on his way to the Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors send Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroeder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first round pick to Miami.
Jimmy Butler will now be playing with Steph Curry, Draymond Green and whatever the hell else they plan to slap together on that roster. Not impressed. I'm just being honest.
Not impressed. All things considered depth. We ought to see how it works out.
But just there's more. And I don't know what are the Miami Heat going to do? Think about the new Miami Heat team.
They got a lot of pieces. I don't know if all those guys fit together to Tyler Hero. You have Bam Adebayo. You have Andrew Wiggins. You got Kyle Anderson.
I got fits in anywhere. Dennis Schroeder. What is he doing? They just got a lot of pieces.
I don't know. Miami Heat wasn't winning anything this year with or without Jimmy Butler. He was just a complete pain in the ass. We'll talk more about that in a second. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. I just gave you a top six list. Some of the worst trades that we have ever seen in sports history. And number six, I said Gretzky going to the Kings.
And number five, there's still a lot to do. I told you the Dallas Mavericks sending Luka to LA. I told you at number four, the Brooklyn Nets sending, well, their draft picks, all of them, to Boston to bring in a Paul Pierce and a Kevin Garnett who are old, done and past their primes. What did those picks turn out to be?
Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. The Celtics won a championship and the Brooklyn Nets, even a generation later, they are still garbage. Worst trades ever. Number three, the Boston Red Sox sending Babe Ruth to the Yankees for cash because they was Poe. They couldn't afford the O.R. Top six worst drafts ever. And number two, I gave you the Browns.
Yeah, what they did with Deshaun Watson. Despicable. Terrible. Stupid. And if I got that at number two on the list, two hundred and thirty, two hundred and thirty guaranteed dollars and trading away three draft picks for a pervert who can never play or be healthy, what is worse than that?
What number we up to? Worst trade in sports history. It relates to the Dallas Cowboys.
It relates to the Minnesota Vikings. Herschel Walker was already playing for a crap Dallas Cowboys team, even after Dorsett left. The team was still garbage. Minnesota Vikings, they thought that by bringing in Herschel Walker in nineteen eighty nine that they'd get a championship.
It did not happen. Herschel Walker didn't even play more than three full seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He didn't even rush for another one thousand yards. He basically went into obscurity. I remember watching this guy play for the Giants and I'm like, what the hell is this great player now?
Nothing. What happened to the Dallas Cowboys after they got Herschel Walker? Well, things turned around. They had six draft picks. It turned into a guy, one of them named Darren Woodson. Kevin Smith, Russell Maryland and another guy.
How about you may have heard of this one? His name is Emmett Smith. And the last time I checked? Yeah, only a couple of seasons later. They went from being absolute garbage to going to the Super Bowl with Aikman and Smith. The Dallas Cowboys were able to flip those picks with Herschel Walker. The Minnesota Vikings thought that they were going to win. No, this was the last time the Dallas Cowboys were worth a damn and were able to start their dynasty.
Listen to this. This is NFL Films and Emmett Smith saying, man, we went from worst to first. Never dreamt that we would be in the Super Bowl that soon, but the experience was unbelievable. Six years prior to me being at that Super Bowl, me and my best friend from high school was sitting up in the stadium watching the Giants play the Denver Broncos. And I recall sharing with him one of these days I was going to play in the Super Bowl and it was going to be in that stadium. Little did I know, six years later, I'd be sitting in Pasadena, California in the Rose Bowl stadium playing against the Buffalo Bills in my very first Super Bowl, let alone winning it. So it was a tremendous experience for me. Yeah, Herschel Walker went to Minnesota, career floundered from there. Dallas Cowboys, they were able to start a dynasty.
I got that as the worst trade in sports history. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. We're going to take a break.
The phone lines are open if you want to give me a holler. You can call me about the top six. You can call me about this big trade that just went down in the NBA. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.
It is the JR Sport Brief show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We just heard this in the break. Jimmy Butler is on his way to the Golden State Warriors. After a month, after more than a month, after three suspensions, after being a complete pain in the ass, after throwing his teammates under the bus, after complaining about not having joy. And we all knew this was all about money for Jimmy Butler. And apparently, Jimmy Butler isn't just going to the Golden State Warriors. A team that a few days ago was all rumor and conjecture, but we heard that he didn't want to go to the Warriors because he knew the Suns were the team that really, really wanted him. And they were going to give him an extension.
They were the only team that was going to pay him. Jimmy Butler got himself a contract extension. Two years, one hundred and twenty one million dollar contract extension with Golden State through twenty twenty seven.
His contract aligns with somebody else signed through twenty twenty seven. That guy's name is Steph Curry. The Golden State is Steph Curry. The Golden State Warriors was so desperate that they brought on a guy who just won and complained his way off of yet another team. Maybe Jimmy Butler won't complain at the end of this contract because he'll be too old, too broken.
And then maybe at that point, he can't hustle any more money out of anybody else. The Golden State Warriors found themselves a sucker and Jimmy Butler. And for a dude who has really only been motivated to play in the postseason alongside Draymond Green and filling out the rest of that roster, maybe they can still be competitive.
But you want to know what doesn't necessarily always work? Aging players in the NBA. Jimmy Butler might have gotten what he wants in regards to money. I'm not so sure unless they fill out the rest of the roster, especially given Jimmy Butler's own injury history. And I don't think Draymond is going to get better as he gets older as Steph Curry.
God bless him. He got a little bit of help here with Jimmy Butler, but a bunch of dudes on the other side of 30 competing for a championship. You all better hope Steph Curry doesn't continue to decline. Yes, he's still amazing. He ain't going to be amazing forever. In a a superstar, a whiny one, when things don't work like Jimmy Butler. The Warriors were just desperate to maximize whatever the hell they could get to help Steph Curry.
I feel bad for Steph Curry that they couldn't do better. But congrats, Jimmy, you got paid. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. Doug is here. Doug is calling from Wisconsin. You're on the JR sport re-show. Doug, what's up? Hey, JR. I love the show.
You're right in a good time slot that I listen to you all the time. And you covered the Jimmy Butler. I didn't know he signed that.
He's going to sign a contract extension. But where does Dick giving away all his draft picks for Ricky Williams rank? Is that up in the top 10? Oh, my God. Oh, with the Saints in Miami? Yeah, the Saints and Ricky Williams. I got to be.
That is a terrible trade. I got to be honest. I didn't. I didn't consider that. I don't do a top 10.
I do a six. I know. I know that it probably didn't warrant the top six.
So but it was pretty disastrous in its own right. No, no. Well, I said there's more than six. I just don't get these trades. You know, I understand. I'm a Bucks fan. I'm glad we got one championship with Giannis because it's just really hard to get more than one. And I just don't know, you know, I understand the salary of Chris Middleton. You know, I'm good with that. Hopefully Kuzma can find some energy just like Jimmy Butler does when he gets a new contract.
He usually does pretty good first couple of years, right? Well, did you just say Kuzma? You know who I'm talking about. Kuzma. Oh, Kyle Kuzma. Oh, he sucks. Yeah, to the Bucks. Yeah, but he ain't no All-Star.
He doesn't have enough clout to run around. I know they dump milk and salary. I know that. I know what it is for what it is.
And I don't see him doing anything else. You know, but okay. Well, Doug, you sound sad. Are you sad about are you? Are you sure you are not a Mavericks fan instead of a Bucks fan? No, I love Giannis. It's great.
It's great. You know, and but I just don't you don't see us doing anything this year. You live in Wisconsin. I agree.
I agree. Don't expect it. You live in Wisconsin. You like beer? I'm I've had a beer tonight.
I'm sure I can tell have another one. And don't worry. It's fine, Doug.
You won a championship a few years ago. Don't worry. I'm off work for the week, so I'm good. So okay, have another beer then have three.
Just thank you. Hickey, I can always tell. I can always tell Hickey. The one just with one beer, you can tell, huh? I can tell. It's kind of crazy, though. This man, what would he be doing if he was a fan of the Dallas Mavericks? What would the hell he be doing? Tequila.
Oh, my God. And you graduate off the beer very quickly when that trade goes down. Yeah, that's kind of wild. And he mentioned Ricky Williams. And when Mike Ditka basically traded the entire world to bring him over to the Saints. And we know what happened with Ricky Williams. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.
That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. I just gave you a top six list of some of the worst trades that we have ever seen in the world of sports. And at the same damn time, we have learned that Jimmy Butler is on his way from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors, who have now also given him a two year contract extension worth one hundred and twenty one million dollars. This is what Jimmy Butler wanted the whole damn time. Alan is here from Toronto.
You are on the J.R. sport brief show. What's going on, Alan? Yeah, this guy is a real an absolute mental case. He's every bit as bad as Albert Bell, Antonio Brown going to Oakland, which Oakland thought was a pretty good deal. And he didn't play. He quit on the Steelers in 2018, and he missed a training camp with frostbite on his feet after failing to wear proper footwear. And he refused to adapt to wearing a helmet and the requirements. And he didn't play again. And he was released by the both by the year.
The way he was released by the Raiders before he played a game. Go ahead, Alan. So and altercation, this guy, you know, he was on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Very, very talented. One of the best in the business. And look what happened to him. Yeah, well, you're not lying, Alan.
I don't want to go as far as a court. Well, you know, I will I will be kind. I will try to be kind because I haven't necessarily had the best interactions with him outside of anything related to my job. He has he's had he's had life issues, OK? And so I wish that guy nothing but the best.
But you are correct. The Raiders bringing him on and this man never playing a game for them because of the issues that you detail. Not a surprise, not a shock. Alan, I appreciate you for calling from Toronto. Yeah, he said too bad we didn't know what he could have been.
You know, he was his own worst enemy, wasn't he? Well, Alan, those people are walking the streets all over the place, aren't we? Yeah, you're right.
Yeah, there's all kinds of them. Thank you, Alan. You warm in Toronto? What's the temperature?
Go ahead. It's it's going to be very cold now. It's still way minus 10.
It's a lot worse than Atlanta, that's for sure. Oh, it was 75 degrees Fahrenheit here. Yeah. Oh, great. Yeah. Why aren't you here?
Don't you drive to America quite frequently or are you banned now? Yeah. Yeah, I go. I was just there. I was in Buffalo. As a matter of fact, Sunday, I went to a Buffalo Sabres game against New Jersey. OK, I was going to say I see the bills play quite a bit.
Yeah, I was going to say it wasn't the bills that you saw. Wait, how was that? How's that trip crossing, driving across and going across the river and all that, man? Like, well, it depends what what time of day you go. It's usually about a 10 or 15 minute wait crossing over the Peach Bridge. That's it?
Yeah. And when you try to when you try to come over, what do they ask you? What do they do? What do they say to you? They just ask me if I'm importing anything, that's all. And I tell them I'm just taking a bottle of water and that's it, you know, because you have to declare everything. And sometimes I have a canister of gas, too. One time I found it. They found a canister of gas in the car and they find me after.
Oh, that's all they find you. That's all they did? Yeah. Yeah. Because I was going through a tunnel and they said the whole tunnel could blow up.
You know, they exaggerated a little bit. OK. All right, Alan. Well, thank you for bringing your amazing sports takes to North America and your imported gas. You better be careful.
We hit you with them tariffs next time. OK. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. OK. Thank you. OK. Be careful, Alan. Thank you.
Oh, cheers. OK. We got to be careful. Alan, but Alan better be careful. He better you better watch it. Well, you're afraid that he's not going to be allowed back into his native country or vice versa. I don't know if we'll let him back in. Yeah.
This day and age, I don't know. Hey, what's your last Sabers game? You got gasoline in the back, which you got an extra can of gas. Well, what are you doing? I'm just going to watch the Buffalo Bills. You're going to light a table on fire.
So what are you doing? Exactly. I just in case I run out of gas, you know, I don't want to I want to use your American gas. I have my own from Canada. This bad boy's Canadian fueled only. Sir, step out of the car. It's just it's one of those real things. Sir, just step out of the vehicle, please.
What a guy. Hey, thank you, Alan, for calling from Toronto. As I sit here and watch this basketball, this basketball, this is like a normal Atlanta Hawks experience. They were down like a million points to the San Antonio Spurs.
The now in the third quarter, it's 93 to 90, 94 to 90. What a what a wild day. Hickey, I got to admit, I didn't want Jimmy Butler to get what he wants. And I feel Hickey.
I feel so bad. I like Steph Curry. I like rooting for Steph Curry.
The Golden State Warriors now have two of the most, how can I say this? Dislike players in the entire NBA. They have one of the most likable players that the league has ever seen. They have one of their most likable stars and Steph Curry and Steph Curry is now playing with two jackasses, one in Draymond Green and another guy in Jimmy Butler. I had no problem with Duran on the Warriors.
I had no problem with none of that. Super team this so unlikable that hate their guts. This I am going to be rooting against Jimmy Butler and the Warriors. I hate to say it because I love Steph Curry. Not anymore, man.
Them days are over. Jimmy Butler on his way to the Golden State Warriors and not just traded there. Jimmy Butler getting a two year contract extension beyond this year. Two years, one hundred and twenty one million dollars. Jimmy Butler cried.
He pouted and he got paid. Glad the taxes are high in California. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. I'm going to take your calls on this. Is Jimmy Butler to the Warriors a good move? Is it a good thing? We'll talk about it more on the other side. It's the J.R. Sportbrief Show.
