AutoTrader. Here's why April chose to vaccinate her child. I think actually meeting someone who was not vaccinated and now has a lifelong struggle with a childhood disease really cemented for me that it's super important that we as parents continue to vaccinate our children.

Talk to your pediatrician or visit YVaccines.com. Brought to you by Merck. Our daughter, Jessie, loves playing detective. A clue! But since we discovered she has sensitive skin, we've been playing detective too. We thought the problem was our puppy. But it was actually our old detergent.

Aha! So we switched to Tide Free and Gentle. Tide Clean's better than the leading competitive free detergent and it doesn't leave behind irritating residues. Plus, Tide Free and Gentle has no dyes or perfumes, so it's gentle on her skin. Case closed.

If it's got to be clean, it's got to be Tide Free and Gentle. It is! The JR Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Happy Friday to you. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, I hope you're good. I hope you're safe. I hope you're well. And if not, let me help you out for the next hour.

Cause I only got one more hour and they ain't going to tell me to shut up and leave. Sorry. This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern. 3 Pacific. Thank you so much to Super Producer and Host Ryan Hickey. He's in New York City.

You? You can listen on the free Odyssey app. It's free. You can lock in on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. Wherever you live. I don't know where you live. That's your business.

I'm not tracking you. You can also listen on Sirius XM channel 158. Do you have Sirius? Good. You got money. Thank you to everybody tuned in on a smart speaker. You also got money.

Because on a smart speaker, all you got to do is ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. What a day. What a day.

What a day. NFL preseason is going on. Tonight, tomorrow, Sunday. The Olympics are coming to a close. We got Team USA basketball. The men are going for gold tomorrow. The women are going for gold on Sunday. I think the women will be good. They will also be playing France just like the men. Team USA women. If they won the gold on Sunday, which they should.

This will be 61 consecutive victories. I mean, damn. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, but could we not just throw Kaitlyn Clark and Anjurisa Bone? Here, play. Let's just send them out there. Anyway, this is going to be so difficult. We need to build the best team to beat the best women in the world.

They're beating everybody by like 20 points. Spare me, save me. Come on now.

Sheesh. We had breakdancing make its debut on the Olympics today. People are making fun of it online. I'm like, come on now. Breakdancing is competitive? I mean, I grew up in the Bronx. I know competition when I see one.

Come on. And Team USA women, they won the relay. Sha'Carri Richardson, she was the anchor. A matter of fact, let's listen to some winners. Because Team USA, the women, they won the relay.

Take a listen to this. Great Britain out front. They will hand off first. Amy Hunt is making the exchange to Della Nita. Here comes Sha'Carri Richardson.

Look to the far side. Sha'Carri's got them covered. All the way to the line. USA wins gold. Yeah, good for them.

That's good. The men, the men got disqualified. You can't win it all either. You can't win everything, right? I mean, we're so used to winning here in the United States of America. Like, we're spoiled.

The gentleman who won in Botswana, Tobogo, where he won the 200 meter yesterday, beat Noah Lyles. We talked about this earlier in the show. In Botswana, they got a half day off from work today. In the whole country, the beer is half off as well.

I guess the government is paying for it. I mean, come on. Pretty amazing. So used to winning. Good luck to Team USA tomorrow. Hickey, they're beating France, right? They're beating them? They are beating them.

Screw you, French. OK. And the women are going to win on Sunday? Oh, yeah.

No brainer. And then the Olympics are done. Are you sad that the Olympics are coming to a close? I am.

I am. I love the Olympics. I think it's fun watching different sports and it feels, I feel like every time it just flies by.

You feel sad that the Olympics, what are you going to do now? We just got to wait for the regular season? Yeah, I'm not watching preseason, that's for sure. Do you think the Dallas Cowboys are going to give anybody a contract between now and the season start?

Yes, I think so. They have to. CD Lamb gets a contract the day before the season, right? I would say between the last preseason game and week one.

I mean, that's a long stretch. I'll say a week before the season. Jerry Jones did all that nonsense talking yesterday.

He's like, oh, yeah, I'm in no rush. And then the sun spoke as well. Stephen Jones from yesterday, I want you to hear this. He was on the Dunes Day podcast and he said that he hopes CD Lamb gets a new contract real soon. Well, man, do something about it.

Listen to this. You know, our negotiation with CD, we just knew we had that roster spot when he reports, which we certainly believe he will at some point and hopefully with a new contract. But, you know, we continue to make progress. Things are very cordial with both players. You know, we've got a challenging situation. It's a great situation to have, but it's challenging when you have one of the top quarterbacks in the league and then you've got two of the best non-quarterback players in the league, a pass rusher, Micah Parsons and CD Lamb. And, you know, we believe that as well, that they're two of the top nine quarterback players in this league. So, you know, it's a negotiation that we're obviously, you know, having to work hard at it because you also, you know, at the end of the day, want to be able to put some other players. Those three guys can't go out and play the game by themselves. So, we've just got to continue to work at it.

I feel good about it and we'll continue, you know, to work with Dak and his representatives and CD and his representatives. Hickey, unfortunately, he sounds like his dad. Well, not he doesn't sound like his dad all the way there.

He's not all the way there sounding like his dad, but he has the let me blow VA and say a lot of nothing. He has that part down. Oh, absolutely.

I mean, that was just a minute long answer that could have been 15, 20 seconds. Hey, we hope to get CD extended. We're working really hard and hopefully it comes to fruition. Oh, man. Just full of it.

You know what? In about 15 minutes, we're going to have a chat with Mike Leslie. He's a sports anchor for WFAA in Dallas. I'm going to ask him about these Cowboys.

I want to get the realistic view. Like, people are real hyped about everything going on with the Texans. I mean, people in Houston are making fun of the Dallas Cowboys. They're making fun of them. People are saying that nobody is showing up to the practices out in Oxnard, California. I mean, even Emmitt Smith, Emmitt Smith, he was on the blogging with the boys podcast, and Emmitt Smith he said, I understand why our fans are not showing up to support the Cowboys. Over the last 20 some odd years, watching our team get to the playoff time and time again, be told that we're going to do better, we're going to be in it, we're going to, this is going to be a Super Bowl year for us, and we just get completely let down. It's like fan fatigue now. I mean, it's all of that going on right now.

And people are sick and tired of watching it. And they want to see something different. And we have to try, as an organization, we have to go and do a complete assessment in terms of the organization itself. What is our mission? And how does our mission align with the football team? On the surface, we would think everything is in alignment. But to me, I think there's a little disconnect there.

And we need to resolve that fairly quickly because 20 some odd years, man, that's a long time. You know what I appreciate about Emmitt Smith? He tells the truth.

Like, Emmitt Smith, I mean, I've spoken to Emmitt quite a few times here on the JR Sport show. He don't hold nothing back. He comes from a fan perspective. He ain't kissing ass.

He's not carrying JR Jones bags. Emmitt Smith, he tells the truth. And that I appreciate. And so we'll have that chat with Mike Leslie. He's going to come through and join us now in a little more than, you know, 10, 12 minutes.

So don't go too far. We'll get some real answers when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Now, we've done a lot of talking about some of these other quarterbacks who have played and not played.

Thank you so much. Lynell Willingham has joined us from 106.7, the fan earlier in the show. We talked about Washington, the commanders. It's like a brand new football team. Jaden Daniels, you have a new owner in Josh Harris. You have a new head coach in Dan Quinn. There's room and reason for optimism in D.C. And just last year, and this is some news because he's actually going to play. Anthony Richardson is going to be in action this upcoming Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts open up their preseason against the Denver Broncos. Yes, everyone will have a chance to see, I guess, Stidham and Bo Nix, but more importantly, Anthony Richardson will be out there trying to make it through a whole game. His head coach, Shane Steichen, Shane Steichen, let everybody know, yeah, he going to play and he's excited to do so.

Listen to this. He's very excited. I can't wait. I'm happy for him to get back out there. It's been a long process for him going through his rehab, but he's attacked it the right way every day and so to get him back out there with the guys on Sunday is going to be awesome. Get him back out there with the guys.

Oh my God. Last time I saw this guy hanging out there with the guys. Hickey, was it still October? It was October, right? Early October? Early October, week five to be exact.

Oh my God. This guy, it's like every week something new. It's his knee, then it's his head, and then he blew out his shoulder, and then that was it? We didn't see any more of Anthony Richardson. The man played four games. That's it. They're so confident in him that they got an insurance policy and Joe Flacco who are there paying $8 million to be the backup.

Must be a nice life. $8 million to stand there on the side and just go, is he hurt? Is he hurt? Is he hurt?

Anthony Richardson, a physical freak who needs to stay healthy for the Indianapolis Colts to do anything. He also said he's excited to play, even though he'll play, I don't know, a series or two? A quarter?

I don't know. Listen to this. It'll be great. I'll get to run out in front of the supporters and the fans again. They can see me live in effect once again.

It's a blessing. I'm thankful that Coach Sainz let me play this game. I get to go out there and make a few plays. Make a few plays. Do we know how long he's going to play?

A series or two? Oh yeah, come on now. If he throws a touchdown to A.D. Mitchell, they're good, right? Everybody go home happy? Yes.

Oh, no doubt about it. Are you concerned? How long?

Josh Downs got a high ankle sprain. What is that going to be? Two months? A month? I said four to six weeks. Yep.

A month and a half. How about that? Not great. Not great to start.

Not great at all. You know, I guess there is room for optimism. The Colts have picked up some good young players over the past few years. Anthony Richardson, if he plays.

Here's the thing. We don't even know if he's going to be good, Hickey, because we've seen him in such a small sample size. You would think that, and I'm like, hey, you got Jonathan Taylor. He's going to anchor the offense. Anthony Richardson not expected to do a lot.

And then Anthony Richardson still got hurt. They re-signed Michael Pittman Jr. They draft A.D. Mitchell. They bring in Joe Flacco as insurance on the defensive side of the ball.

They bring in Latu Latu. And how's his knees holding up? He's good so far? So far, so good.

Hickey, they might have the same nod. I think they're going to be worse than last year. Worse? Yeah, nine games? Nine games last year? They were nine and eight last year.

I think they'll flip flop. Eight and nine. Wow. Damn. Realistically, how many games is Anthony Richardson?

Come on, be real with me, Hickey. Be real. He's going to be healthy. I said 17. I will stick with 17.

Oh my God. You think he's playing every game? The only chance he doesn't play all 17 is if the Colts have the first round by locked up by week 18. They sit him. You think?

Oh, that means things are going to be so slimmy. You think that we will not see Joe Flacco this year? Starting? No. Mop up duty when the Colts are 40 to 3?

Oh no. Yeah, he'll come in for a few snaps. Joe Flacco is going to run, how old is this man now? 40?

He's going to be 40 in January. Really? Him and LeBron, yep. Wow. Him and LeBron. He's only, LeBron, I'm looking at it, LeBron James is three inches taller than him. Wow.

Yeah. Joe Flacco's 6'6". He's going to take his old, tall ass out there. Because the young guy couldn't get the job done. Couldn't stay healthy.

Didn't know how to move out the way. Dropping the shoulder again. I hope he stays healthy. I don't know why. I just have no faith in him. I wish I did.

I would love to say, hey, I'm going to see Anthony Richardson playing for the next five years. I just don't think it's going to work. I hope I'm wrong. I hope I am. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. Yeah, I mean, with the Olympics wrapping up, the NFL is about to go prime time. Come on, that's it, folks. After the United States of America beats France tomorrow, after the women beat France on Sunday, that's it.

What are we going to do? Focus in on baseball? Hickey, what's the biggest baseball story right now?

Tell me. The White Sox? Losers?

The Braves are losing a lot. That's a story line. That's a big story.

Yeah, they stink. Oh, come on. The Braves got a better story right now. They're going to play a baseball game in Bristol in the Motor Speedway next year. That's a big story. That is.

That's pretty cool. They're going to build a baseball. They can build a baseball stadium anyway, can't they, huh? Just, I mean, middle of a cornfield, middle of a racetrack.

Where else? I don't know what's next, but. All you got to do is throw down grass. And a fence.

You're right. Throw down grass, a fence, and some dirt. You're good.

Baseball field. Some walls. Nothing else.

No, what else do you need? Nothing, right? That's it. Dirt, grass, sod, and walls. And you can make a wall out of anything.

True. What's that stuff? Plywood? Remember the Twins used to have like that like cellophane wall back in the old Metrodome days. You can make a wall out of anything.

Wow. Remember that? That big blue ugly wall. It was a tarp. It was like a, it was a tarp. You run into it.

You shot you back out the other way. Man, some of the places that they played, I mean, everything is so modern now. The Cleveland Browns haven't even played in their place like 30 years yet.

Never won a playoff game. They want to put them in a dome so they can have Final Fours and stuff. Look at that.

Come on. They're doing too much. Pay for it. You pay for it. Don't make them people in Cleveland pay for a new stadium.

You do it. I'm an advocate for the people. Make the people with the money pay.

Not available in all states. You know, unfortunately what else is new? We've had a lot of conversations about the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones leading the way saying funny things, hahaha.

His son saying things to, I don't know, even out his dad. Players responding on social media about their contract status. Dak Prescott with sore ankles.

It just goes on and on and on. The talk about the Dallas Cowboys what we might be able to see over the next few weeks, the next month, over the next winter time. Joining us is Mike Leslie who covers the Cowboys in everything Dallas sports on WFAA in Dallas. Mike, how are you? I'm good. How you doing?

I'm great. Thank you for taking the time to join us. You're quite busy with these Cowboys, huh? Never a dull day. That is always the case here in Dallas.

It doesn't matter if it's February, April, September, whatever. This is life with the Cowboys. Life with the Cowboys. Well, around 24 hours ago we heard from Jerry Jones that there is no urgency in signing CeeDee Lamb.

CeeDee Lamb's response was to post an LOL, laugh out loud. We also heard from his son Steven yesterday who wanted to tell everybody they would love to get a deal done. What's your understanding of what is likely to happen? They're going to sign him before the season starts, right? There's about a 0% chance that they don't sign him before the season starts, yes. Maybe I'm jaded. I'm going into year 10 covering this team. None of this really gets me all that excited anymore.

This is just kind of how things go around here. Yes, they're going to sign him. Yes, it will probably happen before they even come back to Dallas.

Certainly it's not going to get into September. And he's been working out in Houston, staying in shape, ready to play. He and Dak have a rapport beyond reproach. They've been working together all offseason.

Give these guys two weeks together in practice and they'll be ready to go for week one. I'm really not all that concerned. It's a whole bunch of bluster. It's a bunch of negotiating in public on both sides.

At some point they'll come to a number. The Cowboys are costing themselves money in all of this. If they had done this in March, they probably would have gotten CD for two to three million dollars a year less than what they'll probably end up signing him for. It's not great business strategy from Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. But yeah, this is much ado about nothing and August contract squabbles that really won't amount to much.

Mike, that was going to be my next question. We know that Justin Jefferson got $35 million. I think that the numbers for Korea are pretty comparable to a certain degree for the two of them. What has been the holdup?

Are they nickel and diamond? We all know the range of what the contract is going to be. What could they potentially be squabbling about?

That's a lot of what I think is behind CD's, well yesterday of John Machoda's tweet, because you're right. What really is there to discuss here? He is very clearly one of the very best wide receivers in the NFL.

If not on par with Justin Jefferson, right there. So what's the issue? What is the holdup other than the fact that the Cowboys just always seem to do this? They did this with Dak Prescott years ago and cost themselves money. They're doing it again right now with Dak Prescott and costing themselves money. They will assuredly end up doing this with Micah Parsons.

They kind of already are, although that's going to really be next season's storyline for the most part. This is just for whatever reason what they do. It's interesting because they are held up as this beacon of this is how you make money in the NFL and they're the most valuable franchise in sports. Jerry Jones is this savvy businessman and they do this and they do that.

And then you look at the actual brass tax of what they spend on their football team and they're 32 out of 32 in cash spend. They don't actually spend the money that people think they do and they get themselves into these, they get themselves tied up in knots and they end up costing themselves money on the back end when they could have done Dak earlier this offseason, they could have done CD earlier this offseason and they probably would have been in a better financial position to do it and they probably could have gone and gotten somebody else if they had because their salary cap scenario would have been better as well. Again, this is not good business by the Cowboys, but I'm also not concerned as it relates to will CD land be on the field week one?

Yes, absolutely. Mike Leslie is joining us from WFAA out in Dallas. Now we learned today that Dak Prescott had to slow down and practice, had to sit out due to sore ankles. The last time I saw this guy's ankle well, he was in a boot on vacation and had to explain it because he worked too hard. The last time I really paid more attention to his ankle he had a little bit of a calf issue related to his broken ankle. And the last time before I looked at his ankle was the time that it actually broke a few years ago. Is there any cause for concern about how he's going to hold up, how his legs are going to hold up throughout the year? This is a little weird.

I will admit to you this is weird. Because if it were just hey, this is maintenance, a little bit sore, let's let him stay off of it for a day. If that were really all this was, he probably would have been out there on the practice field with his guys and just watching Trey Lance and Cooper Rush go through practice and still taking in the mental reps and still being a part of like we see with so many other cowboys. Deuce Vaughn's had a hamstring the last couple of weeks. He's been out there on the practice field on the days where they've decided it's not smart for him to go and he's just there taking in the mental reps and being a part of practice in whatever way he can.

Working with Britt Brown, their assistant athletic trainer, on the side on the resistance cords or whatever the case may be. Trevon Diggs, another good example of this where he's bounced back and forth between active and practice and hey let's take it slow today, whatever the case may be. His complete absence from practice coinciding with Jerry Jones wasn't there, Stephen Jones wasn't there, Will McClay wasn't there, Todd Williams wasn't there, guys that are very influential in the cowboys' brass. All these guys weren't at practice today and it's caused everybody to kind of go, okay something else is going on here and maybe it is, hey we're finally hammering this thing out and maybe we're about to learn that they did finally come to an agreement on a contract or whatever. But they're also off tomorrow. They've got the game on Saturday that Dak's not going to play in.

They're off on Monday. There was time to do this that wouldn't have impacted a practice so it's hard to really make heads or tails of this one. To your original question of do I think he's going to be fine from a health perspective, I do. He looked perfectly fine in practice on Thursday in a joint practice against the Rams. If there was an issue here that was actually fundamentally of concern like with Trevon Diggs coming off an ACL tear, they did not have Diggs take part in that practice because they can trust their own guys more than they can trust the Rams players to not put Trevon Diggs at risk.

Dak was out there practicing against the Rams. So whatever this concern is, I do think if it's actually an injury concern and not just a cover for hey we're all in a back room hammering out a contract, if this is an actual injury concern I don't think it's a big one. Well Mike do you think he's going to play out this year and reach free agency? I know you said it's a possibility they're hammering out a deal.

What do you think? Is he going to lame duck this out? That is fascinating to me. The idea that he could play this final year and hit the open market would be the ultimate in, like I was talking about before, the Cowboys. This is just kind of what they do.

They drag their feet on these things and end up costing themselves money. This would be the coup de grace of doing that because he will make a boatload of money on the open market just like we saw Kirk Cousins do several years ago when he left Washington when they franchise tagged him back to back years and I don't think I'm telling any secrets out of school that Kirk Cousins is not some earth shattering quarterback. He's just a good quarterback in this league and he broke the bank and reset the quarterback market when he went to Minnesota. Dak Prescott for all his playoff failings is a more accomplished NFL quarterback than Kirk Cousins is and there are several quarterback poor franchises across the NFL. If Dak Prescott hits the open market, whether it's in Dallas or somewhere else, he will completely obliterate the quarterback market and people are going to go, what in the world are they spending that much money on him for? It's because he's played this game to the point where now he's put himself in the catbird seat and he has all the cards.

Mike Leslie is joining us from WFAA in Dallas. Knowing that the Cowboys are always in these interesting situations, the off season certainly not exciting by any stretch of the imagination, bringing back Zeke Elliott seemed to be their big splash. Knowing that they're competing in the division, you know with one of the top contenders you would think, the Eagles.

The Giants are trying to get their lives together and so are the commanders. The Cowboys, they should be a good team. What do you expect from them this upcoming season?

Yeah, I do think that we've chickened a little ourselves into a little more than what's actually reality here. They did not get better this offseason. No two ways about it and I think it is a fair argument to say they got worse. They lost Tyron Smith, a bajillion time All-Pro. They lost Tony Pollard. They've gotten worse at the running back position. I think their defense can probably be about the same as what we saw last year. Plug in Trevon Diggs in place of Stephon Gilmore. I think the defense is going to be fine and there is still talent on the offensive side of the ball, especially once you do insert C.D.

Lamb back into their wide receiver core. So I do think that there is still talent there enough that they're going to be good. I do not think there's any reason for any Cowboys fan to look at this team with any sort of confidence that, hey, this year is going to be different.

There's nothing there to grab it. I wish the fans had a little bit more optimism. Well, I can't blame them. And we've heard this. We've even heard Emmitt Smith kind of put in his two cents.

Is this a reality? Are the fans, have they not showed up to the same degree out in Oxnard? Yeah, that was one of the real storylines of the first week or so of practice. We all noticed it and talked about it a little bit the very first two practices.

Thursday, Friday, late July. But they were the first two practices. And it's, hey, this is glorified, two-hand touch, underwear Olympics.

There's nothing really all that interesting about it anyway, so let's see. And then Saturday for the opening ceremonies practice, here they came. And we all kind of went, OK, all right, that makes sense. They're back, whatever. And then Sunday was light, Tuesday was light, and Tuesday was where all of them, Tuesday was the first day of pads. And we're like, OK, this is the first day of pads, and there's nobody here. What is going on? And that was where we finally started to cross that bridge of not just talking about it amongst ourselves, but yeah, no, this is a story now.

And it really hasn't changed all that much, even with it being talked about. And the thing to me that is most interesting about the fact that myself, we talked about John Michaud earlier with his tweet that CeeDee Lamb posted, several of us posted pictures and videos of the lack of fans that day. And a lot of the reaction to those posts was Cowboys fans cheering on other Cowboys fans saying, yes, stick it to them, show them that we're not happy. That's where Cowboys fans are right now. Well, we'll see if it translates into AT&T Stadium. I mean, if that place starts looking sparse, then we had a different conversation there.

Wild stuff. Well, Mike, thank you so much for taking the time to join us. Where can people follow you and your work on WFAA if they're not in the metroplex full of scent? Yeah, social media is definitely the best place to find me. My Facebook account, Twitter account, Mike Leslie WFAA, on Facebook is just my name, Mike Leslie, L-E-F-L-I-E, and then certainly WFAA.com as well.

So yeah, for anybody around the country, there's certainly plenty of Cowboys fans all over the place. That's Facebook page is probably the best place to find me. Hey, Mike, thank you so much for taking the time. I know you're going to be kept busy all season long. Oh, for sure. We'll catch you down the line. Thank you.

Thanks, guys. No doubt about it. That Mike Leslie from WFAA. Yeah, the optimism has certainly waned here with the Dallas Cowboys. To even think it's a reality that you have less fans showing up to see them practice, it's supposed to be the hottest ticket in the entire country when it comes down to training camp.

And even their fans are saying, screw this. What a world. What a world.

What a world. It's the JR Sportbreeze Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Speaking of what a world, we spent a couple of days this week talking about Jim Harbaugh and his punishment from the NCAA, even though he's now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. Well, it appears that Jim Harbaugh is getting ready to stick it to the NCAA. Looks like he's going to show up back at Michigan.

I'll explain on the other side of the break. Of course, we're going to take you through the world of sports and go back in time. A few things that took place this day in sports history. It's still August 9th.

Christy Pierce-Rampone here, former member of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, three-time gold medalist, two-time World Cup champion, and part of the 99 team that won the Women's World Cup, igniting passion for soccer everywhere. That's amazon.com slash prime.

Okay, you can do this. I know, I know. Carvanha makes it so convenient to sell your car. It's just hard to let go.

Man, time flies when you're having fun, right? We talked about the Olympics, basketball, track and field, break dancing. We talked about the Cowboys, the Washington football team.

Better known as the commanders. Made fun of Joel Embiid. Made a joke about playing for Cameroon. That's what he said, not me.

I didn't say it. We talked about some pre-season. I see that Justin Fields has had some trouble handling the football today. He's looked good.

He's looked bad. Same old, same old. We talked about Anthony Richardson. Man, what a day. And then you heard Marco Belletti. Got ahead of my tease.

Thank you, Marco. Jim Harbaugh, this man has gotten in trouble. NCAA is like, hey, we're going to suspend you for a game and put you on probation if you come back to coaching.

And he's not even there. And so what is the response from Michigan? They're going to have him as the honorary captain when they take on Fresno State. You've got to be kidding me.

They're going to have this. This man is leaving Los Angeles. He is leaving the Chargers temporarily to show up and clap and wave and stick it to the NCAA. I find it hilarious. A matter of fact, Ward Manuel, the boss man, the athletic director, he pretty much said this on the one-star recruit.

Hickey, what type of name is this? One-star recruit podcast? I mean, accurate, right? They losers? Well, if you're doing a podcast, most likely you're not an athlete. Clever guy. Well, no, so many athletes do podcasts. I said most likely.

Most. Well, listen to Ward Manuel. He's busy. I've been busy. So to be frank, we didn't text a lot when he was here. You know, we called each other when we needed to. And if he calls, I'll pick up. And if I call him, I'm sure he'll pick up.

And that's just the way the relationship is. But I know he's really busy. And so, and he knows I'm busy.

So we just keep, when we need to speak to each other, we will. And I look forward to seeing him in September. He's going to be an honorary captain for our first game.

And I look forward to having him back here in Ann Arbor for that game. Honorary captain. Hickey, is this not the biggest F you they could give him?

It is. And I give him a lot of credit for it. Like, what is he going to do? Come through with a big old flag and stand there for a coin toss and is he going to wear a shirt that says F-U-N-C-A-A? Like, what is he going to do? Might as well.

What are they going to do? Oh my goodness. You can't make this stuff up.

You can't. What a world. What a world. What a world. Hey, how about something else you can't make up? We learned this today.

We talked about it briefly. The Atlanta Braves. The Cincinnati Reds. They're going to play a baseball game. On a racetrack. Listen to this.

WJHL has this report. Major League Baseball. Next thing you know, they're going to do a game on Mars. Listen. The last great Coliseum is set to host America's pastime. That's our top story this afternoon.

I'm John Genco. The Tri-Cities favorite MLB teams. The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds are coming to Bristol Motor Speedway. That game will take place on August 2nd of next year. News Channel 11 Sports Director Kenny Hawkins is now live at the track where the announcement was made earlier about that match-up between the Braves and the Reds.

Kenny, what have you learned? I can tell you John, this is not Iowa. It's Bristol baby. As they get ready to play baseball in 2025 we now know the date. August the 2nd.

The Atlanta Braves taking on the Cincinnati Reds. Now joining me live is Jeremiah Yolcutt. He's the Major League Baseball Vice President of Global Events and he has an explanation of just how they're going to be able to put a baseball field inside the last great Coliseum. First of all, how long has this been in the works? We've been working with folks down here in Bristol for over three years planning this event. And it's been a great collaboration not only with folks in Bristol but also just generally across Tennessee to make this event happen. These are large scale events that require everybody to come together to make things happen and so we're excited that next year we'll be able to debut a diamond in the middle of the infield in Bristol. Wow.

Hickey, well I was going to say Hickey, I'm not going. Maybe, I don't know. I don't know. We'll see. That'd be cool. It's an event.

Never happened before. Go see a baseball game at a racetrack. You may never be able to see it again. You should try to go if you can. It'll take a year. I got months to think about it.

You know, ain't no rush. Bet you do in the middle of the summer too so it's not like you got a lot, lot going on. I bet you that baseball field is going to be 200 degrees. It's going to be hot.

I think you're right about that. Are they going to pump air conditioning in there? I know it's outside but they're going to pump AC in there? No.

How? What giant ass oval? Have you seen these giant things that like blow air? It's like air conditioning.

Have you seen that yet? They put it outside outdoors and everybody gets cool? No. Like a massive wind fan.

It's about as big as a giant freezer you put in your basement. Are you going to have the wind then blowing in or out? No. To me. I don't care where they blow as long as I'm cool. I see. The players are going to be burning up out there.

I hope they thought about that. Anyway, it's time to go back in time to a few things that took place this day in sports history. Let's go back August 9th, 2012. Hey, I posted a photo with this guy today. His name is Usain Bolt. He won the 200 meter out in London. He became the first man to win two gold medals in the 200 meter race.

Listen to this courtesy of the Olympics. These two now ahead of the rest of the field and Usain Bolt is absolutely flying around the top men into the straight. And Joanne Blake in second place.

These two running away. And Blake's challenging. But Bolt is there. I'm sure Joanne Blake is coming through. Bolt gets it again. And the time 19.32. And Usain Bolt just holds off Joanne Blake. A brilliant run by Blake too. But my goodness me.

My goodness me oh my. Hey, something else that took place this day in sports history. Let's go to Brazil.

I was in Brazil too. August 9th, 2016. Michael Phelps won a 4 by 100 race. He won his 21st gold medal.

Good for him. The USA have got it. Nathan Adrian will bring them home. Great Britain's Duncan Scott will take the silver. And will the Australians get up and take the bronze they do. Olympic record. Michael Phelps and his team have maintained this extraordinary record of never having lost the medley relay. The man has finished the greatest Olympian. The greatest swimmer. More medals, gold medals than any other Olympian past or present. Man. Michael Phelps got 28 medals total. 28 of them.

He got 23 gold medals. Damn. And Hickey, what they got the same guy doing all the announcements? Is that how that goes?

They did sound very similar, right? Just some English guy. We got an English guy.

Like one English guy. They bring him out of a cage every four years. It's like, hey man, you do the relay race and the water. You do the running with the track and field.

It's like, hey, you just go out there and do everything. I guess we won't hear from that guy again for another four years. Did he break up for the winter at least? No, no. Oh, jeez. Okay. No. Winter Olympics?

He's going to give him a break from the cage after two years, but sorry buddy. Get comfortable. Winter Olympics. I don't care about it. Just the figure skating, man. That's it. I'm here for the figure skating and nothing else. Christy Yamaguchi. Good stuff.

Anyway. Hey, listen folks. It's been a fun week. Thank you to Mike and thank you to Lanell for joining us to talk about the Commanders as well as the Cowboys, that clown show that's in Dallas. And we'll be back on Monday, 6 p.m. Eastern 3 Pacific. Mickey, are you going to be here over the weekend? You know, at 10 p.m. Eastern Sunday night right here, Infinity Sports Network.

Kick at night. Be there. We love it. We appreciate it. The JR Sport Brief show on the Infinity Sports Network is done.

You can find me online at JR Sport Brief. Hope you have a tremendous weekend. Go Team USA. When we come back on Monday, the Olympics will be done.

Lots of NFL football. Go USA. Go.

Something like that. Okay, I'm done. I'm going.

I'm leaving. Y'all be safe. Be cool. Be well. Be smooth. Don't move. Don't go anywhere.

A, because I told you and then Bart Winkler, he's coming up next. Thank you. Look around. What do you see? Cars. Lots of them. And guess what? They're probably on Auto Trader.

Whether you're into timeless classics or the latest trends. Did somebody say solar-powered, eco-friendly, vegan leather-wrapped, aromatherapy-scented, disco-ball-equipped, self-driving car? If you see it on the road, you can likely find it on Auto Trader. Big cars. Small cars. Blue cars. New cars and used cars. Electric cars. And one day, maybe even flying cars.

With millions of options to choose from, buying a car becomes a whole lot easier. See it. Find it. Auto Trader. Christy Pierce-Rampone here. Foreign member of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team.

Three-time gold medalist and two-time World Cup champion. A mom to two teenage girls and a dog mom too. All four of them need lots of stuff and we always need it fast.
