The Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler. Great to be with you on this victory Sunday night, or a victory Monday, if you are getting the podcast. If you're not live with us on the Dan Shaney YouTube stream, a quick immediate shout out to Wisconsin Sports two four six two six dollar ninety nine. Imagine this defense with Michael Parsons.
A lot of good stuff to talk about the defense tonight. Also, this three game win streak. Was this the three game win streak? You saw happening in their nine and eight season. I will talk about that momentarily.
I do feel like a lot of this season's been predictable. I think it's the same kind of season we've watched for the last few years. And in those seasons, there's usually a little win streak. Also, Dallas can't beat us. Dallas is incapable of beating the Packers.
They have not for a decade. They tied last year. If you think you feel like we lost, they did tie. Last year, I'll put the link up if anybody wants to join. Simon says, Simon Burf says, let's go pack.
What's up, Bart? Four and two, not looking too bad now. Bilbo Bagins, a win is a win. I, I'm, I'm glad they won. I'm glad they won.
I'm glad they won, and we're gonna talk about the win. We're gonna talk about the win. We're gonna be happy about the win. I I just feel like the way this fourth quarter went is that that's the that's the main takeaway coming out of this game is this is a horrible product. This is not a good product.
Look, we won. That's good. Good. This is a horrible product, man. These referees are officiating.
Like they have a quota, and this is not just a Packer thing. I mean, these referees are basically Rosendale cops. Oh, it's the twenty fifth of the month, or whatever it is. We better twenty eighth of the month. We better, we better get down to it.
There's just been penalties after penalties in pretty much every game. I think I saw a chart on it. I can't find it right now, but almost every game today had at least fifteen enforced penalties. I'm looking through my bookmarks to find it. I didn't bookmark it.
I'm glad it wasn't up publicly too, because the last thing I bookmarked were these very, let's just say, Stephanie Vikir selfies. John says the two games I watched today had a ton of flags, and and it felt like this is a game that was moving along, and then the fourth quarter could have been an email. And the email should have just been, "Let's let's keep this going." Corey says, "Are these refs in the fourth quarter doing this because a live betting action, knowing the NFL gets a kickback? This is a real question.
So you're thinking maybe, maybe they're just trying to prolong the game because more people live bet during the game. I don't know. What is there to know? What what can we know? All of your favorite players now." Are players are involved with prediction markets?
It's one thing for me to team up with the wonderful Pottawatomie Casino and their sportsbook, the Paddle Sportsbook. As we are at episode, this right here is episode seven hundred and seventy-four. This is seven seventy-four.
So seven seven five is going to be with Carlos tomorrow. Seven seven six no, but I will be live. I got a lot to talk about, especially college football related. I got to talk about college football at some point, and and then seven seven seven will be Bucks and Wizards. Bucks and Wizards.
Are starting off their respective seasons on Wednesday. I'll be in the sports book. There's a little booth where I'm just going to sit in with a computer and broadcast into that. It's not going to be a stage. It's not going to be a table.
I might bring a flag. Not going to be anything fancy. Um, but we'll see. Buckshot Bobby says I was getting ready to throw my kids freshly carved jack o' lantern through my TV if they dropped another end zone pass. Not a great night for them.
Watson and Golden looking really good tonight. Also not looking good tonight. Were Watson and Golden? Jordan Love really good. Best game ever, according to Chris Collinsworth.
I wouldn't go that far, but it was still a pretty good game to be sure. But I do think, and I don't want to spend too much time on it, I do feel like I do feel like when the Packers win. It should generally a it should be a positive vibe show. I I do feel that, and I want to pay respect to that. That's not a that's just my feeling.
I feel like if your team wins, you want to celebrate the wins. I think a lot of the sports radio or the sports talk kind of sentiment is we always want to complain and we just want to bitch and we never point out any of the positives.
So we won, that's good. I never thought this game was in question. I truly didn't, even though the Cowboys had us right where they wanted us with a 17 nothing lead. Knowing Lafleur blows leads, it never felt like they were going to come back. I think Lafleur coached a game that I am fine with.
They're still not doing a lot with the middle, but I have. I think they either have to chuck it. I think maybe, maybe on pass protection, they only know how to like. Keep them like they can hold. They can't hold if you got to go quick.
But if they have to, like, I don't know. It's it's weird. Green magic is approaching happiness. If that's okay with you all, two dollars. Yeah, that's good.
Ken Cody says I'm a Dallas fan, and I agree with both. I don't think there were too much on those hits with Dak. And then Tom says this team is getting better, but they're do they really have enough?
So the the different things that I think you could talk about out of this game, the different things I think you could talk about. No, is the mic bad? Is it too loud? I'm on my normal mic, but I think I cranked it up too loud. And if that's a problem, I'll try to fix that.
Am I transferring the Snell meme onto Lafleur? I couldn't make this Lafleur's face, but we're gonna keep Snell up there for a little bit. All right, let me refocus. You guys got you guys got me all. There's a lot of good comments, so I'm I'm I'm reading those, and I want to make sure I do pay attention to them.
But there's there's a lot of different avenues with this game.
So avenue one, avenue number one, avenue number one. The refs are terrible. I still think that's the main talking point from this game. Is the refs are terrible? It's a it's a season wide issue.
It is a league wide issue. It is a day wide issue. And I don't just mean there were some bad pass interference calls or there were third down calls on defense that screwed us. Those are baked into watching Packer games now. That's going to happen.
You just got to deal with it. I thought for a while it wasn't going to happen, and then the fourth quarter came. And like I said, they have to hit their quota. This game should have been done an hour ago. It wasted my time.
It wasted your time. Did you ever think they they were never coming back? They were never coming back in this game. It should have been over with sixty minutes ago. It wasn't.
It dragged on. Chris and Toriko are starting to tell each other stories that apparently they shouldn't. Reveal that they think Aaron Rodgers would be an interesting broadcaster. I mean, they they were still blushing the entire time. Nobody would have known anything if Tarico wasn't like, I like the booth.
I don't know what I'm picking on them for. I like the booth. I like Collinsworth, and I and I like Tarico. From a Packer perspective, there's a lot to feel good about. They're four and two, and they won twenty three to seven against the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, if you want, I can pour a little bit of. I can pour a little bit. Thank you. The mic is fine. Says Monica.
She can hear me in Bakersfield. Two bucks. Monica's been a real one lately. We appreciate you here, Monica. Into the Winkler verse.
We do. But I think with this Packer season, it's very predictable how it's going.
So they struggled. They lost some games. Maybe you would have liked them to play better. In they won some games against the backup quarterback with Tyson Bagent. And then even though Dallas is, I would say, at full strength, it doesn't matter what strength Dallas is.
The Packers are going to beat them. The Packers simply no longer lose to the Dallas Cowboys. They might tie them as they did last year, but they simply don't lose to the Dallas Cowboys. Here is the. Yeah, this is the ads I get.
Men fifty and plus hair growth supplements. I've never even looked that up. Wow, that's just Amazon. Wow, that sucks. I don't even look this up.
That's just Amazon. That is my computer recognizing my face that I am balding, and assumes by my face that I am over fifty. Gosh, I am not. That's great. Anyway, look at this.
These are these are Packers results. You're in 2025. Last year they tied. We won in the playoffs in 24, and we beat them in 22, and 19, and 17, and 17, and in 16 October 16th, 2016, the Dallas Cowboys' last win against us was 10 years and two days ago. That was their last win against us, and then before that it was another five game win streak.
So the Packers, if my math is right, are 10 one and one. Against the Cowboys since 2009, really since the Obama administration.
Okay, so the last losses were at the edge. I'm just trying to do this for time reference. Since Barack Obama became the president of the United States of America, his first election, the Dallas Cowboys since then have beat the Packers one time. That's it. They beat the Packers one singular time.
They can't do it.
So on this Packer season, you see that they beat the Cowboys. You feel good about that. But again, this is the part of the predictability of this year. I think is that nothing so far has happened this year that has surprised me. I've been bewildered of my irritation.
But I told you a few weeks ago to answer the question earlier. This feels like a team that's still going to win nine games, and there's going to be some little three-game win streak in there that gets us all excited.
Now, if you look at the Packers' schedule coming up, I do believe we're in Detroit next week. We'll see what happens there. Look at this coming up. We got Detroit. We got the Panthers.
Who are not bad, and that's at home on a Thursday. We got the Patriots on the road, and they've figured it out. We got the Vikings at home; they've beaten us already. Then we go to the Rams, who are not good, or they're not able to win. But we don't know how that game is going to go.
And then they go to New Orleans and take on the Saints. And I am going to that game, and I haven't gone to a Packers win since before COVID.
So they will probably lose that game.
So we don't know what's going to happen in the next six weeks, and there's some tough and challenging games on there. But right now, again, they're four and two, and they're probably going to end up splitting those games, or at best, they'll go four and two, or two and four. I still see this team as about a nine-win football team.
Now, if there's some positives to change that, because I think that should be an interesting question. The question we should be asking ourselves about this Packers team is, okay, well, what if I'm wrong? Have you seen enough against the Bears and have you seen enough against the Cowboys that you think maybe it's not different? Because I, again, I feel like this year is very predictable. It's going very much according to script as far as the Packers goes.
Have you seen something different? Have you seen something different? Are you more confident because of what you've been seeing? I. Am not yet.
I need to see more because right now all I've seen is pretty much everything that I've seen.
Now they get Josh Jacobs back at one point, as Steelbird JT says in the comments. They will get Michael Parsons back to a defense that looks pretty sharp. You know, we've been fooled by some of these defensive coordinators that come in before. This one does maybe feel a little different. I really like the fact that we did not let them get long, deep shots against us.
I don't know what the strategy was on defense. This is one of those weeks where I want to hear from Gannon. I want to watch these nerds put out these all twenty twos. I want to watch all of this kind of stuff because I'm very interested. In uh, in what's going on?
It's very interesting how this team has been playing, especially on defense. I think they're playing very well. This was a pretty encouraging night, all things considered. When it comes to the defense, they got a lot of good pressure. Pressure they got called on when they didn't need to, but just I think a lot of good positive feelings all around about the Green Bay Packers.
All right, I am opening up the link for people that want to join. Let's. See who we have here. This is a face I've not seen before. This is Coleman Owen.
Oh wait, he's actually on the Packers. This was the guy returning punts tonight. Where did this guy come from, and who is he? Coleman Owen, born in Gilbert, Arizona. He's twenty-five.
He's been on our practice squad for a month. He last played collegiately in Ohio. All right.
Well, welcome to the Scott Coleman Owen. Thank you for joining the show, Downtown Billy. We're a little more familiar with what's up, BB. Dude, I've never seen or heard that guy before in my life. He returned punts tonight.
You could he called a fair catch at the four yard line, Billy. No, you could you could tell me that that's a that's the guy that works. That's the guy that lives down the street from me, and I would, I would totally believe you. I'm pretty sure that I have hid under the couch when this guy's been at my door at least five times in the last two years, trying to get me to join the Church of Latter Day Saints. Yeah, which shout out BYU, big dub, huge dub.
Yeah, he just wants to tell you the good news of our Lord and Savior. Yeah, which. I'm not going to answer the door this time. What do you think about the game? Have you considered that the reason the game got Toronto is for ad revenue?
There did seem to be more commercials than normal, and like it felt like the half. But to be fair, America does need to know that T. A. Leone is back on broadcast primetime television. Dude, if you saw the Michelle Tefoya commercials I was seeing every day, you would be losing your mind.
Oh, in Min Minnesota, yeah. She okay. I just don't get why Michelle Tafoya is running back the Carrie Lake playbook. I don't know why she's doing that, but she is. She's got the camera that doesn't.
It's tinted weird. Yep. She's saying shit that doesn't make sense. I don't get it. It's it's a nightmare.
It's a nightmare situation. I didn't even know she lived here. Um, it's a bummer. I'm I'm disappointed, but I will. Uh, I'll be voting.
Accordingly, I was going to move to Minnesota just to vote against her. Yeah, that's why I brought it up. Yeah, I remember that. That uh, that hit home for me. Uh, yeah, I think it was an ad revenue thing.
Um, I know that's like pretty conspiracy theory, but the two uh, the two roughing the passers, those didn't feel nearly as violent as Zaire Franklin killing Dak in the first half. Yeah, like we'll rough the passer. There was one that I thought that I was surprised it wasn't called, and I think they have a real hard time with. They have a real hard time with the guys that hit the quarterback, and it seems like because they can't slow down their momentum. Sure.
So you are asking these. This is again what I don't understand. Is we. The environment these guys are in—it's like gladiators. It's like Rome.
You—you are violent. You are physical. You get berated to be better your whole life, and then when you're at the top of your craft, you play these games in in stadiums with seventy thousand people under the lights. Thirty million people are watching, and you're supposed to tell the guys that are bigger, faster, stronger than ever. Hey, if the quarterback releases the football and you're a split second away, you somehow have to take all the momentum of your body and just freeze it, or like tilt it, or just collapse to the ground like your like your bones have escaped your body.
It just doesn't make sense. There, they're writing rules in an office and then trying to get them implemented on the gridiron, and it's not going to work. And also. I I think I talked about don't call penalties if it's not involved in the play before, and I've also talked about like there's just too many. Tonight really felt like it.
Really felt like they realized at the end of the third quarter they did not call enough penalties. Yeah.
Now is that something just in their head? Did they not think that they called a fair game? Is the NFL actually saying we need 15 penalties a game? It's happening too much. I I believe a lot of people are incompetent, and normally when something bad happens, I will say that was just general incompetence or human error.
But when it happens so much, then you start to think. Are they incompetent by design? And I still think the NFL's got too many rules that no actual brain can do this. You might need AI robot umps in the NFL to figure this all out. No, no.
But it's just it's it's there's there's just there's just too much going on, and you could probably throw nineteen flags on every play if you looked at everybody's hands. Yeah, for sure. But also, some of that is just football. And we've sort of lost that, Billy. The the the thing is, just call a consistent game.
You know, if you're gonna call a really ticky-tack game, call it that way the whole time throughout. If you're gonna let let stuff slide, let it keep going, man. Like you can't you can't be calling that that that stuff at the end of the game, especially when, especially when the game's been wrapped up since uh since two quarters ago. Like this game had to drag on. I enjoyed watching the game in the first half, and then the second half it was very boring, and you knew what the result was going to be, even with our ability to choke. And Dallas's ability—I mean, they have good players on offense.
So I really do want to highlight the defense, and I'm not going to do the best job of it. But I want to know, like, how and why, and what was the plan. And I'm very interested in in how they shut them down because they really did. I'm wondering because I've been I've been having this conversation with you. I've been having all night, and I think a lot of people have with their buddies.
Um, where like why is this game suck? And I think some of it is.
Some of it is we've been high octane brewers where every pitch matters, and then we go down and watch a Week Six game. Even it's against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, it is a bit of a. This is even a bit of like a from a stakes standpoint. This is lower stakes than the Badger game last night. Yeah, so this is just the this is a lower stand.
We're not used to that, I guess, with the Packers, especially mid October.
So there's that, but independent from that. This just this is not the first time we've said this all season long. I think I've gotten on here and said product sucks. Product's not good. I'm not the only one noticing it.
I don't want it to not be good, but I'm starting to worry. Like in 25 years, what does football even look like? I mean, it probably didn't help that the Packers scored what six points in the second half. It also probably doesn't help that yeah the Brewers are in the World Series and we've been seeing some of the best baseball games we've ever seen in our lifetime. Green Magic says the main job of the NFL is to entertain with a good story.
They call penalties to promote that consistency is the last thing on their mind. Even if that's true, nobody likes reading a book that's four hundred pages when the story ended at page three hundred and one. That's what happened. It was just a lot of nonsense. There's a whole extra act of this movie that didn't need to happen.
What, Billy? You got to read some bigger books, Bart. Four hundred's not big enough. No, no, you got to read some Brandon Sanderson, man. I don't even know what is.
What does he write? Uh, probably stuff you wouldn't like. Oh, dude! Uh, the drops were were ass. The the wide receiver drops were rough.
Luckily, the Packers could win despite that. Um, but that's going to cost them some games here moving forward. Yeah, uh, that was not great either. Did Brandon Ceecey get hurt, or did he just leave the game? Uh, he got hurt.
He left. I don't. I didn't see anything after that. All right, maybe we'll get an update on some of that later, Billy. What else you got before I kick your ass out of here and let you go to bed?
Get me out of here, man. To FOIA for Senate. I'll be at the polls. See you, buddy. See you, Bart.

Yeah.
How's my audio? Is it clear enough? You sound great. No, thank you. All right.
What do you think of the game? It was a good game. You know, I'm I'm happy to see the pack showing up at home. Big win. Didn't want to lose to the Cowboys.
I did see some comments about why aren't we running it on third and short? And my comment back is, were you watching the football game because we averaged exactly two yards a carry for running backs?
So. Did we see Caleb Johnson for one rush tonight for negative two yards? Yeah, lost that prop. I thought he was going to be playing instead of Pierre Strong, and Pierre Strong is out snapping Marshawn Lloyd.
Well, Lloyd, do we all agree Lloyd's bad? I know he scored a couple of touchdowns last week, but he's not. I I don't I don't see it with him. And we waited two years for him to come back for this. Yeah, he is.
He's not it, but Jordan Love was phenomenal. I mean, is what else can be said? He put the ball in the basket multiple times, hit his receivers all over the field, and he ran.
So you got everything you wanted out of Jordan Love if you're a football fan tonight. I agree. At one point, I tweeted, "I just don't get it. If you don't see it, with love." And then he threw an interception right after that. That that was a good play by the linebacker, but that would be that would be getting a phone call on my computer.
You hear that? Yeah, that's funny. It's the voicemail line, but little known secret: the voicemail line is not a separate line. It's actually a number that. Goes to my phone, so sometimes I'll be like driving, listening to Spotify, and then my car will start blaring a ring, and it's it's like David and Buffalo or something, which is great.
I mean, that's why I have the voicemail line. But yeah, we also have okay. Regarding the running backs, regarding love, love, I do think if I could like. Hey Bart, fix one thing about Jordan Love or change one thing about Jordan Love. His throws do angle down sometimes, and we've talked about that this season.
Where and there was one, I think it was Golden tried to catch one, which I don't entirely blame Golden on that one. Golden, Golden was great tonight, and so was Watson. They also great. They also had a lot of mistakes. They did enough good.
Just still, I think, say they played very well. But but it is a pretty volume. I mean, with the volume they're getting, they're performing. You're not gonna. Yes, you love Golden to catch 13 of 13 passes, but he had a great game.
He had some great catches and really good stuff from the pack. I mean, if you think about Jordan Love tonight, like no run game. Still a patchwork old line, and he's dropping dimes all over the field. Just, I mean, give him a running game. I don't even know what the guy's going to look like.
He is going to throw for seven million yards in the game. Like, I don't know, hundred and nine on his first drive, which is like mathematically impossible. But not in Roger Goodell's NFL, where you're going to get a three hundred yard passer on one drive in Roger Goodell's NFL. There's going to be 15 penalties a game. Golden tonight, six for a buck of four.
He was targeted almost well more than twice that. He was targeted 13 times, but he's six for 104 with a touchdown. You drafted a wide receiver in the first round; those need to be the numbers, and they were. Still, a lot of drops. The end zone drops would have drove me nuts.
Jordan Love does a very nice poker face. I'm not showing how pissed he is when these guys do drop these balls. And he goes back to him like, yeah. We're not victims of Rogers being, you know, undies in a Bundy or whatever.
Well, that was the thing. If Rogers was fed up with going to his guys, like if I don't want to go to Devontae or James Jones or Jordy, well, then I'm going to Aberderis and Janis and you know, if if love doesn't throw. If he's like okay, Watson and Golden, you're in my doghouse. Then he's thrown to some of these other guys like Bo Melton. Bo Melton, no catches, no targets.
So okay, but Savion Williams is back. Was involved heavily early, and then like not at all. Pierre Strong caught five. Tucker Craft caught five. Had a big fourth down catch, and that was a receiving for the night on the ground.
Twenty six carries. This is including some of the kneel downs, but 26 carries, 57 yards, 2.2 yards a carry. The only rushing touchdown was Jordan Love actually snuck it in himself. Dan says Love is so good, just needs a little more time from the run game and O line. Sky's the limit.
Bobby says Bart, do you think when Parsons and Jacobs come back within the next two weeks, we still have Super Bowl hopes?
Well, that's—I mean—that's going to be remain to be seen.
So, if you're—if you don't think, because right now I do think this feels like every other Packer season I've watched under the floor. That's what it feels like to me. If you don't think it's going to turn out to be that way. And last year it was turning out not to be that way.
So I'll give credit where credits due. But if you don't think it's going to turn out to be that way, then sure, Jacobs coming back, Parsons coming back, those are going to be huge additions. And with the rest of the NFC right now, and that's another thing the Packers have to stop doing is stop take stop not taking advantage when the NFC has opened the red carpet for you. Who's good? The Niners are good.
I don't want to play them. The Seahawks are good. They're three and three, but they're good. The Rams are. They might be.
I think the Rams are like the Cowboys, where there is a lot of talent there, but they're going to lose games they shouldn't. Are the Falcons good? Are the Bears good? Like they're probably right where we are. Yeah, where I think we're right.
This is all a Rorschach test. This is all a Magic Three D I. If you look at it with one frame of view, sure they're good, but if you look at it. From a different direction, they're not.
So I don't know. I don't know. The Niners are good. Who who else is good in the NFC? I'm trying to think.
The Vikings are undefeated. Oh yeah, I forgot they didn't play this week, so I didn't think about it. But yeah, Vikings got our number right now. We can't really say they're we're better than them. Teams with winning records in the NFC are the Vikings at five and O, the Niners at five and O.
And then we're tied with the Bears for the second best record in the NFC. We're the three seed. No, well, no, we'd be the five because of the division. But we're the we we're four and two. They're four and two.
New York's three two and one. Carolina's three and two, and that's it.
So what's the difference between five and seven? Right, like, yeah, it's the same thing. Yeah, you got five. You got five teams with a winning record. One, two, three, four.
Six, sixteen. We're four and two, man. I had no shot in any prediction that I looked at for myself. I don't know anyone who had us without Micah Parsons and Tucker Craft coming off an ACL, Devontae Wyatt coming off a significant injury, losing offensive linemen, picking guys up off the couch, and we're four and two. Like that's unbelievable.
Yeah, the offensive line still not great. I don't know where Zeitler's been. Are we going to play this guy? We signed him. We're going to play him.
You got Glover in there. Thomas are getting another start tonight. You can't put it on Lafleur though. Like you can't say it's all Jordan Love. Like, and I guess some defense has been good.
But you have that Atlanta game, and it's hard to be like the defense has been great. You go to every game, and Jordan Love has been the reason we've either been in the game or won the game. Yeah, so I think from a Packer like what is this team standpoint? Their first four games, you had two wins, which were ugly, but they won. You had two losses that one was really bad, and the Vikings game just got away from you.
And then you went back to Lambeau and stomped on the Bears, where there was motivation, obviously, to do so. But also, they were playing Bajant; that's true. And then the Cowboys—I don't, I don't, I just there's not—they're four and two, so you have to just be happy they're four and two. It's hard to win because there's not there's there's not enough to like properly evaluate how they are. Cause the first four weeks, you can almost throw out as a two and two wash.
The Bears played Bajin, and the Cowboys—they haven't beaten us since 2016. It was 10 years ago this week. They're not a threat. They can't beat us. But they can tie us.
They can tie us. But they can't beat us.
So how do you measure what this team is? I think. For real Super Bowl aspirations, if we really want to be there with the Packers, I think we just have to be. It starts now. They're four and two.
We didn't fuck up too badly. They're four and two. They're still getting guys back. They're four and I mean they're four and two right now. Supersedes any criticism I could have about them because they are four and two and they've got.
A leg up on the last eleven weeks of the season, here in which anything can happen. But I don't know. I would, I would think. I don't know. If this was against any other team, maybe I might be more like, "Oh, Cowboys are on some people's Super Bowl picks in the beginning of the season." I mean, well, mine, mine.
You really? Oh yeah. But I, I maybe I'm putting too much emphasis on the fact that. I was not worried about this game all week. Yeah, I wasn't worried about it either.
We match up well against the Dallas. They don't. They don't lose to us better than their defense. Like, I worried about the Lions only because they have Jameer Gibbs. Like, basically the same guy as Bijan Robinson in in skill set and ability.
They're both incredible. And we got to play the Lions twice, so I think one of those will probably be an L. If we can split with them, that'd be good. Let's hear what my voicemail was. Would you like to?
We got the Carl's Place voicemail four zero two nine one five B A R T four zero two nine one five two two seven eight. This was the voicemail that came into the Carl's Place voicemail line during the show. We're coming for the win! We're winning! Oh, so good!
What was the worst part of that game, though? I honestly want to know. Was it the officiating? Was it the announcers? Or was it the drops?
Way too many drops tonight. The officials were god awful.
So many bad penalties. NFL, you need to fix this shit. You're ruining your fricking sport.
So, and then the announcers could never give the Packers defense any credit. This is a great defense. I agree with you. Matt Lafleur sucks, but I mean, this year, this. Here, Jordan Love MVP season rolling in.
Go Pats, go baby! The voice sounded like it was coming out of this Blake Snell face right here. Is what? I don't know. That Blake Snell face probably doesn't know how to put together a sentence.
Where did this come from? That's great. I got it on the news. I'm still so pumped about that.
So we got the Lions next week. Twelve. That that picture that Blake Snell was on TV. Yeah, they had me on after the clincher, and then I already had this up. And at one point, I go, "I'm sorry, guys.
I know this is distracting, but what they say? They're like, 'Oh, we don't care.' Brewers. Yeah.
Ah, that guy sounded like the dudes that sing the Milwaukee Brewers song. Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Brewers. Boy, that guy hit gold. Yeah, good. They're gonna like have him perform that during the.
I mean, the the players want him around, is from what I'm understanding. I I just don't know if it's like serious or joke. Like, I heard that he does the content as a joke. Like, it's not this guy who is completely like not aware that it's somewhat a parody. Yeah, I I think I don't think we're not making fun of them.
We like the song. It's catchy, man. Milwaukee Brewers. Have you seen the County Milwaukee County Zoo one? No, that's his original.
You gotta look it up. It's it's it's even catchier. Oh damn. I got to get back to the team store. I got this hat, and then I was trying to get a sweatshirt, which they didn't have, so I ordered it online.
It's probably gonna get here after the World Series. Also, I'm kind of worried this has like an AI font to it. I'm a little—I don't know—I like it. It looks nice. Looks classy.
I don't know. Looks classy. I just had to get something. Then I took my kid there, and we overshopped. You did?
Oh yeah. Did you guys go to the the watch party for Game Four? No, I would be interested in doing that though. For one of these road games, I think that would be. It's going to be sold out probably.
There, there were fifteen bucks a seat. Pretty pretty good pricing. Yeah, and I want to say something about the ticket pricing. That's the cost of doing business, man. We we all every every Brewers fan you've ever talked to has has said if they ever go to the World Series that no one has ever not said that.
No one's ever. We've all said the same thing.
So yeah, if if Corey off topic, but I have a friend from middle school, and we promised each other we'd go to the World Series together when we were twelve. Know anyone that can give me a ticket for like forty bucks? I think we're being a little too hard on the real kid who did that, but also, oh, it's deserved. But also, now we're just piling on. Did you see my comment?
Like five comments down after Corey's comment. No. Oh, it's. No way, Corey. I had the same friend, and we promised the same thing.
I know, I know. Like we all, we all want. I'm surprised. Like three thousand actually seems low at this point. And then, and then everyone is like, "Oh, yeah, don't worry, guys.
Tickets will go down closer to game one." Closer game one tickets gonna be up to like six grand. I got goosebumps, man. I'm so excited. We're in the World Series. They showed Miller Park during Sunday Night Baseball, and they're not even the rights holder.
It's one thing to watch Fox College Football all day and see, you know, Rays Guardians versus Brewers, and be like, I'm getting them groined up here, rubbing my nips. But another to just see Sunday Night Football randomly show it. That was sweet. It is sweet. I mean, to never have had a World Series in Miller Park is crazy.
I mean, the stadium's been there for 25 years. I don't know that I love. Here's a controversial take. I don't know that I love when the other teams get involved. Like, I don't know if I love when the Packers are like.
Lefleur's wearing a hat, and then they put a sign up at Lam. It just feels like a cheap pop to me. I feel like if I'm going to cheer at your stadium, I need to cheer because of what you're doing. Oh, Tarico, this is this is how nobody outside of Wisconsin knows anything about what we do here.
Okay, and they all they all have an opinion of us. They're all like, why are ticket prices? Because we love the Brewers and we've been waiting our whole lives. We we love the Brewers. They all come here and are like, oh my God, Wisconsin's got like every piece of natural.
I mean, it's a great nature and yeah, yeah. Oh, it's a great place to live. Of course it is, but they think we're so nice. Cause Torico's like at one point on the scoreboard, they showed the Cardinals losing to the or the Cardinals beating the Rams, and that's just the way they are in Wisconsin. They're cheering on their coach's brother getting a win.
No, no, we were cheering the Rams losing. Like, yeah, yeah, we're not that nice. Like that is insanely nice. Yeah.
Like that. That is. That is not. That is. That that is offensive.
Rabbit hole. Offensive. You think we're that nice? You think some people were that nice though? Like absolutely not.
Nobody knows who the coach of the Cardinals is. There's probably some fans in that crowd that are. I don't know. I I think 25 might actually cheer for the other Lafleur. No, no, I don't.
I don't think twenty percent even know he's the coach of the Cardinals. There was a pretty big with the preseason game, and on TV, it was like national TV, and they were talking about it nonstop, trying to make it a Harbaugh Harbaugh thing. And speaking of Harbaugh, Jake says, "What would it take to get Scadaboo from the Giants?" Could be a good one or two year stopgap if they find their long term running back.
Well, I think Jake. Yeah, I think so. He's joking.
Well, if you're trading for Scadaboo, you're trading for him to be your back. I like Scadaboo, but I don't think that he's going to be leaving the Giants.
Well, he didn't get any carries today. And so he said he thinks he was punished. Harbaugh says he wasn't benched. They only ran the ball like ten times, and they already have a McCarthy. Yeah, they already have a rushed.
They already have a busy running back room. Then they signed Najee Harris just to also not run him. Henry says, "I feel like the NFL is not as great as it used to be. Maybe it's just me. Go Brewers." Right now, we are going to think that because we are in Brewer Fever.
Okay, so we just went from watching the Brewers play the Dodgers four nights. High octane, high octane. Like this is every pitch met. You're stressed out. I got so stressed out, I got the stomach flu the other night.
I believe it. Yeah, that's probably what caused it. Did anyone have stress for this game tonight? No. Whether we won or lost, it was.
I mean, we've been so stressed out during the playoffs with the Brewers. Like, off-topic is getting to the World Series the most difficult playoff path? I almost think so. I mean, you gotta.
Well, you're playing two different sports, really. That's why. Because if you're the best team during the 162, it doesn't mean. That doesn't mean you're just going to get in, right? You got to play.
Well, you got to play a janky five game series, and then seven with a team that should be equal caliber. Yeah, it seems extremely difficult. And we seven. I think. I think.
I think seven games after 162 game season. But if you're playing the Dodgers, you only got to win four. In four. Stanley Cup is one that you could put in there. Stanley Cup, yeah.
Christopher says, "Oh my God! Each week, the anti-Green Bay refs get worse." Actually, anyone who actually believes they get all the calls should be strung up along with these refs. Always Wisconsin sports versus the league. That's why the Brewers have no chance. The Brewers had no chance.
They would have ended that. Brewers got a chance. They won't allow us to print hats. More than a chance. The Brewers got a chance with World Series on the front there.
They won't allow that. But the Packard, the Packard, we watch a lot of football. We don't watch every game. I don't watch every game in full to tell you if we're getting roughing the passers called on us. More often than not, the opposite.
We don't get roughing the passer. Jordan Love is allergic to roughing the passer. Yeah, but in our games that we watch, there's enough evidence now to tell you a hit on Jordan Love does not get called equally to a hit on their quarterback. If we have a guy come in and rough the passer, then call roughing the passer. But what the NFL has done has gone away.
They're like going away from player safety into just like don't touch these people. Yeah, and I don't think it's going to get better because the NFL product inherit it's just getting worse. It's getting worse. There can be a hundred reasons why you think it's getting worse, but less. Talent, like the talent, it's easier to make a team these days.
Less people are playing, like in the in aggregate, probably. Yeah, in the aggregate, you're seeing more eight man football instead of full blown teams. You're seeing less teams in high school feeling a team now. Kids are getting to college, and they're getting to college, and they're making a bunch of money, and then they're staying longer. And then by the time they get to the pros, they've already got a lot of wear and tear on them.
There's so many incredible athletes that play football, though. I mean, but how many incredible athletes aren't playing football because because of health and safety? Because their parents aren't letting them. I don't know one. A lot of money to pass up.
Baseball, obviously, if there's no salary cap, you push your kid into baseball if they're an extremely good athlete and they can stay healthy. I know I'm in bougie Shorewood, but I haven't talked to one. I haven't talked to one other dad that hasn't said, "I." They all say I'm not letting my kid play football. Really? They all say it.
Yeah.
Wow. I'm gonna let my kids do what they want to do. Football will be tough. Like, I guess we'll cross that bridge when I get there. But, um, yeah, I suffered injuries, and you know, there's health insurance related things.
Like, as a dad, like I don't want to. Like, I get it. My dad got pissed when I got a knee injury because it's expensive to have a knee surgery, especially when you're 16 years old. Like. The concussion—that's a lifelong thing.
Like, yeah, my knee's fine, and I'm better now for it because I got it. Like, it's stronger than it ever was before. But concussions—that's that's bad. I mean, you could have migraines later in life that you don't expect, and there's no real cure for messing up your dome. I don't think.
Well, I think we just got rid of our program, but I don't think I would let my kid play football unless he threw a tight spiral forty yards down the field. If he if he could be quarterback, I let him play, but I am not going to sacrifice his brain just to be fifth wide receiver.
Well, he probably wouldn't be on the field a lot if he was fifth wide receiver, part. Yeah, he gets hurt in practice or some shitty linebacker. Linebacker, high school football. All right, anything else, Ben? Um, yeah the the refs, it is a real problem, and I think the flow of the game is disrupted.
It's just a bad product. I agree, and that needs to get fixed. Like the refs, if one thing needs to get fixed, there needs to be a limit on flags or. You can challenge more flags or something, but then you're even flowing the game less. I don't know, but it was tough to see a couple of those calls on nothing again on Jordan and Dak getting touched.
Yeah.
All right, go pack. Thankfully, it didn't matter. The only thing it really did was just extend the game from us going to bed 45 minutes later than we needed to. Yeah.
So have a good one. Get some rest. We'll talk soon, Ben. This is the story of the one. As a shipping manager, he's running the dock, stocking supplies, and making sure every order goes out on time.

That is Ben L, who has turned into Ben W during the Brewers' run, and tonight was Ben not tie, as the Packers did not tie the Cowboys like they did last year. But again, ten one and one against this team. Hey, look, this is one of these games where it's just like, okay, that happened.
What's next? That's how I feel. I I think that there's going to be a lot of people. Like me, I do think that I have a decent pulse on what's going on. I also know that there's always people more excited about it than I ever could be.
That yeah, we beat the Cowboys, hell yeah! But even if you are like that, I think it's—I really think the Brewers. It's hard. It's, and which I love. I love when the Packers get knocked down and pay because of the Brewers.
But we are all in Brewer's mind. Right, and then you've got the other stuff. This already was a season that was interesting. And Big Bubbs here says football's fixed. There's a lot of us that think that the penalties are getting out of control.
We don't lose to the Cowboys, so whatever juice you had against this team in the '90s, you're not excited about kicking their ass on Sunday Night Football. I was right away. Like I was right away. They scored. They immediately scored, and I thought this game's over.
We win. We win. This game's over, and then we kept scoring, and they kept not scoring, and we were going to win this game. We don't lose to the Cowboys. But even if you were like maximum groined up, I'm trying to place myself at a bar.
I'm trying to place. I'm trying to. I'm trying to place myself in a position where I am the most excited about this sport, this game tonight. Without putting money on the game, Mike says, "I think Dak got more roughing calls that second half than Love has had his entire career." I don't like Blake Snell creeping around behind you. He's just keeping me in check.
It might it might be too distracting for every, but then if people see me on Twitter and they're scrolling, they're like, "What the fuck? What is this?" And also, everyone immediately, even if you don't know much about baseball, everyone knows immediately who this is. Ah, that's insane.
Okay, so if like it's the third quarter, and then. I'm still pumped up, and we kick another field goal. I'm still pumped up by the fourth quarter. It's like get this thing all over with, okay? I got to get home.
What are we doing here? The game just it went on forever.
So yeah, I mean, I'm I'm I'm glad they won. I do think there's the brewer thing, and there's the football is not good right now thing, and we're trying to navigate that. We're trying to navigate all that to try to enjoy these games. This was a good win. They did a lot in this win to be excited.
This was a bad performance from an entertainment standpoint. I was not entertained.
So, do I like sports because I'm entertained, or do I like sports because I like the Green Bay Packers and I don't need to be entertained? I just like them. I guess what I'm saying is I need to be entertained, but I don't need to be entertained. I've sat through a lot of bad football over my life, or bad sports. I'm going to be there.
I've sat through a lot of bad sports. I don't, I don't need, I don't judge these games by was I entertained, was I not. This is really the first time it's ever come up for me. And that has a lot to do with the refs, and you can't you can't have the intersection of your refs are as bad as ever when the sports betting is as influenced with the league more than ever before. My blim isn't my brim isn't flat enough.
They didn't sell any flat bees. This isn't a flat B hat. We'll keep it normal. I don't have any flat Bs down here. Shit.
I also don't call them flat Bs, and I don't want that to stick on for myself.
So I'm gonna stop doing that. I got another voicemail here. I wanted to pick this up. I was gonna play this. On the show, do later this week, but let's just get it in now.
This is David in Buffalo. He had some things to say about the Thursday night game that none of us watched. Did you see that graphic? The last three NFL games ended in overtime on national television. No, no, none of us saw it.
But he also talked a little Brewers. I don't mind talking Brewers here tonight. That's all we care about anyway, right now. Hey Bart, what's up? This is David from Buffalo.
Congratulations, man! You're Milwaukee Brewers. I was a little nervous they were down tonight early in that game, and they rallied. What a great comeback that was to put away the Dodgers, and really now proving that hey, you don't need a ten trillion dollar payroll to win in the major leagues. I think they got as good a chance as anybody, especially this series with the Devil Rays and the Indians goes for a long time.
The Rays and the Guardians there, but let's be honest, man. I I think there's there's no doubt that you know Council built something nice there, but Murphy's taking it to a whole different level. He is the John Gruden to Council's Tony Dungy. It's that simple, man. But but great win for you guys tonight.
Otani will have a plenty of time this off season to gamble with his interpreter. And you know what? I'm going to be rooting for the Brewers to do well. I don't care who they play, whether it's Cleveland or Tampa Bay. I think that series is going to go at least six games, maybe seven.
That's all I got for you. Oh, one quick take on the football game too, because I watch more of that than the baseball. Dude, is it me or the Denver Broncos every week? Just getting luckier and luckier and luckier. The referees are in their pocket.
They're pulling out games out their ass. 168 yards of offense tonight. I mean, Donald again was like a double agent in that game. The way he threw the football. I mean, if I was a Seahawks fan, I'd be very very nervous at three and three.
I mean, people are talking about the Rams in trouble. I mean, the Rams at least can move the ball. The Seahawks, man, they're without Kenneth Walker, they're a different offense. But Bo Nix, man, this guy is get us in the pocket. I mean, he he did not look right again.
I mean, I'll say this: I remember when he played in college at Auburn and Oregon. He just to me, Bo Nix does better when the play is in chaos. It seems like that's that's not a good quarterback. I mean, J.P. Lawson and Rob Johnson think this guy lacks confidence right now.
Anyways, Bart, I'm just tired of Denver. I'm tired of Sean Payton. Winning these games because the referees have by smoke and mirrors. I just hope one day, whether it's the playoffs or wherever they they meet a team that's better, they get smoked. Thanks for the time, buddy.
I'll talk to you later. I'm out. Thanks, David. A little good Broncos breakdown here tonight after Packers Cowboys. It'd be like of being a Bears fan and saying.
Green Bay sucks at a Falcons game. Oh, but there's a guy dressed up as a. How about just don't do the chant everywhere you fucking go, man? How about how about that? Packers have allowed 14 or fewer points in three straight games.
That's their longest streak since 2016.
So this defense, this defense, there's a lot to be happy about with this defense, and I think. I think if you're gonna look at the if you're gonna look at the team big picture, Jordan Love, don't fix what ain't broken. And I'm tired of discussing it. If you wanted to be perfect, you're crazy. To get this guy after Favre and Rodgers, do you understand how blessed you are?
To get to get to get Rodgers after Favre. Is not even a once in a lifetime. It's like once in a thousand year flood situation. And then just to get a guy who doesn't suck ass after both of them, and then to get a guy who's actually good, what more can you possibly want? The rushing game is abysmal, and that's why Josh Jacobs is still on this team.
There's, there's no. There's no other way around it. The receivers, I was happy to see Savion back. I like him. Then I don't know where he went.
But Golden and Watson, man, that's just that's a drive love crazy. And you know he's probably fine. He he got his touchdown and. But yeah, I mean, Jordan Love. If if we're going to try to talk Jordan Love MVP, he had one touchdown, one interception tonight.
He could have had three, four touchdowns, and maybe none interceptions. And that's a lot. That's a lot more into the MVP conversation than than than what this stat line is. Big Bub says, "Love is great, but does it really matter if the games are fixed?" I don't know. I get.
I guess. I mean, he's a good actor. Then he's a good actor in the play of whatever, of whatever we're watching here. Defensively, lot to like. Van Ness had a sack.
We had a couple interceptions. Brandon Sisse, who I think should be fine. Evan Williams had a pick. Trey Smack was fine. I thought, you know, the the fourth downs are such a big point of discussion.
It was a little weird the first time when they had a fourth down and they were trying to draw the Cowboys offside just to get a closer fourth down. Would they have gone for it? I don't know. But I have no problem with any of any of Lafleur's. We're going to go for it here, and then kick the field goal.
Remember that drive? I thought that was fine. You went for it. You got in field goal position. Then it was fourth and six.
You kick a field goal. Good. That's why you drafted the kicker in the draft. Forty-four yards through the uprights. When he kicked later in the game, maybe you want him to go.
That that I think. I think he knows. I'm not sure how much of what we say about Lafleur. I don't know. I don't.
I don't know. I think. I think Matt Lafleur thinks everyone loves him. That would be my guess. But even still, I think he knows that he is being watched pretty intently on his fourth down decisions.
And I do think we've bullied him to the point where, if it's close, he's going to go for it. I don't mean like us in the Winkler verse. I just mean the collectively. I mean, the fans booing, or what people are saying, or broadcasters, or anything. I feel like Matt Lafleur goes for it on fourth down more than he would normally because of exterior situations and circumstances.
I think that that's true. But I don't have any issue with him tonight. I think the defense.
Well, that's not. I have a tremendous issue with him. But nothing in these three hours made it worse. I think that the defense looked really good. This is great for them.
If anything, playing like this without Micah is going to be a bigger boost of confidence to them than when they get Micah back.
So they're not waiting for Micah Parsons to say we'll be a good. We keep saying that.
Well, what is this defense going to look like without Micah? They're ready to just be good. And Jonathan Gannon. They talked about it early. This risk reward thing.
When you blitz so many guys, if you're going to do that, there's going to be some bad, but there's going to be some good. I don't mind. I like. More aggressive than not. I like more aggressive than not, because I don't.
I don't think you're gonna win anything playing things down the middle, like floaters, like in Big Brother.
So you have to be a little aggressive. I like that. I I know this is one of the big things that I would always yell at people for. But I like seeing. I just am more comfortable when I see Gannon on the sideline than on the in the booth.
Just feels like you're not part of the team. I don't know. Shouldn't you like if you're coaching? Shouldn't you have the ability to talk to your players in the face? That's that's my big thing.
I know you can see the game better from up high, but I think it's more important to talk to your players. Could be wrong. Alex says teams this year are blitzing a lot more. It's not unique to the Packers. It's unique to the Packers that it seems to be working.
You came away with this game without what was their longest pass? What was the Cowboys' longest reception? Twenty-one yards. That's that's the that's the one little thing I'll I'll grab here. That's what I'm grabbing.
I didn't like the game; it was boring. The refs were bad. It was predictable. We don't lose to the Cowboys. Grab something from this game to be excited about.
Twenty-one yards is their. George Pickens, C.D. Lamb, Dak Prescott. I love the Flanorik head too. He scored late.
That's a big number. That is a big number.
So I'm pumped about that.
So this was good. This, but this was like this was. You know, when you watch a TV show, sometimes there's episodes that don't have all the action, but it's like a setup episode.
So this was a setup game. We got our win. We beat the team we always beat.
Now we're setting ourselves up for the forward, and we're all also watching a show we are far more invested in. In uh. In the Milwaukee Brewers. This was like me trying to figure out who the mother's gonna be and how I met your mother.
Well, I'm also trying to figure out how they got on the island and lost. Like that mystery means a lot more to me than this other stupid thing. And right now, the Brewers mean a lot more to me than this than this Packer thing. But that will change. And so, you're going to need these wins by the time we're back in Brewer.
What we feel about the Brewers to feel about the Packers again, which we normally do. By the time we get back there, we'll be happy we got this win. They're four and two. The NFC's bad. It's almost like I'm talking myself into trying to be more excited, but I really do blame the refs for that.
I blame the refs. This is like the first time I've been this mad at the refs after a win. Like we won convincingly, and I'm in a sour mood because of the refs. That's insane. That's how bad they were.
I mean, even Cowboys fans, you know, you lost. It's just like, what are we doing? And I'm so tired. I think the the biggest here, I'll tell you this: the biggest problem with football right now. The biggest problem with football is that, not that you have to, not that you.
So when we watch a big play, what do we do right away? What do we do right away? When we watch a big play, we immediately look to see if there's a flag. Big kick return, big pass downfield, big run. Where's the flag?
We look on the field for the flag. We look for the yellow score bug to say flag. But the reason it's worse now than ever before is because now we don't have to say it.
Now the announcers say it, and no flags, and there are no flags. Why on a big play is that a part of the call? It's because your league has trained us that there's always flags. Stop calling penalties just to call penalties. What quote are you trying to reach, NFL?
You're ruining the product. We are expecting the flags. Terrible. Max says no Wagner tonight. Is he in prison or stoned somewhere?
Good chance both. Also, he doesn't give a shit about the Packers. Hey, NFL, more like National Flag League. Am I right? Tim, Tim, I said NFL, more like National Flag League.
Am I right? I said NFL, National Flag League. Thank you. Because instead of football, the F is flag. If I wore yellow tonight to look like a flag, you think this is a Packers shirt?
This is my NFL shirt. This is my costume for Halloween. I'm going as a flag. I'm gonna get a little bow tie in my head and twist it up, and then I'm just gonna go every every time my kid goes to get candy. I'm just gonna hurl myself into the.
Porch where they're giving out the candy and be like, "There's a razor in there. You didn't hand it out right. Took more than one piece. You handed out an apple. These kids want candy.
That's my Halloween costume." Carlos Ortiz will join me on Monday. I'll be live on Tuesday, and then on Wednesday night after Bucks Wizards from the Potawatomi Sports Book, episode number seven hundred and seven. We will talk much more, previewing and getting ready for what's coming up on Friday. What's coming up on Friday? World Series Game One.
