In about twenty minutes, Jerry Palm is going to join us. Bracketologist. playoffologist College sportsologist, he will be here with us. to discuss The reveal of the college football playoffs. We're going to get the first editions Of the rankings in just a matter of minutes.
So, we'll give you an update on that when that takes place. We'll have a chat with Jerry Palm about it in about 20 minutes, and we've discussed a lot. We just talked about the future of Kyler Murray with the Arizona Cardinals. Jacoby Brissette is lined up to get their next start. As Kyler Murray still deals with his foot issue, please believe it.
They're not trying to rush him back. We talked about the trades that took place. Sauce Gardner from the Jets to the Colts for two first-rounders, Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, Rashid. Shahid on his way. That's of the Seattle Seahawks.
Yeah, we we've talked about A lot. If you want to be a part of the show, You can't. 888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-4IS-STN. four I S N.
You can find me online. I exist everywhere. At J R Sport brief. Wow. Here they go.
gonna basically uh take forever here. with the college football playoff. Bacha, how do you know how long they've scheduled this stupid show? I think it's an hour long. Which is absurd.
It's either thirty minutes or an hour, one of the two.
Well, they they got this uh basketball game coming on after.
So, at eight forty five they got a game that's coming on. Uh what does that say? Texas and Duke. And so I would assume that this show will only be 30 minutes. You say it's absurd, but that's the drama of television, right?
Yeah, but Certain things you can draw that out with. Just the first official ranking for the College Bowl playoff. I can I don't know, there's gonna be a couple more of these, so I don't know how much drama there is behind this one.
Well, it's entertainment, Bacha. You got to keep people informed and entertained. You got to go to a commercial break before you do it. There's a rhyme and a reason to all of this. I know, I know.
It's just. My question is. I feel that for each of these playoff reveals, they intentionally misrank something or or do something to get a click. Knowing that they'll have time to fix it.
So that's just that's that's where it gets annoying. With these draft shows and the playoff shows.
Well, absolutely.
So we have to wait and see. where the controversial element comes in at. And so for instance Do you think we will see? Indiana in any type of way be ranked above Ohio State. Yeah, no, I don't think so.
I just think Ohio State's got the name. If you want to rock the boat, You do something like that. Don't you? You upset everybody with Ohio State. You put Indiana in front of them.
People think this election, and by the way. This is all Entertainment. Like to what you said, Bach, or to what I just said, man, I don't get up in arms about any of this stupid stuff. They're going to have an opportunity to go out there, all of these teams. And make their case on the football field.
They've had an opportunity to make their case on the football field. All season long, and so anybody who is ultimately going to beef, and this is the first edition of the college football playoff reveal, this is the first one. Anybody who beefs When we actually get down to the the real twelve. Just get over it.
Okay, you've been playing football since the end of August. You should have taken care of your business. Like it bothered me even last night just completely unrelated. Man, we had jail in Brown Complaining about a no-foul call. And he actually.
told the media He's like, Listen, y'all, The referees cost us the game. Because they didn't call a foul. Like, we have to do better. The referees cost us the game. No, no, you cost yourself the game.
I don't uh so for the life of me, I don't understand. why people can't look at the entirety of what they did. Everything has to come down to that final second, that final play, and we got to blame the referee who's also human. What about the mistakes that the referee made throughout the game? What about the mistake that benefited you?
What about the mistake that benefited the opposition? I'm not going to say that things are necessarily always just going to go out there and even out. But you you just you gotta handle what you can handle and not place the blame. On somebody else. And so when it comes to the college football playoff.
Yeah, there there's gonna be people complaining. We didn't get in and our strength of schedule was dissent. People are gonna yell and argue and scream about this on the radio and television for the next month. Get Over it. As simple as that, get over it.
Okay, handle b you play the game, go win. It's like if Deion Sanders woke up and said, Oh my god, why are we not in Well, you suck.
Okay, the team is bad. You don't even know who your QB is. And so we got some teams that we do know. When the rankings come out. And let's see when they start doing these damn rankings.
It should be any minute now, to see what the anticipation is. We know that the undefeated teams. are gonna be there.
Okay, the Ohio States, Indiana, Texas AM. But then you have some other teams. Man, they've taken some losses.
Okay, we got a squad like Miami. How how does Miami Fit in into any of this.
Okay, we got teams that have one loss, like my Georgia Bulldogs, right down the road from me here in Athens. You know, how do they shake out? Then here we go, botcha, they've started. How about that? Yeah.
25 is also a lot of teams too. I'm I don't think of the whole picture, but it's still a lot. Yeah, well, they they're gonna zoom through these teams like nobody's business. 'Cause these are the teams basically half of well, h yeah, almost half of these teams ain't gonna make it. Tennessee is twenty five, Pitt is twenty fourth.
And so as they go through these rankings here, At what point? Let's play production. At what point do you think they stop? When they get to 15, they take a commercial? I would say 15.
Just because you could do you could like tease who's on the bubble of the playoff. And then you can come back. Yeah. They got the Washington Huskies here at twenty three. Yeah, they got Missouri is here at 6-2.
I mean, we moved into the two lost teams. as it stands right now.
So we got Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Washington, Missouri.
So we add here a number twenty one. Ibachi, you know what else is highly unfortunate about this uh college football player? Oh, Michigan. Yeah, nobody think about them. You know what's unfortunate?
That this is uh still not on YouTube TV for anybody paying for it. Hey, uh they have some time till the playoff games start. It's just... If not, Go to a friend's house Go go out, go to a bar. If you watch them watch them.
To watch ESPN? It's it's I know cont contrary to many belief, It is it is an option that you can go out and talk to people and Experience. You got some nerve talking about going outside. I will go to the bar to watch a game. Will it be a good game?
Most likely not, but I will go out to watch those.
Okay.
Alright. look at you with some of uh advice. You know what? It's probably even cheaper It's cheaper to go to the bar and watch a game than, uh Pay for YouTube TV, right? How much is that thing?
It said it's $73 a month? $70 a month. Just about. And I don't know how much I'll watch outside of the main ESPN games. You can get a beer for about five dollars.
Yeah, that that prices out so I can get Yeah. You're going to have what? You're going to have 12 beers? I can have 12 for the price of one YouTube TV.
So if you spread that out, spread that out over a month. You know, that's. Three beers a week. Yeah, that's well, that's that that's some good math. And you get the beer and you get every game.
You're correct. Unless there's a cover. Don't go to a bar with cover fees. A bar, where are you going where you gotta pay to get in? No, I haven't gone to a cover bar yet for football games and whatnot, but there are bars in New York where you have to pay to get in.
Throw that out the window. We got Miami. I just told you about Miami. Miami. Is ranked 18th.
The people were kissing their ass to come. Bachelor wasn't there that guy calling me about Carson Beck. Yeah. And you're you're that he questioned why you didn't like him. And I think the last Two weeks.
I've proven why. Yeah, we found out a great quarterback. Yeah, we we've seen that. Heisman this and Heisman that, NFL this, NFL that not happening. Georgia Tech, after their first loss, they've taken a big old tumble.
I don't know, disappointing for the Georgia Tech people. They're a couple blocks from me here. A Georgia Tech is ranked seventeenth. Yeah, now we're getting into the nitty-gritty here. These are teams that have taken a loss.
Over the past week, past couple of weeks, we got Vanderbilt. Your Vanderbilt over here at I Ranked at number sixteenth, overall of the college football playoff, this first ranking edition. Oh, they still rolling. Louisville, the Cardinals Are here at number fifteen Let's see how this continues to roll on. They're going to have to make a commercial break stop.
I'm going to anticipate that any moment now.
Okay, we got Virginia. Shout out to the Cavaliers. Yeah, they're they're uh they're here ranked at fourteen.
So, Botch, are they really gonna stop at 12 and then cut they're gonna go to 13 and make a break, huh? I don't know. The way this graphic looks on the screen, I think they're gonna get to 10. and then do the top ten. No, well, you gotta Who's that?
Oh Utah, okay, we got we got the Utes here. At number thirteen. And so Now we're going to figure out who they have in the top twelve.
So you got Utah, Virginia, and Louisville. These would be teams on the bubble. Also, by the way, the reality is, ain't none of these teams winning the championship.
So let's get on to brass tacks and get to the uh The top 12 here. Man, the fact that they've expanded the College Football Playoff to 12 teams, and nobody can no longer complain and whine about, oh my God, it's only four, and they selected four teams, and this team didn't get in. Yeah, you got 12 teams. Everybody got a shot. Everybody basically has an opportunity.
Let's move forward. And now ESPN is holding us. Here we go.
Okay, we got Oklahoma at number 12.
Okay, so be it. Not a shock, not a surprise there. We're talking about Another team that's sitting around with with two losses But where things are going to get interesting is how you start shaking out between the the Georgias and the Alabamas. Oh, we got Texas. How about that?
The Longhorns. are ranked at at number eleven. No surprises here. I'm surprised they've gone this far without stopping. Walk dh They what are they now gonna do?
Top three? Maybe it's top. Top ten, top five? Maybe we're up to here with Texas at 11. Hey, by the time we have Jerry Palm here in about 10 minutes, you think we'll have the whole thing completed?
Probably not. I think we'll have a a good idea. Of it, maybe the top five won't be revealed. Yeah, well, we know the top five. We know Ohio State, Texas AM, Indiana, Alabama, I think Georgia.
How many teams I just named? Four or five. Four. Oh, here we go. We got uh Notre Dame at at number ten.
And then with the new format the way you have it, you gotta sl uh slap BYU in there. BYU may actually be sitting at number five. That'll probably be the fifth team knowing the fact that they are undefeated. Even though they're not in the the power for Still sounds weird to say power four and not power five. Fighting Irish.
Here we go.
Now, Notre Dame gets a graphic.
So now that we've gotten into the top 10. Things are certainly going to get interesting.
So we'll keep you up to date. as they uh kind of whittle things down here in the college football playoff, They're going through with the first ranking, the first reveal. Uh, this is the first week. I can't believe we're already I don't want to say towards the end of the college football playoff season, but we don't have too much time left. We're going to blink.
And things are just gonna just Poof They're going to disappear. We got we got a couple of teams, only got three games left on the schedule. And the next thing you know, we're going to be a month away And we're going to be looking at the first round of the playoff. Here we got the Oregon Ducks. Oregon.
at seven and one, and we know Oregon their only loss came down to to Indiana when they beat em. of thirty to twenty, And so the ducks are here at number nine. And we got a seven and one team, so I'm going to assume that Georgia and Alabama will probably be up next year. Maybe in Nada. That eight This range We already got Virginia who's who's ranked.
Yeah, Bacha, they're gonna milk this. And so let's get ready. To go ahead and take a break.
Okay, when we come back on the other side, let's have a chat with an expert. This man, Jerry Palm. He knows all things about college sports, all things about college athletics. It doesn't matter if it's the college football playoff or whether or not you just want to go ahead. and take a look At March Madness, but it's not March, it's November.
We're going to have a conversation with Jerry Palm on the other side of the break. Let's get his thoughts. On how this college football playoff is shaping up to be. How about this? We got Texas Tech here.
At number eight, yeah.
Now we're getting into the one-loss team.
So we're going to have even more of an update when we come back on the other side. We'll talk about the playoff, the rankings. We'll do that with Jerry Palmer on the other side. BYU coming in. At number seven, undefeated.
At 8-0. Yeah, they're going to put the Georgia Bulldogs in front of them, they're going to put Alabama in front of them.
Well, damn, Botcher, we we're making some headway here, aren't we? Maybe they are just gonna do it straight through and we were just really under underestimating how quick Yeah. Nah, you can't do that.
Okay, we got old miss. Yeah, can't forget old miss. Old miss here at uh At number six, It's gonna give Lane Kiffin something to complain about. I'm pretty sure he'll be on Twitter any second now. At least he's in front of BYU, so he can't complain about that.
I know he would have certainly appreciated. Appreciate that.
So now we're down to the final five. Schools, which is going to boil down to Georgia, Alabama, Texas, AM, Indiana. And Ohio State. That is pretty much a given, and I'm going to expect Ohio State. Uh to end up at number one.
Here we go.
We got the Georgia Bulldogs at five. I know Alabama's probably gonna end up here at at four. Yep, there we go. Damn bachelor yeah, I thought we were gonna get a commercial here or something. This is the new era of ESPN, question mark?
Maybe it's different. Texas AM is at number three. And so now do they go to commercial or do they just go right through?
Well It's just flip a coin. Do you like Indiana more or do you like Ohio State at this point? No, it gotta be Ohio State.
Well, that's the drama, but I guess they don't want none. This is just news. Maybe it's good. No drama, just straight facts. Yeah, we know ESPN likes to lie about everything.
They say something's going to start at eight o'clock, it starts at eight thirty. They tell you they're going to do something and they just they wait. Here we go.
Yep, it's done. Indiana number two. Ohio State ranked at number one overall. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we'll get Jerry Palm's thoughts on this college football playoff ranking in the reveal.
Any shocks, any surprises to him? And certainly at the top of the rankings, things look. As they were to be expected, we'll get Jerry's thoughts on the other side of the break. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. The first edition Of the college football playoff has been revealed. We have the Ohio state at number one, Indiana at two, Texas AM at three, Alabama at five. Four. Okay, to talk about this list that we just got live on ESPN.
Are there any surprises? Any teams that need to maybe make some moves the rest of the season so they can get into the playoff? Joining us right now is someone who covers all things college athletics. You can check them out at palmbrackets.com. Welcome back to the show, Jerry Palm.
Jerry, how are you, man? I'm all right. How are you? Very well.
Well, we just saw the rankings. I don't think there was anything surprising or shocking at the top. I just rattled off Ohio State, Indiana, Texas, AM, Alabama, and Georgia. Ole Miss at six. BYU undefeated there at number seven.
What caught your attention, either in the top 12 or elsewhere? Yeah, I think that You know, it was, um I think pretty easy to predict really what this committee was going to do. I think you had some pretty clear lines. strength of schedules are still being sorted out as especially for the the major conferences which most of these rankings are going to be the teams in these rankings are going to be is um you know, they're some of these schedules are pretty backloaded.
So they're not going to get their schedule really built up until we get through the end. And especially as you get some of these rivalry games at the end.
So It's yeah, I think there's not much of a surprise there. Certainly those teams that you listed at the top of these rankings very little in the way of surprises. There's no group of five team in these rankings, so that's interesting as well.
Now, the one of those teams, you know, because five there are five conference ch champions that automatically gets in, which means at least one. from the group of five, one conference champion. And if none of them are in the ranking, In the final rankings as well, then the committee will just choose that team, that that fifth conference champion. Jerry Palm is here with us from PalmBrackets.com. No surprises here on the rankings, but I think overall for the season.
Indiana. I mean, everything from beating the Ducks and smashing Illinois and given Kurt Signetti that extension, I mean, it's inevitable that we're going to see Indiana and Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game. What are your thoughts on what Indiana has been able to do up until this point? Yeah, just it's really a remarkable turnaround. And of course, part of it is a function of our new era, right?
With the NIL and all of this money available to turn rosters, entire rosters over. The way that you know, if you have enough money, you can do that kind of thing. In Indiana, Decided that they were going to invest in football. And they went out and they got Kurt Signetti, and they devoted a lot of money to roster building, and it was pretty successful last year. They couldn't beat the good teams, you know, the very good teams.
but they had a great record. They didn't lose the teams they shouldn't lose to this year They go into Oregon and they win that game, and now you're thinking, okay, this team is actually for real in terms of being an actual national title contender. You didn't quite get that feeling about them last year, but this year's team.
Now you have to believe is going to be part of that short list of teams that people are talking about when the playoff bracket's announced. I am. Uh Their quarterback, Freddie Mendoza, has been tremendous. What a find he's been for that team. And it's really.
uh pushed this team to another level. even from last year and it's weird. As someone from Indiana to talk about Indiana football like this when they have been horrible. for decades uh with the you know the occasional winning season here and there. You know, if you'd have told somebody in 1987, When they won their last basketball title, they might win another basketball title someday, but the football team has to win one first.
You know, You think, okay, that's never going to happen.
Well, it could happen this year. That that could happen. It could happen.
Well, we know Ohio State, we saw right out of the gate they went out there and beat Texas after that game. People started to beat up on Arch Manning. But Ohio State's defense as elite, Julian Sand, has been playing out of his mind as well. And it just seems that, for all things considered, Ohio State and Ryan Day, they look great last year. And I guess it's a good thing that things are quiet this year.
Yeah, but they might actually be better this year. Yeah, it's hard to say that really because they've been better in the regular season than last year. You remember last year they didn't get a buy, they had the had to work their way through uh you know, from the uh play in game round. all the way through to the title.
Well, this year they're going to get a buy. And they're probably going to be considered the favorite. if they don't stub their toe between now and then and that that could happen because you've got an Ohio State, Indiana Big Ten championship game pretty much locked in at this point.
So, yeah, they look terrific. Yes, they've been good. Their defense is tremendous. You know, they Arch Manning did not have a good game against them. And everybody's ripping on Manning and I'm j and I'm just saying that Ohio State does that to a lot of teams.
They make a lot of good teams look bad. That's why they're so good. And You know, uh he struggled most of the season Manning has. I'm sorry I'm getting off your question here, but Um he really looked good last time out, so maybe things the lights coming on for him. Possibly Jerry Palm is here with us from palmbrackets.com.
There's a couple of teams that are on the outside looking in. They've looked good throughout the course of the season, but have taken some L's. We saw Georgia Tech just go out there and lose to NC State. They've fallen in the rankings. Miami hasn't looked good.
Carson Beck looks like he's come back down to earth. What do you think their prospects are on still ultimately getting into the playoffs? Are they too far gone at this point?
Well, I don't know that they even control their own. It's a Georgia Tech you're talking about, right? I don't know that they even control their own date for the conference title now. getting into the championship game. Uh that league is a mess.
And NC States had something to do with it because they'd be two of the contenders. Um, but it's yeah, Louisville looks Yo, Miami looked like the the best team for the first half of the season. And they were really hot. And then Louisville beats them at their place. And now Louisville looks like the best team.
Georgia Tech schedule. has has been really bad. They I don't think they played a ranked team yet. a team that's currently in the rankings yet. And they will play Georgia at the end.
But for them to be an at-large team. you know, for the playoff, they're probably going to have to beat Georgia. And I guess we've seen stranger things happen, but if they don't beat Georgia and they don't make the ACC title game, Top twelve may be difficult for them to attain.
Well, one scene that we know is is pretty much undefeated at this point, They beat LSU. They got Mizzou coming up next. Texas AM. You want to talk about being a quiet, undefeated, Uh Was there a full expectation that they would be doing this at this point this year? I don't think that people had Texas AM on their short list of teams to win that league.
I mean, Texas, of course, Alabama. Georgia, the usual suspects. I don't think anybody really thought AM would be there, but they won at Notre Dame, which was big for them. Uh it's Now Their only win over team currently in the ranking.
So their schedule hasn't been great, but they do have. Mizzou this week is a ranked team and probably will be at the end. And they have Texas at the end of the season, of course, and those are both road games.
So A and M is going to get tested again. The three best teams that they will have played will have all been road games.
So, if they get through this and they get to an SEC title game, they've really earned that spot.
Well, Jerry, we know one team that if the playoff would be today, we know that's not the case. That happens to be Texas, who you just mentioned. They finish up their season against Texas. AM. And we know that Arch Manning hasn't been consistent.
There's been the ups and the downs. The defense has really carried them. What are your thoughts on Texas for the rest of the season? Yeah, they've boy, they have a difficult schedule. Um Texas has got to play Probably more ranked teams than anybody in that league over the course of the full season.
Uh but they have Vanderbilt At home, they're in the top 15. They have to go to Georgia. They finish with AM, that's two top five teams.
So If they get through even it Ten and two that's going to be pretty impressive against a really good schedule that also we talked about earlier included Ohio State.
So that's that's um that would be a pretty good accomplishment. I think the ten and two tack the Has a pretty good shot to be in that Final Twelve if they can get there, but they're going to have to beat at least one good team to do that. Yet no massive surprises here with this new Well now it's more than one year, this twelve uh team bracket. A at what point do you think we're gonna get an expansion on the the college football playoff? It seems that twelve is okay.
I mean we've advanced past the four that were automatically selected and placed there. When can we realistically look at an expansion?
Well, probably not till the T V deal is up, which I think we've only got. you know, is it this year maybe one more? Um so I I think as soon as Yeah. you know, get free to a point where they can head take a new bracket to C V providers and and broadcasters and have something to negotiate with. Then I think they'll go ahead and do it.
I don't know if it'll be 14 or 16. If you're going to expand, you might as well go to 16 because it makes for a nice looking bracket. Um but Uh I don't know if they have thoughts of doing more than that. And of course, The Big Ten Commissioner has talked about Having automatic, you know, like four automatic berths for his league and four for the SEC. Yeah, I'm not in favor of that.
Go out and earn 'em. If you're if you're really that good, just go earn 'em.
Well, I mean, Jerry, even outside of of what we already have at twelve, I mean, sure, you have the entertainment value, and you got to have people watch and pay attention and have schools invested, and we know it's all about cash. Is twelve even necessary and now we want to attack one more?
Well, is it necessary? but you're not adding another round to the tournament. You're going to have a 12-team bracket and a 16-team bracket go just as deep. It's just that there's. fewer games in that first round than you would have It was sixteen team brackets.
So I I think it's all right. You know, you don't wanna what you don't want is for somebody else to have to play, you know, like a fourth game. to win. You know?
So as long as you're not having games adding teams to the bracket is okay. once you get past sixteen, then you've got a problem because now you're making the the the a team coming from that first round have to win what, four times? to to be a champion. And I think that's just asking too much. Yeah, well we'll we'll see what happens.
That's a couple of years out, and we just got the first release. Of the college football playoff rankings. I can't believe it. We're going to blink, and it's going to be a little bit more than a month. We're already going to be staring at the first round of the playoff.

I was Ain't no Trey Young, so I don't know how interested people are in it. What a nationally televised game that's going to be. Matter of fact, But speaking of basketball, Carmelo Anthony went at Phil Jackson. And then speaking of college basketball, this is kind of crazy. Carmelo Anthony's son.
Kyan is playing at Syracuse. Like, what world am I living in to have watched Carmelo at Syracuse? I've watched Carmelo's whole career.
Now I'm watching his son. Very interesting experience. We'll talk some basketball on the other side of the break. The phone lines are open if you want to give a holler. 888-710-4ISN.

It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast. on the Infiniti Sports Network. Thank you so much to Jerry Palm for joining us in the last break to talk about the college football playoff rankings. Oh yeah, we got the first reveal. We'll get the next ranking and reveal next week.
And yeah, so this is just the first, okay?
So we got plenty of time to see who's in and who's out. And I know as we get a little bit further on over the next month, we're going to have plenty of people who are going to be out here. complaining.
Okay, so we'll we'll see. Speaking of complaining, I can't believe this is on. Nationally Televised Game The Atlanta Hawks are beating the Orlando Magic 32 to twenty three. Right down the road hear from me in downtown Atlanta. at State Farm Arena.
You know, Bacha, it's just cra I'm not used to seeing the Atlanta Hawks in nationally televised anything. Hey, it's just... Maybe if they're just trying to pr promote every team, there's so many different ways to watch basketball now. I think all of these platforms are gonna have random games that no one really is locked into. Yeah, and it it's still crazy to think that We got basketball on what do you call this?
Broadcast television. And so that's what makes it weird. You know, every now and then, yeah, sure, fine, you'll get a. You'll get a Hawks or you'll get a Magic game, and it'll be on ESPN or would have been on TNT. We know there's no more basketball on TNT.
But just to see basketball on NBC. is still wi wild. And to see the hawks On broadcast television is even wilder. It really just stinks that there is no Trey Young. Um Botcha, let me tell you.
I I go to as many Hawks games as I can get out to The arena is only about ten minutes here from the studio that I'm in. It is just, um You know, I I go to enough Hawks games where I just go Who the hell is that guy? And I mean, these are guys that we watch locally and people know them, but America doesn't know who the hell these guys are. Yeah, you guys are playing right now. A point guard, number two.
I have no idea who that is. Uh Wallace, that's uh Kaysen's brother. I don't know I know Kaysen Wallace. I don't know who this wallin is. Yeah.
And then you got Porzingis out there who's just every time Porzingis plays, like, Oh, hey, God bless him, he can still run up and down the court. We got Luke Kennard who just got here. Zachary Risachet. Yet not exactly a team. Dyson Daniels is helping to run point guard.
You you know Mo Gay? Who? There you go. Yeah. Exactly.
Does he actually play minutes? It depends. He could not play for an entire week, and then another week he could play two consecutive games. Yeah, my point exactly. Yeah.
Wow. Nastream televised though. Hey, nationally televised. Carmelo will talk about it. Have you seen Carmelo tonight?
I I I I'm gonna be completely honest with you. This game was not even on my radar. Yeah. You mentioned it and I was like, hey, I'll put it on. It's on NBC.
It's public. It wasn't on my radar either until we finished with the college football playoff rankings. I'm like Oh, yeah, yeah, might as well, uh there's no baseball, right? No. Maybe Savannah Bananas are on some random channel, but no.
Oh my They're still on tour, isn't that kinda cold for them? I think they're done. For now at least. Unless they go to domes, but I d I really doubt they will. Have have they been over to the Tokyo dome or something yet?
I don't think so. I don't know if th I don't know if they can take the game global. Wow. So you don't think that entertainment is too goofy and silly, huh? It's goofy and silly, but is it going to be acknowledged in different countries?
That's where I question it. Yeah. Well, I mean, there's only been so many places they could take 'em. I mean, it's not going over to Europe. It would really only have to go out into Japan and Asia and then maybe South America.
Ain't nobody else care about no baseball. It's not like they're going to take the Savannah bananas to India. Nobody cares. Not yet. And I think that's where the I think this Avana Bananas are trying to go global just in the fact that it's an easier way to consume baseball.
Yeah, but I don't think people. They'd have to come up with a Savannah Bananas version for cricket, but then people would be like, oh my God, it's cricket. You can't. You can't play games with our sport, you know? I don't know.
It's a very American thing to. I don't want to say bastardize a game, But we we've turned it into uh You know, it's like the Harlem he he did it and he he's a smart man for doing it. He took the Harlem Globetrottis concept and said, I'm going to do this with baseball. Um Do other countries want to do that? I can't imagine us ever seeing anything like that with soccer.
I think the rest of the world would be like, oh my god, how dare you come and destroy our beautiful game? And. I I don't know. We'll see. We'll see what he can do.
That's 8 at 8710-4ISN. At least the Hawks are not embarrassing themselves. They got plenty of time to do so. The Hawks lead the magic. forty one to twenty three with no tray young.
And Trey Young dealing with that that sprained knee From a couple of days ago. Damn it, he might be out for a month and maybe more than a month. You know what? But let's get this in before we hit the break. Carmelo Anthony is now a broadcaster for NBC.
He can say whatever the hell he wants, but Carmelo Anthony still has his own podcast at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn. And you may have known or maybe not Phil Jackson. Yes, the famed Phil Jackson with the Lakers and the Bulls. Also won a championship with the Knicks as a player.
role player. Mop up, man. Phil Jackson has a book out. 'Cause why not? And he's basically telling his story and what have you.
And there's an entire chapter dedicated to Carmelo Anthony. About how he didn't get along with Carmelo Anthony when he took over the GM job and Well He didn't get along with Carmelo? And he basically trashed Carmelo for not wanting to participate in the triangle, and Carmelo Anthony. hit back hard, at Phil Jackson. Listen to what he said on his podcast.
I fall for the team. I fall for everybody on my team. Uh Everybody, no teammate can tell you I've never four for him. Yo, let's just give it a try. Come on, f this.
We don't want to run this anyway, but let's buy in. Let's see if it happens. If we buy in, let's see what happens. F ⁇ er win 30 games. Like, I said.
You know what I'm saying? Like this is what I'm... But I'm the bad guy. That's crazy. He's still trying to sell books off that.
Come on, that's actually. I've sat in your office with you, you know, with candles lit. We done had real Zen conversations. You know, we had Zen moments. Like, now you want to talk some dumb?
And this is why, this is why this younger generation. Don't respect The former guys and other generations, right? That's why this is a disconnect. Just do what you do, Phil. You know what happened?
You should have come out there and coached. Yeah, instead of send your ass up there and stand, come down here and coach. You want to coach the triangle, you want to teach the triangle. Come down here and coach. And see what you can do.
But you know why? The team wasn't Good enough for you to come down from upstairs to come down in and coach. Because you don't coach bullshit teams. Yeah, that's pretty. Yeah, there was the health element that they said that prevented Phil Jack.
It was just the most New York Knicks thing ever. To bring in Phil Jackson to run an organization as its president, and he's never done the job. He's been the coach. He wanted to draft, and he didn't want to draft. He drafted Frank Neil Akina, but then realized Frank Neil Akina couldn't shoot.
He wanted them to play the triangle. We only heard a clip of what Carmelo Anthony had to say, okay? Carmelo continued on and said, God rest his soul, that he had a conversation. with with Kobe Bryant. about the triangle.
And Kobe Bryant pretty much agreed to him at that point in time when they tried to run it. with the New York Knicks that it it wasn't going to work and that it was antiquated. And I mean that's what we heard all the damn time, and so Yeah, Phil Jackson is selling books, and God bless Carmelo Anthony for hitting back. And Carmelo Anthony is now a broadcaster on NBC, and his son is playing for Syracuse. Last night in his debut for Syracuse, the Orange Men, he had 15 points, three rebounds, three assists.
Syracuse B. Binghamton 85 to 47. Man, we got a new Anthony out here playing. And Kyan Anthony was talking to the media afterwards, and he's just like, yeah, my jump shot. Looks exactly like my dad's.
Listen to this. Nah, for sure. It's something I work on, you know. Credit to my dad, of course, you know, that was his shot. He passed it downloads to me.
We work on that almost every day in the gym. I work on that in practice.
So, a shot that I felt confident was going in. For most people, that's not an easy high-percentage shot. How do you get that need to help? Just confidence. I mean, I know the work I put in.
I know mid range is kind of the lost art, but my dad always preached to me, you know, mid range is the easiest way to score.
So I tried to get in there today, use my body, and the mid-range shot fell. And I work on that every day.
So even if I missed it, I wouldn't consider it a bad shot. I can't believe it, man. Carmelo Anthony is a broadcaster on television. and his son is playing for Syracuse. Yeah, time doesn't stop for anybody.
