Rich Eisen here. At Hyundai, the SUV trophy shelf is getting a little out of hand because U.S. News and World Report named Hyundai the best SUV brand. That's five out of six years with hybrid SUVs like the premium and capable Palisade, the adventure-built Santa Fe, and the tech-infused Tucson. Which means at this point, the shelf will need its own structural support system and a dedicated construction crew.

Now, on. On with the show. Let's talk about the Cleveland Browns. Who's in first place? This is the Rich Eisen show.
Four and six. I did not think I'd be up here addressing that question from the Rich Eisen show studio in Los Angeles. What's the identity of this team right now? Yeah, we're figuring out. On today's show, ESPN NFL analyst Marcus Spears, plus latest news and more.
And now it's Rich Eisen.
Well, hey everybody! Welcome to this edition of the Rich Eisen Show. We're live on Disney Plus, the ESPN app, ESPN Radio, Sirius XM channel eighty eight four four two zero four. Rich is the number to chat with us on our Weather Tech Fan Line. Marcus Spears will be joining us from the Bay Area or thereabouts.
The Monday Night Week Six Capper of Monday Night Football between the Commanders and the. Niners, he will be joining us to give us his two cents on absolutely everything.
So much to discuss. Good to see over there, Chris Brockman. What's going on? Hey, Rich. Victory Monday.
I am excellent. DJ Mikey Diaz and Ds nuts. Good to see you. See you, Rich. How are you, TJ Jefferson?
This the candle lit. It is good to see you, bud. I'm great personally, but there is no victory in my Monday. I'm victory collegiately and then professionally. Just as you know, I root for all 32 teams to do well.
Do you? Do you? I do. I I I I really do. Oh, do you?
And and again, like I said, give us a call. We'll have a conversation. Phone lines are lit. I just looked down. There were none like three minutes ago, and now there are, which means people want to talk with us or get something off their chest.
We're here for you. That's what I'm saying. We start the show with best wishes going out to Jalen Hurts. Yeah, absolutely. I I understand that there's already been a firing and a front office firing and Chris Ballard.
In Indianapolis, and we'll discuss that. But I'm I'm floored that Jalen Hurts, the blood clot that kept him out of this Sunday's game for the Eagles against the Panthers, apparently has traveled from his foot area into his lungs. Oh, and as anybody knows, um. You know, if you follow sports, because some athletes have had blood clots, and it's serious. You have to sit down, and you're on blood thinners, and it's dreadful.
That when I heard it was like one to two weeks, I'm like, well, that's good.
Now it's the whole year.
Now he's done for the year. He's going to miss several months, and this is the end of it for 2026. The Eagles put out a statement on this. Talking about, he was initially diagnosed by specialists in London, and then he hops on a plane with deep vein thrombosis. He was it was superficial when I guess he got on the plane, and this is why you don't travel with this sort of stuff.
He's now clinically stable, no significant functional limitations. His treatment should only involve. Anticoagulation, which is blood thinners, during this time he's not going to be allowed to participate in any contact activities, activities including football. His prognosis is good; expect a full recovery. But yeah, we're thinking of him too," says the team.
My gosh! Just the latest example of how you never know in this world, in this league, and in this you know human race, not to be. Overly dramatic, but I love this guy. I love watching him play. I root for him.
I love what he stands for and how he goes about his business. Despite the world seemingly crumbling all around him, he doesn't deserve this. Nobody, you know, does. And I just want to send my best to him. And can't wait to see him back out there on the field.
And as always, you know, when players are done for the year, certainly on a team with. Super Bowl aspirations. You turn to the football aspect of things after we shout out the human side of it, and in terms of football aspects of it, you got to wonder where the Eagles go for here. Tanner McKee has a massive opportunity. All we've heard, whenever he's gotten out there, or whenever the Eagles, you know, keep him on the team that they believe in him.
And there's a statue out in front of the stadium, right, featuring a backup quarterback that took them once upon a time to the winners' podium and himself to the MVP award. I work alongside somebody and Kurt Warner, who is in fact the poster of possibility. And one never knows, but you gotta believe. Despite the fact that the offensive line is completely banged up and changed, and Saquon's not there, the defense is balling out, as we saw against Carolina. But Tanner McKee has an opportunity now.
Normally, though, backup quarterbacks are supposed to be for a four to six week, not week six to week eighteen. But the NFC North is wide open, and we'll talk about. The Giants, the NFC East is wide open. I don't know if I say AFC. Pardon me.
The NFC East is wide open, and we'll talk about JJ McCarthy's opportunity and what he he did for the Giants in a loss yesterday, and what the Commanders can do tonight. Man, could you imagine if they the clock management for them worked in their favor against the Giants? They'd be two and three going in this game against the Niners with a chance to go to five hundred and be in first place. Because the Dallas Cowboys ain't it right now, and this is supposed to be the season for them to make the NFC Championship game for the first time in 30 years because of the way that they handled their business in the draft and acquisition mode. For the defensive side of the ball, and of course, there's the greatest offense there is, as dubbed by the quarterback, Daddy, Dak Prescott.
And in the same way, I mentioned J.J. McCarthy moments ago, and the opportunity that he has for the Giants is we assume the Giants are going to turn to him, but one never knows. As John Harbaugh was playing coy about it afterwards, looking at the tape, but. If we're going to give him grief for calling himself nine before anybody else was giving him a moniker, our friend Dak deserves some because this is not the greatest offense there is at all. Started off a house of fire, but against Tampa and Green Bay, against the Bays, it's it's Widows Bay.
After Tampa and Green had at it. And for those listening on the radio, the photograph we have of Dak right there—this looks like the thousand-yard football stare. Like, what the hell is happening right now? You know, we took our foot off the pedal at the end in Rio, but you know what? We rebounded.
We rebounded coming off of that win. You know, at Houston, we laid it on thick on that Texans D. Caused the head coach there saying, "I'm taking the play calling back." Then laid an egg four days later against Tampa, and then after the mini buy goes to Green Bay in another egg, which it was. First time with four straight games with one pass touchdown or fewer for the Cowboys in three years, weeks three through six, 2023. That ain't got him.
Four point eight yards per pass attempt. This fewest in the game since twenty twenty three, week fifteen. First game with fewer than five yards per attempt and multiple interceptions since twenty eighteen, at the Seahawks in week three. There, fourteen incompletions targeting CD and Pickens. Most in a game since they became teammates last season.
That ain't gaudy. Running game's not gaudy. There's nothing gaudy about anything. Except the fish is being slept with.
Now the defense playing a little better, didn't they? To you, TJ, in all seriousness, and they were talking about it in the booth. They came out more aggressive, but they did give up a touchdown to start the game. Yeah, I mean Jordan Love with the remarkable accomplishment of having a hundred plus throwing yards on an opening drive that only lasted ninety because of the penalty yards that got back, and then he made it up with his throwing yards. Can you imagine it's a ninety-yard drive and he had over a hundred yards passing on it?
They did come with their first interception since Week 15 last season. I almost took to the house if it weren't for I know a finger. But they allowed the Packers to convert on 11 third down attempts. 11.
So they're now two and four. Twenty three thirteen was the final. It felt like a forty point blowout. Maybe it did feel that way because of the number of times Jordan Love hit his superb otherwise receivers in the hands in the end zone, and they didn't corral it. But Brian Schottenheimer had this to say after the game: "The effort is right, the fight is right, but mistakes are killing us." Um.
You know, repeating mistakes is is not what we're about. But you know, we gotta protect the football. Five turnovers in two games, you know, not very good. And we're in a hole. Put ourselves there, and there's one way out of it.
So I told the guys. I said, you know, gotta work. You know, gotta find solutions. Can't repeat mistakes. What else can you say, right?
Yeah, exactly. What else can you say? You believe in your roster, but it's not happening right now. Two and four in a division that is wide open. Listen, Philly fans, I'm always trying to be sunny for them.
Don't panic, relax. It does feel like the season's over there, with the offense being injured and now their quarterback being out for the year. But you never know. Crazier things can happen. Divisions open.
Cowboys have just got to play complete football and get better on defense, and see where it goes from here.
Next up is at Philadelphia. This is a game they got to win. It's just that simple. Going to two and five and losing to an Eagles team that just lost. I mean, the Eagles lose Lane Johnson.
Retirement in the middle of the season and hurts to blood clots in the middle of the season, and they are starting four guys on the offensive line that need to be name tagged for you to know who they are, rather than just seeing them on the back of their jersey nameplate. That's the end of it. It's a Monday night. The whole country is going to be watching. God, he's got to show up.
Problem is, is the defense in Philadelphia is no joke. It's top five. It's championship quality, and Jalen Carter is playing like the defensive player of the year. He just is. And this time around, I assume he's going to say it, not spray it before the game.
Right, right. As C.J. Gardner Johnson did him a favor to remind him if he needed it, what happens when you do that? As he stupidly did. In Las Vegas yesterday, but the division's there for him.
It's right there. It's right there on the doorstep. The Giants are down. Half the division is out without their starting quarterback for the year, and the Commanders can't tell time. And their quarterback is one.
Offensive lineman stepping on his foot, away from being out for a while, too. It's right there. For them, this is the thing that's got to be incredibly frustrating for you too. It's right there, DJ. Oh yeah, I mean, like you said, you have a division where two starting quarterbacks are gone.
We're playing against Tanner McKee last week. Oh, you think? Oh, that's great. Except you look and you see what happened the last time Tanner McKee played against the Cowboys. He put up forty-one on on this.
So that's no, I know he has he has beaten you before. Last week it was Jalen Daniels who was an undrafted free agent.
Next week it's a guy who's now Preston. Service in a way that he's never been pressed, but already holding a dub over us. I know this is kind of comical. I know, and I hate to say it, but I'll say it anyway. You know who on our text chain.
That you've been invited back to our Rich Eisen show, guillotine text text chain. I had to leave. Put out there saying, "No, I put you back in." Oh, you did? I did two weeks ago. No, no, he left last night.
Oh, you left it again? Like a thief in the night. You did? Yeah. I'll put you back later.
There's a commercial coming up in a couple minutes. I'll do it during the break. I miss. I miss that you left again. Yeah, it was like 11:45.
Fantastic. This is going to be like that Simpsons shift. Where you come in the bar and hang up your hat, and then you leave, and you take your hat and you. Leave might be like white snake. Any rate, somebody, somebody in the text chain wrote, "If last week's loss was embarrassing, what's the word for this week's one?" Yeah, I was Don Bowie, our director, right there, and I wrote back, "Typical." That's the problem.
That's why I left the text chain. Is that right? Is that what caused you to leave the text?
Now I didn't see that.
Okay, that's that's the problem. Typical. Yeah, I mean, it's I I sit there and I these things happen and I don't even react sometimes because I expected that.
So it's right there for the taking. Is basically what I'm saying. And you know, I have to. We have to give respect here. As well, respect.
Here is the respect, because if the loss at home to zero and four, starting an undrafted free agent rookie quarterback, was embarrassing, as said by a third party cart driver in the bowels of the stadium. Who's he? I heard his job back with the Rays. I heard that's not true. I heard he did not give.
Okay, well, oh, good. Long story short, that was embarrassing, and I just said. The word for the Sunday night loss was typical. The Packers are playing much better. Since that loss in Lambeau to Atlanta in Week Three, and they're being booed, and Tucker Craft is like, "That's unhelpful," you know.
And then they go to Tampa, and we may learn that Tampa's defense is pretty damn good, and is going to make a lot of quarterbacks look pedestrian. As Aaron Rodgers, who got his ass beat but still hung in there, and needed four and a half quarters to beat Tampa on Sunday, and a very impressive performance by him. Jeremy Bernard and that Steelers team as a whole—you know—they struggled in that one, but won and got back to five hundred. And then against a Chicago team that they wanted to take to the woodshed, they did, and then took the wood off the shed and beat them in the ass with it. To be straight up, by going up top to Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, and the two of them are doing it again.
Against the Dallas Cowboys, hey Matthew Golden. It took him a while till last year's playoffs to finally break through. Yep, right. Um, he figured it out. He became the first Packers player with consecutive 100-yard receiving games within a season since Devonte Adams in 2021.
That's what he's done, and Jordan Love. Followed up that win over the the damn the torpedoes and throw deep baby win over the Bears. He was superb last night. He was taking it in the chops too, man. Two hundred seventy six passing yards.
He had his first rushing touchdown of the season. It snaps a five game streak to start a season with multiple passing touchdowns. But he earned everything, all of it, all of it. And they, you know, got it done. The defense is now allowed 14 or fewer points in three straight games.
They're tightening in a way that we're waiting for the Dallas defense to do. Six straight game with fewer than 100 rushing yards. That's going to change too. We'll talk about that in a second. But it's the you know who leads the league by allowing no points in the first half to start a season.
This team, the Packers, NFL high fifth time allowing no points in the first half since the start of last season. How about that? But it it all comes down in this quarterback driven league, and Love is killing it as the head coach Matt LaFleur was pointing out afterwards. I thought he took a lot of shots too, and he was he was tough, and he keeps battling. And you know, the guys, he's a G.
We talk about playing like a G. He's a G, and he does a great job, just commanding the offense, doing a great great job, converting critical third downs throughout the course of the game.
So I thought he played pretty well.
So he's a a YG, a young. Gangster is that what it is, or is it, or is that just a new phrase that they have for a packer? Because you know the the G, the G. Yeah, I didn't there. I don't think that's how he meant.
Is that what is? Yeah, it's like real G's moving silence.
Okay, like Gagne or Vern Gagne. Yeah. Well, this defense that as I just pointed out has been balling out. Fourteen or fewer points in three straight games—that's tied for the with the Bears from weeks two to through four for the longest streak by any team this season. It's the Packers' longest such streak since 2016, and Michael Parsons is going to come back.
And that run game—that's non-existent. Josh Jacobs coming back. They're only going to get better. Yep. And they're four and two.
Next up, oh baby. Also, at Detroit, those receivers probably aren't going to be dropping those balls that they were dropping yesterday.
Well, either it just goes to show you that even if they aren't one hundred percent, they're still one hundred. They're keeping it that home for Carolina. That's a pretty big one on Thursday night at New England. Home for Minnesota. These next four rubber's going to meet the road.
If they win three out of the four, then you're talking about okay. They have proven their bones this year and can be Super Bowl contenders. They still can if they split them, but they're in the mix for this division. The way that they've been playing since they got booed off their home turf. That team that was on that home turf last night did not look like the team that had the home opener in Lambeau, which is what you're looking for improvement.

The Rich Eisen Show podcast. Back on the Rich Eisen Show, one big happy simulcast family.
So, family, family, family. If you had told me, what if I what if I told you, Rich Eisen, what if I told you we be through six weeks of the National Football League, one team's four and two, another team's two and four. The teams involved are the Rams and the Browns. Poor Browns. Right when you say that, of course, that's what we think.
You'd be, you'd go full Tomlin. Browns are Browns have gone. Browns, the Browns are going to brown. Browns are going to brown. Browns have Browns.
Bro, give me some. Right, that's what I would have said. The Browns are browned.
Well, as a certain coach in in Ohio would say, "F that." And the Rams are two and four, having lost at home. To the new home team in Los Angeles, the Arizona Cardinals. This is a crazy stat right now, because as you know, the Rams beat the Giants in SoFi in Week Two, then lost in Denver, won in Philadelphia, lost at home to Buffalo, and now lost at home to Arizona, which started the year with a win against the Chargers. In SoFi, the Cardinals have won more games in SoFi Stadium this year to this point than the Rams and Chargers have combined. Another stat that you can't make up, because the Rams simply cannot play to this point a full game, mistake-free, all three phases working together.
The defense yesterday was balling out. The offense couldn't put drives together, mistake-free drives, points at the end of the drives together against an Arizona Cardinals team that last week got lit up by the Detroit Lions, which many teams can be, but the Rams are just as talented offensively in my mind as the. Lions are. I mean, the running back group—they're splitting carries between Kyron Williams and my guy Blake Corum—to the point where Kyron was saying, when he was asked about where's the consistency on the drives, and he essentially is like, "Don't ask me, I'm not out there." That was crazy. And so, the run game has not gotten the consistency going.
The passing game. Has been consistent when everybody's healthy, and yesterday they just couldn't put drives together without a turnover. They got a new kicker in what Blake Groupy, Groupy, Balake Garupe, Garupe. I mean. This guy looks like, with all due respect, Steve Rogers before he got the, you know, super serum.
The super serum. Yeah, and he was making a tackle on the kickoff after he nailed his first field goal, causing everybody go, "All right, that's fixed." He's throwing his body around like he's just gotten the super serum. He bounces off a dude is about a hundred pounds bigger than him. What was he thinking? And I don't know what he's thinking.
He wasn't. Just let him go out of bounds. Or I don't listen. Push him, like don't.
So now they're without their kicker, which is getting everybody like that would throw everybody off their game. After they did score a touchdown, they went for two, which is not their forte.
Somehow, I mean, this is one of the greatest offensive. They never go play callers out there, and for the life of them, what they haven't had a two point conversion in three years, right? And sure enough. Sure enough, even though Greg Olson's on the call saying about every single time the Cardinals are kicking field goals because the defense was bending and did not break.
Okay, that if you settle for field goals, you're gonna lose against the Rams. The same thing is that if you do not put points on the board yourself, if you do not play mistake-free football, and your kicker. Decides to throw his body around like he's Captain America. You are inviting the refs to screw it up for you, and sure enough, after the Rams score a touchdown for a second time with hardly any time left, and they bring their punter in for the extra point, and it looked like good from sixty. He crushed it.
Ethan Evans was like going to be in my mind the special teams player of the week in the NFC. Even though Chad Ryland made five, um, they making enough of an issue out of keeping the Cardinals in the game that they allowed Ryland to make a sixth. And how do they get the field position? A throw over the middle. And in a fifteen-yard penalty that I thought replay assist was given full reign to correct on replay.
Fifteen-yard penalties, roughing penalties that you can now take a look at in replay and say that ain't it. Pick it up. Because they don't want to put a flag down for it, that's never going to happen. And I understand where the league is loath to go in that direction, but it's there to pick a flag up. And Josh Wallace, my Wolverine, a second time now, getting hosed because he did make some sort of graze contact to the.
Chin area with the top of his helmet, but he's just making a tackle on a guy who's making a circus catch, and you're adding 15 yards on top of it. I thought for sure they'd pick the flag up. They didn't. Wallace, as you know, was the one who came up with the game sealing interception for a win in Denver that was ruled pass interference against him, even though he was getting dragged by Pat Bryant across the field, and the league. Apologized to McVeigh and then wrist slapped McVeigh for letting that information go public.
He's now in the center of it again. Fifteen more yards, Chad Ryland with no time left. Field goal, and now the Rams are two and four. And because they lost the two and four Cardinals, I can't believe this. They are in last place in the NFC West through six weeks.
They are so much better than this. They know it. Anyone with a set of eyes knows it. But the NFL is a league, just like I guess most other sports leagues. But Bill Parcells famously said, "You are what you are," and what they are is a mistake-prone, two-and-four team laden with talent.
And at some point, Miles Garrett's going to take off that hat and put on a helmet. And get out there with Aaron Donald and this defense that did its job yesterday by keeping their opponent out of the end zone. Sean McVay was asked about his team's identity after the game and gave this short answer: "What's the identity of this team right now? Yeah, we're figuring out. I can't answer that right now.
Yeah, that's a dude who's just like stunned. I don't blame him. I don't blame him." This was the way he walked off the podium because he was asked fifteen different ways about what's wrong. I mean, it's the typical "gotta play better" and then. Here, roll it.
Good humbling day, you know. Collectively, even if we had come away with the result, there's just it's not good enough. You know, there's just so many things that aren't in alignment with what we need to be able to do, and you know, we got to be able to figure it out. And it starts with me. And you know, I got I got to be able to have some better answers so that I'm not up here saying the same things to you guys.
Yep, that was it.
Okay, took his notes and left.
Next up are the Vegas Raiders, who can beat this team if they are mistake prone. It's a fact. Which would make Akbar Bajaj Biamillo, who came in here and played the win loss game, called the Raiders a twelve and five team, starting three and zero, and then going zero and three, only beating the Rams, which may have been at that point in time the craziest concept—not the three and zero, and certainly not the zero and three against those opponents—but then saying we're going to beat the Rams after losing three in a row. I'll tell you what the Rams have got to get the kicking game right, the kicking coverage game right. I guess they're going to go back to the field goal kicker store.
Hopefully, Devontae Adams is healthy. He had some sort of non-contact limp off towards the end of the game. Yeah. And then there's the Chargers, who are winless, oh and six. Good lord.
Visits to Washington in Arizona. That's got to be a a get back at them game. They can win the next four, even if they go three and one. They're five and five going to the bye. Once upon a time, Tom Brady was five hundred at Thanksgiving week and then went on a run and won the Super Bowl because he had a talented enough team and was talented enough as a quarterback.
And this team is that too. I'm not. If anybody thinks I'm jumping ship, I'm not. But that won't surprise anybody. I've been talking about the Rams and capping for him.
But I'll tell you, two and four. I'm considering dropping them out of my power rankings this week. I'm sure you won't. Oh, by the way, the comments I'm getting. I'm getting them too.
You, you're getting them. Yeah. Oh, you're getting them. Time out. It's your own.
You don't own my take. I don't. But I'm getting a lot of tweets, kind of making fun of you. Honestly. Oh, time out.
Time out. You guys read the comments after constantly telling me don't read the comments. I'm shocked. No, we do because we can handle them. You're too sensitive.
However, we're trying to help you. Oh, really?
Okay. Let you tell it. You can go home now. But that was that was a stunner. And by the way, in one of the Survivor pools I'm in, I think it wiped out three quarters of the teams.
I mean, between the Colts and the Ravens losing, right? Survivor should be over. Anyway, headline is I'm not jumping ship. As for the Cleveland Browns, my gosh, three quarters of Absolutely, like stick needles in your eyes. Offensive execution and results, and in the fourth quarter, Deshaun Watson steps up and he starts slinging it around.
Second time he's led a game-winning drive against the Ravens as a member of the Browns before he got hurt, and then we hadn't seen him since then. Twenty twenty-three, he did it. He's the first Browns player to do that against the Ravens, and as you know, in that town, that's that's it. You beat this team. Schmidt happened again.
He missed it when it was really Schmidt happened, and then he got a chance, and then he wins it. Yeah. And and the Browns are leading the AFC North because the Ravens go in defensively balled out. But just like the Rams, let the other team hang around. They weren't hosed by a penalty like the Rams were towards the end.
But they let them hang around. Snoop Huntley didn't put up enough points like he did the week before against Atlanta. Yeah, Luke missed a forty-nine yarder, which is really rare. Yeah, he's been on fire. And the Browns trailed ten nothing at half and won thirteen to ten.
And look who's in first place. In the AFC North, because they have a home win against the Steelers, who are equally four and two, and a home win against the Ravens, Ravens who are equally four and two, and good lord, it's crazy. The last time they led the AFC North this deep into the season was Week Ten, twenty fourteen. My gosh. Twelve years ago.
Wow! All right, hold on. I look this season up. Which, interestingly enough, I must say, was the last time the Rams lost without allowing a touchdown for the Jeff Fisher, Brian Schottenheimer offensive-coordinated St. Louis Rams.
Yeah. So both these teams playing like it's 2014 again. Except one team doesn't want to play like that, and the other team does. And the Browns are four and two without Miles Garrett, and Jared Verse really hasn't balled out yet. But defensively, they are stout.
And Todd Munkin beats his former team. He was the OC there for a while. Cut loose when John Harbaugh was cut loose. And he had this to say after beating his former team at home for the AFC North leading yes, AFC North leading four and two Cleveland Browns. These are the nights that you don't ever want to end.
Cause you know tomorrow, it's on to the next game, and so I sit there. I know it sounds really goofy, but you sit there in bed, and you don't want the night end. It's ten thirty, and you're tired as hell, and you want to be up another fifteen, twenty, thirty minutes to enjoy it. Cause you know tomorrow I gotta look at the offensive tape, and then you gotta move on to the next game, and. You know, until we get things squared away and move in this direction offensively, every game is going to be a scratch and claw like this.
And I love that type of game with the guys we have. We're wired for that. Our guys are wired for that.
Now, I prefer the other, but we're wired for that. And man, so cool.
So, Munken, who, as you know, I like to have pointed out that he sounds like Bill Parcells.
Somebody put out there on social media calling him "Chill Parcells," but that sounded like a a country music song. Right, like we should set that to music. Oh man, you know these are nights that you don't ever want to end because tomorrow it's on to the next game.
So I sit there. I know it sounds really goofy, but you sit there in bed and you don't want the night to end. It's ten thirty, and you're tired as hell, and you want to be up another fifteen, twenty, thirty minutes to enjoy it because. S tomorrow. I've got to look at the offensive tape, and then you got to move on to the next game.
Doesn't that sound like? I feel like it should be set to like we should get Trace Atkins back in here to to put it to music.
Well, you've seen those things on social media where people have like their text conversations turned into a song. I feel like there's an AI app that can do that. What's the song called? Like nights you never want to end. Yeah, nights that never want to end.
Nights. You know what I mean? It sounds like you're sitting the Browns. Season of Music, I know, and they trade away Miles Garrett.
Well, all they had to do was trade away a Hall of Famer, Miles. It's crazy. I hope this goes better though than the 2014 season, Rich. You mentioned in Week Ten, 2014, they were six and three, and they only won one game. Who was the head coach?
I bet you. I think it's right. I think it's the new defensive assistant that they just hired, Mike Patton. And yeah, I remember that. Twenty-four.
Was that? Was there a Thursday night game in Cincinnati? I think we were there for that. It was Cleveland at Cincinnati. Yeah, that got them to six and three.
Yeah, buddy, I was there that night. Brian Hoyer was the quarterback, right? Correct. For Cleveland, yes. Let's check.
Their offensive coordinator was Kyle Shanahan. Oh yeah, wasn't it? Wasn't it Brian Hoyer? I believe it was. We got a name for that song though, Rich.
Oh my God, the slowest Googler on planet Earth, dude! I had a pop up. What do you want me to do? It was Brian Hoyer. Thank you.
Gosh, calm down. Can't make it up, man. Can't make it up. The Browns are four and two, and their next games—they pack your suitcase at Tennessee, at Pittsburgh, and you know they want a piece back. And then at New Orleans before home for Houston and a bye.
Oh my God! A Deshaun Watson back in Houston game too. Good Lord! I mean, they got to be seven and three, or I don't know. They could be six and three again.
Oh man! And then we'll see what happens. No way they sweep Pittsburgh though. I would agree with that. I would probably.
Oh, Cam Hayward wants a piece. They all do. Yeah, yeah. I mean, they all do. Those rivals.
Hey, the way the Steelers are playing, look out! Fun. The North's open here, Coach. The North remembers. Let's take a break.

Marcus Spears is coming up, but all it took was six weeks of Indianapolis Colts action for owner Carly Ursey Gordon to turn to the Tennessee Titans sideline and say that can't come into our house and beat us. Without me taking some course of action, after we have dropped another game, and we're the first team the Titans beat in our division, that ain't happening.
So Chris Ballard, the general manager, has been fired. Our friend of the program was relieved of his duties today, and the statement from Colts owner Charlie Irsey Gordon. If you want to put it up on the screen. The gratefulness to Chris was mentioned, and then here comes the money paragraph. As I said at the start of the season, the sense of urgency has never been higher.
Our standard is to compete for championships, and I believe a change in leadership is necessary to meet that standard. Making this change during the season was a deliberate decision. Waiting would only delay the important work that needs to begin now. They're going to conduct a thorough search. I also want to be clear: this is the muddy paragraph.
Pardon me. This decision does not change our goals for the season. We have a lot of football in front of us, and I expect to compete, improve, and win football games. Which means Shane Steichen. Yep.
Okay. The on coach of the two and four Colts. Needs to go on a Steve Fisher type run, nineteen eighty nine, to keep his job. Seems like it. And here is the deal: they got to get better play from their quarterback.
That's it. You know, the it doesn't help that Tyler Warren was hurt. You know, and I guess the GM that's like, let's trade away Pittman, and the GM's like, let's draft Anthony Richardson. Two firsts for sauce. Two firsts for sauce.
Who's now week to week with an injury? Or let's give Alec Pierce, you know, one hundred fifty. And he's out for the season. That doesn't help. That these these these decisions he made that are expensive in terms of dollars, capital, and draft choices are now working out.
And when you are two and four with two straight, oh, with a second two game losing streak in a row, and one of your best acquisitions. And DeForest Buckner says this after the game: "It's trouble." I'm pissed off too. I mean, I'm sick and tired of the same song and dance every every year.
So, yeah. I mean, he is pissed, and so is Carly Orsay Gordon. I know so much is made of her taking notes on the sideline, et cetera, so on and so forth. But this is not her first rodeo, and. Making decisions, her dad was the one who was atop the flow chart when he was alive.
But she's writing everything down, as we know, and so much is made of that. But she's listening in, so she knows about the roster decisions that were made when they were made, and she also knows what they're doing and what's being asked of them, and if somebody's not executing, she knows it. She hears it, so she's informed. And she's in charge, and I think Colts fans would would definitely agree that something needs to change. And again, if Shane Steichen does not go on a run, there's no way they're hiring another general manager and saying you got to stick with this guy.
And expect to get a general manager that is happy to say I'll I'll take on your your team without first round draft choices. And I'll take on your team with a wide receiver that's making a lot of money that didn't play but a lick this year, and figure out your quarterback situation. I'll do that for you. Oh, wait a minute! I I got to keep the coach.
That might be a hard pass for some.
So the coach has got to go on a big run, and the question is, can they do it? Thanks for listening to the Rich Eisen Show podcast.
